Junior Scholarship Program Any Heifer bought out of the Red Carpet Event Sale, shown by a Junior, is eligible. The animal must place Grand Champion or Reserve Grand Champion at the following shows to qualify: County Fair......................................................................................................................$100 Jackpots (100 head of breeding cattle or more)................................................$250 Regional/State Shows.................................................................................................$500 (ex. American Royal, Western Regional Jr. Angus Show, Atlantic National) National Jr. Angus Show.......................................................................................... $1000

Dear Fellow Breeders, Welcome to the 3rd Red Carpet Event. We’re very excited this year to once again have Brumley Farms from Orovada, Nevada as sale partners, and we welcome with open arms Tara Farms from Orland, California to the Red Carpet team. Both of these programs are offering a superior set of cattle in this year’s sale. It has been a great spring and summer at Pheasant Trek as this year’s offering just continues to get better each day. We can honestly say this may be the strongest heifer group yet to sell from Pheasant Trek. After all of the anticipation of waiting for these calves we truly now have confirmation that the Pheasant Trek females have the genetic heritage to be some of the most sought after females in the breed. The Pheasant Trek commitment to the juniors remains strong; our passion for working with juniors that want to be involved with this great breed is the driving force behind what we do. The females that we’re offering this year are all going to get the job done, they all have strong pedigrees to back them up and a world of future before them, we can’t say enough about what a great group they are. We continue to make pay outs from our scholarship program and we hope we’ll be writing some big checks as the year progresses. It’s hard to believe that it was just ten years ago that it was Mercedes, Jim and Sherry and just a small handful of cows that had just completed their show careers. Since that time we’ve come a long way; we’ve bred several National Champions and along the way learned so much about the business and the folks involved that it would become a novel, if we were to write it all down. We’ve stumbled, got back up brushed off the dust and moved forward all on the backs of that small group of great cows. We’re proud of the fact that we’re number ten on the list of ROV Breeders of the Year for 2010-2011, it says a lot about the strength of the genetics in this program. The Red Carpet Event is more then just a sale, it truly is an event to come and enjoy with your fellow breeders, bring the kids to enjoy the “Halloween Hall” complete with a face painter and goodies galore. This year we are going to have a one of a kind fitting demonstration that will hit on every aspect of getting one ready, I highly recommend it for every junior, and of course the costume contest should not be missed. Come enjoy a great lunch as we celebrate the harvest season and toast the great Angus breed. Once again, we want to thank our amazing sale partners, who are what a “dream team” is made of. Putting this event together with this wonderful crew has been one of the best adventures ever. The sale will be on Live Auctions TV and sale representatives will be available to handle phone bids as well. If we can answer any questions about the offering, make reservations or offer directions, don’t hesitate to call. Come join us and watch the “stars” come out!

Dear Friends, It is with great pleasure that we invite you to this year’s sale. It has been an incredible year and we feel that this offering speaks for its self! We have been through an unbelievable spring and summer on the desert with water on the meadows late into July which is pretty much unheard of. The cows have come in with these fancy heifers at their sides and we are so excited about their future. We have based our entire breeding program on cows that not only can show but most importantly WORK in the pasture. We have not been able to do much in the way of ET work because of our remote location but the only two embryo heifers we calved are in this year’s offering. This set of heifers is backed by elite momma’s that are powerful and have beautiful udders. The EPD’s on this set is second to none, not to mention the cutting edge genetics. The two fall heifers already have a “banner under their belt” and we believe this is only the beginning for these special girls along with the others. Kari not only won the senior showmanship at this year’s Jr. Nationals but earned the prestigious “Premier Exhibitor” with the two fall heifers in her show string! Please take a look at the entire offering and if you have any questions please feel free to contact us, and again we would be honored to have you join us on this exciting day in October! Don, Skeeter, Kari, Brooke and Bryce

Congratulations Kari! 2011 Premier Exhibitor Jr Hereford National Show.

Dear Angus Breeders and Friends, It’s with great honor and appreciation that we have been asked to join the Danekas and Brumley families in this sale. We feel we share the same vision for cattle with structural correctness and soundness, it is a prerequisite in our breeding program. Our family has been raising registered Angus cattle for 61 years, started by my father in 1950 when a bull named “Homeplace Eileenmere 99” was popular. We have watched the fads come and go but always held to the principles of balanced traits. My father has always had the eye for the good ones and being a University livestock judge, he taught us kids the same. Cow families have been important to us and we are fortunate to have some of the Craigie bred females from the great Conneally herd of Nebraska. These are females bred for dosility, longevity, correctness, feet and legs. We are proud of this offering and feel they will enhance your program in many ways. Take note of the performance of the “Iron Mountain”, “Pioneer”, “Final Answer”, and “Thunder” calves. I would like to thank all of my family, my father Don, my wife, Ruth, Ross and Mark for all the help in bringing this all together. I look forward to visiting with you all at the sale! Sincerely, Joel & Ruth Popken Don Popken Tara Farms
