MEET THE EFR The Economic Faculty association Rotterdam (EFR) was officially founded in 1964. Forty-nine years later, the EFR has distinguished itself by establishing a reputation of being one of the largest, most active and professional student organisations in Europe. The EFR has over 4500 members of which more than 130 are Active Members who voluntarily commit themselves to organising activities for fellow students. The EFR is the official study association of the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE) and is not to be confused with a fraternity or a student association.

WHAT WILL YOU GAIN? Personal
Social
Learning to handle stress, providing effective feedback, receiving criticism and making decisions around tight schedules are important skills that are not easily picked up in the classroom. You might have had a time management class, or read something about giving feedback but it is only after you have put it into practice that you begin to understand the fine nuances of these soft skills.
The EFR organises tons of social activities each year. As a committee member you can participate in almost all of them! From our own introduction weekends, Active Members Prom, parties, Active Members weekend, our monthly social drink and other get-togethers, there is always something going on. You will grow a very strong bond with your committee and other EFR Active Members.
Professional In some ways, a year in a committee of the EFR motivates you to take a look into the mirror and confront yourself with the facts. Nobody is perfect and you might make mistakes, or lose your temper, but luckily you are not alone! Counting on your team and receiving their feedback will provide you with something of immeasurable value.

EFR-Board
Active Members Academy
As a committee member you are not alone in doing your tasks. The EFR-Board is there to help you when needed. Every committee has one supervisor from the board, who will guide you through your year. The EFR-Board consists of eight senior students with committee experience who are dedicating one full-time year to the EFR. They have been in your position and are always there to help.
The Active Members Academy is there to help you to grow and develop yourself whilst keeping your future career in mind. You and your committee will receive training as Active Members and per committee position. For example, the Marketing Committee will get an InDesign course for free, the Commercial Team will get a commercial training and all of the Active Members have the opportunity to develop themselves in unique ways. Think of trainings in cooperation with leading companies like J.P. Morgan, McKinsey or YER, but also trainings focused on your personal development. A year at the EFR will make you learn more things than you have ever imagined!
HAVING FUN With your committee
With all the Active Members
As a committee member you are bound to have fun with your committee. You have meetings every week, but you can also go and have dinner, go and get some drinks in the city or have a committee weekend! The supervisor from the EFR-Board is happy to come along with these fun activities.
The Active Members Weekend, the EFR-Prom and the other activities the High Five Committee organises are there for you as an Active Member only! All the Active Members join, which means you are partying with more than 130 students! You can also join the different trips the EFR organises, like the Ski Trip or the City Trip. One thing is for sure, you are going to have a lot of fun as an EFR-Active Member.

FULL-TIME OPPORTUNITIES Every year, the EFR offers three opportunities to apply for full-time positions:
EFR-Board The EFR-Board consists of eight students who have committed themselves to guide the Economic Faculty association Rotterdam through an adventurous year. They are responsible for everything that concerns the EFR and together with more than 130 Active Members they realise the greatest activities in Rotterdam. Every year the EFR is proud to welcome world leaders such as presidents of different countries, CEOs and secretary-generals of the UN. All these activities cost a lot of time and effort. The EFRBoard is there to make sure that all of these things are carried out and the association is lifted up to a new level each year. Every year in May a new group of students is recruited for the full-time Board.
EFR-Business Week committee Do you want to organise the most prestigious week of the EFR? In 2014 the 30th edition will be held, which makes the EFR-Business Week the oldest congress and recruitment event on campus. Six dedicated students work full-time

on this project from August until April. We are looking for students that want to stand out of the crowd and really want to accomplish something. Every year in May positions for Chairman, Commissioner Opening Day, Commissioner Company Days, Commercial Commissioner, Commissioner Conference Day and Commissioner of Marketing are recruited.
Erasmus Recruitment Days committee The Erasmus Recruitment Days committee organises the biggest on-campus recruitment event in the Benelux. Around the 100 companies and 2400 students are participating in the Erasmus Recruitment Days, a joint venture between the EFR and STAR. This two-week event will take place in the beginning of February. Seven students are working full-time from August until February to make this happen. Each year in May the Chairman, Treasurer, Commissioner Marketing, Commercial, Editor-in-Chief & IT and Commissioner of Event are recruited.

ERASMUS ENTREPRENEURIAL NETWORK Positions CHAIRMAN / EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION / MARKETING / PROJECT MANAGER The Erasmus Entrepreneurial Network is there to enthuse students about entrepeneurship. For the second time, EEN will organise Get in the Ring, the Investment Battle in collaboration with HOPE. In November 2013 young startups will pitch for a C100.000 - C1.000.000 investment from 5 investors in front of a full auditorium! Apart from that, you will have the opportunity to use your entrepreneurial skills to set up a new event.

Positions CHAIRMAN / PROJECT MANAGERS The EFR-Sport Committee will be in charge of all the Sport events of the EFR. Firstly, they will organise the EFR-Ski Trip to a destination of your choice with 100 enthusiastic students! After this, you can use your own creativity to introduce new possibilities for the EFR-Members. A futsal tournament, a football tournament in cooperation with Excelsior, something really creative? It is all up to you!! We are looking for people who like a party now and then, but are also serious enough to organise a whole trip for a big group of people and other activities for our members.

ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE Positions CHAIRMAN/PROJECT MANAGERS
The Activities Committee is one of the oldest and most prominent committees of the EFR. Being a member of this committee your organisational skills will be challenged and developed. You will be in charge of a broad range of projects. You will start with organising the City Trip - a long weekend in a big city in Europe. In times of political elections, the committee will organise the EFR/EenVandaag Political Debate, one of the most prestigious events of the EFR broadcasted on national
television. You will also be responsible for the organisation of the EFR-Consultancy Charity Game and the promotion of the EFR during the Eureka Week! We are looking for highly motivated students that are goaloriented and have affiliation with organising events.

INVOLVE COMMITTEE Positions CHAIRMAN / TREASURER / COMMERCIAL / PROJECT MANAGERS The Involve project is a two-year-old and a unique project on campus. The EFR-Involve Committee will be organising a research project where students can use their academic knowledge to improve situations in developing countries. Last year the second edition of the EFR-Involve project commenced; a group of 20 students did desk research about a social enterprise in the Netherlands, and field research in Ghana for three weeks to verify their findings. The EFR-Involve Committee has the challenging task to set

Then the High Five is the committee to apply for! The Active Members Weekend, the Active Members Prom and the End of the Year Activity are some of the events you will successfully organise. In addition there is room for any activity that will bring the Active Members of the EFR together.

COMMERCIAL TEAM Positions COMMERCIALS The Commercial Team is responsible for managing the commercial relations of the EFR. As a member of this committee you will work closely together with the Commercial Officer to monitor the existing company network, finance events and attract new partners. You will be responsible for the capital raising for major events such as the Orientation Cycle, Involve and the Eureka Week. You will be actively involved in each of these
projects since you are the bridge between the organising committee and the business world. We are looking for highly motivated students who are strong communicators and are representative. ORIENTATION CYCLE COMMITTEE Positions CHAIRMAN / PROJECT MANAGERS In collaboration with the Erasmus School of Economics and the master study associations Eureos, FSR, Maeur and Transito the EFR organises the Orientation Cycle. This event consists of five different Orientation Days and provides students with the opportunity to explore the career and study prospectives of different fields of (business) expertise. As a member of the Orientation Cycle Committee you will be responsible for the companies, speakers and content

CHAIRMAN / DESIGNER ALMANAC / PRINT AND ON CAMPUS PROMOTION / DIGITALISATION AND SOCIAL MEDIA The Marketing Committee is responsible for the image of the EFR and the promotion of EFR s activities. You will design promotional materials and brainstorm with committees about creative ways to promote their event. In addition, you will be responsible for the creation and design of the EFRAlmanac. The variety of activities in a year makes the EFRMarketing Committee one of the most interesting and fun committees of the EFR. We are looking for people with skills in marketing, creative minds, design heroes or people with affinity with IT. We offer design courses for the Marketing Committee, so do
not worry if you are not a great designer yet, we will make you one! You can perform surveys amongst all EFR-Members, order gadgets, create stunning designs or conquer the campus with all our promotion. Can you think outside of the box?

E.P.I.C. ERASMUS POLITICAL AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS CLUB Positions CHAIRMAN / PROJECT MANAGERS All events organised by E.P.I.C. have something to do with politics. In the beginning of the year you organise a Student Debate on campus. After this debate you will organise the trip of the EFR delegation to the London Model United Nations (LIMUN). This amazing conference usually takes place around February and last year we went to London and it is up to you to make sure the participants are well

This is one of the oldest committees at the EFR, because we think it is important for first year students to develop themselves. The activities focus on the social side of student life, for example the Casino Night or the Pub Crawl. At the end of the year you organise the Introduction Weekend, where you spend the weekend with 100 new economics students and

The interviews start the 17th of June. The interviews will take fifteen minutes up to half an hour, and will be taken by 2 members of the EFR-Board.
