Children across the Trust took part in workshops with members of the London Community Gospel Choir and then joined them in the evening for an amazing performance. Year 2 also enjoyed their time with our flute teacher, Mrs Stockdale, and had the opportunity to try playing the flute themselves.
Our week began with a celebration of European Day of Languages, and I know that our Head of MFL, Mr Jones, was very impressed with Prep's attempt to say ‘hello’ in ten different languages. Never ones to miss an opportunity to entertain the children, the members of our catering team also got in on the action, serving a mouthwatering selection of European-themed lunch options. Our Librarian, Mrs Watkinson, is already busy planning poet, author and illustrator visits for the school, and it was wonderful to celebrate the children's reading achievements over the summer by presenting certificates to those who completed the Prep Summer Reading Challenge. Sports fixtures are coming thick and fast with Cranmore teams participating in events for skiing, swimming, football, and biathlons in the calendar for the near future. Congratulations must go to our Under 11 team on winning the Regional IAPS Plate. Good luck to all those involved with matches tomorrow! Mr Heaver
Cranmore Live Seventy children from Cranmore, St Teresa's, Manor House and Halstead St Andrew's attended a fun, gospel music workshop, led by four members of the fabulous London Community Gospel Choir (LCGC). The pupils worked on several pieces and then performed them alongside the gospel choir at the start of the Cranmore Live concert. Once finished, the pupils and audience of around 200 people enjoyed the incredible vocals of LCGC. To say that there was plenty of audience participation during this concert would be an understatement, as the audience moved and clapped along to the ever-socatchy gospel melodies. There was a real buzz in the room and it was so wonderful to see so many smiles on faces. It was a truly inspirational night of high-quality live music. Mr Harris, Director of Music
Year 3 Trip to Go Ape at Alice Holt This week, 3MP went on a trip to Go Ape at Alice Holt Forest. All of the boys thoroughly enjoyed the experience and successfully completed both the easier and more challenging courses. It was wonderful to see how they supported one another on the more difficult crossings, continually encouraging those around them. The staff at Go Ape commented on how impressed they were by the boys' manners and behaviour throughout the session. I am thrilled with the way they represented Cranmore, demonstrating determination, courage and teamwork at every stage of the adventure. Mr Peach

Year 2 enjoyed a visit from Cranmore’s flute teacher, Mrs Stockdale. The children learned about the different sounds the flute can produce and even had the oppor tunity to tr y playing it themselves! Library News Congratulations to all the pupils who successfully completed this year’s Summer Reading Challenge and received their cer tificates in assembly on Friday. It was wonderful to celebrate the achievements of so many enthusiastic readers, par ticularly given the vital role that regular reading plays in academic success. We are incredibly proud of their commitment and perseverance, and we hope they continue to enjoy discovering new books throughout the year. Mrs Watkinson
Pupils enjoyed taking par t in a variety of ac tivities in celebration of European Day of Languages at break times in the Librar y this week. They played games, completed puzzle sheets, went on a scavenger hunt and perused a variety of books in European languages.
European Day of Languages Themed Lunch
On Thursday, the whole school enjoyed a culinar y journey across Europe, sampling a delicious array of dishes from a variety of countries. From traditional Spanish paella to freshly made Dutch waffles, there was something to delight ever y palate. It was wonderful to see the excitement and enjoyment on our pupils’ faces as they explored new flavours and celebrated the rich diversity of European cuisine.
Year 1 News This week in Computing, Year 1 created their own treasure maps. They enjoyed using the mouse to select different tools and learned how to click and drag to create a variety of effects. We were so impressed with their creativity and the fantastic maps they produced! Mrs Prothero
Sports News It has been a busy week of spor t at Cranmore. Last Friday, it was wonderful to see our U8 footballers play their first matches of the term, and all of Year 3 are back in ac tion against Surbiton Prep today. On Saturday, we hosted successful U8 and U10 football festivals for local prep schools, with both Cranmore teams performing admirably. The U9s played their first fixture on Monday, followed by the U11s on Tuesday and the U10s on Thursday. Congratulations to our U11A team, who won the Regional IAPS Plate, and to our Prep skiers, who helped three teams qualify for the National Finals in Norwich. In PE, Years 4 to 6 have moved on to evasion and invasion games, with pupils thoroughly enjoying alternative ac tivities such as Capture the Flag and handball. Mr Hodgson, Director of Sport

Message from the Chaplain
A Reading from the Gospel of Matthew "The kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard. He agreed to pay them a day's wage and sent them to work. Later in the day, he hired more workers, and even at the eleventh hour he found others and sent them too." In this parable, Jesus challenges our human tendency to compare ourselves with others and gives us an insight into the generous nature of God. The Kingdom of God seems so very different from our earthly values and systems. It is founded on God's boundless generosity and mercy. Let us seek to see more fully the beauty of God. This Gospel also speaks powerfully to Catholic Social Teaching, particularly the principle of human dignity. Every worker is valued equally, regardless of when they arrived. Each person has inherent worth because they are made in the image and likeness of God.
Prayer Loving Father, You call each of us into Your vineyard and invite us to share in Your work of building Your Kingdom. As You have given generously to us, help us to give generously to others. Amen. Love is to love without measure. St Augustine of Hippo

Cranmore Sports Club Would you like to keep fit, use the Cranmore sports facilities and have an enjoyable evening? The Sports Club meets in the Sports Hall on Friday evenings during term time from 7 to 9.15pm for squash, badminton and pickleball.
Cramore parents, members of staff, local players and their friends are all welcome. We are a friendly club of mixed standard. Fees are currently only £100 per annum or £5 per night. We are actively seeking new members, especially for squash, so do come along one evening or contact our membership secretary: cranmore.racquets@outlook.com
