Do you want to organise the most inspiring event on campus? Do you want to be part of a team of five students that work intensively together and end up as six good friends? Do you want to put your knowledge and skills into practice and experience what it is to work on an immense project? If the answers are yes, yes and definitely yes, the EFR Business Week committee is your chance to achieve these goals. With four fellow students you will spend your time finding new ways to innovate this prestigious event into your own event. Every day you will encounter many different aspects of organising such an impressive event, ranging from being the contact person for renowned speakers such as Franรงois Hollande and Vesna Pusic to project planning and managing a huge budget. Besides this, you will be in contact with many fortune 500 companies and other external parties such as the University.
Eventhough you will have a specific position within your team, you will be working very closely together with your fellow committee members. This intense fulltime working environment is a valuable experience and enables you to gain all kind of teamwork and soft skills, but more importantly, friends for life. Besides your fellow committee members, you will become part of the EFR and meet a lot of new people such as the EFR Board and other EFR committee members. With your committee you will create and enjoy many unforgettable moments throughout the year. By organising the EFR Business Week you get the opportunity to combine a full time working experience with for example an internship, traveling or a few courses after the event in April 2019. Throughout the year you will have the opportunity to develop yourself personally by following professional and specific trainings. Furthermore, by participating in this committee you will learn hard skills and soft skills as well, this is definitely an advantage in your future career.
the EFR Business Week The EFR Business Week is one of the most professional and prestigious student organised conferences in Europe. Every year in April, the EFR Business Week takes place at Erasmus University Rotterdam and other locations in the Netherlands. Organised by a committee of six students, the EFR Business Week has proven to be the highlight of the year at Erasmus University Rotterdam and continues to attract prominent speakers from many fields of expertise and from all over the world. Every committee member is responsible for one part of the EFR Business Week. As a team, you are challenged to innovate the EFR Business Week by thinking of new events to organise. Although everyone has their own tasks, everyone works together to make EFR’s showpiece a success. Do you want to have the incredible feeling of working towards a common goal and succeed? Who are we looking for? We are looking for enthusiastic students, who are ready to dedicate eight months to aim for one single goal: making the EFR Business Week 2019 a success while also developing themselves professionally, socially and personally. Learning to handle stress, working in a team,providing effective feedback, receiving criticism and making decisions around tight schedules are important skills that are not easily picked up in the classroom.You might have had a time management class, or read something about giving feedback but it is only after you have put it into practice that you begin to understand the fine nuances of these soft skills.
EFR organises tons of social activities each year. As a committee member you can participate in almost all of them! From the introduction weekends, parties, Committee Members weekend, our monthly social drink and other get-togethers,there is always something going on. You will form a very strong bond with your committee and other Committee Members.
As a full time committee you are not alone in doing your tasks. The EFR Board and the EFR Advisory Board or ‘RvA’ are there to help you when needed. The committee will be supervised by the Project Manager General, Commercial Officer and Marketing Officer of the EFR Board. Together they form the Supervisory Board and guide you throughout the year. The EFR Advisory Board consists of former EFR Business Week and EFR Board Members and meets every six weeks with the BW committee. Within the EFR Advisory Board, you will be assigned a ‘buddy’ for the year who will give advice when you need it.
The EFR Business Week committee is full time from September until April. During this time you will not be able to work next to your EFR Business Week responsibilities. EFR will compensate you for your time by providing you financial means. You will get a financial compensation for buying your EFR Business Week suit and you will receive a compensation of 230 euros per month. This whole amount will be paid out after the Business Week is done.

As a fulltime committee member at EFR you will gain a lot of skills during the year by doing. In order to get the most out of this, your professional development will also be supported by several trainings throughout the year.
Next to this, you will gain a professional network and learn more about a large variety of companies and the job opportunities that they offer.
Chairman
Commissioner World of Business
As Chairman of the EFR Business Week you are the leader, motivator and the supporter of the team. Your main responsibility is to lead your committee members in the right direction and to make sure the corporations within the team run smoothly. Therefore, as the Chairman, it is expected of you to have to best overview over the entire project.
You will be responsible for the content and execution of one of the largest student congresses in Europe. During the year you will meet several inspirational world citizens, that will change your view on the world. You will have to convince speakers and organisations to join you and share their personal story with your fellow students to create a unique experience. To accomplish this, you need to have bold networking skills, a creative mind and broad interests and capacities.
Furthermore, you are also the Treasurer of the committee and responsible for the budget of the EFR Business Week. You will work closely with the EFR Board to ensure everything is going as planned. This means you must be a strong leader, have a high sense of responsibility and be a great communicator. Can you lead the most important committee of the EFR?

Commissioner Conference Platform As the Commissioner Conference Platform you are responsible for the most interactive day within the EFR Business Week. Students get the chance to share and discuss their own ideas with distinguished guests. Due to the many different components in the programme you need to be up to date on the latest news and trends, have insights in the interests of students and take in account many organisational factors to create the right balance during the programme. In order to provide you with the best insights, you get the opportunity to attend large and interesting congresses and you will plan meetings with industry professionals. Are you up for a complex and fun challenge?

Commissioner Commercial Events The Commissioner of Commercial Events is responsible for all career orientated events. It is your task to link students and companies in the best way possible and provide them both with a valuable experience. You will improve your sales skills by trainings from professionals and work closely together with the Commercial Officer of the EFR Board. As a Commissioner of Commercial Events you will be in touch with many different companies and so it is a great opportunity to discover their differences. This year, the EFR Business Week will have place for only one Commissioner of Commercial Events. As time passes you will notice that you are getting closer to your target and you feel more comfortable taking risks and initiative to pursue the most prestigious EFR Business Week so far. Can you make this happen?

Commissioner of Marketing As the Commissioner of Marketing you are responsible for the EFR Business Week brand in every aspect. This means communicating the EFR Business Week presence everywhere. Your purpose is to let know every student, company and speaker what the EFR Business Week is: a bridge between the students, companies and prominent speakers. You will be developing all the promotional material, update the website, take care of the “huisstijl”, decide which stand there will come and be responsible for the stunts. It’s your job to connect students to the right events! You will learn to be creative and a teamplayer, you will have to cope with deadlines and you will have to show confidence in this position. Are you the new Commissioner of Marketing?

You can apply for a position in the EFR Business Week Committee by sending an e-mail with your CV and motivation letter to challenge@efr.nl After you have applied you will be invited for an interview. You will be interviewed by two EFR Board members. We want to know more about you, and why you want to apply for which position. There are two rounds of interviews. After the second round you will hear if you are selected to organise the EFR Business Week 2019!
