Scrum Fest 2018 Welcome Scrum Fest Participants, It must be Spring time in Victoria as it is also Scrum Fest time again. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome players, coaches, and fans from all our visiting teams. Claremont High School is proud to host one of the largest exhibition rugby tournaments in British Columbia. A special welcome to our teams that have travelled long distances from Alberta and Australia to join us in this tournament. Your extra effort in planning and making Scrum Fest an important date on your tournament calendar is greatly appreciated. Claremont has a long tradition of excellence in the sport of Rugby dating back to the school’s founding in 1962. With the leadership of long time coaches Ed Kubek and Peter Simmonds. Claremont emerged as a successful program through the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s where the Claremont Spartans regularly competed for, and won, the Howard Russell City title and Island Championships. Now, Scrum Fest provides an opportunity for teams to gather at our fields and play rugby. We look forward to the student athletes demonstrating their skills and teamwork each game, we anticipate satisfaction demonstrated by coaches when a successful plan comes together, and the respect and appreciation shown by fans.
