M

IRAN perfeziona le tecniche produttive e le spinge al limite, dando vita a prodotti tecnicamente innovativi e dall’accentuata nitidezza stilistica. Nella gamma della collezione che debutta a Lineapelle troviamo accessori per tomaie bi o tri colore, in cui alla vivacità cromatica si accompagnano effetti alternati di lucido/ opaco, finestre di aerazione aperte o retinate, finiture particolarissime con pattern laserati, effetti multicolore in stampa. Non ci sono più limiti alle sovrainiezioni su pelle e tessuti: né dal punto di vista delle dimensioni (da tomaie intere a particolari piccolissimi), né dal punto di vista dei supporti in cui si va ad iniettare il materiale termoplastico.

Le retroiniezioni, invece, permettono di sviluppare “embossing” di grande fascino e con effetti duraturi.

Nella divisione sottopiedi, la principale novità riguarda invece la messa a punto di un nuovo esclusivo materiale viscoelastico con elevati valori di resilienza che permette la realizzazione di soletti ed inserti per le suole con antishock e assorbimento degli urti: il massimo per il confort del piede.

MIRAN perfects its productive techniques, pushing them to the limit, while giving life to technically innovative products with a clear stylistic calling card. In the range of the collection debuting at Lineapelle, we find accessories for two-tone or triple-tone uppers, in which the chromatic vividness is matched with alternating glossy/matte effects, open or mesh windows for aeration, extremely fine finishes with lasered patterns, and multicolour effects on prints.

Plus, there are no more limits when it comes to over-injections on leathers and fabrics: this is true from both a size standpoint (from entire uppers to the smallest details) and in terms of support, where thermoplastic material is injected. Back-injections, instead, allow for embossing of great appeal and with long-lasting effects to be developed.

In the division of insoles, the latest innovation instead regards the development of a new exclusive viscoelastic material with high resilience values that allows for the realization of insoles and inserts for anti-shock soles with impact resistance: state-of-the-art technologies for the foot’s maximum comfort.

A+A SI ALLARgA nELLA HALL1 E AumEnTA L’oFFERTA La fiera più importante per il settore della sicurezza e salute sul lavoro, A+A 2019 sta affilando gli artigli in vista della prossima edizione, dal 5 all’8 novembre 2019 a Düsseldorf, e si prepara ad ospitare una selezione di più di 2.000 aziende.

Una forte crescita, una crescente internazionalità, visitatori specializzati da ogni settore industriale, espositori in crescita così come i visitatori. Con queste premesse quella a cui assisteremo a novembre sarà una edizione davvero speciale di A+A, una edizione che ne ribadirà il ruolo di principale piattaforma per la sicurezza, protezione e salute sul lavoro.

La scorsa edizione a fronte di una selezione di 1.930 aziende ci sono stati oltre 67.000 visitatori, il 47% dei quali stranieri. Numeri importanti che premiano l’offerta di prodotti e servizi, ma anche le opportunità di business e di networking, nonché gli approfondimenti dedicati alle diverse tematiche della sicurezza protagoniste nelle tre macro-aree della manifestazione: Safety at Work (con i PPE, la moda aziendale, tessuti e abbigliamento protettivo, attrezzatura di sicurezza…), Security at Work (protezione

da fuoco, esplosivi, radiazione, elettricità, inquinamento acustico e aereo, protezione ambientale, equipaggiamento e dispositivi…), Health at Work (primo soccorso, prevenzione e terapie, Occupational Health Management, architettura posto del lavoro ed ergonomia…).

Quali saranno le novità della prossima edizione? Prima di tutto ci sarà una selezione ancora più completa di aziende, le adesioni hanno infatti raggiunto quota 2.000, tra old e new entries: “Possiamo dire che A+A 2019 rappresenterà ancora una volta l’intero mondo della salute e della sicurezza a Düsseldorf – commenta Wolfram N, Diener, managing director di Messe Düsseldorf GmbH – saranno in display tutti i nuovi prodotti e le tendenze di settore, sia nazionali che internazionali. A+A sarà anche la prima manifestazione ad occupare la rinnovata e multifun-

Aumentano gli spazi anche per le Operazioni di Sicurezza che si allargheranno anche alla Hall 7”.

Assieme a prodotti e servizi, una parte integrante della manifestazione sarà dedicata all’informazione, alle presentazioni di progetti, come

gli Highlight Route to the Future of Work. E una parte determinante sarà dedicata ai cambiamenti che la digitalizzazione ha apportato all’ambiente del lavoro. Ma si parlerà pure di soluzioni smart per dispositivi di protezione individuale, di nuovi modelli di workplace, di nuove idee per strutture del posto di lavoro, applicazioni digitali, innovativi prototipi, etc…

attività da meno di cinque anni, con un giro d’affari al di sotto dei 5 milioni di euro – annuncia Wolfram N, Diener – Queste aziende, assieme ad una selezione di new entries possono accedere ad un programma di supporto del Ministero degli Affari Economici e dell’Energia tedesco che renderà più facile e meno costoso partecipare ad A+A”.

A+A ospiterà anche il 36.mo Congresso Internazionale sulla sicurezza e protezione, la scorsa edizione dedicato al tema della prevenzione del fuoco.

A+A ExpAnDS In HALL 1, IncREASIng ITS oFFERIng The most important trade fair for safety, security and health at work, A+A 2019, is getting ready to embark on a new adventure with its next edition scheduled from 5 to 8 november 2019 in Düsseldorf, hosting a selection of more than 2,000 exhibitors.

A strong trend of growth, increasingly of international scope, with specialised visitors coming from every industrial sector, and exhibitor and visitor numbers alike on the rise. This is the basis for the November edition of A+A, which will be truly exceptional, highlighting the role of the event as the main platform for occupational safety, protection, and health at work.

The last edition of the event attracted 67,000 visitors, of which 40% were international, together with 1,930 exhibitors. Important numbers that rewarded the offering of products and services, but also provided opportunities for business and networking, as well as for in-depth analyses dedicated to the different safety issues that were the protagonists of the event’s three macro areas: Safety at Work (with its PPE, corporate fashion, protective fabrics and apparel, safety devices…), Security at Work (fire, explosion, radiation, and electrical protection, air pollution control, noise reduction, environmental protection, and safety devices for machinery…), and Health at Work (first aid, prevention and therapies, Occupational Health Management, workplace structures and ergonomics…).

What innovations will the new edition hold in store? First, there will be an even more complete selection of businesses, with the confirmed participation of 2,000 exhibitors including both old and new entries: “We can say that A+A 2019 will once again represent the entire world of corporate health and safety in Düsseldorf – comments Wolfram N, Diener, managing director of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH – On show will be an overview of all the latest products and sector trends, both

nationally and internationally. A+A will also be the first trade show to occupy the renewed and multifunctional Hall 1, accessed via the South Entrance. The new space will be dedicated to the personal protective equipment segment with new and old exhibitors presented in larger spaces than in the past. The Operational Safety area will also expand to include Hall 7”.

In addition to the products and services offered by exhibitors, an important part of the event will be dedicated to information and the presentation of projects, like the Highlight Route to the Future of Work. Another important part will be dedicated to changes in the working environment as a result of digitalisation. However, also on the agenda will be smart solutions for personal protective equipment, new workplace models, new ideas for workplace structures, digital applications, innovative prototypes, etc.…

“For the first time, A+A will host an International Start-Up Zone, which will showcase a selection of companies that have been trading for less than five years, with an annual turnover below 5 million euros – announces Wolfram N, Diener – These businesses, together with a selection of new entries, will be able to access a programme created by the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy that will offer them a simple, inexpensive way of exhibiting at A+A. A+A will also host the 36th International Congress for Occupational Safety and Medicine, with its last edition dedicated to the theme of fire prevention.

A Riva del Garda, dal 12 al 15 gennaio 2019

Expo Riva Schuh: lA pIATTAFoRmA DEllA cAlzATuRA monDIAlE DI volumE Il mondo della calzatura di volume è tornato a darsi appuntamento a Riva del Garda, confermando le attese della vigilia.

Presenti i principali poli produttivi di tutto il mondo, dalla Cina e India che in fiera hanno esposto le loro collezioni all’interno degli spazi dedicati del Fashion Top China e dell’India Hall, al Brasile, Turchia, Spagna, Portogallo… in totale 1.469 aziende, di cui 1.207 da 40 diverse nazioni hanno presentato le collezioni Autunno-Inverno 2019-20 ad un pubblico di 13.mila visitatori di 100 diverse nazionalità. Sono questi ad aver approvato il format della “fiera diffusa”, ovvero il network espositivo di Expo Riva Schuh, Gardabags e degli alberghi rivani con i brand che vogliono un contesto più adatto ad incontri one to one. L’unicità di Expo Riva Schuh è piaciuta anche ai 40 delegati provenienti da Francia, Polonia, Romania, Russia, Ucraina, Ungheria e Croazia protagonisti dell’incoming organizzato in collaborazione con ICE Agenzia e MISE- Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico.

Quella rivana è una fiera agile, snella, pronta ad interpretare le esigenze del mercato e farle proprie: ad Expo Riva schuh non si trova unicamente la proposta di stagione, ma anche il fast fashion e l’istant rivolto all’e-commerce. Ma non basta, con l’offerta di Gardabags si completa il total look sugli accessori affiancando alla scarpa la borsa. All’evento hanno preso parte circa una sessantina di aziende pellettiere da diverse parti di Italia e del mondo, esponendo le collezioni di borse presso il PalaFiere.

Ma Expo Riva Schuh guarda oltre e all’opening talk con il direttore di Riva del Garda FiereCongressi Giovanni Laezza, la giornalista Cinzia Malvini e la blogger Sabrina Musco parla di e-commerce e influencer, della rivoluzione digitale, facendosene interprete. E non trascura i trend del futuro della scarpa raccontando a Gardabags “La borsa dei desideri” con la style coach Carla Gozzi. Una

ospite prestigiosa che ha calamitato l’attenzione di tutte le bag-addicted.

Expo Riva Schuh racconta anche il suo territorio tramite i suoi sapori e profumi, protagonisti nelle Taste Lounge affidate agli chef e sommelier dell’Associazione Cuochi del Trentino.

Pranzi e ristoro alla Buyer’s Lounge al padiglione C4, aperitivi e relax per visitatori e stampa alla Garda Taste del padiglione A1: tra specialità enogastronomiche e degustazioni di vini, parlare di scarpe è un piacere

La formula di Expo Riva Schuh è di nuovo premiante: i buyers e le aziende confermano il perfetto timing della manifestazione, apprezzano l’ambiente di lavoro (e del dopo lavoro), i servizi e la sensibilità degli organizzatori verso i trend mercato. Sempre al passo, Expo Riva Schuh ancora una volta ha segnato un successo.

La prossima edizione di Expo Riva Schuh e Gardabags sarà dal 15 al 18 giugno 2019.

Expo RIvA Schuh, ThE woRlDwIDE plATFoRm oF volumE FooTwEAR The world of volume footwear once again met up in Riva del Garda, confirming the forecasts made on the eve of the event.

Present the most important international production hubs worldwide, from China and India, which exhibited with their collections at the fair in their own special areas of Fashion Top China and the India Hall, to Brazil, Turkey, Spain, and Portugal… a total of 1,469 exhibitors, including 1,207 foreign companies from 40 different nations, presented their Fall/Winter 2019-20 collections to a public of 13 thousand visitors from 100 different nations. This public expressed their approval for the “widespread fair” format, or rather, the exhibition network of Expo Riva Schuh, Gardabags, and the Riva hotels hosting brands looking for a more suitable context for one-to-one meetings. The unique format of Expo Riva Schuh was also well-liked by the 40 delegates coming from France, Poland, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary and Croatia, as the protagonists of the incoming services organised with the support of the ICE Italian Trade Agency and MISE - the Ministry of Economic Development.

The fair of Riva is flexible, streamlined, and ready to interpret the needs of the market, making them its very own: Expo Riva Schuh offers not only the season’s latest proposals, but also fast fashion and e-commerce solutions. However, all this is not enough. With the offer of Gardabags, the total accessory look is completed by bags that are presented in conjunction with the shoe offering. At PalaFiere, around sixty leather goods companies from various parts of Italy and the world exhibited with their collections of bags.

At the same time, Expo Riva Schuh goes beyond the fair itself and the fair’s opening talk, with the Director of Riva del Garda FiereCongressi, Giovanni Laezza, journalist Cinzia Malvini, and blogger Sabrina Musco, spoke of e-commerce and influencers, as well as the digital revolution, interpreting these issues from its own point of view. Not to be forgotten are the future trends of bags as told by “The Dream Bag” at Gardabags, which was presented by style coach Carla Gozzi.

This special guest attracted the attention of the event’s most bag-addicted fans.

Expo Riva Schuh also presented its territory through its tastes and fragrances, which were the protagonists of the Taste Lounge entrusted to chefs and sommeliers from the Trentino Association of Cooks. Lunches and dining were offered at the Buyer’s Lounge in Hall C4, while aperitifs and relaxation for visitors and the press could be found at Garda Taste in Hall A1: among local specialties and wine tastings, speaking of shoes was an unforgettable pleasure.

The formula of Expo Riva Schuh was once again rewarding: buyers and companies confirm the perfect timing of the event, appreciate the working environment (and the after-work experience), the services and the awareness of the organisers when it comes to intercepting market trends. Always keeping pace with the times, Expo Riva Schuh was once again a resounding success.

The next edition of Expo Riva Schuh and Gardabags will be held from 15 to 18 June 2019.

ExPoPRoTECTIon: SAFETy AT ThE FAIR held from 6 to 8 november in Paris – at the Porte de Versailles exhibition complex – Expoprotection 2018, the French trade show held every two years, proposed the latest safety sector innovations of almost 800 brands, of which 47% was foreign in origin, with notable participation from countries like Belgium, Germany, China, Italy, India, and Great Britain.

Moreover, around 20,000 professional visitors arrived from various parts of the world to participate. The event once again demonstrated itself to be of strategic importance for the universe of proposals dedicated to occupational and industrial risks, and security and firefighting, with a special focus on workwear and accessories for personal safety, especially in work areas.

At Expoprotection, footwear was one of the leading protagonists, offering a wide variety of diversified proposals for every need, without forgetting about the importance of materials and components, like soles, leathers, fabrics, etc. Especially noteworthy was the presence of Italian exhibitors offering safety footwear propo-

sals with an extra special touch of fashion: from U-Power to Alba&N, Diadora Utility, Lotto, Uniwork, Dike, Grisport, Garsport, Cofra, Bicap, Jolly, Nova Spirale, Base, and Kappa. Grazie alla tecnologia PU Tek Egisto Lenzi ha sviluppato un nuovo concetto di filato con una super resistenza all’abrasione che, filato direttamente all’interno del tessuto, garantisce performance eccezionali. Il disegno preferito è a nido d’ape: testato ISO 12947, ha superato egregiamente la prova, è quindi stato sottoposto anche al più aggressivo trattamento di test con carta sabbiata, UNI EN388, e ancora una volta ha confermato la sua grande resistenza.

Resistance in a thread The innovative fabrics presented by the Italian company at the fair are used in the construction of the most innovative safety footwear. Thanks to PU Tek technology, Egisto Lenzi has developed a new concept of thread with a super resistance to abrasion, since it is directly sewn into the fabric, thus guaranteeing exceptional performance. The preferred design is honeycomb: ISO 12947 certified, it passed the test with flying colours, and was subsequently subjected to the most aggressive testing possible with sandpaper, UNI EN388, while once again confirming its high degree of resistance.

Among the solutions that guarantee performance and reliability in fighting daily risks are the HRO rubber sole and extra-volume in the fiberglass toe-cap. Lightweight, with an extra-long dust-flap on the tongue stops the penetration of dirt and the formation of uncomfortable pressure points, this shoe has a YKK zip with Velcro on the side that allows it to be taken off quickly. Last, but not least, it is reinforced by TPU in the heel.

Protection and well-being The thirty years of experience of Maspica Spa in the sector of technical injected footwear has given life to the Sixton project. In this project, the study of the anatomical conformation and biomechanics of the foot come together with a need for equilibrium, stability, and safety, while also satisfying the requirements of specific working environments and complying with EN ISO 20345:2011 safety standards. La “CSI deLLa CaLzatura” SI dota dI una nuova Sede CIMAC inaugura la sua nuova sede, sempre a Vigevano, e si insedia in un fabbricato di proprietà in via Aguzzafame 60/b.

inaugurazione presieduta dalla Annarita Pilotti, Presidente di Assocalzaturifici, e dal sindaco di Vigevano Andrea Sala ha visto la partecipazione dell’intero Consiglio dell’Associazione e della stampa locale e di settore. “Bisogna ringraziare il consigliere Massimo Martinoli e la dr.sa Paola Crespi, responsabile della Business Unit di CIMAC, che hanno individuato questa struttura. – dichiara Annarita Pilotti – Siamo arrivati qui dopo un lungo percorso: prima, con il sindaco Sala avevamo puntato sugli spazi dell’ex mattatoio. Ma i costi ed i tempi della ristrutturazione sarebbero stati troppo alti. Questa sede è invece consona alle attività di CIMAC e permette di ampliare notevolmente gli spazi dei laboratori che, nella vecchia struttura, erano davvero angusti. Siamo passati da 950 a 2.200 metri quadrati di superficie: uno spazio sufficiente a far lavorare tutti al meglio. Voglio anche ricordare che il CIMAC negli ultimi quattro anni ha

aumentato il suo fatturato del 40%. Ecco, la nuova sede è un fiore all’occhiello dell’Associazione, un fiore che bisogna curare e far crescere”.

Il Responsabile Area Moda del Centro, Pietro Biglia, conduce alla visita dei laboratori il pubblico intervenuto all’inaugurazione. Dopo aver passato l’atrio dove avviene l’accoglienza e registrazione dei materiali, si apre un grande open space da cui si accede ai diversi laboratori di analisi: “Noi la chiamiamo agorà: - spiega Pietro Biglia – qui vengono registrate le schede dei materiali, redatti i risultati dei test e le nostre valutazioni: preferiamo infatti argomentare i nostri responsi per offrire un migliore servizio alle aziende. Dall’agorà si accede ai diversi laboratori dove – come un CSI della calzatura – effettuiamo i test, le analisi e le prove…“.

Ogni laboratorio è contrassegnato da un colore diverso: il giallo, per il laboratorio fashion che si occuperà dei test e delle certificazioni relative ai prodotti moda, non solo la calzatura ma anche la borsa, gli accessori e l’abbigliamento. Tra i macchinari, sfoggia anche un dinamometro di nuova generazione. I due laboratori rossi sono dedicati invece ai prodotti di sicurezza per la verifica sui dpi e le certificazioni, nel primo si effettuano le prove meccanico-fisiche, nel secondo quelle chimiche. Di colore azzurro, il laboratorio per i test di innocuità, che effettua verifiche sulle sostanze che possono essere tossiche o allergeniche. Questa tipologia di analisi permette alle aziende di essere a norma sia con gli adempimenti del Reach che con normative particolari come quelle in vigore in Usa e Cina.

“Il supporto di CIMAC – dichiara Pietro Biglia - è indispensabile alle aziende che vogliono esportare ed essere in regola in ogni parte del mondo globale”. Infine, nell’altro laboratorio giallo, quello “istituzionale”, vi si svolgono verifiche sulla resistenza all’uso delle calzature verificando non solo le prestazioni, ma anche il grado di confort. In più, una intera sezione è dedicata alle prove di risposta al fuoco per le calzature e l’abbigliamento di sicurezza.

Finita la visita si ritorna all’agorà per una fotografia con Annarita Pilotti, i responsabili del CIMAC Giuseppe Bellotti (responsabile tecnico) e Pietro Biglia, e tutti gli analisti del centro. Si respira l’entusiasmo del gruppo, la voglia di affrontare le nuove sfide: un’apertura ad altre tipologie di prodotto moda, dalla calzatura alla borsa e l’abbigliamento; i test e le analisi ma senza limitarsi ai numeri, bensì argomentando i dati; le certificazioni e la consulenza per aiutare le aziende ad essere sempre in regola, in Italia come nel mondo.

The inauguration presided over by Annarita Pilotti, President of Assocalzaturifici, and by the Mayor of Vigevano, Andrea Sala, saw the participation of the Association’s entire Board of Directors and of the local and sector press. “I would like to thank member of the board Massimo Martinoli and Ms. Paola Crespi, head of the CIMAC Business Unit, who discovered this structure. – declares Annarita Pilotti – It took us a while to get to this point: initially, with Mayor Sala, we were considering the spaces of the ex-slaughterhouse. But its restoration would have been too expensive and taken too much time. This headquarters is instead in line with the activities of CIMAC and allows a much bigger area to be dedicated to the laboratories which, in the old structure, were quite tight. We’ve passed from 950 to 2,200 square metres of surface area: a space that is wide enough to allow everyone to work better. I would also like to point out that CIMAC over the last four years has increased its turnover by 40%. The new headquarters is accordingly the pride and joy of the Association, a flower that must be carefully looked after and tended to so it can grow”.

The Head of the Centre’s Fashion Area, Pietro Biglia, took the public present at the inauguration on a guided tour of the laboratories. After having passed the lobby, where there is a reception desk and the registration of materials, next is a huge open space where it is possible to access different laboratories dedicated to different kinds of analyses: “We call it the Agora: - explains Pietro Biglia –this is where all material datasheets are registered and where we draw up the results of our tests and evaluations: we in fact prefer to explain our testing and results in detail, so we can offer a better service to companies. From the Agora, it is possible to access different laboratories where – just like a CSI of footwear – we affect tests, undertake analyses, and do experiments…” Every laboratory is identified by a different colour: yellow

identifies the fashion laboratory, which oversees testing and certifications for fashion products, including not just footwear, but also bags, accessories, and apparel. Among the machines, there is also a state-of-the-art dynamometer.

The two red laboratories are instead dedicated to safety products and the analysis of PPE and its certifications. In the first one, mechanophysical tests are undertaken, while the second is dedicated to chemical analyses. Light blue is the colour of the laboratory that affects test to ensure consumer safety, with analyses of substances that could be hazardous or cause allergic reactions.

This kind of analysis allows companies to comply not only with REACH standards, but also with other kinds of safety standards currently in force, like the ones in the USA and China. “The support of CIMAC – declares Pietro Biglia – is essential to companies that want to export and be compliant with regulations in every part of the world”.

Finally, in the other yellow laboratory, or rather the “institutional” laboratory, tests regarding resistance to use in footwear are undertaken not only to evaluate performance, but also to analyse the degree of comfort. Additionally, an entire area is dedicated to the fire resistance of safety footwear and apparel.

At the end of the visit, everyone returned to the Agora for a group picture with Annarita Pilotti, the heads of CIMAC Giuseppe Bellotti (Technical Director) and Pietro Biglia, and all the analysts of the centre. The enthusiasm of the group was clear to be seen, along with the desire to face future challenges together, including an opening up to other kinds of fashion products, from footwear to bags and apparel; tests and analyses that do not limit themselves to numbers, but rather focus on an explanation of the data; and certifications and consultancy services to ensure companies are always compliant both in Italy and around the world. Now, let’s get back to work!

agli ultimi adempimenti per la calzatura professionale e di sicurezza, all’attività di consulting e di sviluppo dei nuovi materiali… Un punto di vista insostituibile per le aziende calzaturiere che nel Centro vigevanese da oltre 30 anni hanno trovato e continuano a trovare un partner per l’innovazione, il monitoraggio delle normative, le analisi e test, le certificazioni di qualità.

Ingegner Bellotti, quali sono gli ultimi adempimenti richiesti per i Dpi relativi alla calzatura professionale/di sicurezza?

I DPI di II e III categoria devono essere certificati da un Organismo Notificato prima di essere immessi sul mercato. E fino a qui nulla di nuovo. Ciò che cambia è il riferimento legislativo alla base della Certificazione: i requisiti essenziali di salute e sicurezza del DPI, prima prescritti dalla Direttiva 89/686/CE, sono ora stabiliti dal Regolamento UE 2016/425 che abroga la Direttiva a partire dal 21 aprile 2019. Quindi: • un DPI di II e III Categoria che viene immesso sul mercato prima del 21 aprile 2019 può essere certificato ancora secondo Direttiva. Il suo certificato resta valido sino al 21 aprile 2023 a meno di aggiornamenti delle norme armonizzate (sono quelle norme che descrivono come verificare i requisiti di salute e sicurezza del DPI); • un DPI che viene immesso sul mercato dopo il 21 aprile 2019 deve essere certificato secondo Regolamento; • dopo il 21 aprile 2023 tutti i DPI di II e III categoria dovranno necessariamente essere certificati secondo Regolamento.

Rispetto alla Direttiva è bene ricordare che il Regolamento introduce il concetto di validità (durata) del Certificato, ora fissato in 5 anni dalla data di emissione. Il Regolamento inserisce anche il concetto di rintracciabilità del DPI: devono essere

inseriti nella marcatura CE una serie di elementi, oltre all’indirizzo completo del fabbricante.

Monitoraggio sulla normativa europea: in quale modo CIMAC aiuta le aziende dell’industria calzaturiera a mettersi in pari con gli adempimenti obbligatori?

CIMAC da sempre partecipa ai tavoli di lavoro normativi, sia nazionali che internazionali: abbiamo un ruolo attivo e veniamo a conoscenza delle novità sin dalla loro nascita, partecipiamo a tutte le fasi di stesura delle norme, nonché alla loro validazione attraverso sperimentazioni. Da sempre mettiamo a fattor comune la nostra competenza e la nostra esperienza, sia attraverso incontri e seminari formativi che attraverso newsletters, per favorire un aggiornamento continuo.

Nuovi test per la calzatura? Qual è la tecnologia più innovativa che applicate per la calzatura di sicurezza nei vostri laboratori?

Se parliamo di marcatura CE e dei relativi test sul prodotto, i requisiti di salute e sicurezza sono stabiliti dal Regolamento (prima dalla Direttiva) e dalle norme armonizzate, quindi lo studio e lo sviluppo di nuovi materiali è principalmente attuato sulla base dell’evoluzione normativa. E l’attività dell’Organismo di Certificazione deve andare di pari passo. In questo senso CIMAC è già pronto a testare i puntali e gli inserti antiperforazione secondo la norma EN ISO 22568 (che sostituirà l’attuale EN 12568), così come per la prova di scivolamento e perforazione del fondo della calzatura, la cui norma di riferimento è egualmente in fase di revisione. Disponiamo di tutte le apparecchiature per poter eseguire tutti i test necessari per il rilascio della Certificazione, anche di quelle più particolari come la trasmissione del calore radiante (per le calzature dei Vigili del Fuoco) e il taglio con sega a catena (ad esempio per le calzature dei forestali).

Studio/sviluppo di nuovi materiali: quali sono le novità che proponete alle aziende che producono calzatura di sicurezza?

Il mercato richiede tessuti altamente traspiranti, materiali autopulenti, materiali in grado di minimizzare gli urti dovuti all’attività lavorativa, calzature molto leggere e flessibili, quindi con materiali a bassa densità. Questi solo alcuni dei trend. In CIMAC possiamo supportare la ricerca e sviluppo con test specifici.

Da attenti osservatori del mercato, quali sono secondo CIMAC i trend della calzatura di sicurezza?

Punto fermo rimane la protezione e l’affidabilità, ma oggi anche l’occhio vuole la sua parte. Le calzature da lavoro e di sicurezza si avvicinano alle scarpe per il tempo libero. Basti pensare che numerosi brand associati allo sport e al tempo libero sono produttori di calzature di sicurezza. Chi le indossa dà valore anche all’aspetto moda: all’evoluzione tecnologica si affianca la ricerca estetica.

From the latest obligations for occupational and safety footwear, to consulting activities and the development of new cutting-edge materials… for over 30 years, this Vigevano centre has been providing key insight and irreplaceable support to footwear manufacturers, who have found and continue to find it to be an important partner for innovation, the monitoring of regulations, analyses and test, and quality certifications.

Engineer Bellotti, what are the latest PPE obligations for occupational and safety footwear?

Category II and III PPE must be certified by a Notified Body before being placed on the market.

And this is nothing new. What changes is the Certification’s underlying legislative reference: the essential requirements of health and safety in PPE, previously set down by Directive 89/686/EEC, have now been replaced by the new PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425, which supersedes the Directive as of 21 April 2019. So: • Category II and III PPE that is placed on the market before 21 April 2019 can still be certified in accordance with the Directive. Their certificates will remain valid until 21 April 2023, unless there are updates regarding the harmonized standards (standards that describe how to verify the conformity of PPE with the requirements of health and safety).

• PPE placed on the market after 21 April 2019 must be certified in accordance with the Regulation.

• After 21 April 2023, all Category II and III PPE will have to be certified in accordance with the Regulation.

When comparing it to the Directive, it’s important to remember the Regulation introduces the concept of validity (duration) of the Certificate, which has now been set at 5 years from the date of issue. The Regulation also includes the concept of PPE traceability: the CE marking must include a series of elements in addition to the complete address of the manufacturer.

Monitoring of the European regulation: in which way will CIMAC help footwear manufacturers align themselves with the mandatory obligations?

CIMAC has always participated in work groups dedicated to analysing regulations, both nationally and internationally: we play an active role and are aware of any changes right from the start.

We participate in all phases regarding the application of regulations, as well as in ensuring product conformity through experimentation. We have always made our expertise and experience available to everyone, both through meetings and educational seminars, as well as through newsletters, to ensure the information we have on hand is the latest.

What about new tests for footwear? What is the most innovative technology you apply to safety footwear in your laboratories?

If we’re talking about CE markings and relative products tests, the obligations of health and safety are established by the Regulation (and previously by the Directive) as well as by the harmonized standards. So, the study and development of new materials is mostly based on the evolution of the regulation. And the Certification Body must keep pace with these changes. In this sense CIMAC is already set to test anti-perforation toecaps and inserts in accordance with the EN ISO 22568 standard (that will replace the current EN 12568 regulation), just like it ready to undertake

anti-slip and footwear outsole perforation tests, which are also currently being revised. We have all the equipment needed to carry out all the tests required for Certification, including even the most specific kinds of tests, like protection against radiant heat (for firefighter footwear) and against cuts by hand-held chainsaws (a requirement of forest service footwear).

Study/development of new materials: what are the latest innovations you propose to companies that produce safety footwear?

The market requires highly breathable fabrics, self-cleaning materials, materials capable of minimizing on-the-job impacts, and extremely light and flexible footwear, which means materials with a low density. These are some of the trends. In CIMAC, we can support research and development through specific tests.

As attentive observers of the market, what does CIMAC consider to be the latest safety footwear trends?

Protection and reliability are always priority, but today also the look plays an important role.

Occupational and safety footwear are increasingly similar to shoes for leisure time. In fact, numerous brands associated with sports and free time are producers of safety footwear. Wearers of safety shoes also value fashion: technological evolution is accordingly joined by aesthetic research.

Nel corso degli ultimi anni, tuttavia, le calzature antinfortunistiche sono arrivate a rappresentare oltre il 70% del totale delle nostre vendite, tanto che stiamo pensando di specializzarci esclusivamente negli accessori. In quest’ambito, trattiamo sostanzialmente due marchi: U-Power e Exena. Di U-Power siamo da oltre 20 anni rivenditori autorizzati e la linea Red Lion costituisce il nostro prodotto di punta di gamma alta, molto apprezzato dai nostri clienti per le ottime performance in termini di prestazioni, riduzione della fatica e durata nel tempo. In base ai nostri riscontri, il lancio della linea Red Lion ha dato un nuovo impulso al mercato della calzatura di sicurezza e anche alle nostre vendite. Quest’azienda aveva già un prodotto di alta qualità, ma il brand non era molto conosciuto dai consumatori. La strategia di massici investimenti pubblicitari e di comunicazione degli ultimi anni ha cambiato le cose, creando curiosità nel pubblico rispetto al prodotto e alla tecnologia Infinergy, curiosità che poi ha trovato riscontro dopo l’acquisto in termini di prestazioni”. “In generale, il made in Italy ha un suo peso nelle scelte del consumatore, ma conta ancora di più la forza del marchio e le caratteristiche di prodotto. Per la clientela che, per ragioni di budget

oppure per esigenze occasionali, ha bisogno di un prodotto di qualità ma ad un prezzo più vantaggioso, offriamo la linea della Exena: azienda storica italiana dall’ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. Questa è, ad esempio, la scelta preferita dagli studenti per le ore di laboratorio. Tra i plus di questo brand ci sono, inoltre, l’ottimo grip nei modelli con certificazione ESD e il fatto che è stata tra le prime realtà del settore a proporre scarpe senza puntale

metallico e a prezzo economico (i modelli presenti in negozio sono in una fascia di prezzo compresa tra i 32 e i 70 euro al pubblico, mentre le Red Lion sono comprese tra i 90 e i 115 euro al paio)”.

“Il consumatore è molto cambiato nel corso degli ultimi anni: fino a non molto tempo fa le scarpe di sicurezza si compravano perché erano d’obbligo e vi si destinava la minor spesa possibile. Oggi invece s’investe volentieri in un prodotto di qualità, capace di garantire alte prestazioni e confort, e per il quale si è anche disposti a spendere, soprattutto se lo si indossa tutti i giorni e per molte ore al giorno. Anche perché una buona scarpa da lavoro, tenuta bene, è in grado di durare dai tre ai cinque anni. Il numero di paia acquistate durante l’anno varia molto da cliente a cliente: in media 2 paia all’anno, ma cito il caso di un nostro cliente storico che compra ogni 3 mesi un certo modello di buona qualità perché, lavorando con gli acidi, la scarpa (scamosciata) si rovina facilmente, ma lui si trova così bene con questo modello da volerlo acquistare comunque!”

“La nostra consulenza è fondamentale: il consumatore arriva in negozio con un’idea piuttosto vaga di quello che intende acquistare, e spesso ha solo delle specifiche date dal responsabile della sicurezza e un budget da rispettare. Va detto che, in generale, il budget destinato dalle aziende all’acquisto di scarpe da lavoro è molto cresciuto negli ultimi anni e questo permette di indirizzarsi su un prodotto di alta qualità. Tuttavia, quando si tratta di un uso occasionale, siano noi che preferiamo consigliare un prodotto più economico, anche a discapito del nostro guadagno effettivo.

Inoltre, i clienti in genere si legano ad un determinato modello e marchio, che tendono ad acquistare per anni. Spetta a noi, quindi, indirizzarli eventualmente su un prodotto diverso che, a nostro parere, è più indicato per le loro esigenze”.

“In general, Made in Italy has its own clout in influencing consumer choices, but the strength of the brand and features of the product count even more. When personal budget or only an occasional need of the shoes is a concern, we offer the Exena line to clientele requiring a quality product at a competitive price: a historic Italian company with an excellent quality/price ratio. This is, for example, the preferred choice of students for their hours of laboratory work. Among the advantages of this brand, is the excellent grip of the models with ESD certification and the fact that it was among the first realities in the sector to propose shoes without metallic toecaps at a low price (the resale price of the models present in the store range between 32 to 70 euros, while Red Lion ranges between 90 to 115 euros per pair)”.

“The consumer has changed a lot over the course of the last few years: until just a short time ago, safety shoes were bought because they were obligatory and the minimum amount needed to purchase them was spent.

Today, instead, there is a willingness to invest in a quality product capable of guaranteeing high performance and comfort, as well as a readiness to spend more money, above all if it is something worn every day for many hours a day. This is true also because a work shoe, if cared for correctly, can last from three to five years. The number of pairs purchased over the year varies a lot from customer to customer: on average, around 2 pairs per year, but I would also like to cite the case of one of our most loyal customers who buys a certain model of good quality every 3 months. This is because he works with acids and the shoe (which is made of suede) is easily ruined, but since this model perfectly satisfies his needs, he buys it all the same!

“The advice we offer is essential: customers arrive in the store with a rather vague idea about what they might want to buy, and often they have only the specific requirements given to them by their safety managers and a budget that must be respected. It must be said that, in general, the budget destined by companies for the purchase of a pair of safety shoes has grown a lot in recent years and this allows us to point them towards a high quality product. Nevertheless, when it’s a pair of shoes needed only for occasional use, we prefer to recommend a less expensive product, even if we end up earning less. Additionally, customers often become attached to a certain model and/or brand, and will continue to buy it for many years. It’s accordingly up to us to eventually help steer their choices towards a different product, which in our opinion, might be more suitable for their needs”.

“We are a historic store present in Milan since long-ago 1941 and specialised in the sales of occupational and safety apparel and footwear. Over the last few years, however, safety footwear has accounted for over 70% of our total sales, and we are now considering the possibility of exclusively specialising ourselves in this accessory. In this segment, we mainly sell two brands: U-Power and Exena. We have been authorised resellers of U-Power for more than 20 years now and the Red Lion line is our leading high-end product line, greatly appreciated by our customers, thanks to its excellent performance in terms of technical innovation, reduced fatigue, and durability over time. Based on what we’ve seen, the launching of the Red Lion line has given new impulse to the market of safety footwear and also to our sales. This company already had a high quality product, but the brand was not very well-known by consumers. In recent years, the strategy of making important investments in advertising and communication has changed things, arousing curiosity among consumers about the product and its Infinergy technology, a curiosity that is justified once the product has been purchased and its performance confirmed”.

Una scarpa estiva in microfibra può, ad esempio, essere ottimale anche in inverno per chi lavora in un ambiente chiuso, offrendo una maggiore leggerezza. L’esperienza maturata in anni di lavoro e corsi di aggiornamento continui ci permettono di dare al cliente la scarpa ottimale per le sue esigenze”.

“Il nostro punto vendita è nato nel dopoguerra e precisamente nel 1951, anno che viene riportato anche nel nostro logo, per iniziativa di mio nonno.

In principio si lavorava soprattutto per l’Alfa Romeo, che proprio qui al Portello aveva la sua sede produttiva, trattando nello specifico abbigliamento da lavoro. Poi, una ventina d’anni fa, abbiamo introdotto anche le calzature, che oggi rappresentano circa il 20 per cento del nostro fatturato. Il nostro core business resta, infatti, l’abbigliamento: siamo gli unici a Milano e provincia a produrre artigianalmente capi su misura e personalizzati in base alle richieste del cliente, grazie ad una sartoria interna che offre anche un servizio di riparazioni espresso. Ci siamo così ritagliati una nicchia di mercato e oggi stiamo anche valutando di mettere alcuni articoli in vendita in rete attraverso un’importante piattaforma online che ci ha contattati con molto interesse”.

“Nell’ambito delle calzature di sicurezza trattiamo una molteplicità di marchi, ma il nostro brand di riferimento è Base Protection, di cui proponiamo diversi modelli. Si tratta di un marchio che offre un ottimo rapporto qualità/ prezzo e con un elevato contenuto di ricerca in termini di materiali e prestazioni, molto apprezzato dalla nostra clientela. Per chi cerca una calzatura dall’aspetto più sportivo e casual, proponiamo invece la linea Diadora Utility Glove, mentre per le scuole e in tutti quei casi in cui il prezzo gioca un ruolo importante, offriamo in negozio modelli del marchio Exena che si attestano intorno ai 35 – 40 euro e offrono una buona qualità. Completano la nostra gamma di vendita un modello S1P della IssaLine di Industrial Starter, indicato per una molteplicità di impieghi e con un prezzo molto vantaggioso, e un modello di gamma più alta e di categoria S3 della Aboutblu di Panther, che viene scelto spesso da chi ricerca una buona qualità e un’estetica più elegante, perfetto ad esempio da indossare con un abito da uomo. “Il mercato della calzatura da lavoro e di sicurezza è molto cambiato negli ultimi anni: innanzitutto, perché oggi vi sono delle normative che obbligano a portare questo tipo di scarpe e questo senza dubbio è andato a beneficio del nostro business. Di pari passo, anche le aziende hanno investito di più per offrire un prodotto di qualità crescente: se, ad esempio, una volta le scarpe da lavoro erano solo nere e con puntale e lamina in acciaio - quindi pesanti e rigide - oggi si trovano caratteristiche di protezione uguale o maggiore anche con lamine e puntali in materiale composito, che garantisce una maggiore flessibilità e leggerezza. “Our store was founded in the post-war period of 1951, the year that is also part of our logo, as an initiative of my grandfather. Initially, we worked above all for Alfa Romeo, which had its production facilities located here in Portello, with sales mostly concentrated in workwear. “In the segment of safety footwear, we sell a number of different brands, but our brand of reference is Base Protection, with which we propose several different models. It’s a brand that offers an excellent quality/price ratio, characterised by high research content in terms of materials and performance, which is greatly appreciated by our clientele. For those customers in search of footwear with a sportier and more casual style, we instead propose the Diadora Utility Glove line, while for schools and for all those cases where price plays an important role, our store offers good quality models from the Exena brand that cost between 35 – 40 euros a pair. Our sales range is completed by a S1P model from the Industrial Starter IssaLine, which is suitable for a wide range of uses at an extremely advantageous price; and by the Panther Aboutblu line, a higher end range with S3 certification often chosen by customers in search of a good quality product with a more elegant look, which is perfect when paired with a men’s suit for example. Finally, we have footwear from the Reposa and Calzuro brands for the hospital industry, and a line of elegant leather pumps with rubber soles by Donna Claudia. We prefer to keep select and possibly Made in Italy brands in the store, because since we are also artisans, we are very familiar with the value of well-made and high quality products”.

first of all, because today there are laws that require this kind of shoe to be worn and without a doubt this has been to the benefit of our business.

At the same time, companies have also invested more in order to offer an increasingly high quality product: if, for example, at one time work shoes only came available in black and with a steel toecap and midplate – making them heavy and inflexible – today, there is the same or an even greater level of protection that can be obtained by midplates and toecaps made from composite materials, which guarantee greater flexibility and lightness. Of growing importance is also the look: among chefs, for example, today there are black shoes with an elegant outline and not just traditional white shoes”.

“Our expertise is essential when it comes to choosing: we must know what the customer is looking for, where he/she works, and what kind of use will be made of the footwear. A summer shoe in microfiber, for example, is also an excellent choice in the winter for those working in indoor environments, offering them a greater lightness. The experience acquired over many years of work and through regular courses of professional updating, allows us to offer customers the very best shoes for their needs”.

“I nostri clienti spesso si avvalgono dei coupon aziendali: cercano di spendere il meno possibile, tuttavia vogliono un marchio di riferimento. Che sia made in Italy oppure made in China non fa differenza, purtroppo. La differenza la fa il marchio. In genere acquistano due paia l’anno, una per l’estate ed una per l’inverno”.

Come è cambiato il mercato per le scarpe antinfortunistiche? “Posso dire che nel tempo è cambiato moltissimo: è un mercato che negli ultimi anni è cresciuto esponenzialmente, grazie al lavoro fatto dai grandi marchi: al di là dell’obbligo di calzare scarpe antinfortunistiche sul lavoro, c’è oggi una maggiore consapevolezza sui marchi che hanno reso più appetibili e gradevoli i loro prodotti”.

Unfortunately, whether it is Made in Italy or Made in China makes no difference. The difference is made by the brand. In general, they purchase two pairs per year, one for the summer and one for the winter”.

How has the market of safety shoes changed? “I can say that over time it has changed a lot: in recent years, it is a market that has grown exponentially thanks to the work done by leading brands: looking beyond the requirement to wear safety shoes on the job, today, there is greater awareness of the brands that have made their products more attractive and enjoyable”.

The Cofra research laboratories have created Poly-Green, a regenerated material used for the sole insert in the heel area and for the ECO-TECH insole. Made from a virgin polyurethane and recycled polyurethane compound, it is the perfect balance between shock-absorption and lift; giving new life to a material that is usually discarded, while avoiding the use of materials that have extremely slow times of biodegradation.

The GREEN-FIT line has a TPU polyurethane sole with Poly-Green insert, for maximum comfort made possible by the elevated mechano-physical

properties of the insert present in the heel, which has been designed ad hoc to guarantee a high level of shock-absorption and significant lift.

The Poly-green ECO-TECH insole is anatomical, antistatic, pierced, scented, soft, and comfortable.

ra infatti il 1979 quando Lino Bozzato, attuale presidente e già imprenditore del packaging dal 1961, fondava il Calzaturificio Orion insieme a M. Antonietta Meneghin, attuale CEO e contitolare dell’azienda con la figlia Lisa. Nel corso degli anni l’azienda è cresciuta e oggi può contare sulla produzione di oltre 10.000 paia di calzature al giorno, coprendo vaste aree geografiche con la vendita di calzature di varie tipologie che vanno dal casual per uomo, donna e bambino, al “safety“.

A quarant’anni dalla fondazione, Orion mostra la stessa vitalità cha aveva ai suoi esordi, con un impegno costante nell’investimento in Ricerca e Sviluppo, così come nella qualità dei suoi prodotti.

Quest’anno, in particolare, l’azienda inaugura il suo nuovo showroom, oltre 400 metri quadrati per l’esposizione di alcuni dei prototipi che produce ogni anno nella modelleria interna, e il nuovo laboratorio interno per le principali prove fisico-meccaniche. Il percorso per l’organizzazione e la strutturazione della qualità del calzaturificio Orion Spa, intrapreso anni fa con il supporto della consulenza e formazione dell’ing. 40th anniversary The Orion Shoe Company celebrates 40 years of history in 2019.

It was 1979 when Lino Bozzato, the current President of the company, with previous experience as an entrepreneur specialised in packaging since 1961, founded the Orion Group shoe company together with M. Antonietta Meneghin, present-day CEO and co-owner of the company with her daughter Lisa.

Over the years, the company has grown, and today it claims a production of over 10,000 pairs of shoes per day, covering vast geographic areas around the world with its sales network that offers various kinds of footwear, from casual shoes for men, women, and children, to safety shoes. At forty years from its foundation, Orion demonstrates the same vitality that characterised its beginnings, with constant investments made in Research and Development, as well as in the quality of its products.

This year in particular the company will inaugurate not only a new showroom of over 400 square metres that will showcase some of the prototypes coming from its yearly line-up of models, but also a brand new in-house laboratory for its main physical-mechanical tests.

The quality pathway that Orion Spa first started down many years ago, thanks to the advice and training provided by Eng. Daniele Grandesso, has led the company to acquire ISO 9001 certification, which today it continues to keep constantly updated. Most recently it also acquired RPN (Ricotest Proficiency Network) certification for its new laboratory.

The most advanced technologies at the heart of Primato act in tandem with one another, offering an excellence without compromise: footwear so ergonomic as to reduce muscular fatigue, 40% lighter than normal work shoes, with an energy return of 40% capable of guaranteeing correct posture, thanks to the shift of the centre of gravity towards the heel area.
