Earlier this year, Phoenix was awarded $293 million in federal funds from the CARES Act to address the economic fallout resulting from COVID-19. The Phoenix City Council allocated that funding into three major categories: • Community Services: $75 million • City Operations: $75 million • Reserve to Preserve City Services: $143 million

City Ci ty NNeews Birthday Dreams for Children in Foster Care By Lori Calhoun WHAT STARTED AS A SIMPLE PROMISE TO “DO ONE GOOD DEED A DAY” HAS TURNED ARIZONA HELPING HANDS INTO THE LARGEST PROVIDER OF ESSENTIAL NEEDS TO THE MORE THAN 14,000 CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE IN OUR STATE. Arizona Helping Hands serves children in foster care by providing basic needs, birthday dreams, and more. For over five years, the Birthday Dreams Program at Arizona Helping Hands has been providing age-appropriate gifts to children and teenagers in support of their emotional health and wellbeing. Each year, they provide more than 3,500 birthday packages, which include packages for over 1,500 teenagers. Many times, the birthday package that foster families or caseworkers pick up from Arizona Helping Hands becomes the first birthday present a child or teen in foster care has ever received and the first time their birthday is acknowledged. Arizona Helping Hands believes that birthday celebrations help children in foster care mature to become confident adults. The Birthday Dreams Program creates special memories by providing personally chosen gifts wrapped and decorated by our volunteers. Volunteers “shop” through the warehouse inventory that includes toys, books,
and sporting equipment to find just the right gifts that match age, gender and interests. A party kit is included for the family, complete with banners, cake mix, frosting, and candles. Teenage birthday packages (ages 13 and up) include a duffel bag filled with gift cards, books, sporting equipment, purses and more. The self-esteem of children who are in foster care as teenagers can be especially low. Showing them the community cares lifts them up and lets them know they are important. Arizona Helping Hands depends on collection drives typically hosted by businesses to help fulfill Birthday Dreams requests. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, those drives
are just not able to happen logistically. While the pandemic has slowed donations, the number of children who enter foster care every month has not decreased. Arizona Helping Hands still receives more than 300 birthday dream requests each month, and the gift bins are critically low. They rely on community support to help fulfill Birthday Dreams for children in foster care. Community members can help by visiting azhelpinghands.org where they can shop their Amazon wish list, donate, or bring new unwrapped gifts to the warehouse Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 3110 E. Thunderbird Road, Suite 100 in Phoenix. The most urgent need is for tweens and teens, ages nine and older. These children request gift cards, bath and body sets, Bluetooth earphones and speakers, books, games, and arts and crafts sets. More than 10,500 children have benefited from the Birthday Dreams Program since its inception in 2014. Arizona Helping Hands and their committed volunteers go beyond just fulfilling the needs of children in foster care by working to fill some of the “wants.” Their volunteers carry out vital tasks that would otherwise require staff. City News Getting into Nature in North 32nd By Allison Barnett IN THE MIDST OF UNDOUBTEDLY STRESSFUL TIMES, WE ARE FORTUNATE TO BE SURROUNDED BY BOUNTIFUL OPPORTUNITIES TO STEP INTO NATURE TO EXERCISE OR UNWIND. A wonderful attribute of North 32nd is the ability to enjoy so many outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, walking, and more right in our own backyards or just a short drive away. Here are a few tips from our community on where to enjoy the outdoors: • Peak 2429 also known as Two-Bit Peak or Dixie Peak. It is reached via the L.V. Yates trail off of 40th Street south of Shea. • North Mountain Park off 7th Street offers hiking trails of varying difficulty and a couple of summits with beautiful views as well as a visitor center. • South on 32nd Street until it ends.
Hike staying to right and head to trail VOAZ. It’s absolutely gorgeous. • Take 24th Street and turn west onto Cholla. Trails abound. • Take Shea west until it ends for a variety of hiking opportunities. • If you’re up for a little drive and looking for outdoor and low crowd activity, check out the Sears Kay ruins. It is about 45 minutes just north of Carefree. • The Jewel of the Creek with the beautiful Dragonfly Trail also connects to Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area is just a short drive north near Cave Creek.

City News Arizona Joins The Reskilling And Recovery Network to Help Displaced Workers ARIZONA IS JOINING A COALITION OF 20 STATES, THE NATIONAL GOVERNORS ASSOCIATION CENTER FOR BEST PRACTICES, AND THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY COLLEGES— WITH SUPPORT FROM LUMINA FOUNDATION AND THE SIEMENS FOUNDATION—TO LAUNCH THE RESKILLING AND RECOVERY NETWORK. The Network will equip Arizonans with the skills they need to get back to work and help communities disproportionately affected by economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. “With many workers facing uncertainty due to the pandemic, we need a new approach to ensure all Arizonans have the skills and opportunity needed to thrive,” says Governor Doug Ducey. “The Reskilling and Recovery Network will help Arizonans strengthen their professional skills and learn new ones, and it will connect employers with talent across the state. I’m grateful to all our partners working to help
Arizonans excel in their professions and return stronger from COVID-19.” In Arizona, partners in this effort include the Office of Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, Achieve60AZ, Arizona Commerce Authority’s Office of Economic Opportunity, Arizona Community College Coordinating Council, Greater Yuma EDC, Pinal County Economic and Workforce Development Department, The Boeing Company, and Arizona community colleges: Arizona Western College, Maricopa County Community College District, Pima Community College, and Yavapai College. Experts from the participating organizations will strategize, share tools with each other, and collaborate on technical assistance for virtual activities. Strategies include engaging employers to partner with community colleges to train and hire new employees. “We have to help people acquire new skills and get the training necessary to adapt to the rapidly changing nature of
the workplace,” says Pima Community College Chancellor Lee Lambert. “This is also imperative to help us reach Arizona’s Achieve60AZ goal: that 60 percent of Arizona adults have a postsecondary degree or certificate by the year 2030. We only have ten years, and for the sake of Arizona’s citizens and the future of our state, we need to reach that target.” In June, 10.3 percent of Arizonans were reported to be unemployed, many due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the Federal Reserve, almost 40 percent of people in households making less than $40,000 per year lost a job in March. Lower income workers whose jobs did not lend themselves to telework, women, and communities of color were disproportionately impacted by the pandemic’s economic downturn. The Reskilling and Recovery Network coalition will focus primarily on helping those groups, and will work to find solutions to close the equity gaps that have been further exacerbated by the pandemic.
Salad and Go Hosts Fundraiser to Support Two Local Nonprofits
S
alad and Go is going above and beyond to support the local community by collecting donations for two local nonprofits, Waste Not and Homeward Bound. Through the end of the month, Salad and Go staff will collect donations through their drive-thrus and online orders, providing an easy way for their guests to make a difference. One hundred percent of the donations collected will be split evenly between the two organizations. This isn’t the first time Salad and Go has stepped up to help those in need. In response to COVID-19, they stepped up to meet the growing demand for
food donations and, since April, have donated more than 77,000 salads to nonprofits like Waste Not and Homeward Bound who are serving people in need. With the effects of COVID-19 still being felt via continued job loss, limited access to school resources, and a reduction in unemployment benefits, too many people have found themselves on tight budgets and unable to feed their families. Together, Salad and Go, Waste Not, and Homeward Bound are working hard to fill this gap. The funds raised through this campaign will provide meals and shelter to neighbors in need. “We are thrilled to partner with Homeward Bound and Waste Not. These organizations are working hard to end hunger and homelessness in our community— their work is necessary, compassionate, and truly inspiring. City News Coffee App Highlights Local Shops, Keeps Caffeine Flowing By Jenna-Lee Neff LOVE IT OR HATE IT, COFFEE IS A HOT TOPIC WITH A BIG INDUSTRY. ONE RAGING DEBATE IS BETWEEN LOCAL MOM-AND-POP COFFEE SHOPS OR THE LARGER CORPORATE OWNED ENTITIES. For one Phoenix company, not only is the answer local, but they are making it easier than ever to support small businesses through an app created solely to direct the hopelessly caffeinated to the nearest local shop. GoLocal, LLC recently released the GoLocalCoffee app, designed to bring users directly to a shop that fits their needs without having to sort through Google results and guess at which one will fit their particular style. “You know what they say, ‘There’s an app for that,’” says GoLocalCoffee creator Clint Van Wuffen. “Well, if you like your coffee from local coffee shops, now there really is an app for that.”
For Van Wuffen, the decision to focus on local shops came after six months of data collection and app development, all to make sure coffee lovers could unite somewhere comfortable during work or play. “I always support local,” Van Wuffen says. “With the GoLocalCoffee app, you will have the most up-to-date information on every local coffee shop near you, no matter where you are.” “As an avid coffee lover, I discovered the need for this app while traveling for work several years ago,” he adds. “Unfortunately, the apps I had available often led me to locations of coffee shops no longer in business. It was frustrating. Although the major chains are always nearby, some people don’t want corporate additives, politics and environment. Instead, they prefer the mom and pop atmosphere along with supporting local businesses.” “This app will allow people to find a local coffee shop no matter where they are,” Van Wuffen continues.
In 2018, WalletHub ranked Seattle, Washington and New York City, New York as top two best coffee cities out of the 100 largest cities in America. So how did Arizona stack up? Phoenix ranked in at 38, a full ten spots behind Scottsdale, which ranked in at number 28. Other cities in the state ranked as follows: Chandler (46), Tucson (56), Gilbert (59), Mesa (80), and Glendale (87). With three rankings in the top 50, it’s no wonder Van Wuffen prefers to keep his coffee routine focused on local, small business offerings. Once you have downloaded the app and created an account, you can search for locally owned coffee shops up to 20 miles from your current location and view them on an interactive map or convenient list format. Filters let you search for shops based on places good for working, group friendly, kid friendly and dog friendly, and it even offers dietary considerations such as dairy- free, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan. Other popular filters are types
of payments accepted, seating, Wi-Fi, alcohol, and attire options. While more socially conscious filters include minority owned and gender-neutral restrooms. “If you are looking for a wonderful coffee experience, or maybe you are just tired of the big chains, then you need this app,” Van Wuffen says. “GoLocalCoffee has made it simple and fast.” According to Van Wuffen, he isn’t stopping at coffee. Later this year, GoLocal, LLC will begin working on more GoLocal apps, including GoLocalRestaurant, GoLocalTacos, GoLocalThai, GoLocalBurgers, GoLocalPizza, and GoLocalBeer. The GoLocalCoffee app is now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play and comes with a three-day free trial and a $1.99 per year recurring fee. ‘Quiet Room’ Provides Emotional Escape for Emergency Dispatchers By Jenna-Lee Neff WHEN SOMEONE SPENDS THEIR DAY ANSWERING EMERGENCY CALLS, MANY OF WHICH ARE OFTEN LIFE OR DEATH SITUATIONS, IT IS LIKELY TO HAVE A STRONG IMPACT ON THEIR MENTAL HEALTH. This is the reality for numerous emergency dispatchers in Phoenix, where in 2019 there were nearly a million calls answered for police and fire service alone, according to the city. “Our staff are frequently talking to people in crisis on what may be the worst day of their lives,” says Phoenix Police communications manager Myla Marovich. A study on duty-related trauma exposure in emergency dispatchers showed that they report high levels of peritraumatic distress, which may increase the risk for developing posttraumatic stress disorder. As the study highlights, often emergency dispatchers must quickly assess situations and the dangers involved while remaining calm and having limited control. It was the tremendous emotional weight of the 8 • September 2020 • NORTH 32ND NEWS
work they do that led to the original creation of a ‘quiet room’ as a place for emergency dispatchers to decompress. But according to Marovich, the former room was not very peaceful.

“The quiet room is a place for employees to retreat to when they need some time to relax and gather their thoughts during their hectic workday,” Marovich shares. “Having a place to decompress for a few moments from that high-stress environment is important for our people to be able to perform their best work.”
“Operators were happy with the outcome and grateful for the newly remodeled space,” Marovich says.
Seeing the need to update the space, Phoenix Police Crisis Intervention Team Detective Sabina Taylor reached out to the Rotary Club and pitched the idea of a sponsored, updated quiet room. “She was an advocate for Communications and saw the need to have this space be a more relaxing and usable space for our operators,” Marovich says. “She is the one who spearheaded the project.” To create the new room, a former storage room was repurposed. The first steps in designing the atmo-
Marovich shares that since its creation, feedback on the room has been overwhelmingly positive and shows emergency dispatchers are happy with their quiet get away, with many saying the new space is beautiful and relaxing and comparing the atmosphere to the mood found in spas. “Our operators utilize this space regularly,” she says. “We had operators tell us that now it is something they would actually partake in where before they avoided the room due to the general state of it.” The project took about $5,000 to complete in its entirety. City News Phoenix Public Library Offers Free Help with the College Admissions Process NEGOTIATING THE COLLEGE ADMISSION PROCESS IS CONFUSING IN THE BEST OF TIMES AND THIS YEAR FEELS EVEN MORE CHALLENGING. Luckily, Phoenix Public Library’s College Depot can help. College Depot is a free, full-service college access center that has assisted over 60,000 community members with their education goals. The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) applications cycle opens on October 1 for the 2021-2022 school year. High school seniors planning to attend college beginning in the fall of 2021 need to complete and submit a financial aid application. College Depot is offering free college and financial aid planning workshops as well as individual phone appointments to help students and their families through the process. Get help completing the FAFSA form, learn how to research and apply for

When you ingest CBD, it goes directly to the nucleus of your cells where proteins are manufactured and modulates the transcription of over 1,100 genes for signaling molecules that naturally balance out the body. One group who don’t have the option to social distance from their grandchildren are grandparents raising them. More than 60,000 grandparents in Arizona are responsible for their grandchildren. Below are some resources for grandfamilies. ARIZONA FAMILY RESOURCES Available at azfamilyresources.org, this website—supported by AASK (Aid to Adoption of Special Kids)— provides information on the foster care system, which many grandparents raising grandchildren have to navigate. AASK’s website, aask-az.org, also offers kinship licensing, case management and advocacy. Our mission is to provide those items to the centers, so they can take the time they normally spend fundraising and focus 100 percent on the child.” Superhero September started in 2015 as a one-time promotion that grew each year—so much so, it was the catalyst for creating POTC. “I decided that Superhero September limited me to holding events in just September,” Reavie shares. “I incorporated all events, intellectual properties, and trademarks into Put on the Cape: A Foundation for Hope.”

hether you’re returning to the office and you need a place for your furry family member to go to for help with separation anxiety, or you’re working from home and you need a little space from your active pup, Dogtopia of Paradise Valley Village has you covered. Family-owned and operated, the local iteration of the popular national brand is relatively new to the neighborhood, having just opened over the summer. “We moved to Arizona a couple of years ago and we love dogs, so we wanted to open a dog daycare, boarding facility and spa,” explains Steve Weberman, who along with his wife Elaine, owns Dogtopia of Paradise Valley Village. “Dogtopia was the perfect fit for what we wanted to do. Obviously, opening in the middle of the pandemic was hard, but we have a very loyal customer base and some wonderful dogs we see daily.” Dogtopia of Paradise Valley boasts 5,200 square feet of indoor space with three large playrooms. Each of these playrooms has been specifically designed with your pup’s needs in mind included, according to Dogtopia. “We have three different rooms for different temperaments and sizes,” Curry says. “We have canine coaches in each of the rooms who help with education, play a lot of games, and help dogs to learn social cues.” The dogs even have a set naptime, where pet parents can bring their pet’s beds and blankets from home to enjoy the ultimate comfort. Curry adds that Dogtopia does all it can to make doggie daycare as affordable and convenient for families as possible. So how do they know if your pup is a good fit for daycare or boarding? Steve shares that there is a meet and greet process for each new potential pup client. This includes testing their temperament around other dogs and humans with one of the canine coaches. Health Flu in a World of COVID-19: Why This Year’s Flu Shot is Critical By Dr. Tara Ostrom
I
t’s 100+ degrees out, so you may not be thinking about flu season. However, there are sporadic cases of flu here in Arizona, according to community health data from Maricopa County, and already doctors are recommending people make a plan to get their annual flu shot when it becomes locally available. In addition, this year’s COVID-19 pandemic has shaken our nation and, of the many lessons we’ve learned as a result of this public health crisis, one of the most impactful is the importance of immunizations and vaccinations. For example, in part due to COVID-19, 30 percent of Americans said they are now more likely to get a flu vaccine this year. Unfortunately, many adults still are under the mistaken impression that vaccinations are not needed for themselves or their children or are concerned about side effects. The reality is quite the opposite: in the U.S., vaccines have
greatly reduced or eliminated many infectious diseases that once routinely killed or harmed infants, children and adults. This year, seasonal flu vaccination is especially important as the stress on hospitals will be greatest if the COVID-19 and influenza epidemics overlap and peak around the same time. While it isn’t possible to predict the future, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) believes it’s likely that flu viruses and the virus that cause COVID-19 will both be spreading in the fall and winter. So while vaccination is important, given pandemic concerns, how you go about getting your flu shot may look a little different. Additionally, some common places where people get their flu shots, such as workplaces, may not offer them this year due to social distancing challenges.

W
hen we think about being at our best level of fitness we often overlook the importance of our feet and gait cycle. With respect to the foot, correcting misalignments and enhancing form and function allows athletes as well as non-athletes to work or perform activities of daily living (ADLs). Everyone can benefit when the foot and lower extremities are aligned, supported, mobile, and able to respond to outside forces. What do we think about when studying the biomechanics of our gait? First, we consider the structure of the foot. The foot has three arches: the metatarsal arch, the medial longitudinal arch, and the lateral longitudinal arch. These arches absorb and transfer energy when we walk or run. Second, our movement from heel to toe-off is called a gait cycle. The first part of our gait, the heel strike, is important because it determines how forces are transferred in the foot. hen you decide to sell your home, you want the stress of selling to be over as quickly as possible. There are many factors that contribute to the stress and anxiety of selling. These factors may include: divorce, inheritance, work transfer, new baby, and others. Once you’ve decided to sell, there are only three choices: for sale by owner, traditional MLS listing, and selling to an investor. Each of these choices has its pros and cons, and each comes with a different set of expenses and net cash outcomes. Let’s review the pros and cons of selling your home to an investor. PROS: FINANCIAL If you are experiencing tough financial times, and are having difficulty keeping up the payments on your home, or if your home is in imminent foreclosure, then an investor is the quickest choice. QUICK CASH If for some reason you need quick cash and can’t wait the 30 days for a standard home sale, then an investor can provide a quick close and get you the money fast. CONS: MARKET VALUE As convenient as selling to an investor may be, the cost for that convenience is rather steep. Let’s face it, why would someone pay cash for your home, go through the expense and time of remodeling, then go through the expense of selling, and not make a large profit? They wouldn’t. They must give themselves a 30 percent to 40 percent profit margin. Where does that margin come from? It comes from you. HERE IS HOW THAT WORKS: Let’s say you have a home that has a legitimate value of $300,000, an investor can only afford to pay you 60 percent of the actual value. This means that for the convenience of selling your home quickly, you’ve given away $120,000. Does that make any sense? Unfortunately, many Americans are doing just that. THERE ARE A LOT OF REAL ESTATE INVESTOR SCAMS House flipping is littered with them. In today’s world, there is a network of large investor groups nationwide. Like most scam artists, they talk a good game, but in the end they just want to steal your hard earned equity. How does one prevent fraud? That’s easy: do your due diligence. The first thing you should do is contact a licensed realtor and have them do a comparative analysis of your home’s true value. This is a service that all realtors provide at no charge to you. Unlike real estate investors, realtors are licensed, insured, and are legally required to conduct business in an ethical manner. They are bound by what is called a fiduciary responsibility to their client and potential clients.
The bottom line: inventory in Arizona is at an all time low. There is no reason to sell your home to an investor right now. Speak with a realtor before you sell your home to an investor. It will save you tens of thousands of dollars. he Revocable Living Trust is valuable for many estate planning needs, but one of the most obvious is the avoidance of all the time and expense of probate.
I like to think of your Trust as your treasure chest. Your assets, the things you worked and saved hard to have go into your Trust. While you are alive and able, you are taking care of the treasure chest as the trustee. If you can’t take care of your treasure chest anymore, either because of your death or because you are incapacitated, you have named a successor trustee to step in to take over managing the assets in your treasure chest. How do we put things in the Trust? We title your home, bank account, stock brokerage account and other assets in your name as trustee rather than in
your individual name as owner. For instance, for the home of a husband and wife (we’ll call them John and Ann Smith), we prepare, sign and record a deed to the house. The deed says that John Smith and Ann Smith, husband and wife, convey their house to John Smith and Ann Smith, Trustees of the John and Ann Smith Trust. You do the same thing with your bank account, brokerage account and other assets. With the Trust, while you are alive and competent, you control your financial affairs much the same as you do without a trust. You manage your assets, receive the income, pay bills, buy and sell property and so on. You have full control. Your Trust also designates who will be in charge if you can’t manage things any longer, either because of death of incapacity. The Trust tells the successor trustee how they are to manage the trust
assets and distribute money for your benefit if you are incapacitated. The Trust also contains your instructions for wrapping up your estate and distributing your assets at death. My clients notice very little difference in how they handle their finances once they have the Trust in place and their assets titled in their names as trustees. However, the person who you have asked to be your successor trustee will certainly notice a difference in how much smoother it is to step in and take care of your financial affairs at incapacity or death. Tortilla Flat A Piece of Arizona’s Old West History

hile Arizona has come a long way from its Old West roots as Phoenix becomes one the country’s largest and fastest-growing cities, there are still places that hold a piece of Arizona’s timeless history and transport its visitors back to simpler times, when the not-yet-state served as a mining destination within relatively unexplored land. One of these places is Tortilla Flat, a Western town in the Tonto National Forest approximately 30 minutes outside of Apache Junction. The town’s history dates back to 1904 when it was established as a stop along the Apache Trail and as a settlement for workers who hand-built the Roosevelt Dam. Over the years, Tortilla Flat has had several iterations – even rebuilding on the opposite side of the road from where it presently sits after a flash flood in 1943. More than four decades later, Tortilla Flat was forced to rebuild yet again, after a 1987 fire that began in the restaurant engulfed nearly the entire town. However, the history hasn’t been all disaster – the town has welcomed famous guests including the likes of President Theodore Roosevelt, Clark Gable, John Wayne, and Barbara Streisand. It’s also been home to a zoo and even served as the backdrop of Western films, as well as helping to inspire the book “Thunder God’s Gold,” and subsequent film, “Lust for Gold.” Today, the town is a family-friendly attraction and relic of Arizona’s past. It is a fully independent town and has six residents that call it home. Residents and frequent visitors of Tortilla Flat have seen recent upgrades to the

town property including a revamped menu at the Superstition Saloon and Restaurant and new decorative touches. The town continues to maintain its history as it looks toward its next 100 years, refreshing the look of property, partnering with more local vendors for the mercantile, and remaining a familyfriendly destination. During a trip to Tortilla Flat visitors can enjoy scenic mountain views just minutes away from Canyon Lake, taste southwestern cuisine at the restaurant and saloon, shop Arizonainspired gifts at the mercantile, or try prickly pear gelato at the Country Store – known for being the largest purveyor of prickly pear gelato in the world, as well as a destination for necessary goods and one-of-a-kind food items like prickly pear honey and cactus salsa. Before leaving, all Tortilla Flat visitors should try some of the town saloon’s famous chili, which has been made using the same recipe for 80 years and is now incorporated into Tortilla Flat’s Killer Chili Dog, Chili Burger and the classic Killer Bowl of Chili. Tortilla Flat also boasts a museum that is an exact replica of the schoolhouse where the local children gathered to learn in the 1930s. While exploring the small museum, guests will learn about the development of Tortilla Flat, including the history of its owners dating back through to early 1900s. While it has been modified to meet new regulations due to COVID-19, Arizona Restaurant Week: Dine In or Take Out returns for 10 days of culinary exploration from Friday, September 18 through Sunday, September 27. “We feel not only gratitude but also great pride in the fact that the local dining community has showed up again and again in support of our industry since closures and limited re-opening mandates,” says Arizona Restaurant Association President and CEO Steve Chucri. “We are thrilled to see that dining out — whether that means in-restaurant or getting take-out — is still such an important part of people’s lives.” The new Fall Arizona Restaurant Week: Dine In or Take Out will operate much like the June event, which debuted the modified format including dine-in, take out and liquor to-go options. Fall Arizona Restaurant Week Dine In or Take
Out is intended to allow food enthusiasts to explore new culinary opportunities in any way that they feel comfortable dining while also giving restaurants and local chefs the economic support that they need now more than ever. During the Fall Arizona Restaurant Week: Dine In or Take Out, participating restaurants will follow all CDC guidelines regarding safety measures and limited dine-in capacity. Participating restaurants around the state will offer culinary adventurers dedicated menus that showcase local chefs’ creative talents through innovative dishes. Featuring a unique tasting opportunity apart from their regular menus, restaurants will offer threecourse prix-fixe menus for just $33 or $44 per person. Wine pairings to enhance each course are offered at some establishments for an additional cost. Diners can view a complete list of participating restaurants for Arizona Restaurant Week: Dine In or Take Out at arizonarestaurantweek.com. The list is updated and restaurants’ menus are added as participants continue to join the lineup.
