Cattlemen of All Ages, It is my honor to invite you to the opening weekend of the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic. The Classic opening weekend features new events for the Classic Ranch Horses. The Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic has restructured the Ranch Horse activities to better showcase the Classic sale horses. If you are looking for a good ranch horse, you will want to check out all the events that the sale horses have to compete in during the opening weekend activities. If you are looking at a sale horse, I strongly encourage you to mark your calendar and arrive at the Classic by 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 15th. Saturday afternoon will showcase the open roping preview and the Ranch Rodeo will start at 5 p.m. The Classic will be presenting several different awards during the events on Saturday. These events are designed for you to see how well the horses will work. The Classic is excited to hold the Barn Party that evening, with live music. Sunday kicks off with the Ranch Horse Competition. The horses will sell on Sunday, February 16th at 2 pm. There are a lot of new events and activities at the Classic on opening weekend. Make sure and check out all the activities on the schedule. There will be several commercial trade show booths set-up during this weekend.

She has had a successful career in the show pen, earning 7 AQHA points in the reining. She has raised several outstanding colts for us and we are keeping two of her fillies for replacement mares. We started riding her again this fall and she hasn’t missed a beat. Could go on in the reining or would excel in the ranch versatility. She really watches a cow and we have started pen roping on her in the arena as well. Whether you need a great broodmare, a ranch horse, or a show horse, Misty fits the bill. Ali Jack JF Ali Gig HLC Freckles Gig Zelda is a very mature 4 year old mare with good conformation and foundation breeding galore. This dark chestnut mare has been used on the ranch for all sorts of cattle work, moving, checking and sorting. She is kind and gentle. Great ground manners which makes her enjoyable to be around. You will find Freckles Gigolo twice in her pedigree. He was a Dry Box stallion for close to 20 years. Freckles colts went on to succeed as top PRCA horses, to top amateur horses, top breeding programs and on the ranch. You will look high and low to find the famous foundation breeding of Orphan Drift listed on the papers; usually too far back in the pedigree. Doc’s Jack Frost is the sire of Sun Frost, a well known sire in the performance horse world. To top it off San Crystalita was an own daughter of Sak Em San, another popular sire of athletic, versatile horses. Zelda’s hind legs are set up under her with hocks low to the ground making it easy for her to stop. Buy this well rounded mare with confidence, she has no holes, no scars and is well broke. Go to www.drybox.com to see the full pedigree on HLC Utahs Zelda. You’ll find it under private treaty but this mare is only for sale at the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic. PC Stallone Larsons Shi Maid Miss Whetsone Bay I’ve used this gelding in the feed yard on a daily basis for the last year & a half. He works gates with just leg cues.Very handy for pulling sick cattle and sorting. We also run 2500 head of 500 lb. calves on cornstalks so I rope and doctor by myself and this is the horse I’ve used for 2 winters. He works a rope and ground ties while I’m down doctoring. He is broke in the body, at the poll and at the withers. He has had plenty of opportunity to buck on cold mornings but has never so much as humped up. On a real windy day he will shy at silly things but that is the only quirk he has. Definitely one of the toughest horses I’ve ever rode. He really walks out and covers a lot of ground and can also really run. He has been an important individual in my string of feedlot horses.
