We are about to close 2025, a year in which Liguria has confirmed its position as a leading region for the Blue Economy. These considerations are based on objective data, which reinforce our conviction in supporting this strategic sector.

The sea is everything to Liguria, of course. But it is not enough to be surrounded by the sea to be able to say that we know how to exploit its potential and, above all, respect its value, preserving it for future generations. Liguria alone contributes 13% of the GDP of the entire national Blue Economy, but above all, sea-related activities provide 14.4% of total jobs in the entire region, double the percentage recorded in Lazio, for example, which is the second region in terms of employment linked to this strategic sector.

We are the leading Italian district in terms of recreational boating and, in particular, shipbuilding related to large yachts.

Our ports are showing positive signs.

Our task, at an institutional level, is certainly to facilitate this growth.

Liguria is racing to adapt its infrastructure to the demands of the business world and the market. The new dam at the port of Genoa is probably the most important and well-known investment, but this year we celebrated the quadrupling of the Genoa railway junction, the start of other strategic construction projects, and the progress of the Terzo Valico.

Liguria is strategic due to its geographical position and, together with the north-western regions of Piedmont and Lombardy, is engaged in a joint effort to facilitate the movement of people and goods in ever shorter times and with systems that also guarantee attention to environmental sustainability.

The sea is undoubtedly an important element for the tourist economy, which we have learned to develop thanks to the riches of the hinterland and our traditions. Positive data should never lead us to consider our objectives achieved, but rather to raise the bar ever higher. Liguria, with its unique territory, can truly become the ideal region in which to live.

This is the first of all the objectives to be achieved.

Ci apprestiamo a chiudere un 2025 in cui la Liguria si è confermata regione leader per la Blue Economy. Sono considerazioni che arrivano da dati oggettivi, che confortano la convinzione con cui si è scelto di sostenere un settore strategico.

Il mare è tutto per la Liguria, certo. Ma non basta essere bagnati dal mare per poter dire di saperne sfruttare le potenzialità e soprattutto di rispettarne il valore, conservandolo anche per le future generazioni. Da sola, la Liguria contribuisce al 13% del Pil dell’intera Blue Economy nazionale, ma soprattutto le attività legate al mare offrono il 14,4% dei posti di lavoro complessivi dell’intero territorio, una percentuale doppia rispetto a quella che si registra ad esempio nel Lazio, che è la seconda regione per incidenza dell’occupazione legata a questo settore strategico. Siamo il primo distretto italiano per quanto riguarda la nautica da diporto e in particolare per la cantieristica legata ai grandi yacht. I nostri porti regalano segnali positivi.

Il compito che abbiamo, a livello istituzionale, è certamente quello di facilitare questa crescita. La Liguria sta correndo per adeguare le proprie infrastrutture alle richieste che arrivano dal mondo dell’imprenditoria, dal mercato. La nuova diga del porto di Genova è probabilmente l’investimento più importante e noto a tutti, ma quest’anno abbiamo festeggiato il quadruplicamento del nodo ferroviario di Genova, l’avvio di altri cantieri strategici, l’avanzamento del Terzo Valico.

La Liguria è strategica per la propria posizione geografica e, con le Regioni del Nord Ovest, Piemonte e Lombardia, è in corso un’azione comune per agevolare lo spostamento di persone e merci con tempi sempre più brevi e con sistemi che garantiscono anche un’attenzione alla sostenibilità ambientale.

Il mare è senza dubbio un elemento importante anche per l’economia turistica che tuttavia abbiamo imparato a sviluppare anche grazie alle ricchezze dell’entroterra e delle nostre tradizioni. I dati positivi non ci devono mai indurre a considerare raggiunti gli obiettivi, ma semmai a spostare sempre più in alto l’asticella.

La Liguria, con il suo territorio unico, può davvero diventare la regione ideale in cui vivere.

Questo è il primo tra tutti gli obiettivi da raggiungere.

With its 234 towns, its smile shaped by light and wind, its ability to transform every day into a better day. Because a day without a smile… is not truly a day lived.

Here, there is everything: the sea, to be experienced in all its forms ‒ sailing, surfing, diving, snorkeling, kayaking ‒ and the land, equally rich and generous, with panoramic trails, ancient villages, trekking routes, mountain biking, climbing, natural parks, and protected marine areas. And then there are the monuments, the art, the piazzas, the churches, the fortresses, and the alleyways that tell centuries of history. A powerful history, marked by names known across the world: Giuseppe Garibaldi, Cristoforo Columbo, Goffredo Mameli, the Doria family, and the great houses that shaped decisive chapters of our identity. It is a history that lives every day in our cities and towns, accompanying those who walk these memory-filled streets.

Con i suoi 234 Comuni fra mare e monti, con il suo sorriso fatto di luce e vento, con la sua capacità di trasformare ogni giorno in un giorno migliore.

Perché una giornata senza un sorriso… non è davvero vita.

Qui c’è tutto: il mare, da vivere in ogni sua forma – vela, surf, immersioni, snorkeling, kayak – e la terra, altrettanto ricca e generosa, con sentieri panoramici, borghi antichi, percorsi di trekking, mountain bike, arrampicata, parchi naturali e aree marine protette.

The job of a mayor is grueling – it demands a body built for endurance. Having been an Olympic athlete, how do you stay in peak shape while running a city? « More than a powerhouse body, it takes a clear mind and nerves of steel. Of course, physical fitness helps too, because some days are endless and there’s never a real vacation. I exercise in the mornings at 6 on the treadmill, running my ten kilometers before the day begins».

Il lavoro di una sindaca è pesantissimo, ci vuole un fisico bestiale. Lei che è stata anche atleta olimpica come lo esercita?

“Più che un fisico bestiale, ci vogliono cervello lucido e nervi salvi. Certo, anche avere tenuta fisica aiuta perché sono giornate a volte interminabili e non c’è mai vacanza.

Il fisico lo esercito la mattina alle 6 sul tapis roulant, faccio i miei dieci chilometri e poi inizia la giornata”.

What are your favorite pastimes during moments of relaxation?

«There are very few moments of relaxation. I try to spend my free time with the people I love, starting with my son Eugenio».

Quali sono i suoi passatempo preferiti nei momenti di relax?

“I momenti di relax sono molto pochi. Cerco di passare il tempo libero con le persone che amo, a partire da mio figlio Eugenio”.

n pochi mesi da sindaca di Genova Silvia Salis si è imposta come la prima cittadina più ammirata d’Italia.

Questione (anche) di eleganza, di portamento, di capacità di bucare lo schermo nei talk di prima serata. E quello che tratteggia oggi in questa intervista è un ritratto che va oltre il dibattito e le schermaglie politiche, ma dove racconta il suo privato, la sua vita fuori dal palazzo.

Do you have any favorite spots in the city where you go to unwind?

«Near my home, in Quinto or Nervi, taking my son to the park. These are places where I can unwind a bit and get back to a more “normal” pace».

The same question for the province of Genoa. As metropolitan mayor, are there towns along the coast or inland where you feel at home?

«For a few years, I had a house in Pieve Ligure, during the early years of my relationship with my husband, and I have wonderful memories. When I was younger, my friends and I often gathered in Bogliasco, both during high school and university».

The first home you and Fausto got when Rome was still your base was in Pieve Ligure by the sea. And today you live in Murcarolo, in Quinto, facing the sea. What does the smell of salt air or the view of the sea in the morning mean to you?

«Being able to wake up to the sea is wonderful, a great privilege, and an image that immediately soothes you: seeing the sea in its natural strength gives you a huge boost to start the day».

Ha qualche luogo del cuore in città in cui va a rilassarsi?

“Vicino a casa mia, a Quinto o a Nervi, amo portare mio figlio al parco. Sono luoghi in cui riesco a staccare un po’ e a ritrovare un ritmo più “normale”.

La stessa domanda, ma per la provincia di Genova. Lei è anche sindaca metropolitana, ci sono paesi, della costa e dell’entroterra, in cui si sente “a casa”?

“Per qualche anno ho avuto una casa a Pieve Ligure, nei primi anni di fidanzamento con mio marito, e ho ottimi ricordi. Quando ero più giovane, invece, spesso con amici e compagni di liceo e università ci trovavamo a Bogliasco” La prima casa che lei e Fausto prendeste quando Roma era ancora la base, per l’appunto fu a Pieve Ligure sul mare. E anche oggi vivete a Murcarolo, a Quinto, davanti al mare. Cosa significa per lei il profumo di salsedine o la vista del mare al risveglio?

“Potersi svegliare sul mare è una cosa meravigliosa, un grande privilegio, un’immagine che rasserena immediatamente: vedere il mare, nella sua forza naturale, dà una grande carica per iniziare la giornata” Villa Gentile a Sturla è uno dei suoi luoghi del cuore. anche ai turisti? Possono essere un volano per Genova?

“Da atleta, posso dire che gli impianti sportivi, che siano grandi, medi o piccoli, sono una ricchezza immensa per la socialità e per il territorio. Investire su un impianto sportivo è investire in qualcosa che può funzionare per decine di anni, un progetto a lungo termine. Puntiamo molto sullo sport come attività quotidiana e avere aree ad accesso libero per tutti può rappresentare un’opportunità anche per turisti o per chi viene a Genova per lavoro, per godersi momenti di relax e per rendere la città più vivibile e accessibile a tutti”.

Da Ventimiglia a Luni, fino all’entroterra, ci sono posti della Liguria che consiglia ai suoi amici?

“Recentemente sono stata a Santo Stefano d’Aveto ed è un posto meraviglioso, con potenzialità enormi per le famiglie e per praticare sport. È anche la nostra stazione sciistica, un posto che consiglierei. Poi, ci sono angoli di riviera molto vicini a noi, come Bogliasco o Vesima, e paesi dell’entroterra ricchi di prodotti locali, come Sant’Olcese”.

From Ventimiglia to Luni, and inland, are there places in Liguria you would recommend to friends?

«Recently I visited Santo Stefano d’Aveto, a wonderful place with huge potential for families and sports. It is also our ski resort – a place I would recommend. Then there are charming corners of the Riviera close by, like Bogliasco or Vesima, as well as inland towns rich in local products, such as Sant’Olcese».

You participated in two Olympics. Are there sporting events you think could leave a mark on Genoa in the coming years?

«Genoa already hosts major international sporting

events in rugby, swimming, and water polo. These are opportunities we must seize year after year. Becoming a city that organizes and hosts major sports events is a goal that the administration, together with federations, the Olympic Committee, and local organizations, is committed to pursuing».

“Genova ospita già grandi eventi sportivi internazionali di rugby, nuoto, pallanuoto. Sono sfide che bisogna cogliere anno per anno. L’obiettivo di diventare una città organizzatrice e ospite di grandi eventi sportivi è qualcosa che l’amministrazione, insieme alle federazioni, al Comitato Olimpico e alle realtà del territorio deve portare avanti”.

Rocks or sand? What are your favorite beaches?

«A true Genoese at heart, I’ve always loved the rocky beaches. These days, with a two-year-old in tow, sandy shores are my go-to. Luckily, our coastline has the best of both».

Scogli o sabbia? Quali sono le sue spiagge preferite?

“Da genovese ho sempre preferito gli scogli. Ora, con un bambino di due anni, vado in spiaggia. La nostra costa, fortunatamente, sa offrire entrambe le soluzioni” Genova e la Liguria sono una città e una regione ideali per l’invecchiamento attivo, dove si vive benissimo. Ma possono anche essere una città e una regione per giovani?

“Hanno l’obbligo di esserlo e di diventarlo. Siamo la città con l’età media più alta d’Europa e se non riusciamo a diventare attrattivi per i giovani, facendo restare quelli che nascono qui e facendone arrivare altri da fuori, l’età media continuerà ad alzarsi.

Essere una città a misura di giovane non è solo una speranza, ma un obbligo”.

Genoa and Liguria are ideal for active aging, offering a high quality of life. But can they also be cities and a region for young people?

«They have a duty to be and to become attractive for young people. We are the city with the highest average age in Europe, and if we cannot retain the youth born here and attract others from outside, the average age will continue to rise. Designing a city for young people is not just a hope – it’s an obligation».

To experience all this, the best decision you can make is to visit one of its villages.

There are 36 Ligurian villages promoted by the Region through the initiative “A Sea of Villages”, 28 of which are part of The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy network.

Many also belong to the dynamic Orange Flag Towns Association, chaired by Fulvio Gazzola, offering some-

Per fare tutto questo, la decisione migliore che si possa prendere è quella di visitare uno dei suoi borghi. The province of Savona is rich in picturesque villages, from Toirano and Castelvecchio di Rocca Barbena – the latter being recognized as one of the most culturally interesting villages in Italy thanks to the FestivAlContrario. Nestled within the Beigua Regional Natural Park – acknowledged as a UNESCO Global Geopark – is Sassello. The Deiva Forest envelops the village in the silence of unspoiled nature, broken only by birdsong and the rustle of leaves. It can be easily explored via a four-hour circular hike suitable for families.

Partiamo dalla provincia di Savona, ricchissima di borghi, da Toirano a Castelvecchio di Rocca Barbena che, grazie al FestivAlContrario è stato proclamato fra i borghi più culturalmente interessanti d’Italia. E poi, inserito nel Parco Naturale Regionale del Beigua, riconosciuto come Geoparco Globale UNESCO, c’è Sassello. La foresta della Deiva fa sprofondare il borgo nel silenzio della natura incontaminata, interrotto solo dal cinguettio degli uccelli e dal fruscio delle foglie. Attraversarla è facile con un’escursione ad anello, adatta alle famiglie, della durata di quattro ore.

Sassello is also a capital of taste. Its main specialty is amaretti: small traditional almond cookies –made from both sweet and bitter almonds – whose aroma fills the narrow streets. Their origins date back to the 19th century, when Ligurian and Piedmontese farmers planted almond trees both for their beauty and for their valuable fruit. In addition, local restaurants offer dishes featuring mushrooms gathered from the park under strict regulations.

In the province of Imperia, behind Ventimiglia and nestled in the Nervia Valley, lies the village of Dolceacqua – perfect for those wishing to immerse themselves in a “medieval” silence. Dolceacqua is a true treasure chest of history, symbolized by the Doria Castle, dating back to the 12th century, which overlooks the settlement from above.

Besides the Dorias, the Grimaldi family is also tied to the village’s history. In 2023, the towns of Dolceacqua and Monaco entered into a twinning agreement to mark the 500th anniversary of the 1523 loyalty pact between the Grimaldi and Doria families. stay on the Ligurian Riviera in 1884, the French Impressionist master Claude Monet was captivated by the beauty of the arched Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge), which connects the upper district, known as Tèra, with the lower part of the village. This inspired his painting Le Château de Dolceacqua. In 2019, the artwork returned to the castle for the exhibition “Monet, return to the Riviera”, made possible through collaboration with the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris and the support of Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Dolceacqua is also a land of gastronomic excellence – from Taggiasca olives to Riviera Ligure DOP olive oil and the typical Rossese DOC red wine.

On the southern slopes of Mount Saccarello, at 700 meters above sea level, stands the village of Triora. Walking through its narrow alleys, one easily senses a mysterious and eerie silence: Triora guards a dark yet fascinating history. It was the site of one of the most famous witch trials in Italian history.

Between 1587 and 1589, during a famine caused by poor harvests, several local women –used as scapegoats – were accused of witchcraft and tortured.

Today, visitors can explore La Cabotina, a small neighborhood outside the walls where the accused women once lived. The village also houses the Ethnographic and Witchcraft Museum, which preserves copies of trial documents and traditional rural artifacts, including tools

Oltre a questo, nei ristoranti del borgo non sarà difficile imbattersi in piatti a base di funghi, raccolti nel Parco sotto stretta regolamentazione.

In provincia di Imperia, alle spalle di Ventimiglia, incastonato nella Val Nervia, troviamo il borgo di Dolceacqua, perfetto per chi vuole immergersi in un silenzio “medioevale”.

Dolceacqua rappresenta un vero e proprio scrigno di storia, il cui simbolo è il Castello dei Doria, risalente al XII secolo, che domina sull’abitato dalle alture.

Oltre ai Doria, anche la famiglia Grimaldi è legata alla tradizione del borgo, tanto che nel 2023 i comuni di Dolceacqua e Monaco hanno siglato un gemellaggio ufficiale in occasione del cinquecentenario del patto di fedeltà del 1523 siglato con i Doria. Inoltre, all’interno del Castello, una sala multimediale è dedicata a raccontare gli intrighi politici e le relazioni tra le due famiglie.

Dolceacqua è legata anche al mondo dell’arte: Claude Monet, pittore francese caposcuola dell’impressionismo, durante un suo soggiorno nel Ponente nel 1884, venne rapito dalla bellezza del Ponte Vecchio a schiena d’asino, che unisce la parte alta, detta Tèra, con quella bassa del borgo. Nacque così il dipinto “Le Château de Dolceacqua”. Nel 2019 al Castello arrivò il quadro per il progetto “Monet, ritorno in Riviera”, reso possibile dalla collaborazione con il Musée Marmottan Monet di Pa-

Vara, stands Brugnato. Its silence is sacred and spiritual, shaped by its long religious history. The village developed around the Abbey of San Colombano (7th-8th century) and grew so important that Pope Innocent II elevated it to a diocese in 1133. Thanks to its strategic location connecting Genoa, Lunigiana, and the Po Valley, Brugnato became a vital commercial hub.

Its religious past can still be felt in the Co-Cathedral of Saints Peter, Lawrence, and Columbanus –symbol of the village – and in the adjacent Episcopal Palace, home to the Diocesan Museum.

Brugnato is also known for its distinctive “pincer” shape: the colorful houses cluster tightly around the cathedral for defensive purposes, giving the town its unique structure.

On Corpus Christi Day in June, Brugnato turns into a vivid open-air artwork, as residents create long floral carpets to decorate the streets – using petals, colored sawdust, coffee, and salt.

In short, Liguria’s villages are true treasures of tradition and culture worth protecting.

Camminando per i suoi vicoli è facile calarsi in un silenzio misterioso e cupo: infatti Triora custodisce una storia oscura e affascinante. Ospitò uno dei più noti processi alle streghe della storia italiana. I fatti risalgono al 15871589 quando, durante un periodo di carestia dovuta a cattivi raccolti, alcune donne del luogo, prese come capro espiatorio, furono accusate di stregoneria e sottoposte alla tortura.

Oggi a Triora è possibile visitare la Cabotina, un piccolo quartiere periferico oltre alle mura, dove vivevano le donne accusate di stregoneria.

Inoltre il borgo ospita anche il Museo Etnografico e della Stregoneria che, oltre alle copie dei documenti dei processi già citati, raccoglie molti oggetti antichi tipici della tradizione contadina e pastorale, come gli utensili utilizzati per la produzione del tipico pane di Triora.

E’ un’ottima idea visitare Triora la domenica dopo Ferragosto, durante la festa Strigòra, giornata in cui si tengono spettacoli e animazioni con le streghe e viene allestito un mercato di stampo medioevale.

sorge Brugnato. A caratterizzarla è un silenzio sacro e religioso, dovuto alla sua storia di fede. Il borgo si sviluppò intorno all’abbazia di San Colombano del VII-VII secolo, fino ad assumere un’importanza tale da essere elevata a dignità di diocesi da Papa Innocenzo II nel 1133.

Brugnato assunse subito rilievo strategico per la sua posizione di snodo commerciale tra Genova, la Lunigiana e la pianura padana. La sua storia ecclesiastica si può respirare visitando la Concattedrale dei Santi Pietro, Lorenzo e Colombano, simbolo del borgo, con l’adiacente Palazzo Vescovile che ospita il Museo Diocesano.

Brugnato è nota anche per la sua caratteristica forma a tenaglia: le case dalle facciate colorate si stringono attorno alla cattedrale con scopi difensivi, dando al borgo questa tipica struttura.

Nel giorno del Corpus Domini, celebrato a giugno, Brugnato si trasforma in un quadro colorato a cielo aperto, con i cittadini che realizzano lunghi tappeti floreali per decorare le vie. Oltre a petali di fiori, vengono utilizzati altri materiali naturali come segatura colorata, caffè e sale.

Insomma, i borghi della Liguria sono un vero tesoro di tradizione e cultura da proteggere.

Ma, soprattutto, sono “vivi”, tanto che la giunta regionale ha approvato un piano di sostegno economico dedicato a chi lavora nei piccoli Comuni dell’entroterra, perché – come spiegano il presidente della Regione Marco Bucci e il consigliere delegato allo Sviluppo Economico Alessio Piana – i negozi, le attività, le aziende sono l’assicurazione sulla vita dei borghi.

hen you think of Liguria and its geography, golf courses might not be the first thing that comes to mind. Typically, one imagines golf set against rolling hills with plenty of open space – quite the opposite of the Ligurian landscape, where mountains and sea are almost side by side.

Yet, thanks to its unique terrain and the continual effort to adapt to it – much like its inhabitants –Liguria offers a singular and inimitable combination of steep hills and breathtaking sea views, even on the golf course.

Among the first to benefit from this distinctive character are the numerous golf courses scattered across the region.

It is precisely the ability to work with the terrain rather than against it that allows these courses to become open-air feats of natural and landscape engineering.

ensando alla Liguria e alla sua morfologia, forse, non è immediato associarla ai campi da golf.

Infatti essi richiedono, nella visione comune, un paesaggio collinare e ondulato, con vasti spazi a disposizione. Insomma, non il classico paesaggio ligure, dove mare e monti sono vicinissimi.

Invece, proprio per merito del territorio unico e dello sforzo continuo di adattarsi ad esso, come gli abitanti liguri, anche sui campi da golf si crea un connubio unico e inimitabile tra la verticalità dei colli e la presenza scenica del mare.

Varied in both location and technical design, Liguria’s golf courses cater to all types of players and enthusiasts. Excluding, with some regret, the widely spread mini-golf venues, especially popular in holiday towns, the region boasts a treasure of ten unique golf clubs and driving ranges.

It is worth noting that when we talk about a “club”, we are referring not just to the sport – clubs, balls, and 18 holes – but to the entire facility that makes playing possible.

These are small earthly paradises for enthusiasts, encompassing not just the courses but also the clubhouses and communal spaces.

E non è un caso se l’affluenza e l’interesse per questo sport in Liguria crescono di anno in anno, richiamando un turismo di qualità e sempre più numeroso.

Numerosi e variegati per posizione e caratteristiche tecniche in grado di soddisfare i vari tipi di gioco e appassionati, i campi da golf toccano tutta le provincie della regione. E poi i campi pratica in città a Genova: le nove buche del “Garden Club” di viale Jenner ad Albaro e il CUS Genova Golf, il settore golfistico del Centro Universitario Sportivo, che si trova in via degli Anemoni a Quarto Alto, da dove la vista domina su tutta la città.

E poi il Circolo Gof e Tennis a Rapallo, uno dei circoli più antichi e prestigiosi d'Italia, situato nel cuore della città, comodissimo da raggiungere dall’uscita dell’autostrada, per concludere, con il circolo più a levante: il Golf Club Marigola di Lerici, a un passo dalla Spezia, un gioiello immerso nella poesia del Golfo dei Poeti che unisce il verde del “green”, per l’appunto, al blu del mare.

Insomma, si capisce perché nel 2025 in cui la Liguria è stata “Regione Europea dello sport”, il golf e i suoi campi dall’estremo ponente al confine della Toscana hanno avuto un ruolo da protagonista. Nessun luogo al mondo offre la possibilità di affrontare le diciotto buche con un panorama mozzafiato di questo tipo.

E bisogna fare solo attenzione a non far finire la pallina in mare. Un piccolo rischio se confrontato al Paradiso della Liguria.

Fu il modenese Zeffirino Belloni, nel 1939, a dare vita a quella che sarebbe diventata una leggenda nel cuore di Genova, accanto al Ponte Monumentale, nel palazzo che un tempo ospitava il Teatro Margherita. Da lì nacque il mito: un luogo elegante e accogliente, dove la cucina ligure incontrava l’estro emiliano in una fusione perfetta.

Oggi la famiglia Zeffirino, nome con cui viene ormai identificata, è giunta alla quinta generazione e vede il passaggio di consegne ai nipoti: Marco, che ricopre il ruolo di manager, coadiuvato da Paola, Sabrina e Lucia, che proseguono il percorso tracciato dal nonno Zeffirino nella gestione del ristorante di famiglia.

Cipollino Verde marble, boiserie, Pierre Frey fabrics, and a lemon-filled patio evoke a sensual, enchanting Italy where time seems to slow down to make room for taste. Then Istanbul: overlooking the Bosphorus, Zeffirino has added a new chapter to its journey, bringing the most authentic Italian culinary tradition to a city poised between East and West.

Here, amid the scent of the sea and the city lights, the restaurant’s signature dishes take centre stage: “Paffutelli alla Frank,” stuffed pasta with pesto and cream dedicated to the legendary Italian-American singer; “White and Black Fagottini,” created in honour of Pope John Paul II; and “Mandilli de sea,” the iconic green, silk-smooth Ligurian lasagnette.

here is a subtle thread running through the Ligurian landscape: an embroidery of vineyards climbing the hillsides, binding stone to sea. When the sun grazes them, light slides along the rows of vines and ancient stories awaken within the clusters.

It is then that Liguria reveals its vertical soul: every bunch is an achievement, every harvest renews the bond with the land.

The steep terraces and lean soils have given rise to a heroic viticulture ‒ so defined by CERVIM, the centre that safeguards mountain and high-slope agriculture ‒ practiced on precipitous hillsides where each vine grows thanks to patient, entirely manual labour.

Quando il sole li sfiora, la luce scivola sui filari e nei grappoli si risveglia una storia antica. From one end of the Riviera to the other, Liguria reveals itself as a mosaic of hills and stone terraces gently tumbling toward the sea.

In the Colli di Luni, where the plains meet the first ripples of the Apennines, Vermentino sways in the wind like a golden carpet. Praised by Pliny the Elder for its elegance ‒ white wines were already produced here in Roman times ‒ this wine still carries its maritime imprint, with notes of citrus and Mediterranean herbs.

Moving westward, the landscape grows steeper and the vines fasten themselves to breath-stealing slopes. In the Cinque Terre, the land turns into a succession of terraces suspended above the blue: here, where even today only the monorail train can pass, the Bosco and Albarola grapes ripen at dizzying heights, giving life to Cinque Terre DOC and the precious Sciacchetrà. Beloved by poets and travellers, this celebrated passito wine owes its name to the late nineteenth century, when the Macchiaiolo painter Telemaco Signorini, fascinated by Riomaggiore and its landscapes, described in his diary the ritual of the sciaccatras, the ancient sun-drying of the grapes.

Da Levante a Ponente, la Liguria è un mosaico di colline e terrazze che scendono verso il mare.

Nei Colli di Luni, là dove la piana incontra le prime ondulazioni dell’Appennino, il Vermentino ondeggia al vento come un tappeto dorato. Lodato da Plinio il Vecchio per la sua eleganza – in quest’area si producevano vini bianchi già in epoca romana – questo vino conserva ancora oggi la sua impronta marina, fatta di agrumi ed erbe mediterranee.

Procedendo verso ovest, il paesaggio diventa più ripido e la vite inizia ad arrampicarsi su versanti che sfidano il respiro. Nelle Cinque Terre, il terreno si trasforma in gradoni sospesi sul blu: qui, dove ancora oggi solo il treno monorotaia riesce a passare, i grappoli di Bosco e Albarola maturano ad altezze vertiginose, dando vita al Cinque Terre DOC e al prezioso Sciacchetrà.

Amato da poeti e viaggiatori, il celebre vino passito deve il suo nome alla fine dell’Ottocento, quando il pittore macchiaiolo Telemaco Signorini, affascinato da Riomaggiore e dai suoi paesaggi, descrisse nel suo diario il rito dello “sciaccatras”, l’antico appassimento dei grappoli al sole.

Avvicinandosi a Genova, le colline si addolciscono e il paesaggio si frammenta in orti, uliveti e giardini sospesi. Tra i borghi addossati ai pendii, piccole cantine dal profumo di legno e mosto custodiscono la Bianchetta Genovese, bianco fresco e agrumato, e il Ciliegiolo, un rosso leggero dal profumo di ciliegia.

Superata Savona, la costa diventa più ampia e soleggiata, terra del Pigato, vitigno giunto in Liguria nel Seicento dopo un lungo viaggio dal Mediterraneo orientale. Il suo nome “pigau” rimanda alle piccole macchie ambrate che punteggiano gli acini maturi, espressione di un vino pieno e solare, minerale e avvolgente, dal finale che ricorda la mandorla e la frutta gialla.

Infine, quando il mare lascia spazio alle valli dell’entroterra, le vigne tornano a stringersi alla

Among the villages clinging to the slopes, small cellars scented with wood and must safeguard Bianchetta Genovese, a fresh, citrus-driven white, and Ciliegiolo, a light red with notes of cherry.

Beyond Savona, the coastline opens up and basks in sunlight, becoming the homeland of Pigato — a grape that reached Liguria in the seventeenth century after a long journey from the eastern Mediterranean. Its name, pigau, alludes to the tiny amber freckles on the ripe berries, the signature of a wine both full and radiant, mineral and enveloping, with a finish that recalls almond and ripe yellow fruit.

Finally, as the sea gives way to the inland valleys, the vineyards once again cling to the mountains. Around Dolceacqua, where the mild climate caresses the rows, grows Rossese, a red fragrant with roses and spices, once loved by the Doria and Grimaldi families. Higher still, among the woods of Pornassio, Ormeasco grows in

montagna. Nei dintorni di Dolceacqua, dove il clima mite accarezza i filari, cresce il Rossese, rosso profumato di rose e spezie, un tempo amato dai Doria e dai Grimaldi. Ancora più in alto, tra i boschi di Pornassio, l’Ormeasco cresce in suoli freddi e pietrosi, dando vita a vini corposi e dal carattere deciso, frutto di una viticoltura paziente e tenace.

Oggi, il sapere tramandato nelle mani di chi coltiva la vite non è soltanto tradizione, ma un patrimonio tutelato. Dal 2023, la Regione Liguria ha riconosciuto la viticoltura eroica come simbolo di un paesaggio che sfida la gravità e che riflette il dialogo costante tra l’uomo e la natura.

cold, stony soils, producing full-bodied wines with a firm character ‒ the result of patient and tenacious viticulture.

Today, the knowledge passed down through the hands of those who cultivate the vine is more than tradition; it is a protected heritage. Since 2023, the Liguria Region has recognized heroic viticulture as a symbol of a landscape that defies gravity and reflects the constant dialogue between humans and nature.

Through grants for vineyard restoration and conversion, the regional administration supports those who keep viticulture alive in these challenging lands, enhancing both landscape stewardship and the traditions that shape it. This commitment has strengthened eight DOC denominations and four IGTs, contributing to an annual production of around 46,000 hectoliters ‒ an expression of an activity where excellence and territory merge into a single identity.

Attraverso bandi per la ristrutturazione e la riconversione dei vigneti, l’amministrazione sostiene chi mantiene viva la viticoltura in queste terre difficili, valorizzando la cura del paesaggio e la tradizione che lo plasma. Un impegno che ha favorito il consolidamento di otto denominazioni DOC e quattro IGT, per una produzione complessiva di circa 46mila ettolitri l’anno, espressione di un’attività in cui eccellenza e territorio si fondono in un’unica identità.

hen one thinks of Liguria, bicycles, bike paths, and cycling routes may not be the first things that come to mind. Indeed, the narrow strip of land squeezed between mountains and the sea might seem to offer limited opportunities for cyclists. Yet, on closer inspection, the region reveals numerous advantages for cycling enthusiasts.

First and foremost is the diversity of landscapes, allowing riders to travel just a few kilometers from the coastal breeze to the untouched nature of the inland hills.

Infatti, la morfologia della sottile striscia di terra stretta tra mare e monti, sembrerebbe non offrire grandi opportunità ai ciclisti.

Ma, sotto uno sguardo più attento, è possibile cogliere i punti di forza che questo territorio offre agli amanti della bicicletta.

Cycling in Liguria is further eased by its mild climate, unmatched elsewhere in Italy, which provides ideal conditions for a ride almost any time of year.

This passion for cycle tourism is now set to take a historic leap forward with the “Liguria of the Rings” project.

Funded with three million euros by the Ministry of Tourism, the initiative aims to enhance the Ligurian territory and strengthen its cycling and outdoor tourism offerings. Work is scheduled to begin in early 2026 and will cover approximately 400 kilometers of provincial and gravel roads, including upgrades, rest areas, signage, and twenty e-bike charging stations.

Four main routes will be developed. The first is the Genoa coastal-to-inland loop, which starts from Genova Righi and, passing through Casella, Montoggio, Torriglia, Gattorna, and Carasco, follows the Entella river to Lavagna. What makes this route unique is its intermodal nature: it is not just a bike path but also incorporates the Zecca-Righi funicular and, for a portion of the journey, the historic Casella Train.

Next is the Alta Valle Argentina loop, perfect for exploring Liguria’s most authentic villages, such as Dolceacqua, Pigna, Molini di Triora, and Taggia, finishing with a descent to Riva Ligure.

For the most experienced cyclists, the Melogno loop in the province of Savona offers a captivating blend of seaside and medieval mountain landscapes. Starting from the coast in Loano, the route winds inland through Castelvecchio di Rocca Barbena, Bardineto, Calizzano, and Calice Ligure, before returning to the sea at Finale Ligure.

Finally, the San Romolo loop is perfect for those seeking high-altitude air and the serenity of mountain pastures.

The route begins in Sanremo and climbs to Colle Melosa, rising above 1,500 meters, where it connects with the historic Via del Sale.

This project goes beyond the construction and restoration of bike paths; it aims to promote slow, mindful tourism, extending the tourist season and encouraging

Il primo è l’anello mare-entroterra dell’area genovese, che parte da Genova Righi e arriva, fiancheggiando il fiume Entella, a Lavagna, passando per Casella, Montoggio, Torriglia, Gattorna e Carasco. A rendere unico questo itinerario, che unisce la costa alle vallate dell’entroterra, è la sua natura di mobilità intermodale: infatti non è solo ciclabile, ma sfrutta anche la funicolare Zecca-Righi e, per un tratto, lo storico Trenino di Casella.

Infine l’anello di San Romolo, per chi vuole respirare l’aria di alta montagna e trovarsi a contatto con i pascoli. Il percorso parte da Sanremo e sale fino al Colle Melosa a più di 1500 metri di altitudine, dal quale ci si innesta sulla storica Via del Sale.

Questo progetto non si riduce a un mero piano di costruzione e predisposizione di attrezzature di piste ciclabili, ma tende a incentivare un turismo più lento e rispettoso, destagionalizzando i flussi turistici e distribuendoli tra costa ed entroterra nell’arco di tutto l’anno, grazie al favore del clima ligure.

Anche dal punto di vista ambientale, il cicloturismo – amatissimo dai turisti stranieri, soprattutto nordici - che tiene conto anche delle e-bike, rappresenta una forma

E poi tornerà “Fantozzi”, opera tragicomica – anche in questo caso con la regia di Davide Livermore – tratta dai primi due libri di Paolo Villaggio con Gianni Fantoni protagonista che viene, a grande richiesta, riproposto. C’è poi nuovamente Tullio Solenghi in versione clone di Gilberto Govi. Dopo gli strepitosi successi de "I manezzi" e "Pignasecca", tocca a “Colpi di timone”, coprodotto dal Teatro Nazionale insieme al Teatro Sociale di Camogli, che è un nuovo omaggio alla tradizione della commedia ligure, al teatro e alla maschera di Gilberto Govi, interpretato da Tullio Solenghi, con a fianco un grande Mauro Pirovano.

From this image comes the metaphor of the Navigators: the artists who question the boundaries of interpretation, and the spectators who, throughout the season, encounter a series of evocative, imaginary landfalls.

It is an ambitious and stimulating path, conceived by superintendent Michele Galli and artistic director Federico Pupo, who have combined technical mastery with artistic imagination. They are the new duo at the helm – to extend the maritime metaphor – of the Carlo Felice.

The 2025-26 season program has received bipartisan approval; both the mayor and the regional governor praised it.

In short, a grand season – and great projects for the future. For Michele Galli, 63, from Cremona, who since April 23 has thrown himself into this adventure with enthusiasm and drive, restoring financial balance is now a key priority. Not by chance, his appeal was immediate and forceful: «Ensuring sustainable management is essential: we are last in State funding, and the potential downgrading of some opera foundations would inevitably result in reduced production, with all the consequences that entails. This is why we have reached out to the business community, as the Carlo Felice needs the support of the entire city to continue operating and to become a theatre that truly belongs to everyone. We trust the response will be positive».

The whole city hopes so as well. Having painstakingly regained its Opera House, destroyed by bombings during the war, Genoa could not bear to see it downgraded again.

Just as the artist always returned to Genoa, it is now his art’s turn to reemerge and return to the heart of the city’s cultural scene.

One can experience it fully, intact and complete, with all its colours and magic, and with the childlike sense of wonder that only children possess, at Casa Luzzati, located in the Palazzo Ducale, in the Cortile Maggiore, which has been the guardian and promoter of Emanuele Luzzati’s

stimone da/di custode e valorizzatore del patrimonio artistico di Emanuele Luzzati, raccogliendo il testimone dal Museo Luzzati a Porta Siberia, al Porto Antico.

E’ proprio qui, nel contesto dell'iniziativa “Genova e l’800” - promossa dal Comune di Genova e che sta facendo vivere e scoprire ai genovesi un periodo quasi sconosciuto della città, in tutte le sue declinazioni che Casa Luzzati propone la mostra “I sentieri dell’Ottocento”, che resta aperta fino al 24 maggio.

Esattamente come lo scorso anno, dedicato al Medioevo, ospitò la mostra sul “Medioevo fantastico” di Emanuele Luzzati.

La mostra fa dialogare, crea sentieri, intreccia grandi opere letterarie e musicali del XIX secolo (aggiungere famose sarebbe riduttivo) e le rispettive rivisitazioni del Maestro.

– are displayed through illustrations, cardboard models, theatrical and operatic costumes, video productions, sketches, and much more.

Above all, within the exhibition, one can “breathe” Luzzati – his poetics, his universe. Because Luzzati’s world is in-

Lo stile inimitabile firmato Luzzati, i suoi inconfondibili collage eclettici, come alla fine lo è Genova, sono esposti attraverso illustrazioni; cartonati; costumi di scena teatrali e lirici; videoproduzioni; bozzetti e tanto di più.

Soprattutto, all’interno della mostra si “respira” Luzzati, la sua poetica, il suo mondo. Perchè quello di Luzzati è un vero e proprio mondo. E ciò che è esposto fa entrare perfettamente in quel mondo, che illustra a modo suo i classici ottocenteschi.

It is easy to say that Luzzati’s reinterpretations are not plagiarism, but it is equally fair to say that his art is revolutionary, and this revolution lies in a radical shift in perspective.

Luzzati’s illustrations of The Betrothed represent a transformation compared to Francesco Gonin’s historical 1842 plates, which we are accustomed to seeing in school.

Both versions – Gonin’s and Luzzati’s – are displayed together in the first room, not to make a pointless comparison of tastes, but to allow two different perspectives on the same content to converse.

And it’s not just Manzoni’s classic that is represented.

There is also Collodi’s evergreen Pinocchio, accompanied by a display featuring hundreds of editions of the book, worthy of an exhibition on its own. The exhibition ranges from Tolstoy’s War and Peace and Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, to the operas of Rossini and Donizetti, Mirbeau, Grimm Brothers’ fairy tales, to Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland (with a spectacular giant depiction of Alice immersing the visitor into the story), and much more. In addition, various artists pay tribute to Lele’s greatness.

All of this is spread across the exhibition’s ten rooms.

cesco Gonin, che siamo stati abituati a conoscere a scuola. Entrambe le versioni, Gonin e Luzzati, sono esposte insieme nella prima sala, non per fare un inutile confronto tra gusti, ma per far dialogare due prospettive differenti dello stesso contenuto.

E non solo il bestseller manzoniano di tutti i licei viene rappresentato…

Ci sono anche il sempreverde Pinocchio di Collodi, corredato di una bancarella con centinaia di edizioni del libro che a sua volta meriterebbe una mostra a parte, passando per la Russia dal “Guerra e Pace” di Tostoj allo “Schiaccianoci” di Čajkovskij, alla lirica di Rossini e Donizetti e poi Mirbeau le fiabe dei fratelli Grimm, per arrivare all’”Alice nel Paese delle Meraviglie” di Lewis Caroll (straordinaria la gigantografia di Alice per far immergere il visitatore nella favola) e tanto altro con le testimonianze di vari artisti che rendono omaggio alla grandezza di Lele.

Located in the city center, with entrances from piazza De Ferrari or piazza Matteotti inside the Palazzo Ducale, Casa Luzzati invites visitors into a fairy-tale world, evoking a childlike sense of wonder even in adults and revealing its hidden pathways.

Pathways, or rather, shortcuts – certainly not immediately recognizable, but always leading to branch-ing roads where the 19th century meets Genoa through Maestro Luzzati, and Genoa rediscovers the 19th century.

And both the journey and the conclusion of these roads/shortcuts/pathways lead to something… truly magical.

Sentieri appunto, o meglio, scorciatoie. Certo non immediate da riconoscere, ma sempre scorciatoie verso altre strade ramificate, strade in cui l’Ottocento incontra Genova grazie al Maestro Luzzati, e Genova riscopre l’Ottocento.

E, sia il percorso, sia la conclusione di queste strade/scorciatoie/sentieri, beh, portano a un qualcosa che è magico.

There was a time when the port of Genoa was not merely a harbor for ships and merchants, but a true gateway to the wonderful world of fragrances. From the holds of vessels arrived spices, resins, and essences from the East and Africa: pepper and cinnamon, amber and myrrh, corals, saffron, and aromatic oils destined for European courts. In the 15th century, Genoese families wove business ties from Morocco to China, from the Flanders to the Tuat oasis – today Algeria – between the Mediterranean and the Sahara, trading gold, ostrich feathers, fine horses, and rare fragrances. The caravans crossing the desert carried exotic aromas that, once they reached the port of La Superba, mingled with the scent of the sea and of the timber of the ships. Thus, Genoa became an invisible capital of luxury: not only a crossroads of goods but a laboratory of sensibility. An international breath that went beyond economics to become culture, art, and language. Each spice told a story of a journey, each essence held the memory of an encounter.

Da allora, il gesto di profumarsi è rimasto un rituale personale, un modo per abitare il proprio corpo con consapevolezza e grazia. Emblematica è la figura di Caterina de’ Medici, che sposando Enrico II di Francia, portò con sé il suo profumiere di fiducia, Renato il Fiorentino, contribuendo a gettare le basi di quella che sarebbe diventata la grande tradizione profumiera francese.

Con l’Ottocento, la profumeria entra nella modernità, fondendo la poesia della natura con la precisione della scienza, l’arte con l’industria.

Nel 1889 Aimé Guerlain creò Jicky, il primo profumo a combinare ingredienti naturali e sintetici: una rivoluzione silenziosa, destinata a riscrivere il linguaggio olfattivo, aprendo la porta a un mondo in cui la fragranza poteva essere creata, replicata e condivisa.

ust reading the list of venues hosting Claudio Baglioni’s Gran Tour – Life Is Now is enough to understand that the word “dream” – always at the core of the Roman singer-songwriter’s poetry – is this time even more so as Baglioni has chosen dreamlike locations, the most iconic in our country.

Starting from his debut in Lampedusa, at the stadium just a step away from the Rabbit Beach – in the southernmost part of Italy, overlooking one of its most stunning seas – a place to which Baglioni, feels deeply connected to as Domenico Modugno once was.

And Genoa and Liguria are perfect places to give meaning the word “dream”.

That September 2025 concert was, in fact, only the preview of a 42-date tour through Italy’s most enchanting settings, kicking off on June 29, 2026, in St. Mark’s Square in Venice, as part of an event whose name says it all: The Festival of Beauty. From there, castles, historic squares, amphitheaters, the ruins of Pompeii, the Greek Theatre of Syracuse, the Ancient Theatre of Taormina, the Temples of Paestum, the Sferisterio in Macerata – all the way to the Royal Palace of Caserta. And in this lineup, of course, Genoa could not be missing, with the most evocative seaside stage in Italy: the Arena del Mare at the Porto Antico, where Baglioni will perform on the evening of July 8 under the national organization of Friends & Partners and the local support from Duemilagrandieventi, where Paola Donati carries on the legacy of Vincenzo Spera – once the heart and soul of Italy’s live music scene, the driving force behind Assoconcerti, and the embodiment of passion for live performance.

Quel concerto di settembre, infatti, è stato solo l’anteprima di un tour di 42 date negli scenari più suggestivi d’Italia, che partiranno il 29 giugno 2026 in piazza San Marco a Venezia, in occasione di una manifestazione che dice tutto già dal nome: Festival della Bellezza. In short, the image of Baglioni singing with the stars as his backdrop, while the last ferries of the evening to Bastia, Olbia, Porto Torres, and Palermo glide across the scene – the moonlight shimmering on the sea, gently rippling under the tugboats – is the stuff of dreams. The ship passengers, seemingly stepping onto the stage, just a few meters away, complete the magic.

Baglioni had already spoken about all this in Lampedusa, the first stop of this never-ending (attenzione correggere anche nell’italiano) tour through beauty: “A man who doesn’t dream is like a man who does not sweat.

He accumulates poison within himself. Today we say ‘He’s a dreamer’ with a tone of condescension, irony, sarcasm – even contempt – as if dreaming were an enemy, the opposite of reality, its denial.

And so, we end up ridiculing visionaries and idealists as deluded idlers, distancing ourselves from them and freeing ourselves of their fantasies”.

What will happen at the Porto Antico, instead, will be the very embodiment of that dream – because music, too, is a dream: “One of the most beautiful and enduring dreams ever dreamt by women and men. For it is, at once, the daughter and the mother of dreams. It is born from dreams and gives birth to dreams, in an endless crescendo that never ceases to move us”.

Baglioni quotes William Shakespeare: “We are such stuff as dreams are made on”. And he adds: “It doesn’t matter if they are big dreams. What matters is that they are big for us. We are dreamers – luckily for us”.

The idea of a seaside concert ties directly to the album La vita è adesso – Il sogno è sempre (Life is Now – The Dream is Always), which almost everyone has at home.

Released in 1985, it perfectly captured that era – the spirit of the 1980s – and remains, to this day, the best-selling album in Italian history, with four and a half million physical copies sold: vinyl, cassettes, and compact discs that

Insomma, l’idea di Baglioni che canta con le stelle come sfondo e gli ultimi traghetti della sera per Bastia, Olbia, Porto Torres e Palermo che sono fondali naturali del concerto, i riflessi della luna sul mare che quasi accarezzano le piccole onde increspate dai rimorchiatori, è un sogno, e i passeggeri delle navi che quasi sembrano “entrare” sul palco, a pochissimi metri, nient’altro che un sogno.

E Baglioni ha raccontato tutto questo già a Lampedusa, nella prima tappa di questo nerver-ending tour attraverso la bellezza: “Un uomo che non sogna è come un uomo che non suda. Accumula in sé riserve di veleno.

Oggi si dice "È un sognatore”, con la voce venata di sufficienza, ironia, sarcasmo. Persino disprezzo.

Come se il sogno fosse un nemico: il contrario della realtà. La sua negazione. E così si finisce col ridicolizzare i visionari, gli idealisti, come illusi e perdigiorno, si prendono le distanze da costoro e ci si libera dalle loro fantasie”.

Ecco, invece, quello che accadrà al Porto Antico sarà proprio la declinazione del sogno, perché anche la musica è sogno, “uno dei sogni più belli e più duraturi che donne e uomini abbiano mai sognato. Perché è, allo stesso tempo, figlia e madre di sogni. Nasce dai sogni e genera sogni, in un crescendo senza fine, che non smette mai di emozionare”.

L’idea del concerto in riva al mare è proprio quella dell’album “La vita è adesso, il sogno è sempre”, che quasi tutti noi abbiamo in casa, pubblicato nel 1985, e che ha fotografato alla perfezione quell’epoca e gli anni Ottanta, tanto da essere ancora oggi il disco più venduto di sempre nel nostro Paese, quattro milioni e mezzo di copie fisiche, fra vinili, musicassette e compact disc che si

affacciavano al mercato in quegli anni, ma anche di numero di settimane in classifica, con la permanenza in vetta per ventisette settimane consecutive e la presenza ininterrotta per oltre un anno nelle primissime posizioni della hit parade.

Per il concerto genovese e per questo tour, così come per la ristampa del disco, oltre ai dieci brani originali – fra cui “Un nuovo giorno o un giorno nuovo”, “Uomini persi”, “La vita è adesso”, “Amori in corso”, “E adesso la pubblicità” - si aggiunge l’inedito “Il sogno è sempre”, accompagnato sul disco con un'orchestra sinfonica e un coro lirico, “in un inno all’ideale, alla speranza, all’avvenire… Al sogno di una

For the Genoa concert and this tour, as well as for the reissue of the album, in addition to the ten original tracks – including Un nuovo giorno o un giorno nuovo, Uomini persi, La vita è adesso, Amori in corso and E adesso la pubblicità – there is also an unreleased song: Il sogno è sempre (The Dream Is Always), performed with a symphonic orchestra and a lyric choir. It is “an anthem to ideals, hope, and the future… to the dream of a life that may be, as much as possible, a dream life. Because if life is now, the dream must always be”.

The program manifesto for the seaside concert at the Porto Antico will be Notte di note, note di notte (Night of Notes, Notes of Night), the closing track of the 1985 album, which ends with these lines: “But what is it / That still makes me believe / It draws love down my eyes / And will lull me to sleep on the heart’s side”.

It’s what we love to do every night – the last thought before we sleep, and the first when we wake.

From the stadium to the Porto Antico, Genoa's music venues are a dream

or years, Genoa was cut off from major music tours, mainly due to the lack of suitable venues to host them. The last major events at the Ferraris stadium were Bruce Springsteen's concert in 1999, when his mother Adele Zerilli took to the stage set up under the North Stand and performed a duet with The Boss to the tune of a tarantella. Then it was Vasco Rossi's turn, again in 1999, and again in 2003, to sing at

coli dove possono passare solo dei camioncini, circostanza che di fatto da allora ha tagliato fuori Genova dai grandi tour internazionali e anche da quelli nazionali negli stadi.

Il 2026, invece, sarà l’anno del ritorno dei grandi concerti al Ferraris, grazie a Ops Eventi, la società di Alessandro Orlando, Luca Pietronave e Nicolò Sasso, e Magellano concerti che porteranno tre volte Olly al Ferraris con “Il gran finale”, evento che chiude “Tutti a casa”, il tour che ha consacrato il rapper e cantante genovese in un concerto-kolossal che va molto oltre la vittoria del Festival di Sanremo dello scorso anno con “Balorda nostalgia”.

Il concerto di Olly al Ferraris è stato una scommessa, perché una sola data non sarebbe stata sufficiente per coprire i costi, che lievitano per la necessità di “spezzare il carico” proprio per far passare l’enorme e scenografico impianto scenico dagli ingressi dello stadio di Marassi, trasbordandoli dai Tir agli automezzi più piccoli e maneggevoli e poter portare tutta l’attrezzatura sul prato.

La scommessa è stata vinta, anzi stravinta, visto che a pochi minuti dalla messa in vendita dei biglietti è stato registrato il tutto esaurito, tanto che è stata aggiunta una seconda data, il 20 giugno.

Ma, anche stavolta, è durata poco, visto che i biglietti si sono volatilizzati anche questa volta in poche ore. E quindi gli organizzatori hanno dovuto aggiungere il terzo bis, il 21 giugno, ma anche questa volta il concerto è a un passo dal sold out.

Insomma, la duplicazione e poi triplicazione delle date ha reso l’evento sostenibile economicamente, ma – al di là di questo aspetto - la vera notizia è il ritorno della grande musica al Ferraris, oltre al trionfo da profeta in casa di Olly, Federico Olivieri, ragazzo genovese della Foce, figlio di una

owned by Alessandro Orlando, Luca Pietronave and Nicolò Sasso, and Magellano Concerti, which will bring Olly to the Ferraris three times with “Il gran finale”, the event that closes “Tutti a casa”, the tour that consecrated the Genoese rapper and singer in a colossal concert that goes far beyond last year's victory at the Sanremo Festival with “Bastarda nostalgia”. Olly's concert at the Ferraris was a gamble, because a single date would not have been enough to cover the costs, which are rising due to the need to “break up the load” in order to get the enormous and spectacular stage equipment through the entrances of the Marassi stadium, transferring it from lorries to smaller, more manoeuvrable vehicles and bringing all the equipment onto the pitch. Ma, in questo derby della musica, un altro genovese – di Bogliasco, per la precisione e genoanissimo, tanto che la sua “Guasto d’amore” è diventata la canzone che apre tutte le partite del Genoa – Andrea Brasi, cioè Bresh sarà il primo luglio all’Arena del Mare del Porto Antico e la scelta del luogo non è casuale, perché la scenografia sarà una nave in partenza non per navigare nel mare, ma nell’immaginazione.

Anche in questo caso, la vendita dei biglietti della tappa genovese del “Mare Nostrum” tour è stata un trionfo e, a

And, less than 24 hours after sales opened, this date was also sold out, convincing the organisers to set a third date, with a new Bresh concert on 4 July. And in recent days, a fourth date has been added, on 5 July.

From the sea, on the sea and talking about the sea. This is explained in the director's notes for Andrea-Bresh's show, starting with the central choice of set design: a deconstructed ship.

And Genoa is absolutely central to Bresh's musical narrative: 'The whole show is a journey that starts in Genoa, but not the real one: a dreamlike, reinvented Genoa, seen through the eyes of a child who is still amazed by everything. It is the city of the sea, but also of dreams, memories and departures. In this vision, the stage is transformed into a mental harbour, a place of arrival and departure at the same time, where the audience is carried away by the flow of the wind, amid lights, sounds and images that merge with memory. The sails inflate and deOlly flate gently, as if driven by invisible winds. They are the breath of the show, a beat that accompanies the audience's journey. Where the story of the set design becomes a metaphor (also) for the city in a song of the Sirens, in which Genoa “floats on a dream, a vessel that carries emotions rather than people”. Because, from the Ferraris Stadium to the Old Port, even concerts and their venues are not just concerts and concert venues.

E Genova è assolutamente centrale nel racconto musicale di Bresh: “Tutto lo spettacolo è un viaggio che parte da Genova, ma non quella reale: una Genova onirica, reinventata, vista attraverso lo sguardo di un bambino che si stupisce ancora di tutto. È la città del mare, ma anche dei sogni, dei ricordi e delle partenze. In questa visione, il palco si trasforma in un porto mentale, un luogo di approdo e di partenza allo stesso tempo, dove il pubblico viene trasportato nel flusso del vento, tra luci, suoni e immagini che si confondono con la memoria. Le vele si gonfiano e si sgonfiano dolcemente, come sospinte da venti invisibili. Sono il respiro dello spettacolo, un battito che accompagna il viaggio del pubblico”.

Dove il racconto della scenografia diventa una metafora (anche) della città in un canto delle Sirene, in cui Genova “galleggia sul sogno, un vascello che trasporta emozioni, più che persone”. Perchè, dallo Stadio Ferraris al Porto Antico, nemmeno i concerti e i loro luoghi sono semplici concerti e semplici luoghi da concerto.

Genova lo fa.

Ancora oggi, in occasione di alcune date speciali, come la Giornata Nazionale delle Ferrovie delle Meraviglie del 18 Maggio, è possibile rivivere l’epoca d’oro di questa ferrovia a bordo di un treno storico della Fondazione FS Italiane, composto dalle affascinanti carrozze originali “Centoporte”, risalenti agli anni Trenta. Atmosfera retrò, ampi finestrini e interni in legno permettono di fare un vero e proprio viaggio nel tempo, amplificando la magia del percorso.

Tuttavia, il fascino di questa tratta non è riservato esclusivamente alle date speciali: la Ferrovia delle Meraviglie è infatti percorribile quotidianamente tutto l’anno con i treni regionali che collegano Ventimiglia a Cuneo, passando per il territorio francese e permettendo a chiunque di ammirare i capolavori ingegneristici e i panorami in ogni stagione.

A rendere così speciale questo percorso, lungo ben 96 chilometri, è l’armonia che si instaura tra la natura e le opere di ingegneria, necessarie per superare un dislivello di oltre 1000 metri, come le

However, the charm of this line is not limited to special events. The Railway of Wonders can be travelled daily throughout the year on regional trains that connect Ventimiglia to Cuneo, crossing into France and allowing everyone to admire both the feats of engineering and the stunning scenery in every season.

What makes this 96-kilometer route so special is the harmony between nature and engineering ‒ necessary to overcome a vertical drop of more than 1,000 meters. Four helical tunnels enable the train to climb within the mountains themselves.

The most spectacular of these, the Vernante tunnel, winds through the rock for about 1,500 meters, causing passengers to momentarily lose their sense of direction.

It is as if the Railway of Wonders serves as a bridge linking, in less than two hours, Ventimiglia ‒ with its palm trees and salty sea air ‒ to the rocky, silent, and in winter even snow-covered landscapes of the Alps. This transition takes place through two small municipalities in the province

Per tutte queste ragioni, negli ultimi anni la Ferrovia ha ottenuto diversi riconoscimenti fra cui la vittoria de “I Luoghi del Cuore” del FAI ed è stata inserita dalla rivista tedesca Hörzu tra le dieci linee ferroviarie più belle al mondo.

Spostandosi verso Levante, la costa ligure ospita un’altra icona della storia ferroviaria di lusso: si tratta del treno “La Dolce Vita Orient Express”. Contrariamente a quanto evocato dal nome, questa esperienza non ha nulla a che vedere con l’ambientazione anni Trenta delle vicende del detective Poirot.

On other occasions, the classic “Venice SimplonOrient-Express” ‒ the very same one from Poirot’s tales ‒ has also stopped in Alassio for a delightful technical pause before continuing toward the French Riviera and Paris, “taking advantage” of the San Gottardo closure to divert its route through Liguria.

Yet Liguria’s importance in the railway landscape does not end with the Cuneo-Ventimiglia line and its luxury stops. In the summer of 2025, the “Riviera Express” returned to the Ligurian tracks ‒ particularly through Genoa Piazza Principe and the stations of the western coast, connecting Rome to Marseille via Montecarlo, Nice, and Cannes.

ith the approval of the first three De.Co. – Municipal Designations of Origin – Pietra Ligure begins a process of promoting its food and wine excellence and Christmas traditions. De.Co., created

by Luigi “Gino” Veronelli, protects niche products linked to the history and identity of a territory.

The first “baked” concerns two symbolic recipes of Pietrasanta Christmas –pumpkin pie and Ranzi nougat – and an ancient ceremony of Genoese origin: Confuoco.

on l’approvazione delle prime tre De.Co. – Denominazioni Comunali di Origine – Pietra Ligure avvia un percorso di valorizzazione delle proprie eccellenze enogastronomiche e tradizioni natalizie. Le De.Co., ideate da Luigi “Gino” Veronelli, tutelano prodotti di nicchia legati alla storia e all’identità di un territorio.

La prima “infornata” riguarda due ricette simbolo del Natale pietrese – la torta di zucca e il torrone di Ranzi – e un’antica cerimonia di origine genovese: il Confuoco.

Sweet only on the surface surprising, it is part of the medieval tradition of Ligurian vegetable cakes. The pasta is the classic “crazy pasta”, while the filling includes boiled and wellsqueezed pumpkin, raisins, pine nuts and sugar. There are two versions: the more rustic Ranzi version, enriched with chickpea flour, and the more elegant Riviera version, with almonds, rum and Marsala.

The Confuoco, attested in Genoa since

the 14th century, was the end-of-year greeting between the people and the authorities of the Republic. The rite involved the lighting of a large laurel stump, the oïbȃ, from which auspices for the new year were drawn.

In Pietra Ligure the tradition has been documented since 1385 and was revived in 1978. Today the reenactment takes place on the Sunday before Christmas in Piazza Vecchia, as a symbol of dialogue, historical memory, and hope.

But waves suitable for windsurfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts can be found almost everywhere, from the far west to the east: in Ventimiglia and Sanremo, in particular, the waves generated in the bay are gentler and more suitable for beginners. The coastal area of the provincial capital Imperia, in Porto Maurizio and the Borgo area, also attracts surfing enthusiasts.

However, it is difficult to find areas that are not frequented by surfers and kitesurfers: the beaches of Alassio, Diano Marina, Pietra Ligure and Varazze are marked on the maps of enthusiasts from all over Europe (and in some cases the world). The beach at Recco, in the Golfo Paradiso, also attracts thousands of enthusiasts every year, who combine their passion for waves with their love of good food. Ma onde adatte agli appassionati di windsurf e kitesurf si trovano un po’ ovunque, dall’estremo ponente a Levante: a Ventimiglia e Sanremo, in particolare, l’onda che si genera nella baia è più dolce e adatta ai principianti. E anche la parte marina del capoluogo Imperia, a Porto Maurizio e nella zona di Borgo, richiama appassionati di surf.

Ma è difficile trovare zone non frequentate da surfisti ed amanti del kitesurf: nelle mappe degli appassionati di tutta Europa (e in qualche caso del mondo) ci sono le spiagge di Alassio, Diano Marina, Pietra Ligure e Varazze. Ma anche quella di Recco, nel Golfo Paradiso, richiama ogni anno migliaia di appassionati, che sommano la loro passione per le onde a quella per la gastronomia. E a pochi metri da lì c’è anche la storica piscina di Punta Sant’Anna, che è la casa della Pro Recco di Mautizio Felugo, la squadra di pallanuoto più titolata del mondo.

Gli appassionati di natura hanno a loro disposizione la possibilità di escursioni in compagnia dei biologi marini, alla ricerca di una pinna tra le onde, degli avvistamenti dei delfini, delle code delle balenottere, che hanno il loro habitat in questa regione che è oasi del whalewatching.

Le escursioni partono dalle maggiori località da ponente a levante e due punti particolari di osservazione sono quelli che partono dallo spazio d’acqua davanti al Porto Antico di Genova e dalla zona davanti a Savona e da Vado Ligure, entrando in entrambi i casi direttamente nello specchio d’acqua che arriva davanti alla Corsica e alla Sardegna noto come “Santuario dei cetacei”.

Un’altra offerta che contribuisce alla destagionalizzazione su cui Regione Liguria ha investito moltissimo è quella del pescaturismo: in mezzo al mare con i pescatori e poi a

Excursions depart from the major towns from west to east, and two particular observation points are those that depart from the stretch of water in front of Genoa's Old Port and from the area in front of Savona and Vado Ligure, in both cases entering directly into the stretch of water in front of Corsica and Sardinia known as the “Cetacean Sanctuary”.

Another offering that contributes to seasonality reduction, in which the Liguria Region has invested heavily, is fishing tourism: out at sea with the fishermen and then ashore to cook dishes based on typical regional or local specialities. It is an opportunity to take part in traditional fishing, observe and discover the long tradition and culture of maritime activities and taste freshly caught fish. Again, this is widespread along the entire coastline of the region, but particularly in Tigullio.

There are also many diving enthusiasts, even in winter, in search of underwater fauna and vegetation. The stretches of sea included in national or regional marine protected areas are: the Portofino Marine Protected Area, the Cinque Terre Marine Protected Area, which is home to the rare false black coral, and the Island of Bergeggi. In addition, the Hanbury Botanical Gardens of Capo Mortola and Portovenere are recognised as Marine Protected Areas, while the Gallinara Island is a regional nature reserve.

And, still on the subject of islands, there are also UNESCO World Heritage Sites: in Portovenere and Cinque Terre there are the islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto. Palmaria, the only inhabited island in Liguria with fifty residents, offers the opportunity for wonderful walks among cliffs overlooking the sea and slopes covered with thick Mediter-

E sono moltissimi gli appassionati di subacquea, anche d’inverno, alla ricerca di fauna e vegetazione sottomarina. I tratti di mare inclusi in aree marine protette nazionali o regionali sono: l’Area Marina Protetta di Portofino, quella delle Cinque Terre, che custodisce il raro falso corallo nero, e l'Isola di Bergeggi. Inoltre i Giardini Botanici Hanbury di Capo Mortola e Portovenere sono riconosciute Aree di Tutela Marina, mentre l'Isola Gallinara è riserva naturale regionale. E, sempre a proposito di isole, ce ne sono anche patrimonio dell’Unesco: a Portovenere e Cinque Terre ci sono infatti le isole Palmaria, Tino e Tinetto. La Palmaria, unica isola abitata della Liguria con cinquanta residenti, offre la possibilità di stupende passeggiate tra scogliere a picco sul mare e pendici coperte da una folta macchia mediterranea. In the following weeks, everything was sold out: ‘This data confirms that Liguria is a highly sought-after destination even outside the usual summer season,’ explains Regional Councillor for Tourism Luca Lombardi. Among the most sought-after municipalities are Borghetto Santo Spirito and Borgio Verezzi and, in addition to the four provincial capitals of Imperia, Savona, Genoa and La Spezia, the Cinque Terre, Rapallo, Santa Margherita Ligure, Sanremo and Alassio. Considerate tra le olive più delicate e pregiate al mondo, le Taggiasche si distinguono per le loro dimensioni minute e carnose, per il profumo intenso e inconfondibile, e per la straordinaria morbidezza della polpa che si scioglie in bocca. La loro pelle sottilissima esalta un sapore aromatico, lievemente fruttato, capace di conquistare anche i palati più esigenti.
