• Birth Wt. 90 lbs. • “2012 AJSA National Donation Lot WOW!!! What else can we say about this young heifer, you are probably wondering why would someone just donate this beautiful solid red heifer. Well let us fill you in real quick, the Ohio Simmental Association did a pregnancy raffle to raise money for the 2012 AJSA National Classic to be held in Lima, OH and this raffle was made possible because 5 very generous farms were willing to donate a pregnant recipient carrying a mating of their choice. Tickets were sold and the winner was drawn at the sale at the NAILE this past fall and the lucky winner was Scheiderer Farms in Plain City, OH. Roger Scheiderer the owner of the farm was so excited about his win that he wanted to be able to help the Juniors out even more. The pregnancy donated by Haley Farms had all ready calved before the drawing with this great heifer so he decided that she would be given back to the juniors and sold at the Ohio Beef Expo to help raise even more money to help put on the nationals. If you have a junior that is still looking for a heifer to take to nationals this year then look her up in Columbus because she is going to be very competitive come this summer. The best part about it is that she can be shown for 2 years so take her on to Nebraska for Nationals next year. This young heifer keeps getting better everyday and it is very exciting to watch her grow, she is clean up through her front, smooth made, deep bodied, thick topped and then you get behind her and she will not disappoint. She carries herself with pride which gives her that show ring look that you need to catch the judge’s eye. On behalf of the Ohio juniors I encourage everyone to take a look at this little lady and should you have any questions please contact Pam Haley at Haley Farms as the heifer will remain there till expo time.”

• Selling 6 Embryos to the bull of buyers choice, guaranteeing 3 pregnancies. • Starlight is one of the best Simmental females we have been involved with and had the pleasure to take care of on the day to day. However this female is owned by our daughter Erin. This female was bred by Shenandoah Valley in Virginia and we purchased at a young age. She has always been the right type and kind with thickness and extreme rib and body capacity. This female is good in her joints and is superb in her overall structure. As this heifer matured, she just kept getting better and even more impressive. Back in the summer at the competitive Ohio State Fair this female claimed Grand Champion honors. We appreciate all the positive comments made many Simmental breeders and cattlemen at the state fair and the prestigious North American were she claimed Reserve Senior Champion honors In our recent online sale we sold half interest for $14,000 to Baker/Whitten. Doug hit us up early and about selling this heifer however Erin decided to have Starlight in her future however we promised to make some genetics available at the Ohio Expo. The Simmental breed is strong and we feel Starlight can help impact someone breeding program. We are selling six embryos on a mutually agreed bull. For details on the flush - contact Kerry Lawerence or DP Sales Management.

At Shenandoah Valley we have breeding Simmental cattle for many years and have been just overwhelmed by the comments and interest in the Rosebud and Black Ruby cow families. Rosebud is the dam of the Starlight female that went on to win the Ohio State fair for Erin Lawerence. Kerry and family have done an excellent job with the development and promotion of Starlight. We sold embryos in our fall sale from Starlight’s grand dam and they were purchased by Dean Wittrig in Missouri. We know all the family members in this pedigree and they won’t let you down. Selling full sib eggs to Starlight and we hope you will be as happy as Erin, not doubt here.

Scarlet was a new addition to our donor pen last year as she has proven year after year that she would produce the great ones. The decision to use STF Dominance T171 was our chance to combine one of our other great donors, Kiss This, into this mating and we were sure that everything would click. With this first flush Scarlet has out done herself, all of the eggs that we put in ended up to be heifers and they are all deep bodied, strong topped, and sound structured with all the potential to follow in their dam and grandam’s foot steps. If you are thinking yes that all sounds good but I need to see the proof, well look no further as one of these first heifers is being offered up as the Junior donation lot right here at the expo so come to Columbus and see for yourself. If you are looking for some outstanding red genetics to add to your herd we think this is a place to start, we are looking forward to visiting with you about these genetics and what they can offer you.

Belle produced over $25,000 worth of progeny by Meyer 734 alone. The Macho mating has worked several times and is highly predictable. If you remember Belle progeny have been sale toppers in past sales such as the Holiday Classic. A Macho female was a class winner at the 2010 NAILE SimSolution show. Full sib embryos to the bull and heifer we are consigning to the expo. Many possibilities with these embryos and the half blood mating’s will work in percentage or club calf program. The SimAngus bulls and females will be in demand as the Simmental explosion continues.

Guaranteeing 2 Pregnancies if work is performed by a certified AETA technician. • At Sloup Simmetals we have had great success with members of the legendary Ebony Antionette cow family. We selected Ebonys Charm out of the Pine Ridge dispersal and now with several progeny on the ground by different sires and it looks like she is not going to take a back seat on the production end. Charm is a full sister to Ebony Rose , a donor for Sunset View and Sanders Ranch. Those are the only two daughters by War Nitro. We flushed Charm to the Hartman/ Conley bull SS High Voltage. This American Royal champion is near flawless in his design and should produce at a high level. We have always believed in strong cow families and these combined are definitely some of the breeds best. Selling your choice of 3 or 5 embryos with the proper guarantees. These genetics are a rare find and produce bulls as well as great females. Her genetics have come to the forefront for Dave Nichols, Bridgewwater, Iowa, Gib Yardley, Beaver, Utah, Larry Martin, Illinois, and also, ask Randy Caldwell of Champion Farms how his Sahara Daughter has done for him! This is a great opportunity to purchase this hard to find, high quality cow. Doug Parke twisted our arm for a great one and we feel we have done our best to offer “QUEEN”. On the paternal side, Jillian’s Trademark is out of the Jillian which is a full sister to High Voltage’s grand mother. Of course the Broker bull is a son of H25 and the same family. • Whether you pick your bulls out on paper, pedigree, or phenotype a guy should really like these bulls. As I’ve said before we really like our L508 calves this year and these 2 bulls are no exception. These bulls are stout, big boned, big footed and possess lots of style. Both of these bulls have a great future breeding cattle, and the show ring if desired. These L508 calve are no stranger to the winners circle. There maternal sib STF Bambi was reserve grand as a calf at the 03 NAILE. Also a full brother to Y33, STF Elan, won the calf division in both Louisville and Denver just last year and has not been shown since. Most recently a full brother to Y39 was Reserve Grand Bull as a calf at the Indiana state fair. These bulls will benefit whatever program they go into, so don’t miss your opportunity at owning one.

There are no warranties, expressed or implied, by either the auctioneer or consignor, except as set forth herein, as to the merchantability of fitness for any particular purpose of any animal offered in this sale. The right to bid or the right to reject the final bid, if done before the hammer falls, is reserved for all sellers unless otherwise announced from the sale block or as prohibited by law in the state wherein the sale is being conducted. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Any change of information other than in the catalog will be announced from the auction block and such announcements shall take precedence over printed material. All statements made from the auction block or those made by the seller (in private treaty) must be documented by seller if requested by the buyer at time of sale. TERMS: Terms of sale are cash unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made with the seller previous to the sale of any animal so affected. PURCHASER’S RISK: Each animal becomes the property of and therefore is also the risk of the purchaser as soon as it is sold; except it shall be the obligation of the seller to see that animals are fed and cared for free of charge to purchaser, until loaded for shipment or until the expiration of twenty-four (24) hours after the sale, whichever occurs first. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: 1. All cattle entered for sale must meet the health regulations of the state in which they are sold. All other agreements regarding the health of the animal will be between the buyer and seller and should be documented in writing. 2. If sale cattle are returned to the seller for an adjustment, they must meet the health requirements of the state they are returned to. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY: Each animal which is catalogued, offered and sold as a registered animal shall have a certificate of registry available at time of sale. When an animal is sold as “eligible for registry” or “registry applied for”, the seller shall be responsible for obtaining the certificate of registry and for the proper transfer of the certificate to the purchaser including full payment of transfer fees. IDENTIFICATION: Each animal at time of sale must have a readable tattoo or brand corresponding to that shown on the certificate of registration. AUTHENTICITY OF PEDIGREE: When an animal, through parental validation, is determined to have an ancestry other than that reported on the registration certificate, the buyer shall be entitled to a refund of the purchase price from the seller upon return of the animal to the farm of the seller at the seller’s expense. The animal in question, at the buyer’s option, may be exchanged for another animal of equal value, or if agreeable with the buyer, the seller may have the certificate returned to the buyer. Any adjustment provided herein, if selected, shall absolve the seller from further liability for authenticity of pedigree to the buyer. BREEDING GUARANTEES AND DEFINITIONS: 1. Any guarantees with respect to the ability to freeze semen shall be made by separate agreement between buyer and seller. 4. Safe in calf females are females that have been diagnosed pregnant by a competent veterinarian, and are pregnant at time of sale. 5. A bred female is a female known to have been served by a bull either by natural breeding or artificial insemination, but it does not necessarily mean that the female is safe in calf to that service. 6. POLLED — An animal with absence of horn growth. (An animal can have scurs and still be genetically polled.) 4. SMOOTH POLLED — A smooth-polled individual has no scurs and does not develop scurs later in life. GUARANTEES: 1. If an animal is sold as polled or polled/scurred and proves to be horned, the seller shall be obligated to refund the purchase price upon return of the animal to the farm of the seller at the expense of the seller or may be exchanged for a polled animal of equal value whichever is acceptable to the buyer. The buyer has thirty (30) days from date of sale to notify the seller that an adjustment is in order. 2. If an animal is sold as smooth-polled and proves to be scurred, the seller shall be obligated to refund the price upon return of the animal to the farm of the seller at the expense of the seller or at the buyer’s option shall be exchanged for a smooth-polled animal of equal value. 3. If an animal is sold as polled and develops scurs, the seller will not be obligated to make any adjustment as a scurred animal is considered polled. 4. If an animal is sold as polled and has scurs, it shall be so announced at the time of sale that the animal has scurs. If it is not announced and the buyer finds before the animal leaves the sale premises that the animal has scurs, the buyer must notify the seller of the findings. The seller shall then be obligated to refund the purchase price. OPTIONS AND PRIVILEGES OF RETURN OR ADJUSTMENT: The following adjustments do not preclude the right of the buyer and seller to mutually agree upon other terms and conditions for settlement of any dispute. 1. All claims for adjustment or refund must be made in writing either six (6) months from the date of sale or no later than when the animal reaches 24 months of age whichever occurs later, with the exception of claims involving misrepresentation of service sire or as otherwise provided herein. 2. In the event an animal is claimed to be a nonbreeder, the animal may be returned to the farm of the seller, at the buyer’s expense, if in good physical condition, and the return is in compliance with the health requirements of the seller’s state. The seller shall be entitled to a six (6) month trial period following the return of the animal in which to prove the animal is a breeder. If at the end of six (6) months the seller is unable to prove the animal is a breeder, the seller shall, at the option of buyer, replace the animal with another equal value or refund the purchase price. Either option shall be deemed full satisfaction and settlement. 3. If a female is sold as “safe in calf” to a given sire or sires on a specified date or dates and proves not to be as represented, the buyer is entitled to a refund of the purchase price from the seller upon return of the animal and resulting progeny thereof to the farm of the seller at the seller’s expense. 4. If a female is sold as “open” and proves to be with calf at time of sale and examined pregnant within sixty (60) days after sale, the buyer may return the animal to the farm of the seller prior to calving for a refund of the full purchase price or for another animal of equal value, whichever acceptable to the buyer. It shall be the obligation of the seller to bear any expenses incurred for transportation of the animal in question to the farm of the seller. GENETIC TESTING AND TraitTrac STATUS: Sellers must identify the TraitTrac status and the results of any qualitative genetic testing performed on any animals or genetic material offered for sale. The ASA considers it an unethical practice to misrepresent or fail to disclose the TraitTrac status or qualitative genetic test results of any animal or genetic material.
