SICUR 2020: PIÙ GRANDE E INTERNAZIONALE

La fiera per la sicurezza di Madrid organizzata da Ifema, giunta ormai alla sua 22esima edizione, punta ad imporsi a livello internazionale come uno degli appuntamenti di riferimento per il settore grazie anche ad uno spazio espositivo potenziato (con 2 nuovi padiglioni dedicati), una maggiore internazionalità ed eventi collaterali di approfondimento.

Torna dopo un biennio il tradizionale Salone della sicurezza organizzato da Ifema, Sicur, dal 25 al 28 febbraio alla fiera di Madrid. La manifestazione mira ad imponendosi nel panorama internazionale quale appuntamento da non perdere per tutti gli operatori della sicurezza, fuoco e protezione individuale. Anche per questo motivo il nuovo comitato organizzatore presieduto da Antonio Pérez Turró, presidente di AES, ha disposto l’ampliamento dello spazio espositivo, che occuperà i padiglioni 1, 3, 5, 6, 8 e 10 della Feria de Madrid, due in più rispetto al 2018. Sul fronte espositori, il Salone di Madrid ha visto la partecipazione nel 2018 di 651 aziende (+13% sull’e-

dizione precedente), provenienti da tutta la Spagna ma anche dall’estero, offrendo una panoramica completa e con un’ampia gamma di soluzioni integrate di tutti i settori rappresentati: Sicurezza-Difesa, Sicurezza antincendio-Emergenze e Sicurezza sul lavoro. Le previsioni sono di superare i risultati del 2018 anche in termini di visitatori (allora 43.732 presenze, + 3,5% sull’edizione precedente), anche grazie alle sinergie con il concomitante Salone delle porte e dell’automazione Smart Doors.

Tra le priorità degli organizzatori c’è anche l'internazionalizzazione della manifestazione attraverso attività incentrate sulla presenza di SICUR nei principali eventi di riferimento inter-

nazionali sulla sicurezza, e attraverso l’intensificazione del Programma Ospiti Stranieri e degli incontri B2B. Anche nell’edizione del 2020 Sicur dedica un’attenzione particolare a rafforzare il suo ruolo di momento di approfondimento e informazione attraverso attività ed eventi realizzati in collaborazione con le associazioni del settore, a cominciare dal programma di conferenze Foro SICUR che, come in ogni edizione, si concentrerà sui temi-chiave per la sicurezza e le

novità di prodotto, con un approccio sempre più orientato al dinamismo e al coinvolgimento e dimostrazioni dal vivo che coinvolgeranno anche la Gallery of New Products.

Non ultimo, un ruolo importante all’interno del Salone è interpretato dalla trasformazione digitale, con lo sviluppo di un nuovo sito Web, una strategia di marketing digitale e un servizio di connessione wi-fi gratuita a disposizione dei visitatori.

SICUR 2020: BIGGER AND MORE INTERNATIONAL

The International Security Exhibition organised

by IFEMA in Madrid, which is now in its 22nd edition, has set its sights on promoting itself on an international level as one of the events of reference for the sector, thanks also to the expansion of its exhibition area (with 2 new dedicated halls), a greater international scope, and collateral events taking place in conjunction with it.

After two years, Sicur, the traditional Security Exhibition organised by IFEMA, returns from 25 to 28 February at Feria de Madrid. The event aims to establish itself on the international panorama as an event that is not to be missed by all safety, fire, and PPE operators. It is also for this reason that the new Organising Committee chaired by Antonio Pérez Turró, President of AES, has decided to expand the exhibition area which will occupy halls 1, 3, 5, 6, 8 and 10 at Feria de Madrid, which is two more than in 2018. In terms of exhibitors, in 2018, the Madrid Exhibition saw the participation of 651 companies (up +13% over the previous edition), coming from all of Spain but also from abroad, offering a complete panorama with a wide range of integrated solutions of all the sectors represented: Safety and Security, Fire and Emergency, and Workplace Safety. The expectations are to exceed the results of 2018 also in terms of visitors (which recorded 43,732 participants, up +3.5% from the previous edition), also thanks to synergies with the concurrent Doors and Automation Trade Fair, Smart Doors.

Among the priorities of the organisers is also the internationalisation of the fair through activities centred around SICUR’s presence at the main international reference events on security, as well as the intensification of the Foreign Guests Program and B2B programs.

The 2020 edition of Sicur will once again dedicate a special focus to reinforcing its role as a fair dedicated to promoting knowledge and information, through activities and events realised in collaboration with sector associations, starting from the Foro SICUR program of conferences, which, as in each edition, will focus on key themes for security and product novelties, with an approach increasingly oriented towards dynamism, encouraging participation, and live product demonstrations that will also include the Gallery of New Products.

Last, but not least, digital transformation will play an important role in the fair, with the development of a new website, a digital marketing strategy and a service of free Wi-Fi connection for visitors.

LA SICUREZZA VOLA AD A+A 2019 La più grande e internazionale fiera della sicurezza e della salute sul lavoro registra risultati da record, con oltre 73mila visitatori professionali e novità di prodotto e sistemi presentati da più di 2.100 espositori, il 70% dei quali internazionali.

Numeri importanti, che si stima non potranno che ripetersi al prossimo appuntamento, in calendario dal 26 al 29 ottobre 2021.

Si è concluso lo scorso 8 novembre il più grande appuntamento internazionale dedicato alla sicurezza e alla salute sul lavoro e i numeri non hanno tradito le aspettative: A+A ha chiuso i battenti contando sulle proposte di 2.121 espositori, dei quali il 70% internazionali (provenienti da Australia, Cina, Russia, passando per Tailandia, India e tutta l’Europa e il sud Africa, senza dimenticare il Brasile e gli Usa), per un totale di 63 nazioni coinvolte. Un evento che per la prima volta ha occupato più di 78.000 metri quadrati per dieci sale espositive ed è stato visitato da oltre 73.000 operatori professionali.

Ottimi risultati anche per il consueto ‘Congresso per la sicurezza sul posto di lavoro e la medicina occupazionale’, giunto alla sua 36esima edizione,

il cambiamento demografico – non potrà che trovarli a Düsseldorf.”

Questo approccio a 360 gradi alla prevenzione e alla sostenibilità ha riguardato, infatti, l’insieme dei prodotti e delle novità presentati dagli espositori, così come l'ampia gamma di eventi collaterali quali gli Special Shows e le conferenze tenute da esperti di settore, che hanno riguardato tutti gli aspetti di una cultura della prevenzione in senso olistico: dalla gestione della salute aziendale, alla protezione personale, al design del posto di lavoro, così come le innovazioni legate alla digitalizzazione del mondo del lavoro, queste ultime trattate soprattutto nell’ambito della Highlight Route e nella nuova area Start-Up. L’edizione appena conclusasi di A+A

che ha accolto ben 5.200 visitatori.

La sostenibilità è stata al centro di entrambi gli eventi, e non solo come tematica cui sono stati dedicati vari incontri (ad esempio “Produzione tessile sostenibile” o “Equità nelle catene di approvvigionamento globali”), ma anche come concetto olistico e base per lo svolgimento di un lavoro sano e sicuro. “Sono rimasto impressionato dal modo in cui il nostro motto, ‘People Matter’, è stato concretamente tradotto in pratica durante le quattro giornate di A+A” ha, infatti, affermato Wolfram Diener, Amministratore Delegato di Messe Düsseldorf GmbH. “Chi è alla ricerca di soluzioni per gli attuali e imminenti cambiamenti nel nostro mondo del lavoro - sia questo attraverso la digitalizzazione o 16

ha poi confermato l’espansione e la crescita progressiva del segmento, Personal Protective Equipment, da sempre l’area più grande della manifestazione, tanto più importanti se si considera il numero crescente di lavoratori non più giovani, per i quali il mercato offre sempre più soluzioni. “Il mercato dei DPI continua a beneficiare della crescente vocazione delle aziende a proteggere ed educare meglio i propri dipendenti” ha affermato Birgit Horn, Direttore di A+A, commentando le molteplici sfaccettature dei dispositivi di protezione e abbigliamento protettivo offerti presso il Salone, che riflette ancora una volta il potere innovativo di questo settore.

Important numbers, which are estimated will probably repeat themselves at the next edition to be held from 26 to 29 October 2021.

This past 8 November, the leading international event dedicated to safety and health at work ended, with numbers that did betray expectations: A+A closed its doors counting a total of 2,121 exhibitors, of which 70% were international in origin (coming from Australia, China, Russia, passing through Thailand, India, all of Europe and South Africa, without forgetting Brazil and the USA), for a total of 63 nations involved. An event, which for the first time occupied more than 78,000 square metres in ten exhibition halls with over 73,000 members of the trade visiting it.

Excellent results also for the traditional appointment with the “Congress for Occupational Safety and Occupational Medicine”, which is now in its 36th edition, and which welcomed 5,200 visitors.

Sustainability was at the centre of both events, not only as a theme with a number of dedicated events (including for example “Sustainable Textile Manufacturing” or “Fairness in Global Supply Chains”), but also as a holistic concept and basis for the development of a healthy and safe workplace. “I was impressed how our motto ‘People Matter’ really came to life in practice at A+A over the past four days”, commented Wolfram Diener, Managing Director at Messe Düsseldorf GmbH. “Those seeking solutions for the current and imminent changes in our working world – be this through digitalisation or demographic change – will be hard pushed to find them anywhere else but in Düsseldorf ”.

In fact, this 360-degree approach to prevention and sustainability regarded the overall proposal of products and innovations presented by exhibitors, as did the wide range of side events like the Special Shows and expert conferences, which covered all aspects of a holistic prevention culture: from corporate health management to personal protection to workplace design. There were then innovations for the digitalisation of the working world, which were especially prominent along the Highlight Route and in the new Start-up Zone.

The edition of A+A that just ended also confirmed the expansion and progressive growth of the segment of Personal Protective Equipment, which has always been the traditionally biggest area at A+A. This is all the more so important when considering the growing number of workers who are no longer young, to whom the market offers an increasing number of solutions. “The PPE market continues to profit from companies’ rising preparedness to better protect and educate their employees”, commented Birgit Horn, Director of A+A 2019, commenting on the multifaceted ranges of protective equipment and protective wear offered at A+A, which again reflected the innovative power of this sector.

FASHION AND SAFETY: SEMPRE PIÙ VICINI Tessuti e materiali ad alta performance, fast fastening, dettagli mutuati dal mondo dell’utility e del safety, così come camouflage e colorazioni fluo sono entrati ormai a far parte della moda quotidiana, sempre più frenetica e globale, e come tale interessata a garantire comfort e praticità ai moderni ‘cittadini del mondo’, impegnati in situazioni diverse e spesso a latitudini diverse anche nella stessa giornata.

Allo stesso tempo, l’abbigliamento e la calzatura da lavoro e sicurezza sono sempre più attenti all’estetica oltre che alle prestazioni, affinché il lavoratore possa sentirsi a proprio agio anche in situazioni e ambienti extra lavoro. Due mondi - quello del fashion e quello del safety - che appaiono quindi sempre più vicini e convergenti, come confermato dall’ultima edizione della fiera di Dusseldorf A+A.

FASHION AND SAFETY: INCREASINGLY CLOSE-KNIT High performance fabrics and materials, fast fastenings, details borrowed from the worlds of utility and safety, while camouflage and neon colours have entered the realm of an increasingly frenetic and global dailywear; where modern ‘citizens of the world’, finding themselves in different situations and at different latitudes all in the same day, require a guarantee of comfort and practicality. ra i marchi di riferimento di Over Teak, Uniwork ha partecipato anche a questa edizione di A+A presentando la sua nuova linea di calzature Valle per uomo e donna. A caratterizzare la nuova scarpa di sicurezza è innanzitutto l’assenza di metallo, grazie all’impiego di un puntale in composito e alla lamina antiperforazione in Kevlar. Si tratta poi di un prodotto ‘montato’ su fondo misto in gomma/PU, a tutto vantaggio della leggerezza e quindi anche del comfort, ma con un battistrada ad alto grip

BEAUTIFUL AND LIGHTWEIGHT LIKE A SNEAKER Lightness, comfort and a striking look characterise the new proposal for men and women presented by the company from Barletta, which has been successfully working in the safety footwear industry since ’96.

Among the brands of reference of Over Teak, Uniwork once again participated in this edition of A+A, presenting its new Valle footwear line for men and women. The new safety shoe is completely metal-free, thanks to the use of a composite toe-cap and an anti-perforation Kevlar midplate. ‘Mounted’ on an outsole made from a rubber/PU compound, the resulting product is lightweight and comfortable, but with a grip-fast tread that ensures maximum stability. The upper is waterproof and extremely breathable, and made

from technical nubuck fabric matched with mesh or with anti-scratch and anti-abrasion Putek. Some of the models are even fitted with a quick fastening system as an alternative to traditional laces.

I BRAND PIÙ CERCATI ONLINE SEMrush, azienda leader per l’analisi della concorrenza e ricerca per l’online marketing, ha analizzato le ricerche online fatte da milioni di italiani nell’ultimo anno, per individuare le parole e i brand più digitati nell’ambito delle calzature di sicurezza.

Anche se in Italia i tassi di infortuni sul lavoro continuano ad essere ancora una questione piuttosto critica, sono molti gli imprenditori che prestano sempre più attenzione alle norme di sicurezza, così come gli stessi lavoratori cercano di informarsi su normative e strumenti per tutelare la propria incolumità.

Lo dimostra il fatto che il termine "sicurezza sul lavoro" venga digitato sui motori di ricerca in Italia con un elevato tasso di frequenza durante tutti i mesi dell’anno. Meno importante il volume di ricerca, seppur sempre costante, collegato all’item generico "scarpe antinfortunistica", uno dei dispositivi più importanti per chi svolge mansioni a rischio, che devono essere sempre in buono stato e sostituite quando l’usura può comprometterne la qualità.

Ma quali sono i brand di scarpe antinfortunistica che ispirano maggior fiducia nei consumatori e, quindi, vengono cercati di più in rete?

La risposta arriva da SEMrush, piattaforma SaaS per la gestione della visibilità online, che ha analizzato le ricerche online fatte in Italia da milioni di utenti da dicembre 2018 a novembre 2019.

Facendo una media del periodo preso in esame, ogni mese vengono effettuate in media ben 88.471 ricerche online correlate a produttori di calzature antinfortunistica, con un picco ad ottobre 2019, in cui sono state raggiunte le 140.710 ricerche.

La marca che sembra suscitare maggior interesse è Dike, digitata 31.583 volte ogni mese, seguita

Even if in Italy the number of workplace accidents continues to be a rather critical issue, many entrepreneurs are increasingly attentive to and aware of safety standards, as are workers who do their best to keep themselves informed on the latest laws and tools that can be used to ensure their safety. This is demonstrated by the search term “occupational safety”, which is entered into search engines in Italy with a high rate of frequency during all months of the year. Less frequent, though always constant, are searches connected to the generic term “safety shoes”, one of the most important PPE devices for those with job duties prone to risk, which must always be in good condition and replaced when eventual wear-andtear compromises the quality. Which brands of safety shoes inspire the most trust in consumers and consequently are searched for the most online? The answer arrives from SEMrush, SaaS platform for the management of online visibility, which analysed the online searches done in Italy by millions of users between December 2018 and November 2019. By analysing an average of

Andando ad analizzare il traffico diretto su ciascuno dei siti dei vari produttori di scarpe, notiamo che la classifica delle preferenze cambia notevolmente. Se prendendo come riferimento le digitazioni sui motori di ricerca Dike rappresenta quasi il 36% delle ricerche totali, nella classifica che tiene conto delle visite sui siti produttori troviamo ai primi posti un brand che nella precedente top 5 non apparivano affatto: Lotto.it, al secondo posto con una media di 47.571 accessi mensili. The brand that seemed to create the most interest was Dike, which was searched for 31,583 times every month, followed by U-Power, with 29,617 monthly searches, Diadora Utility, with 9,333, Grisport with 8,967 searches per month and Cofra with 6,900. When analysing the direct traffic on each of the individual footwear manufacturers’ websites, the classification of preferences changes considerably. If we take into consideration the terms typed into search engines, Dike represents almost 36% of the total searches, while in the classification of visits to producers’ websites, we find in a leading position brands that did not appear at all in the previous top 5: Lotto.it, at second place with an average of 47,571 monthly visits.

At first place, with a clear lead over all the other brands, is Diadora.com, with 171,579 users visiting it every month, representing around 60.5% of the total searches. The other rankings of the top 5 sites visited see U-Power.it in third place, which is one position lower than its ranking in the other classification, with 27,958 monthly visits; Dike.work, with its 12,868 visits, which just managed to take fourth place, when before it lead the classification with over one-third of the total searches; and finally, also here in fifth place is Cofra.it with 11,771 monthly visits.

Una parte rilevante dell’attività di CIMAC è svolta a favore della calzatura di sicurezza: ne parliamo con Siro Badon, presidente di Assocalzaturifici, mentre con l’ing. Giuseppe Belotti, direttore tecnico di CIMAC, ci aggiorniamo sulle ultime novità in fatto di normative che riguardano specificamente la calzatura safety.

A point of reference in the footwear manufacturing industry for over 30 years, CIMAC, the Italian Centre for Footwear Application Materials, is a fundamental partner for innovation, consulting, monitoring of regulations, analyses and tests, the development of new materials, and quality certifications.

An expertise that today has expanded to include other sectors in the world of fashion, like leather goods, fashion accessories and apparel.

An important part of CIMAC’s activities is represented by safety footwear: we spoke of this with Siro Badon, President of Assocalzaturifici, while with Eng. Giuseppe Belotti, technical director of CIMAC, we learned of the latest regulations dictating the segment of safety shoes in particular.

Presidente Badon, quali sono i servizi offerti da CIMAC al comparto della calzatura di sicurezza?

“Le calzature di sicurezza e da lavoro sono dispositivi di protezione individuale (DPI). CIMAC è accreditato da Accredia e autorizzato dal MISE e dal Ministero del Lavoro e delle Politiche Sociali ad operare come Organismo di certificazione per la concessione e il mantenimento della marcatura CE. Nei nostri laboratori vengono eseguiti i test previsti dalle norme di riferimento per valutare la conformità dei DPI che dovranno ottenere la marcatura CE. Dopo il superamento dei test di laboratorio, il nostro ufficio certificazione valuta la documentazione tecnica del DPI. Se anche questa fase ha esito positivo il DPI può essere marcato CE. Il servizio è rivolto anche ai produttori di guanti di protezione

President Badon, what are the services offered by CIMAC to the safety footwear industry?

“Safety and occupational shoes are considered to be personal protective equipment (PPE). CIMAC is accredited by Accredia and authorised by MISE and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs to operate as a Certification Body in granting and maintaining the CE mark.

Our laboratories perform the tests required by the relative legislation to assess the conformity of the PPE seeking to obtain CE marking. After passing the laboratory tests, our certification office examines the technical documentation of the PPE. If also this phase passes the test, the PPE can obtain CE marking. The service is aimed at producers of protective gloves for industrial use (which protect against mechanical, thermal-related, and chemical risks, etc.), but also at gloves to be worn on motorcycles.

In addition to all the tests required for the certification and conservation of the CE marking, in the laboratories of CIMAC we also do quality assurance tests so that producers, retailers, and importers can examine the essential properties of their footwear (or their gloves) along the entire supply chain.

Our vast range of testing allows our customers to be proactive in having their footwear evaluated in all phases of development and production”.

Out of all the footwear tested, what is the importance of safety footwear for CIMAC and what trend is it following?

“The importance is significant considering that we are leaders in Italy in safety footwear as well as a point of reference for national producers, with a clientele that is also by now international. Over the years, we have also grown a lot in the segment of gloves for industrial use with CE marking”.

Oltre a tutte le prove previste per l’ottenimento e il mantenimento della marcatura CE, nei laboratori di CIMAC effettuiamo prove di quality assurance affinché i produttori, i retailer, gli importatori possano valutare le proprietà essenziali delle loro calzature (o dei loro guanti) lungo tutta la supply chain.

La nostra vasta gamma di prove permette ai nostri clienti di adoperarsi attivamente per far valutare le loro calzature in tutte le fasi dello sviluppo e della produzione”.

Sul totale delle calzature testate, quale peso ha presso CIMAC la calzatura di sicurezza e quale trend sta seguendo?

“Il peso è significativo, considerato che sulla calzatura di sicurezza siamo leader in Italia e siamo un punto di riferimento per i produttori nazionali ma vantiamo ormai anche una clientela internazionale. Negli anni siamo cresciuti molto anche nel segmento dei guanti per uso industriale da marcare CE”.

Eng. Giuseppe Bellotti, as far as on-going regulations are concerned, what are the latest changes for the sector of safety footwear?

“The most important change from a regulation standpoint is represented by the revision of the EN ISO 20344/5/6/7 harmonized standards that confer a presumption of conformity with the relevant health and safety requirements expressed by Regulation 2016/425 for safety footwear that protects at the workplace and is intended for professional use. After some years of opposition by Italian experts, the proposal to use the “nail” with a pyramidal shape in the perforation-resistance test for the shoe’s outsole was abandoned because it was unable to guarantee the repeatability and reproducibility of the results. Another important change that emerged under the revision regards the slip-resistance test with testing methods that are now closer to the actual use of the shoes with a part expressly destined for footwear produced in series with the possibility of being adapted to the individual user through the use of a dedicated arch support. We believe the regulation will be completed by the end of 2020, allowing it to be subsequently published on the Official Journal of the European Commission. The revision of the above-mentioned regulations will be the starting point for revising all other safety standards like those for firefighters and for protection against chainsaws.

Over the course of the next year, the new regulations for resistance to chemical agents by footwear and footwear for welders and foundries will also be published on the Official Journal of the European Commission.

The revisions do not concern only footwear but also protective gloves: soon to be released are the revisions to the EN 420 standard for gloves and the EN 407 standard for gloves that protect against heat and fire”.

Ing. Giuseppe Bellotti, dal punto di vista normativo, quali sono le novità che riguardano il settore della calzatura di sicurezza?

“La novità più importante dal punto di vista normativo è costituita dalla revisione delle norme armonizzate EN ISO 20344/5/6/7, che forniscono presunzione di conformità ai requisiti di salute e sicurezza espressi dal Regolamento 2016/425 delle calzature di sicurezza, di protezione e da lavoro per uso professionale. Dopo alcuni anni di resistenza da parte degli esperti italiani è stata finalmente abbandonata la proposta di utilizzare, per la prova di perforazione del fondo della calzatura, il “chiodo” a punta tronco-piramidale, che non garantiva la ripetibilità e la riproducibilità dei risultati. Altre importanti novità emerse dalla revisione delle norme sono relative alla resistenza allo scivolamento, con modalità di prova più vicine alle condizioni d’impiego delle calzature e una parte destinata espressamente alle calzature prodotte in serie, con possibilità di adattarsi al singolo utilizzatore attraverso l’impiego di un plantare dedicato. Riteniamo che la norma possa essere completata entro la fine del 2020 per essere successivamente pubblicata sulla Gazzetta Ufficiale della Commissione Europea. La revisione delle norme sopra indicate sarà il punto di partenza per rivedere tutte le altre norme come quelle per i vigili del fuoco e per la protezione da sega a catena.

Nel corso del prossimo anno saranno inoltre pubblicate sulla Gazzetta Ufficiale della Commissione Europea le nuove norme per la resistenza agli agenti chimici delle calzature e le calzature da saldatore e da fonderia.

Le novità non riguardano solamente le calzature ma anche i guanti di protezione: sono di prossima pubblicazione le revisioni delle norme EN 420 relativa ai guanti ed EN 407 per i guanti di protezione contro calore e fuoco”.

in gomma dotata di particolari scanalature nel battistrada in grado di garantire un elevato grip e stabilità anche su terreni scoscesi. La fodera in Crosstech garantisce la massima protezione anche dagli agenti patogeni (es. sangue), la tomaia in crosta si pulisce facilmente ed è resistente ai graffi e all’usura, mentre l’allacciatura avvolgente mantiene stabile la caviglia. La leggerezza è assicurata dallo studio sul design, dalla conformazione della suola e dall’impiego di un puntale in materiale composito.

Calzatura certificata con protezione di livello HI3 isolante al calore fino a 250 gradi, la nuova calzatura si rivolge in particolare ai mercati dell’Europa occidentale che si affacciano sul Mediterraneo con frequenti incendi boschivi.

platform inaugurated in April 2018, which joins the historic production facility in Castelcucco in the province of Treviso. The new productive hub was designed by paying special attention to the fragile eco-system in which it was constructed, integrating it as much as possible into this context and following the dictates of eco-sustainable architecture. The additional 15,000 square metres joining the already existing 25,000-square-metres is fruit of meticulous research that has diminished the impact of the large building by partially building it underground and creating a green roof planted with sedum, small succulent plants, which increases thermal insulation and recycles rainwater. This new eco-sustainable structure, which flanks the pre-existing photovoltaic system of panels in Grisport’s historic production plant (of over 7000 sqm), underlines the green spirit that has always distinguished Grisport, which is everattentive to reconciling industrial production with environmental sustainability.

At the last edition of A+A, the company from Paruzzaro (NO), which made the motto ‘Don’t worry, be happy!’ its own personal mission, presented its new RedPro safety line, which is specifically designed for indoor workplaces. Making it stand out is the absence of a toe-cap and antiperforation midplate, which meets the specifications of the 20347/2012 safety standard.

The resulting footwear is especially comfortable and lightweight, with the line offering two different choices in upper: in leather or in Putek Plus, an exclusive UPower material that is extremely breathable, waterproof, wear-resistant and extremely resistant to abrasion. This new line also features the highly acclaimed Infinergy sole, which helps to save energy for much longer than a traditional sole does. At the same time, it guarantees a feeling of lightness, is anti-fatigue,

Another brand new proposal that captured the attention of visitors at A+A was the Red Over, a shoe line for Civil Defence and Emergency Service personnel with a grip-fast sole that features however an Infinergy system, which ensures lightness and provides energy return, while allowing for a reduced feeling of fatigue. The new Red Over line is proposed in full grain plain leather or in Putek Plus or even in GoreTex leather, with highly visible inserts and anti-abrasion toe drags.

Delta Plus Group, a major player in the personal protective equipment market (P.P.E.), is continuing its policy of strengthening its business segments that have a high added value.

After the acquisition of Odco in October 2019, specialised in securing infrastructure against falls from height, announced the acquisition of two significant players in the safety boot sector in Europe, the Boots Company Group in Italy, and Netco Safety in France, with the aim of accelerating its development in this product segment and becoming a key player.

Founded over 20 years ago in Italy, Boots Company srl and Italboot srl, which was wholly owned by Boots Company srl, are specialised in the manufacture and marketing of PVC safety boots. The companies are recognised for their brands Euromax, Eurofort and Italboot. They market their products to distributors mainly present in Italy, France, Germany and Eastern Europe.

These two acquisitions allow Delta Plus Group to significantly strengthen its position in the safety boot segment in Europe.

Alba Shoes Group was in fact first founded as a manufacturer of uppers in 1993, in Lac, Albania.

Just a few years later, its production activity expanded to the extent that it became a point of reference for companies of international renown, favouring the opening of new production facilities in Tirana, Valona, and Corovode. Far-sightedness, commitment, and resourcefulness combined with constant investments in new state-of-the-art tech-

All the shoes produced by the Group are certified in compliance with EN ISO 20345:2011 and 20347:2012 safety standards by certified Institutions. Nevertheless, thanks to laboratories present in the facilities of Alba, which are fitted with the most modern equipment, the Group’s technicians are also capable of further verifying in-house the safety of footwear and its components by carrying out the same tests that are undertaken by Accredited Laboratories for PPE Certification.

The Group, with a quality management system that is ISO 9001:2015 certified, is supported by 6 different injection plants (for polyurethane soles and polyurethane with nitrile rubber soles) and a workforce of around two thousand individuals, capable of producing up to 8000 pairs of shoes a day. Paredes Seguridad, a company from Elche, which is among the leaders in safety footwear, was once again present at the international fair for safety and health at work, A+A, where it presented its new collection for 2020. In particular, the public of A+A especially appreciated the Jet and Amber models, which stood out for their design and above all their reduced weight, something that is not to be taken for granted in safety footwear that is traditionally rigid and heavy. Also standing out were the special nitrile EVA/RUBBER outsoles, which guarantee maximum impact resistance and, thanks to the design of the tread, offer a high level of across-the-board flexibility along with excellent SRC anti-slip properties. RECONVERTED S1P, SOLUZIONE GREEN PER IL SAFETY Selezionata fra i prodotti più innovativi alla fiera SICUR 2020, Reconverted S1P, della linea Green Fit Cofra, è un’assoluta novità nel mercato mondiale dell’antinfortunistica: le prime calzature da lavoro realizzate con materiali riciclati.

I

l tema della sostenibilità ambientale, oggi al centro del dibattito anche per il settore sicurezza sul lavoro, non è invece nuovo per Cofra, azienda manifatturiera nel settore delle calzature antinfortunistica e sul mercato dal 1938: immaginare un sistema economico sempre più virtuoso e competitivo, in cui etica ed economia viaggiano di pari passo, ha portato infatti l’azienda a sviluppare nel corso degli anni attività e iniziative a sostegno dell’ambiente.

Conscia del fatto che la rigenerazione degli scarti in materia prima rappresenta una fra le migliori pratiche in termini di sostenibilità ambientale, Cofra ha così investito energie e risorse per mettere a punto un materiale poliuretanico ottenuto dagli scarti di lavorazione delle proprie suole, evitando così il rilascio in discarica di un materiale dalle proprietà biodegradabili lentissime.

Dalla ricerca dei laboratori Cofra è nato così PolyGreen, un materiale costituito da poliuretano vergine e poliuretano riciclato opportunamente dosati e miscelati al fine di garantire un bilanciamento perfetto fra assorbimento di energia d’impatto e portanza. Poly-Green è utilizzato per l’inserto della suola nella zona del tallone e per la soletta ECO-TECH, che risulta inoltre anatomica, antistatica, forata, profumata, soffice e confortevole.

La tomaia del modello Reconverted S1P SRC è, inoltre, realizzata in tessuto jacquard ecosostenibile ottenuto con filato 100% PET che soddisfa i requisiti del Global Recycle Standard (GRS).

Presenta poi un’accoppiatura Hot Melt di ultima generazione, che rappresenta la risposta più innovativa per l’accoppiatura dei tessuti in termini di efficienza e rispetto dell’ambiente e totale assen-

za di solventi che rende il processo eco-compatibile. La tomaia di ciascun paio è ricavata dal riciclo di 9 bottigliette in plastica da 50 cl. Le bottiglie, dopo essere state raccolte e sottoposte a processi di lavaggio e triturazione, vengono trasformate in scaglie, poi in granuli. I granuli poi estrusi in filo. Il filato diviene tessuto in 100% PET riciclato.

Sempre in un’ottica di sostenibilità, sono stati utilizzati lacci realizzati al 100% con filato riciclato proveniente da bottiglie in plastica post-consumo, raccolte in Italia. Anche le etichette lingua e bandierine sono ottenute al 100% con filato riciclato da bottiglie in plastica, così come il packaging è realizzato tutto in carta e cartone riciclati.

RECONVERTED S1P, THE GREEN SOLUTION FOR SAFETY Selected among the most innovative products at the SICUR 2020 fair, Reconverted S1P, from the Cofra Green Fit line, is brand new to the worldwide market of PPE: the first-ever occupational footwear made from recycled materials.

The theme of environmental sustainability, today at the centre of a debate also for the world of occupational safety, is not new to Cofra, a manufacturer of safety footwear on the market since 1938: by imagining a more virtuous and competitive economic system, where ethics and economy go hand-in-hand, over the years, the company began developing activities and initiatives in support of the environment. With the understanding that the regeneration of raw material discards represents one of the best practices in terms of environmental sustainability, Cofra decided to invest in energies and resources for the development of a polyurethane material derived from scraps generated during the production of its soles, thus avoiding that a material with extremely slow rates of biodegradation ended up in the landfill. Accordingly, from the research of COFRA’s laboratories arrives Poly-Green, a material made up by virgin polyurethane and recycled polyurethane appropriately dosed and blended to guarantee a perfect balance between energy impact absorption and lift. Poly-

Green is used for the insert of soles in the heel areas and in the ECO-TECH insole, with properties that are anatomical, anti-static, pierced, scented, soft and comfortable. The upper of the Reconverted S1P SRC model is also made from ecosustainable jacquard fabric obtained from 100% PET yarn that satisfies the requirements of Global Recycle Standard (GRS). There is then state-ofthe-art Hot Melt bonding, representing the most innovative answer to fabric bonding in terms of efficiency and environmental respect, thanks to a complete absence of solvents, which makes the process eco-compatible. The upper of each pair is obtained from the recycling of nine 50 cl. plastic bottles. The bottles, after having been collected and subjected to washing and grinding, are transformed into chips, and then pellets. The pellets are then extruded and spun into yarn. The yarn becomes 100% recycled PET fabric. Always with an eye to sustainability, even the laces are made from 100% recycled yarn coming from post-consumer plastic bottles collected in Italy. Likewise, the labels used on the tongue and flag labels are 100% made from yarn recycled from plastic bottles, as is the packaging, which is completely made from recycled paper and cardboard.

La ricerca continua in tecnologie sempre più sofisticate e materiali di ultima generazione ha portato l’azienda a mettere a punto la nuova linea Safe Knit con Forma Anatomica, nell’ambito della quale spicca il modello Le Mans Top S3 ESD SRC DGUV 112-191. A differenza dei sottopiedi rimovibili, la forma anatomica resta inalterata per

l’intera durata della calzatura, mantendendo al contempo il massimo confort. La Le Mans Top presenta, inoltre, una tomaia in tessuto poliestere con lavorazione jacquard, resistente al taglio, all’abrasione e allo strappo, anti-sfilo, idrorepellente e traspirante. Chiusura rapida sistema ATOP. Il puntale Power Cap in multistrato di fibra di vetro e particolato di gomma permette l’assorbimento degli urti fino a max. 200 Joule., è metal free, atermico, e aiuta a mantenere una costante temperatura corporea. Questo permette una sicurezza massima anche a temperature estreme, sopra e sotto lo zero, regalando un isolamento termico migliore rispetto ai puntali in alluminio o acciaio. La calzatura presenta inoltre il supporto anti torsione in ABS COMPOSHANK, che migliora la stabilità sulle scale, dove l’appoggio del piede non è totale, e dispositivo anti-statico SILVER STRIP DISCHARGE (SSD), che garantisce una sicurezza superiore allo standard, aumentando per tutta la durata della calzatura la capacità dispersiva delle cariche elettrostatiche.

The company from Padua, which recently created its new company Panther Albania sh.p.k for the production of uppers, now redoubles its efforts with its Safe Knit collection featuring the Le Mans Top model, which is characterised by an anatomical shape that does not change even with prolonged use.

For over 30 years, Panther has been producing safety and occupational injected footwear, which not only protects the feet from accidents, but also respects the morphology and physiology of the feet, providing relief from daily work fatigue, in addition to offering a sophisticated design that is beautiful to wear. It is present on the market

with two brands: Panther, for professionals and the most specialized and extreme sectors; and the brand Aboutblu, where design meets the most advanced technologies for an across-theboard target.

Over the last 5 years, the company from Bovolenta (PD) has increased its revenue by 50%, with extensive distribution around the world, and 2 production sites in Italy with partner factories in Bosnia and Romania. In September 2019, Panther Albania sh.p.k. was founded for the production of uppers. Constant research onto increasingly sophisticated technologies and state-of-the-art materials has led the company to develop the new Safe Knit line with Anatomical Shape, where standing out in particular is the Le Mans Top S3 ESD SRC DGUV 112-191.

Unlike removable insoles, the anatomical shape remains unaltered for the entire lifetime of the shoe, while also guaranteeing maximum comfort.

Le Mans Top also includes a polyester fabric upper with jacquard workmanship, which is not only resistant to cutting, abrasion, and tearing, but is also snag-free, waterproof, and breathable, with rapid ATOP fastening system. The Power Cap toe-cap in multi-layered fiberglass and rubber particulate, with the ability to absorb impacts up to 200 joules, is metal-free and athermic, helping to maintain a constant body temperature.

This allows for complete safety even at extreme temperatures, both above and below zero, allowing for better thermal insulation than traditional aluminium or steel toe-caps. The model is fitted with an ABS COMPOSHANK anti-torsion system that improves stability on ladders, where foot support is not complete; and SILVER STRIP DISCHARGE (SSD), an antistatic device that guarantees a level of safety superior to standard devices, while increasing the electrostatic discharge capability for the entire lifetime of the shoe.

L’ABBIGLIAMENTO AFFIANCA LE CALZATURE

Forte della sua lunga esperienza a fianco dei piloti di F1 e rally, Sparco ha presentato ad A+A la sua nuova linea completa di abbigliamento, che richiama nel design e nelle prestazioni i risultati raggiunti nel mondo delle competizioni, e che va ad affiancare la già affermata linea di calzature antinfortunistiche.

parco Teamwork è il marchio con cui l’azienda Sparco, leader nel settore Motorsport per quanto riguarda l’abbigliamento e l’equipaggiamento racing, si propone nel mercato dei prodotti di sicurezza sul lavoro. L’azienda torinese ha cercato di proporre prodotti che non solo richiamassero il mondo delle competizioni, ma che nascessero direttamente dall’esperienza maturata su uno dei campi più difficili in termini di sicurezza e risultati. Una gamma completa che comprende tre modelli di pantaloni, due gilet, un soft-shell, una felpa full zip, un windstopper, una polo e una T-shirt, oltre alle calzature, dove Sparco gode già di una solida posizione sul mercato. Nei pantaloni, ad esempio, i “Boston” sono dei cargo multi-tasca in cotone ed elastane, mentre il “Denver” è un jeans 5 tasche in vero Denim. Nell’ambito dei gilet, il “Paramount” è proposto con fodera in pile, mentre il “Riverside” è reversibile a “doppio uso” con certificazione per l’alta visibilità (CAT.2), entrambi dotati di zip spalmate con puller gommati e un rimando racing nel tessuto dal design quadrettato.

Per quanto riguarda invece la calzatura, Sparco presenta tra i prodotti di punta la nuova linea CUP S1P, che rafforza il concetto di leggerezza e massimo comfort della linea LIGHT di Sparco Teamwork. La tomaia è in tessuto a maglia jacquard ultra-traspirante, con rinforzo protettivo in materiale spalmato sulla punta, e la suola montata è in EVA- GOMMA ultraleggera, antistatica e resistente a oli e idrocarburi. C’è poi la Legend, sviluppata sulla nuova suola Sparco Motiongrip in PU a doppia densità con specifica ESD e caratterizzata dalla particolare tomaia “a calzino”con lavorazioni ad alta frequenza, rinforzi micro-iniettati sulla punta e sul collare lacci, e un inserto in microfibra ad alta resistenza sul tallone. Il puntale che sopporta fino a 200J è in vera fibra di carbonio.

Strong from its long-time experience alongside F1 and rally pilots, at A+A, Sparco presented its new complete line of apparel, which recalls in its design and performance the results achieved in the world of racing competitions, while flanking the brand’s previously established line of safety footwear.

Sparco Teamwork is the brand with which Sparco, leader in the Motorsport sector for apparel and equipment dedicated to racing, proposes itself to the market of safety products for the workplace.

The company from Turin has done its best to propose not only products that recall the world of racing, but that also arrive directly from the experience it has matured in what is one of the most difficult fields in terms of safety and results.

A complete range that includes three trouser models, two vests, a soft shell, a full zip sweatshirt, a windstopper, a polo and a T-shirt, in addition to footwear, where Sparco already enjoys a solid market position. The trousers include “Boston”, a multiple pocket pair of cargo pants in cotton and elastane, while “Denver” is a five-pocketed pair of jeans in genuine Demin.

The upper is in ultra-breathable knit jacquard fabric with protective reinforcement offered by the coated material on the toes, and an ultralight, antistatic EVA-RUBBER sole that is resistant to oils and hydrocarbons. There is then Legend, developed on the new dual-density PU Sparco Motiongrip sole with specific ESD properties, characterised by a special “sock” upper with high frequency processing, micro-injected reinforcements on the toes and collar laces, and an insert in high strength microfiber on the heel.

The toe-cap supports impacts up to 200J and is made from genuine carbon fibre.

Scan&Fit, 4x4 e Oxford sono alcune delle maggiori novità che l’azienda di Barletta ha presentato in Germania alla scorsa edizione di A+A, sempre all’insegna di una sicurezza a pieno confort.

l design al servizio della bellezza, la tecnologia al servizio della sicurezza, le mani al servizio dei piedi: tre linee-guida che da oltre 10 anni contraddistinguono Base Protection nel panorama delle calzature antinfortunistiche.

Ne sono state una conferma le numerose novità presentate dall’azienda di Barletta alla scorsa A+A, a cominciare da Scan&Fit, l’innovativo sistema che permette di procedere al proprio feet scan attraverso lo scanner o la APP apposita di prossima release, consentendo ai clienti una personalizzazione del proprio modello in termini di utilizzo e

sicurezza certificata. Attraverso un modello matematico basato su un enorme database di scansioni 3D e una ricostruzione 3D sviluppata dall’Istituto di Biomeccanica (IBV), è così possibile identificare forma, numerazione, fit e persino la soletta Base ideale per un certo tipo di piede, così da creare una calzatura quanto più possibile personalizzata.

Le solette Base sono state, tra l’altro, sviluppate in collaborazione con l’Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli di Bologna per garantire il massino confort.

Un’altra importante novità presentata in fiera è stata la tecnologia 4x4, che combina solidità e

leggerezza per offrire comfort, durata e resistenza agli stress. Questo grazie ad una speciale suola realizzata con un compound a bassa densità che riduce il peso della calzatura, pur mantenendo le performance tipiche delle suole a doppia densità in termini di massima resistenza alle curvature, all’abrasione e agli strappi. Ricordiamo, infine, la nuova linea di calzature per i manager Oxford, il cui design elegante, ispirato alle dressed shoes, è reso possibile dall’impiego dell’innovativo puntale SpaceCap in composito, che permette di mantenere un’estetica accattivante all’esterno, pur nel rispetto degli standard di protezione EN ISO 20345 e EN 22568.

Design at the service of beauty, technology at the service of safety, hands at the service of feet: three guidelines that for over 10 years have made Base Protection stand out on the panorama of safety footwear. The numerous novelties presented by this company from Barletta at the last edition of A+A were proof of this, starting from Scan&Fit, the innovative system that allows you to scan your own feet through the scanner or designated APP that is soon to be released, allowing customers to personalise their model in terms of use and certified safety.

Through a mathematical model based on an enormous database of 3D scans and a 3D reconstruction developed by the Biomechanical Institute - Istituto di Biomeccanica (IBV), it is possible to identify the shape, size, fit and even the ideal Base insole for every foot type, allowing for the creation of footwear that is as personal as possible.

Base insoles are developed in collaboration with the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute in Bologna, thus guaranteeing maximum comfort.

Another brand new innovation presented at the fair was 4x4 technology, which combines solidity and lightness for the very best comfort, durability, and resistance to stress. Thanks to a special sole made from a low-density compound, the weight of the shoe is reduced, while maintaining the same performance typical of dual-density soles in terms of maximum resistance to bending, abrasion, and tearing.

Finally, there is the new safety footwear line for Oxford managers, with elegant lines also suited to men’s suits. The design, inspired by dress shoes, is made possible by the use of an innovative SpaceCap composite toe-cap, which allows for a striking look externally, while respecting EN ISO 20345 and EN 22568 protection standards.

Su alcuni modelli sono presenti rinforzi strutturali in KPU sulla tomaia per migliorarne la resistenza meccanica e il sostegno, senza pregiudicare la traspirabilità. L’effetto responsive dell’intersuola in EVA viene accentuato dal sottopiede in memory foam, che garantisce una camminata estremamente confortevole ed un un’ammortizzazione del peso corporeo eccellente. La stabilità nella zona del tallone è, inoltre, garantita dalla presenza di un sostegno posteriore anti-torsione in TPU, materiale utilizzato anche per il puntalino antiurto frontale. Altre caratteristiche sono: occhielli

che al momento dell’iniezione della schiuma poliuretanica resta intrappolato all’interno del materiale sotto forma di bolle d’aria. Quindi, se da un lato la presenza delle bolle è uno dei tratti essenziali che garantiscono un prodotto performante, dall’altro vengono percepite come un difetto.

La sfida: renderle meno evidenti sulla superficie della suola. “Per farlo, è necessario in fase di progettazione uno studio ampio e approfondito della bava” ribadisce Giorgio Zago. Tutto qui? “No, risponde sorridendo, il resto è maestria e saper fare aziendale”.

Come e perché durante il processo di iniezione del poliuretano si formano le bolle, lo ha chiarito metaforicamente Elio Zago, pioniere nell’impiego del poliuretano nel settore degli stampi per l’industria calzaturiera. La similitudine calza - è proprio il caso di dirlo – perfettamente. La lunga strada che separava allora il modello in argilla dalla maestosa opera di bronzo è la stessa che oggi percorre uno stampo prodotto nello stabilimento della Zago Moulds Solutions: una strada di ricerca, studio e dedizione, che per gli stampi Zago è stata lastricata a regola d’arte dall’esperienza di due generazioni e di più di sessant’anni di storia.

"We are like the sculptors who shaped bronze statues five hundred years ago" begins Elio Zago, founder of Zago Moulds Solutions, a historic company of footwear moulds from Vigorovea, Sant'Angelo di Piove, in the province of Padua.

"Knowing how to create the best conditions to keep the air inside the material and to expel the air trapped on the edges of the mould: this is the essence of today's mould maker's work", echoes Giorgio Zago, son of the founder and current CEO of the company.

It is all about burrs and bubbles. Two generations with over 60 years of experience sum up the challenge of the mould industry in the third millennium with these two words. They agree: "They make the difference in the footwear sector. Full stop."

If they say so, you have to believe it. They are among the most important producers of footwear moulds in the world as their mould production for the footwear industry is exported worldwide: 50% on the European market, 30% in the rest of the world and 20% in Italy. Footwear is a vast and constantly evolving industrial sector.

New ideas are born, developed and implemented every day. Who is part of this industry sticks to few good parameters that can be summed up with: high-quality products. Only in this way can the footwear manufacturer guarantee customer satisfaction: they will enjoy a healthy, safe and comfortable walk. Wherever they are: at work, in the mountains, on the street or in a sports arena.

Giorgio Zago knows it very well. He represents the

second generation at the helm of the company that has been creating and producing moulds since 1958: * SAFETY - for professional footwear used in professional contexts that require a high degree of foot protection (construction sites, engineering and metallurgic industry, mining industry, oil platforms, military industry, army) * TREKKING - for footwear designed for hiking on rough surfaces * CASUAL - for shoes made for urban contexts * OUTDOOR - for technical footwear designed for outdoor sports whose design focuses more on stability, cushioning, adherence to the ground and waterproofness Over more than 60 years, Zago Moulds Solutions has specialized in producing moulds for direct injection of polyurethanes, which is still the core business of the company. Isn't polyurethane a more expensive raw material than rubber and PVC, though? "Of course - explains the current CEO, Giorgio Zago - but it is lighter and more comfortable, and these are two essential features when producing high-quality footwear."

Polyurethane is a versatile material. It provides footwear with excellent properties. One of these is allowing the final product to weigh very little.

Polyurethane is indeed among the lightest materials used to produce soles - second only to EVA. At the molecular level, the reduced weight is due to the gas that remains trapped inside the material in the form of air bubbles, when injecting the polyurethane foam. So, on the one hand, bubbles are one of the essential features that guarantee a performing product, on the other hand, they are perceived as a defect. The challenge: making them less noticeable on the sole’s surface.

"To do this, a broad and in-depth study of the flash in the design phase is necessary", emphasizes Giorgio Zago. Is that all? "No, he answers with a smile, the rest is mastery and company know-how". Which is an elegant way of changing topic. Elio Zago explained metaphorically how and why bubbles are formed when polyurethane is injected. As regards the footwear industry, he is a pioneer in the use of polyurethane for moulds.

The similarity fits - it is appropriate to say - perfectly. The long road that used to separate the clay model from the majestic bronze statue is the same that today a mould produced in Zago Moulds Solutions plant has to follow: research, study and dedication. For Zago Moulds, this road has been paved flawlessly by the experience of two generations and over sixty years of history.

Tra i fili poliesteri, usati per la punta della calzatura, ESSEBI ha in catalogo, ad esempio, un termoplastico destinato alle calzature di alta qualità, un filo molto morbido e flessibile; altri gradi, invece, si utilizzano soprattutto per le calzature di sicurezza, dove si privilegia maggiormente la rapidità produttiva.

Tra i fili poliammidici, invece, offre un prodotto standard, usato per il montaggio dei fianchi e per la parte posteriore (boetta), mentre per le macchine di ultima generazione, dotate di tracciatori, è stato sviluppato un prodotto specifico e altamente performante.

ome potrebbe essere la scarpa di sicurezza del futuro? Secondo BASF: comoda, stabile e sicura, affascinante e sostenibile.

Dopo aver annunciato a luglio importanti investimenti in ricerca e sviluppo nel comparto calzature, BASF ha presentato ‘Limitless’, un nuovo concept virtuale di scarpa, allo scopo di mettere in evidenza le varie innovazioni sui materiali che l’azienda tedesca è in grado di offrire per il segmento. In collaborazione con i-generator, una società di consulenza per la progettazione di calzature con sede a Portland (Stati Uniti), BASF ha completamente trasformato la scarpa di sicurezza utilizzando un concetto audace e fissando allo stesso tempo standard di comfort, flessibilità nel design, ammortizzazione, leggerezza e durata.

In primis attraverso un design senza lacci. Poiché, infatti, inciampi e cadute sono le principali cause di incidenti sul lavoro, i lacci vengono rimossi già in fase di progettazione per migliorare la sicurezza dei lavoratori. Inoltre, un design chiuso e senza lacci offre una migliore protezione dagli schizzi e consente agli utenti di scivola-

re dentro e fuori dalle scarpe più velocemente.

Per realizzare la visione di una scarpa di sicurezza senza lacci una tomaia in maglia realizzata con fibra Freeflex® è combinata con un rivestimento protettivo in Haptex®, il materiale premium senza solventi di BASF. Speciali rinforzi in Freeflex® aggiungono ulteriore stabilità e maggiore resistenza all'abrasione.

Le tecnologie innovative di BASF hanno inoltre consentito di dotare la scarpa del primo puntale trasparente del settore, realizzato in Elastollan®.

Un’alternativa al puntale in metallo mai vista prima, che attira l’attenzione e apre a possibilità di design completamente nuove per il settore delle calzature di sicurezza. Oltre a consentire di ottenere una calzatura più leggera, più agile e allo stesso tempo completamente protetta e conforme agli standard di sicurezza.

Per ridurre l'affaticamento dei lavoratori, BASF ha utilizzato, per tallone e intersuola, Infinergy®, una schiuma con proprietà di ammortizzazione ed elasticità uniche. According to BASF: comfortable, stable and safe, fascinating and sustainable.

After announcing major investments in research and development in the footwear sector in July, BASF presented 'Limitless', a new virtual shoe concept, in order to highlight the various innovations on materials that the German company is able to offer for the footwear segment. Teaming up with igenerator, a footwear design consulting firm headquartered in Portland (U.S.), BASF completely transformed the safety shoe with a bold concept, at the same time setting standards in comfort, design flexibility, lightweight, cushioning and durability.

First of all through lace-less designs. Since trips and falls are major causes of workplace accidents, laces are removed already in the design phase to improve workers’ safety. Moreover, a closed, laceless design offers better protection from spills and allows users to slip in and out of their shoes faster.

To realise the vision of a safety shoe without laces, a knitted upper made from Freeflex® fibre is combined with a protective overlay made from Haptex®, BASF’s premium solvent-free material. Special bands engineered from Freeflex® add further stabil-

ity and enhanced abrasion resistance.

BASF’s innovative technologies also enabled the industry’s first transparent toe cap made from Elastollan®. This never-before-seen alternative to a metal toe cap offers completely new design possibilities to the safety footwear industry. It also means a lighter, more agile wearing experience while at the same time fully protected and meeting safety standards.

To reduce workers’ fatigue, BASF used Infinergy®, a particle foam that has unique spring and cushioning properties in the heel and the midsole of the shoe. The midsole, in particular, is lightweight with exceptional resilience and durability. In addition, the outsole insert made from Elastollan® provides good grip and abrasion resistance.

L’azienda di Arnedo (La Rioja) ha presentato alla scorsa edizione di A+A molte novità di grande interesse, a cominciare da un’esclusiva mondiale, gli stivali antincendio in tessuto PBI, che offrono alta protezione, confort e leggerezza. Tra le novità anche gli stivali da uniforme con tecnologia Gore-Tex Surround e la linea Sneaker.

ll’appuntamento con la grande fiera della sicurezza di Dusseldorf, Fal Seguridad si è presentata con novità importanti, prima fra tutte gli innovativi stivali antincendio Volcano e Volcano Boa in tessuto PBI, resistenti al fuoco e alle alte temperature, ma anche impermeabili, leggeri e traspiranti. Il PBI è, infatti, un tessuto progettato per il salvataggio e il fuoco che offre leggerezza, ma allo stesso tempo un'elevata resistenza alla trazione (più di 100 k di resistenza allo strappo iniziale, il doppio rispetto a qualsiasi altro rivestimento esterno) e un’ottima protezione da calore e fiamme, tanto che in molte aree ha performance migliori rispetto alle alternative più pesanti. Oltre al tes-

suto PBI, questi stivali incorporano la membrana Gore-Tex CrossTech, impermeabile, traspirante e resistente a sangue, fluidi corporei e vari agenti chimici liquidi. Essendo, inoltre, meno rigidi di quelli tradizionali e grazie al design ergonomico, gli stivali Volcano offrono una maggiore facilità di movimento, un aspetto di vitale importanza nelle operazioni di fuoco e salvataggio. Altre caratteristiche da sottolineare sono una suola antistatica bicolore in gomma poliuretanica-nitrile antiscivolo, resistente al calore e alle fiamme; un puntale non metallico Vincap, in grado di resistere ad un impatto fino a 200 joule; una lamina antiperforazione tessile più resistente dell'acciaio, in grado di resistere alle fiamme e alle alte temperature,

proteggendo da rischi termici fino a 400 gradi.

Il modello Volcano Boa incorpora, inoltre, il sistema di chiusura BOA, che permette una chiusura veloce e una perfetta aderenza al piede grazie all’assenza di stringhe, riducendo i rischi di incidenti accidentali legati all’apertura improvvisa dello stivale, alla possibilità di rimanere impigliati con i lacci ecc..

Un'altra importante novità presentata sono stati gli stivali da uniforme realizzati con l'innovativa tecnologia Gore-Tex Surround, che offre un’impermeabilità duratura ma al contempo un’elevata traspirabilità. La suola esterna è in gomma Vibram® Fuga con mescola megagrip.

Infine, Fal Seguridad ha presentato tra le novità la sua linea di calzature da lavoro Sneaker, dal design accattivante e con colori vivaci, capace di unire performance ed estetica. La tomaia è in tessuto a rete e microfibra, materiali particolarmente traspiranti, mentre il puntale non metallico Vincap e la soletta antiperforazione in tessuto garantiscono un’elevata leggerezza oltre che protezione. Tutti i modelli della linea Sneaker sono conformi alla normativa EN ISO 20345: 2011, S3 + SRC + CI. La suola in poliuretano a doppia densità soddisfa, infatti, i requisiti delle normative vigenti, compresa la resistenza allo scivolamento su piastrelle e acciaio (SRC) e la resistenza agli idrocarburi. I due strati della suola - uno compatto con rilievi pronunciati per aumentare la presa dello stivale e il suo drenaggio, e un altro in poliuretano schiumato che offre comfort al piede -, evitano l'affaticamento muscolare e le vibrazioni e assorbono l’energia nel tallone, per prevenire micro-lesioni alle articolazioni e danni muscolari. Si tratta, infine, di calzature e stivali ESD, il cui materiale e struttura consentono alle cariche elettrostatiche di dissiparsi, e sono privi di componenti metallici.

INNOVATIVE FIREFIGHTER BOOTS IN FABRIC

At the last edition of A+A, the company from Arnedo (La Rioja) presented many new products of great interest, starting from a worldwide premiere showing of fire-resistant boots in PBI fabric, offering protection, comfort, and lightness. Other new proposals included uniform boots with Gore-Tex Surround technology and the Sneaker line.

At its rendezvous with the great safety fair in Dusseldorf, Fal Seguridad presented itself with important new products, including first and foremost the innovative Volcano and Volcano Boa firefighting boots in PBI fabric, which are resistant to fire and high temperatures, but also waterproof, lightweight and breathable. PBI is in fact a fabric designed for emergency rescues and fighting fires, offering lightness, but also a high resistance to traction (more than 100kgs of resistance to initial tearing, which is double that of any other external covering) and the very best protection from heat and flames, to the extent that in many areas its performance is better than heavier alternatives.

In addition to PBI fabric, these boots incorporate a Gore-Tex CrossTech membrane, which is waterproof, breathable and resistant to penetration by blood, body fluids, and various liquid chemical agents. Since it is also less rigid than traditional boots, with an ergonomic design, Volcano boots offer greater ease of movement, which is of vital performance in fire and rescue operations. Other features include an antistatic two-tone sole in anti-slip polyurethane-nitrile rubber, which is resistant to heat and flames; a Vincap non-metallic toe-cap capable of withstanding impacts of up to 200 joules; an anti-perforation fabric midplate with greater resistance than steel, capable of resisting flames and high temperatures, while protecting from thermal risks of up to 400 degrees. The Volcano Boa model in particular includes a BOA fastening system, which allows for quick fastening and perfect adherence to the foot thanks to an absence of laces, reduc-

ing the risk of possible accidents caused by the boot unexpectedly opening up or the laces being snagged on something. Another brand new proposal is the uniform boot made using innovative Gore-Tex Surround technology, which offers longlasting water resistance, while also ensuring a high degree of breathability. The Patrol Low shoe and Patrol High boot are in fact 100% breathable, thanks to the midsole in perforated phylon, which allows sweat and excess heat to be released, and Gore-Tex lamé located under the sole of the foot and on the side openings of the sole. The outer part of the sole is in Vibram® Fuga rubber with mega-grip compound. Finally, Fal Seguridad presented its brand new line of workwear Sneakers, with a striking design and bold colours, capably combining performance with an attractive look.

The upper is in mesh fabric and microfiber, materials that are especially breathable, while the Vincap non-metallic toe-cap and anti-perforation insole in fabric guarantee a high degree of lightness as well as protection. All the models of the Sneaker line comply with the EN ISO 20345: 2011, S3 + SRC + CI safety standard. In fact, the dual density polyurethane sole satisfies the requirements of current legislation, including slip-resistance on tiles and steel (SRC) and resistance to hydrocarbons. The two layers of the sole – one compact with pronounced indentations for increasing the grip of the boot and improving its drainage, and the other in polyurethane foam that offers comfort to the foot-, help avoid muscular fatigue and vibrations, while absorbing energy in the heel, thus preventing micro-traumas in the joints and muscular injuries. Finally, these shoes and boots are completely metal-free and ESD, with materials and structures that allow for electrostatic discharges.

ealizzata con la tecnologia PLUS2 (brevetto Stemma s.r.l.) e l’impiego di un battistrada in gomma Michelin, il nuovo prodotto è stato molto apprezzato per il design accattivante e le notevoli performances tecniche.

Grazie infatti alla combinazione di 3 materiali a diverse densità, la suola garantisce elevata resistenza allo scivolamento, confort e assoluta stabilità.

Fornito di serie sulle nuove macchine per iniezione diretta Stemma, il sistema PLUS2 per lo stampaggio diretto a 3 densità si sta imponendo per: • la grande versatilità produttiva che permette di ampliare la gamma di prodotti realizzabili mediante iniezione diretta con sempre nuove soluzioni tecniche di prodotto, • l’elevata efficienza che consente di produrre calzature con suola a 3 densità mantenendo lo stesso ritmo produttivo di un tradizionale processo bi-densità, • l’assoluta flessibilità che permette di combinare le tradizionali produzioni in bi-densità con quella dei nuovi modelli a 3-densità, senza dover modificare la configurazione dell’impianto.

La linea “Arrow – Soles By Michelin” verrà prodotta a partire da febbraio 2020 nello stabilimento Garsport di Husi (Vaslui, Romania) con un nuovo impianto Stemma a 30 stazioni completamente automatizzato. Con questa nuova linea di calzature da lavoro, Garsport conferma la propria vocazione di azienda innovativa, sempre ben ancorata, però, alla grande tradizione calzaturiera Montebellunese.

Made with PLUS2 technology (Stemma s.r.l. patent) and the use of a Michelin rubber tread, the new product has been highly appreciated for its attractive design and remarkable technical performances. Thanks to the combination of three materials in different densities, the sole ensures high slip resistance, comfort and absolute stability.

Supplied as standard on the new Stemma direct injection machines, the PLUS2 system for direct threedensity moulding is having a great success due to: • the great production versatility that allows to expand the product range that can be pro-

duced by direct injection with always new technical product solutions, • the high efficiency that allows to produce footwear with a three-density sole while maintaining the same production rate as a traditional bi-density process, • the absolute flexibility that allows to combine traditional bi-density production with that of the new three-density models, without having to change the configuration of the system.

The “Arrow - Soles By Michelin” line will be produced from February 2020 in the Garsport factory in Husi (Vaslui, Romania) with a new fully automatic 30-station Stemma plant. With this new line of safety footwear, Garsport confirms its vocation as an innovative company, well anchored, however, to the great footwear tradition of Montebelluna.

TECNOLOGIA E ACCESSORI AD A+A Prosegue il trend positivo per la calzatura di sicurezza, come testimoniato anche dalla soddisfazione delle aziende di tecnologia, componenti e accessori presenti alla fiera di Dusseldorf Fra i primi a rilevare il buon andamento del comparto il produttore di tecnologia per lo stampaggio Desma che si è detto molto soddisfatto: “Il settore sicurezza continua a crescere, come anche lo sport. Stiamo notando un piccolo calo degli investimenti in Cina, che pensiamo diventerà sempre più un Paese importatore più che produttore».

Anche per Frasson (suole) l’esperienza ad A+A è positiva: “È un appuntamento stimolante per contatti e per la voglia di investire dei produttori di calzature”.

Sulla tenuta del comparto, con qualche riserva, si pronuncia anche Hawai Italia, rinomato produttore di accessori metallici, sia tecnici che per il mondo fashion: “Senza dubbio il settore sicurezza tiene meglio di altri, ma anch’esso risente del rallentamento globale. Per conservare il posizionamento di mercato bisogna continuare a innovare. Come abbiamo fatto noi proponendo un occhiello in materiale composito che ottimizza la produzione e permette un’ampia personalizzazione del design, oltre al nostro passa-laccio in materiale tutto plastico, migliorato sia nella forma che nell’applicazione, ora più facile e resistente”.

E di innovazione si parla anche da Gruppo Meccaniche Luciani

(stampi, fustelle e utensili tecnici): “Continuiamo a investire, anche sul nostro Lab la cui mission è la ricerca, visto che i clienti del settore sicurezza ci chiedono nuove idee e nuovi sviluppi. Il mondo safety sta puntando molto su innovazione e comfort (aspetto non così scontato qualche anno fa). Crediamo tantissimo nella crescita di questo settore, in cui operiamo da anni, e con cui è bello collaborare: ha tem-

pi di sviluppo più lunghi e, perciò, si possono portare avanti progetti più ambiziosi e interessanti”.

Main Group riporta, invece, l’attenzione sulle esigenze del comparto: “Bisogna dare al cliente quello che desidera: comfort, leggerezza e attenzione all’estetica. Se, un tempo, la scarpa di sicurezza era vissuta come un acquisto necessario ma mal digerito, oggi c’è chi è disposto a investire i propri soldi per comprarsi

un modello più comodo e indossabile anche al di fuori del posto di lavoro. La fiera? Molto soddisfatti”.

Più cauti sull’andamento del mercato Gusbi: “Una buona fiera con qualche nuovo contatto, anche se si avverte un lieve calo negli ordini di macchine per il settore sicurezza, che rimane comunque un segmento molto interessante” e Coim: “Stiamo lavorando bene e il settore pare stabile… è già un ottimo segnale”.

TECHNOLOGY AND ACCESSORIES AT THE A+A FAIR The positive trend for safety footwear continues, as evidenced by the satisfaction of the companies of technology, components and accessories present at the Dusseldorf fair Desma, moulding technology manufacturer, was one of the first companies to report the good performance of the sector, that stated to be very satisfied: “The safety as well as the sport sector continue to grow. In China we are noticing a small drop in investment, which we think will increasingly become an importing rather than a producing country». The experience at the A+A is also positive for Frasson (soles): “It is a stimulating appointment to get new contacts and for the shoe manufacturers’ desire to make investments”.

Hawai Italia, a renowned manufacturer of metal accessories, for both the technical sector and the fashion world, declared with some reservations about the sector’s solid performance: “Without a doubt the safety sector holds up better than others, but it also suffers from the global slowdown. In order to maintain the market position we must continue to innovate. As we have done by proposing an eyelet in composite material that optimises production and allows a wide customisation of the design, in addition to our all-plastic speed laces, improved both in 78

form and application, which are now easier and more resistant”.

And of innovation also speaks Gruppo Meccaniche Luciani (moulds, cutting dies and technical tools): “We continue investing also in our Lab, whose mission is research, since customers in the safety sector ask us for new ideas and new developments. The safety world is highly focused on innovation and comfort (not so obvious a few years ago). We strongly believe in the growth of this sector, in which we have been operating for years, also because it is nice to work with: it has longer development times and, therefore, more ambitious and interesting projects can be carried out”.

Main Group, on the other hand, focuses on the needs of the sector: “The customer must be given what he wants: comfort, lightness and attention to aesthetics. If, once, the safety shoe was experienced as a necessary but poorly digested purchase, today there are those who are willing to invest their money to buy a more comfortable and wearable model even outside the workplace. The fair? We are very satisfied”.

Gusbi is a little more cautious on the market trend: “A good fair with some new contacts, even if there is a slight drop in the orders of machines for the safety sector, which however remains a very interesting segment” and Coim: “We are working well and the sector seems stable... which is already a good sign”.

UP SOLE DOWN CONCEPT > Questa suola è un concetto audace sviluppato per raggiungere i migliori livelli di aderenza, comfort e assorbimento degli urti. I ricercatori e tecnici Aloft hanno studiato a fondo i progetti acustici utilizzati da architetti e ingegneri per massimizzare l'assorbimento del rumore e ridurre i riflessi delle onde sonore e la loro ampiezza e hanno pensato: “Se funziona con il suono, potrebbe funzionare con il suolo!”.

Ispirati da quelle belle linee geometriche, con forme curve e arrotondate, con cavità e protuberanze, hanno ottenuto qualcosa di unico. Una suola "innovativa", in cui diversi tipi di tacchetti hanno caratteristiche specifiche. Alcuni funzionano come artigli, altri come ventose e alcuni sono semplicemente di sostegno. Il prodotto finale si adatta a diversi tipi di superficie e aderisce anche al terreno più scivoloso.

GLOW IN THE DARK > Un pigmento che Aloft ha sviluppato per essere applicato agli stivali in cui il fattore di sicurezza e design sono essenziali.

Come suggerisce il nome, è un pigmento che, dopo essersi caricato naturalmente attraverso la luce solare, reagisce alla scarsa luminosità emettendo luce. I pigmenti utilizzati sono drasticamente diversi da quelli fosforescenti convenzionali perché brillano praticamente tutta la notte senza l'ausilio di alcuna sostanza radioattiva. È la soluzione ideale per tutti i professionisti che lavorano di notte o in condizioni di scarsa illuminazione, come miniere o tunnel.

THERMO PIGMENT HOT FORMULA > Questo pigmento è stato sviluppato da Aloft per reagire

alle alte temperature e cambiare colore. È applicabile a calzature realizzate in materiale termoplastico e offre all’utente una sicurezza in più avvertendolo quando dovesse trovarsi in condizioni di calore estremo che potrebbe intaccare l’incolumità del materiale con cui le calzature sono realizzate. È una soluzione ideale da incorporare in vari tipi di stivali e per varie professioni, come i vigili del fuoco, il personale militare, i professionisti della fonderia o altri lavoratori esposti a temperature elevate.

THERMO PIGMENT ICE FORMULA > Segue la stessa logica del ritrovato precedente, ma per situazioni di freddo estremo. Pertanto, al di sotto del terzo negativo, questo materiale cambia colore, dal grigio al blu, avvisando l'utente del rischio che la qualità delle scarpe inizi a deteriorarsi. Right at the A+A fair the company presented some interesting and functional innovations for the world of safety footwear.

UP SOLE DOWN CONCEPT > This sole is a bold concept developed to achieve the best levels of grip, comfort and shock absorption. Aloft developers and technicians explored the acoustic designs that architects and engineers use to maximise the absorption of noise and reduce the sound wave reflections and thought: “If it works with sound, it may work with the ground!”. Inspired by those beautiful geometric lines, with curved and rounded shapes and their up and downs they obtained something unique. An “innovative” sole design, where different kinds of cleats have specific features. Some work as claws, others like suction cups and some are simply plain. The final product fits to different levels of surface, clings even to the slipperiest ground and offers a perfect floor touch.

GLOW IN THE DARK > A pigment that Aloft has developed to be applied to boots where safety and design are key factors. As its name implies, it is a pigment that, after being charged naturally through sunlight, reacts to low light emitting light and brightness. The pigments used are drastically different from conventional phosphorescent ones because they glow practically all night long without the aid of any radioactive substance.

It is an ideal solution for any professional who works at night or in low light conditions, such as mines or tunnels.

THERMO PIGMENT HOT FORMULA > This pigment was developed by ALOFT to react to high temperatures by changing colour and can be added to thermoplastic shoes. The advantage of this product is the safety it offers to its user, as it alerts them to the fact that they are in conditions of extreme heat from which the material of their shoes can start to be damaged.

It is an ideal solution to be incorporated into various types of boots and professions, such as firefighters, military personnel, foundry professionals or other workers who are exposed to high temperature conditions.

THERMO PIGMENT ICE FORMULA > This formula was developed following the same previously mentioned logic, but for extreme cold situations. Therefore, below the 3rd negative, this material changes colour, from gray to blue, alerting the user about the risk that the quality of shoes is starting to deteriorate.

This material can be applied to any type of thermoplastic footwear, ideal for trekking boots, mountaineers, winter sports or professionals exposed to intense cold.

Calzature appunto realizzate con tecniche a singola o doppia iniezione diretta di materiali poliuretanici combinati con intersuole o inserti ad alta resilienza e bassa densità; oppure con iniezione diretta di tre materiali dalle specifiche densità; oppure, ancora, con combinazioni di tecniche di poliuretani a spruzzo, poliuretani per colata o a iniezione. Il tutto senza dimenticare la possibilità di utilizzare fondi in gomma o TPU prestampati, ultraleggeri, da abbinare a iniezione o a incollati o alle sopracitate intersuole.

Il settore del safety non ha potuto esimersi dall’utilizzo di tali materiali e ogni produttore di

calzature ha espresso il suo concetto di “ritorno di energia” potendo scegliere sia soluzioni già presenti sul mercato, sia soluzioni ad hoc per i propri clienti, creando prodotti con combinazioni di ammortizzazione specifiche. Sottolineando, così, l’importanza che riveste il controllo della stabilità per un dispositivo di protezione personale qual è la calzatura di sicurezza.

Siamo dunque agli inizi di un’era in cui si assisterà a una maggior flessibilità nel design ed engineering delle calzature, maggiore specializzazione delle scarpe grazie e conseguente creazione di nuove famiglie di prodotti, maggiore scalabilità con materiali destinati a essere ancor più performanti e maggiormente eco-sostenibili.

THE RETURN OF THE THREE DIFFERENT DENSITIES (IN POLYURETHANE)

With APEGO, we retrace past and future of this particular type of sole moulding.

This is not a novelty for the world of footwear that features bottoms in three colours and in three different densities. These items had already made their appearance, in fact, in the 1980s.

What has changed and is destined to change the rules of the game again is due to the moves of the giants of chemistry who, by investing heavily in research and development, have given rise to new formulations of both two-component and thermoplastic, polyurethane materials with characteristics of high resilience and low density.

Basically: greater elasticity. The effect of this innovative push is, first of all, to have allowed the manufacturers of technical shoes - for the running and outdoor world, followed by fashion and luxury companies and, finally, by safety sector (where the most stringent regulations have required ad hoc formulations) - to offer the market footwear with high standards of comfort, lightness, versatility and with an excellent return of energy, for a smoother walk and less fatigue in daily long-term use. Footwear made with single or double direct

injection techniques of polyurethane materials combined with midsoles or inserts with high resilience and low density; or with direct injection of three materials with specific densities; or, again, with combinations of polyurethane techniques as spray, pouring or injection polyurethanes. All this without forgetting the possibility of using ultra-light, pre-printed rubber or TPU bottoms, to be combined with injection or glues or with the aforementioned midsoles.

The safety sector was unable to exempt itself from the use of these materials and each footwear manufacturer expressed its concept of “energy return”, being able to choose both solutions already on the market and ad hoc solutions for its customers, creating products with specific cushionin combinations. Thus, underlining the importance of stability control for a personal protective device such as safety footwear.

We are therefore at the beginning of an era in which there will be higher flexibility in the design and engineering of footwear, a higher level of specialisation on shoes thanks to the consequent creation of new product families, greater scalability with materials destined to be even more performing and eco-friendly.

er partire chiediamo subito ad Ambrogio Merlo, managing director di Michelin suole, come vede evolversi il mondo della calzatura safety dal suo privilegiato osservatorio. “È un settore in cui, negli ultimi 2 anni, si notano notevoli cambiamenti. Se in precedenza pareva un settore capace solo di trarre spunti e stilemi da altri comparti (le sneaker o l’outdoor, per esempio) traducendoli poi in calzature comunque tradizionali, oggi noto proposte originali molto interessanti. Mi sembra un settore che ha acquisito molta creatività e spinta verso l’innovazione. Forse spronato anche dai cambiamenti che stanno avvenendo a valle, presso il consumatore finale. Il concetto ‘devo acquistare una calzatura che rispetti le norme di legge al più basso prezzo possibile’, è quasi del tutto soppiantato dal pensiero di un consumatore più maturo che ha capito che la scarpa da lavoro è uno strumento cruciale della propria vita professionale e quindi deve essere sicura, durevole, ma anche comoda, così da ridurre la fatica. È un consumatore disposto a spendere anche qualche cosa in più. Assistiamo, quindi, a un’evoluzione culturale del mercato e, di conseguenza, anche creativa e innovativa dei produttori.

Michelin ha sviluppato tutti i suoi pneumatici e le sue tecnologie proprio per fornire sicurezza, tenuta e stabilità ai mezzi di trasporto, grazie a mescole e battistrada sempre più performanti. Gli stessi valori che sono richiesti dal mondo della calzatura di sicurezza.

In questo senso ci viene in aiuto la nostra tecnologia Fiberlight - già messa a punto e utilizzata per il mondo outdoor - che rinforza la mescola in gomma con fibre sintetiche, il che ci permette di scendere tantissimo con gli spessori pur mantenendo la stabilità dimensionale della suola. Uno dei nostri prossimi obbiettivi è applicare la stessa tecnologia al mondo della sicurezza.

GARSPORT E MICHELIN ANCORA INSIEME Garsport nasce nel 1972 grazie a due appassionati artigiani che decisero di avviare una piccola azienda di produzione di scarpe da montagna. Oggi è una realtà leader nelle calzature per trekking e sicurezza, anche a marchio proprio. Come la più recente linea di scarpe safety sviluppata, per quanto concerne il battistrada, con Michelin. “È una scarpa iniettata - spiega il designer Luca Feltrin - il cui fondo presenta un design innovativo, pensato per resistere in modo importante allo scivolamento: le ampie scanalature assicurano flessibilità, mentre la distanza tra i blocchi permette un passaggio immediato dell’acqua per un’ottima autopulizia. Il disegno sui bordi garantisce maggiore controllo laterale e più adattabilità. Nella zona posteriore è presente un blocco di sicurezza per il tallone, mentre un angolo specifico è stato progettato per mantenere il piede stabile in determinati momenti, ad esempio quando si salgono le scale. I massicci tasselli nell’area del tallone assicurano durata nel tempo.

Il battistrada presenta una mescola studiata apposta per il mondo anti-infortunistico e quindi antistatica e resistente al calore, a olii, acidi”. La linea prevederà diversi modelli, sia in categoria S1P che S3, anche con taglio mid, oltre alla possibilità di essere dotata sia di lamina anti-perforazione che di puntale in materiale composito tessile, perciò metal-free.

Per i materiali di tomaia saranno disponibili diverse opzioni: dalle microfibre resistenti e idrorepellenti, grazie a particolari procedure di sublimazione, a materiali tradizionali come mesh, nylon e crosta scamosciata, fino a materiali base nylon con intelaiatura ad alta tenacità, molto resistenti all’abrasione. Nubuk e pelle bottalata arricchiranno le versioni più classiche, con tomaie a pezzo unico, senza cuciture, perfette per il mondo dell’edilizia.

“Il primo progetto sviluppato con Michelin è stato la suola heritage del 2015 che prendeva spunto dal battistrada X Cargo Bib. Una linea che si è poi diversificata ed evoluta, nonostante il modello di punta rimanga il Monza S1P, ancora il più venduto a distanza di tre anni dal suo ingresso nel mercato”.

Per Garsport i vantaggi di lavorare con Michelin sono molti: “Intanto la buona affinità di lavoro fra il nostro gruppo e il team Michelin - conclude Luca Feltrin - oltre, ovviamente, all’affidabilità e all’ottima resistenza allo scivolamento delle loro suole. Senza dimenticare la possibilità, utilizzando anche i loro fondi open (quindi non solo quelle sviluppate in esclusiva con noi), di diversificare molto le linee proposte al mercato. On which points are you most working in terms of research and development?

“One of the aspects on which we are focusing a lot is lightness, because comfort is also fundamental for safety shoes, as I have already said. Since the work shoe is worn for many hours, the lighter it is, the less tiring it is to wear it. In this sense, our Fiberlight technology - already developed and used for the outdoor world - helps us to reinforce the rubber compound with synthetic fibers, which allows us to significantly reduce thickness while maintaining the dimensional stability of the sole. One of our next goals is to apply the same technology to the safety world. Furthermore, we are developing a series of technologies that will allow us to build soles with extremely important grip even in extreme winter conditions (or at low temperatures, think of the food industry) while maintaining oil resistance, antistatic properties and even ESD characteristics. These technologies will be revolutionary for certain sectors and will probably see the light at the A+A of 2021”.

GARSPORT AND MICHELIN TOGETHER ONCE AGAIN Garsport was founded in 1972 thanks to two passionate craftsmen who decided to start a small mountain shoe production company. Today it is a leader in trekking and safety footwear, even with its own brand. As is the most recent line of safety shoes whose tread was developed together with Michelin. “It is an injected shoe - explains the designer Luca Feltrin - whose bottom has an innovative design, conceived to withstand slippage in an important way: the large grooves ensure flexibility, while the distance between the blocks allows an immediate passage of the water for an excellent self-cleaning. The design on the edges ensures greater lateral control and more adaptability. The rear area disposes of a safety block for the heel, while a specific angle has been designed to keep the foot stable in certain moments, for example when climbing stairs. The massive wedges in the heel area ensure durability.

The tread features a compound specially designed for the accident prevention world and is therefore antistatic and resistant to heat, oils and acids”.

The line will include different models, both in S1P and S3 categories, also with mid cut, in addition to the possibility of being equipped with both an anti-perforation foil and a metal-free toe cap in textile composite material. Different options will be available for the upper materials: from resistant and water-repellent microfibres, thanks to special sublimation procedures, to traditional materials such as mesh, nylon and suede split, up to nylon base materials with high tenacity frame, very resistant to abrasion. Nubuk and tumbled leather will enrich the more classic versions, with one-piece uppers, without seams, perfect for the construction industry.

“The first project developed with Michelin was the heritage sole in 2015 that was inspired by the X Cargo Bib tread. A line that then diversified and evolved, despite the fact that the top model remains Monza S1P, still bestseller three years after its market entry”.

dedicati al settore della sicurezza.

Freno è realizzato con una schiuma antistatica, con possibilità di trattamento antibatterico, che assorbe e disperde il sudore, mentre nella parte retrostante la speciale stampa garantisce un ottimo grip. Un materiale che supera inoltre la norma EN ISO 20344 (04).

Modelmemory Giga, un materiale termoformabile con una schiuma in memory e un feltro in viscosa, che garantisce un ottimo assorbimento del sudore e il massimo confort, perfetto per chi lavora anche in ambienti freddi.

Clorofilla, studiato per chi lavora in ambienti dove è richiesto un elevato livello di igiene, è realizzato con una schiuma antibatterica che attutisce gli shock e una rete con un’alta resistenza all’abrasione realizzata in nylon.

THE NEW MATERIALS FOR CONDUCTIVE INSOLES

For many years, Siretessile has put bonded technical fabrics for the world of safety footwear and apparel at the centre of its production, dedicating itself to the study and creation of high performance items that reply to the most difficult demands of this constantly growing market.

To reply to the increasingly specific needs of workers operating in environments with a high degree of risk or discomfort, Siretessile studied four new materials for conductive insoles with patents currently pending that are especially suited to ESD footwear. All these products comply with the new safety standard CEI EN 61340-5-1:2016 on the protection of electronic devices from electrostatic phenomena (ESDS).

First is Thanos, designed for those requiring an antibacterial material that is also conductive thanks to silver thread. It is cuttable, anti-odour and with a high resistance to abrasion.

Next is Flash, made from a printed conductive and cuttable fabric, which is ideal for customizing linings with brand logos and for having an antiodour product.

Inject, instead, has been exclusively created for clientele specialised in polyurethane direct injection onto insoles, with the possibility of using different kinds of lining in accordance with the requirements of the customer, who will then produce the end product.

Finally, Thermoform, structured with high-density rubber, is ideal for the production of thermoformable insoles, offering various possibilities for bonding with linings.

Next to these kinds of materials, the Siretessile Research and Development Department maintains

in its collection, which is fine-tuned over time to meet the needs of the market, other kinds of insoles like Freno, Modelmemory and Clorofilla, which are also dedicated to the safety industry.

Freno is made from an antistatic foam, with the possibility of including antibacterial treatment, which absorbs and releases sweat, while underneath the special print guarantees an excellent grip. A material that exceeds the requirements of the EN ISO 20344 (04) standard.

Modelmemory Giga, a thermoformable material with memory foam and viscose felt, which guarantees the highest degree of sweat absorption and maximum comfort, is perfect even for those individuals working in cold environments.

Clorofilla, designed for those who work in environments where a high degree of hygiene is required, is made from an antibacterial foam that absorbs shocks and a mesh with high resistance to abrasion made from nylon.

li ultimi mesi del 2019 si chiudono per il gruppo Mondial con alcune importanti novità. Dopo la decisione di ottobre di inserire all’interno della propria organizzazione un direttore generale, entra nel capitale sociale di Mondial Suole S.p.A., con una quota di minoranza, la Delta S.p.A., affermato player del medesimo settore.

Secondo Gianfranco Doria, socio fondatore e Amministratore Delegato di Mondial Suole, azienda con oltre quaranta anni di storia nella produzione dei Gianfranco Doria fondi per calzature, “la decisione di affidare la direzione del gruppo ad Attilio Mucelli è nata dalla ferma volontà degli azionisti di procedere con una significativa riorganizzazione della struttura societaria e dei processi organizzativi ed industriali, condizione essenziale per continuare a competere con successo sui mercati domestico e internazionali”. L’impegno del direttore generale sarà, innanzitutto, quello di predisporre un piano industriale capace di definire una chiara strategia da perseguire nei prossimi anni. Il piano indicherà la strada per raggiungere un crescente miglioramento delle performance economiche e finanziarie dell’intero gruppo.

“Sul piano operativo – afferma Attilio Mucelli – ci stiamo muovendo con una completa managerializzazione delle funzioni aziendali e con il rinnovamento di tutti i processi interni. For the Mondial group the last months of 2019 end with some important news. After the October decision to insert a general manager within its organisation, Delta S.p.A., an established player in the same sector, enters the share capital of Mondial Suole S.p.A., with a minority share.

According to Gianfranco Doria, founding partner and CEO of Mondial Suole, a company with over forty years of history in the production of shoe bottoms, “the idea to entrust the management of the group to Attilio Mucelli arised from the firm will of the shareholders to proceed with a significant reorganisation of the corporate structure and the organisational and industrial processes, an essential condition for continuing to successfully compete on domestic and international markets”.

The general manager’s commitment, in the first place, will be to prepare an industrial plan capable of defining a clear strategy to be pursued in the coming years. The plan will show the way to achieve a growing improvement in economic and financial performance of the entire group.

“On an operational level - says Attilio Mucelli we are moving with a complete managerialisation of company functions and with the renewal of all internal processes. In particular, the greater organisational commitment is aimed at making the product development phase more effective, making the production process more efficient, streamlining the supply chain and strengthening the commercial action”.

Furthermore, through an initial period of experimentation and active collaboration, the two companies aim to concretely evaluate the opportunity to merge into a single entity to better capture the opportunities that the market offers. In other words, the ultimate goal is to make the company, that will be founded from the merger, extremely interesting to attract the investment of a private equity fund and/or to be listed on the regulated stock market, thus ensuring the future continuation of the economic activity.

According to Luigi Lucentini, reference shareholder of Delta S.p.A., “the acquisition of shares in Mondial Suole S.p.A. must also be read from a propaedeutic perspective as to the entry of new funding sources or to a possible listing on the stock market. The common will is to collaborate in view of a possible merger of the two companies, which would allow to reach both a dimensional level and a degree of efficiency consistent with what the market expects from operators in our sector”.

Attilio Mucelli further highlights that “the basic strategy pursued is that of product differentiation, thanks to the specific skills and specialisations present within the two companies. This will allow customers to always find the right creative proposal for their production needs and for big luxury brand to receive adequate responses to the constant solicitations of their creativity, both on a technical and industrialisation level of the product”.
