TERMS & CONDITIONS: This sale is being conducted under the suggested sale terms and conditions adopted by the American Angus Association effective February 8, 2009. Except for those stated in the terms and conditions, there are no warranties, either expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose with respect to the cattle being sold in this auction. IDENTIFICATION OF CATTLE: Ear tags on all sale cattle will correspond to the lot numbers in the sale catalog.

INSPECTION OF CATTLE: Cattle will be available for viewing at the sale site, October 28th. Prior to that at each respective ranch.

DELIVERY: Delivery is guaranteed not to exceed $400 per lot in the continental United States if arrangements are made through the sale management.

HEALTH: Health papers will be in order, however any cattle that may sell to any area, state or country that require any additional or special tests, their tests would need to be done prior to shipment. All females over six months of age are official calfhood vaccinates. Females selling bred over 90 days will be pregnancy examined within 30 days of the sale.

AM-NH-CA STATUS: All Angus cattle selling are FREE of AM, CA and NH by pedigree or test.

TRANSPORTATION: Most major airlines serve Sacramento. We will be happy to provide transportation to and from the sale site to the Sacramento Airport. Private planes will be met at Elk Grove, Rancho Murrieta or Lodi Airports. Call us in advance to make transportation arrangements.

LIVESTOCK MORTALITY INSURANCE: Mortality Insurance on your purchases can be obtained from the sale management through American Live Stock Insurance Co. at time of settlement.

FOOD & DRINKS: A complimentary lunch will be available sale day along with an array of drinks and goodies.

Welcome to the fourth annual Red Carpet Event!

It is always such an exciting time for us. We love watching how all our breeding decisions come together as these heifers develop and we gear up for the show season.

We have had one of the driest years on record here on the high desert, we are most proud of the fact our cows have withstood the environment as we have bred them to do.

We do not creep, we run our cows as “real cows” in a commercial setting on the desert and each year they bring in these fancy heifers. We do very little advertising, letting our cattle do the talking. We are consistently raising cattle that have been very successful from the show ring to the donor pen and out in the commercial world! Because of our very rural location we do very limited ET work and we are excited to offer some of the best genetics we have ever offered! This set of heifers is straight off the top end with each and every one of them backed by a very solid cow. We have worked hard to stack cow families, use great bulls, cull hard and make sure all our females have great udders with good milk flow, are sound, functional, but are still pretty to look at! Dear Fellow Breeders,

Welcome to the 4th Red Carpet Event! This year’s event promises to be better than ever, the Brumley Family has brought a stellar group of Hereford females and our offering may be the best yet.

2012 has been a year of change and bulls here at Pheasant Trek. Our entire 2012 calf crop were bull calves with the exception of three heifers that are selling in this year’s event. You’ll note that sometimes when you get three with the quality and eye appeal that these girls bring to the table that, may be all you need. The change started this spring when we realized that we had outgrown our original plan to keep our cowherd small and maintain a high degree of quality, it was time to step back, restructure and pare the numbers down so that we could not only continue to keep the quality at an all-time high, but continue to have the time to devote to our customer base.

Our passion remains strong to help the juniors who purchase our cattle succeed at every level that this great breed offers. We’re very excited to be handing out a record number of scholarship checks this year and we are so proud of the juniors that have had our heifers in their hands. Each of you has done an astounding job feeding, fitting, and showing them. We look forward to watching them produce calves for you that will also go out and compete.

Our offering may be one of the smallest we’ve had to date, but I can assure you that it may be one of the most complete. The genetics are there and each and everyone in this year’s offering relates straight back to that small group of great cows that we began this cowherd with. The strength of the genetics from that small group of cows is what we intend to stay with as we proceed forward. They are a group of cows that produced National Champions, record selling bulls and females, and kept us on the top ten list of ROV Breeders of the Year for many years even when we made it to only a couple of shows a year. That is the strength of the genetics selling.

The Red Carpet Event is about incredible Hereford and Angus cattle, but it is about something else as well; It’s about fellowship, laughter and spending some pleasurable time in each other’s company. This year we’re changing it up a bit, the offering will be on line beginning October 24th on LiveAuctions and on sale day October 28th at 4:00 pm we will have a live auction to close out the lots. Following the sale the feast and festivities begin, this year we will have the some of the best tasting smoked brisket brought to you
