Alton, Illinois’ own Katelyn Carpunky, 18, caught the attention of well-known cosmetics brands and influential high-profile makeup artists when she took to Instagram to blog and post videos demonstrating her makeup artistry and application techniques via Glam by Katelyn (@ glambykk). Carpunky became, in short order, an “influencer” in her own right.

Last November, the beauty blogger took her talent to a brick-and-mortar entity, Macy’s at St. Clair Square in Fairview Heights, Illinois, to do makeup for a new Juicy Couture Makeup line launch. Her grandmother, Lynn Evans, of Wood River, Illinois, works for L’Oreal Fragrances and mentioned that her granddaughter was a notable makeup artist. Carpunky got the one-day gig. Katelyn’s own influences are David Bowie, Boy George, Freddie Mercury and anything ’80s or ’90s.

“She was born in the wrong era,” her parents, Chris and Carrie Carpunky, said.

Renee Cosmetics contacted Glam by Katelyn in its first year, becoming the first of many such companies asking Katelyn to promote its products.

“But as I started gaining followers, brands started noticing, contacting me and they’d post me to different public relations lists.”

Since then, not only did that company mail its merchandise to Carpunky, but tons of different established and up-and-coming brands gifted products to Carpunky, hoping she would demonstrate and give them a shout out via Glam by Katelyn. Currently, Carpunky regularly works with approximately 20 brands.

Carpunky’s favorites are Violet Voss, Jeffree Star and Anastasia Beverly Hills. The selftaught artist loves experimenting and creating various styles of looks.

“Editorial is my favorite. That’s why I started looking up Boy George and David Bowie,” she said. “I’ve always wanted to do bridal.”

She even has a couple brand collaborations under her belt. Glam by Katelyn worked with Storm Cosmetics, available through Etsy. com, creating a glitter eyeshadow named “Crazy Train,” after Ozzy, and an application cosmetic of both red and blue lightning boltshaped glitter named “Ziggy.” Sure, it’s an homage to Bowie, but mainly to her late pet rabbit named Ziggy Stardust, after Bowie’s glam alter ego.

Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider liked and retweeted a Glam by Katelyn post. Boy George has liked and retweeted multiple Glam by Katelyn tweets.

Glam by Katelyn’s initial inspiration came from a blogger Carpunky used to regularly follow before she began blogging herself.

“I watched a girl who had cancer and saw all the response and attention she was getting,” recalled Carpunky, who was born with spina bifida, not surprisingly drawn to others with perceived physical limitations.

Yet, ambition is second nature to Carpunky, who’s a competitive tennis player. She competed in her second consecutive U.S. Open USTA Wheelchair Championships two years ago, placing in doubles. She has aspirations to compete in at least one Paralympics games before hanging up her tennis hat.

“You have to be in the top eleven female players,” noted Carpunky, who credits herself with a strong forehand, though her mom said her backhand is stronger.

But, for the immediate future, Carpunky’s plans include launching a YouTube channel this year; in the long term, she plans to create her own cosmetics empire.

Diverse movie viewing in light of ‘Oscar Quest 2018’

‘Free Solo,’ ‘At Eternity’s Gate’ are among them

Recently, I caught the only showing of “At Eternity’s Gate” at St. Louis’ Tivoli Theatre, a favorite venue, located in the city’s Delmar Loop historic district.

“At Eternity’s Gate” is an intimate examination of Vincent van Gogh (Willem Dafoe) during the latter half of his life while living in Arles, France, grappling with his obsession with painting naturescapes and conversing with best pal and fellow artist Paul Gauguin (Oscar Isaac).

Aside from Dafoe’s tremendous visage, as van Gogh, and the film’s peculiar, inventive lighting concepts, which are really quite stunning, the movie was a snore. There are long periods of silence, followed by voiceover against a black screen. It was too dull.

As for another indie film I caught recently, dull is absolutely not the right word. “Free Solo” first arrived on screens way back in September, but just expanded to capture the IMAX footprint. The documentary’s codirectors/producers Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, in June 2017, followed rock climber Alex Honnold as he worked to become the first person to “free solo” (climbing alone and without any safety gear, includ-

Izzy Young, who organized Dylan’s first big concert, dies

By David Keyton Associated Press STOCKHOLM — Izzy Young, a businessman, political activist and founding patron of the Greenwich Village folk music scene who organized Bob Dylan’s first major New York concert and devoted decades to supporting other musicians, has died at age 90.

Young’s daughter, Philomene Grandin, said Wednesday that her father died of natural causes late Monday at his home in Stockholm. Before he moved to Sweden in 1973 and went into business there, Young ran a folk music shop in New York that nurtured a generation of artists.

Starting in the 1950s, Greenwich Village was the center of a folk music revival that helped launch the careers of Dylan, Joni Mitchell and many others. Young, as much as anyone, made the revival possible. In 1957, he opened the Folklore Center, remembered by

Dylan as an “ancient chapel, like a shoebox sized institute,” a vital stopping point where fans and folk performers would stop by for everything from old sheet music to obscure music books.

In 1960, Young had another inspiration — to expand folk music beyond coffee houses and bring it to a restaurant, an Italian place called Gerde’s. When Dylan moved from Minnesota to New York in the winter of 1961, Gerde’s was an early stop. He played his first professional gig there, in April. A Dylan performance at Gerde’s in September of that year was attended by The New York Times’ Robert Shelton, whose review established Dylan as a rising star and brought him his first record deal.

In November 1961, Young organized Dylan’s first major show outside of Greenwich Village, at Carnegie Chapter Hall, a small auditorium connected to Carnegie Hall.

drive is admirable, but the movie goes a long way toward explaining how his obsessive climbing really affects his relationship with girlfriend Sanni McCandless.

McCandless treats Honnold in a way that I can only tell you is an advertisement against marriage for any unattached viewer. Still, the

last 20 minutes of this movie are breathtakingly exciting. I totally dug it.

Also, in my latest movie-watching adventures, I used vimeo.com to find the Oscarnominated short film “A Night at The Garden” — we are in the middle of “Oscar Quest 2018,” after all. The short was free and easy to view, but a complete mystery to me. The seven-minute footage is about an American Nazi rally of 20,000 supporters in 1939 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. There was only one title card at the end — I’ve seen more thorough coverage of any number of subjects on the local news.

Finally, since my last column, I caught up to “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” playing at St. Charles, Missouri’s St. Andrews Cinema, a long-running, locally owned movie theater that shows second-run films at a bargain price. The venue remains, as best I can tell, the last remaining true “dollar show” in our region. I had an experience that one should assume they’d have when the fee to enter is $1, but I oughtn’t be snooty about it.

St. Andrews’ nachos were quite good and a Ms. Pac-Man arcade game was in its tiny lobby. I’ve been through (much) worse.

“At Eternity’s Gate” runs 111 minutes and is rated PG-13 for some thematic content. I give this film one star out of four.

“Free Solo” runs 100 minutes and is rated PG-13 for brief strong language. I give this film three stars out of four.

The son of Jewish Polish immigrants, Young was born on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. After attending Brooklyn College, he worked for a few years at his father’s bakery before deciding to go into business for himself. Grandin said her father dedicated over 60 years to promoting folk music.

“He had opened his heart to so many people, so many poets who came to his shop,” Grandin told The Associated Press.

But John, 53, knew Amy’s family since a few years out of high school and is a great

admirer of her dad, the late Eddie Sholar Sr. “John was a ‘Bon Air’ guy (as in Fast Eddie’s Bon Air),” Amy said.

“He came to work for my dad shortly after his own father passed away. He adored my dad.”

Amy, then about 15 years old and John was 21, worked the lottery machine at the historic and famous Alton drinking establishment that was founded in 1921.

“I had an enormous crush on him,” she recalled. “And truth be told, he liked me. But,

because of the age difference and his respect for my dad, we could never date. I was madly in love.”

The love went unrequited. Over time, Amy met, married and had two children — not with John, because he moved to Florida. They lost touch.

“His life took some twists, too, good and bad!,” Amy noted. “John is a ‘free spirit,’ complete opposite of me.”

Fast forward to 2003 (but not all the way to 2019 yet).

“I was divorced and in church with my kids and, who do I see after almost 10 years, but John Schleeper,” Amy said.

He was visiting his mother, who Amy still didn’t meet.

The attraction to her old co-worker remained and she thought that the meeting would rekindle things.

But again, geography derailed their destiny. John had just moved to Kansas, ostensibly

Be a queen, wear your crown: Conference promotes women’s faith in God, self

ALTON — A special treat for women is happening during this month of Valentine’s Day. A Journey To Discovery, an online women’s ministry and nonprofit, faith-based organization, presents The Daughters Of The King/ The Crown Still Fits conference from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Alton Knights of Columbus Hall/Spaulding Club, 405 E. Fourth St., in Alton, Illinois. A teen session will occur from 12 to 4 p.m. The conference is open to the public and free to attend. Organizers are asking for conference donations, from which a portion of the proceeds will go to the Boys & Girls Club of Alton.

The Daughters Of The King/The Crown Still Fits conference goal is to allow the love of God to shine through and change lives daily, said A Journey To Discovery’s Marlana Foster Clemons, 34, who founded the group and leads the A Journey To Discovery ministry through its Facebook page of the same name. Clemons posts inspirational messages and videos on the page at https://www.facebook.com/womenofpowerdaughtersoftheking/ which also can be found with the url.

A Journey To Discovery is open to any woman of God, to share experiences of love, faith, support and overcoming, which is what led Clemons to form the ministry in September 2017.

“The ministry came about because I actually used to run my dad’s bar and life started changing for me, bringing me down a bit, and I knew that being in the bar wasn’t for me,” Clemons recalled. “God was speaking to me and saying that was not what He wanted me to do.”

Then three years ago this month, Clemons became seriously ill, hospitalized with a double kidney infection, which almost caused her kidneys to fail and require dialysis.

“I was very sick, but I’ve always been very spiritual, even in the midst of being in the bar a lot, never resting, constantly busy,” she said.

“I ended up sick because God wanted me to sit down. He was like, ‘Some of this stuff has to go.’ In the hospital, I awoke and God started talking to me, telling me this was the time to get my ministry off the ground.”

Now, A Journey To Discovery’s organizing members — Clemons, Candice Foster, Victoria Foster, Ruby Foster and Clemons’ sister-in-law Florita Foster — are holding the ministry’s first conference, The Daughters Of The King/The Crown Still Fits, inspired by the Foster family matriarch, the late Viola Foster, who passed away Oct. 4, 2018.

“Part of my vision and our purpose to do the conference is because of the love women feel they miss, particularly at this time of year around Valentine’s Day,” said Clemons, who is a full-time mom and works from her Alton home for It Works Global networking. “Also, as a kid, I always thought I’d have a ministry, I’d empower women, and I always prayed and wanted to be like my mother, who was so close with God. She’s the reason for all of

that her mother would soon physically be gone. Clemons found out that her crown still fit.

“He basically said He was going to take care of me,” she said. “After my mom passed, a few weeks later, He woke me from sleep and said, ‘It’s time.’

Around the same time, my niece, my soul sister, Candice, ended up needing a place to stay and came to live with me. I told her about wanting to have a women’s conference and she said, ‘Let’s do it!’”

The pair contacted Clemons’ oldest brother and Arizona pastor, James Foster, for guidance.

“He said, ‘I want you to lose the fear,’” recalled Clemons about their conversations.

“That was my ‘go.’ The conference just took off. We found the building that holds 275 people and we decided to do a teen event, too.”

by surprise. In fact, it took me several days before I sent a friend request — we ‘friended’ each other.”

A short “Hello” message turned, in a matter of a few short weeks, into a gazillion text messages and lots of phone calls.

And, well, John is not in Kansas anymore.

“I eventually went to visit him and he put his house on the market, left his job and followed me back here,” Amy revealed.

The saying goes that the third time is the charm, a proverb that proved true for the Schleepers.

“For his birthday I bought him tickets to see the Raiders — he’s a huge fan,” Amy gushed. “When I gave him the gift, he asked me to marry him — after about a month of reconnecting and 32 years of bad timing — so, I said, ‘Yes!’ “Now, everyone thinks we were crazy, but both of us will tell you that this is completely natural for us. It took us a very long time — and we feel like it took a very long time — but both of us are very happy and it was worth the wait.”

The couple ended their lifelong off-again, off-again romance on Dec. 6, 2018, making it officially on-forever, when they married, surrounded by close friends — and Amy’s family — in the couple’s Alton home. And, they just returned to that home, from Florida, where, yes, Amy finally met John’s family.

Love stories Sharon and Dennis O’Neal, of Godfrey, Illinois, met on a blind date, got engaged three months later and married nine months after that.

Whew, talk about a whirlwind romance! The world-travelers really haven’t slowed down since then, either.

Katie Sabolo met her husband, Brandon Sabolo, last year during a crucial time — when her dad was in the hospital for chest pains on Feb. 19. “One of the nurses taking care of him was this really cute guy and I felt right away like we had chemistry,” Katie recalled.

They talked a bit but she only got his first name. Like any modern woman, she scoured Facebook the next day, knowing he graduated from the school where she teaches because he told her at the hospital. Couldn’t find him! Plan B, she took a thank-you snack basket to the hospital. Never heard from him!

But, he finally messaged Katie three months later and they went on a proper date to a St. Louis Cardinals game.

“I knew he was the right person for me and my son,” Katie said. They married in an intimate setting this past Jan. 2 with an elopement package at the Beall Mansion Bed & Breakfast, in Alton, Illinois. It was just the two of them and Katie’s 6-year-old son, Josh. “Everything was so perfect. It was so romantic, so memorable, and the perfect start to the rest of our lives together. Life is good!” Katie said.

Christy Schaper met her man, Tyler Schaper, on their first day of training at Edward Jones St. Louis, even though neither one was supposed to start on that day. Some things are just meant to be! “I smiled at him and later he said he wondered what it would be like to be married to me. And 18 years later, I love him more than ever,” Christy said.

When Mike Bennett’s eyes met Tina’s, and she smiled, Mike said to himself, “I’m going to marry that girl!” The couple, of Alton, Illinois, met on the U. S. Marine Corps Birthday, Nov. 10,

Thomas Harris met his sweetheart, Judy Jones, both of Alton, Illinois, 10 years ago this month, at Chez Marilyn, in Downtown Alton. “I’m so thankful for Judy’s love and companionship,” Tom said.

Toni Bechtol, a former Telegraph intern, and Lucas Bechtol, both now of Bryan, Ohio, met in 2012, while working at the same newspaper. “It was the first job out of college for both of us,” Toni recalled.

They got married at a county courthouse during a snowstorm in March 2014 and have been happily married ever since.

Fun fact: Whenever one of the mutual Star Wars lovers says, “I love you,” the other one says, “I know.”

Both Emily and Joe Hollinger, of Godfrey, Illinois, worked for Delta Airlines when they first met — Emily as a flight attendant; Joe in operations. Emily took the liquor money from a flight to Joe’s department just so she could meet him. “He was so cute! He asked me out!,” she said. Their first date was April Fool’s Day and he asked Emily to marry him over the telephone. “He was afraid I’d say, ‘No!’” Emily recalled. That was the same day Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, July 20, 1969. Talk about taking a giant step! The Hollingers just celebrated 49 years on Jan. 11.

Greg Emmenegger, of St. Louis, met his now fiancée, Heather Heidelbaugh, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, briefly in college. They reconnected 35 years later through social media and now are engaged to be married!

Justin and Patricia Hayton met one night when Justin was preaching at Patricia’s church. “I just so happened to come to Sunday night service, which I never did,” she recalled. “As soon as I walked in and laid eyes on him for the first time in my life, although I didn’t know it, my ‘extra’ mama said she saw my eyes light up,” Patricia recalled.

Three weeks later, the couple had their first date and five weeks after that, they got married. Happily ever after and going on seven years this year, Patricia told her friends she knew she was going to marry him before the couple ever had a conversation. “They thought I was crazy; I knew it was God!,” Patricia said.

Karen Roberts, of Johnson City, Illinois, met her husband, Kevin Roberts, after an argument with her sister in 2001. With $4 in her pocket she went to have a beer and cool off. During karaoke, she moved closer to the speakers to hear the song she requested, “Time Marches On,” and then met her future husband. On Feb. 7, 2002, Kevin asked Karen to marry him. 'This Is Us' star Milo Ventimiglia honored Associated Press

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — "This Is Us" actor Milo Ventimiglia was honored Friday as Man of the Year by Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Theatricals at Farkas Hall in Cambridge.

The Emmy-nominated actor received the award after a roast from Elizabeth Mann and Mariana Sanchez Medina of the Hasty Pudding Theatrics, who poked fun at some of his B-list acting roles and his status as a sex symbol.

"Milo was named the world's sexiest vegetarian alive by PETA, even though everyone sees you as a piece of meat," the two Harvard undergrads quipped.

Before being able to hold the pudding pot, Ventimiglia had to endure a little extra embarrassment: the Pudding had Ventimiglia sing Fergie smash "Big Girls Don't Cry," (Ventimiglia starred in the music video) and gave a lap dance to one of its members.

Ventimiglia took the teasing in good fun, emphasizing how proud he was to receive the title.

"My mom, who declined being my date two years in a row for the Emmys, made sure to be here tonight," he told the crowd.

After the roast, the Hasty Pudding had the opening night for "France France

Revolution," the troupe's first production to feature women in the cast. Medina and Mann produced the play.

Ventimiglia said he was honored.

"To know that the Hasty Pudding is now including women on stage is absolutely the right thing to do," he said. "The heart of the artist isn't only in one type of person or one way of being. It's really in all of us."

America's oldest theatrical organization says Ventimiglia was selected because he has made "significant impressions on television and film." He stars as the patriarch Jack Pearson in family drama "This is Us" and has had leading roles in "Gilmour Girls" and "Heroes."

Ventimiglia said he understands why "This is Us" resonates with many Americans, even in a particularly charged political climate.

"I think people want to feel good even in pain and sadness," Ventimiglia said. "It's a gratifying thing when I as an artist know that the work that I'm a part of is creating positivity."

Hasty Pudding has honored a Man of the Year since 1967, and previous winners include Clint Eastwood, Tom Hanks and Christopher Walken. Paul Rudd was honored last year.

Bryce Dallas Howard was named Hasty Pudding's Woman of the Year.

Keith Urban to play at NHL Stadium Series outdoor game

By Stephen Whyno Associated Press The NHL took the Stanley Cup to Keith Urban’s studio last year, and now the country music star will be taking his talents outside to play a league event.

Urban will perform during the first intermission of the Stadium Series outdoor game in Philadelphia between the Penguins and Flyers on Feb. 23, the NHL announced Wednesday, making him the latest high-profile music act to play a league event following Weezer at the Winter Classic and Bebe Rexha at All-Star Weekend.

“We’re thrilled that these artists are now considering our events to be of the highest level and incredible exposure for them,” NHL chief content officer Steve Mayer said. “For us as the NHL, we’re just looking for the biggest artists we can find, and we think that Keith Urban transcends all of that.”

Urban has no connection to the Flyers or Penguins, but he and wife Nicole Kidman are Nashville Predators fans, and he sang the national anthem during their 2017 playoff run. Urban and Kidman got to spend some time with the Cup in April when the NHL had it in Nashville during the playoffs, one step toward getting them more involved.

“Keith really has fallen in love with the game, fallen in love with hockey, thinks this is a really cool opportunity and wants to work with us more and more promoting the game,” Mayer said.

Years ago, the NHL was the subject of some jokes for booking Billy Idol and other artists past their prime for big events. When Mayer joined the NHL in 2015, he wanted to up the entertainment value with the artists playing for big hockey audiences.

Madonna to be honored at GLAAD Awards NEW YORK (AP) — Madonna will be honored at the 30th annual GLAAD Media Awards for a lifetime of accelerating acceptance of the LGBTQ community.

The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer advocacy group announced Tuesday it will present Madonna with its advocate for change award. The 60-year-old singer is the second person and first woman to receive the award that honors a person who, through their work, changed the game for LGBTQ people.

In a statement, GLAAD president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis says Madonna's "music and art have been life-saving outlets for LGBTQ people over the years."

So … if you are looking to impress your husband, your wife, your partner or someone who is otherwise special in your life, with something that looks fancy, but is actually very easy to make, look no further than this cheesecake.

It appears deceivingly complicated, but in fact, doesn’t even require turning on the oven. “What?,” you ask.

That’s right. This recipe that I found online around the endof-year holiday time is now doubling as my Valentine’s Day sweet for my sweetheart.

Of course, I switched the toppings up a little so that it has its own unique twist, and I even resisted the urge to put the chocolate syrup all over the top because, as you may recall, my sweetheart and I are watching our collective weight. That’s right.

Already halfway through February, and we are still hanging in there. We have our ups and downs, but we aren’t giving up.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I am by no means saying that cheesecake is a “diet” or low-fat recipe. Au contraire! You gotta make holidays a little special. So, instead of a chocolate cake or pie, I opted for cheesecake, using low-fact cream cheese and low-fat condensed milk. It has graham cracker crust instead of pastry and, with chocolate drizzled on top instead of completely covering the top, there’s a taste of chocolate flavor, but not so much that you can’t recover the next day from your “cheat” dessert.

They are so pretty, they helped make it all seem even more special. I know you might not be lucky enough to have that vintage heart pan sitting around, but this cheesecake is worth a try no matter what shape of pan you put it in. And the chocolate syrup can be used for all kinds of things. Try them out and have a happy Valentine’s Day! Crust 3 cups graham cracker crumbs 1/3 cup sugar 11 tablespoons butter, melted 1/4 teaspoon salt Place graham cracker crumbs, sugar and butter in a large bowl and use a fork to stir until mixed. Press into the bottom and up the sides of your pan (9- or 10-inch). Chill about 10 minutes before filling.

Filling 2 8-ounce blocks of low-fat cream cheese, room temperature

On the Edge of the Weekend • Thursday, February 14, 2019 • 27 1 14-ounce can low-fat, sweetened condensed milk 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 1/4 cup lemon juice Chocolate for drizzling over top Strawberries (or other desired fruit) for topping Beat cream cheese until smooth using a hand mixer. Add sweetened condensed milk, vanilla and lemon juice, and mix until smooth. Pour into prepared crust.

Chill 3 to 4 hours before serving to set.

Drizzle with chocolate sauce, and then top with strawberries or other fruit.

Chocolate Sauce This sauce is thicker than chocolate syrup, but thinner than fudge topping.

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa 2/3 cup sugar-free vanilla coffee creamer 1/2 cup honey 1/2 teaspoon vanilla Pinch of salt Combine cocoa, coffee creamer, honey and salt in a saucepan. Whisk over medium-low heat about 3 minutes, until mixture is thick and the cocoa has completely dissolved. Remove from heat; add vanilla. Pour into jar or container. Cool at room temperature, cover and store in refrigerator.

ALTON — Alton Little Theater President Kevin D. Frakes will be honored by the regional Arts For Life organization with a Lifetime Achievement Award at a ceremony where Theatre Mask Award recipients also will be recognized.

Theatre Mask Award nominees also include 27 Alton Little Theater actors, representing 21 different categories.

Arts For Life conducts an annual special event to honor the contributions of community volunteers to community theater in the St. Louis metropolitan region. This year’s Theatre Mask Awards ceremony will be an elegant brunch that takes place Saturday, April 6, at the Paul F. Detrick Building auditorium on the campus of Christian Hospital campus, 11133 Dunn Road, St. Louis.

A theatrical event in itself, musical numbers from nominated shows are performed, lifetime achievement awards to St. Louis “legends” in the arts are conferred and special achievement awards for “unique applications of theatre” are presented with narration, guest appearances and special effects. The entire event is videotaped and edited for cable television broadcast.

Frakes also was nominated in multiple categories, including of Best Direction for drama and comedy; Best Set Design for drama and comedy; and, for leading best large and small ensemble nominees for his shows “Who’s in Bed With the Butler” and “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.”

“Exit Laughing,” under the direction of Gail Drillinger, also was selected as a Best Small Ensemble nominee.

Alton Little Theater Public Relations Director Lee Cox received multiple nominations for costumes and lighting design, along with Dennis Stevenson and Alton Little Theater Technical Coordinator Brant McCance.

Brad Kincaid was nominated as Best Lead Actor in a comedy and the Alton Little Theater group was devastated to learn that Kincaid passed away just hours before the announcements were made, Cox said. A large group of fellow actors attended his funeral services on Feb. 8 and celebrated his dedication to the arts. A fellow cast member of “Who’s in Bed With the Butler,” Allison Beach (a Best Lead Actress nominee) and fellow classmate and nominee Diana Kay, for Best Lead Actress, mourned the loss of a true thespian and are looking forward to re-uniting the cast who Kincaid loved so much at the Arts For Life awards ceremony.

Alton Little Theater’s Lief Anderson, Carole Hodson, Gary Wilson and entire ensembles of three different of its productions also will celebrate Frakes’ designation and root for the “win” of their co-stars.

The ceremony is open to the public. Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased through artsforlife. org. An award ceremony will be held in June for musical categories, in which Zac Coffman, for “Camelot,” received a Best Supporting Actor nod.
