At Evergreen Internal Medicine in the village of West Clay, long wait times, short doctor visits, and futile administrative hassles are a thing of the past. Dr. Nick Jenkins strives to create authentic, therapeutic doctor/patient relationships with a Direct Primary Care model. We sat down with Dr. Nick to learn more about him, his practice, and the innovative, subscription-based healthcare he offers.
A: I have been a physician for 17 years and have learned a great deal about how to care for people with many different types of illness. As a hospitalist, I provided treatment to thousands, many of them critically ill. I also served as a Core Teaching Faculty for St. Vincent Hospital for six years, teaching medical students, interns and residents. My approach to patient care has always been to try to treat a patient the way I would want to be treated. I believe that meaningful connection between a doctor and patient can have a huge impact on the patient’s outcomes and can be truly rewarding for both parties.
A: What I have found during my career is that the traditional fee-forservice model of medicine forces doctors to see an ever-increasing number of patients, faster and faster. It rewards brevity and leads to a superficial understanding of the patient’s complex needs. I opened Evergreen because I wanted to practice medicine the way it is supposed to be practiced. I opened because I truly value the relationship between a doctor and a patient.

Q: What is Direct Primary Care and how does it work?
A: Direct Primary Care (DPC), similar to concierge medicine, gives patients access to excellent, high-quality medical care for a simple, transparent, and affordable membership fee. It is more convenient and personalized than traditional fee-for-service healthcare. As a member of Evergreen Internal Medicine, you have direct access to me via text, phone, and email. There are no visit fees. Gone are the days of waiting weeks to get in to see your doctor—I routinely see patients on the same or next day for urgent issues.
Q: Why is DPC a beneficial healthcare model?
A: This is the only model of healthcare that focuses solely on the relationship between the patient and the doctor. The insurance companies and hospital administrators take a back seat to the patient and their needs. By having a smaller patient panel, DPC doctors can spend more time on each patient, meaning less time waiting around, easier appointment scheduling, and more relaxed visits. I truly get
to know each person I care for. At Evergreen Internal Medicine, you are not just a number or a medical condition, you are an individual who deserves personalized, authentic medical care.
Q: What are some ways you can better treat patients?
A: Health is a journey and not a destination, and what people desire most of all is to have a partner for this journey. As your physician, my job is part guide and part travel companion. As both a physician and a patient myself, I have seen a great deal and can help us to navigate the complexities of the modern medical system. I have helped thousands of patients on their health journey, whether through a cancer diagnosis or heart disease or in their struggle to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle. I feel privileged to be a doctor.
Evergreen Internal Medicine is located at 12851 Broad Street, Suite 100 in Carmel, Indiana. To learn more about DPC, services and pricing, visit evergreeninternalmedicine. com, call 463-220-3486 and follow @ evergreeninternalmedicine on Instagram.
When Jordan Lee envisioned opening a spa, she wanted the space to be a sanctuary, carefully considering every detail for clients to find rejuvenation and respite from everyday life. But she also sought to set it apart from standard day spas by offering results-based skincare and wellness solutions with progressive technology and medical guidance. Her enthusiasm for beauty and her knowledge of health care proved to be the perfect match for Modern Aesthetics, the purpose-driven med spa she had been dreaming of.
(promotional content)
When the doors of Modern Aesthetics opened earlier this year, Jordan Lee had already been in the healthcare industry for 20 years, owning a home healthcare business for more than half of those. But her experience dates back even further, to when she accompanied her mom (who operated the largest home health care agency in the state at the time) on visits as a young child. "I've learned from all kinds of gurus in the industry as far back as I can remember," says Jordan. She adds that through it all she has been drawn to helping people feel their best. With her career, with her friends and with her family (Jordan and her husband Jeff share seven children), she strives to help others live up to their full potential and be mentally, physically and spiritually happy.
In 2022, that devotion began tugging at Jordan, motivating her to try something new. "At first, I thought of it as a hobby," she admits, but quickly realized it was much more. Jordan has always loved beauty rituals, including hair, makeup and physical fitness. She began competing in figure competitions in 2016, which required strict workout regimens and constant analysis of her food and nutrients to be sure she was fueling her body appropriately. Her health journey also influenced the idea. After a bout with Covid-19 that led to months of continuous illness and many doctor visits, Jordan began IV ozone treatment that cleared her symptoms and helped to rebuild her systems. She also discovered peptide therapy and hormone replacement, which can make a drastic difference in the health and wellness of women as they
enter perimenopause and menopause. Her interest in these areas piqued her passion—not only for her health but for others as well. All of this, coupled with her entrepreneurial spirit, and Modern Aesthetics was born.
Medical aesthetics is one of the fastestgrowing industries in the nation, and it is being led by dynamic, ambitious women every step of the way. Strong, passionate women like Jordan Lee are reshaping the landscape. As this field continues to flourish, Modern Aesthetics stands at the forefront, captivating discerning clients who crave a deeper connection to their health and beauty journey. Here, a holistic approach is offered, combining state-of-the-art equipment with the latest techniques, integrative medical insights and a nurturing environment. In addition to aesthetics, multiple other treatments are available for improving health and wellness and giving a boost of confidence and self-esteem, says Jordan, noting the IV Ozone and various IV therapies. A favorite is the natural beauty drip, which includes B Group Vitamins to balance the skin tone and Glutathione to reduce wrinkles and increase glow.
SkinPen microneedling, Skinwave hydrofacial, and Quanta Skin Apps are popular treatments at Modern Aesthetics, harnessing the latest technological advancements to deliver exceptional results. Francesca Davis, lead licensed medical esthetician, who is trained in laser treatments and is a 30-year industry veteran, loves having such a stellar array of technology to choose from. "It speaks
What sets Modern Aesthetics apart is its carefully curated team of experts, each bringing their unique skills and knowledge. The team includes the meticulous eye of Inna Aroutiounova, MD; the skillful touch of Francesca Davis, lead licensed esthetician; the artistry of Olga Vorobiova, master injector; and the client concierge services of Kristie Faicco. Under the guidance of Jordan Lee, owner and visionary, the team seamlessly collaborates to craft a personalized beauty journey for every client.
to the value of what we can offer," she says. "We can do all kinds of treatments to treat a wide variety of skin concerns."
Modern Aesthetics' approach extends beyond surface-level modalities with individualized treatment plans that consider each client's entire health and makeup. "I do believe that beauty cannot be fixed only from the outside," explains Dr. Inna Aroutiounova. "You first must start from the inside…taking care of yourselves and regenerative properties." By blending integrative medicine, including IV ozone, IV therapy, peptide therapy and more, clients are enabled to unlock the full potential of their natural beauty.
Olga Vorobiova, master injector and dermatologist from Ukraine, rounds out the care team. And Kristie Faicco coordinates client experiences as client concierge.
Together, these professionals can enhance and contour the face and body with neurotoxin and HA fillers, Sculptra, threads, bio-stimulants and platelet-rich plasma. The team has years and years of experience and works one-on-one with each client toward their desired look, from plumping and reshaping lips and enhancing cheek bones, to smoothing the under eye or obtaining a nonsurgical lift of the face, neck and much more. “We are constantly working with suppliers to bring in the best products and techniques for our clients,” says
Jordan, highlighting the premier injectables and fillers they utilize, including ALLERGAN, Revannesse, Evolus and Merz.
"It's not just a business," says Jordan's husband Jeff Lee, who serves as the company's CFO. "Jordan's goal is that people will leave here having been encouraged—physically, emotionally and spiritually... that they will be blessed and they will be changed in a positive way. It really is a mission for her."
The Lees have created a haven where clients can experience the perfect blend of innovation, expertise and heartfelt care. But their commitment to the well-being and satisfaction of their community extends beyond the walls of Modern Aesthetics. The Zionsville residents are thrilled to contribute to the vibrant business landscape here and grateful for the opportunity to serve, nurture and make life a little bit more beautiful, inside and out.
Look and feel your best at Modern Aesthetics, located at 625 S. Main Street, Suite 200 in Zionsville, Indiana, open weekdays from 9am5pm, and by appointment from 5-7 pm weekdays and Saturday 9am2pm. To find out more about their membership program or to schedule a complimentary consultation, visit modernaesthetics.biz and follow @ modernaestheticszionsville for events, specials and more information.
