IN A UNANIMOUS DECISION THAT ADDS TO THE LANDSCAPE OF LUXURY LIVING IN PARADISE VALLEY, THE PARADISE VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL
APPROVED A NEW HIGH-END COMMUNITY
RECENTLY. The development, currently known as Quail Run, spans over 10.2 acres of land with views of Camelback Mountain to the southwest and Mummy Mountain to the northwest. Located on North Quail Run Road, this luxury enclave will add more upscale homes to Paradise Valley’s real estate offerings.
Developed by Scottsdale-based Tuna Group LLC, with Gordon Berry at the helm as CEO, the project is set on land south of Lincoln Drive and west of Scottsdale Road. It comprises two preliminary plats for four-lot subdivisions, resulting in a total of eight lots ranging from one to 1.3 acres each. Berry, alongside a handpicked team of architects, designers, consultants, and builders, is set to build a boutique luxury community that blends seamlessly with the exclusive character of Paradise Valley.
The approval process was not without its challenges.
Initial opposition from nearby residents concerned about potential traffic increases led Berry to revisit the project’s design. By rerouting access to Quail Run from the north, the developer has successfully addressed these concerns, paving the way for unanimous council approval.
While details about the style and pricing of the homes within Quail Run remain under wraps, expectations are set high, with homes starting at 8,500 square feet. Berry’s vision for the community is one of exclusive luxury, catering to high-net-worth individuals seeking a seasonal retreat or a palatial residence in Arizona. The developer’s openness to customizing lots for buyers desiring more extensive properties underscores the project’s flexible and client-centric approach.
This approval marks another success for Berry, following the green light for the Silver Sky project last year. Located near Invergordon Road and Mockingbird Lane, Silver Sky’s four showcase homes, ranging from 7,500 to 15,000 square feet, are currently being designed, with prices expected to start from $11,250,000.

Desert Sol Jam is not just any music festival. It’s a gathering that encapsulates the spirit of American roots, blending genres like country, rock, and Americana across seven dynamic bands. Headlining the event are Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers, known for their energetic performances and heartfelt lyrics. The Cole Trains, Waves in April, and Prefect, each bringing their unique sounds to create a diverse musical landscape.
A portion of the proceeds will support The Joy Bus, an Arizona-based nonprofit dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of homebound cancer patients. By delivering nutritious meals and a warm smile, The Joy Bus aims to alleviate some of the challenges faced by those battling cancer. Founded in 2011 by award-winning chef Jennifer Caraway, in memory of her friend Joy, The Joy Bus is an example of the power of community and the healing nature of good food and companionship.
Ticket options include VIP access at $150 and general admission at $60.

Family members caring for a loved one living with dementia strive to provide compassionate care but are often frustrated by challenging behaviors. “What worked yesterday often doesn’t work today,” says Dr. Gillian Hamilton, medical director of the Dementia Care and Education Campus. “Even professional caregivers get discouraged and wonder if there is a better way.”
In fact, there is.
The Campus, located in the heart of Arcadia, offers an array of community resources at no charge to families — from in-person support groups that welcome both caregivers and their persons with dementia to online offerings for people who prefer receiving support and dementia education via Zoom.
One popular resource is a series of powerful videos that help caregivers deal with challenging situations. Funded by a federal grant, Hospice of the Valley’s Dementia Program created scenarios that demonstrate how using a personalized approach to caregiving helps preserve dignity, convey a sense of safety, and enhance quality of life. Volunteer actors play the part of caregiver and the people living with dementia. The videos tackle a host of problematic situations, including hygiene, hallucinations, and “wanting to go home.”
Mealtimes can also be contentious. Caregivers commonly speak and move too quickly, rushing the person with dementia. The videos illustrate how taking the time to build a connection and using a slower pace can relax the person with dementia. The caregiver also uses gestures to demonstrate eating and assesses the level of skill in using utensils. And finally, the video show how the caregiver places her hand under the person’s hand to gently guide as he eats, but giving the impression that he is feeding himself. Throughout the entire meal, she provides positive feedback.
Mike, Janice, and Mimi are excited to apply what they learned to support their loved one with dementia.
Another video addresses how to approach someone with mild dementia. When the caregiver enters the room abruptly and rushes “Janice” to quickly stand up and go to the dining room, Janice is rattled and resists. The situation continues to escalate as the caregiver tries to force cooperation.
In the personalized approach, the caregiver stoops to eye level, introduces herself and uses sincere compliments to establish rapport (“I like that color on you, it brings out your eyes”). The caregiver taps into personal preferences (“they have dessert, I know you like that”) and offers her a choice (“do you want cake or pie”). When she calmly extends a helping hand, Janice agrees to follow.
In real life, Janice is caring for her husband of 65 years, with support from his siblings, who also volunteered as actors. “We all wanted to be involved with this project because we are living it firsthand,” she shared. “It’s nice to know this will help other families who are overwhelmed. We learned so much and they will too.”
Playing the part of caregiver is Rebekah Wilson, a former Hospice of the Valley social worker who specializes in dementia care. “I created these training modules to change the way we think about people living with dementia. Why focus on what they cannot do? Instead, let’s enhance life in this moment and celebrate who they are now.”

HI, MY NAME IS… Benjamin McRae, or just Ben.
I’VE LIVED IN PHOENIX FOR 26 YEARS AND I LOVE IT BECAUSE… of the desert hikes and trail runs. The sun beats the rain I had in Oregon. The food, and the freedom and uniqueness in architectural design in this arid climate is something I also love.
A TYPICAL DAY IN MY LIFE INCLUDES… time for me and my physical and metal health, time for my family, and time for Benjamin Studio. My morning begins with a workout, which rotates between the weights at the gym, a 45-minute walk or a trail run. I love my morning coffee after my workout. I often get my kids off to school, a middle schooler and a high schooler. We have a 1-month-old daughter as well, so mornings nearly always include her and
her mom. I head into the office around 8 a.m., which is a small suite above Vita Coffee and Cave and Post near 7th Ave and McDowell. My day is typically planned out with design, production, internal team coordination, and client meetings. After work, I love to spend some quality time with my wife and family, which often includes us cooking a home cooked meal, and connecting about our day. To wind down, I will spend some time reading, and when we have time, watch some TV. With a 1-month-old, our routine includes getting her into her bedtime routine as well.
MY FAMILY IS… the center of my world. I have two boys, 13 and 16, from a previous marriage and a beautiful newborn with my amazing wife, Shauna. We love being together, playing a board game, watching a movie, going out to eat, and try to do a couple trips a year together.
ONE THING I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IS… coffee. That is what first came to mind. One thing is so challenging. Family would be an obvious answer, but outside of family would be coffee, working out, and finding a creative outlet.
MY FAVORITE MOVIE I COULD NEVER GET TIRED OF WATCHING AND WHY IS… I never get tired of watching the original “Star Wars” movies, or “Indiana Jones.” I love sci-fi, action, and a mix of fantasy.
WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I WANTED TO BE… a fisherman. Growing up in a small coastal town in Oregon, I initially
thought I wanted to be a commercial fisherman, or logger. Something to do with the outdoors and industries that employed a lot of people in my town at that time. That did evolve when I was 10 or 12. I began to love drawing, specifically homes. This led me to the desire to be an architect, even though I had no idea what an architect was at that age.
THE SONG I WOULD SING AT KARAOKE NIGHT IS… I used to pick one of two songs, either Guns N Roses –“Sweet Child of Mine,” or Led Zeppelin – “How Many More Times.”
THE ONE PERSON WHO MOTIVATES ME IS… my wife, Shauna. She is an amazing partner who challenges me to follow my dreams, always work on growth and being a better version of myself, and to be a better husband and father.
THE LAST THING THAT MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD WAS… my kids. I love when my kids make me laugh.
THE PERFECT DAY IS… sleeping in just a little bit (I rarely do that) and going for a morning walk with my family to grab a coffee. Or going for a trail run and being in nature in some way. Also, enjoying an amazing dinner with my wife, laughs, and perhaps a Manhattan. Then, winding down with the family with a movie or a game.
MY FAVORITE LOCAL NONPROFIT IS… Boys Team Charity. My boys, my wife, and I are part of a local volunteer organization that supports many local
nonprofits where we spend many hours volunteering. The other would be the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). My youngest son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 3 years old. We have supported this organization for its research and support of Type 1 diabetics.
MY LIFE IS… full. It feels as if every minute of every day is scheduled. Even with this full schedule, I don’t feel overwhelmed, I feel fulfilled.
MY DREAM VACATION WOULD BE… one that I haven’t yet taken, which would be a trip to Italy.
THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED IS… work hard to master your emotional intelligence, and do not personalize anything.
Change is inevitable. Your estate plan might have been perfect when you first did it, but with time comes change, and your plan may need some updates. So, when should you review – and possibly renew – your estate plan?
Have you had any major changes in your life? Has your spouse died? Did you get a divorce? Have you gotten married? Have your children gotten older, and had children? These changes mean you need an update to your plan.
Other changes that may necessitate a change include an increase (or decrease) in your net worth; receiving an inheritance; moving here from another state; buying a second home, rentals, or assets in another state.
When you put your estate plan in place, you made the best choice for who would take charge of your estate at that time. As time passes, that choice may no longer be the best. Has your agent or trustee aged or become ill, or passed away? Looking at who you named as your trustees and agents is an important step in determining if you need an update.
Who are your beneficiaries, and what is their current situation? If you put your plan in place when your children were minors, that’s a clear sign that changes are needed. A beneficiary’s life changes may need to be considered in your plan: a beneficiary who is
going through a rough patch in their marriage or has creditor issues may need protections for their inheritance that weren’t necessary before.
One change that can make a difference in your plan isn’t even something you brought about. Federal or state law may change, necessitating a change to your plan. For instance, in Arizona, the legislature enacted a version of the Uniform Trust Code in 2008. If your estate plan was put in place before 2008, you should update your trust because the law on which it was based has changed substantially
In addition, the federal estate tax exemption fluctuates, and is now $13 million per person, but going down in 2026. Your estate plan might have been put in place when the exemption was much lower (in the 1990s the exemption was only $600,000). You may have needed a complex estate plan to avoid the 40% estate tax. Now, you may not need that complex planning, and a far simpler plan can be put in place for your spouse and children to administer. If your estate plan was created before 2012, you should have a review.
If you know you need changes, or your trust was done before 2012, I am happy to meet with you for either a 15-minute phone consultation or a free initial consultation. Call us at 602-375-6752 or go to libbybanks.com.

Get ready to channel the luck of the Irish with a dazzling science project perfect for kids aged 8 to 14! This experiment combines creativity, basic chemistry, and the festive spirit of St. Patrick's Day.
MATERIALS
• Borax (found in the laundry aisle; remember, it's natural but not safe to ingest or inhale, so handle with care)
• Boiling water
• A wide-mouth glass mason jar
• Green and white pipe cleaners
• String
• A pencil
• Food coloring (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Shape Your Shamrock:
Twist your pipe cleaners into a shamrock shape. You can find shamrock templates online for guidance.
2. Prepare Your Solution:
For each mason jar, mix three cups of boiling water with ½ cup of Borax. The more saturated your solution, the larger your crystals will grow. Stir until the Borax is completely dissolved, and the solution is clear. Add a few drops of food coloring if you wish.
3. Suspend Your Shamrock:
Tie a string around the stem of your pipe cleaner shamrock, then tie the other end to a pencil. Gently lower the shamrock into the solution, ensuring it doesn't touch the sides or bottom of the jar. Place the jar in a spot where it won't be disturbed.
4. Wait for the Magic:
Let the jar sit undisturbed overnight. By morning, your pipe cleaner shamrock will be transformed into a sparkling, crystal-encrusted decoration.
5. Display Your Creation:
Carefully remove the shamrock from the solution, cut off the string, and display it in your window to catch the light.
EDUCATIONAL TWIST
This fun project is not only a great way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day but also offers a fantastic opportunity to explore the science behind crystal formation. Discuss how a supersaturated solution allows for crystal growth on the pipe cleaner's surface, illustrating the principles of solubility, saturation, and crystallization. It's a magical blend of learning and festive crafting!
Get to the root cause of your pain with THE DOCTORS OF PHYSICAL THERAPY
Just three months out of physical therapy school with swelling elbows, hands, knees, and feet, and unable to open jars or use stairs, Dr. Tom Padilla, 25, went to see a physician through his insurance plan. But after reviewing the X-rays, the doctor told him that he “had arthritis and would have to learn to live with it.” He was stunned, as the doctor would not run further tests, and simply offered him anti-inflammatory medication.
Nine months after the diagnosis, seeing other health plan doctors for a second opinion, numerous tests, and trying several unconventional remedies, it turned out to be mold toxicity. Dr. Padilla recovered — and learned a lesson that he applies to his medical practice The Doctors of Physical Therapy (DPT) in Scottsdale.
“Over the past five years of growing this clinic, I’ve made sure situations like mine are not what our clients experience,” Dr. Padilla says. “A lot of our clients come in with the same struggles I had when trying to find a cure for my ailments.”
Those struggles include:
• Doctors who don’t have time for or have no interest in treating the whole person.
• Healthcare providers who don’t know what to do when a patient doesn’t fit into a known diagnosis in the medical system.
• No communication between doctors.
• Doctors who prescribe pills to manage symptoms rather than find the root cause.
“This is why I stress to all of our staff and clients that we’re different for a reason,” Dr. Padilla says. We are continuously working to improve the experience our patients have, and we go to great lengths to make sure our outcomes are as good as possible.
At DPT, Dr. Padilla guarantees:
1. Each of our clients will feel heard.
2. We collaborate between ourselves and other providers in difficult cases.
3. We establish goals that are important to our clients and their lives, not just goals limited to being able to do the day to day.
4. We work to find the root cause and change directions if something’s not working as quickly as we want it to.
During all his health problems, Dr. Padilla was also working in a big box physical therapy clinic he calls a “mill” with high patient volume and very little individualized care. These combined experiences, along with his medical experience, brought Dr. Padilla to Arizona to start a practice focused on the patient, how they deserve to be treated, and the outcomes that are important to them.
“I’m proud to say that overall things are going to plan,” says Dr. Padilla. “DPT has helped more than 1,800 people in seven years to overcome injuries they once thought they’d have to live with forever.”
One point of pride is the results DPT gets for people struggling with back pain or sciatica. “This is a condition that is largely considered ‘chronic and unchangeable’ by the medical community,” explains Dr. Padilla. “For years, opiates have been one of the primary ways to help someone with chronic back pain. Oftentimes the side-effects are worse than the pain! Over the past several years our clinic has focused on solving the root cause of this problem and we’ve helped people that have had back pain for a few months to more than 20 years to resolve their symptoms and get back to the activities they enjoy without it coming back.”
DPT has stuck to its promises. Every plan of care is individualized to the patient. There’s no cookie-cutter approach, no one gets passed to an assistant to do exercises in a corner, and DPT makes sure that there is measurable and meaningful progress every few sessions––otherwise, they change directions.
“We don’t want people feeling stuck or like they don’t know what’s wrong or why,” says Dr. Padilla. “At DPT, we want them to know why they’re doing the things we ask them, and what they can expect to see change and when. That way, if we don’t see those things changing, we can go another direction rather than continuing down the same path expecting different results.”
Dr. Padilla says one DPT patient flew down from Minnesota for care because he was 32 years old, already had two back surgeries, and didn’t want a fusion after being told he had another herniated disc. The patient was due to be a father and couldn’t bend forward to brush his teeth, let alone pick up a baby out of a crib. “Today, Grant is playing basketball, running, and having a blast with his 3-month-old son,” says Dr. Padilla.
Initially, Dr. Padilla’s desire to become a physical therapist was fueled during his years as a personal trainer, when clients would come to him saying they had been unable to overcome injuries despite years of efforts and many different doctors.
He received his doctorate in physical therapy in 2014 from the University of Southern California. “Although our football team has wavered from time to time, our top-ranking PT school has maintained a leading position over many years!” he says.
I’ve been in patients’ shoes, and at DPT we’re on a mission to create a clear path to get people from injured back to a high-quality life where they can be active without needing to take pills or resort to surgeries.
You can find Dr. Tom Padilla on social media @DrTomPadilla, or Youtube @ thedoctorsofphysicaltherapy, where Dr. Padilla shares exercise tips and interviews with local doctors.
“I’m not your typical doctor, and DPT is not the typical physical therapy practice,” Dr. Padilla says. “I’ve been in patients’ shoes, and at DPT we’re on a mission to create a clear path to get people from injured back to a high-quality life where they can be active without needing to take pills or resort to surgeries.”
To obtain a copy of Dr. Padilla’s privately published guide, “Fixing The Root Cause: Beneath The Symptoms of Your Chronic Pain,” you can email info@thedoctorsofpt.com with the subject line “Fixing the Root Cause” with your name, phone number, and address.

On April 2, Arizona will witness an extraordinary surge of generosity as the annual Arizona Gives Day unfolds. This 24-hour online giving extravaganza, initiated by AZ Impact for Good in 2013, is not just a day but a movement that has galvanized the spirit of giving across the state.
With nearly $42 million raised since its inception, Arizona Gives Day illustrates the power of collective philanthropy and its transformative impact on the nonprofit sector.
Arizona is home to more than 20,000 nonprofits, from small grassroots organizations to large charities, all dedicated to making the Grand Canyon State a better place to live. These organizations touch every aspect of life, providing essential services that range
from healthcare and education to environmental conservation and the arts. The economic footprint of these nonprofits is substantial, with an annual impact of $23.5 billion, accounting for nearly 8% of the state's gross product and making the sector the fifth largest non-government employer.
The urgency to support these vital organizations has never been greater. Arizona Gives Day is a lifeline for many nonprofits that rely on donations to sustain their operations and expand their reach. The initiative not only raises funds but also increases awareness about the critical role nonprofits play in our communities and the state at large.
The unique online platform provided by azgives.org facilitates a direct connection between donors and causes they care about. It's a place where stories of
hope and resilience are shared, where the community can learn about the diverse needs across Arizona, and where every donation, big or small, contributes to the greater good. The platform is accessible year-round, allowing for ongoing support through scheduled or recurring donations, but it's on Arizona Gives Day that the state comes together in a remarkable display of generosity.
The benefits of participating in Arizona Gives Day extend beyond the immediate financial boost to nonprofits. It's an investment in the future of Arizona, creating a stronger, more vibrant community for all. Donations not only support the delivery of critical services but also contribute to the state's economy, strengthening it from within.
As Arizona Gives Day 2024 approaches, the call to action is clear: let's unite to support the heart of our state—the nonprofit organizations that work tirelessly to improve our lives. Whether you're a lifelong Arizonan or new to the state, your gift on April 2 will help ensure that these essential organizations can continue their important work.
Together, we can make a lasting impact and demonstrate the true power of collective giving. Your contribution, no matter the size, will help strengthen and sustain the dynamic tapestry of nonprofits that make Arizona a place we're proud to call home.
Let's show the world the generous spirit of Arizona on this day of giving.

On Saturday, April 6, from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Phoenix nonprofit St. Joseph the Worker (SJW) will host its 26th Annual Hike for Hope at McDowell Mountain Regional Park’s Pemberton Trailhead located at 16300 McDowell Mountain Park Dr., in Fountain Hills.
The Hike for Hope event offers participants a choice between a 1.5-mile or 4.5-mile hike, offering a fun and interactive way for people of all ages
and their pets to make a difference in the community. Registration is $50 for adults and $10 for all children under the age of 13 and includes an adult T-shirt and breakfast with coffee. All proceeds will directly empower the nonprofit in eliminating obstacles to employment, equipping clients with the necessary resources to achieve financial success and self-sufficiency.
"As we embark on our 26th Annual Hike for Hope, we are reminded of the power of community and compassion," says Carrie Masters, CEO of St. Joseph the Worker. "Through this event, we not only raise vital funds but also awareness and hope for those striving for financial independence. Inspiring change, step by step, towards a brighter future for all."
With a goal of raising $100,000, SJW has implemented a friendly competition leaderboard on the event page, which highlights the top fundraisers. Hike for Hope participants can register and make
donations as individuals or teams. The top two individual fundraisers will be given prizes. Teams are also encouraged to come in costume. The best team costume will receive a catered lunch for 10 by Helpings Cafe, a social enterprise that helps end homelessness in the community.
In addition, SJW is organizing a 50/50 raffle for the event. Tickets can be purchased online or onsite for $5 each, with the option to bundle three tickets for $10 or six tickets for $20. The winner will receive 50% of the raffle proceeds, while the remaining 50% will directly support SJW. The drawing will take place on the day of the event, and participants do not need to be present to win.
Parking at McDowell Mountain Regional Park is free for event participants. SJW suggests hikers bring a water bottle, sun hat, sunscreen, hiking shoes, and cash or credit cards to purchase raffle tickets, as well as waste bags and a water bowl for pets.

The most amazing time of year is here in Arizona! Spring! The weather is amazing, the trees and flowers are blooming, and the pollen is circulating through the air. For many of us, this change of weather brings on the sneezes, sniffles, coughing, itchy, and wheezing. These symptoms make it difficult to enjoy this beautiful time of year. You don’t have to be miserable! There are some simple, natural ways to reduce your exposure, support your immune system, and conquer spring.
If you suffer from allergies, you may be more prone to illnesses such as sinus infections and other respiratory conditions. Make sure your immune system is in tip top shape before the allergy season begins. Daily vitamin C can boost immunity and can act as mild antihistamine. Local raw honey can be used daily to help prime the system for the upcoming allergy season. A simple nasal irrigation with saline, such as a neti-pot, can help decrease and prevent that stubborn stuffy nose. It is important to correct any nutritional deficiencies such as vitamin D, iron, and B12. These can all be checked via blood work.
Allergy symptoms originate from underlying inflammation and cause an overreaction in the body. Any additional factors that cause inflammation may worsen symptoms. This can include foods, chemicals, and stress. By reducing your toxic load, your body can better handle the allergens.
Choose foods that are nutrient dense such as green leafy vegetables and antioxidant rich fruits. Avoid dairy products, as they can add to inflammation, produce more mucus, and aggravate current allergy symptoms. Reduce processed and high sugar foods and stay hydrated. If you have food sensitivities, avoiding these during an allergy flare up can be helpful.
Work on stress management.
Stress negatively effects the immune system, which results in increased inflammation and a decreased ability for the body to handle allergen exposure. Exercise regularly, get plenty of sleep, and cultivate healthy relationships in your life.
We are exposed to many allergens in our home. I recommend purchasing a good quality HEPA air purifier and running it 24/7 during allergy season (I run mine year-round). Allergen exposure is especially high when we are sleeping, so placing it in the bedroom is beneficial. Just make sure to change and clean the filters regularly.
If you have carpet in your home, vacuum at least twice per week to help decrease your exposure. If allergies are severe and/or you have pets, you may want to consider an alternative flooring. Do not forget to clean your windowsills, blinds, and ceiling fans. They love to collect dust and we often forget about them. You can also eliminate dust mites by placing your pillows, blankets, and kids’ stuffed animals in the dyer on high heat for 10 minutes once per week.
A naturopathic physician can offer a more individualized approach for you and your specific allergy symptoms. This is achieved by treating any underlying illnesses, supporting your foundational health, and decreasing inflammation. This support along with modifying your diet, reducing your exposure, and boosting your immune system can allow you to start enjoying this gorgeous time of year!
Dr. Jenna Dye is a licensed naturopathic physician. Her role is to support the body’s foundation to restore and maintain optimal health. Together with her patients, this is achieved by identifying and removing barriers that may be impacting health while creating a healing environment. For more information visit drjennadye.com.
Does this sound like you? You’ve consulted every specialist for shoulder pain yet find yourself without solutions. Therapeutic massages have brought back the pain — sometimes aggravating it further. Chiropractic care offered only fleeting relief. Physical therapists provided you with exercises that seemed all too generic. A pain management doctor recommended nerve ablation and advised you to cease all activity, while the orthopedic surgeon dismissed you as a surgical candidate…
When shoulder pain plagues your day, seeking solace in sleep is a natural response. But what if resting in a chair becomes just as painful as lying on your side? It's time to unravel the mystery of your nocturnal shoulder pain.
Sadly, many people in search of relief from their discomfort are told by healthcare providers to "wait until it gets worse." What they may not tell you is that you can find relief now.
Take Irene’s case, for example. She had been struggling with shoulder pain for six months and sought a lasting solution, not just temporary cortisone shots, nightly sleeping pills, or ongoing pain medication.
"The worst part was not being able to sleep at night," she says. Despite three months of physical therapy, her condition barely improved. An orthopedic surgeon diagnosed her with a rotator cuff injury but advised waiting for the condition to deteriorate further before considering surgery.
We understood Irene's frustration and acted promptly. After confirming her rotator cuff tear, we discovered a second injury causing her pain.
We introduced Irene to what we call “The Gap” in conventional medicine and showed her how regenerative medicine could bridge it. After choosing to partner with us, Irene underwent two treatments. Within four weeks, she experienced significant pain reduction and finally enjoyed a good night's sleep.
Irene’s experience is far from unique. The standard one-size-fits-all approach often leaves patients without clear guidance or resolution. You don’t need to wait for your condition to deteriorate!
Our comprehensive Deep Dive includes our pain profile, a 32-point shoulder inspection, precision shoulder scan, and diagnostic mapping technique. These tools helped confirm Irene’s source of pain and guided her personalized treatment strategy.

Three British girls set out on a holiday, anticipating the best summer of their lives filled with new experiences and unforgettable adventures.
This was one of the most upsetting experiences I've had watching a movie in quite some time. Molly Manning Walker's debut captures the intensity of what should be fun and how quickly it becomes terrifying. The big parties feel isolating, and everything that is supposed to be enjoyable ends up turning sour. Mia McKenna-Bruce's performance encapsulates the feeling of uncertainty in what should be incredible moments, allowing you to feel the terror alongside her. An astonishing work, even though it is a tough one to experience.
A group of stone-age humans find themselves hunted by a terrifying force.
Simplicity is the best descriptor for “Out of Darkness,” a film that, ironically, is a meat-and-potatoes picture under an hour and a half. Throughout the film, it toys with audience expectations and violently pushes back against them. Desperation and fear drive characters towards their own destruction, yet the film is cleverly patient with its developments. Violence is administered in small doses, making its impact and the resulting hurt felt more acutely when it occurs. By the end, your heart is racing, begging for a moment to breathe.
An outcast girl decides to create the man of her dreams, encountering some destruction along the way.
This film's reception will largely depend on the viewer's appreciation for its camp tone and style. "Lisa Frankenstein" possesses the elements of an over-the-top romantic comedy
yet fails to fully realize its potential. The direction and editing, for lack of a better term, feel lifeless, failing to align with the feverish tone and style it aims for, and rendering the film slower than intended. Additionally, its PG-13 rating constrains the film from achieving the level of zaniness it aspires to, leaving the cast to exert their utmost efforts to compensate. A disappointing venture, considering the talent and potential involved.
The embodiment of darkness assists a young boy in confronting his fears.
"Orion and the Dark" may not reach the heights of Charlie Kaufman’s most acclaimed works, including "Being John Malkovich," but it still demonstrates considerable thoughtfulness and emotional maturity, making it suitable for children. The film's appeal is
significantly bolstered by the likability of the voice cast and a well-balanced mix of humor and thematic depth. So compelling are these elements that viewers may find themselves wishing for more time with the characters beyond the film’s 90-minute duration. While the animation is commendably executed, there’s an inescapable sense that its potential is somewhat constrained by budgetary limitations. Overall, it presents a delightful treat, offering families a distinct alternative to the usual fare.

Is doing everyday things from standing up straight to nding comfortable sleeping positions and even just walking di cult because of sciatica pain? You may nd it hard to focus on enjoying those around you because you’re distracted by your pain. You may have already tried chiropractic, massage, stretching, and exercise, but the di culty is knowing which things will help and which won’t. is can be frustrating because it seems unpredictable.
Some sciatica is caused by muscular weakness and restriction, while others can be caused by sti joints. Ultimately, certain exercises may help some sciatica, but make other types worse. To best help you, I’ve compiled a list of tips that will help anyone with sciatica regardless of the type to reduce daily pain.
Most people with sciatica just want to know if there’s a solution that actually lasts. Solutions that used to work, don’t work any longer. Eventually you nd yourself in a rabbit hole, searching high and low for solutions that hopefully help you avoid surgery. One of my patients, Marian, had tried everything above on top of back surgery, unspecialized physical therapy, pain management, spinal injections, spinal electrostimulation, acupuncture, and dietary analysis. Marian told me, “When you go through this, you learn how many things you can no longer do if you can’t stand or walk.”
Sciatica is so common because many of the solutions out there just take one area into consideration.
e muscles, the joints, nerves, strength, weakness, etcetera. e simple truth is that sciatica is a complex condition with many contributing factors.
e core issue, which has been proven time and again in the best research, is that the body has developed compensation patterns in order to protect itself. ese patterns are hardwired into the brain, and will continue to persist unless they are xed.
is pattern is what CAUSES the tight muscles, and the sti joints. ese tight muscles and sti joints eventually pinch the nerve, causing sciatica. erefore, correcting the pattern is the true root cause. No matter how long you’ve su ered, you can still get your life back. No surgery. No pills.
6 Reasons Why Your Sciatica May Be Lasting Longer than it Should:
1. You tried looking up exercises to do on your own for your sciatica. But with many “causes,” it’s di cult to gure out which exercises are right for you. is is why some exercises can seem to make it better, but some make it much worse.
2. You tried a few relaxing massages and it felt good for a few days but then it came back.
3. You tried chiropractic care and it eased a bit, but the nagging sensation is still there.
4. You tried waiting for it to go away on its own. at didn’t work…
5. You went to the doctor’s o ce, and they gave you pain meds or nerve medication to numb the pain. ey told you to come back in 6 weeks if it didn’t work.
6. You went to a physical therapist who put you on the same exercises everyone else with sciatica gets…then they left you with an assistant who only half watched your technique.
Why What You’ve Tried Hasn’t Worked
If any of these things have happened to you, unfortunately it’s common. e issue with a lot of these methods is that they focus on addressing the symptoms, not the root cause of your sciatica.
Here are 3 things that can make your sciatica pain worse.
Stretching: If you’ve been stretching to x your sciatica and it hasn’t worked yet, it likely won’t. More often than not, sciatica has come up because of tight muscles. Stretching is for short muscles. Tight muscles are tight because they’re compensating for a weak muscle nearby.
Stretching will relieve them for a little bit, but it will come back unless the weakness is resolved.
Crossing Your Legs: Avoid crossing your legs at all costs. is can cause stretching in the back of your hip which compresses the sciatic nerve. It also causes twisting in your hips and pelvis which can put stress on the nerves in your back.
Resting: Certain activities right now might make your sciatica worse, but that doesn’t mean you should restrict all of your movements. If certain things are painful, like walking, lifting, sitting, it’s important to nd the root cause so you can start moving properly and stay active.
How to Fix Sciatica for the Long Term
So many of the “solutions” we try only provide temporary relief because they’re not targeting the root cause. And without getting to the source of the problem, sciatica pain will continue to return because the cause was never addressed.
Marian learned this the hard way, and unfortunately a lot of people do. After addressing the root cause, Marian says, “I’m back to walking 3-4 miles a day; I can lift and hold my grandbabies; I can go to parties without having to sit in a corner; I can go shopping again.” e only thing she’d change? Finding a specialist to help her address the root cause sooner. “I could have avoided a lot of doctors’ appointments and needless and expensive treatments, not to mention losing a couple of years to my other attempts.”
