Celebrates 40-Year Career with Album Release Concert
WORLD-RENOWNED GUITARIST AND VOCALIST JOHN PIZZARELLI COMMEMORATES THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS DEBUT RECORDING WITH THE RELEASE OF “STAGE & SCREEN,” A VIBRANT COLLECTION OF BROADWAY AND HOLLYWOOD CLASSICS. To celebrate the milestone, Pizzarelli will perform an album release concert on Thursday, May 11, at the Musical Instrument Museum, 4725 E. Mayo Blvd., in Phoenix, featuring sets at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. The concert is part of a larger album release tour across the country.
“Stage & Screen,” released last month, via Palmetto Records, showcases Pizzarelli’s exceptional ability to reinterpret classic songs from the past century, taking inspiration from Broadway musicals and Hollywood films. The album features a variety of iconic songwriters and composers, spanning nine decades of music, from the 1925 musical “No, No, Nanette” to the 21st-century stage musical “Honeymoon in Vegas.”
Joining Pizzarelli for the album release concert are the musicians from the album, bassist Mike Karn and pianist Isaiah J. Thompson. Despite a two-year disruption to their touring schedule due to the pandemic, the trio has developed a scintillating chemistry, evident in the sound of “Stage & Screen.”
Throughout his 40-year career, Pizzarelli has dedicated his albums to the great songwriters and performers who have shaped the Great American Songbook and the pop music canon. “Stage & Screen” offers a fresh twist on this rich pool of songs, demonstrating Pizzarelli’s unique ability to breathe new life into these timeless pieces.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to witness the captivating talent of John Pizzarelli as he celebrates four decades of musical excellence.
