MATHS MASTERCLASS
Last Friday afternoon, Year 5 pupils from local schools visited Effingham Sixth Form for their third Royal Institution Maths Masterclass of the year. Year 12 pupils, Abbie, Gabi and Grace, led a wonderful session on powers of ten, guiding the younger pupils through a series of activities, group work and problems to further their knowledge of this topic It was rewarding to see the younger pupils work out for themselves the value of any number to the power of zero, and how to multiply and divide by powers - concepts that they will only be learning in the classroom once they reach the Senior school. The Maths Masterclass was designed by Abbie, Gabi and Grace, creating the resources and activities themselves Well done on putting together a superb session.

YEAR 9 TRUST SCIENCE WORKSHOP
What an incredible day of discovery! Our Year 9 pupils from all three schools in the Trust were treated to an action packed rocket science show, complete with explosive demonstrations, swirling smoke rings, and plenty of wow moments that had everyone on the edge of their seats
The excitement continued in the workshops, where pupils worked in small teams to design and build their own compressed air rockets before heading out onto the field to launch them sky high! From Year 9 the winning team was from Manor House, sending their rocket 120m!
A brilliant day of curiosity, creativity, and collaboration, and a perfect way to celebrate Science Week.

YEAR 7 TRIP TO WINTERSHALL
On Tues 10th March Year 7's enjoyed a wonderful morning out visiting Wintershall and in taking part in a Lenten retreat walk. Pupils met actors and learnt about the enduring story of Christ's Passion
Pupils reflected deeply on the Stations of the cross and experienced live drama sessions.

SKI TRIP TO AUSTRIA
We are delighted to announce the 2027 St Teresa’s ski trip will be taking place in Austria. All pupils from current Year 7-10 are welcome.
We will fly to Salzburg where we will transfer by coach to our resort staying at the Menternwirt Hotel in St Michael The Gasthof Mentenwirt is a traditional, family-run accommodation, located just 600m from the Sonnenbahn gondola. St Michael is a pretty Austrian village with many shops and cafes.
Lungau in Austria offers a sun-kissed winter wonderland with over 250 km of perfectly groomed slopes, reliable snow and varied runs for all abilities – from gentle cruising to thrilling descents The ski resorts in this region tend to be an oasis of calm and tranquillity due to lying protected from storms behind the Tauern mountains. Slopes are perfectly prepared and there is an excellent ski lift network with modern lifts, meaning queuing is almost non-existent. This Week

A reading from the Gospel of John
A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” (For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.) The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”
Ref lection
A Samaritan woman arrives, burdened not only by her heavy water jar but also by life Jews and Samaritans did not mix, and a man would not normally speak publicly to an unrelated woman. Yet Jesus begins a gentle conversation with her.
What is striking is how Jesus sees her. He knows her story. He knows the mistakes she has made. He knows the pain she carries. But he does not judge her or push her away.
Jesus offers her “living water” a new beginning, a love that restores dignity. In meeting Jesus, the woman discovers her true worth. She leaves her jar behind the symbol of her old life and runs to share the Good News with others. The one who once hid from people becomes a witness to them.
Prayer
Loving God, You met the Samaritan woman at the well and offered her living water the water of new life, hope, and forgiveness. Help us to recognise the places in our lives where we need Your healing. Give us the courage to be honest with You and with ourselves Fill our hearts with Your living water, so that we may bring Your love to others. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. In the Name of the Father
