‫‪http://www.ahram.org.eg/‬‬ ‫جهود مكثفة فى برلٌن إلعادة الحركة السٌاحٌة إلى شرم الشٌخ‬ ‫‪ 48‬ساعة من اللقاءات المتواصلة مع شركات الطٌران ومنظمى الرحالت واالعالمٌ​ٌن‬ ‫والمسئولٌن األلمان قام خاللها خالد فودة محافظ جنوب سٌناء بحضور توقٌع العدٌد من‬ ‫االتفاقٌات بٌن منظمى الرحالت وشركات الطٌران العادة الحٌاة إلى شرم الشٌخ والتأكٌد على‬ ‫ضرورة تحسٌن الصورة الذهنٌة عما ٌجرى فى مصر مؤكدا انها تحقق اآلن نهضة اقتصادٌة‬ ‫ؼٌر مسبوقة وتنفذ العدٌد من المشروعات القومٌة العمالقة التى ستضع مصر فى مصاؾ‬ ‫الدول الكبري‪..‬وقد جاءت زٌارة محافظ جنوب سٌناء فى التوقٌت المناسب وهو ما دفع قطاع‬ ‫السٌاحة األلمانً‪ ،‬إلى إعادة النظر فى قرار مقاطعتها لتٌسٌر رحالت إلى شرم الشٌخ‪.‬‬ ‫وقد طالب الجانب األلمانى سواء من المسئولٌن الحكومٌ​ٌن أو شركات السٌاحة والطٌران ان‬ ‫ٌقوم المسئولون المصرٌون بتكثٌؾ زٌاراتهم لالحتكاك بالرأى العام من خالل لقاءاتهم مع‬ ‫وسائل االعالم لتصحٌح الصورة الذهنٌة‪..‬كما طالبوا بإطالق حمالت تروٌجٌة لتنشٌط‬ ‫السٌاحة خاصة مع قرب حلول موسم الشتاء الذى ٌجعل من مصر مقصدا سٌاحٌا متمٌزا‪.‬‬ ‫وعقب إعالنه عن بدء تسٌ​ٌر ‪ 6‬رحالت سٌاحٌة أسبوعٌا من عدة دول أوروبٌة إلى شرم‬ ‫الشٌخ أكد اللواء خالد فودة محافظ جنوب سٌناء خالل ورشة العمل التى انتهت فعالٌاتها‬ ‫امس بمقر السفارة المصرٌة ببرلٌن‪..‬ان كبرى منظمى الرحالت فى النمسا ‪ETI‬وأخرى من‬ ‫بولندا قد طالبتا بعقد ورشة عمل أخرى عن شرم الشٌخ‪.‬‬ ‫وأمام حشد كبٌر من كبرى شركات الطٌران ومنظمى الرحالت واالعالمٌ​ٌن األلمان أكد فودة‬ ‫ان مصر لٌس لدٌها ما تخفٌه حول أمن المطارات وان جمٌع الدول التى طالبت بإرسال وفود‬ ‫امنٌة تم الترحٌب بها وقدمنا لها كل الدعم الالزم‪..‬وطالب المحافظ الحضور ان ٌطلعوا‬ ‫بانفسهم على تقارٌر حكوماتهم حٌث جاءت جمٌعها لتؤكد سالمة االجراءات األمنٌة‬ ‫بالمطارات‪..‬مضٌفا ان الحكومة األلمانٌة لم تسمح بتٌسٌر رحالت الى شرم الشٌخ إال بعد ان‬ ‫تأكدت من جدٌة االجراءات‪..‬كما وصؾ الدكتور بدر عبد العاطى سفٌر مصر فى المانٌا‬ ‫العالقات المصرٌة ـ األلمانٌة بأنها فى أزهى عصورها وانه ألول مرة فى تارٌخ العالقات بٌن‬ ‫البلدٌن ٌتم توقٌع اتفاقٌات أمنٌة لمكافحة اإلرهاب باالضافة إلى االتفاقٌات االقتصادٌة ؼٌر‬ ‫المسبوقة التى تم توقٌعها مؤخرا‪.‬‬ ‫وأكد السفٌر ان وزٌر الخارجٌة سامح شكرى أدار ملؾ العالقات األلمانٌة المصرٌة‬ ‫باحترافٌة ومهنٌة شدٌدة‪..‬حٌث استطاع ان ٌقنع الجانب األلمانى بعدم االنسٌاق وراء بعض‬ ‫الدول التى قامت بوقؾ رحالتها الى مصر‪..‬مضٌفا ان هذا ٌفسر دعم السلطات األلمانٌة ؼٌر‬ ‫المسبوق لمصر وكانت الدولة األوروبٌة الوحٌدة التى دعمت السٌاحة المصرٌة‪.‬‬

‫وقال فودة خالل ورشة العمل التى أقامها المكتب السٌاحى ببرلٌن برئاسة تامر مرزوق‬ ‫وكانت تحت عنوان شرم الشٌخ مدٌنة السالم تحدٌات الحاضر وخطط المستقبل إن مدٌنة‬ ‫شرم الشٌخ لٌس لها مثٌل فى العالم من حٌث روعة شواطئها وطقسها الرائع ومقوماتها‬ ‫السٌاحٌة التى ال توجد فى أى دولة أخري‪..‬وقال ان بها ‪ 60‬ألؾ ؼرفة فندقٌة و‪ 10‬آالؾ‬ ‫أخرى تحت االنشاء‪..‬مؤكدا ان نسبة االشؽاالت حتى امس كانت ‪ %35‬فقط‪..‬فى حٌن انها فى‬ ‫نفس هذه الفترة من العام الماضى كانت تزٌد عن ‪.%70‬‬ ‫وقال انه لن ٌتكلم عن األمن فى المطار ولكنه سٌكتفى بتقارٌر الوفود األمنٌة األلمانٌة التى‬ ‫زارته مؤخرا والتى أكدت جمٌعها سالمة االجراءات وكذلك فعلت فرنسا وأرسلت له خطاب‬ ‫شكر وأشار الى زٌارة وفد البرلمان االنجلٌزى لشرم الشٌخ وقٌامه بالذهاب فجأة ودون‬ ‫ترتٌب الى مدٌنة سانت كاترٌن التى تبعد ‪ 250‬كٌلو عن شرم الشٌخ والتقوا بالبدو واهالى‬ ‫المدٌنة واشادوا باالجراءات األمنٌة على الطرق وداخل المدٌنة‪.‬‬ ‫وأكد المحافظ ان شرم الشٌخ تقع على بعد ‪ 600‬كٌلو من شمال سٌناء وال عالقة لها بما‬ ‫ٌجرى هناك‪ ،‬مشددا على ان القوات األمنٌة المصرٌة سٌطرت تماما على األوضاع هناك‬ ‫ولدٌها القدرة على دحر اإلرهاب‪.‬‬

‫آى تى آى االلمانٌة تطلق ‪ 6‬رحالت لشرم الشٌخ‬ ‫أكد مصدر مسئول بقطاع السٌاحة بشرم الشٌخ ان اللواء خالد فوده محافظ جنوب‬ ‫سٌناء سوؾ ٌعلن الٌوم من العاصمة االلمانٌة برلٌن عن اتفاقه مع شركة اى تى‬ ‫اى االلمانٌة وشركات الطٌران على إطالق ‪ 3‬رحالت بدء من شهر سبتمبر‬ ‫المقبل‪.‬‬ ‫كما اكد المصدر ان فودة تعاقد مع نفس الشركة على تٌسٌر رحلة من سوٌسرا‬ ‫بداٌة من شهر سبتمبر ومد رحالت سلوفاكٌا حتى نهاٌة الموسم الشتوى المقبل‬ ‫اضافة الى رحلة لبولندا‪..‬‬

‫موسكو تستأنؾ رحالت«الطٌران الشارتر» مع تركٌا‬ ‫أعلن ألكسندر نٌرادكو رئٌس هٌئة الطٌران المدنً الروسٌة عن أن قرابة ‪15‬من شركات‬ ‫الطٌران الروسٌة بدأت استعداداتها الستئناؾ رحالت الطٌران العارض «الشارتر»إلى تركٌا‪،‬‬ ‫بعد الحصول على التصارٌح الالزمة لذلك‪.‬وقال نٌرادكو ‪ -‬فً تصرٌحات أدلى بها أمس على‬ ‫هامش إحدى فعالٌات شركة طٌران «ٌو تً آٌر» فً مدٌنة تٌومٌن الروسٌة ؼربً سٌبٌرٌا‬ ‫ «ان كل الشركات التً كانت تنفذ سابقا رحالت الطٌران العارض إلى المنتجعات التركٌة‬‫ترٌد مواصلة الرحالت إلى تركٌا»‪.‬‬ ‫وأضاؾ أن»الشركات الروسٌة لن تكون فً حاجة إال لبضع ساعات من أجل استئناؾ‬ ‫برنامج رحالتها للطٌران الشارتر بعد صدور التصرٌح الالزمة من السلطات الروسٌة‪ ،‬على‬ ‫ضوء ما تقوم به اآلن من مفاوضات مع المطارات التركٌة بشأن حجز مواعٌد للرحالت»‪.‬‬

‫‪https://arabic.rt.com‬‬ ‫شركات طٌران روسٌة مستعدة الستئناؾ رحالت "شارتر" إلى‬ ‫تركٌا‬ ‫أعربت نحو ‪ 15‬شركة طٌران روسٌة عن استعدادها الستئناؾ رحالت الطٌران العارض‬ ‫(شارتر) إلى تركٌا‪ ،‬بعد الحصول على التصارٌح الالزمة لذلك من السلطات الروسٌة‪.‬‬ ‫وقال رئٌس هٌئة الطٌران المدنً الروسٌة ٌوم السبت ‪ 13‬أؼسطس‪/‬اَب‪ ،‬ألكسندر نٌرادكو‪،‬‬ ‫ردا على سؤال الصحفٌ​ٌن حول موعد استئناؾ رحالت الطٌران العارض بٌن روسٌا وتركٌا‪،‬‬ ‫قال‪" :‬هناك حوالً ‪ 15‬شركة روسٌة مستعدة الستئناؾ الطٌران"‪.‬‬ ‫وأضاؾ المسؤول الروسً على هامش العرض الجوي‪ ،‬الذي نظمته شركة "ٌو تً آٌر" فً‬ ‫مدٌنة تٌومٌن الروسٌة الواقعة فً ؼرب سٌبٌرٌا‪ ،‬أن كل الشركات التً كانت تنفذ سابقا‬ ‫رحالت الطٌران العارض إلى المنتجعات التركٌة‪" ،‬ترٌد مواصلة الرحالت إلى تركٌا"‪.‬‬ ‫ولفت رئٌس هٌئة الطٌران المدنً الروسٌة إلى أن الشركات الروسٌة سٌلزمها بضع ساعات‬ ‫الستئناؾ برنامج رحالت الطٌران "شارتر" بعد صدور التصرٌح الالزمة من السلطات‬ ‫الروسٌة‪ .‬وٌعود ذلك لكون الشركات الروسٌة تتفاوض حالٌا مع المطارات التركٌة بشأن‬ ‫حجز مواعٌد للرحالت‪.‬‬ ‫وقال مصدر للصحفٌ​ٌن‪" :‬بعد توقٌع الرئٌس(الروسً) على مرسوم رفع الحظر عن بٌع‬ ‫التذاكر السٌاحٌة إلى تركٌا فً نهاٌة حزٌران‪ٌ/‬ونٌو الماضً‪ ،‬بدأت شركات الطٌران العارض‬ ‫الروسٌة المفاوضات مع المطارات التركٌة بشأن حجز مواعٌد للرحالت"‪.‬‬ ‫وكانت موسكو قد فرضت قٌودا وتدابٌر اقتصادٌة ضد تركٌا بعد اسقاط سالح الجو التركً‬ ‫قاذفة روسٌة فً سورٌا‪ ،‬ودخلت هذه القٌود حٌز التنفٌذ فً بداٌة العام الجاري ومنها حظر‬ ‫رحالت الطٌران العارض بٌن البلدٌن‪.‬‬ ‫وبعد اعتذار الرئٌس التركً‪ ،‬رجب طٌب أردوؼان‪ ،‬فً ٌونٌو‪/‬حزٌران عن اسقاط الطائرة‬ ‫الروسٌة اتفق الجانبان على استئناؾ العالقات بٌن روسٌا وتركٌا‪ ،‬ولكن األوضاع األمنٌة‬ ‫والسٌاسٌة فً تركٌا حالت دون حدوث ذلك‪.‬‬ ‫وفً ‪ 9‬أؼسطس‪/‬اَب‪ ،‬صرح الرئٌس الروسً‪ ،‬فالدٌمٌر بوتٌن فً أعقاب لقائه الرئٌس‬ ‫التركً فً مدنٌة سان بطرسبورغ الروسٌة بأن روسٌا تعتزم رفع التدابٌر والقٌود‬ ‫االقتصادٌة المفروضة على الشركات التركٌة بشكل تدرٌجً‪ ،‬منوها بأن رحالت الـ"تشارتر"‬ ‫ستستأنؾ قرٌبا‪.‬‬ ‫المصدر‪ :‬وكاالت‬

Moroccan Airports: increase in passenger traffic during July 2016 increase of 12.14%, compared to the same period of 2015. The share of Mohammed V airport was 876,960 passengers (up 14.07%), while the share of Marrakech Menara Airport accounted to 291,643 passengers (up 5.17%) and Agadir Al Massira Airport passengers were 123,551 (up 3.85%).

Registered aircraft movements at the Kingdom’s airports during July 2016 recorded 15,899 movements, an increase of 4.45% compared to the same period of 2015. Mohammed V Airport’s share of these movements was 50.2%, Marrakech Menara Airport’s share was 14.23%, and Agadir Airport’s share was 6.55%.

Saudia inaugurates direct flights to its new destination Ankara in November 2016 Saudia is ready to operate direct flights to the Turkish capital, Ankara. Ankara will become the second leg in Turkey after Istanbul, and the third new destination that Saudia adds to its network of international direct flights through 2016 after it has launched a new direct route between Riyadh and Maldives’ capital, Malé, in March 2016, and started operating direct flights between Riyadh and Munich on 4 July 2016. Later in 2016, Saudia will operate direct flights to Algeria as well.

The direct flights between Ankara and each of Madinah and Jeddah are set to commence on 18 November 2016. United and IBT Reach Agreement in Principle for Technicians United and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) announced jointly today that they have reached an agreement in principle for a joint contract covering the company's approximately 9,000 technicians and related employees.

The parties will complete final language and put the resulting tentative agreement out to vote by the technicians and related employees.

"This is a great day for the entire United family. Each day we rely on our incredibly dedicated and professional technicians to keep us flying safely. I commend the negotiating teams from the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, United and the National Mediation Board for all of their effort to get us here, as well as the leadership of Captain Bourne," said Oscar Munoz, president and CEO of United. "Upon ratification, this will be the first time in almost a decade that all United work groups will have labor contracts in place."

More Airlines Likely to Suffer Outages Due to Outdated Technology Airlines will likely suffer more disruptions like the one that grounded about 2,000 Delta flights this week because major carriers have not invested enough to overhaul reservations systems based on technology dating to the 1960s, airline industry and technology experts told Reuters.

Airlines have spent heavily to introduce new features such as automated check-in kiosks, real-time luggage tracking and slick mobile apps. But they have avoided the steep cost of rebuilding their reservations systems from the ground up, former airline executives said.

Scott Nason, former chief information officer at American Airlines Group Inc, said long-term investments in computer technology were a tough sell when he worked there.

"Most airlines were on the verge of going out of business for many years, so investment of any kind had to have short payback periods," said Nason, who left American in 2009 and is now an independent consultant.

The reservations systems of the biggest carriers mostly run on a specialized IBM operating system known as Transaction Processing Facility, or TPF. It was designed in the 1960s to process large numbers of transactions quickly and is still updated by IBM, which did a major rewrite of the operating system about a decade ago.

A host of special features, ranging from mobile check-ins to seat selection and cabin upgrades, are built on top of the TPF core, or connected to it.

"They have surrounded that old industry infrastructure with modern technology," said Bob Edwards, United Continental Holdings Inc's former chief information officer until 2014.

When a power outage shuts off that reservations system - as happened on Monday to Delta Air Lines Inc's "Deltamatic" system - TPF falls out of sync with the newer technologies that passenger service agents use to assist travelers, Edwards said.

Airlines are then forced to cancel flights as demands from stranded customers flood their employees - who meanwhile are handling bookings on an older platform without their familiar, modern tools, he said.

Several years ago, it took United six hours to recover from a test shutdown, thanks to complications with the many addons built atop TPF, Edwards said.

Other recent disruptions include one in July that prompted Southwest Airlines Co to cancel over 2,000 flights and two outages last summer at United Continental.

IBM Senior Vice President Tom Rosamilia said in a statement that TPF "was not named as the source or issue in any of the recent outages" and that it "is one of the most modern and reliable systems in the airline infrastructure."

Rosamilia added that the vast majority of airlines use TPF "to process up to a million complex transactions per second, uninterrupted by frequent feature updates or the failure of other systems."

Pressure for Profits Delta spokeswoman Kate Modolo said in a statement that a small fire on Monday resulted in a "massive failure" at the airline's technology center. Delta was forced to cancel flights because critical systems did not switch over to backup power as intended, she said.

Modolo did not answer whether Delta relies on TPF, but said "the functionality of the IT programs we use" was not an issue. She had no comment on whether Delta had decreased or increased its spending on back-end technology over the past decade.

"We have a new CIO who has a go-forward plan to ensure Delta is on the cutting edge of customer service technology while strengthening our IT infrastructure so that it is reliable, redundant and nimble," she said in a statement.

Most big airlines, including the four largest in the United States - American, Delta, United and Southwest - rely on TPF in some form, industry experts said.

In response to questions from Reuters, those airlines did not answer whether their aging systems put them at risk of future disruptions, but all stressed that they are upgrading their technology and are focused on reliability. Southwest, for example, said it is in the process of replacing its reservations system.

Earlier this week, in a video statement, Delta Chief Executive Ed Bastian said: "Over the last three years, we have invested hundreds of millions of dollars on technology infrastructure upgrades and systems including backup systems to prevent what happened yesterday from occurring. I'm sorry that it happened."

US and Canadian airlines are projected to spend an average of 3 percent of their revenue on information technology this year - compared to 8 percent by commercial banks and 4 percent by healthcare firms, according to Computer Economics, a firm that tracks IT spending.

Still, technology experts say that level of spending by the major airlines is not sufficient, pointing to the recent failures as evidence.

Part of the challenge is that US airlines are under pressure from investors to top recent record profits and boost stock prices, even as economic troubles overseas have reduced travel demand.

Delta, for example, is looking to boost its operating profit margin to between 17 per cent and 19 per cent by 2018. That's up from last year's margin target of 14 per cent to 16 per cent.

Fear of Failure Airlines have also held off on making major network upgrades out of fear that systems could fail during the transition, making them feel that they cannot afford to take them down to add equipment, install patches and perform other maintenance, said Gartner analyst Mark Jaggers.

Some consumer groups have called on airlines to do a better job at planning for disruptions like the one this week at Delta, which affected hundreds of thousands of passengers over four days.

"It is unfair to the traveling public that the cost of underinvestment in needed equipment be shifted and placed on the back of air travelers," said travel consumer advocates Paul Hudson and Charlie Leocha in a letter to the heads of the U.S. Transportation Department and US Federal Aviation Administration on Wednesday.

"When fuel prices are low and there's extra cash on hand, they want to spend it on the cool shiny things like planes and mobile apps," he said. "Nobody gets excited about the data center."

Over 90 percent participated in the vote with 53 percent voting to ratify the agreement. This agreement was reached on June 24, 2016, with assistance from the National Mediation Board.

Under the new agreement, all United flight attendants will be joined by a single contract, and united by a shared purpose to build the best airline in the world.

The five-year agreement includes double digit pay increases, enhanced job security provisions, maintains and improves healthcare, protects retirement and increases flexibility.

“This was achieved through increased frequencies to some African destinations, and the upgrading from B737s to B787s and from Embraer E190 to B737s on certain African routes,” said KQ, adding that the revision has enabled it to improve connectivity and allowed it to sell flights to more destinations within the network.

During its full-year financial results briefing, KQ chief executive Mbuvi Ngunze said that its turnaround plan was to ensure that its planes are flying “to the right places.”

In its results for the first quarter of this financial year ended June, KQ said it has revised its network to increase connectivity through Nairobi to have a greater presence in Africa. This comes barely a month after reporting an after-tax loss of $262 million in the 12 months to March this year, up from $257 million a year earlier.

“From a turnover and direct operating costs analysis point of view, about half of the 54 routes are not contributing positively and we are working to turn this around,” said Mr Ngunze.

The revision has led to an increase in numbers from African markets: West Africa reported the highest increase at 15 per cent due to resumption of flights after the Ebola epidemic, coupled with the reintroduction of flights into Bangui. The Djibouti via Addis Ababa route represented an increase of 9 per cent in North Africa.

The airline’s move to change the aircraft on its India and Middle East routes from the wide-bodied B777s to B787s to the narrower B737s could have led to the 28 per cent drop in passenger numbers.

“The change of fleet to India led to a reduction in traffic uptake by 15 per cent while the Middle East and Far East regions were at par with prior years. Passengers to and from India were 14 per cent below prior years, despite the capacity reduction of 28 per cent due to the deployment of the narrow-bodied aircraft,” the airline said.

KQ’s change of operations on the London route seems to be affecting its bottom line, with its capacity to Europe down by 17 per cent. The airline replaced the B777s with the more fuelefficient B787s to service this route.

In March, KQ sold its prized Heathrow landing slot to Oman Air and leased an afternoon one, in a bid to cut the hours its planes remained on the ground at the airport.

“The disposal of KQ’s London morning arrival slot was made in conjunction with Air France, which sold a departure slot in the morning. The transaction fetched KQ $53 million, approximately $15 million more than the highest similar transaction for Heathrow Airport,” Standard Investment Bank revealed in a report.“Despite the decrease of capacity in Europe the uptake of traffic declined by only 8 per cent to 610 million compared with the same period last year,” KQ said.
