Pure Genetics will debut genetics by Basin Yellowstone R178, a uniquely pedigreed bull whose genetics are not currently available commercially. Herd Reduction Dear Friends and Fellow Cattlemen, With some hesitation my brother have come to the conclusion it is time we made some changes at Angus Acres. After some discussion with Al Conover it was decided we would join the 2011 Midwest Connection Sale with an Angus Acres herd reduction offering of some of our best females. We have been a part of the Midwest Connection Sale for many years with Angus Acres holding many of the sale records. We selected from within the herd a variety of cattle that should be of interest to many different cattlemen. There are show heifers, open heifers, bred heifers, bred cows and claves and one select bull. They are sired by many of the Angus leading A.I. sires and bred back to some of the future top Angus A.I. sires. We have balanced the selection traits in our herd at Angus Acres to produce cattle that will make a proﬁt. We selected cows to calve each year, wean calves over 600 lbs. depending on the type of ration they received. This should yield an animal ready for market at 12 to 15 months of age. This animal should have a carcass weight of over 750 lbs., grade US Choice, with a ribeye of at least 12.5 sq. inches and have less than 0.40 inches of backfat.
