Do you want to organise the most inspiring event on campus? Do you want to be part of a team of six students working intensively together and end up as six good friends? Do you want to experience how life after your studies can be, putting your knowledge and skills into practice? If your answer is yes, yes and definitely yes, the EFR Business Week Committee is your chance to achieve these goals. With five fellow students you will spend your time finding creative ways to renew this prestigious event. Every day you will encounter many different aspects of organizing such an impressive event, ranging from being the contact person for renowned speakers such as Jeroen Dijsselbloem and Sigrid Kaag, to project planning and managing a giant budget. Though you will have a specific position within your team, you will be working very closely together
with your fellow committee members. This intense fulltime working environment is a valuable experience and helps you gain all kind of teamwork skills, but more importantly, friends for life. Besides your fellow Committee Members, you will meet a lot of new people and enjoy many unforgettable moments with your committee, the EFR Board and the other EFR Committee Members. By organizing the EFR Business Week you get the opportunity to combine a full time working experience with for example an internship, traveling or a few courses after the event in April 2017. Throughout the year you will have the opportunity to develop yourself by professional trainings and a specific coaching. Furthermore, by participating in this committee you will learn hard skills and soft skills as well, this is definitely an advantage in your future career.

INTRODUCTION The EFR Business Week is one of the most professional and prestigious student organised conferences in Europe. Every year in April, the EFR Business Week takes place at Erasmus University Rotterdam and other locations in the Netherlands. Organised by a committee of six students, the EFR Business Week has proven to be the highlight of the year at Erasmus University Rotterdam and continues to attract prominent speakers from many fields of expertise and from all over the world. Every committee member is responsible for one part of the EFR Business Week such as the World of Business, the Conference Platform and the Career events. The Commissioner of Marketing is in charge of all the communication towards the students and the Chairman stays up to date on everything that is going on, is treasurer and has the final responsibility. As a team, you are challenged to innovate the EFR Business Week by thinking of new events to organise. Although everyone has their own tasks, everyone works together to make the EFRs showpiece a success. Do you want to have the incredible feeling of working towards a common goal, and succeed? Learning to handle stress, working in a team, providing effective feedback, receiving criticism and making decisions around tight schedules are important skills that are not easily picked up in the classroom. You might have had a time management class, or read something about giving feedback but it is only after you have put it into practice that you begin to understand the fine nuances of these soft skills.
The EFR organises tons of social activities each year. As a committee member you can participate in almost all of them! From the introduction weekends, parties, Active Members weekend, our monthly social drink and other get-togethers, there is always something going on. You will form a very strong bond with your committee and other Committee Members.
As a fulltime Committee Member at the EFR you will gain a lot of skills during the year by doing. In order to get the most out of this, your professional development will also be supported by several trainings throughout the year. Next to this, you will gain a professional network and learn more about a large variety of companies and the job opportunities that they offer.

As a full time committee you are not alone in doing your tasks. The EFR Board and the EFR Advisory Board or ‘RvA’ are there to help you when needed. The committee will be supervised by the Project Manager General, Commercial Officer and Treasurer. Together they form the Supervisory Board and guide you throughout the year. The EFR Advisory Board consists of former EFR Business Weekand Board Members and meets every six weeks with the BW committee. Within the EFR Advisory Board, you will be assigned a ‘buddy’ for the year who will give advice when you need it.
Besides all the practical experience, the EFR offers its Committee Members trainings by professional companies. At the start of the year you receive a very effective training to improve the teambuilding process. During the year you have the opportunity to receive more trainings, specified on your position within the committee, for example a commercial training for the Commissioners Commercial Events.
The EFR Business Week Committee is full time from September until April. During this time you will not be able to work next to your Business Week responsibilities. The EFR will compensate you for your time by providing you financial means.
CHAIRMAN As chairman of the EFR Business Week you are the leader, inspirator and motivator of the team. You are the one that will keep the team together. Because you have the best overview over the whole event, you will be the treasurer of the committee as well. You will stay in touch with the treasurer of the EFR Board and make sure the budget is sound. This means you have to be a strong leader, be responsible and be a good communicator. Can you lead the most important committee of the EFR?

COMMISSIONER WORLD OF BUSINESS
COMMISSIONER CONFERENCE PLATFORM
You will be responsible for the content and the execution of the biggest student conference of Europe. During the year you will meet extraordinary people that will change your view on the world completely. While doing this you will convince speakers and organisations to join you in your mission to inspire and motivate your fellow students and offer them a totally new experience. Therefore you need to have bold networking skills, pragmatic creativity and broad interests and capacities. Are you that person?
As the Commissioner Conference Platform you are responsible for the most interactive day within the EFR Business Week. The strength of the Conference Platform lays in its intimacy, characterised by its personal setting and contact. At the Conference Platform students are given the opportunity to face some of the most powerful business-people, influential politicians and innovative entrepreneurs of today. In order to make this day happen you need to be up to date on the latest news and trends, enthusiastic, flexible and precise. Do you want to enrich students’ lives?

2X COMMISSIONER COMMERCIAL EVENTS As Commissioner of Commercial Events, you are responsible for the commercial aspects of the week. You will organise the career events such as the Inhouse Days, the Company Dinner and Bootcamps. You are challenged to think of new events to help students find their future employers and create your own vision on the commercial side of the event. You will receive commercial trainings from professionals and close guidance from the Commercial Officer

of the EFR Board. Both commissioners will be in touch with many different companies, take a look behind the scenes and engage in negotiations. The better you perform, the greater and more prestigious your events can be! Therefore you must have good social, negotation and persuasion skills and must be willing to take the initiative and take risks. Can you reach the target?
COMMISSIONER OF MARKETING As the Commissioner of Marketing you are responsible for the promotion of the EFR Business Week. You will develop a marketing strategy and you have to make sure students recognize the EFR Business Week brand. Creativity is the asset you must have to think of cool marketing stunts and other new ways to get students to subscribe for the EFR Business Week. Besides this, planning, clear deadlines, and good communication skills will help you to make the event a success.

After you have applied you will be invited for an interview. You will be interviewed by two EFR Board members. We want to know about you, and why you want to apply for which position. There are two rounds of interviews. After the second round you will hear if you are selected for the EFR Business Week 2017!
Application Process You can apply for a position in the EFR Business Week Committee by sending an e-mail with your CV and motivation to challenge@efr.nl. When applying, we ask for a short motivation and your CV. This is nothing to worry about, your CV is not as important as it will be in a few years. Right now, the CV is a good way for us to keep track of the people applying for our committees and get to know what they are interested in. Do not worry if your CV does not look too great yet, in fact, the EFR is there to help you fix that!
