The Christian County Agricultural Fair Association reserves the right to reduce the premiums listed in the 2011 Christian County Fair book and the website by a like percentage. Also, 72 hour rule is to be observed unless otherwise notified by a fair official. All entry fees must be paid prior to show time.

2011 Exhibition Livestock Health Requirements County Fairs GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Exhibitors are required to familiarize themselves with all rules applicable to their exhibits.

2. All out-of-state animals shall require an entry permit. Permits are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling (217) 7824944.

3. All animals, except as noted, shall be accompanied by a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) which shows that the animal meets all health requirements for the State of Illinois. CVI’s shall be made available to Bureau of Animal Health Personnel on request.

CVI means a legible record made on an official form from the state of origin which has been issued, signed and dated by an accredited veterinarian and which shows the name and address of the animal’s owner or exhibitor and the results of all required tests or vaccinations.

A CVI shall list only one animal identification per line; shall be presented on the form on which it was initially issued; and shall not be corrected, changed or altered in any manner.

4. All animals shall be officially identified. The animal(s) official identification shall be recorded on the CVI. 5. If animals are from tuberculosis accredited, brucellosis certified, pseudorabies qualified, or brucellosis validated herds, the identifying herd number(s) along with the date of the last herd test(s) shall appear on the CVI. 6. CVI for out-of-state livestock shall be void thirty (30) days after issuance.

7. CVI for Illinois-origin livestock shall be void ninety (90) days after issuance.

8. All livestock shall be subject to examination upon entry to any Illinois fair or exhibition. Any animal showing evidence of infectious, contagious or communicable diseases shall be immediately withdrawn and held in quarantine at the owner’s risk and expense until properly treated and recovered, or until the animal is released to return to the owner’s premise. Any livestock infected with scabies, mange, active lesions of ringworm, soremouth, or multiple warts which are easily visible without close examination shall not be permitted to exhibit and are subject to quarantine or removal from the fairgrounds. Sheep and goats with caseous lymphadenitis as evidenced by draining abscesses shall not be exhibited and are subject to immediate quarantine or removal from the fairgrounds.

9. Illinois Department of Agriculture personnel or designee may collect blood, tissue, milk or urine samples from any animal being exhibited and/or raced at any Illinois fair to test for the presence of illegal drugs or banned substances. New examination techniques, such as ultrasound, may also be used at anytime while the animals are on the grounds of any Illinois fair or exhibit. The Illinois Department of Agriculture or designee may collect urine, blood, tissue or other test samples from exhibition animals at the time of slaughter.

10. All exhibitors of animals at any Illinois fair or exhibition shall comply with the provisions of the Illinois Humane Care for Animals Act. If violations are observed, the animals(s) will be excused from exhibition and ordered removed from the grounds with all awards being forfeited. Any practice or deviation from normal, accepted care, including physical, medical or mechanical application, shall constitute a violation of show rules and may result in the animal(s) disqualification and removal from the fairgrounds.

11. Any Illinois cattle, bison, cervidae or goats being exhibited in non-accredited free states must be isolated from the remainder of the herd/flock upon return to Illinois and retested for tuberculosis 60-120 days post-entry.

CATTLE Identification Individual identification of each animal shall be either a fully healed and legible tattoo, official metal ear tag, registration number (can only be used if the tattoo is recorded on the registration certificate or for breeds where pictures are acceptable), or individual brands, if brand is recorded on the registration certificate.

Illinois Cattle Brucellosis Illinois is a Bovine Brucellosis Class-Free State. Brucellosis testing is not required for Illinois cattle.

Tuberculosis Illinois is an Accredited Tuberculosis- Free State. Tuberculin testing is not required for Illinois cattle.

Please note: Illinois calves under 6 months of age, and Illinois steers are not required to have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection.

Out-of-State-Cattle Permit 1. All out-of-state cattle are to be accompanied by an entry permit.

2. Permits are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling (217) 782-4944.

Brucellosis 1. Female cattle six (6) months of age and older and bulls eighteen (18) months of age and older shall be negative to an official test for

brucellosis within thirty (30) days prior to entry, unless exempt by one (1) of the following: A. Originate directly from a certified brucellosis-free herd.

B. Official vaccinates of dairy breeds under twenty (20) months of age or official vaccinates of beef breeds under twentyfour (24) months of age.

C. Animal originated from a “Class Free” state (if entire state is so classified) D. Steers and spayed heifers are not required to be tested for brucellosis.

2. The negative brucellosis test shall be conducted at a state or federal laboratory within 30 days prior to exhibition.

Tuberculosis 1. Accredited Tuberculosis Free States A. No tuberculin test required. All cattle, including steers, originating from an Accredited Tuberculosis Free State, may enter Illinois for exhibition when accompanied by a CVI issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days.

2. Non-Accredited Tuberculosis Free Areas or States (Not TB Free) A. Cattle must originate from a herd where a complete herd test was conducted within the past year.

B. The individual animals entering Illinois must be negative to an additional tuberculin test conducted within 30 days prior to exhibition.

C. Cattle that enter Illinois for exhibition and remain in Illinois (animal does not return to the state of origin within 30 days) must be isolated and retested for TB 60-120 days from the last official TB test date.

SWINE Illinois Swine Identification 1. Swine shall be identified by an official ear tag, tattoo or recognized breed ear notch.

2. Ear notch identification is acceptable for barrows, crossbred gilts and breeding swine. (Note: Ear notch identification of crossbred swine does not satisfy USDA identification requirements for brucellosis and pseudorabies testing.)

Brucellosis Brucellosis testing is not required for Illinois swine.

Pseudorabies All exhibition swine are required to be tested for pseudorabies as described below.

1. Swine of all ages shall be negative to an official test for pseudorabies conducted within 90 days prior to exhibition; or swine shall originate immediately and directly from a qualified pseudorabies negative herd.

2. Barrows and females in market classes must meet the same requirements as breeding swine.

Additional Requirements 1. Swine consigned to terminal market classes must meet the same test requirements as exhibition swine if these classes are held in conjunction with “exhibits not intended for slaughter”.

2. When terminal classes are held on a day when no other livestock are present, these animals are exempt from all test requirements and do not need a CVI. All swine terminal classes must be identified by a site tattoo prior to movement to slaughter.

3. Swine from pseudorabies-quarantined herds are not allowed to exhibit regardless of whether or not the show is terminal or nonterminal.

4. The Illinois and DuQuoin State Fairs are not classified as terminal shows.

Out-of-State Swine Permit 1. All out-of-state swine are to be accompanied by an entry permit.

2. Permits are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling (217) 782-4944.

Identification 1. Individually identified by an official ear tag, tattoo or recognized breed ear notch.

2. Ear notch identification is not acceptable for crossbred animals.

Brucellosis 1. Breeding swine 4 months of age and older shall be negative to an official test for brucellosis within 30 days prior to exhibition unless exempt by one (1) of the following: A. Originate immediately and directly from a brucellosis-free herd.

B. Originate directly from a validated brucellosis-free state.

2. Swine brucellosis tests for exhibition shall be conducted at a state or federal laboratory.

Pseudorabies All exhibition swine are required to be tested for pseudorabies as described below.

1. Swine shall be negative to an official test for pseudorabies conducted within the past thirty (30) days prior to entry or originate immediately and directly from a qualified pseudorabies negative herd.

2. Barrows and females in market classes must meet the same requirements as breeding swine.

3. The Illinois and DuQuoin State Fairs are not classified as terminal shows.

SHEEP Identification Individual identification of each animal shall be by an ear tattoo or official metal or plastic tag. A microchip ID is acceptable if the owner provides the reader.

Ear tattoos may be used when a registration certificate, listing the tattoo number, accompanies the animal.

When using ear tags, the tag must indicate the premises ID and state of origin. The tag number must be assigned by a state or APHIS representative and recorded in the Scrapie Record Database.

Market Lambs All wethers must be slick shorn (show ring ready) before weigh-in so that show lamb fungus can be identified.

Illinois Sheep 1. Sheep originating from a flock that has previously been classified as either an infected or source flock can be exhibited in Illinois upon the completion of an approved flock plan.

2. For any animal born after 1/1/2002, the CVI must include the flock of birth and the flock of origin, if different.

Out-of-State Sheep 1. All out-of-state sheep are to be accompanied by an entry permit. Permits are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling (217) 782-4944.

2. Sheep originating from a flock that has previously been classified as either an infected or source flock can be exhibited in Illinois upon the completion of an approved flock plan.

3. For any animal born after 1/1/2002, the CVI must include the flock of birth and the flock of origin, if different.

GOATS Identification Individual identification of each animal shall be by an ear tattoo or official metal or plastic tag. A microchip ID is acceptable if the owner provides the reader. Tattoos may be used when a registration certificate, listing the tattoo number, accompanies the animal. When using ear tags, the tag must indicate the premises ID and state of origin. If there is no space in the ear, the flank or tail fold may be used.

Illinois Goats 1. Goats originating from a herd that has previously been classified as either an infected or source herd can be exhibited in Illinois upon the completion of an approved herd plan.

2. For any animal born after 1/1/2002, the CVI must include the flock of birth and the flock of origin, if different.

Out-of-State Goats 1. All out-of-state goats are to be accompanied by an entry permit. Permits are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling (217) 782-4944.

2. Goats originating from a herd that has previously been classified as either an infected or source herd can be exhibited in Illinois upon the completion of an approved herd plan.

3. Tuberculosis- Goats from areas or states that are not Accredited Bovine Tuberculosis Free, must be accompanied by a CVI indicating that the goats originated from a herd where a complete negative herd test has been conducted within the past twelve (12) months and the individual animals are negative to a tuberculin test conducted within thirty (30) days prior to entry. For any animal born after 1/1/2002, the CVI must include the flock of birth and the flock of origin, if different.

HORSES, PONIES, MULES AND OTHER EQUIDAE Illinois Equine 1. All horses and other equidae, twelve (12) months of age and older attending an advertised equine event, shall be accompanied by a negative test for equine infectious anemia (EIA) conducted within the last twelve (12) months. A copy of this test shall accompany the animal.

2. AGID (Coggins) or ELISA tests are accepted.

3. An advertised equine event means a show, rodeo, sale, auction, exhibition, trail ride, or horse fair that is posted or media promoted.

4. A CVI is not required for Illinois equine.

Out-of-State Equine 1. All out-of-state equine are to be accompanied by an entry permit. Permits are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling (217) 782-4944.

2. All horses and other equidae entering Illinois that are twelve (12) months of age or older, shall be accompanied by a negative test for equine infectious anemia (EIA) conducted within the last twelve (12) months. A copy of this test shall accompany the animal.

3. AGID (Coggins) or ELISA tests are accepted.

4. All horses and other equidae shall be accompanied by a CVI issued within thirty (30) days prior to entry.

POULTRY 1. All entries (except waterfowl, i.e. domesticated fowl that normally swim, such as ducks and geese) in a show or exhibition shall have originated from a U.S. Pullorum-Typhoid Clean or equivalent hatchery or flock OR have a negative pullorum-typhoid test within 90 days prior to exhibition. Exhibitor shall show proper information as to name and address of owner or exhibitor, name and address of the

authorized testing agent, date of the testing and the number, breed, and species of those tested.

2. Prior to being used to transport poultry to a show, all crates, boxes, containers and vehicles shall be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

3. Any poultry vaccinations must be performed at least 4 weeks prior to delivery to the show.

4. Upon admission to a show, all entries shall be examined by the official county fair veterinarian or qualified state personnel who shall also receive and examine all certificates necessary for admission of birds to a show. Birds not in show condition will be excused from exhibition and removed from the premises. Any fowl showing signs of illness during the fair will be removed from the exhibition grounds.

5. All out-of-state turkeys must originate from flocks that are officially classified as U.S. Mycoplasma Gallisepticum Clean in accordance with the provisions of the National Poultry Improvement Plan or be negative to a test for Mycoplasma gallisepticum within 30 days prior to entry.

6. A permit is also required for out-of-state poultry. A permit may be obtained by calling (217) 782-4944.

Please note: These poultry exhibition requirements do not apply to 4-H and FFA 1-day poultry shows where the entries are taken to the show and returned home the same day. However, a permit is required for out-of-state poultry.

CERVIDAE (Deer, Elk, Reindeer, Caribou, Moose, Red Deer and other Related Species) Identification All animals shall be individually identified with an approved tag, microchip or tattoo. Elk are required to have two official/approved unique identifiers.

Illinois Cervidae Chronic Wasting Disease For cervidae changing ownership or moving within the State, the owner must obtain a permit issued by the Department prior to movement and the cervid must originate from a herd that is enrolled in the Certified Monitored Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) Program or the Contained Monitored Chronic Wasting Disease Program. The permit shall be obtained no more than 72 hours in advance of the movement of the cervids by providing the following information: A) Name and complete mailing address of person exhibiting the cervids; B) Certified Monitored Chronic Wasting Disease or Contained Monitored Chronic Wasting Disease Herd number; C) Name and complete mailing address of location where the animals will be exhibited; D) Number of animals and unique identification of the animals.

Tuberculosis Illinois is an Accredited Tuberculosis-Free State. Tuberculin test is not required for Illinois cervidae.

Out-of-State Cervidae Chronic Wasting Disease 1. All cervidae entering Illinois must be in compliance with the Illinois Wildlife Code [520 ILCS 5]. For more information, contact the Illinois Department of Natural Resources at 217/782-6384.

2. All cervidae entering Illinois must be accompanied by a permit from the Department and a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection that: a. has been issued by an accredited veterinarian of the state of origin or a veterinarian in the employ of the United States Department of Agriculture; b. is approved by the Animal Health Official of the state of origin; c. shows that the cervidae are free from visible evidence of any contagious, infectious or communicable disease or exposure thereto, do not originate from a CWD endemic area (any county and surrounding counties where CWD has been diagnosed in the past five years); d. shows that the cervidae are not originating from a herd under quarantine for any contagious, infectious or communicable disease; e. shows that the animals originate from a herd that has been monitored for at least 5 years under a state-approved CWD certification program.

3. A permit number can be obtained by calling (217) 782-4944. Applicant for permit shall furnish the following information to the Department: a. Name and post office mailing address of Illinois destination; b. Name and post office mailing address of the consignor and/or source herds; c. Name and post office mailing address of the herd veterinarian; d. Number and unique identification of cervidae in shipment.

Brucellosis Cervidae six (6) months of age and older must have a negative brucellosis card or PCFIA test within sixty (60) days prior to entry.

Tuberculosis 1. Accredited Tuberculosis Free States All cervidae twelve (12) months of age and over shall be negative to two (2) single cervical test for bovine TB no less than ninety (90) days apart with the second test conducted within ninety (90) days prior to entry. These animals shall be isolated from all other members of the herd during the testing period unless they originate from an accredited, qualified or monitored herd.

A. Cervidae from an accredited herd may be moved into Illinois without further TB testing provided that a certificate stating that such cervids originated from an accredited herd accompanies them.

B. Cervidae originating from qualified or monitored herds may enter with a negative test within ninety (90) days prior to entry and a certificate stating that the animals originate from a monitored herd.

2. Non-Accredited Tuberculosis Free Areas or States (Not TB Free) A. All cervidae shall originate from a herd where a complete herd test was conducted within the past year.

B. The individual animals entering Illinois must be negative to two (2) additional tuberculin tests conducted within 180 and 30 days prior to entry or exhibition.

RATITES (Ostriches, Emus, Rheas, Cassowaries and Kiwis) Illinois Ratites There are no requirements governing the movement of ratites within Illinois.

Out-of-State Ratites 1. Must be accompanied by a CVI and permit number.

2. Individually identified by leg band or microchip.

3. Negative test for Avian Influenza within 10 days prior to entry.

PIGEONS There are no requirements governing the movements of pigeons within or into Illinois.

RABBITS There are no requirements governing the movements of rabbits within or into Illinois.

LLAMAS There are no requirements governing the movement of llamas within Illinois. A permit and health certificate is required for out-of-state llamas. A permit may be obtained by calling (217) 782-4944.

Safeguarding American Agriculture Federal Relay Service APHIS is an agency of USDA’s Marketing and Regulatory Programs (Voice/TTY/ASCII/Spanish) An Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer 1-800-877-8339 February 26, 2009 Subject: Identification Requirements for Official Pseudorabies (PRV) and Brucellosis testing in swine According to the 2010 Illinois Exhibition Health Requirements for Illinois State Fair, DuQuoin State Fair, and county fairs, swine need to be tested for PRV. Swine of all ages shall be negative to an official test for PRV conducted within 90 days prior to exhibition; or swine shall originate immediately and directly from a qualified PRV negative herd. Barrows and females in market classes must meet the same requirements as breeding swine. Because PRV and Brucellosis are official state/federal cooperative disease programs, all testing for these diseases is considered official testing. Therefore, the animals tested must be officially at the time of testing and accompanying documents should include this official identification. Any interstate movements subsequent to exhibition are subject to requirements for official identification. Official identification is required for all interstate movement. Ear notching is only appropriate as official identification for swine when the ear notching has been recorded in the book of record of a purebred registry association. The use of ear notches is not acceptable as official identification for crossbred swine.

DEPARTMENT A BEEF CATTLE OPEN SHOW Premiums Offered - Total of Dept. - $26,244 Breeding Cattle - $22,194 Steer Show - $ 4,050 Superintendent - Jim Curtin “72 Hour Rule” Paid Entry Fee - $20.00. All entry fees must be paid prior to show on each class as well as all group classes.

Stall Rent Per Head - $7.00 Exhibitors Ticket - $10.00; $2.00/head clean out fee (funds go to FFA) All Beef Cattle must be in by 6:00 pm, Thursday July 14th, 2011.

1. Stall rent and exhibitor’s ticket absolutely must be paid for when entries are made.

2. No more than two monies will be paid to an exhibitor in any one class.

3. Satisfactory proof of the breeding of each animal must be produced if requested by the superintendent. All cattle must be registered with the national association of their breed.

4. Cattle that are shown in the Junior Show and Open Show in sons or daughters names may be used in the group classes with cattle that are being shown in their father or mothers name or farm name.

5. No crossbred heifer can be shown--regardless of age or birth date--that does not have all her milk teeth in place and no permanent teeth showing.

6. Entries close July 8th. No entries will be accepted after this date without permission of the superintendent.

7. Exhibitors ticket and stall fees must accompany all entries.

8. Entry fees must be paid on all steers & cattle before they are shown.

9. No trailers or cattle will be allowed on the infield. Exhibitors must bring tie out gates.

10. Stalls will be reserved for cattle only. Tack must be put in aisle.

11. All exhibitors must have a social security number when making entries.

12. No more than one butt fan will be allowed per animal. This rule will be enforced.

13. Registration papers will be checked by the superintendent at his request to verify ownership.

14. All group classes are subject to entry fees.

15. Definition of classes for Beef Cattle: Junior Yearling Bull: calved between January 1, 2010 and April 30, 2010.

Summer Yearling Bull: calved between May 1, 2010 and August 31, 2010.

Senior Bull Calf: calved between September 1, 2010 and October 31, 2010.

Winter Bull Calf: calved after November 1, 2010.

Spring Bull Calf: calved after January 1, 2011.

DEPARTMENT H JUNIOR LIVESTOCK

*IBA SANCTIONED SHOW* Rules and Regulations of Junior Livestock Department Open to All Junior Livestock Exhibitors Total premiums offered $16,871.00 All entry fees must be paid all prior to show.

1. Open to boys and girls who are 8 years of age prior to January of the year in which they will show or will not be 21 years of age until after December 31 of the year in which they will show. Animals shown in Junior Shows must be property of the boys and girls showing them. Beef animals owned by January 1 and Swine by June 1.

2. NO PARTNERSHIPS ALLOWED. All animals shown in junior shows must be the property of the boys and girls showing them.

This may be proven by your Registration Certificates. If these animals are shown in the open classes, they must be shown in the same name. Thus parents are not permitted to show an animal in the open class and the daughter or son the same animal in the Junior Show.

3. All registration and health papers will be checked by the Superintendents and his assistants.

4. All animals must be stabled on the grounds to be eligible for premiums in the Junior Show.

5. All stalls and pens must be cleaned by 9:00 A.M. each day and refuse placed as directed.

6. To show in the Open Classes, you must follow these rules and regulations.

7. No calves permitted on nurse cows while on the fairgrounds.

8. No steers permitted to be shown at the Christian County Agricultural Fair regardless of birth date that does not have all milk teeth in place and no permanent teeth showing. All steers to be mouthed and weighed commencing at 6:00 P.M., Friday, July 9, 2010 at the judging tent and will be placed in their respective classes. Any exhibitor who fails to bring steer for mouthing will be disqualified from showing.

9. All exhibitors must abide by the rules and regulations as shown in the front of this catalog.

10. There will be a full show of each breed as listed, provided all classes are filled.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. General Chairman will meet with cooks at 10:30 A.M. Chili will be fired at 12:00 Noon. Judging will be at 3:30 P.M. Awards and celebration of winners at 5:00 P.M. 2. Preparation and chopping may begin at 11:00 A.M. 3. Cooking will begin at 12:00 Noon.

4. True chili is defined by the International Chili Society as any kind of meat, or combination of meats, cooked with chili peppers, various spices and other ingredients.

5. The use of beans will. NOT be allowed. Can tomatoes and tomato sauce will be allowed. NO HOME CANNED PRODUCTS WILL BE ALLOWED. 6. All contestants competing in officially sanctioned cook offs shall supply all of their own ingredients, cooking devices (portable stoves), utensils, preparation tables, etc. The only thing provided is the cooking area.

7. No ingredients may be pre-cooked or treated in any way prior to the preparation period which will begin one hour prior to the commencement of the OFFICIAL CHILI COOKOFFS. 8. Competitors will be permitted to set up their equipment, stove, and other facilities at 9:00 A.M. 9. Competition cooking will begin at 12:00 Noon and official judging will begin at 3:00 P.M. 10. Each contestant must cook a minimum of 2 quarts of chili.

There will be no limit to how much chili you can prepare.

11. There will be NO spectator tasting until the judging has started.

12. Demonstrations throughout the spectator area are permitted.

However, contestants are asked that their support team respect the visitors and their view.

13. Each cook will be responsible for his own chili getting to the judging area. Also, that his judging cup has his official number on the bottom of his cup.

14. Official Judges will not be allowed to taste your chili before the judging.

15. Each contestant shall be permitted one assistant cook.

16. Decisions of the Chili Cook-off Chairman and the judges are final.

17. Violation of rules and regulations of the contest may result in disqualification.

OFFICIAL RULES OF THE 2011 CHRISTIAN COUNTY FAIR TALENT COMPETITION July 14, 2011

JUNIOR AND SENIOR DIVISIONS 1. All contestants must be Christian County citizens.

2. There will be a dress rehearsal at 12:00 noon on Thursday, July 14, 2011.

3. Any act that exceeds four-minute performance time limit will be disqualified. Timing starts when the act starts entertaining (including choreographed entrances and exits.)

4. Any act that exceeds the three-minute set up time limit will be disqualified. Timing starts when the first member of an act steps onto the stage.

5. Instrumental accompaniment is allowed, but must assume the pure character of the accompaniment. The test shall be whether the performance would stand alone if the accompaniment is removed.

6. When using CD’s or cassette tapes for accompaniment, they can NOT have LIKE talent on them, i.e. vocals, tap dancing, any like instrument and so forth. CD’s and/or Tapes must only have the one accompaniment track solely at the beginning of the tape.

CD’s and/or Tapes must be “cued” and ready for performance. (A backup tape is recommended, but NOT required.)

7. The first place winner in both divisions is obligated to represent Christian County at the State Competition in January 2012. In the event that the 2011 Christian County Fair Talent Competition First Place Winner in either division is unable to compete at the state competition in January 2012, the runner up will represent Christian County. Any act or member of an act that has ever represented Christian County at the state level and has received first place at the state level is ineligible to compete in the local

division of the same age category at the Christian County Fair. A contestant for the 2011 Miss Christian County Fair Pageant is not eligible for the 2011 Christian County Fair Talent Competition due to the fact it would be impossible to represent Christian County in both the Pageant and Talent Competition at the State level in January, 2012.

8. Junior and Senior Division age-information:

a. All entries that are not over fourteen years of age as of October 1, 2011, will enter the Junior Division.

b. All entries between fifteen years of age and twenty-one years of age as of October 1, 2011, will enter the Senior Division.

All entries must be twenty-one years of age, or under to be eligible for the State Senior Division.

9. The age of the oldest member of an act determines the division it may enter.

10. A contestant may be involved in ONE ACT ONLY. A group may only compete ONCE. The director reserves the right to modify this rule based upon his judgment should Pre-existing groups have members that are in multiple organizations (i.e., Show Choir and Jazz Band, etc.)

11. A professional sound system and piano will be the only equipment furnished. Dance mats must be provided by the act needing them.

12. A contestant that is considered “PROFESSIONAL” shall not be eligible for this contest. “PROFESSIONAL is defined as anyone who is a talent union member, who has a professional manager, or whose principle and self-supporting income is derived from entertaining.

13. This is a talent competition. The judging will be determined by the amount of talent and performance quality of the contestant(s).

Judging sheets are not open to public review, and the decision of the judges is final.

It is acknowledged by the parties hereto that the Participant and all persons performing pursuant to this, contract do hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Christian County Fair Board, its agents and officers from any liability for injuries to the person, whether for bodily injury, sickness, mental anguish or death of the Participant or persons performing pursuant to this contract and as to claims for any damage to any of their property. The Participant and all persons performing pursuant to this contract hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Christian County Fair Board, its agents and officers from any liability to third parties arising out of the performance of this contract. By signing this contract, it is agreed that all Participants will adhere to all rules and accept the finality of the judges’ decision without challenge.

Lease for Exhibition Display Christian County Fair Held At The Christian County Fairgrounds, July 12-17, 2011 We The Lessor, Christian County Fair Association, have space for displays available.

In the Expo Building display area, each booth is 10’ x 12’ and the charge is listed below. This is a display area and should not be confused with the independent midway. The display fee must be paid before you will be allowed to set up your display.

CHARGES FOR THE WEEK ARE: Exhibitors Not For Profit - $50.00 / Exhibitors For Profit - $100.00 Expo Building is open for displays July 12-17, 2011. The hours will be 4:00 PM -10:00 PM on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. till 10:00 p.m. The expo building will be unlocked at 9:50 a.m.

Wednesday through Saturday and locked at each day’s respective closing time.

The Christian County Fair Board is unable to furnish you with curtains, tables, chairs, etc. Electricity is available at no charge. Booths must be set up prior to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12th. Booths can be taken down on Sunday morning, July 10 at 10 a.m.

It is mutually understood and agreed that: “Lessor shall not be liable for, nor insure the property placed in said building by the Lessee, but the Lessor shall maintain an adequate policy of public liability insurance for injury occasioned to persons while inside said building and not exhibiting in the building and sustaining injuries solely or partially from some defect or improper condition of said building, not occasioned or caused by Lessee or its personnel or properties”.

Lessee agrees to furnish Lessor evidence of public liability insurance for his own account and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Lessor from and against all liabilities for damages to person and property arising out of the action of the Lessee.
