n the northwest most corner of Kansas, close to the Nebraska and Colorado state lines, sits the small farming community of St. Francis. Like most small towns in the Midwest, it lays host to a tractor dealership, a couple gas stations, and of course a small town café. Per the usual, it’s surrounded by farm ground and grass, and any scenery that isn’t littered by corn is certainly covered by cows. Just outside of town sits the site of a cattle operation focused on maintaining a standard as a commercial operation that not many in our industry do. It can best be described as a hybrid commercial operation with a strong focus on genetic progress and herd health. ... continued on page 16
