Growing up on a cattle ranch in South Dakota, Bryan Nagel knew that’s what he wanted to do the rest of his life. When he had the opportunity to move back to the home place he did just that. In 2009, Bryan and his family moved back to the home place where his father, John, had previously run a feedlot. When he returned, they also took the opportunity to expand the operation, which now has a 2,200 head capacity. The feedlot, which is located in southeast South Dakota, near the town of Avon, is filled with 60 percent custom fed cattle and 40 percent owned by Nagel.
