تشدٌد اإلجراءات على ركاب رحالت مصر للطٌران إلى نٌوٌورك كتب -طه عبٌد:
بدأت شركة مصر للطٌران الٌوم الخمٌس ،تشدٌد اإلجراءات األمنٌة المتبعة لتأمٌن ركاب رحالتها المتجهة إلى نٌوٌورك ،وفحص حقائبهم وبٌاناتهم؛ تنفٌذا لطلب السلطات األمرٌكٌة المختصة مع استمرار اصطحاب الركاب لألجهزة اإللكترونٌة . صرحت مصادر مطلعة بالشركة ،أن تشدٌد اإلجراءات األمنٌة على رحالت نٌوٌورك؛ تنفٌذا للمنشور الذي وصل من السلطات األمنٌة األمرٌكٌة ،وتم زٌادة عدد رجال األمن لفحص ركاب الطائرة فً صالة السفر. وأضافت المصادر ،أن الشركة بدأت تشدٌد اإلجراءات األمنٌة المتبعة لتأمٌن الركاب المغادرٌن على رحلة الشركة رقم ،985والتً تغادر ٌومٌا إلى مطار "جى إف كٌنٌدي" بنٌوٌورك . وأشارت المصادر ،إلى أن اإلجراءات الجدٌدة تتضمن توجٌه عدة أسئلة للركاب المغادرٌن على الطائرة؛ للتأكد من سالمتهم وصحة البٌانات التً ٌذكرونها مع بٌانات جواز السفر ،والذى ٌفحصه رجل األمن بدقة من خالل توجٌه األسئلة مع زٌادة فحص محتوٌات الحقائب التً ٌصطحبها الركاب.

أكد مصدر مالحى بمطار القاهرة الدولى ،إنه من المقرر أن تسٌر الشركة الوطنٌة مصر للطٌران بداٌة من الدقٌقة األولى للٌوم الجمعة 194رحلة من وإلى مختلف العواصم العربٌة والعالمٌة والمدن الداخلٌة المصرٌة ،لنقل أكثر من 19ألف راكب مصرى وأجنبى إلى وجهاتهم.
وأفاد مصدر مالحى ،إن مصر للطٌران تسٌر 98طائرة من مطار القاهرة الدولى لنقل نحو 10آالف راكب إلى العواصم العربٌة والعالمٌة والمدن الداخلٌة المصرٌة ،كما تسٌر مصر للطٌران 96رحلة من العواصم العربٌة والعالمٌة والمدن الداخلٌة المصرٌة إلى مطار القاهرة لنقل 9آالف و 276 راكبا. وأوضح المصدر ،إن مركز العملٌات لم ٌتلقى حتى اآلن أى إخطار بإلغاء أى رحلة من رحالت الشركة فى مرحلتى اإلقالع والوصول.

استقبل مطار القاهرة الدولى ،خالل الـ 24ساعة الماضٌة 6 ،رحالت مصرٌة قادمة من دولة الكوٌت واألردن ولبنان ،فى إطار تنفٌذ خطة مصر للطٌران بتسٌٌر رحالت إضافٌة لهذه الدول إلعادة المصرٌٌن العاملٌن فى قطر، والراغبٌن فً قضاء إجازاتهم فً مصر. وأفاد مصدر مسئول بمصر للطٌران ،إن الشركة سٌرت 3رحالت من مطار الكوٌت بواقع رحلتٌن من مطار عمان الدولى ،ورحلة واحدة من مطار بٌروت بنسبة امتالء بلغت .% 98 وتقوم مصر للطٌران بتسٌٌر رحالت إضافٌة إلى دولة الكوٌت ولبنان واألردن إلعادة المصرٌٌن العاملٌن فى دولة قطر بعد قرار السلطات المصرٌة بوقف الرحالت المباشرة من وإلى الدوحة. الجدٌر بالذكر ،إن مطارات الكوٌت واألردن ولبنان ،هم أقرب نقطة للدوحة، وٌقوم المصرٌٌن العاملٌن فى قطر من الراغبٌن فى العودة لقضاء إجازاتهم بالسفر إلى الدول السابقة وتنقلهم مصر للطٌران إلى القاهرة.

إقالع 29رحلة للمدن السٌاحٌة المصرٌة وعلى متنها أكثر من 2000سائح كتب محمد طنطاوى شهد مطار القاهرة الدولى ،خالل الـ 24ساعة الماضٌة ،انطالق 29رحلة تابعة لشركة مصر للطٌران ،لنقل ألفٌن و 265سائحا لقضاء إجازاتهم. وقامت سلطات المطار بالتنسٌق مع شركة مصر للطٌران بتخصٌص فرق من العالقات العامة داخل الصاالت لتسهٌل عملٌة تسفٌر السائحٌن وفقا لرحالتهم. وشهد المطار انطالق 10رحالت إلى مدٌنة الغردقة ،و 8رحالت لمدٌنة شرم الشٌخ و 4رحالت إلى كال من مدٌنتى األقصر وأسوان ،باإلضافة إلى رحلة أخرى لكال من مرسى علم وبرج العرب وأبو سمبل.

استقبل مطار القاهرة الدولى خالل الـ 24ساعة الماضٌة ،أكثر من 3آالف سائح عربى وأجنبى لزٌارة األماكن السٌاحٌة واألثرٌة بالقاهرة الكبرى والمحافظات المصرٌة.
ووصلت المطار 152طائرة مصرٌة وأجنبٌة على متنها 91مجموعة سٌاحٌة من برٌطانٌا والصٌن وأندونٌسٌا والٌابان وتاٌوان ولٌتوانٌا وأسبانٌا وبرٌطانٌا وكرواتٌا وبلجٌكا واإلمارات والكوٌت والسعودٌة والبحرٌن. وقامت شرطة السٌاحة باإلشراف على إنهاء إجراءات وصولهم ،بٌنما قامت إدارة قوات األمن وتأمٌن الركاب بالمطار بتأمٌن خروجهم من دائرة المطار حتى مقار إقاماتهم.

شهد مطار القاهرة الدولى ،أمس الخمٌس ،إلغاء إقالع 3رحالت تابعات لشركة الخطوط الجوٌة السعودٌة ،وشركة نسمة للطٌران ،والشركة المصرٌة العالمٌة للطٌران ،بسبب عدم اكتمال التكلفة االقتصادٌة لتشغٌلها وقلة عدد ركابها. تلقت سلطات المطار ،إخطارا من شركة نسمة للطٌران بإلغاء إقالع رحلتٌها رقم 130المتجهة إلى الطائف ،وإخطار من شركة الخطوط السعودٌة المتجهة إلى المدٌنة رقم ،130ورحلة رقم 510المتجهة إلى الكوٌت ،وقامت سلطات المطار بتنسٌق سفر ركاب الرحالت الثالثة على متن طائرات أخرى.

وزارة الطٌران :شرٌف فتحى لم ٌدل بأى تصرٌحات بعد عودته من غانا كتب محمد طنطاوى
صرح باسم عبد الكرٌم المتحدث الرسمى باسم وزاره الطٌران المدنى ،بأن وزٌر الطٌران والوفد المرافق له وصل مساء الخمٌس من غانا ،وغادر المطار مباشرة بعد إنهاء اإلجراءات. وقال عبد الكرٌم ،فى بٌان ،أن وزٌر الطٌران لم ٌقم باإلدالء بأى تصرٌحات وبناء علٌه فإن أى تصرٌحات صحفٌة عند وصوله بل طوال األسبوع الماضى، ً تم نشرها عن لسان الوزٌر الٌوم هى غٌر صحٌحة بغض النظر عن محتواها. وكان أحد المواقع اإلخبارٌة قد نشر ما ٌفٌد إدالء وزٌر الطٌران بتصرٌحات انتقد فٌها تناول األخبار التى تتعلق بإلغاء بعض الشركات الخاصة لرحالت ال تحقق الجدوى االقتصادٌة من التشغٌل ،وهو األمر الذى قامت فٌه الوزارة بنفٌه لعدم إدالء الوزٌر بأى تصرٌحات فى هذا السٌاق.

Ethiopian takes delivery of first 787-9 Ethiopian Airlines has taken delivery of its first of four Boeing 787-9s, all of which are being leased from AerCap. The aircraft arrived in Addis Ababa after a non-stop 7,270nm (13,440km) delivery flight from Boeing's plant in Everett, Washington. Ethiopian is the first carrier in Africa to receive the larger -9 variant. It already operates 19 787-8s, having been the first in Africa to introduce that version in 2012. Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that the four leased 787-9s are powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines. Ethiopian's first batch of 13 787-8s are powered by General Electric GEnx engines but the last six -8s delivered in 2016-2017 are Rollspowered. The first 787-9 conducted a humanitarian delivery flight on its positioning flight from the USA. Union seeks to measure 'dissatisfaction' of Ryanair's UK pilots Pilot union BALPA is conducting a survey to gauge the support of Ryanair's UK-based flightcrew for legal or strike action over working practices. The union says the survey is a response to "growing dissatisfaction with the company". One of the questions BALPA asks is whether pilots would be "prepared to support industrial action to achieve their objectives"; another, whether staff hired on agency contracts would support "a group legal action to establish employee or worker rights". BALPA general secretary Brian Strutton argues that Ryanair is "unique in the complexity of its employment structures", and says the survey is partly aimed at finding out whether pilots want the union to "test the legality" of the airline's practice of using third-party contractors to hire flightcrew. "We will be guided by the Ryanair pilots in all of this work," he adds. Ryanair does not recognise union representation in its dealings with pilots, preferring to negotiate with them through employee representative committees (ERCs) at each of its bases. The airline regularly uses recruitment agencies such as Crewlink to hire pilots. Responding to BALPA's statement, Ryanair says a majority of its pilots are direct employees, adding: "A minority are contractors, just like the contractor pilots which predominate among Norwegian, Wizz, EasyJet and other low-cost airlines in Europe, and the many contractors employed by hospitals, hotels, airports and media companies". On this basis, the airline argues, "BALPA's claims about Ryanair's 'complex employment structures' are false". Pilots who wish to discuss or improve their pay or conditions "can do so at any time using the established collective bargaining (base ERC) process", states Ryanair.

Prioritize Infrastructure & Smarter Regulation for Philippines Aviation The International Air Transport Association (IATA) called on the government of the Philippines to maximize the economic and social benefits that aviation can bring to the development of the country by (1) addressing airport infrastructure deficiencies in Manila, (2) abandoning proposals for increased taxation on aviation and (3) adopting Smarter Regulation Principles.

But the social and economic benefits of air transport are at risk if the key issues of airport infrastructure, excessive regulation and taxation are not addressed," said Alexandre de Juniac, IATA's Director General and CEO. De Juniac was addressing the participants of the Philippine Aviation Day in Manila organized by the Air Carriers Association of the Philippines. Infrastructure Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) was built to handle 30 million passengers but is handling nearly 40 million passengers currently. "There is an urgent need for an airport master plan to accommodate the growing demand for connectivity" said de Juniac.

This will provide much needed additional capacity (to the maximum of the airport's physical constraints) until a new airport is ready. Further developing Clark International Airport as a secondary, not primary, airport for Manila. This recognizes that physical constraints at NAIA and Clark's distance from Manila prevent either from fulfilling this role. "There is no time to lose – every landing that cannot be accommodated is lost money and opportunity for the Philippine economy. Siting, designing, building and financing a new airport and the connecting infrastructure can easily be a ten-year project. Even the most aggressive possible incremental capacity expansion plan of NAIA will not be able to adequately cope with the growing demand," said de Juniac. Excessive Regulation "Well-constructed regulation has played a key role in making the industry safe and reliable. But excessively onerous regulation can be a huge burden on the ability of aviation to deliver its social and economic benefits," said de Juniac. De Juniac cited the new consumer protection legislation in the Philippines that would cap air fares, prohibit overbooking and impose onerous consumer protections extra-territorially.
Airfare caps: In 2016, airfares in the Philippines were 77% cheaper than a decade before. Over the same period the number of destinations served directly from the Philippines increased from 40 to 55, while the number of travelers nearly tripled from 24 million to 64 million. "Aviation is competitive. Airlines offer a wide variety of fares at different price points to satisfy consumer needs. Introducing government imposed fare caps would likely have the unintended consequence of reducing deeply discounted fares. If airlines cannot charge a premium for ultimate flexibility, then covering costs will likely lead to a rise in average fares," said de Juniac. .

Overbooking: "The reality is that more bookings are made than people who actually fly. Managed overbooking helps fill the plane and keeps fares low. Revenue management systems watch trends and adjust the selling with tremendous accuracy. When they get things wrong, a flexible market solution, not inflexible regulation, is the answer," said de Juniac. Consumer protection: The industry supports robust consumer protection in line with global standards and smarter regulation principles. The Montreal Convention and ICAO's principles for consumer protection are the model to follow. But what is being proposed is misaligned and oversteps the national boundary. "Powerful market forces govern a hyper competitive industry. When things go wrong, airlines have every incentive to make them right because they don't want to lose their customers. And if the customer is disappointed, they have the ultimate power in their wallets of choosing another airline for their next trip," said de Juniac. De Juniac urged the authorities to adopt smarter regulation principles when developing the regulatory framework. These include (1) respect global standards where they exist; (2) focus on solving real problems; (3) ability to pass rigorous costbenefit analysis and (4) transparent and does not distort competition.
(4) Green Fee and Taxes De Juniac called on the Philippine government to avoid implementing a tourism tax and to abandon a proposed Green Fee. The economic and social benefits of tourism are compromised by tourism taxes. "Short-term budget gains quickly disappear when tourist arrivals drop. The government should focus on making wise investments in the tourism infrastructure that will encourage people to visit. The extra tourist dollars you attract will pay for the investments and make a greater economic contribution," said de Juniac. "The proposed Green Fee is misguided and should be abandoned. Governments through the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) have agreed a global approach to climate change based on improvements in technology, infrastructure and operations. And there is an agreed Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation—CORSIA. The cause of sustainability is best served by the Philippines supporting this global approach and volunteering to participate in CORSIA," said de Juniac

Denver plans to add 39 gates in $1.5bn Expansion Denver International airport plans to add 39 gates to its three concourses over the next five years, as it works to manage rapid passenger traffic growth and airline ambitions. The $1.5 billion works will add 12 gates to concourse A, 11 gates to concourse B and 16 gates to concourse C by 2023, Denver City Council documents show and the airport confirms. The additional gates will be added to each concourse by extending them to the east and west of their existing footprint.

(2) The new gates will increase the airport's total to 146 from 107 today. Denver has seen traffic boom in recent years. Passenger numbers were up 7.1% year-to-date to 41.1 million in August, airport data shows. This comes after the airport set a new annual record of 58.3 million passengers in 2016, making it the sixth busiest in the USA. United Airlines is the largest carrier at Denver with a 42.2% share of passenger traffic year-to-date in August, the data shows. Southwest Airlines is the second largest with a 29.4% share and Frontier Airlines third with an 11.7% share. Chicago-based United has preferred use of 73 gates for its mainline and regional operations in concourse B, Frontier eight gates in concourse A and Southwest 25 gates in concourse C, a map on the Denver airport's website shows. Discussions with airlines over use of the new gates are underway, a Denver airport spokesman says. However, the additional gates in concourse B will likely be used by United and those in concourse C by primarily Southwest as the airport has worked in recent years to consolidate individual airline operations – except for international flights – in a single concourse. MORE AIRPLANES "I have lots of plans putting even more airplanes through [Denver] in the future," United president Scott Kirby told employees in January. He added that he saw the "most growth opportunities" at the airport from among the airline's seven hubs. United was evaluating what additional facilities it would need for further growth, he said at the time. The airline has focused on increasing connecting traffic over Denver this year. Numerous routes were shifted to larger gauge aircraft in June and new service to Columbia, Missouri, began in August.

Frontier and Southwest are also growing in Denver, with the former planning to add 21 new routes from the airport through the spring of 2018. This year, Frontier seats are scheduled to decrease 1.3% year-over-year and Southwest seats up 4.7%, while flights are down 6.4% and up 4.2%, respectively, schedule data shows. Denver is the fourth busiest airport in Southwest's network with 209 daily flights, the Dallas-based carrier's website shows. PENDING SIGN OFF The Denver City Council must vote on the $1.5 billion in advisory and construction contracts for the airport's planned expansion, the first meeting on which is scheduled for 1 November. The airport plans to issue bonds to finance the works in 2018, the spokesman says. The concourse expansion plans come after the airport signed a $1.8 billion concession agreement to renovate the airport terminal in August. Frontier, Southwest and United, as well as other carriers, opposed the contract citing concerns with rising passenger costs. Frontier and Southwest decline to comment on the concourse expansion. United was not immediately available to comment.
