Reception through to Year 3 delivered a wonderfully touching Father’s Day Assembly on Thursday Year 3 confidently shared some excellent dad jokes, and the singing was, once again, phenomenal. I could tell that some audience members were tempted to join in with the air guitar action so thank you for showing such admirable restraint!
Today has been another busy day, with trips heading out to Arundel Castle and Hampton Court Palace I look forward to hearing more about them from the children in due course.

Lower Prep Drama Workshop Years 1 and 2 Visit to West Wittering Beach
The children in Years 1 and 2 thoroughly enjoyed their summer trip to West Wittering Beach. The lifeguards delivered an engaging talk on how to stay safe on the beach and in the sea.
The children then took part in a range of fun activities, including a treasure hunt in the sand dunes and group games with Ms. Calpin, before having the opportunity to play, dig, and build sandcastles on the beach.
All the children had a wonderful time, created lasting memories, and developed their teambuilding skills.

To mark the launch of the World Cup in style, our caterers truly outdid themselves, serving up a spectacular spread on Thursday that was nothing short of a feast fit for champions Featuring a vibrant selection of cuisines from across the globe, the menu celebrated the diversity of the tournament itself. From the first bite to the last, it captured the spirit and excitement of the beautiful game, delighting everyone and setting the perfect tone for the celebrations ahead.

This week in RE, Reception learnt about Paul and how he travelled far and wide, writing letters to share the message of Jesus with others As a class, we then created our own maps, thinking about the places we would like to visit to tell people about Jesus. RLP spent a long time drawing, showing great focus and care in their work. I was so proud of their effort and creativity!

Lower Prep Drama Workshop Year 3 Viking Day
The clash of swords and axes on circular shields heralded the arrival of a fearsome horde of Vikings at Cranmore on Tuesday
Dressed in their Viking finery, Year 3 pupils handled authentic Viking artefacts and weapons, and also learnt how the Viking language has influenced English. They discovered how far the Vikings travelled and heard about some of the dangers of sailing long distances in Viking longships.
They then pitted their wits against their fellow Vikings in a traditional Viking board game
The children learnt a battle drill, forming an impenetrable shield wall, and performed an impressive battle charge. Spine-chilling battle cries could be heard as far away as the Henderson Fields.
The day culminated in a very competitive spear-wrestling match, followed by an interactive retelling of the Ragnarok saga
The Year 3 Vikings left Cranmore a little weary after the day’s exertions, but with wonderful memories of a fantastic day immersed in Viking traditions.

On Saturday 6th June, eight swimmers from Cranmore competed in the IAPS National Finals at the London Aquatic Centre This was an amazing achievement, as they qualified among the top 20 independent schools in the country from over 140 schools
The relay events were first The U12s competed in both the medley and freestyle relays, beating their qualifying times by over five seconds and achieving personal bests in both events Some incredibly well-timed takeovers, along with strong individual performances, contributed to this success
The U11 team competed in the freestyle relay All relay events were heat-declared on the day, and our U11 team swam in Heat 1 They delivered an exceptional race, smashing their qualifying time by seven seconds and winning their heat in a sub-minute time an incredible achievement for this age group This placed pressure on the following heat, and having given everything in the pool, the boys finished 4th overall, just 0.24 seconds away from a medal position An outstanding performance on the day

We also had three swimmers competing in individual events:
Toby F (U12, 50m Backstroke) beat his qualifying time and finished 17th overall.
Jack T (U12, 50m Breaststroke) finished in the top 20
Matthew B (U11, 50m Freestyle) took over two seconds off his qualifying time to secure a place in the final Competing against the fastest swimmers in his age group, he finished 10th in the country overall
Overall, it was an incredible day of performances from all swimmers. Well done to all the swimmers this was an amazing experience at such an iconic venue and a prestigious event We are incredibly proud of all their achievements

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh ”
Reflection
Jesus says, “I am the bread of life… whoever eats this bread will live forever ”
These words can seem difficult, but Jesus is clear: he is not offering just a symbol he is giving himself fully
Christ gives Himself fully to us; let us also give ourselves to Him.
Let us pray
Lord Jesus, Bread of Life,
You come to us in the Eucharist not as a symbol, but as a living gift of your very self. When we hunger, feed us When we are weak, strengthen us When we feel lost, remain with us.
