Comparativelawisacommonsubject-matterofresearchandteachinginmanyuniversities aroundtheworld,andthetwenty-firstcenturyhasaptlybeentermed ‘theeraofcomparative law’.Itisthustopicaltopublishthis Handbook whichseekstopresentatrulyglobalperspective ofcomparativelawtoday.Thecontributorsaredrawnfromallpartsoftheworldtoreflect differentwaysweunderstandthe ‘law’ andhowitoperatesinpractice.Insubstance,the Handbook contains chapterscoveringabroadrangeoftopics.Theyaredividedunderthe followingheadings: ‘MethodsofComparativeLaw’ (PartI); ‘LegalFamiliesandGeographical Comparisons’ (PartII); ‘CentralThemesinComparativeLaw’ (PartIII);and ‘ComparativeLaw BeyondtheState’ (PartIV).
