A Note From the Director...
We are excited to be presenting a couple of firsts with the two productions you are about to watch. A Prologue is a completely student created production. It was written and directed by students as a companion piece to our very first Sarah Ruhl play, Eurydice. Both stories have their foundations firmly set in the mythology of Ancient Greece. In A Prologue we get a lighthearted spin on the trials and tribulations of Hades and Persephone as they try to overcome a mother’s strong objections to their love. In Eurydice, we are plunged into a Lewis Caroll-esque take on the mother of all doomed lovers’ stories, the tragic tale of Orpheus and Eurydice; this time from her point of view.
Sarah Ruhl is an award-winning American playwright, author, essayist, and professor. Her plays include The Oldest Boy, Dear Elizabeth, Stage Kiss, In the Next Room, (Pulitzer Prize finalist, 2010); The Clean House (Pulitzer Prize finalist, 2005; Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, 2004); Passion Play (Pen American Award, Fourth Freedom Forum Playwriting Award from the Kennedy Center); Dead Man’s Cell Phone (Helen Hayes Award for Best New Play) to name just a few. Her plays have been produced on Broadway and across the country as well as internationally and translated into fourteen languages. She teaches at Yale School of Drama and lives in Brooklyn with her family. I have been a fan since I first saw The Clean House. Her unique point of view and brilliant use of language and character won my artistic heart and being able to share this level of writing with the students has been a true pleasure.
Equally, watching our intrepid company of writer/director/actors work through the process of creating and producing a short play has been pleasurable for different reasons. Watching these young adults grapple with the ins and outs of creating new work and then witnessing their resolve to put up the best possible work they can fills me with a sense of immense pride in their creative spirit, their work ethic and their commitment to excellence.
You are in store for a treat this evening. We invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy these two fascinating takes on two very different love stories. It is our hope that they speak to you as profoundly as they have spoken to us.

Taylor Cross ’22 (Assistant Director) Previous EHS performances include: Fiddler on the Roof (Bielke), The Man Who Came to Dinner (June Stanley), Twelfth Night (Ensemble), Beauty and the Beast (Ensemble), and Our Town (Emily Webb). Taylor is very excited to take on a new role other than an actor on stage. She is thankful for the EHS theater program for showing her a different side to herself and that she is ready to take forward in life.
Stella Frank ’25 (Middle Muse) has previously performed in EHS’ production of Our Town (Baseball Player 4) and in the JCC/PAC productions of Beauty and the Beast, Joseph, Lion King, Cats, Seussical, The Addams Family, Pippin, Freckle Face Strawberry, Camp Rock, Game of Myths, and was Carmen in FAME Jr.. She looks forward to becoming a part of the theater family at EHS.
Harrison Goytia ’24 (Hades) Previous shows include Our Town (Constable Warren), Disney’s Beauty and The Beast (Beast), Twelfth Night (Antonio), Little Shop of Horrors (Orin Scrivello), Guys and Dolls (Sky Masterson), Beauty and The Beast (Gaston), Into The Woods (Rapunzel’s Prince), The Music Man (Mayor Shinn), Our Town (Simon Stimson), Godspell (Disciple), and Urinetown The Musical (Hot Blades Harry). Harrison would like to extend a huge thank you to his friends and family for their continued love and support.
Meredith Kinzel ’25 (Persephone) has previously performed in Our Town (Act 1 Stage Manager), Rock of Ages (Ensemble), Peter Pan (Peter Pan), and Shrek (Teen Fiona). She is loving the EHS Theatre Program so far and can’t wait to do more productions!

Kyriaki Postolos ’25 (Youngest Muse) Previous performances include: at EHS, Our Town (Act II Stage Manager); at AOS, The Lion King (Rafiki), The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (White Witch), The Jungle Book (Baloo); at Obsidian Theater Ruthless (Tina); at HITS theater, Into the Woods (Little Red), Bye Bye Birdie (Rosie) and many others. Ki started acting professionally at five in A Christmas Carol at the Alley Theatre playing Fan Scrooge, Claire Fezziwig, and other roles in the children’s cast. Kyriaki also enjoyed attending the Houston Ballet Academy for nine years. She would like to thank God and her family.
Tait Love ’25 (Zeus) has previously performed in EHS’ production of Our Town (Wally Webb). In his free time, Tait likes playing tennis, listening to music, and playing video games with his friends. Tait would like to extend a huge thank you to his friends and family for their continued love and support.
Bella Marquez ’23 (Director of A Prologue) is very excited to be a part of her seventh production at Episcopal. She has previously performed in over fifteen other productions including Shrek (Young Fiona), Snow White (Sneezy), Anne of Green Gables (Diana), Peter Pan (Wendy), and most recently Our Town (Stage Manager Act 3). She would like to thank everyone who made this production possible, and she hopes you enjoy the show.
Hannah Smith ’25 (Hermes) has previously performed in EHS’ production of Our Town (Si Crowell). Past performances include You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown (Snoopy), The Lion King (Pumbaa), and Frozen (Sven). In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, building things, and relaxing. Hannah is exited to start off her EHS Onstage career.

Ashlyn Collings ’24 (Big Stone) Previous EHS performances include: Our Town (Simon Stimson), Twelfth Night (Olivia’s Entourage), Beauty and The Beast (Napkin, Wolf, and Townsperson), and Three Characters Figure It Out (Character 1). In Ashlyn’s free time, she enjoys reading, taking her dog for a walk, and listening to classical music. She would like to thank her family, friends, and dogs for being so supportive.
Brooke Crabtree ’25 (Little Stone) was previously in the EHS production of Our Town and played Rebecca Gibbs. She’s excited to perform in her second Episcopal play as Little Stone and would like to thank everyone who helped put together Eurydice and A Prologue.
Lulu Gibellini ’25 (Little Stone) Was just recently in Our Town (Dead Man). This is Lulu’s second show at EHS, and she is so happy for all the support that the theatre program has shown her. She hoped that everyone will enjoy the show and thanks them for coming!
Josh Horn ’23 (Orpheus) is excited to be participating in his fifth EHS Onstage production. His past appearances include: Twelfth Night (Servant), Letters to Sala (Guard), Beauty and the Beast (Maurice) and Our Town (George). In his free time, Josh enjoys playing baseball and playing videogames.

Abigail Klinkerman ’22 (Big Stone) is very excited to perform in her sixth EHS production! This will mark her 33rd show! Her favorite credits include: Tuck Everlasting (Mae Tuck), Letters to Sala (Ala Gertner), King Charles III (Ms. Stephens), Ruthless! (Judy), Urinetown (Officer Lockstock), 25th Spelling Bee (Rona), Drowsy Chaperone (Janet), Chicago (Mama Morton) with Wildfish Theatre, Willy Wonka (Veruca Salt), Seussical (Cat in the Hat), and The Lion King (Timon) with KBP. Abigail has studied dance for 8 years, enjoys playing the guitar, running track, and being a student trainer.
Colin McCormick ’22 (Child) is very excited to be performing once again with EHS Onstage. He has played Chaim Kaufman and the Nazi Officer in Letters to Sala, and the Captain in Twelfth Night, and Doc Gibbs in Our Town. He thanks his family for their support and hopes to be in many shows to come. Taylor Schugart ’22 (Loud Stone) is very excited to be performing in her senior year at EHS. She has previously participated in Letters to Sala (Blima), King Charles III (Jess), Fiddler on the Roof (Fiddler), and other productions. She has also participated in student-directed one acts. Taylor is very excited for her senior year and can’t wait to see what the rest of the season brings!
Poema Sumrow ’23 (Loud Stone) Previous EHS performances include: Our Town (Joe Stoddard) Twelfth Night (Ensemble), Letters to Sala (Gucia) and Beauty and the Beast (Ensemble). In her free time, Poema enjoys reading, going to museums, and eating pasta. She would like to thank her family and friends for their love and support.

Sophia Espinoza ’23 (Assistant Stage Manager) is so thrilled to participate in an amazing play at Episcopal High School. She has previously performed in Fiddler on the Roof, Annie, James and the Giant Peach, Man Who Came to Dinner, Twelfth Night, Our Town, and more. She has worked backstage on two other shows: King Charles III and Tuck Everlasting. She also enjoys running cross country and playing tennis.
Corey Kirkpatrick ’24 (Stage Manager) Previous EHS performances include Twelfth Night (Ensemble), Beauty and the Beast (Ensemble), and Our Town (Baseball Player). In their free time, Corey enjoys baking, listening to music, and playing the alto saxophone.
Julia Lang ’25 (Stage Manager) Previous performances include Our Town (2nd Dead Man), The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Lucy Pevensie), Frozen Jr. (Queen Iduna), and many more! Other than participating in theatre, she enjoys running cross country and playing soccer. In her free time, she loves watching Marvel movies and reading books.
