Then, the blame goes against the situation, person or thing that affected your life. However, almost no one thinks or blames him/herself for that particular situation. Yes, it could probably be a combination of the three scenarios, losing control, not doing it right and taking the wrong path! You, should be the person to take full responsibility. Being self-aware is being conscious of your character, desires and feelings towards everything that surrounds you. It lets you evaluate yourself in relation to others. This is not about judgment it is about your perspective only. For example; you like to express your feelings towards your family and friends. Others around you are not, however they welcome your initiative to demonstrate your feelings. You feel good getting those things out of your chest, no matter what others think. “What has changed is that my life then was less difficult and my future seemingly less gloomy, but as far as my inner self, my way of looking at things and of thinking is concerned, that has not changed. But if there has indeed been a change, then it is that I think, believe and love more seriously now what I thought, believed and loved even then.” Vincent Van Gogh

The process of identifying yourself is something you work with time, it just doesn’t come and go, it is always there inside you, it is only a matter of discovering your truth feelings and desires to be able to be really conscious on any given situation, start becoming self-aware. Once you gained control over the identification of yourself, it takes up to your inner self to keep them up to date. are completely being influenced by what that person, thinks, feels, expresses. What about you? Where do think you will end up? You will be completely lost on the translation of identification. Most explicit could not had been put by one of the most iconic figures of the late 20th Century, Steve Jobs on one of his most famous quotes. “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinion drown out your inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.” Steve Jobs

The best process to identify yourself is to sit and think about your present situation, what are the things that you like to do, what are the pros and cons over the relationship you have with everyone around you. After you have identified all of the important positive as well as negative aspects of your life, then you will be ready for the next chapter which is, learning to listen to your inner self. MIND VS. BODY When it comes to talking about the inner self, people tend to disconnect body and mind. There is no such thing. Your mind is your body. Your body is the interpretation of your mind. Your mind directs your fingers to work, your legs to move, all of your body parts to work as needed. Your sight, is your mind thru your eyes. Your hearing is your mind thru your ears. The mind takes the shape of your body. What you express is what you become. What you physically do is how you are perceived by others.

Then the inner self is your mind speaking thru you, an inner voice only YOU can hear. When you feel ill, your mind sends signals from that specific body part that had been affected, it’s a call for attention! When you have a personal issue that requires an action to be taken, your inner self comes to the rescue, prepares you for a solution then you must listen carefully however if you are not ready, don’t take action. Sit and analyze, later when you’re fully aware, make the decision. Doesn’t necessarily have to go with what others would like to hear, it is an honest response from YOU, only. Discovering your inner self, is knowing who you are. “Your understanding of your inner self, holds the meaning of your life.” Leo Tolstoy

All of us, whom want to become self-aware and explore our inner self, have a long process to go thru in life, however once accomplished, your mind will appreciate it. The process to shape up your mind is not easy. It comes with perseverance and within lies the aspects of your present life. Which will then guide you wisely and you will have had learned to love yourself the way you are, and understand those around. You need it. It is a compromise within YOU and cannot let go.

EXERCISE * INNER SELF * Find a space where you feel comfortable. Standing up, embrace your body, with your arms around you. Hold tight. Closing up your eyes, tell your mind to guide you thru your whole body, at the same time thank each of your body parts. Open up your eyes when done. Take a deep breath, release. Your mind speaking thru you, that is your inner self, learn to listen. You can repeat exercise as many times needed.
