Welcome! We are so excited for you to join us on our #LEGENDARY faith journey this summer! Come enjoy the horses, aquatic playground, Iceberg, 3-D archery range, climbing wall, high & low ropes courses and so many more things for all ages. Wesley Woods offers two types of programming in our summer schedule.
We are dedicated to sharing the Good News of a loving God and a Son that covered our sins. Campers will be encouraged to grow in their faith through testimonies, worship experiences, daily devotions and small group Bible studies. We believe individuals grow stronger in their faith as they worship, play, pray and live in Christian community. God has blessed us with beautiful facilities, dedicated staff and tremendous support from parents, pastors and congregations. Thank you for considering joining us for a summer camp or retreat experience.
Inpost campers stay in air-conditioned cabins or lodges on bunk beds. Inpost campers eat almost all meals in the dining hall. Outpost campers sleep in tipis, covered wagons, 1918 Sears and Roebuck house, pioneer log cabin and more. Outpost campers cook breakfast and supper daily over a campfire and go to the main camp for lunch. For more information on specific sites, you can find those at www.wesleywoodsiowa.org Whether an Inpost or Outpost camper, you will receive three meals and two delicious snacks daily. Camper fee includes a water bottle, group picture and horse ride (weight limit 240 lbs.) for kids seven and older. Participate daily in Bible study, theme days, swimming, games and more. Join us at Wesley Woods for an afternoon of fun, fellowship and food! You are invited to an “open house” for all ages. Take the chance to try out our zip line, climbing wall, archery course, fishing ponds, swimming pool, horse rides, carnival games and the aquatic playground at Broken Arrow Pond. This is an exciting camp for youth who have a family member currently or formerly incarcerated. It is an awesome time of fun and fellowship with many exciting activities such as archery, swimming, horseback riding, fishing, rock climbing and more during our 3-day journey. It will also be a time for the camper to be able to share about their hopes and dreams for the future while also knowing Jesus more in their hearts. We have a limited amount of space available and we want to remind parents there are some scholarships available for those who have a need. Are you already involved in the Junior Staff Program at Wesley Woods? This weekend is for you! Come back to Wesley Woods to renew your training and to learn about changes this summer. You will help with work projects and have some time to hang out with Jr. Staffers you worked with in previous summers. We will seek what it means to find #legendary faith through worship and Bible study and work to grow more tools for ministry this summer. Do you love the outdoors & working with kids as you share God’s love? Consider this training and join our Jr. Staff program to learn how to fill roles in the main camp area and help with outpost camping as well. Trainees will stay outpost in tents half the week, canoeing back and forth to their site. Skill development will be focused on safe cooking, fire-building, leading Bible study and more. Campers will be evaluated during the week for later placement. Part of the week will be spent with Exceptional Persons camp as a ‘buddy’. This training is aimed at first-timers wanting to serve in support roles in the main camp, including crafts, games, food service and being an assistant counselor in a group. We will learn about the Ranch programs and procedures, how to teach horse science lessons and emergency protocol. Being a wrangler helper is NOT a substitute for a week as a camper! Wrangler helpers work hard and have fun as they serve.
