DICTATORSHIP

A man ponders the question.

Why is there a dictatorship?

Why do I have to listen to this man?

Why do I have to follow his plan?

Why can’t I do what I can?

That’s just the way it must be. So, drop the question and go to sleep.

What if I can’t sleep?

Shall I go take a peek

To find this man’s ugly plan

And try and stop it the best I can?

But no, I can’t.

This man is not a fan of people like me.

That’s why I’ve been in prison

Since 1933.

1

Winter’s First Snow

The nice winter breeze

The joy and cheer around As snowflakes fall down.

2

Haiku

Dogs incredible

They save lives – smart, brave, loving.

Dogs incredible

3

Ship

Ship sails well.

Ship grooves well.

Pole Still

Ship venturing the rocky seas

Ship daring Poseidon in rough seas

Ship begs regularly for land.

Ship has land now.

4

Sloths

Sloths

Calm and lazy Sloths

Cute and furry Sloths

Slow and sleepy Sloths

Relaxed and drowsy Sloths

5

With bursting red seams, Going forcefully into my glove

With a loud pop.

Bounces around the field And gets thrown angrily Gets hits aggressively

And you hear The crowd shout with applause.

Stephen Curry is strong as he can be.

Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter as you can see.

Cross, cross, between, between, all the way to the sea.

As you can see, he doesn’t step on the line.

He goes over the line.

How can a player like that be alive?

The lights go out and he says, “Night, night!”

7

Cheerleading

I yelled to the crowd loud and proud. The crowd had no sign of settling down

With 3 minutes on the clock

With no time to stop. The clock rung And the crowd sprung

With a score of 40 to 6.

8

To sit in the shade on a fine day

To view the beautiful colors

Vibrant waves along the sky

For me to watch until I die

What a beautiful setting

Where I will be heading

9

The Big Brown Tree

Out in the wild, nearby the tree Lies a hummingbird with her babies. The weather got heavy, scarce, and cold.

Then came the winter, the birds were covered in snow.

All of which happened on the big brown tree.

10

Christian Girl

Christian girl wants you to know other people who share my belief are treated horribly.

Christian girl wants you to know God is good.

Christian girl wants you to know when I am with God I feel as strong as ten men.

Christian girl wants you to know I do not care for your mean comments. But just because I do not care does not mean you should say them, they still hurt. God is the light in my life and can be one in you, too.

I know the good of God and bad of sin that is why I chose the good of God. And like it or not, sin will kill you and if you do not know God, it will destroy you eternally.

11

In the snow you can hear the wind blow. Harder and harder it grows Knocking a tree down with one throw. It lay in the snow with nowhere to go. The snow came with every blow. Then the ice began to show. Taking over the tree it began to grow, Crossing the creek creating a sheet. The ice chased and chased, almost creating a race.

12

The crystal blue waters, The sun shining bright, I t even is more beautiful, On starry nights.

13

Beaches

I see the sun rising.

I hear the birds chirping.

I feel the sand in between my toes.

I taste the sour lemonade.

I smell salt water.

14

Mountains

Tall, sharp

Climbing the rocks

Surviving in the caves

Nature’s Breathtaking Beauty

The beautiful sky with the wind in the breeze

With the colorful birds flying high humming of bees

The evergreen trees as appealing as can be

The riverbank flowing rapidly

The sun glowing straight at me

The blooming fragrant flowers are heavenly.

Do you see how lovely nature can be?

16

Loud for everyone to hear Intrepid when things are tough Obedient when told Never hesitates to do what is right.

17

Seasons

Winter, spring, summer, fall.

Flowers are blooming, I love them all.

Then summer came to ruin them all.

Then fall to claim them all.

Then winter came and buried them all.

In her frosty icy snow, she had a ball when she covered them all.

18

Frogs are green. Some are small.

Some are big.

But where are they all?

Some frogs live in forests. Some live in trees.

Some frogs live in the desert. Some frogs will be in the leaves.

Frogs eat bugs.

They mainly eat flies.

But what flies don’t know, Is that frogs will say bye-bye.

19

In the snow of the week before,

There stands a person in the flurry

Under a maple tree.

The

The heat was intense

As I climbed over the fence

To get away from the big, red, dragon.

As I ran away, I felt afraid of the big, red, dragon.

22

Fire

Fire, fire everywhere

On top of mountains and trees

Fire, fire everywhere

23

A leaf slowly falls to the ground gently landing on the ground making no sound. The leaf joins a pile and becomes the newest leaf. In the pile, kids jumping up and down making a loud crunching sound that crackles.

Now the new leaf is crushed like the others in the pile. Nighttime comes. More leaves fall from the tree into the pile making it an inch bigger. Daylight comes so are the kids stomping in the pile making more sound. Nighttime comes again and more leaves

CONTENT WARNING: MENTION OF TRAUMAAND ABUSE

Happy girl wants you to know just because I look happy doesn’t mean I am.

Happy girl wants you to know I don’t live a perfect life. I am a painted rock because I look joyful on the outside, but you don’t know what is inside until I break in half.

Happy girl wants you to know I bottle my feelings, so I don’t hurt others. Sometimes I feel like a soaked blanket that is sitting in pouring rain.

Happy girl wants you to know just because I make people happy with my big smile and kind words doesn’t mean I know how to do it for myself. I don’t like the thoughts in my head.

Happy girl wants you to know I love and respect you all even if you don’t feel the same.

Happy girl wants you to know the number of friends you have doesn’t matter.

Happy girl wants you to know I would rather make everyone in the world happy forever and to take all the pain for myself rather than make myself happy for just one moment.

Happy girl wants you to know that I can help you without any type of price.

Happy girl wants you to know that I have been through some very tough times.

Happy girl wants you to know I had a traumatic injury by “a man who knew best” and now I am scared of most grown men I come around.

Happy girl wants you to know my life isn’t perfect.

Happy girl wants you to know I put everyone’s wants and needs before my own.

Happy girl wants you to know I am scarred for life.

Happy girl wants you to know I know how pain feels.

Happy girl wants you to know you matter to me more than I matter to myself.

Happy girl wants you to know that I know what abuse feels like.

Happy girl wants you to know that I see your “happy” mask too.

Happy girl wants you to know that it is okay not to be okay.

Happy girl wants you to know it does get better.

Happy girl wants you to know your life doesn’t have to be perfect either. So bust open your rock and hang your blanket out to dry. Everything gets better from here if you try.

Happy girl wants you to know that you can find your happiness inside.
