WFUMB 2022/EUROSON 2022 Timișoara, Romania We are waiting for you all in Timișoara between 25–28 May 2022 for WFUMB 2022/ EUROSON 2022/SRUMB Conference 2022.

The organizers are preparing an exciting scientific program with one day of postgraduate courses with different topics – Abdomen, Breast, Musculoskeletal US, Emergency US, Vascular US, Ultrasound for the GP etc., and two and a half days of scientific sessions where the experts will present the newest information in diagnostic and interventional ultrasonography, covering the usual broad range of topics. Finally, special attention will be paid to the presentation of the results of the original research in poster and oral presentation sessions.

Abstract submission deadline – 15 February 2022 Early bird registration fee – 15 March 2022 Regular registration deadline – 10 May 2022 The organizers are preparing also other surprises and invite you all to visit our beautiful town, Timișoara – “The Little Vienna” or “The City of Flowers”, and to discover the Romanian hospitality, even if it is a year later that it was planned due to Covid 19.

World Students Ultrasound Conference (WStUC) World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology had a premiere this year by organizing a series of Ultrasound Webinars dedicated for students and young doctors.

The project was initiated by Prof. D. Nurnberg – WFUMB Student Education Task Force 2019–2021 as a substitute for the usual ultrasound training in pandemic times. It consisted in a series of webinars where renowned physicians and researchers in the field of ultrasound were invited to hold their presentation in a more “student friendly” manner. The project was of notably success and raised a lot of interest among students, thus opening the door towards new projects in student ultrasound teaching.

Next year between 25–28th of May, Timisoara (Romania) will be the “The World Capital of Ultrasound”, organizing three prestigious ultrasound events: The 18th World Federation

for Medicine and Biology Congress – WFUMB 2021, the 33rd Congress of EFSUMB – EUROSON 2021 and the 25th National Conference of The Romanian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology. With so many ultrasound events taking place in one city, the idea of organizing the first World Ultrasound Conference for Students (WStUC-Students Ultrasound Conference, endorsed by WFUMB) was a legitimate one.

After more than one year during which the online interaction prevailed, WStUC will be a great opportunity to resume the ultrasound synergy and communication. The conference will be centered mainly on students and young doctors who are discovering the importance of ultrasound. Lectures form basic to advance, hands on stations, quizzes and meet the expert’s session will play the part of the program. Students Ultrasound Educa-

tion will be also an important topic of the meeting, through which different concepts and dedicated curriculums will be discussed.

Participants will also have the convenience to present their work as a poster or oral presentation in dedicated sessions.

The congress will be held in Timisoara, a strong university center and a multicultural city that will be the “European Capital of Culture” in 2023, at the Regional Business Center.

EFSUMB 50th years anniversary: a call for participation and support February 11, 2022, marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB). Our next EUROSON Congress from 25–28 May 2022 in Timisoara, jointly organised with World Federation of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WFUMB) and the Romanian Ultrasound Society, will provide the opportunity to celebrate the 50 years success story of the European Ultrasound Family. Reflecting on our own roots can open the horizons to how today’s problems can be more easily overcome. Pride in the achievements of ultrasound pioneers, organizers of milestone congresses of EFSUMB and its national member societies, and the developers of new ultrasound technologies should stimulate us to develop new ideas for the future of ultrasound.

We need your support to make this anniversary a success!

These are the 50th anniversary projects for which we need your contributions:

1. Compilation of the “History of ultrasound” section on our website We kindly request all member societies and members of the EFSUMB to add their national ultrasound histories to the “History of Ultrasound” section of our website.

10 national societies already have contributed: Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Norway, Slovakia, Switzerland, Ukraine and United Kingdom.

2. Anniversary booklet We are planning an anniversary booklet on “50 years of EFSUMB” for all participants of the congress in Timișoara. This booklet is intended to make the history of the EFSUMB come alive with anecdotes, photographs, etc., to arouse positive emotions in the sense of attachment to the EFSUMB and to formulate wishes, expectations, perspectives and challenges for the future of the EFSUMB from the “appointed mouth” of former EFSUMB presidents, representatives of national member societies and representatives of the ultrasound vendors. This brochure is intended to illustrate and bring to life the highlights from 50 years inspiring readers to visit the EFSUMB website for more informa-

tion. This is only possible with you, who have experienced and shaped these 50 years. We need your memories, anecdotes and historical photographs – from congresses, meeting, events as well as historical ultrasound images and photographs from historical ultrasound machines. We already have the support of the German Ultrasound Museum, but we need contributions from all over Europe.

3. Anniversary Ultrasound Quiz Please help us by sending interesting historical ultrasound images from your archives and the archives of your teachers and companions to create an Anniversary Ultrasound Quiz for the Congress in Timișoara. We need good quality historical ultrasound images from the archives of ultrasound pioneers and ultrasound companies with comments and related questions.
