ver the past 40 plus years since Liposuction was first introduced for the removal of unwanted localized areas of fat, the techniques and technology have evolved. Cosmetic surgery is forever changing. High definition body sculpting is now available because of recent new technology. With the advent of newer Pulsatile ultrasonic assisted (VASER) and power assisted liposuction in combination with Renuvion/J-Plasma the cosmetic surgeon can truly sculpture the human body.

The surgeon must attempt to achieve the components of the attractive human form. These include symmetry, proportions, curves and certain body ratios. r. Hamed Nouri could be proclaimed as the “King of Calories.” Well, ok, maybe not himself personally. However, the moniker is aptly named for the business, KingCal Kitchen, he helped create alongside his brother, Sam Nouri. KingCal Kitchen, located in Carmel, is one of Central Indiana’s only meal prep solutions for those looking for fresh, never frozen, simple, quick and nutritious meals for their busy and productive lives. According to Hamed, the name is more than appropriate for it represents what they’re all about: meals and caloric intake. The meals focus on the full spectrum of calorie needs known as macronutrients, or “macros” for short. These nutrients are proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. Founded only four years ago, KingCal started as a small venture inside the juice bar area of the LA Fitness in Westfield. This past year Hamed and Sam opened up a bigger location in Carmel. The move was to get beyond the normal gym members they attracted and to expand their foot traffic into a major location. “We’re the first portion-controlled meal company in the area,” Hamed says.

Hamed and Sam, both natives of Iran, bring distinct backgrounds and skillsets to their new enterprise. A trained pharmacist, Hamed is an avid bodybuilder with more than two decades in the gym and is the CEO of KingCal Kitchen. Sam, a mechanical engineer, serves as president of the business. It was both brothers who actually came up with the concept for their business. While Hamed practiced the art and science of bodybuilding for many years, it wasn’t until 2013 he entered into an actual competition. It was back in 2015 when the Nouri brothers decided to establish a meal prep company as soon as they got back home from one of Hamed’s bodybuilding competitions. To assist in his preparation, he became more disciplined with his nutrition habits. As part of this regimen he would spend a whole day prepping meals for an entire week. This would include shopping, cooking, portioning, weighing/packing meals and washing the dishes.

“Two years of prepping for myself, at the end of the day, I’m very tired,” Hamed says. By 2015, a weary Hamed had enough of this taxing regimen. He approached Sam about his business idea and after doing some research finding no other company had a similar concept, they moved forward. Six months later, they had their first product of chicken, broccoli and potatoes. Fast forward to today, KingCal Kitchen now provides more than 32 meals of seafood, poultry, beef, vegetables and more. “When we opened, it was just about serving the bodybuilding community,” Hamed says. “Now our typical clientele are students, single people, stay at home moms or dads, business owners or anyone who is looking to just change their lifestyle and eat healthier.” Today, the business is a family affair. Mom, Noshin, and dad, Hossein, help out in the business. Since Noshin is famous in the family with her cooking skills, she has a large role in selecting the recipes

and overseeing the cooking in the kitchen. Hossein manages the business and is an advisor to the Nouri brothers. “Mom is a cooking magician,” Sam says. “Without mom and dad we couldn’t do it.” Hamed’s favorite meals are the beef and lamb kabobs and saffron chicken. “It takes me back to my childhood because of the taste. It’s as tasty as a Persian meal,” he says. As for Sam’s choice, he prefers both the steak with brown rice and mushroom, and the salmon with couscous. Having lived in Iran for their childhood, Hamed and Sam have brought their native culture with them to Indiana. They learned early on the importance of hard work, working in business, and interacting with different cultures. “Iranians are very interactive,” Hamed says. “I make friends easy and I learned how to socialize

The way Sam sees it, it’s the expense of eating out. In addition to offering meal preparation, KingCal Kitchen also offers customers customized diet plans including weight management, assessments and diet goals. Whether it’s to lose, maintain, or gain weight there is a plan for you. “It’s my goal to help customers not only with time management but with establishing healthy, simple eating habits,” Hamed says. While not a dietitian, his doctorate in pharmacy along with training in nutrition, anatomy, chemistry, in addition to 22 years of personal bodybuilding experience, gives him enough credibility and knowledge to be able to successfully help his customers, Hamed says. His experience also includes active service as a state judge and show promoter for NPC, “National Physique Committee.” KingCal Kitchen has officially catered such organizations as the Indy Eleven soccer team, Carmel Swim Club, Blue Horseshoe, NPC Bodybuilding shows and Merrill Lynch among others. The business is a member of the Indiana Grown, a statewide branding initiative of the Indiana State Department of Agriculture. This initiative aims to not only form a clearer designation of which products truly come from Indiana, but also helps Hoosiers easily identify and

Like all car buyers of today, if you’re going to own one of these distinct, high-end vehicles, you want to feel not only fashionable on and off the road, but also safe with family and friends, all while trying to impress them in the new ride. The starting price is about $232,000, with additional fees for personalization. The Urus has mixed Italian sports car heritage with elegance, remaining true to all Lamborghini vehicles by incorporating the brand’s signature “Y” silhouette from the front to the rear. While sleek in design with a coupe-like feel, notes of power and strength exude from the low-sitting SUV.
