Panama’s English proficiency is among the weakest in Latin America. Over the past seven years, Panama has seen no significant improvement in adult English skills.

Panamanian women are slightly better at English than men.

When looking at English skills by age cohort, Panamanian adults aged 35 to 44 do far better than other cohorts, so much so that they have English skills in line with the regional average. The relative strength of these mid-career adults merits further analysis.
