Fluffy rolls and champagne

P

otrebbe sembrare strano, ma c’è qualcuno che ha pensato a un particolare menù per il cenone di fine anno. Scelta discutibile quella di pasteggiare a Sofficini e Champagne (anche se, lo confesso, a me stuzzica), ma senza dubbio originale. Come originale è l’amico che l’ha pensata. Una persona che stimo moltissimo, così piena di passione per il suo lavoro da lasciare in secondo piano il tema cibo.

Ne parlo non certo per darvi un suggerimento culinario da 3 stelle Michelin, ma per sottolineare quella passione che muove molti umani, dai più giovani ai diversamente giovani. La passione di Max Alexander, imberbe stilista americano che, a soli 7 anni, si sta affermando come una celebrità. Lo scorso novembre gli abiti confezionati dal piccolo designer hanno sfilato durante la settimana della moda di Denver, dopo essere stati indossati da una testimonial di eccezione come Sharon Stone.

La sua è la stessa passione che anima chi organizza un evento come Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags per oltre 50 anni e 100 edizioni portandolo ad imporsi come il più importante evento internazionale per il commercio di calzature del medio di gamma.

Ma anche lo stesso trasporto con cui Enclò, Minacapilli, e altri giovanissimi del calibro di Miriam Pellegrin e Jieru Yang & Susy Zhang pensano alle loro collezioni. La medesima energia che Alessandro Miressi mette nello slancio con cui solca l’acqua delle piscine, sognando le Olimpiadi.

Che abbiate messo in tavola il caviale con lo champagne, e non un surgelato, ciò che conta è che, in questo nuovo anno, noi tutti si costruisca futuro con passione.

It may sound strange, but there is someone who has thought of a particular menu for New Year's Eve dinner. A questionable choice to dine on fluffy rolls and Champagne (although, I confess, it tantalizes me), but undoubtedly original. As original is the friend who thought of it. A person I hold in high esteem, so full of passion for his work that he leaves the subject of food in the background.

I mention it certainly not to give you a 3-Michelin-starred culinary suggestion, but to emphasize that passion that moves many humans, from the youngest to the otherwise young. The passion of Max Alexander, an imberbe American designer who, at only 7 years old, is establishing himself as a celebrity. Last November, clothes made by the little designer walked the runway during Denver Fashion Week, after being worn by such an exceptional testimonial as Sharon Stone.

His is the same passion that animates those who organize an event like Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags for more than 50 years and 100 editions leading it to establish itself as the most important international event for the mid-range footwear trade.

But also, the same transportation with which Enclò, Minacapilli, and other youngsters of the caliber of Miriam Pellegrin and Jieru Yang & Susy Zhang think about their collections. The same energy that Alessandro Miressi puts into the momentum with which he plows through the water of swimming pools, dreaming of the Olympics.

Whether you put caviar with champagne on the table, and not a frozen treat, what matters is that, in this new year, we all build futures with passion.

Il segreto di 50 anni e 100 edizioni di successo

T

utto parte da una domanda: come è possibile che a Riva del Garda, una piccola città italiana del Trentino, abbia potuto prendere vita Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags, un evento duraturo e di così grande successo? Una manifestazione capace di richiamare persone da ogni parte del mondo, di generare un giro d’affari di dimensioni ragguardevoli e divenire punto di riferimento per il commercio internazionale del mondo delle calzature e, oggi, anche degli accessori.

Nelle sue prime 100 edizioni la fiera ha ospitato circa 70.000 collezioni di calzature. Un calcolo in difetto, perché si è immaginato che a ogni edizione un espositore abbia mostrato una sola collezione, quando si sa che così non è. Ha accolto circa 500 mila presenze e, negli ultimi 10 anni, ha convinto gli operatori di settore a raggiungere Riva del Garda da almeno 100 nazioni per ogni edizione.

Oggi, circa l’80% dei visitatori proviene dal continente europeo e un buon 20% del totale dei visitatori dall’extra-Europa (un numero molto alto, se paragonato ad altri eventi).

Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags ha presentato presso il Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy a Roma la sua centesima edizione che si terrà dal 13 al 16 gennaio 2024.

Alla domanda su come questi numeri siano stati possibili hanno risposto i vertici di Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, la società che organizza Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags, dopo gli interventi istituzionali di Maurizio Montemagno, Direttore Generale per la Politica Industriale, Innovazione e PMI del Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy e di Milena Del Grosso, Dirigente Ufficio Beni di Consumo Agenzia ICE (ITA - Italian Trade Agency).

Durante la conferenza stampa internazionale tenutasi a Roma presso il Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy lo scorso 6 dicembre, il Presidente Roberto Pellegrini ha sottolineato come “in 100 edizioni Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags si è dimostrata essenziale per mantenere competitivi i canali distributivi italiani ed europei. Venuta meno la centralità dell'Italia nelle produzioni di volume, abbiamo l'opportunità di essere e rimanere l’hub leader della distribuzione mondiale: gli scambi internazionali avvengono a Riva del Garda”.

Pellegrini ha poi svelato il segreto del successo della manifestazione: “È da sempre un evento capace di leggere i cambiamenti del mercato e assecondarli”. Quindi ha evidenziato per punti i passaggi importanti di questi 50 anni di fiera: la valorizzazione del territorio, l’incontro proficuo di pubblico e privato, l’apertura ai mercati e alle

produzioni internazionali, il ripensamento della struttura manageriale e le ottime relazioni strette con le filiere produttive e la distribuzione.

Gli ha fatto eco la Direttrice Alessandra Albarelli: “È la nostra internazionalità, superiore a tutte le altre manifestazioni settoriali, a trasformarci in un vero e proprio crocevia per gli scambi: 2 scarpe su 3, a livello mondiale, sono consumate in un Paese diverso da quello in cui sono state fabbricate”.

Essere un evento di successo, che aiuta il mercato italiano delle calzature e degli accessori a primeggiare nel mondo, è anche una responsabilità. Una manifestazione di tale portata non può che impegnarsi ad essere sostenibile sotto ogni aspetto, per l’ambiente, le persone e il territorio, come suggerisce Albarelli: “Riciclo dei rifiuti, mobilità sostenibile, stand sempre più green, sono solo alcune delle iniziative messe in campo in favore dell’ambiente. L’inclusività, che passa anche attraverso la digitalizzazione delle iniziative della fiera, è per noi un altro punto cruciale. Parlando di cura delle persone citerei la nostra collaborazione con il Charity Program di Sole4Souls e con le iniziative del Consorzio Nazionale dei Santi Crispino e Crispiniano”.

Da ultimo Albarelli ha parlato della ricaduta positiva che la fiera ha sul territorio dell’Alto Garda generando un valore economico complessivo di circa 29 milioni di euro.

Per essere protagonisti della storia di Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags l’appuntamento è dal 13 al 16 gennaio 2024.

The secret of 50 years and 100 successful editions At the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy in Rome, Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags presented its 100th edition that will be held in 2024 from 13 to 16 of January.

It all starts with a question: how could Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags, such a long-lasting and successful event, possibly have come to be in Riva del Garda, a small Italian town in Trentino? An event capable of attracting people from all over the world, of generating such an impressive turnover and becoming a touchstone for international trade in the footwear and, today, also the accessories market.

Over its first 100 editions, the fair has hosted roughly 70,000 footwear collections. An underestimation, no doubt, because this assumes that at every edition, each exhibitor presented only one

tiveness of Italian and European distribution channels. While Italy is no longer a hub for mass production, we now have the opportunity to be – and remain – a leading hub for worldwide distribution: Riva del Garda is a place for international trade.”

Pellegrini then revealed the secret of the event's success: “It has always been an event capable of interpreting changes in the market, and accommodating them.”

Reflecting on the significant milestones of the fair over the last 50 years revealed a remarkable journey: bolstering the territorial value, fostering successful collaborations between public and private sectors, expanding into global markets and production, restructuring managerial frameworks, and nurturing strong affiliations with production and distribution networks.

He was echoed by Director Alessandra Albarelli: "It is our internationality, superior to all other industry events, that makes us such an important crossroads for trade: on a global level, 2 out of every 3 pairs of shoes are bought in a country other than the one where they were made.”

Today, about 80% of visitors come from Europe and a good 20% from non-European countries (a very high number compared to other events).

The question as to how these numbers were possible was answered by the top management of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, the organiser of Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags, after the institutional speeches by Maurizio Montemagno, General Director for Industrial Policy, Innovation and SMEs of the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy (MIMIT) and Milena Del Grosso, Consumer Goods Office Manager ITA - Italian Trade Agency.

During the international press conference held in Rome at the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy last Dec. 6, the Chairman, Roberto Pellegrini, underlined that “in 100 editions, Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags has proven to be essential in preserving the competi-

Being a successful event that promotes the Italian footwear and accessories market on a worldwide scale is also a responsibility.

An event of this magnitude must strive to be sustainable in every respect, for the environment, people and the territory, as Albarelli pointed out: "Waste recycling, sustainable mobility, greener stands are just some of the initiatives implemented in favour of the environment. Inclusivity, which is also achieved by digitalising the various initiatives, is another crucial objective for us. Speaking of caring for people, worthy of mention is our collaboration with the Sole4Souls Charity Program and the initiatives of the National Consortium of Saints Crispin and Crispinian.”

Lastly, Albarelli spoke of the fair's positive impact on the Alto Garda region, generating a total economic value of around 29 million euros.

To be a protagonist in the history of Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags, the date is January 13-16, 2024.

Cosa accadrà durante l’edizione numero 100 di Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags?

elebrare significa “ricordare, illustrare o esaltare fatti o personaggi”. Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags non desidera celebrare la sua 100esima edizione con la sola finalità di guardare al passato e decantare il presente. Lo fa con l’intento di ringraziare tutti coloro che hanno reso possibile questa esperienza di successo (istituzioni, associazioni di categoria, espositori, compratori), ma soprattutto per imparare da quanto è già stato e migliorare ulteriormente la propria manifestazione, così da prepararla alle sfide di domani.

Secondo l’Exhibition Manager della manifestazione, Gianpaola Pedretti “la 100esima edizione è l’occasione perfetta per ‘tirare le somme’ di un evento partito con 12 espositori e che oggi conta più di 1300 marchi del settore da oltre 40 paesi e una reale lista d’attesa, nonostante una pandemia abbia messo a dura prova ogni appuntamento internazionale. Un evento che ospita i principali produttori di calzature di volume (e non solo) i quali mettono in mostra il loro saper fare a servizio dei brand internazionali. Una manifestazione nata come vetrina e divenuta, nel tempo, un vero e proprio motore per l’intero comparto calzature e, oggi, anche accessori.”

Allora la domanda è quasi d’obbligo: come si fa a resistere per 100 edizioni ai cambiamenti del mercato?

“Prendendosi cura prima di tutto dei compratori – prosegue Pedretti - assicurando una varietà dell’offerta ben studiata, un’esperienza d’acquisto che risponde alle loro esigenze e offrendo servizi ad ampio spettro. Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags vuole rimanere la piattaforma preferenziale per l’incontro tra domande e offerta, ma vuole anche fornire strumenti evoluti per affrontare il business.”

Citiamo solo alcune iniziative che a partire dall’esperienza del passato guardano con coraggio e decisione al futuro: - L’Innovation Retail Village che a ogni edizione presenta al mondo della distribuzione servizi innovativi su cui può investire per rinnovare il proprio business e porre le basi per il successo di domani.

- L’analisi dei Trend. Proprio in occasione della 100esima edizione, per la prima volta, a Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags si parlerà di tendenze. LE CELEBRAZIONI Ma torniamo alle celebrazioni, al celebrare da cui siamo partiti. Il compleanno di Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags verrà festeggiato durante le due edizioni del 2024, con l’intenzione di coinvolgere tutta la comunità che ruota attorno alla fiera, anche coloro che non partecipano a entrambi gli appuntamenti per questioni di stagionalità.

Ecco i principali eventi in programma: - L’Inaugurazione della manifestazione che avverrà il 13 gennaio 2024 alla presenza di importanti istituzioni nazionali e locali della politica e del settore.

- La Celebration Night del 14 gennaio 2024. Una vera festa che verrà celebrata insieme a tutti coloro che hanno reso possibile Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags partecipando a molte delle cento edizioni.

- La presentazione di un cortometraggio e di una mostra fotografica in cui si ripercorreranno le 5 decadi di storia della manifestazione.

- La realizzazione di una monografia, che verrà presentata per l’edizione di giugno del salone, con testimonianze, protagonisti ed esperienze di queste 100 edizioni, che vuole offrire un'immersione nella storia unica di Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags.

- Vari allestimenti in città per omaggiare la location che due volte l’anno accoglie la community della calzatura e degli accessori.

Conclude Gianpaola Pedretti: “Saranno due edizioni di Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags imperdibili, a cominciare dalla numero 100, che si terrà dal 13 al 16 gennaio 2024 e per cui, possiamo anticiparlo, ci aspettiamo di ospitare più di 1300 marchi da circa 40 Paesi e visitatori da oltre 100 Paesi.”

Celebrating means “remembering, illustrating or highlighting facts or characters.” Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags doesn't want to celebrate its 100th edition for the sole purpose of looking back and glorifying the present. It does so with the aim of thanking all those who have made this experience such a success (institutions, industry associations, exhibitors, buyers), but above all to learn from the path travelled thus far and continue improving the event, thus preparing itself for the challenges of TOMORROW. ia Pittarello, Bruno Conterno, Paolo Villa hanno rappresentato i tanti espositori e buyer che da 50 anni rendono grande l’evento ad ogni stagione.

Lia Pittarello, da 60 anni buyer per l’azienda italiana di famiglia che si occupa di distribuzione di calzature, borse, accessori e abbigliamento, grazie a una rete di punti vendita che conta 65 negozi e dà lavoro a circa 1000 persone.

“Sono praticamente cresciuta in un giardino di calzature e ho iniziato a frequentare Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags circa 40 anni fa, quando la gran parte della manifestazione si svolgeva ancora negli alberghi.”

Avendo girato il mondo, cosa spinge Lia Pittarello a tornare a Riva del Garda? “Ci torno perché è una fiera molto accogliente, facile da visitare, in cui è presente il prodotto italiano così come un’ampia selezione di proposte internazionali. In un tale contesto è facile che il confronto con il mercato sia molto ricco e utile.

Probabilmente mio padre - che ancora oggi, alla veneranda età di 80 anni, è attivo in azienda - è stato uno dei primi espositori che ha aderito al progetto. Ai tempi la manifestazione si svolgeva solo ed esclusivamente negli hotel e coinvolgeva diversi paesi affacciati sul Lago di Garda. Io credo di aver fatto compagnia a mio padre per la prima volta all'età di 12 anni. Si lavorava molto e ci si divertiva

In un panorama fieristico internazionale abbastanza omologato, Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags mantiene un suo carattere di diversità sostiene Paolo Villa: "Non sono più i tempi in cui ci si trovava alla discoteca Tiffany per fare serata con colleghi e clienti dopo intense giornate di lavoro, ma rimane un appuntamento particolare per la location meravigliosa in cui si tiene e per le occasioni di piacevole ritrovo con fornitori e compratori anche al di fuori delle sedi istituzionali della fiera."

Lia Pittarello, Bruno Conterno, and Paolo Villa represented the many exhibitors and buyers who have been making the event great every season for 50 years.

Lia Pittarello, a buyer for 60 years for the Italian family business that distributes footwear, handbags, accessories and clothing, thanks to a network of outlets that has 65 stores and employs about 1,000 people.

"I practically grew up in a shoe garden and started attending Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags about 40 years ago, when most of the event was still held in hotels."

Having traveled the world, what drives Lia Pittarello to return to Riva del Garda? "I go back because it is a very welcoming fair, easy to visit, where there is Italian product as well as a wide selection of international proposals. In such a context it is easy for the comparison with the market to be very rich and useful.

In addition, it is the first fair of the season, so it allows to view a preview of the proposals that will invade the market in the following months. I would also add, to the virtues of the event, the variety of product types, which for a chain like ours is fundamental."

For Bruno Conterno, founder and CEO of Nice Footwear - a company that operates as a specialized player in the design, development, production, and distribution of sneakers, footwear, and luxury bags -the fair is a unique event because of the 'spread of beauty' it gives: "For a business event it is important to meet excellent companies, as happens at Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags, but if it happens in a setting that also offers wonderful nature, as well as top hotels and catering, doing business becomes a pleasure.

You almost feel proud of the beauty that Italy can offer and that it shows to guests from all over the world."

'Pragmatic' is the last adjective Bruno Conterno uses to describe the Riva del Garda fair, noting the event's ability to present a product that can stand on the market, as well as provide the opportunity to become informed and learn more about the most interesting issues for the sector, both commercial and strategic.

"We are among the oldest exhibitors at Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags. Probably my father - who is still active in the company today at the ripe old age of 80 - was one of the first exhibitors to join the project. In those days, the event was held exclusively in hotels and involved several towns overlooking Lake Garda. I think I was with my father for the first time at the age of 12. There was a lot of work and a lot of fun as well," these are the memories of Paolo Villa, CEO of Villa Group, a company that has been operating for more than 50 years in the footwear sector, and recently President of Assoprov.

In a fairly homogenized international fair scene, Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags maintains its own character of diversity sustains Paolo Villa: "These are no longer the days when one would find oneself at the Tiffany disco to have a night out with colleagues and clients after intense days of work, but it remains a special event because of the wonderful location in which it is held and the opportunities for pleasant get-togethers with suppliers and buyers even outside the institutional venues of the fair."

S

crivere è di moda ma, soprattutto, è di moda scrivere sulla moda. Quello che sembrerebbe un gioco di parole in realtà è lo spazio che sempre più l’intero sistema moda si è preso per affermare una creatività talmente versatile e ampia da non rimanere confinata ai “soli” vestiti ma che necessita di strumenti sempre diversi e sempre più in grado di esplorarne – e valorizzarne – la ricchezza. Di contenuto, di intenzioni, di forme ma, soprattutto, di essenza per dare conto a un pubblico esigente e ghiotto di narrazioni che, dall’abito, possano espandersi ad ambiti più complessi.

Quello che è certo è che non si tratta di un qualcosa di recente perché la “moda scritta” è parte integrante della storia della società e della cultura dato che ha fatto la sua apparizione nel momento stesso in cui ha preso vita la letteratura, per così dire, laica. È sufficiente pensare, per averne un’idea, ai poemi cavallereschi dei secoli medievali in cui i cataloghi dei vestiti alternati alle gesta dei cavalieri nascondevano significati che andavano ben oltre quelli letterali e che riflettevano valori, sogni, ambizioni di un’intera società. Ma non c’è nulla di cui stupirsi.

La moda è cultura, non è solo costume. Il suo senso trascende l’apparenza e diventa il riflesso esatto del tempo in cui è inserita tanto da essere, al pari del linguaggio scritto, una vera e propria forma di comunicazione.

Se il suo lessico si è sviluppato nel corso delle epoche, esattamente come la lingua, le sue sfumature possiedono un’estetica riconoscibile che cambia e si adatta, così come succede con i codici estetici che indirizzano le tendenze. Ecco allora che scrivere di moda è oggi più che mai importante anche per dare conto della creatività dei designer, sempre più aperta all’esplorazione, sempre meno capace di rimanere entro i confini stabiliti di un unico genere per fare del racconto di moda un variegato atlante che va a posizionarsi accanto ad altri linguaggi – la fotografia come l’illustrazione, il cinema come la passerella – e occupare un posto a sé. I direttori creativi di oggi sono dei rabdomanti che usano il loro genio senza moderazione e lo lasciano a briglia sciolta a esplorare ogni cosa con cui viene in contatto. La conseguenza diretta è che sia la visione del marchio che la loro stessa identità personale diventano oggetto di una poetica da raccontare. O meglio, da

scrivere. Alessandro Michele è l’esempio perfetto di quella capacità di far transitare i linguaggi e di far conoscere le cose che trovano nei libri scritti il loro habitat ideale.

Se oggi si nota un sempre maggiore numero di pubblicazioni e di generi diversi (che dalle biografie arrivano ai saggi passando per veri e propri progetti monografici), questo è squisitamente frutto della moda stessa che produce immaginazione, proprio come fanno i romanzi, che gli appassionati consumano in maniera bulimica. Scomodando Roland Barthes, ci sono un abito parlante -che attraverso i suoi codici dice ciò che vuole dire – e un abito parlato- ovvero descritto e raccontato dai protagonisti della moda – in una dicotomia che, ancora una volta, corrisponde a un valore aggiunto e che, attraverso la scrittura, viene svelato.

Il tutto senza volersi addentrare in un discorso più complesso, capace di costruire un’autentica mitologia intorno all’abito, inteso come collettore di metafore e come pura forma di autorappresentazione meglio di qualsivoglia biografia… Ecco dunque che scrivere di moda significa tenere il filo della storia, propria o generale, e nella varietà dei generi in cui si articola questo ennesimo, meraviglioso aspetto del fashion, si delinea un universo vivace e in movimento, sempre pronto all’esplorazione. Pensiamo solo ai giornali di moda: dal 1672, anno della fondazione del “Mercure Galant”, il periodico francese che per primo inserì nel proprio indice articoli di moda accanto a resoconti mondani e a novelle galanti, le riviste di moda sono state il barometro del gusto e dell’epoca in cui erano inserite, sia grazie alle immagini che alla scrittura.

Con il passare del tempo, poi, quelle narrazioni “volanti” affidate alle pagine dei giornali oppure comparse come meteore all’interno dei romanzi – diversamente da quando poi saranno i romanzi e gli scrittori a ispirare intere collezioni, ma questa è un’altra storia- acquistarono una loro autonomia andando a identificare un genere a sé stante.

Sfaccettato, ricco di declinazioni, mutevole e comunque sempre più frequentato e apprezzato. Un tesoro che gli appassionati hanno imparato a maneggiare per andare ad arricchire un immaginario potente e sempre pronto a essere svelato con le modalità più diverse. non fermarsi alle apparenze ma anche dizionari ad hoc per perfezionare la conoscenza tecnica, il caleidoscopio esperienziale che la letteratura di moda offre è pressoché infinito. Perché? Semplice. La differenza tra indossare e vestire è ancora una volta affidata alle parole: se nel primo caso si intende il portare qualcosa che piace, il secondo termine presuppone ricerca, riflessione, pensiero. E lettura. La quale, peraltro, possiede un coefficiente di magia pari a solo a quello della moda stessa e contiene, ça va sans dire, un effetto deflagrante.

C’è poi un altro fatto fondamentale. La moda oggi ha acquisito sempre più lo status di manifestazione artistica, anche in virtù della sua capacità di stabilire le direttive culturali, di influenzare il sistema, di dare vita a veri capolavori e, per questa ragione, necessita di essere indagata, investigata, trattata, capita. Raccontata. Scritta e letta. Potere delle parole, ovviamente, capaci di dispiegare l’anima dello stile e di racchiuderla in un genere letterario fashion dai molteplici vestiti e protagonista di una biblioteca ideale in continuo aggiornamento. E mai come oggi necessaria. Lo ha capito il panorama editoriale che si è divertito a spaziare tra scenografici volumi illustrati dedicati alle maison più celebri accanto ad altri che ne ripercorrono l’universo creativo; tra biografie raccontate a cuore aperto, imperdibili analisi e dialoghi di storie fatte di successi, di intuizioni, di persone e divertissement creativi. Per ricordare, sempre che, al netto di tutto, la moda è una questione di passione. E di gioia. Esattamente come la lettura.

Writing is fashionable but, above all, it is fashionable to write about fashion. What might seem to be a play on words is actually the space that the entire fashion system has increasingly taken to affirm a creativity that is so versatile and wide-ranging that it does not remain confined to ‘just’ clothes, but requires ever different tools that are increasingly capable of exploring - and enhancing - its richness. Of content, of intentions, of forms but, above all, of essence in order to give an account to a demanding public greedy for narratives that, from clothing, can expand to more complex spheres.

What is certain is that this is not something recent, because ‘written fashion’ is an integral part of the history of society and culture, since it made its appearance at the very moment when, so to speak, secular literature came into being. One only has to think, to get an idea, of the chivalric poems of the medieval centuries in which the catalogues of clothes alternating with the deeds of knights concealed meanings that went far beyond the literal and reflected the values, dreams and ambitions of an entire society. But this is nothing to be surprised about.

Fashion is culture, not just costume. Its meaning transcends appearance and becomes an exact reflection of the time in which it is set, so much so that it is, like written language, a true form of communication.

If its lexicon has developed over the ages, just like language, its nuances possess a recognisable aesthetic that changes and adapts, just as happens with the aesthetic codes that direct trends. This is why writing about fashion is now more important than ever, also to account for the creativity of designers, increasingly open to exploration, less and less able to remain within the established boundaries of a single genre to make fashion storytelling a variegated atlas that is positioned alongside other languages - photography as much as illustration, cinema as much as the catwalk - and occupies a place of its own. Today’s creative directors are diviners who use their genius without restraint and let it run wild to explore everything it comes into contact with. The direct consequence is that both the vision of the brand and their own personal identity become the subject of a poetics

to be told. Or rather, to be written. Alessandro Michele is the perfect example of that ability to make languages transcend and make things known that find their ideal habitat in written books.

If today we see an ever-increasing number of publications and different genres (ranging from biographies to essays via veritable monographic projects), this is exquisitely the result of fashion itself, which produces imagination, just as novels do, which fans consume bulimically. Discomfiting Roland Barthes, there is a talking dress - that through its codes says what it wants to say - and a spoken dress - that is, described and narrated by the protagonists of fashion - in a dichotomy that, once again, corresponds to an added value that, through writing, is revealed. All this without wishing to enter into a more complex discourse, capable of constructing an authentic mythology around clothes, understood as a collector of metaphors and as a pure form of self-representation, better than any biography... So, writing about fashion means keeping the thread of history, one’s own or a general one, and in the variety of genres in which this umpteenth, marvellous aspect of fashion is articulated, a lively and moving universe emerges, always ready for exploration. Just think of fashion magazines: since 1672, the year of the foundation of the ‘Mercure Galant’, the French periodical that was the first to include fashion articles in its index alongside worldly reports and gallant tales, fashion magazines have been the barometer of taste and of the era in which they were set, thanks to both images and writing.

With the passing of time, then, those ‘flying’ narratives entrusted to the pages of newspapers or appearing like meteors within novels - as opposed to when novels and writers would later inspire entire collections, but that is another story - acquired their own autonomy, going on to identify a genre in their own right. Multifaceted, rich in declinations, changeable and in any case increasingly popular and appreciated. A treasure that enthusiasts have learnt to handle to enrich a powerful imagery that is always ready to be unveiled in the most diverse ways. Biographies of stylists, fashion books recounting fashion shows, essays and manuals not to stop at appearances but also ad hoc dictionaries to perfect technical knowledge, the experiential kaleidoscope that fashion literature offers is almost infinite. Why? Simple.

The difference between wearing and dressing is once again entrusted to words: while the former means wearing something that one likes, the latter term presupposes research, reflection, thought. And reading. Which, moreover, possesses a coefficient of magic equal only to that of fashion itself and contains, ça va sans dire, a deflagrating effect. Then there is another fundamental fact.

Fashion today has increasingly acquired the status of an artistic manifestation, also by virtue of its ability to set cultural directives, to influence the system, to give life to true masterpieces and, for this reason, it needs to be investigated, researched, treated, understood. Told.

Written and read. The power of words, of course, capable of unfolding the soul of style and enclosing it in a fashionable literary genre with multiple outfits, and protagonist of an ideal library in continuous updating. And never more necessary than today. This has been understood by the publishing scene, which has amused itself by ranging from scenographic illustrated volumes dedicated to the most famous maisons alongside others that retrace their creative universe; between biographies told from the heart, unmissable analyses and dialogues of stories made up of successes, intuitions, people and creative divertissements. As a constant reminder that, after all, fashion is a matter of passion. And of joy. Exactly like reading.

Come affermata stylist a New York, come riesci a stare al passo con i tempi in un settore così dinamico e frenetico?

Prospero nel caos e mi nutro dell’inarrestabile energia di New York.

La competizione è un grande stimolo e mi ispiro costantemente allo streetwear e all’atmosfera della città.

Sei una professionista con diverse sfaccettature: stylist, direttore creativo, costumista, imprenditrice. Qual è la tua preferita e perché?

Amo avere il pieno controllo, quindi scelgo il ruolo di Direttore Creativo. Mi dà la possibilità di essere al comando dalla A alla Z e di veder realizzata la mia visione senza scendere a compromessi con le idee e le regole di qualcun altro. La cosa più importante del mio lavoro è riuscire a realizzare un’immagine che ispiri veramente le donne a vestirsi bene, andare nel mondo e spaccare.

Hai iniziato a lavorare in “Sex And The City” con Patricia Field. Quali sono le lezioni più importanti che hai imparato da quell’esperienza?

Avere sempre un piano B. Essere in grado di reagire velocemente.

Non avere paura di provare cose nuove. Essere innovativa. Avere il coraggio di mescolare e non abbinare. Ricordarmi di raccontare una storia e di avere intento in quello che faccio.

Come è cambiato il tuo stile nel corso degli anni? È diventato quello che mi piace definire una “label whore”. Hahaha.

Prima impazzivo per le stampe e le tendenze e volevo provare cose in cui sapevo di non sentirmi a mio agio, perché non ero sicura di chi fossi veramente. Oggi mi sento sicura della mia identità. Tutto ciò che è elasticizzato e si attacca al mio corpo mi mette a disagio.

Non sento l’esigenza di essere sexy e rivelatrice. Diciamo che mi piace vestirmi da uomo.

Apprezzo la qualità e la vestibilità più di ogni altra cosa. La mia vita è troppo complicata e folle perché lo siano anche i miei vestiti, quindi appago la mia voglia realizzando look piú estrosi per altre persone, mentre per me stessa rimango sul semplice, chic e classico.

Qual è il tocco magico che ti distingue dagli altri stylist?

Presto molta attenzione alla vestibilità. Le maniche, il rimbocco, devono dare una sensazione di vissuto e di reale.

Parlaci del tuo processo creativo e di ciò che ti ispira.

Tutto il mio mondo ruota intorno ai vestiti. Per sentirmi a mio agio ho bisogno di avere a che fare con gli abiti tutto il giorno. Faccio immersioni online negli stili di passerella e di strada degli anni ‘60, ‘70, ‘80 e ‘90. Sono ossessionata dallo shopping vintage e sono sempre affascinata dai vecchi modelli. Penso ci sia pochissimo che non è stato fatto ancora, pertanto studio i migliori e poi adatto a modo mio.

Osservo le persone per strada. Prendo la metropolitana ovunque vado e noto tutto. Ma ultimamente non c’è niente che mi ispiri di più dello street style di Milano.

Puoi parlare di un progetto impegnativo in cui hai dovuto superare i limiti dello styling convenzionale?

Non ho bisogno di superare i limiti con i vestiti. Gli esseri umani hanno già abbastanza problemi per preoccuparsi dei vestiti. Mi attengo alla semplicità. È importante essere precisi nella storia che >

si sta raccontando e assicurarsi che questo punto di vista emerga in ogni scatto. Le emergenze nella moda possono sembrare molto reali. Hahaha.

Raccontaci una giornata lavorativa in cui sei stata incredibilmente indaffarata, ma a fine giornata ti sei sentita orgogliosa o ti sei divertita alla grande.

Onestamente, ogni giorno! Si comincia col dover spegnere molti incendi. Trovare soluzioni. Inventare idee. Il flusso creativo arriva sempre ed è la parte più eccitante di tutto il percorso. Quando si è nel flusso del lavoro, le cose appaiono e si sentono benissimo.

Penso che spesso - quando le cose non sembrano avere senso o si è pianificato qualcosa che però non viene bene - sia critico immergersi nel processo di ricerca di cosa possa invece funzionare. È una grande soddisfazione quando alla fine si trova una soluzione.

Qual è l’outfit che meglio rappresenta NYC? Un paio di jeans, t-shirt bianca, giacca di pelle nera. Stivali rossi, occhiali da sole neri. E decisamente un atteggiamento cool.

Un look che passa dal giorno alla sera con pochi accorgimenti?

Pantaloni eleganti a pieghe a gamba larga per la comodità. Camicia oversize in seta perché è chic e trasmette sicurezza di sé. Aprire un bottone in più per mostrare un po’ di pelle e osare di più. Blazer doppiopetto perché significa che sei seria e determinata. Gioielli d’oro vistosi perché aggiungono un tocco femminile. Stivaletti a punta per allungare la figura. Comfort, facilità e femminilità. E un ampio sorriso.

Molti stilisti hanno cercato di creare una linea d’abbigliamento che confondesse il confine tra moda e installazione artistica.

Qual è la tua idea in merito? Riesci a immaginarne una?

Non ho così tanto talento. Lascio che se ne occupino Jonathan Anderson e Galliano.

L’outfit più stravagante che hai mai creato per una cliente?

L’originalità è sempre una sfida, dovendo mantenere un bell’aspetto. Quando ero più giovane, ho creato un abito con cravatte da uomo per nascondere le parti intime.

Non sono sicura che lo ripeterei, ma all’epoca fu divertente!

C’è un libro o un film per cui ti piacerebbe creare lo styling dall’inizio alla fine?

Adoro Charles Bukowski. Quindi, vorrei fare styling per qualsiasi cosa che riguardi lui. Le sue parole, anche se possono spaventarmi e a volte farmi arrabbiare, mi hanno sempre provocato emozioni molto intense.

C’è un accessorio “ugly-chic” che ami segretamente ma che non piacerebbe a nessuno?

Credo i “calzini bianchi” con tutto! Sempre. Hahaha.

Condividi un recente momento cruciale della tua carriera in cui un particolare progetto ha influenzato in modo significativo il tuo approccio allo styling e ha plasmato la tua direzione creativa.

Direi che tutti i miei clienti e tutti i marchi con cui lavoro mi hanno insegnato cose che mi influenzano. Ognuno ha un punto di vista diverso e io apprezzo ciascuno di loro. Lavorare con marchi come Alice + Olivia e L’AGENCE è stata un’esperienza incredibile, per imparare come elevare l’abbigliamento contemporaneo. Lavorare con clienti privati mi insegna a capire meglio cosa vogliono le donne. Disegnare la mia collezione per Equipment è stato il progetto dei miei sogni: il processo di affidarmi al mio istinto è spaventoso ma di grande soddisfazione.

Come riesci a gestire più progetti contemporaneamente alla tua vita privata di mamma di due bambini?

Purtroppo, non riesco a gestire bene nulla. Mi sveglio alle cinque.

Lascio i miei figli a scuola e poi impazzisco finché il lavoro non è finito. Mi destreggio tra molte cose e non ho un equilibrio tra lavoro e vita privata. Mi piace allenarmi, mangio sano e non bevo.

L’unica cosa che faccio, a meno che non ci sia un’emergenza, è prendermi i fine settimana e passarli con i miei figli a fare quello che loro vogliono. Li metto a letto il 99% delle volte durante la settimana perché il bacio della buonanotte è molto importante per me.

Mi assicuro che sappiano di essere adorati, ma che sappiano anche che la mamma ama troppo i vestiti e il suo lavoro, e questo va benissimo. Spero che un giorno anche loro trovino qualcosa che li appaghi tanto da volerlo fare tutto il giorno, tutti i giorni. >

Meet Sofia Karvela, a straight-shooting dynamo whose honesty and wit cut through the noise like a laser in the fashion world.

A passionate stylist who infuses her work with a deep sense of storytelling and her own unique imprint.

As a renowned stylist based in New York City, how do you stay ahead of the curve in such a fast-paced and dynamic industry?

I thrive in chaos and I feed off of the unstoppable New York energy.

Competition is a big drive and I’m constantly inspired by street styles and the city’s vibe.

You have different facets: stylist, creative director, costume designer, entrepreneur. Which one is your favorite and why?

I love being in full control so I’ll go with Creative Director. It gives me the ability to be in charge from A to Z, and I get to see my vision through without somebody else’s ideas and rules. The most important thing about my job is being able to accomplish a visual that truly inspires women to dress up and go into the world and rock it.

You started working in “Sex and the city” with Patricia Field.

What are the most important lessons you learned from that experience?

To always have a Plan B. To be able to be reactive. To not be scared to try new things. To be innovative. To dare to mix and not match. To remember to tell a story, and to have intention in what I do.

How has your style changed over the years?

It has become what I like to call a “label whore”. Hahaha.

I used to go crazy on prints and trends and wanted to try things I knew I didn’t feel comfortable in then, because I wasn’t sure who I really was. Today I find myself confident in my skin. Anything stretchy that sticks to my body makes me uncomfortable. I don’t feel the need to be sexy and revealing. Let’s say I like to dress like a man. I value quality and fit more than anything. My life is too complicated and crazy to have my clothes also be, therefore I get my fix of funky looks that I create on other people, and for myself, I keep it simple, chic, and classic.

What is the magic touch that sets you apart from other stylists?

I pay close attention to the fit. The sleeves, the tuck, it has to feel worn and real.

Tell us about your creative process and what inspires you.

My whole world revolves around clothes. I need to be around clothes all day to feel comfortable. I do online deep dives into the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s runway and street styles.

I obsess over vintage shopping and I’m always fascinated by the oldies. I think very little has not been done, so I study the best and tweak things my way.

I look at people on the street. I take the train everywhere I go and just stare. But lately, nothing inspires me more than Milan’s street style.

Can you discuss a challenging project where you had to push the boundaries of conventional styling?

I don’t need to push any boundaries with clothes. Humans deal with enough problems to worry about clothes. I stick to ease. It’s important to be accurate in the story you’re telling and make sure that point comes across in every shot. Fashion emergencies can feel very real. Hahaha.

Can you tell us about one day at work when you were crazy busy but at the end of the day you felt most proud or had the most fun?

Honestly, that’s every day! It starts with having to put out a lot of fires. Come up with solutions. Come up with ideas. The creative flow always comes and that’s ultimately the most exciting part of it all. When you’re in the workflow things look and feel great.

I think a lot of the times, when some things may not make sense or you have planned for something that ultimately doesn’t end up looking good, getting into the process of finding what will work is very important and very satisfying in the end when everything comes together.

Which outfit best represents NYC? Blue jeans, white T-shirt, black leather jacket. Red boots, black sunglasses. Keep it cool.

An outfit that seamlessly transitions from day to night with just a few adjustments?

Dressy pleated wide-legged pants for comfort. Silky oversized shirt because it’s chic and confident. Open one extra button to show a little more skin and be a little more daring. Double-breasted blazer because it means business. Statement gold jewelry because it adds a feminine touch. Pointy booties to elongate. Comfort, ease, and femininity. And a wide smile.

Many designers have tried to create a clothing line that blurs the line between fashion and art installation. What is your take on that? Can you envision one?

I’m not that talented. I will leave Jonathan Anderson and Galliano to take that on.

The wildest outfit you have styled for a client?

Originality is always a challenge while keeping it look beautiful.

When I was younger, I created a dress out of men’s ties to hide the private parts. Not sure that I would ever repeat that, but it was fun at the time!

Is there a book or movie you would love to style entirely? Why? I love Charles Bukowski. So, anything by/about him I would want to style. His words, even though he can scare me, and sometimes piss me off, always provoked very intense emotions.

Do you have an “ugly-chic” item or accessory that you secretly love but no one would like?

I guess “White Socks” with everything! At all times. Hahaha.

Share a recent pivotal moment in your career when particular project significantly influenced your approach to styling and shaped your creative direction.

I would say that all my clients and all the brands that I work with have taught me things that influence me. Everybody has a different point of view and I value every single one. Working with brands such as Alice + Olivia and L’AGENCE has been an unbelievable experience, learning how to elevate contemporary clothing. Working with private clients teaches me to understand better what women want. Designing my own collection for Equipment has been my dream project, a scary yet very satisfying process of trusting my instincts.

How do you manage multiple projects simultaneously, with your personal life as a mom of 2 kids?

Unfortunately, I don’t manage anything too well.

I wake up at five. I drop off my kids at school and then go crazy till the job is done. I juggle a lot simultaneously and I don’t have a work-life balance. I love to work out, I eat healthy, and I don’t drink.

The one thing I do unless there’s an emergency, I take off the weekends and spend it with my kids doing whatever it is that they want. I put them to bed 99% of the time during the week because kissing them good night is very important to me.

I make sure that they know that they are adored but they also know that mommy loves clothes and her job way too much and that’s great. I hope that one day too they will find something that fulfills them just as much that they want to do it all day, every day.

ENCLÒ by Enea Burattoni

l marchio nasce nel 2019 con l’intento di offrire uno stile indipendente dalla stagionalità che accentui la personalità di chi ne indossa i capi. Tra i concetti chiave di Enclò emergono sicuramente la forte identità e la sicurezza in se stessi.

Con il suo marchio, Enea Burattoni, è alla continua ricerca di leggerezza e comfort senza mai dimenticare stile e design accattivanti. Egli stesso dichiara di avere una meta ambiziosa che persegue con un pizzico di presunzione, quella che gli permette di continuare a creare.

Chi le indossa deve poter esprimere se stesso in un tutt’uno con il prodotto di design.

Da dove nasce la sua passione e vocazione per il mondo della moda? È una passione che risale a quando avevo cinque anni e accompagnavo mia madre dal sarto locale. Rimanevo affascinato da come prendeva le misure perché era proprio lì che aveva inizio il processo che lo avrebbe portato alla realizzazione di capi perfettamente confezionati. Amavo anche i film della Golden Age Hollywoodiana, l’eleganza dei personaggi e dei loro abiti, tanto che ho lavorato quasi trent’anni negli Stati Uniti come stilista per brand che hanno vestito alcune delle celebrità più in voga del mondo dello spettacolo.

Qual è il designer che l’ha colpita di più di recente in passerella?

Mi hanno molto emozionato dall’inizio alla fine Prada, Miu Miu e Jil Sander, ma anche altri brand come Dries Van Noten e Stella McCartney. Inoltre, mi hanno colpito marchi più recenti come Duran Lantik e JordanLuca. Le considero realtà originali e mai scontate che sanno sempre sorprendermi piacevolmente.

Come nasce Enclò?

Nel 2018 sono tornato in Italia. Mi è sempre rimasta la passione per le calzature e, grazie anche ad un mio amico all’interno di quell’ambiente, dopo poco è nato Enclò che deriva in parte da enclosure.

La linea, che ricorda quella delle collant che si vede anche nel logo, deriva dal genio di Osvaldo Cavandoli ed è simbolo di continuità, di stile infinito, di purezza, di una bellezza semplice e mai banale.

Racconti una delle sue creazioni più iconiche.

Due tra le prime creazioni nate per Enclò sono Vela e Nodo, che io considero fondamentali per il marchio. Vela in particolare è stata realizzata in diverse altezze, modelli e materiali. L’obiettivo è fornire calzature uniche, ma adatte a diverse situazioni di utilizzo.

Dove andrebbe a fare shopping oggi e quali accessori moda acquisterebbe?

Mi recherei a Milano in Corso Como 10 e da Antonia, elegante boutique di design per uomo e donna. Inoltre, ho sempre avuto un debole per lo stile di Prada, ma farei un giretto anche a Londra, in particolare da Selfridges, Browns e Dover Street Market.

Se pensa a luoghi reali o al mondo della musica, delle opere d’arte, personaggi del cinema o quant’altro, che cosa o chi di recente le ha dato ispirazione o ha trovato interessante?

Il primo che mi viene in mente è Dave Brubeck, pianista e compositore statunitense. In particolare il brano “Take five” mi dà sempre la carica, ma mi sento di citare anche Philippe Glass String Quartet N° 5 e Kronos Quartet. In generale, vengo attratto moltissimo dall’architettura, sia quella che vedo dal vivo sia all’interno di libri ben fatti. Credo che per un creativo sia sempre una gioia vedere lo splendido realizzarsi delle opere dell’uomo e trarre ispirazione dalle forme e dai colori che ci regala la natura.

Quali pensa siano i trend che vedremo nelle prossime stagioni?

Il mio motto è Class versus Crass e credo che in generale si stia andando in quella direzione: volumi, leggerezza, comfort, dettagli di design sempre più ultra-personalizzati a dispetto della sovrabbondanza. >

ENCLÒ by Enea Burattoni The brand was founded in 2019 with the intention of offering a style independent of seasonality that accentuates the personality of the wearer. Among Enclò’s key concepts are a strong identity and self-confidence. With his brand, Enea Burattoni, is constantly searching for lightness and comfort without ever forgetting style and attractive design. He himself declares that he has an ambitious goal that he pursues with a hint of presumption, one that allows him to continue creating.

Where does your passion and vocation for the fashion world come from?

It is a passion that goes back to when I was five years old and I used to accompany my mother to the local tailor. I was fascinated by how she took measurements because it was there that the process that would lead to perfectly made garments began. I also loved the Golden Age Hollywood movies, the elegance of the characters and their clothes, so much so that I worked for almost 30 years in the US as a stylist for brands that dressed some of the hottest celebrities in show business.

How was Enclò born?

In 2018 I returned to Italy. I have always had a passion for footwear and, thanks also to a friend of mine within that environment, after a short time Enclò was born, which derives in part from enclosure.

The line, which is reminiscent of the tights that you can also see in the logo, comes from the genius of Osvaldo Cavandoli and is a symbol of continuity, of infinite style, of purity, of simple and never banal beauty.

Tell us about one of your most iconic creations.

Two of the first creations created for Enclò are Vela and Nodo, which I consider fundamental for the brand. Vela in particular was made in different heights, models and materials. The aim is to provide shoes that are unique but suitable for different situations of use. The wearer must be able to express himself in one with the design product.

Where would you go shopping today and which fashion accessories would you buy?

I would go to Corso Como 10 in Milan and to Antonia, an elegant design boutique for men and women. Also, I’ve always been partial to Prada’s style, but I would also take a little trip to London, especially Selfridges, Browns and Dover Street Market.

Which designer has impressed you most recently on the catwalk?

I was very moved from start to finish by Prada, Miu Miu and Jil Sander, but also by other brands such as Dries Van Noten and Stella McCartney. I was also impressed by more recent brands such as Duran Lantik and JordanLuca. I consider them to be original and never predictable brands that always know how to pleasantly surprise me.

If you think of real places or the world of music, works of art, film characters or whatever, what or who recently gave you inspiration or found you interesting?

The first one that comes to mind is Dave Brubeck, American pianist and composer. In particular the piece ‘Take five’ always gets me going, but I would also mention Philippe Glass String Quartet No. 5 and Kronos Quartet. In general, I am very attracted to architecture, whether I see it live or in well-crafted books. I think it is always a joy for a creative person to see the splendid realisation of man’s work and to draw inspiration from the shapes and colours that nature gives us.

What do you think are the trends we will see in the coming seasons?

My motto is Class versus Crass and I believe that in general we are going in that direction: volume, lightness, comfort, increasingly ultra-customised design details in spite of overabundance.

So, do you think fashion is changing?

In my opinion it is an evolution towards a globalisation of the local.

A struggle between the big and the small, between common and individual identity. A desire to declare oneself as part of an increasingly connected whole. Past, present and future intersecting, leaving room for the fascination of the unpredictable.

What are your present and future projects?

With Enclò I am working on a small collection but it is still in an embryonic state and I prefer not to anticipate anything. For a few years now I have also dedicated myself to consulting and I am collaborating with a historic brand in Bologna.

archio di calzature di lusso nato nel 2023, Minacapilli esprime la visione creativa della designer Andrea Minacapilli e interpreta in chiave moderna una “estetica rock’n’roll”. Laureata in Economia all’Università di San Gallo (Svizzera), Andrea Minacapilli, modella ed esperta di marketing e moda, ha sempre avuto una visione in mente: creare accessori che dessero potere alle donne forti, quelle che si fanno strada da sole, superando i confini, abbracciando e celebrando la propria femminilità per divenire musa di se stesse. Le sue scarpe sono gioielli che fanno confluire glamour, stili in tendenza e impeccabile artigianalità in una calzatura di lusso made in Italy.

Come si è avvicinata al mondo della moda?

La moda è sempre stata una parte importante della mia vita: da bambina mi divertivo a organizzare sfilate, finché a 15 anni ho partecipato al concorso internazionale per modelle Elite Model Look Switzerland e da allora ho lavorato nella moda come indossatrice per molti anni.

Ciò che amo dell’essere una stilista è l’intero processo che porta alla creazione finale: dall’ispirazione al momento creativo fino alla produzione che conduce a un risultato che mi rende finalmente felice. Il momento più bello per me è quando vedo una donna indossare le mie scarpe e si sente forte, sicura di sé, femminile e sexy.

Può descrivere una delle sue creazioni che considera iconica e che meglio rappresenta lo spirito del marchio?

Direi che due modelli della collezione di debutto sono iconici: il Mask Sandal, una novità nel design delle calzature grazie alla mascherina rimovibile che può anche essere indossata sul viso. È la

scarpa perfetta per una cena elegante dove si festeggia con gli amici. Il secondo modello iconico, di cui sono innamorata, è il Sex & Love Sandal: audace, unico, femminile e sexy, incarna il glamour di una musa moderna.

Parliamo più in generale della sua nuova collezione?

I tre sandali della collezione Love on Fire rappresentano il glamour di una notte inoltrata in cui si muove una musa moderna, audace, unica, che mostra in modo giocoso il suo amore. Tutti i sandali presentano un’estetica accattivante, sono scintillanti, per far brillare la persona che li indossa. Sono pensati per donne che si vestono di sicurezza come fosse il loro gioiello più prezioso, celebrando la vita e la femminilità divenendo muse di se stesse.

Qual è il vostro cliente e mercato di riferimento? Che tipo di prodotto cerca?

Il nostro cliente target ha un cuore internazionale e vive principalmente in città metropolitane come Zurigo, Londra, Parigi, Milano, Dubai o Miami; ama viaggiare e trascorre alcuni giorni in luoghi caldi come St. Tropez, Mykonos, Ibiza o St. Moritz. Apprezzano e investono in prodotti di lusso di alta qualità, eccezionali, esclusivi e che sottolineano la loro personalità.

Se dovesse uscire a fare shopping, in quale negozio si recherebbe e quale accessorio moda comprerebbe?

Mi piace scoprire nuovi marchi e scovare pezzi unici che non si trovano ovunque. Per questo motivo preferisco fare acquisti nelle aree dedicate agli stilisti emergenti all’interno dei grandi magazzini o nei negozi multimarca con una selezione unica di nuovi marchi naturalmente, le scarpe sono la mia prima scelta perché possono cambiare l’intero outfit. >

Qual è lo stilista che l’ha maggiormente colpita di recente in passerella e perché?

Adoro Anthony Vaccarello: i suoi modelli senza tempo e la sua estetica rock’n’roll con un tocco di chic parigino sono eleganti, sexy e altamente riconoscibili.

C’è un luogo, una musica, un personaggio, un film o un libro che ha attirato la sua attenzione e che è diventato fonte di ispirazione per le sue creazioni di moda?

Ibiza è il mio luogo dell’anima e che visito ogni anno: la gente, la natura e l’atmosfera che vi si respira sono una costante fonte di ispirazione. Rappresenta tutte le cose che amo. Quel luogo mi ha fornito l’ispirazione per la nuova collezione: il sentimento dell’amore in tutte le sue sfaccettature. Con questa collezione ho voluto recuperare l’approccio giocoso all’amore e al flirt, da cui il nome Love on Fire. Credo che, anche quando si invecchia, non si debba mai perdere quel senso giocoso dell’amore, la gioia del flirt e il piacere di sentirsi attraenti per un’altra persona. Credo che questi sentimenti siano sempre attuali e non passino mai di moda.

Parliamo di sostenibilità: cosa significa per Minacapilli?

Come marchio di calzature di lusso, diamo importanza al design e alla qualità senza tempo, in modo che le nostre scarpe durino per tutta la vita e si contrappongano alla tendenza del fast-fashion.

Stiamo anche sperimentando nuovi materiali sostenibili con cui vorremmo lavorare in futuro.

How did you come to the fashion world?

Fashion has always been an important part of my life: as a child I used to have fun doing fashion shows, then at the age of 15 I took part in the international modeling competition Elite Model Look Switzerland and from then on I worked as a model in the fashion world for many years.

What I love about being a fashion designer is the whole process that leads to the final creation - from the inspiration to the creative moment to the transformation process that leads to a result that makes me finally happy. The most beautiful moment for me is when I see a woman wearing my shoes and feeling strong, confident, feminine, and sexy in them.

Can you describe one of your creations that you consider iconic and that best represents the spirit of the brand?

I would say two styles from the debut collection are iconic: the

Mask Sandal, a novelty in shoe design because of the removable mask that can be worn over the face - the perfect shoe for a dinner party in a fancy location where you are celebrating with friends.

The second iconic model I’m in love with is the Sex & Love Sandal – it’s bold, unique, feminim and sexy, and embodies the glamour of the modern muse.

Can you tell us about your new collection?

The three sandals from the Love on Fire collection are late night glamour for the modern muse who is bold, unique, and playfully shows how she loves. All sandals have an eye-catching aesthetic, with a sparkle that makes the person wearing them shine. They are designed for women who wear their confidence as their most precious jewel, celebrating life and femininity by being their own muse.

What is your target customer and market? What kind of product is it looking for?

Our target customer is an international heart and lives mainly in metropolitan cities such as Zurich, London, Paris, Milan, Dubai, or Miami, love to travel, and mostly spend some days in hot spot places such as St. Tropez, Mykonos, Ibiza, or St. Moritz. They appreciate and invest in high-quality luxury products that are exceptional, exclusive and emphasize their personality.

Is there a place, music, character, film or book that has recently caught your attention and also become a source of inspiration for your fashion creations?

Ibiza is my soul place I visit every year - the people, nature, and vibe here are a constant source of inspiration for me and bring together all the things I love. And that gave me the inspiration behind the new collection: the feeling of love in all its facets. With this collection I wanted to recover the playful approach to love and flirtation, hence the name Love on Fire. I think that even as you get older, you should never lose that playful sense of love, the joy of flirtation, and the pleasure of feeling attractive to another person. I think these feelings are always relevant and never go out of style.

Let’s talk about sustainability: what does it mean for Minacapilli?

As a luxury footwear brand, we value timeless design and quality so that our shoes last a lifetime and stand against the fast fashion trend. We are also currently experimenting with new sustainable materials that we would like to work with in the future.

If you had to go out shopping, what store and fashion accessory would you buy in?

I love discovering new brands and finding unique pieces that can’t be found everywhere.

That’s why I prefer to shop in up-and-coming designers’ area in department stores or in multi-brand stores with a unique selection of new brands - of course, shoes are my first choice as they can change the whole outfit.

Which designer has most impressed you recently on the runway and why?

I love Anthony Vaccarello - his timeless designs and rock’n’roll aesthetic with Parisian chic are elegant, sexy and highly recognizable.

Mi tuffo sempre per vincere. Perché solo vincere mi fa sorridere”. Alessandro Miressi deve sorridere parecchio, visto che lo sprinter italiano, specialista dei 100 metri stile libero, negli ultimi anni è diventato campione europeo a Glasgow (2018), oro mondiale in vasca corta ad Abu Dhabi (2021); ha registrato a Budapest, sempre nel 2021, e tutt’ora detiene il record nazionale dei 100 metri (47”53). Forse il sorriso più smagliante lo ha sfoggiato in quanto velocista delle staffette 4x100 stile libero e 4x100 mista, che hanno conquistato l’argento e il bronzo a Tokyo 2020. Cosa accadrà ora? Non vediamo l’opra di scoprirlo, al grido: “Vola, Ale-Jet, vola!”

Alessandro Miressi must be smiling a lot, as the Italian sprinter, a 100-meter freestyle specialist, in recent years became European champion in Glasgow (2018), world gold medalist in the short track in Abu Dhabi (2021); recorded in Budapest, also in 2021, and still holds the national 100-meter record (47”53). Perhaps his most dazzling smile was as the sprinter of the 4x100 freestyle and 4x100 mixed relays, which won silver and bronze at Tokyo 2020.

What will happen next? We can’t wait to find out, to the cry: “Fly, Ale-Jet, fly!”

Awareness to be trendsetters

L

e tendenze di stile ci aiutano a definire, decifrare e comprendere meglio un’epoca: da quelle più piccole e, apparentemente, insignificanti a quelle macro che arrivano nel guardaroba di chiunque, o quasi.

Ecco perché i trend, ciò che indosseremo nelle prossime stagioni, i capi che vivremo e ameremo, sono una faccenda che riguarda tutti.

Per la primavera/estate 2024 il fashion system prevede un macroprocesso di commercializzazione dei prodotti, talvolta sacrificando lo storytelling, essenziale per un capo destinato alla vendita che sia qualitativamente soddisfacente.

Non esiste, quindi, qualcosa che meriti di essere analizzato? Assolutamente no.

Ora, più che mai, è necessario studiare le tendenze e comprendere perché, per esempio, saremo portati a vestire con abiti dalla forte connotazione sartoriale, borse dall’allure vintage e micro-tacchi dalla punta affilatissima.

Il *revival del guardaroba vintage* è un’onda che, prima o poi, toccherà tutti i consumatori, un frangente in continua crescita. La marea influenza e coinvolge fortemente le grandi aziende, che si rifugiano negli amati archivi per recuperare ciò che può essere più fruibile a livello commerciale e, al contempo, descrivere un’epoca.

Ricordiamo bene, qualche anno fa, il ritorno delle Gucci Jackie, ma anche la virale Le Cagole di Balenciaga che cavalcava il trend degli y2k oppure ancora, più di recente, la Baguette di Fendi che, alimentata del fenomeno di “Sex and the city”, ha anch’essa ritrovato la sua dimensione.

In generale le tendenze per la prossima estate, ma non solo, prevedono un ritorno di quella moda già registrata dalle nostre menti e che è rimasta nell’immaginario collettivo, qualcosa che, fondamentalmente, non ha nulla di nuovo e, di conseguenza, non può spaventare. A differenza di una reale innovazione.

Donatella Versace, per esempio, con la sua primavera/estate 2024, propone un processo di “glamourizzazione” di un costume anni ‘50 e ‘60 estremamente delicato da affrontare, composto da tailleur “da signora”, forcine-gioiello e borsette dal forte richiamo al passato. Glamourizzazione che la donna libera e forte vestita Versace si può permettere. Il tutto, naturalmente, tradotto in quell’aura scintillante che distingue la casa della Medusa.

Un altro, gettonatissimo, trend che ultimamente fa innamorare i più giovani è il cosiddetto *“quiet luxury”*, composto da dolcevita in cashmere Loro Piana e giacca e pantalone sartoriali Ralph Lauren, il tutto incorniciato da un immancabile mocassino Hermès.

I look del “lusso silenzioso” rimuovono ogni logo a vista snellendo l’insieme con toni neutri che vanno dal nero al blu, dal bianco al beige. La tendenza presenta punti in comune con la scuola del minimalismo che vede nelle complicazioni e negli eccessi qualcosa di cui fare a meno, da lasciare in disparte per evitare potenziali distrazioni. C’è bisogno di capi semplici e pratici, capi che si adattino al lavoro dinamico e intellettuale e che siano condivisibili dalle persone comuni. *Il mondo dei mestieri sta ufficialmente tornando di moda* e lo notiamo con l’uomo Fendi che ambienta la sua primavera/estate 2024 in un laboratorio di pelletteria e che propone accessori pratici e concreti, caratterizzati da tasche e borse porta bevande. Anche con Tod’s, che sigla l’ultima collaborazione con Walter Chiapponi e le sue cinture anch’esse in stile “tuttofare”. Oppure ancora con Bottega Veneta, per cui Matthieu Blazy analizza il costume da lavoro milanese, e con Balenciaga che, al primo impatto, sembrerebbe non proporre nulla di pratico, ma dopo uno sguardo più attento rivela borse dalle fattezze trasandate e cariche di accessori (omaggio alla leggendaria Jane Birkin mancata di recente) in cui la capienza è l’ultimo dei problemi così da conformarsi alle necessità di un lavoratore.

Nonostante imperversi la rigorosa tendenza del lavoro non si rinuncia a qualche cenno di divertimento come con gli *abiti slip* e *l’intimo a vista*. Ricordano una donna moderna che sente il bisogno di coprirsi, ma anche scoprirsi, quando lo ritiene più opportuno.

Un dato confortante perché ci ricorda che la possibile pericolosità di un costume, talvolta portavoce di censure in nome del “buongusto” e dell’”eleganza”, sembrerebbe non coinvolgere più di tanto la donna contemporanea che dimostra una consapevolezza e un’ironia in grado di non farla sfigurare nemmeno in presenza di trend “facili”.

Dagli abitini luccicanti del neoeletto direttore creativo di Gucci, Sabato De Sarno, alle ormai iconiche mutande di Miu Miu, coniugate in ogni sfumatura di stile e materiale, fino ad arrivare a un’accurata selezione di capi dall’armadio della nonna (o dal mercatino della domenica), la donna (ma, per fortuna, anche l’uomo) sta sviluppando una consapevolezza sempre più necessaria e indispensabile durante l’acquisto. È, infatti, con questa consapevolezza, conoscendo la storia e i retroscena di un capo d’abbigliamento, dall’ideazione alla manifattura, dall’attenzione per la sostenibilità alla valenza socioculturale che noi tutti possiamo fare la differenza e rimanere coinvolti nelle tendenze. È nostro compito affrontarle e viverle con cautela e circospezione per circondarci di un guardaroba davvero sostenibile che possiamo, effettivamente sfruttare evitando un sempre più malato e distruttivo consumo fine a se stesso.

Style trends help us define, decipher and better understand an era: from the smallest and, seemingly, insignificant ones to the macro ones that arrive in everyone’s wardrobe, or almost anyone’s.

That is why trends, what we will wear in the coming seasons, the garments we will experience and love, are everyone’s business.

For spring/summer 2024, the fashion system envisions a macroprocess of marketing products, sometimes sacrificing storytelling, which is essential for a garment intended for sale that is qualitatively satisfying.

Is there not, therefore, something worth analyzing? Absolutely not.

Now, more than ever, it is necessary to study trends and understand why, for example, we will be inclined to dress in clothes with a strong sartorial connotation, bags with a vintage allure, and micro-heels with a razor-sharp point.

The *revival of the vintage wardrobe* is a wave that, sooner or later, will touch all consumers, a growing fringe. The tide strongly influences and involves big companies, which take refuge in beloved archives to recover what can be most commercially usable and, at the same time, describe an era. We remember well, a few years ago, the return of the Gucci Jackie, but also Balenciaga’s viral Le Cagole that rode the y2k trend or even, more recently, Fendi’s Baguette that, fueled by the “Sex and the city” phenomenon, has also found its dimension again.

In general, the trends for next summer, but not only, involve a return of that fashion that has already registered in our minds and remained in the collective imagination, something that, basically, has nothing new and, consequently, cannot scare. Unlike real innovation.

Donatella Versace, for example, with her spring/summer 2024, proposes a process of “glamorization” of a 50s and 60s costume that is extremely delicate to deal with, consisting of “ladylike” suits, jewel-pins, and handbags with a strong reference to the past.

Glamorization that the free and strong woman dressed Versace can afford. All, of course, translated into that glittering aura that distinguishes the house of Medusa.

Another, very popular, trend that has younger people falling in love with it lately is the so-called *”quiet luxury “*, consisting of Loro Piana cashmere turtleneck and Ralph Lauren tailored jacket and pants, all framed by an ever-present Hermès loafer.

The “silent luxury” looks remove any visible logos by streamlining the ensemble with neutral tones ranging from black to blue and white to beige. The trend has points in common with the school of minimalism, which sees complications and excess as something to be done without, to be left behind to avoid potential distractions.

There is a need for simple and practical garments, garments that are suited to dynamic and intellectual work and that can be shared by ordinary people. *The world of trades is officially coming back into fashion* and we notice this with the Fendi man who sets his spring/summer 2024 in a leather workshop and offers practical, down-to-earth accessories featuring pockets and beverage bags. Also with Tod’s, which seals its latest collaboration with Walter Chiapponi and his belts also styled “handyman.” Or again with Bottega Veneta, for which Matthieu Blazy analyzes the Milanese work costume, and with Balenciaga, which, at first glance, would seem to propose nothing practical, but after a closer look reveals bags with scruffy features and loaded with accessories (homage

to the legendary Jane Birkin who passed away recently) in which capacity is the least of the problems so as to conform to the needs of a worker.

Despite the raging of the strict work trend, there is no shortage of nods to fun as with the *slip dresses* and *visible underwear*. They are reminiscent of a modern woman who feels the need to cover up as well as uncover herself when she sees fit.

This is a comforting fact because it reminds us that the possible dangerousness of a costume, sometimes the spokesperson for censure in the name of “good taste” and “elegance,” would seem not to involve the contemporary woman so much, who demonstrates an awareness and irony that does not make her disfigure even in the presence of “easy” trends.

From the shimmering dresses of Gucci’s newly elected creative director, Sabato De Sarno, to Miu Miu’s now iconic knickers, conjugated in every nuance of style and material, to a careful selection of garments from grandma’s closet (or from the Sunday market), women (but, fortunately, men as well) are developing an increasingly necessary and indispensable awareness while shopping. It is, in fact, with this awareness, knowing the history and background of a garment, from conception to manufacture, from attention to sustainability to sociocultural significance that we can all make a difference and stay involved in trends.

It is our job to face them and live them with caution and circumspection to surround ourselves with a truly sustainable wardrobe that we can, effectively take advantage of while avoiding an increasingly unhealthy and destructive consumption for its own sake.

Ulysses: Upcycling Looks

L

a collezione Upcycle, di Miriam Pellegrin, grida la volontà di scappare dalla propria condizione, che insegue l’esuberanza, l’individualità, che desidera suscitare emozioni, stupore e bramosia.

Attraverso sperimentazioni e lavorazioni, la collezione di Miriam Pellegrin vuole stimolare nell’osservatore un senso di meraviglia e di desiderio, di scovare qualcosa che va oltre a ciò che si vede.

“La mia collezione parte dal romanzo di Joyce, Ulysses, fuso con il personaggio della Marchesa Luisa Casati Stampa” - afferma Pellegrin - “L’uomo inetto e la donna opera d’arte, due modi completamente diversi di affrontare l’esistenza, ma con la stessa forte volontà di scappare dalla propria condizione.

La Marchesa aveva la passione per lo sfarzo e gli animali esotici, infatti, nelle sue immense ville teneva leopardi, pavoni e merli. Miriam Pellegrin ha voluto rappresentare questa esuberanza all’interno della sua capsule, ma nel rispetto delle esigenze del mondo moderno. Ha sperimentato la tecnica dell’upcycling andando alla ricerca di materiali e tessuti di recupero alcuni acquistati al mercato mentre altri appartenenti al proprio passato, vecchi abiti che da tempo non venivano più indossati. Il primo look è composto da una cintura, una gonna in pelliccia e una gonna in pizzo con strascico. La cinta è un bomber in pelle fatto a strisce cucite assieme, mentre la fibbia è stata ricavata da una vecchia cintura. La gonna in pelliccia è cucita a mano, si tratta di vero pelo di volpe, un capospalla scomposto. Della gonna con strascico invece sono stati riciclati i materiali delle balze: metri e metri di strisce di pizzo di diverse pezze per riuscire a finire il capo in modo da non pesare troppo sull’ambiente.

Il secondo look è composto da un maglione ricamato e una gonna con strascico piena di balze di tessuti diversi. Il ricamo preziosissimo fatto a mano con uno stupendo pizzo macramè pescato dalle ceste nelle mercerie incrostato con gli ultimi lembi di pelliccia avanzati dalla gonna del primo outfit. La gonna è ricoperta da piccole balze nere di diversi materiali, provenienti da vecchi vestiti e dalle ceste delle mercerie. Con il terzo look, l’Albatro e l’Acqua, ho voluto raccontare la storia di un maestoso albatro che, calatosi nel mare a pescare, viene investito dalle onde nere di petrolio. Ne riemerge pregno del denso liquido e non più capace di volare. L’acqua è un bene sempre più prezioso, che a causa dell’attività dell’uomo è sempre più scarso sul pianeta. Causa di ciò è l’inquinamento, che può essere di diverse forme, ma io ho deciso di soffermarmi su quello da petrolio. Solo nel Mar Mediterraneo ogni anno si contano 200 mila imbarcazioni che trasportano oltre 360 milioni di tonnellate di greggio, che purtroppo rischiano di finire in mare, distruggendo gli ecosistemi.

L’abito è stato studiato in modo asimmetrico, si mostra diviso a metà per il lungo: l’albatro a sinistra e il mare invasivo a destra. La scelta dei materiali è stata fatta in modo da rendere l’abito il più possibile ecologico. La tela di cotone riciclato è la base dell’abito e materiale di tutte le balze, mentre la struttura della spalla è stata arricchita con le piume, ritagliate dalle camere d’aria delle biciclette ormai esauste e in procinto di essere buttate. Questa tecnica upcycling aiuta l’ambiente, riducendo gli sprechi: è ciò che la moda cerca oggi. Per dare movimento e corpo al drappeggio in cotone (le onde), sono state utilizzate bende gessate, fissate alla sua base. Infine, per il colore, è stata creata una sfumatura con diversi colori acrilici spray, sovrapposti.

The Upcycle collection, by Miriam Pellegrin, screams the desire to escape from one’s own condition, to pursue exuberance, individuality, to arouse emotions, astonishment and longing.

Through experimentation and workmanship, Miriam Pellegrin’s collection aims to stimulate in the observer a sense of wonder and desire, to discover something beyond what is seen. “My collection starts from Joyce’s novel, Ulysses, fused with the character of the Marchesa Luisa Casati Stampa,” says Pellegrin. “The inept man and the work of art woman, two completely different ways of dealing with existence, but with the same strong desire to escape from their condition.

The Marquise had a passion for pomp and exotic animals, in fact, she kept leopards, peacocks and blackbirds in her immense villas.

Miriam Pellegrin wanted to represent this exuberance within her capsule, but with respect for the demands of the modern world.

She has experimented with the technique of upcycling by searching for recycled materials and fabrics, some purchased at the market and others belonging to her own past, old clothes that had not been worn for some time.

The first look consists of a belt, a fur skirt and a lace skirt with a train.

The belt is a leather bomber jacket made of strips sewn together, while the buckle was made from an old belt. The fur skirt is handsewn, it is real fox fur, a dishevelled outerwear. Of the skirt with a train, on the other hand, the materials of the flounces were recycled: metres and metres of lace strips of different lengths to be able to finish the garment so as not to weigh too heavily on the environment.

The second look consists of an embroidered jumper and a skirt with

a train full of flounces of different fabrics. The precious embroidery is handmade with a wonderful macramé lace fished out of baskets in haberdashers encrusted with the last fur flaps left over from the skirt of the first outfit. The skirt is covered with small black flounces of different materials from old clothes and haberdashery baskets. With the third look, the Albatross and Water, I wanted to tell the story of a majestic albatross who, having gone down into the sea to fish, is hit by black waves of oil. He emerges filled with the dense liquid and no longer able to fly. Water is an increasingly precious commodity that is becoming scarce on the planet due to human activity. The cause of this is pollution, which can take many forms, but I have decided to focus on oil pollution. In the Mediterranean Sea alone, there are 200,000 vessels transporting over 360 million tonnes of crude oil every year, which unfortunately risk ending up in the sea, destroying ecosystems.

The dress has been designed asymmetrically, it is split in half lengthwise: the albatross on the left and the invasive sea on the right. The choice of materials was made to make the dress as ecofriendly as possible. Recycled cotton canvas is the basis of the dress and material of all the flounces, while the shoulder structure has been enriched with feathers, cut from the inner tubes of bicycles that are now exhausted and about to be thrown away. This upcycling technique helps the environment by reducing waste, which is what fashion is looking for today. To give movement and body to the cotton drape (the waves), chalky bandages were used and attached to its base. Finally, for the colour, a shade was created with different acrylic spray colours, overlaid.

Susy Zhang e Jieru Yang sono partite immaginando un futuro distopico. Come affermano loro stesse “un mondo tra 150 anni in cui immaginiamo che gli unici elementi riconducibili alla natura saranno le nostre collezioni. Siamo consapevoli dell’impatto negativo che l’industria della moda ha sul consumo di risorse, sull’energia e sull’inquinamento ambientale. Pertanto, abbiamo deciso di essere leader nello sviluppo sostenibile, esplorando e promuovendo la produzione e il design eco-friendly”. Vogliono essere un esempio per l’industria della moda, utilizzando tessuti con tinture completamente vegetali e biomateriali creati con rifiuti speciali, come gli scarti di avocado. I materiali biobased rappresentano un’alternativa alla pelle animale, sono realizzati con sostanze naturali, estratti vegetali e scarti alimentari, questo li rende biodegradabili al 100%. Per i designers di oggi è indispensabile ripensare anche alla scelta dei materiali con cui produrre le nuove creazioni.

Il mondo ha bisogno di prodotti che possano essere smaltiti e riciclati e che derivino essi stessi da materiali di recupero.

Con il progredire delle tecniche di produzione dei materiali biobased diventa sempre più possibile creare prodotti simili alla pelle, alla plastica e al PVC. Si tratta di una scelta che contribuisce a proteggere l’ambiente e promuovere uno sviluppo industriale più sostenibile.

Susy Zhang and Jieru Yang started by imagining a dystopian future. As they put it, "a world 150 years from now where we imagine that the only elements that can be traced back to nature will be our collections. We are aware of the negative impact the fashion industry has on resource consumption, energy and environmental pollution. Therefore, we have decided to be a leader in sustainable development, exploring and promoting eco-friendly production and design. They want to set an example for the fashion industry by using fabrics with completely vegetable dyes and biomaterials created from special waste, such as avocado waste.

Bio-based materials are an alternative to animal skin, they are made from natural substances, plant extracts and food waste, making them 100% biodegradable. For today's designers, it is also essential to rethink the choice of materials with which to produce new creations. The world needs products that can be disposed of and recycled and that are themselves derived from recovered materials.

With the advancement of bio-based material production techniques, it is becoming increasingly possible to create products similar to leather, plastic and PVC. This is a choice that helps to protect the environment and promote more sustainable industrial development.

È Pitti Uomo il palcoscenico scelto per presentare l’evoluzione FW24 della capsule ACBC X Garmont, che vede protagonista il modello LAGOM, 100% vegan e a ridotto impatto di CO2. In versione Low e Mid, per uomo e donna, la calzatura sporty presenta volumi ampi, tipici dello stile streetwear e alcuni elementi outdoor come il puntalino, la chiusura fast lace e i tasselli intagliati nel battistrada. Fondamentale, la consulenza di ACBC che ha portato in primo piano materiali certificati e sostenibili. Il tessuto principale della tomaia è il RePET, materiale riciclato post-consumo proveniente dalle bottiglie di plastica a fine vita. L’intersuola bio-based in EVA è derivata dalla canna da zucchero, mentre il battistrada Garmont GTF EMERALD è in ReRUBBER, ottenuto dagli scarti di lavorazione della gomma.

Pitti Uomo is the stage chosen to present the FW24 evolution of the ACBC X Garmont capsule, featuring the LAGOM model, 100% vegan and with reduced CO2 impact. In Low and Mid versions, for men and women, the sporty footwear features large volumes, typical of streetwear style, and some outdoor elements such as the toecap, fast lace fastening and gussets carved into the tread. Crucially, ACBC's consultancy brought certified and sustainable materials to the forefront. The main fabric of the upper is RePET, a post-consumer recycled material from end-of-life plastic bottles. The bio-based EVA midsole is derived from sugar cane, while the Garmont GTF EMERALD tread is made of ReRUBBER, obtained from rubber processing waste.

Feeling good, at ease, at Maimai means wearing the right shoes, those in which comfort is absolute, thanks to the best materials and the most accurate workmanship. A 'cozy' style that is condensed in the Tableau Fur, the trainers specially weighed by the Salento brand for the cold season: a low-cut basket made of leather, suede and soft wool proposed in a mix of colours - Bordeaux, Tan and Blue - that recalls Mondrian's work of art, combined with a new two-tone extralight eva bottom, with a diamond pattern on the tread and embossed elements on the heel. BFShow: from Brazil to the world

Debutto molto promettente per la fiera organizzata da Abicalçados con il supporto di NürnbergMesse Brasil, che si è conclusa il 23 novembre scorso a Porto Alegre e che dà appuntamento alla prossima edizione di maggio a San Paolo.

na prima edizione molto promettente quella di Brazilian Footwear Show, la fiera organizzata dall’Associazione Brasiliana dell’Industria Calzaturiera in collaborazione con NürnbergMesse Brasil (uno dei 15 maggiori organizzatori di fiere al mondo), che si è svolta dal 21 al 23 novembre scorso a Porto Alegre, presso il Centro Eventi della Federazione delle Industrie dello Stato del Rio Grande do Sul (Fiergs). In fiera erano presenti 137 marchi, inclusi tutti i più importanti brand verdeoro conosciuti a livello internazionale e orgoglio della produzione manifatturiera del paese, nonché oltre il 70% dei cluster calzaturieri, di tutti i segmenti e di tutte le dimensioni dell’industria brasiliana.

Sul fronte dei visitatori, la manifestazione ha registrato un’ottima affluenza di pubblico, soprattutto a partire dal secondo giorno, con oltre 150 buyer provenienti da 30 Paesi, e un totale di 7.000 visitatori con una forte caratterizzazione internazionale.

“Per essere la prima edizione, BFSHOW ha superato di gran lunga le nostre aspettative. E non solo nel numero di visitatori, ma anche in rapporto agli accordi commerciali e alle conseguenti importanti discussioni per lo sviluppo dell’attività che si sono generati in fiera” ha affermato Haroldo Ferreira, presidente dell’Associazione Brasiliana dell’Industria Calzaturiera.

L’amministratore delegato della NürnbergMesse Brasil, João Paulo Picolo, ha sottolineato che l’industria calzaturiera brasiliana ha compreso l’importanza di avere un evento internazionale di qualità, capace di riunire le aziende di tutti i settori dell’industria della calzatura. “È una fiera nazionale che riunisce tutti i segmenti, le nicchie, le dimensioni e le regioni. Il Brasile è un Paese molto ricco, con una gigantesca catena di produzione di calzature, e la fiera ha saputo riflettere questa realtà”. Parlando con gli espositori, è emerso come BFShow abbia saputo attrarre l’interesse dei compratori internazionali interessati al Made in Brazil, in particolare quelli provenienti dal centro e sud America (in primis, Argentina) e dal mIddle East, che sono accorsi numerosi. Ricordiamo che “l’industria calzaturiera brasiliana l’anno scorso ha prodotto quasi 850 milioni di articoli ed è considerata la più grande dell’emisfero occidentale”, come ha sottolineato Haroldo Ferreira, presidente dell’Associazione Brasiliana dell’Industria Calzaturiera. D’altronde, ha evidenziato Ferreira, sin dall’inizio BFSHOW è partita proprio dalle aspettative e dalle esigenze del mercato - dalla vendita al dettaglio alla produzione – perseguendo l’idea di un evento effettivamente orientato al business. “È giusto sviluppare questa fiera insieme all’industria, ascoltando i desideri del mercato”, ha infatti affermato.

Il fatto che si tratti di una fiera incentrata sul business ha generato così non solo affari immediati, ma anche prospettive di vendita per il resto della stagione. “Molte vendite, che non sono state chiuse sul posto, sono già state concordate. Al di là dell’affluenza, soprattutto nei primi giorni, la fiera è stata efficace, come dovrebbe sempre essere un evento commerciale”, ha concluso Ferreira.

Tra i punti di forza legati dell’evento troviamo l’ottima organizzazione, la struttura e l’accoglienza della fiera in un’unica sede con un ampio parcheggio asfaltato, nonché un facile accesso all’aeroporto internazionale Salgado Filho.

Un occhio di riguardo è stato rivolto alla sostenibilità, come ci si poteva aspettare da una fiera che rappresenta l’industria calzaturiera più sostenibile al mondo e l’unica ad avere una certificazione ESG per la catena di produzione a livello internazionale. Tra le iniziative ESG ricordiamo l’impegno al riciclo e al riutilizzo dei materiali utilizzati nell’assemblaggio e nell’organizzazione della mostra, e lo spazio Sustainable Footwear, di cui sono state protagoniste dieci aziende green. Infine, l’area dedicata all’Origine Sostenibile, dove è stata presentata la certificazione ESG per la catena di produzione delle calzature e le sue aziende certificate, e lo Spazio Tendenze Sostenibili, sviluppate in partnership con INSPIRAMAIS. Ora si guarda con fiducia alla prossima edizione di BFShow, che si svolgerà dal 21 al 23 maggio 2024, questa volta al Transamerica Expo Center di San Paolo in Brasile, sfruttando in questo caso anche il grande hub aeroportuale di Guarulhos.

Brazil is a very rich country, with a gigantic footwear production chain, and the fair was able to reflect this reality’.

Talking to exhibitors, it emerged how BFShow was able to attract the interest of international buyers interested in Made in Brazil, especially those from Central and South America (primarily Argentina) and the mIddle East, who flocked to the show in large numbers. Let us recall that ‘the Brazilian footwear industry last year produced almost 850 million articles and is considered the largest in the western hemisphere,’ as Haroldo Ferreira, president of the Brazilian Footwear Industry Association, pointed out. On the other hand, Ferreira pointed out, from the very beginning BFShow started from the expectations and needs of the market - from retail to production - pursuing the idea of a truly business-oriented event.

Lastly, the Sustainable Origin area, where ESG certification for the footwear production chain and its certified companies was presented, and the Sustainable Trends Space, developed in partnership with INSPIRAMAIS. Now the focus is on the next edition of BFShow, which will take place from 21 to 23 May 2024, this time at the Transamerica Expo Center in São Paulo, Brazil, taking advantage of the large airport hub of Guarulhos.

Sempre nello stesso anno, Vulcabras S.A acquisisce Calçados Azaléia S/A. The history of the Brazilian company began back in 1952, with the foundation of Companhia Brasileira de Calçados Vulcanizados S.A. in the city of São Paulo - SP, specialising in the production of leather shoes with vulcanised rubber soles. These were the years in which the company launched the ‘752’, a national icon of men’s footwear, on the Brazilian market.

But it was in 1973 that Vulcabras began to focus on sports, managing international sports brands and producing high-performance sports shoes. In 1988, brothers Pedro and Alexandre Grendene Bartelle acquired control of Vulcabras S.A. and in 2007, a joint venture with Adidas was signed for the domestic and Argentinean markets. Also in the same year, Vulcabras S.A acquired Calçados Azaléia S/A. Other dates to remember in the company’s history are 2018 and 2021, when the agreements, still in place, with Under Armour and Mizuno for the exclusive licence in Brazil are signed.

Today, Vulcabras is the reference in Brazil for high performance sports, and increasingly so in Latin America, and there are plans to open up to Europe as well, with a pilot project for market penetration. An exhibition and a short film to celebrate Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags Il compleanno di Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags verrà festeggiato durante entrambe le manifestazioni del 2024, la 100esima edizione di gennaio e la 101esima a giugno.

The birthday of Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags will be celebrated during both 2024 events, the 100th edition in January and the 101st in June.

er celebrare questo importante traguardo della fiera rivana sono in programma diverse iniziative. L'intenzione è di coinvolgere tutta la comunità che ruota attorno alla manifestazione, anche coloro che partecipano solo a uno dei due appuntamenti per questioni di stagionalità.

In particolare per questa edizione, è stata organizzata in data 14 gennaio la Celebration Night. Una vera festa che verrà celebrata insieme a tutti coloro che hanno reso possibile Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags partecipando a molte delle cento edizioni. Senza svelare troppo, durante la serata è prevista la presentazione di un cortometraggio e una mostra fotografica in cui si ripercorreranno le 5 decadi di storia della manifestazione.

Verrà realizzata anche una monografia, poi presentata per l’edizione di giugno del salone, che prevede testimonianze, protagonisti ed esperienze di queste 100 edizioni. L’intento è di offrire un'immersione nella storia unica di Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags. Ma non finisce qui, per omaggiare la location che due volte l’anno accoglie la community della calzatura e degli accessori, sono stati pensati anche vari allestimenti in città.

Various initiatives are planned to celebrate this important milestone of the fair of Riva del Garda. The intention is to involve the entire community that revolves around the event, even those who only attend one of the two events due to seasonal issues.

In particular for this edition, a Celebration Night has been organised on 14 January. A real party that will be celebrated together with all those who have made Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags possible by participating in many of the hundred editions. Without revealing too much, the evening will feature the presentation of a short film and a photographic exhibition retracing the five decades of the event's history.

There will also be a monograph, which will be presented for the June edition of the fair, featuring testimonies, protagonists and experiences of these 100 editions. The intention is to offer an immersion in the unique history of Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags. Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags, sostenibilità a tutto campo, anche charity

D Da molti anni gli organizzatori adottano strategie che consentano all’evento di essere sempre più sostenibile: attenzione all’ambiente, alle persone e all’impatto sociale, come il nuovo progetto di charity con Soles4Soul.

a circa un decennio la fiera di Riva del Garda ha attivato progetti che le consentissero di compiere un percorso verso la sostenibilità che fosse concreto e ben strutturato e, soprattutto, che considerasse le varie sfaccettature di un tema così complesso.

Partiamo dall’ambiente: è stato implementato durante tutte le manifestazioni un complesso processo di raccolta differenziata dei rifiuti.

Agli espositori è stata offerta la possibilità di realizzare i loro stand affidandosi alla divisione allestimenti della manifestazione votata alla realizzazione di strutture altamente sostenibili.

Sono state attivate collaborazioni con fornitori che offrissero servizi all’avanguardia nell’ottica del rispetto dell’ambiente (come per il riciclo della moquette utilizzata durante le manifestazioni). È stato messo a disposizione di tutti coloro che partecipano alla fiera un sistema di navette e shuttle bus che permette di ridurre notevolmente l’impatto ambientale di una manifestazione che sposta migliaia di persone.

Parlando di persone, l’evento rappresenta una delle migliori dimostrazioni di inclusività applicata al business grazie al coinvolgimento di aziende di ogni parte del mondo, puntando sui grandi colossi internazionali, ma anche su Paesi cosiddetti emergenti.

L’impegno per implementare una digitalizzazione generalizzata dei servizi ha avuto come esito non solo quello di rendere innovativo l’approccio all’evento, ma anche di coinvolgere il maggior numero possibile di operatori del settore, ovunque si trovino.

E sempre pensando alle persone, Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags ha da poco attivato un interessante Charity Program. Una collaborazione con Soles4Souls, organizzazione che trasforma scarpe e indumenti inutilizzati in opportunità, evitando che vadano sprecati e facendone un buon uso, fornendo assistenza, creando posti di lavoro e consentendo alle persone di uscire da una situazione di povertà. Dal 2006, i sostenitori e partner di Soles4Souls hanno evitato che oltre 81 milioni di chili di prodotti tessili finissero nelle discariche (tra cui oltre 53 milioni di paia di scarpe!) e li hanno distribuiti in 137 Paesi.

Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags punta ad aiutare Soles4Souls a raggiungere il suo principale obbiettivo: avere un impatto economico sulla società di 1 miliardo di dollari entro il 2030.

Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags, all-out sustainability, also charity For many years the organizers have been adopting strategies that enable the event to be increasingly sustainable: attention to the environment, people and social impact, such as the new charity project with Soles4Soul.

For about a decade, the Riva del Garda fair has been activating projects that would allow it to take a path toward sustainability that was concrete and well-structured and, above all, that considered the various facets of such a complex issue.

Let's start with the environment: a complex process of waste sorting was implemented during all the events.

Exhibitors were offered the opportunity to build their stands by relying on the event's set-up division devoted to the creation of highly sustainable structures.

Collaborations were activated with suppliers offering cutting-edge services with a view to respecting the environment (such as for the recycling of carpeting used during events).

A system of shuttles and buses was made available to all those attending the fair, making it possible to significantly reduce the environmental impact of an event that moves thousands of people.

Speaking of people, the event represents one of the best demonstrations of inclusiveness applied to business thanks to the involvement of companies from all over the world, focusing on the big international giants, but also on so-called emerging countries.

The effort to implement a generalized digitization of services has resulted not only in making the approach to the event innovative, but also in involving as many industry players as possible, wherever they are.

And always with people in mind, Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags has recently activated an interesting Charity Program. A partnership with Soles4Souls, an organization that transforms unused shoes and clothing into opportunities, preventing them from going to waste and putting them to good use, providing assistance, creating jobs and enabling people to get out of poverty. Since 2006, Soles4Souls supporters and partners have prevented more than 81 million pounds of textiles from ending up in landfills (including more than 53 million pairs of shoes!) and distributed them to 137 countries.

Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags aims to help Soles4Souls achieve its main goal: to have an economic impact on society of $1 billion by 2030.

Il calzaturificio Aman è oggi un’azienda moderna e affermata a livello globale, con centri di produzione conformi alle norme BIS, certificata SA 8000 e con diverse certificazioni di sostenibilità. In attesa di vederne la nuova collezione a Expo Riva Schuh di gennaio 2024, incontriamo Saksham Dhingra, imprenditore familiare di seconda generazione, responsabile marketing, commerciale e pianificazione della produzione.

Cosa distingue la vostra calzatura rispetto alla concorrenza?

Il comfort è la nostra priorità assoluta: le nostre calzature sono flessibili, comode e nate per durare a lungo. E gli ordini ripetuti, da parte di una clientela fidelizzata, sono una conferma del fatto che il nostro prodotto soddisfa le loro aspettative, sia in termini di comfort, che per la varietà dei modelli e contenuto moda. Siamo orgogliosi di produrre scarpe di qualità, casual e comode. In particolare, stringate flessibili, mocassini e stivali, che il nostro team di design interno riesce a rinnovare di stagione in stagione con grande abilità, introducendo nuovi trend e concept.

L’azienda indiana presenta all’edizione di gennaio di Expo Riva Schuh (Pav C1 - B07) una collezione molto innovativa, che unisce comfort e mood casual, e che punta sempre più sulla sostenibilità.

Parliamo di sostenibilità: come vi rapportate a questo tema?

Aman Shoe Factory è da molto tempo impegnata a sviluppare una produzione sostenibile. Abbiamo prodotto articoli utilizzando bottiglie di pet riciclate e abbiamo ricevuto la certificazione RCS e GRS per alcune delle nostre collezioni. Alcuni dei nostri clienti collaborano con noi proprio per i prodotti sostenibili.

Crediamo che il futuro del settore a livello globale non possa che andare in direzione della sostenibilità e di un’innovazione responsabile.

Che tipo di collezione presentate a Expo Riva Schuh di gennaio?

Pensiamo che la centesima edizione di ERS richieda un allontanamento dall'ordinario. Quindi abbiamo deciso di presentare una collezione di calzature ancora più innovativa, mantenendo di nostri punti fermi che sono la qualità, il comfort e l’attenzione all’ambiente. Il nome che abbiamo dato alla collezione FW24 è ‘Urban-Ease Classics’ e si compone di scarpe casual con un tocco senza tempo, stivali divertenti ma ultra flessibili, modelli classici invernali che uniscono stile e modernità.

Quali sono i vostri progetti per i prossimi anni?

Stiamo introducendo una nuova linea di calzature realizzate utilizzando la nostra ultima macchina DIP, con un'attenzione particolare alle sneakers e alle scarpe casual comprese in una fascia di prezzo accessibile. Inoltre, nei prossimi anni, ci impegneremo ancora di più sul versante della sostenibilità, puntando su materiali e processi più ecologici, in linea con il nostro impegno per la tutela dell'ambiente.

Founded by Ashok Sethi and Sameer Dhingra (current president) in 1992, Aman Shoe Factory first focused on the Indian domestic market and only in 1996 opened to the European market, soon emerging on the strength of Sameer Dhingra's entrepreneurship and in-depth knowledge of shoemaking techniques. Today, Aman Shoe Factory is a modern and globally established company with BIS-compliant production centers, SA 8000 certified and several sustainability certifications. Looking forward to seeing its new collection at Expo Riva Schuh in January 2024, we talk with Saksham Dhingra, a second-generation family entrepreneur who is responsible for marketing, sales and production planning.

Let's talk about sustainability: how do you relate to this issue?

Aman Shoe Factory has long been committed to developing sustainable production. We have produced items using recycled pet bottles and have received RCS and GRS certification for some of our collections. Some of our customers work with us specifically on sustainable products. We believe that the future of the industry globally can only go in the direction of sustainability and responsible innovation.

What kind of collection do you present at Expo Riva Schuh in January?

We think the 100th of ERS calls for a break away from the ordinary.

So we have decided to present an even more innovative footwear collection, keeping of our cornerstones, which are quality, comfort and environmental awareness. The name we gave to the FW24 collection is 'Urban-Ease Classics' and it consists of casual shoes with a timeless touch, fun but ultra flexible boots, classic winter models that combine style and modernity.

What are your plans for the coming years?

We are introducing a new line of footwear made using our latest DIP machine, with a focus on sneakers and casual shoes iin an affordable price range. We will also be putting even more effort into sustainability in the coming years, focusing on greener materials and processes in line with our commitment to environmental protection.

What sets your shoes apart from the competitors?

Comfort is our top priority: our footwear is flexible, comfortable and born to last. And repeat orders, from loyal customers, are a confirmation that our product meets their expectations, both in terms of comfort, variety of styles and fashion content. We pride ourselves on producing quality, chasuble and comfortable shoes. In particular, flexible lace-ups, loafers and boots, which our in-house design team manages to renew from season to season with great skill, introducing new trends and concepts.

Cosa distingue oggi la vostra azienda e i vostri prodotti sul mercato della calzatura a livello globale?

Akınal Footwear è stata fondata nel 1978 e in questi 45 anni, ha sviluppato più di 2 milioni di prodotti diversi, migliorando al contempo il proprio approccio al business in un’ottica di sostenibilità, curando il benessere dell’ambiente e dei lavoratori.

Ci vuole raccontare un po’ più nel dettaglio come Akinal interpreta la sostenibilità?

Con la presa di coscienza dell’aggravarsi dei cambiamenti climatici globali, Akınal ha investito con decisione su una produzione sostenibile che mira generare zero rifiuti ed emissioni di carbonio entro la fine del 2030. Per questo, Akınal sta riciclando il 94% dei rifiuti prodotti ed è oggi l'unica azienda in grado di produrre un nuovo prodotto calzaturiero da 2 paia di scarpe in EVA usate. Per raggiungere l'obiettivo di zero emissioni di carbonio, Akınal sta inoltre l'uso di pannelli solari e sta promuovendo la piantumazione di nuovi alberi.

Parlando di prodotto, quali sono i punti di forza delle vostre calzature rispetto ai concorrenti?

Siamo specializzata nella produzione di calzature in PU ed EVA, concepite per offrire ai propri clienti alta qualità, massimo comfort e salute del piede a prezzi accessibili.

Con la nostra produzione ci rivolgiamo ai proprietari di marchi, ai rivenditori, ai supermercati e ai commercianti che vendono prodotti per le calzature, oltre che alla distribuzione con nostro brand.

Che cosa rappresenta il Made in Turkey nel vostro prodotto?

Il Made in Turkey rappresenta il saper fare che abbiamo fatto nostro in oltre 210 anni di attività nel settore pelle e in oltre 40 anni in quello calzaturiero.

Ma Akınal oggi mira ad offrire ai propri clienti un saper fare di qualità ad un prezzo accessibile che è anche rispettoso dell'ambiente e dell’uomo, perché questo è il futuro e la garanzia delle prossime generazioni.

La vostra è stata una delle prime aziende turche a partecipare a Expo Riva Schuh: come è cambiato l'evento negli ultimi anni e perché è così importante per voi esporre i vostri prodotti qui oggi?

Expo Riva Schuh rappresenta la porta d'accesso al mercato europeo e statunitense e quindi è per noi un appuntamento irrinunciabile. Questa fiera è, inoltre, sempre all'avanguardia nelle tendenze del mercato calzaturiero e, dal 1999, Akınal ne è uno dei principali protagonisti in qualità di espositore.

Come si caratterizza la collezione che presenterete a Expo Riva Schuh nel gennaio 2024?

Ci concentriamo sulla proposta di collezioni user friendly, capaci di offrire alla clientela un comfort sostenibile, che fa bene al piede e all’ambiente, a partire da una morbidezza senza precedenti anche nei modelli day by day.

Quali sono i vostri progetti per i prossimi anni?

Stiamo lavorando per diminuire l'uso di nuovi materiali EVA, raggiungendo il 100% di iniezione EVA riciclabile. In questo modo, intendiamo diventare un'azienda a zero emissioni di carbonio e aumentare le nostre fonti di energia rinnovabile per coprire tutto il nostro fabbisogno energetico. La nostra deve essere una qualità sostenibile.

Let us discover this important company, that has marked the history of the Turkish footwear industry, in the words of its CEO, Mete Akinal.

What distinguishes your company and your products on the global footwear market today?

Akınal Footwear was founded in 1978 and in these 45 years, it has developed more than 2 million different products, while improving its approach to business with a view to sustainability, caring for the well-being of the environment and workers.

Would you like to tell us in a little more detail how Akinal interprets sustainability?

With the realisation that global climate change is worsening, Akınal has decisively invested in sustainable production that aims to generate zero waste and carbon emissions by the end of 2030. To this end, Akınal is recycling 94% of the waste it produces and is now the only company that can produce a new footwear product from 2 pairs of used EVA shoes. To achieve the goal of zero carbon emissions, Akınal is also using solar panels and promoting the planting of new trees.

Speaking of product, what are the strengths of your footwear compared to competitors?

Yours was one of the first Turkish companies to participate in Expo Riva Schuh: how has the event changed in recent years and why is it so important for you to exhibit your products here today?

Expo Riva Schuh represents the gateway to the European and US markets and is therefore an unmissable appointment for us. Moreover, this fair is always at the forefront of footwear market trends and Akınal has been a major player as an exhibitor since 1999.

How is the collection that you will present at Expo Riva Schuh in January 2024 characterised?

We focus on proposing user-friendly collections that offer customers sustainable comfort that is good for the foot and good for the environment, starting with unprecedented softness even in day-today models.

What are your plans for the next few years?

We are working on decreasing the use of new EVA materials, achieving 100 per cent recyclable EVA injection. In this way, we intend to become a carbon-neutral company and increase our renewable energy sources to cover all our energy needs. Ours must be sustainable quality.

l’accessorio più amato nella storia del costume: la borsa. Compagna di vita ed amica fedele delle donne e sempre meno strumento funzionale per gli uomini che ormai la scelgono per stile ed eleganza.

Nella nuova area HIGHLIGHTS che Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags ha voluto dedicare alle tendenze di consumo verranno analizzati i modelli che diventeranno cult nelle prossime stagioni.

Ci si soffermerà sulle tecniche di lavorazione che arricchiscono i modelli e li rendono riconoscibili e desiderabili. Ci si confronterà con l’incredibile varietà di lavorazione dei materiali. Si parlerà delle applicazioni che il consumatore amerà e di quali saranno i metalli più importanti che le caratterizzeranno.

Per l’edizione numero 100 della manifestazione saranno sotto la lente di ingrandimento le borse, ma da giugno 2024 le tendenze di consumo riguarderanno anche le calzature.

Diverse forme inusuali e interessanti risulteranno un must di stagione per le borse al femminile: dalle croissant bags o le classiche saddle viste in passerella e già nelle vetrine, al secchiello rivisitato e alle shopping over-size.

Molto particolari le silhouette a trapezio.

Per i materiali ci si affiderà alla morbidezza di lavorazioni tubolari per una terza dimensione molto accentuata o al più classico matelassé. Molto richiesta la lavorazione a intreccio così come l’applicazione di materiali caldi, pelo e pelliccia. Anche il patchwork non mancherà di farsi notare.

Una borsa, lo sappiamo bene, è anche un oggetto di design che si accompagna spesso a diversi accessori e minuterie metalliche.

Andranno delle catene un po’ fuori dall’ordinario, manici distanti dal già visto. Tonalità? Luce e luminosità, ancor meglio se dorata, ma anche paillettes e trasparenze.

Il mondo maschile è comunemente più parco nella scelta di materiali, colori e lavorazioni, ma ugualmente interessato a giocare con forme e volumi.

Riceveranno un buon riscontro i borselli a mano, da quelli più voluminosi a quelli che assomigliano a piccole tracolle.

PLAYING WITH WOVEN LEATHER Il marsupio, o belt-bag, che ha avuto grande successo nelle scorse stagioni, si evolve cambiando posizione e forma, talvolta molto inconsueta.

Anche i materiali o i look più tecnici continuano a riscuotere successo, soprattutto sottoforma di zaini, che poi si declinano anche nelle versioni da lavoro o sofisticati. Il gusto di questo accessorio si ripulisce moltissimo, sia nelle linee che negli accessori applicati.

Infine, anche l’uomo sceglie la shopping come borsa di elezione se vuole trovare un’alternativa allo zaino, ormai inflazionato.

For the 100th edition of the event, handbags will be under the magnifying glass, but from June 2024, consumer trends will also cover footwear.

WOMEN'S BAGS Several unusual and interesting shapes will prove to be a musthave for women's handbags this season: from croissant bags or the classic saddle bags seen on the runway and already in the windows, to the revisited bucket and over-size shopping bags. Very particular are the trapeze silhouettes.

For materials we will rely on the softness of piping workings for a very accentuated third dimension or the more classic matelassé.

Very much in demand is the woven work as well as the application of warm materials, like fur. Patchwork will not fail to get noticed either. A handbag, we all know, is also a design object that is often

The concept of unisex is successful, but with distinctions. Briefcases are increasingly being replaced by satchel models, obviously adapted to the male world and made softer. Men can also choose shoulder straps, but the shapes of predilection will be squarer.
