EXPO RIVA SCHUH SI CHIUDE CON NUMERI POSITIVI Si chiude con un bilancio tutto sommato positivo Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags, prima manifestazione fieristica in presenza per il settore dopo più di un anno di stop a causa del Covid. A confronto, 406 aziende espositrici e 2.700 visitatori provenienti da 79 paesi del mondo Certo, l’incertezza economica e sociale innescata dalla pandemia non si è sciolta, ma il settore ha dato un concreto segnale di voler tornare a confrontarsi dal vivo, a voler guardare al futuro con ottimismo. Lo si è visto a Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags (dal 18 al 20 luglio a Riva del Garda) dove le 406 aziende espositrici hanno incontrato 2.700 buyer provenienti non solo dall’Europa – e in particolare da Italia, Germania, Polonia, Spagna, Francia e Olanda – ma anche da Russia, Canada, Stati Uniti e Taiwan, che hanno sfidato le limitazioni alla mobilità internazionale pur di esserci.

Expo Riva Schuh ha testimoniato così la volontà di ripartire del settore, confermata dai dati dell’inchiesta di mercato realizzata dalla fiera: “In un momento in cui le esportazioni soffrono ancora dei blocchi imposti dalla pandemia, partecipare a questa fiera significa agganciare la ripresa di quei mercati che per primi sono riusciti a uscire dalla crisi e cercare nuovi clienti che possano temporaneamente sostituire quelli ancora impossibilitati a viaggiare. - ha dichiarato Enrico Cietta, presidente del Comitato Scientifico di Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags - Questa tendenza è confermata dai dati che abbiamo raccolto, che prevedono maggiori flussi export all’interno dei continenti, a discapito di scambi commerciali tra Paesi più distanti, in una cosiddetta globalizzazione di prossimità”.

Hanno confermato questo trend anche le associazioni di produttori e esportatori sotto le quali si sono raccolte le collettive nazionali di espositori: “Arrivati in fiera con basse aspettative siamo rimasti sorpresi dall’andamento: abbiamo avuto buoni contatti e anche fatto ordini. – dichiara Imanol Martinez Gómez, Marketing & International Business Development Director della spagnola FICE – In particolare, oltre agli europei hanno incontrato anche buyer dalla Russia e dagli Stati Uniti: un buon segnale, era d’altronde tempo di tornare a vederci dal vivo, soprattutto per un prodotto come il nostro che necessita di essere visto e toccato. Ne hanno approfittato le 20 aziende della nostra rappresentanza fisica, mentre altre 7 hanno scelto la piattaforma digitale”. Le aziende della Pakistan Manufacturer Association hanno apprezzato la possibilità di promuovere l’industria nazionale come sede di outsourcing: “la fiera costituisce una ottima occasione di confronto e anche di ripartenza: le dimensioni più raccolte di

questa edizione hanno permesso alle nostre sette aziende di essere più visibili e quindi di avere più visite agli stand, con molti nuovi contatti, soprattutto dall’Europa dell’Est” hanno dichiarato M. Zubair, direttore di UE Ltd e Kashif Abbas, sales head di Servis. Importante dal punto di vista numerico in fiera, la presenza turca si è suddivisa tra aziende espositrici negli spazi generali (una quarantina), sia sotto l’egida dell’EIB Aegean Exporters Association: “Le nostre 11 aziende sono rimaste soddisfatte dell’andamento e in particolare dei contatti generati. - ha dichiarato Hhaldun Sayi, Industriial Sectors Expert dell’associazione – Per noi il mercato europeo è strategico e tornare a confrontarci con esso in presenza è fondamentale”.

Accanto all’edizione fisica, la fiera digitale Digital Connection partita lo scorso 13 giugno, nei tre giorni di fiera ha sperimentato una impennata dalle connessioni, offrendo supporto alle 120 aziende presenti in forma virtuale sulla piattaforma.

Non resta ora che attendere la prossima edizione, programmata dal 15 al 18 gennaio 2022: si torna alle date consuete e, si spera, alla piena normalità.

EXPO RIVA SCHUH ENDS WITH POSITIV NUMBERS Overall, a positive edition for Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags, which was the first to be held in-person and on-site for the sector after more than a year of events being put on standby because of Covid. Over 2,700 visitors arrived from 79 different countries around the world with 406 companies exhibiting at the fair Certainly, the economic and social uncertainty kicked off by the pandemic has not let up, but the sector has given a concrete signal of wanting to return to live interaction and exchanges, while looking to the future with optimism. This is what happened at Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags (from 18 to 20 July at Riva del Garda), where 406 exhibitors met up with 2,700 buyers coming not only from Europe – and particularly from Italy, Germany, Poland, Spain, France, and the Netherlands – but also from Russia, Canada, the United States, and Taiwan, overcoming the limits on international travel so they could once again participate in-person.

Expo Riva Schuh confirmed the sector’s desire to restart, as seen by the data contained within the market survey carried out by the fair: “At a time, when exports are still suffering due to the blocks imposed by the pandemic, taking part in this fair means a recovery for these sectors which are amongst the first to emerge from the crisis and find new customers who can temporarily substitute those who are still unable to travel – declared Enrico Cietta, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags – This trend was also confirmed by the survey, which foresees greater flows of export within the various continents, at the expense of international exchange with more distant countries, in this so-called proximity globalisation”.

Confirming this trend were also the export associations representing the national collectives of exhibitors at the fair: “We arrived at the fair with low expectations, but were surprised at the outcome: we had a good level of contacts and also had orders made. – declares Imanol Martinez, Marketing & International Business Development Director of FICE (a Spanish association) - In particular, in addition to Europeans, we also met buyers from Russia and the United States: this is a good sign, but on the other hand it was time to get back together again, especially for a product such as ours that needs to be seen and touched. 20 of our companies decided to participate on-site, while another 7 chose the digital platform”. The companies of the Pakistan Manufacturer Association appreciated the possibility of promoting the national industry as a place for outsourcing: “the fair provides an excellent opportunity to exchange views and restart: the condensed dimensions of this edition allowed our seven companies to be more visible and therefore have more visits to their stands, with many new contacts, above all from Eastern Europe”, declared M. Zubair, Director of UE Pvt. Ltd. and Kashif Abbas - Sales Head of Service Industries Limited (a Pakistani association). Important, instead, in terms of physical numbers was Turkish participation, which was divided between exhibitors in the general fair areas, and also represented by the EIB Aegean Exporters Association: “Our 11 companies were satisfied with the outcome, especially for the new contacts generated. - declared Hhaldun Sayi, Industrial Sectors Expert of the association – For us, the European market is strategic and

returning to interact with one another in-person is fundamental”.

Next to the physical edition, the digital fair experience, Digital Connection, which was launched on 13th June, saw a surge in the number of connections over the three days of the fair, supporting the business of over 120 companies who took part virtually.

Now, all that’s left to do is await the next edition, scheduled from 15 to 18 January 2022, in what is a return to the traditional dates and a hoped-for return to normality.

Digital Connection at the fair The on-site debut for Digital Connection during the last summer edition of Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags last July has been excellent.

Future evolutions The Digital Connection represents the beginning of a digitisation process of the event that will lead Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags towards a more contemporary and innovative identity, increasingly oriented towards new generations and new professionals in volume footwear and accessories.
