It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the first South Dakota Simmental Source Sale hosted by the South Dakota Simmental Association. The facility at Sioux Falls is exceptional and we hope that you will join us on Saturday, December 10th for a great set of Simmental genetics. Throughout the year we have the opportunity to work with some of the greatest breeders and friends from across the U.S., and we couldn’t be more excited to have this chance to work with these true ranchers and cattlemen from South Dakota and surrounding states. It is always a true testament to our breed when you have a set of cattle put together from the many different backgrounds and operations like you will find at the Source Sale. Whether you are looking for open females ready to grow into future matriarchs or breds, on their way to earning potential, or that next Simmental influenced steer destined for the purple; you will have the chance to make that selection on December 10th. Make sure that as you plan your trip, you make time to be with us on Friday night, December 9th for the South Dakota Simmental Association Annual Meeting. It is always great to come and look at good cattle, but it makes the experience even more rewarding when you can come and fellowship with others who value the same thing as you in a relaxed setting. We purchased the dam of Y8 and Y9 as a bred heifer from the Kube Simmental dispersion. I could tell from her first calf, a full sib to these girls as well, that she was donor material. The mating to Olie really clicked with this cow, the heifers are made right, deep middled, moderate framed, with a little added length. The bulls are the same way, super deep and soggy made. They should definitely go on to be outstanding bull producers for their new owners. Homozygous black and polled.
