NEWS ASSOCALZATURIFICI PRESENTA LA NUOVA SQUADRA GUIDATA DA SIRO BADON

ASSOCALZATURIFICI PRESENTS THE NEW TEAM HEADED BY SIRO BADON With the assignment of responsibilities to the Vice Presidents, the Associations sets into motion the new projects in support of the sector for the 2019-2023 period.

Con l’attribuzione delle deleghe ai Vice Presidenti prende il via l’attuazione dei nuovi progetti di supporto al settore per il periodo 2019-2023.

The new Board of Directors, which for the next five years will guide the footwear manufacturing industry, is now fully operational. With the assignment of responsibilities and the appointment of duties to the Vice Presidents, President Siro Badon will be flanked by Federico Bartoli from Tiger Flex Srl in Monsummano Terme (PT) in focusing on a strategic area, that of Professional Training. Giovanna Ceolini from Parabiago Collezioni Srl in Parabiago (MI) will instead be responsible for activities connected to the European market and those regarding the Trade Fair Committee for the organisation of the event ‘Moda Made in Italy’ in Munich. Pasquale della Pia from Della Pia Srl in Arzano (NA) will head two key areas for the near future, those of digitalisation and sustainability. Salina Ferretti, General Manager of Falc Spa in Civitanova Marche (with the brands Naturino, Falcotto and Voile Blanche), will be in charge of the international market, directly managing Asia and America, coordinating trade fairs in Seoul and Tokyo, and heading the children’s division of footwear, a segment in which quality and safety are constantly evolving. Finally, Giampietro Melchiorri from Calzaturificio Gal.Men. Srl in Montegranaro (FM) will be responsible for the Russian market, the CIS region, and emerging countries, while also organizing the events of OBUV in Moscow and the events of Kiev and Almaty in Ukraine. At the same time, Melchiorri will take charge of the ‘Made in’ issue, which is fundamental to guaranteeing quality, and will continue to raise awareness about it in international markets and among institutions.

It is exactly the protection of Made in Italy that will be one of the key areas on which the activities of the Association will focus over the next few years, in continuation with what was already previously set into motion by former President Pilotti, with a special focus on innovation in the sector, sustainability throughout the productive cycle, the role of fairs, and interaction with institutions. President Siro Badon will head all the institutional activities, including in particular those undertaken with regards to Confindustria Moda and Confindustria, while also overseeing the organisation of the internationally-oriented fair of MICAM, which is increasingly a leader worldwide.

The Board of Directors will also include Charlotta Bachini from Calzaturificio Gardenia Srl in Santa Maria a Monte (PT) as the President of the Young Industrialists, and Past President Annarita Pilotti from Loriblu Spa (Porto Sant’Elpidio - FM).

Entra a pieno regime il Consiglio di Presidenza che per i prossimi cinque anni sarà alla guida del settore calzaturiero. Con l’attribuzione delle deleghe e l’assegnazione dei compiti ai Vice Presidenti, il Presidente Siro Badon sarà così affiancato da Federico Bartoli, dell’azienda Tiger Flex Srl, di Monsummano Terme (PT), per un ambito strategico quale è quello della Formazione. Giovanna Ceolini, dell’azienda Parabiago Collezioni Srl di Parabiago (MI), avrà invece delega sulle attività legate al mercato europeo e su quelle relative al Comitato Fiere Industria per l’organizzazione della manifestazione ‘Moda Made in italy’ di Monaco di Baviera. Pasquale della Pia, dell’azienda Della Pia Srl di Arzano (NA), sarà invece responsabile di due ambiti chiave per il prossimo futuro quali la digitalizzazione e la sostenibilità. Salina Ferretti, General Manager di Falc Spa di Civitanova Marche (marchi Naturino, Falcotto e Voile Blanche), si occuperà del mercato internazionale con la delega su Asia e America e il coordinamento degli appuntamenti fieristici di Seoul e Tokyo, oltre a essere responsabile della calzatura da bambino, un contesto in cui qualità e sicurezza sono in continua evoluzione. Infine, Giampietro Melchiorri, del Calzaturificio Gal.Men. Srl di Montegranaro (FM), assume la delega sul mercato russo e dei Paesi dell’ex CSI, oltre ai Paesi emergenti, occupandosi anche delle manifestazioni OBUV a Mosca, e degli eventi di Kiev e Almaty in Ucraina. A Melchiorri spetta anche la delega sul ‘Made in’, la cui tutela è fondamentale per garantire qualità e continuare nell’opera di sensibilizzazione dei mercati internazionali e delle istituzioni.

Proprio la tutela del Made in Italy sarà uno dei punti fermi dell’attività dell’Associazione nei prossimi anni, in continuità con la precedente presidenza Pilotti, così come particolare attenzione sarà posta sull’innovazione del settore, la sostenibilità del ciclo produttivo, il ruolo delle fiere e il dialogo con le istituzioni. Il Presidente Siro Badon sarà responsabile di tutte le attività istituzionali, in particolare di quelle in relazione alle attività di Confindustria Moda e Confindustria, oltre alla supervisione dell’organizzazione di una fiera di respiro internazionale e sempre più leader nel mondo quale è il MICAM. Nel board del Consiglio di Presidenza figurano anche Charlotta Bachini, del Calzaturificio Gardenia Srl di Santa Maria a Monte (PT), con la carica di Presidente dei Giovani Industriali, e la Past President Annarita Pilotti di Loriblu Spa (Porto Sant’Elpidio - FM).

NEWS QUANDO IL CASHMERE FA LA SNEAKER

BIRKENSTOCK APRE A PARIGI Si chiama Birkenstock 1774, come l’anno di fondazione del brand, il nuovo showroom parigino al 390 di rue Saint Honoré.

Lo showroom concepito per essere la vetrina del brand occupa gli spazi di un tipico appartamento parigino, caratterizzato da boiserie alle pareti, stanze comunicanti, caminetti in pietra. Il concept d’interni è stato ideato da Nick Vinson di Vinson & Co che ha cercato in tutta Europa arredi, decorazioni e mobili vintage e nuovi in una palette di legno caldo e pelle invecchiata.

La scelta è ricaduta su oggetti che hanno fatto la storia del design come i tavoli in quercia di Philipp Mainzer, le sedie Cap disegnate da Mario Bellini e le sedie Medea anni ’50 in compensato di Vittorio Nobili, gli sgabelli Tri-Angle di Aldo Bekker, le panche Cleft Oak di Simon Hasan… e per esporre al meglio le calzature, le librerie

Nel dilagante fenomeno sneakers fanno la loro comparsa le 2.28 di Agnona, realizzate in pregiato cashmere.

La ricerca tessile della maison Agnona si traduce in un progetto sofisticato e trendy di sneakers che fa del cashmere il suo protagonista e prende nome dal rapporto 2/28 che misura la morbidezza del pregiato filato.

Le 2.28 sono leggere e trendy, con una tomaia nel prezioso e impalpabile filato, bande laterali in pelle assicurate a dei lacci che poi salgono ad avvolgere la caviglia. La suola in stile chunky propone un affascinante contrasto con la tomaia. I colori sono gli stessi delle maglie di cashmere di Agnona e portano i succosi nomi di cioccolato al latte, caramello, crema di caffè e latte mandorla.

BIRKENSTOCK OPENS IN PARIS Named Birkenstock 1774, in reference to the founding year of the brand, the new Parisian showroom is located in 390 rue Saint Honoré.

The showroom conceived as a showcase for the brand is located in a typical Parisian apartment, characterised by wainscoting on the walls, connecting rooms, and stone fireplaces. The interior design concept was devised by Nick Vinson from Vinson & Co who searched for suitable furnishings throughout Europe, selecting decorations and vintage and new furniture in warm woodsy and aged leather colours.

The pieces chosen include those responsible for making the history of design like the oak tables of Philipp Mainzer, the Cab chairs designed

by Mario Bellini, Vittorio Nobili Medea armchairs in plywood from the 50’s, Tri-Angle stools by Aldo Bekker, Simon Hasan Cleft Oak benches… and for the best possible presentation of the footwear, the Achille Castiglioni’s Lungangolo bookshelf.

WHEN CASHMERE MAKES THE SNEAKER In keeping with the increasingly widespread phenomenon of sneakers, the Agnona 2.28 shoe made from exquisite cashmere makes its debut.

The textile research of the Agnona maison translates into a sophisticated and trendy sneakers project that makes cashmere its protagonist, while taking its name from the 2/28 gauge that measures the softness of fine yarns. 2.28 shoes are lightweight and trendy, with an upper in exquisite and impalpable yarn, and lateral leather bands fastened to laces that rise up to wrap around the ankles. The chunky-styled sole proposes a striking contrast with the upper. The colours are the same as Agnona’s cashmere knits with tasty names like milk chocolate, caramel, coffee cream, and almond milk.

La collezione “Millie by you” rispecchia l’animo giocoso della giovane attrice e il suo amore per l’oceano ed i suoi animali. CONVERSE AND THE WHALES OF MILLIE FOR YOU Stranger Things returns to the screen and Converse is ready to announce a collaboration with Millie Bobby Brown, who plays the part of Eleven in the Netflix series.

The “Millie by you” collection perfectly reflects the playful spirit of the young actress and her love for the ocean and its animals. The models are rich in prints with whale-shaped motifs in a wide variety of colours: «Choosing the colours, material, and print for the shoes was very special for me», explained the young actress, who also is a big fan of do-it-yourself fashion.

Sulla scia del trattato di libero scambio con il Mercosur, l’UE ha siglato il 30 giugno un altro importante accordo commerciale con il Vietnam che prevede la quasi (99%) completa eliminazione dei dazi doganali tra i due blocchi.

Tra le clausole del patto vi sono anche regole relative allo sviluppo sostenibile, ai diritti dei lavoratori, e alla protezione della proprietà intellettuale e ambientale.

FREE TRADE WITH VIETNAM In the wake of the free trade agreement signed with Mercosur, on 30 June, the EU signed another important free trade agreement with Vietnam that calls for the almost complete elimination (99%) of all duties between the two regions.

“It’s a milestone in the relations between the two regions – declared the EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström at the time of signing – underlining that “the document has brought high standards with it, thus ensuring a positive impact on European business in the region”.

The agreement calls for the gradual elimination of duties over the next 7 years and allows EU states to access a consumer market of 95 million people, intercepting an emerging and rapidly growing economy. Among the clauses of the agreement are also rules regarding sustainable development, labour rights, and protection of intellectual property and the environment.

Kway. Matteo Marzotto, presidente di Dondup ha spiegato come è importante “smettere di autoflagellarsi e puntare sullo stoytelling” come fattore di crescita. Marco Palmieri, fondatore e presidente di Piquadro ha mostrato come la leva del private equity sia stato un importante fattore di crescita dell’azienda, che oggi ha acquisito due importanti brand come The Bridge e Lancel.

Ha chiuso l’assise l’intervento di Vincenzo Boccia, presidente di Confindustria che, partendo dal potenziale scenario futuro economico del Paese illustrato in un suggestivo video, ha dichiarato che ci si deve riappropriare di parole come “sogno” e “speranza” per renderlo possibile. Fattore critico per il raggiungimento dell’obiettivo è la politica, verso la quale Confindustria sta entrando nella fase 3 del confronto, in occasione del decreto della crescita: “Bisogna sbloccare le infrastrutture, non portare avanti il salario minimo e salvaguardare l’IVA” dichiara Vincenzo Boccia, che conclude così: “dobbiamo passare da una stagione che cavalca le ansie ad una di consapevolezza, a una stagione rifondata sul primo articolo della costituzione”.

We are the only completely integrated production supply chain from the start to the finish and we knew how to capably combine an artisanal legacy with an industry that is representative of our country worldwide – declared Claudio Marenzi, President of Confindustria Moda at the opening ceremony. “Even if in the past we have had our differences, - he added – today, we work as one, and after having accomplished the creation of shared services like the research and legal departments, we can now do better and much more: protecting the product, fighting for the Made in Italy label that certifies the quality and innovation of the Italian product, creating scenarios of mutually beneficial customs tariffs, reducing the fiscal wedge, working on sustainability and professional training…”.

Goals that are at hand for the fashion segment which, altogether, is worth 95.5 billion euros in revenue (+0.7%), employing 580 thousand in-

dividuals and contributing to 50% of the Italian balance of trade. As the second most important Italian manufacturing industry, fashion is not a short-lived and fleeting sector, but rather an extremely powerful industry.

The same themes were discussed in a round table by the Presidents of the confederate associations: Riccardo Braccialini, out-going President of Assopellettieri, Ivana Ciabatti from Federorafi, Annarita Pilotti, out-going President of Assocalzaturifici, Giovanni Russo from Unic-the Italian Tanners’ Association, Roberto Scarpella from Alp-the Italian Fur Association, Marino Vago from Smi-Italian Fashion System and Giovanni Vitaloni from Anfao-the Italian Optical Goods Manufacturers’ Association.

The conference continued with the presentation of three case histories of Made in Italy success. Marco Buglione from Basic Net spoke of how it is possible “to reanimate dead brands and give them new life” with a business model where the company supports independent entrepreneurs with marketing, communication, sourcing, and information technology strategies, which have guaranteed success for brands like Kappa, Robe di Kappa, Jesus Jeans, Su-

Matteo Marzotto, President of Dondup, explained how it is important “to stop beating ourselves up and instead focus on storytelling” as a factor for growth. Marco Palmieri, founder and President of Piquadro illustrated how private equity has been an important lever for growth in his company, which today has acquired two important brands like The Bridge and Lancel.

The conference ended with the speech of Vincenzo Boccia, President of Confindustria who, starting from the potential future economic scenario of Italy that was illustrated in a striking video, declared that it’s important to reintegrate words like “dream” and “hope” into our vocabulary so it is in fact possible to do so. A critical factor key to achieving this goal lies in the world of politics, where Confindustria is now entering it’s third phase of negotiations with regards to the new growth decree: “The way must be freed for new infrastructures, don’t carry on the minimum wage and protecting the VAT”, declares Vincenzo Boccia, who concludes, “We must pass from this time filled with worries to an awareness, a season that returns to the first article of the constitution”.

SIRO BADON Oltre le fiere, una associazione al servizio dell’imprenditore Siro Badon, a trentacinque anni da Luigino Rossi, riporta in Riviera del Brenta la presidenza di Assocalzaturifici. Ma chi è il nuovo presidente? Padovano, entra nel 1975 nell’azienda di famiglia, il calzaturificio De Robert di Saonara, e nel corso degli anni riveste svariati ruoli, dalla gestione produttiva e amministrativa, al commerciale, aprendo mercati come il Nord Europa e l’Asia. Attività per la quale viene insignito del premio “Marco Polo” da Unioncamere Veneto nel 2010. Alla vita professionale affianca quella corporativa che lo vede sedere nel consiglio Generale di Confindustria Venezia Rovigo, di NeaFidi, Confindustria Padova, Confindustria Veneto, Politecnico Calzaturiero, e assumere la vice presidenza di Assocalzaturifici con delega alla formazione. Da otto anni è anche presidente di Acrib, Associazione Calzaturieri della Riviera del Brenta.

Con lei la presidenza torna alla Riviera del Brenta, quale significato ha per il suo distretto?

“Come prima cosa è una profonda soddisfazione e la conferma che oggi l’Acrib è una delle territoriali più rinomate del palcoscenico produttivo della calzatura italiana”.

Quali saranno le priorità sulla quali focalizzerà il suo mandato?

“Secondo me l’associazione deve essere vista in maniera un po’ diversa da come la si è vista fino adesso. E’ ben altro che una semplice organizzatrice di fiere. Deve cominiciare a parlare di ecosostenibilità, deve cominciare a parlare di formazione ma a livelli importanti, deve diventare anche una struttura di servizi

ANNARITA PIILOTTI La “pasionaria” della calzatura ripercorre il suo mandato Con la stessa passione con la quale ha diretto l’associazione negli ultimi quattro anni, Annarita Pilotti, prima presidente donna della storia dell’associazione, ha voluto salutare i colleghi calzaturieri ricordando i momenti salienti del suo mandato. Tra i suoi successi ha voluto menzionare “Il rinnovo del Micam, le nuove date ed il suo restyling; la politica di spending review; il rinnovo del contratto nazionale di lavoro; l’ottenimento della cassa integrazione per il settore; la defiscalizzazione dei campionari; la costituzione del tavolo dell moda e la parte avuta per la nascita di Confindustria Moda, la nuova sede dell’associazione e quella di Cimac; la costituzione di un desk per le attività di lobby a Bruxelles”. Ma non mancano i rimpianti per i risultati mancati come “il made in e le sanzioni contro la Russia”.

At the same time, she does have some regrets concerning her inability to obtain “the ‘Made In’ label and to cease economic sanctions against Russia”.

On the occasion of the Confindustria Moda conference, Assocalzaturifici held its general assembly with the election of the new board of directors, with Annarita Pilotti standing down and Siro Badon taking over in the role of President. At the same time, there was the nomination of Vice Presidents Federico Bartoli from Tiger Flex, Salina Ferretti from Falc, Giovanna Ceolini from Thierry Rabotin, Gianpietro Melchiorri from Gal.Men and Pasquale Della Pia from Dei Mille. Plus, Andrea Brotini from Pakerson was nominated as arbitrator.

Below are Annarita Pilotti’s final words as President, the exclusive interview with Siro Badon, the current economic scenario of the sector, and a study on the generational changeover in sector companies.

SIRO BADON Going beyond fairs, an association at the service of entrepreneurs Siro Badon, at a distance of thirty-five years from the tenure of Luigino Rossi, brings back to Riviera del Brenta the presidency of Asocalzaturifici. So, who exactly is the new President? Originally from Padua, in 1975, he became part of the Calzaturificio De Robert di Saonara shoe company owned by his family, and over the years, he has covered various roles, from production and administration management, to sales, while opening the company up to markets like Northern Europe and Asia. An activity for which he was recognised in 2010, with the granting of the “Marco Polo” award by the Unioncamere Veneto. His professional life has always been flanked by his corporative one, which has seen him sit in on the Board of Directors of Confindustria Venezia Rovigo, of NeaFidi, Confindustria Padova, Confindustria Veneto, Politecnico Calzaturiero, and act as Assocalzaturifici Vice President in charge of education and professional training. For the last eight years, he has also covered the role of President in ACRIB, the Association of Riviera del Brenta Footwear Manufacturers.

The presidency returns to Riviera del Brenta with your nomination. What significance does this have for your district?

“For a start, it is a great satisfaction and a confirmation that today ACRIB is one of the most renowned territorials on the productive panorama of Italian footwear”.

What will be the priorities on which your term of office will focus?

“In my opinion, the Association must be seen a little differently from the way it’s been seen up until now. It is much more than a simple organiser of trade fairs. It must start speaking of eco-sustainability, it must begin to speak of training but of a higher level, it must also become a structure of services, because today our entrepreneurs have a need to go out into the world, but with

perché oggi i nostri imprenditori hanno bisogno di andare nel mondo, ma con prerogative completamente diverse. Naturalmente un grosso aiuto bisogna che anche l’imprenditore se lo dia da solo. Perché l’associazione non ha la bacchetta magica, non è onnipotente. Quello che saremo in grado di fare è orientare, consigliare e supportare l’attività dell’impreditore, siglando accordi e facendo azioni di lobby”.

Continuerà l’impegno con Confindustria Moda…

“Oramai siamo un anello della catena di Confindustria Moda.

Lavorando assieme, ognuno prenderà vantaggio di un qualcosa che ha l’altro e viceversa”.

Come raccoglierà la questione del made in?

“Dobbiamo continuare nella battaglia ormai quindicennale. Il discorso del made in è il riconoscimento del prodotto: sappiamo benissimo che politicamente abbiamo dei problemi, e questo è un dato di fatto. Cercheremo tuttavia di portare avanti il discorso, magari trovando un’alternativa, per una specializzazione del prodotto italiano. E proseguiremo l’attività di lobby con i vari soggetti istituzionali, nazionali ed europei”.

How will you handle the ‘Made in’ issue?

“We must continue to fight this battle that has now been underway for the last fifteen years. ‘Made in’ is a matter of identifying the product: we know very well that politically speaking we have problems, and this is a fact. Nevertheless, we will do our best to move forward with this issue, by maybe finding an alternative for the specialisation of the Italian product. And we will continue to lobby on various institutional, national and European issues”.

The future of Micam?

“It is the most important international fair worldwide, it was in the past and it will also be so in the future. There could be eventual investments by the associations aimed at improving its look and raising it up as high as possible. And we have a lot of ideas in this regard. First and foremost, we would set up a Technical-Scientific Committee made up by Representatives of Confindustria Moda, experts in the world of fashion, influencers, sociologists, analysts of consumer trends and exhibitors, which would interact and discuss with the presidency to make the participation of businesses and buyers in the event increasingly extensive and strategic”.

And on international markets?

“Policies of internationalisation will be supported and reinforced, in collaboration with ICE, through promotional and business missions, scouting on markets and targeted programs for incoming delegations to introduce the assets of our footwear manufacturers to international clientele including its history, tradition, know-how, and above all its ability to faithfully present the Italian lifestyle”.

Il futuro del Micam? “È la più importante fiera internazionale del mondo, lo era in passato e lo sarà anche in futuro. Ci potranno essere investimenti da parte delle associazioni per abbellirla, per portarla più in alto. E di idee ne abbiamo parecchie. Prima di tutto istituiremo un Comitato Tecnico-Scientifico composto da Rappresentanti di Confindustria Moda, esperti nel mondo fashion, influencer, sociologi, analisti dei consumi di settore ed espositri, che interagisca e dialoghi con la presidenza per rendere sempre più ampia e strategica la partecipazione di aziende e buyer alla manifestazione”.

E sui mercati internazionali?

“Le politiche di internazionalizzazione verranno sostenute e potenziate, in collaborazione con Ice, attraverso missioni promozionali e commerciali, scouting sui mercati e programmi di incoming per far conoscere alla clientela internazionale gli assett del calzaturiero: storia, tradizione, saper fare, ma soprattutto saper vivere, il lifestyle italiano”.

Crescono in valore i principali mercati con perfomance attorno al 10% (tranne il Giappone con +5,6%): Cina (ma con cali del 4,1% nelle paia), Hong Kong, Corea del Sud e Giappone (con -10% nei quantitativi). Stesso trend con valori in aumento (14,4%) e volumi in calo (-3,4%) si registra in Nord America.

Tra le criticità del settore, il mercato domestico, che presenta un andamento ancora negativo, complice anche una stagione invernale relativamente mite che ha portato a flessioni nei quantitaivi (-2,3%) e nella spesa (-3,8%).

Come intendono reagire a questo quadro le aziende associate? L’indagine di Assocalzaturifici evidenzia il ricorso alle seguenti leve: la razionalizzazione dei costi, lo sviluppo di nuovi prodotti e nuovi mercati, lo studio di nuove strategie di distribuzione e investimenti nella promozione.

Values in the leading markets grew with performances estimated at around +10% (except for Japan with its +5.6%): China (but with a drop in quantity equal to -4.1%), Hong Kong, South Korea, and Japan (with -10% in quantity). The same trend with values on the rise (+14.4%) and volumes down (-3.4%) was recorded in North America.

Among the biggest problems in the sector is the domestic market with its persisting negative trend, which was further complicated by a winter season that was relatively mild and which led to a drop in quantities (-2.3%) and in purchases (-3.8%).

How do the businesses involved intend to react to this situation?

The study undertaken by Assocalzaturifici highlights a use of the following instruments as a possible solution: an optimisation of costs, the development of new products and new markets, the study of new strategies of distribution and investments in promotional activities.

rancal numero 51 si è svolta a San Paolo dal 3 al 5 giugno, con un anticipo di circa un mese rispetto alle precedenti edizioni. Circa 350 gli espositori che hanno proposto le collezioni per la primavera estate, con una buona rappresentanza anche di produttori di borse e articoli da viaggio. Tra questi citiamo brand importanti anche internazionalmente come Arezzo, Beira Rio, Suzana Santos, Usaflex, Schutz, Democrata, Vicenza ecc… senza dimenticare la presenza delle collettive dai principali distretti produttivi brasiliani, tra cui quello di Franca, città in cui è nata Francal nel 1968.

Come è andata? Sicuramente molto meglio di quanto ci si poteva aspettare, visto anche l’andamento del mercato interno brasiliano ancora alle prese con una crisi non risolta.

I visitatori hanno affollato gli spazi di Expo Center Norte, lo spazio espositivo dove si svolge da alcuni anni Francal, mostrando interessi anche concreti nei confronti delle proposte dei calzaturieri brasiliani e, dato di non poco conto, non sono mancati gli importatori arrivati in fiera un po’ da tutto il mondo, grazie anche alla sinergia con “Programa Importador”, organizzato da Abicalçados e Apex (Istituto Brasiliano per il Commercio Estero), che ha visto la presenza di buyers provenienti da 16 paesi tra i quali Colombia, USA, Perù, Russia, Qatar, Ecuador, India, Cile, Polonia.

FRANCAL: THE EDITION OF CHANGE The 51st edition of Francal was held in São Paulo from 3 to 5 June, with its show dates scheduled about one month earlier compared to past editions.

An estimated 350 exhibitors proposed their collections for spring-summer, with positive participation recorded also for manufacturers of bags and travel items.

Among them were included international brands of the calibre of Arezzo, Beira Rio, Suzana Santos, Usaflex, Schutz, Democrata, Vicenza, etc... without forgetting the presence of the collectives coming from the main Brazilian production districts, including that of Franca, the city in which Francal was first founded in 1968.

How did it go? Certainly much better than what was originally forecasted, also in consideration of the current economic context of the Brazilian domestic market that is still struggling with a crisis that is not yet at end. Visitors packed the spaces of the Expo Center Norte, the exhibition complex where Francal has now been held for several years, showing also clear interest in the proposals of Brazilian footwear.

Just as important were the importers who arrived at the fair from various parts of the world, also thanks

to the synergy with “Programa Importador”, organised

by Abicalçados and Apex (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), with the participation of buyers coming from 16 different countries including Columbia, the USA, Peru, Russia, Qatar, Ecuador, India, Chile, and Poland. Abdala J. Abdala, President of Francal, was satisfied, underling how this edition was “sign of an important change occurring in the relationship with buyers and especially Brazilian retailers. Not only did Francal confirm itself to be an exhibition of the most beautiful and important footwear and leather goods collections, it also emphasised the extremely important role it plays in providing information on fashion, trends, the economy, all the way up to the discussions on online sales, advertising, the role of the retailer, etc... This different and more in-depth way of proposing itself to exhibitors and visitors was greatly appreciated, contributing in a significant way to the success of the 2019 edition”.

Overall, it was an edition very rich in content, but also practical, functional, and elegant as underlined

Insomma un’edizione molto ricca di contenuti, ma anche pratica, funzionale, elegante, come sottolinea Heitor Klein, presidente esecutivo di Abicalçados: “È stata un’edizione al di sopra delle aspettative. Il momento economico del Brasile non è certamente brillante, ma Francal ha dimostrato che sta nascendo una nuova fiducia anche nel mercato interno e penso che nella seconda parte dell’anno questa fiducia comincerà a essere ripagata dai fatti”. Bianco Neto che rimarca come “Francal è il momento più importante per promuovere la calzatura primavera estate: è il termometro del mercato e l’edizione 2019 ha riflesso positivamente le esigenze di espositori e buyers”.

Infine l’opinione di João Doria, Governatore dello Stato di San Paolo, che visitando la manifestazione ha dichiarato: “il Brasile è in un momento di riforme decisive a partire da quella della previdenza che rappresenta un punto focale per la ripresa economica del paese. Questa riforma sarà essenziale anche per il settore calzaturiero, di cui Francal è un’espressione indubbiamente molto positiva, e permetterà un aumento dei consumi nel mercato interno”.

Da segnalare infine che contemporaneamente a Francal si è svolta anche Inspiramais manifestazione dedicata al mondo dei componenti e degli accessori e organizzata da Assintecal in collaborazione con Cicb, con l’obiettivo di rafforzare le sinergie all’interno del settore.

La prossima edizione di Francal si svolgerà dall’ 1 al 3 giugno 2020 sempre nello spazio espositivo di Expo Center Norte.

The same opinion is also shared by the President of the Abicalçados, Caetano Bianco Neto, who remarks how “Francal is the most important event for promoting spring-summer footwear: it is a thermometer onto the market and the 2019 edition positively reflected the needs of exhibitors and buyers”.

Finally, there is the opinion of João Doria, Governor of the State of São Paulo, who visited the event and declared: “Brazil is going through a moment of reform starting from the issue of pensions that represent a focal point for the economic recovery of the country. This reform will also be essential for the footwear manufacturing industry, of which Francal is an extremely positive expression, and it will allow for an increase in consumption by the domestic market”.

Finally, Inspiramais, the event dedicated to the world of components and accessories, which is organised by Assintecal in collaboration with CICB, was held in conjunction with Francal in order to strengthen once more the synergy into this sector.

The next edition of Francal is scheduled from 1 to 3 June 2020, always in the Expo Center Norte trade fair complex.

Ma Francal ha portato anche buone notizie: la prima è il rinnovo dell’accordo con Apex per il programma Brazilian Footwear che garantisce per 2 anni investimenti e azioni di promozione commerciale e di immagine per il nostro settore all’estero, con particolare riferimento a USA, Perù, Inghilterra, Francia, Cina e Italia per quanto riguarda soprattutto la partecipazione alle 2 fiere internazionali: Expo Riva Schuh e MICAM. Insomma “made in Brazil” ha ora ancora più possibilità di ulteriore sviluppo in tutto il mondo. L’altra notizia è quella data dal Governatore João Doria secondo il quale “la riforma della previdenza, anche se non avrà un impatto diretto sul settore, farà però aumentare gli investimenti sia privati che pubblici. Penso che sarà di notevole aiuto per migliorare l’economia, creando sviluppo, nuove possibilità d’impiego, aumento dei consumi. E questo, ovviamente, riguarderà anche l’industria calzaturiera che opera per l’85% nel mercato locale. Non dimentichiamo che nel settore operano quasi 300.000 addetti per una produzione che nel 2018 ha raggiunto i 944 milioni di paia, dei quali 120 destinati all’export”.

At the same time, Francal was also a source of good news: the first is the renewal of the agreement with Apex for the Brazilian Footwear program, which guarantees 2 years of investments and promotional activities aimed at boosting the image of our sector abroad, especially in the USA, Peru, England, France,

China, and Italy, with our participation in particular in the following 2 international fairs: Expo Riva Schuh and MICAM. In fact, ‘Made in Brazil’ now has more opportunities for further development worldwide. The other good news arrives from Governor João Doria who confirms ‘the pension reform, even if it will not have a direct impact on the sector, will however lead to an increase in private and public investments’. I believe that it will be a big help in the improvement and development of the economy, with new possibilities for employment and an increase in consumption. PRESIDENTE DI ABICALÇADOS PRESIDENT OF ABICALÇADOS Eletto poco prima di Francal, Caetano Bianco Neto ha un rapporto pluridecennale con la calzatura, da quando il padre fondò nel 1975 un piccolo calzaturificio a Jaù, chiamando l’allora ventenne Caetano ad aiutarlo. Poi, nel 1990, nasce il calzaturificio “Arzano” che Caetano Neto conduce da allora in proprio. Segue Abicalçados dai tempi della presidenza di Nestor de Paula, fondatore di Azaléia, e dal 2000 fa parte del consiglio dell’associazione. DIRETTORE ESECUTIVO DI ABICALÇADOS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF ABICALÇADOS Annunciato come successore del Presidente Esecutivo di Abicalçados Heitor Klein, Haroldo Ferreira dallo scorso febbraio opera nella struttura. 52 anni, sposato e con 2 figli, Ferreira ha una lunga esperienza nel settore calzaturiero maturata prima in Musa Calçados e poi in Azaléia. Dal 2005 ha presieduto il sindacato dell’industria calzaturiera dello stato di Bahia, dal quale si è dimesso per assumere la carica in Abicalçados. Anche a Ferreira chiediamo quali saranno i principali punti di sviluppo della sua gestione: “Indubbiamente – afferma Ferreira - cercare di sviluppare sempre più l’export della nostra produzione, magari affrontando da subito il tema della limitazione nell’uso di alcune sostanze, politiche che in Europa e USA sono già state adottate. Un altro punto è quello di avvicinare i vari sindacati del polo calzaturiero brasiliano, sviluppando e rinforzando l’associazionismo. Announced as the replacement for Abicalçados Executive President Heitor Klein, since this past February, Haroldo Ferreira has been part of the Association. 52 years old, married and with 2 kids, Ferreira has a long-time experience in the footwear sector dating back to his very first collaborations with Musa Calçados and Azaléia. In 2005, he became head of the footwear industry trade union in the Brazilian state of

Bahia, and recently stepped down from this role in order to take over at the head of Abicalçados. We asked Ferreira what will be the main issues he intends to work on during his mandate: “Without a doubt – confirms Ferreira – I will do my best to further increase our sector exports by immediately addressing the issue of restricted substances, which has already been adopted in Europe and the USA. Another important issue is that of bringing together the interests of the various Brazilian footwear trade unions, with the development and reinforcement of the association. Naturally, it’s also important to consider the adaptation of our industry to a future that is right around the corner and known as the Industry 4.0”.

L’OPINIONE DEI BUYER INTERNAZIONALI E IL “PROGRAMA IMPORTADOR” Importatori, buyer e dettaglianti esteri hanno movimentato una Francal sempre più internazionale, complice anche il programma “Programa Importador”, promosso da Abicalçados in collaborazione con Apex, che ha portato in fiera compratori come Elsa Dionisio (2Point di Doha Qatar), per la prima volta a Francal: “ Ho trovato molto interessanti le collezioni che ho visto, non solo per le indubbie caratteristiche fashion del made in Brazil, ma anche per le somiglianze climatiche dei nostri paesi. Francal è stata veramente una bella esperienza”. Per Noval Valdivia (Grupo Rio di Matagalpa – Nicaragua), “Francal è una manifestazione molto ben organizzata: noi operiamo nella calzatura uomo-donna-bambino e qui ho trovato molte offerte al giusto prezzo”. Compra solo calzatura da uomo, invece, Andres Felipe Ocampo di Manisol-Bata (Manizales- Colombia): “È la terza volta che partecipo a Francal ed è sempre una buona fiera dove trovo proposte sempre di ottima qualità, anche se a volte un po’ costose per i nostri negozi in Colombia, Perù, Ecuador. Ma Francal resta un appuntamento irrinunciabile”. Dal Perù, John Sucno Quiroz di Mega Max: “Abbiamo 7 negozi e a Francal troviamo proposte interessanti per uomo, donna, bambino. Compriamo già da tempo in Brasile dove la calzatura significa tecnologia, qualità, design”. Dalla Polonia arriva, invece, Piotr Janukonicz di Apia, 7 negozi soprattutto donna e uomo: “sono per la prima volta in Brasile e ho trovato una buona qualità nell’offerta sia per donna che per uomo.

Francal è una manifestazione molto interessante”. E se per Kevin Patera (Ilina Group – USA) la fiera significa un

ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo nella calzatura femminile con tempi di consegna eccellenti, per Daniel del Barco (distributore con anche 2 negozi in Costarica), Francal è un momento importante per scoprire un’eccellente qualità dell’offerta unita ad un prezzo molto accattivante. Dilip Anil Gosalia (Sora corporation – India): “Compriamo già in Brasile, soprattutto calzature comfort uomo e donna che distribuiamo in 140 città indiane. Francal è veramente ok!”: Infine l’opinione di un veterano di Francal e profondo conoscitore della calzatura brasiliana: Peter Mangione (USA): “Francal è sempre una manifestazione indispensabile per comprendere il fashion made in Brasil, anche perché propone le novità per l’estate. Anche questa volta mi sembra che abbia fatto centro!”.

Ricordiamo che il Projeto Importador è gestito da Abicalçados in collaborazione con Apex e che Leticia Sperb Masselli ne era la responsabile durante Francal. Ma della presenza all’estero ne abbiamo parlato brevemente con Alice Rodrigues (Image Promotion Unit) e con Cristian Schlindwein (Project Manager): “Dopo l’accordo con Apex per i prossimi 2 anni, la nostra prima azione è quella di confermare la nostra presenza a fiere come Expo Riva Schuh, Micam, Platform” afferma Schlindwein, e Rodrigues prosegue: “ puntiamo molto sui mercati sudamericani come Perù e Colombia senza dimenticare l’importanza di USA, Cina, Inghilterra e Francia.” “Tra i nostri progetti più importanti” concludono Schlindwein e Rodrigues “quello di portare compratori in Brasile non soltanto durante le fiere e quello di aprire showroom temporanei in diversi paesi”.

THE OPINION OF INTERNATIONAL BUYERS AND THE “PROGRAMA IMPORTADOR” Foreign importers, buyers, and retailers were active players at an increasingly international Francal, also thanks to the “Programa Importador”, a program promoted by Abicalçados in collaboration with Apex, which brought buyers to the fair like Elsa Dionisio (2Point in Doha - Qatar), who participated in Francal for the first time: “I found the collections I saw to be very interesting, not only for their undeniable Made in Brazil fashion content, but also for the climatic similarities between our two countries. Francal is an extremely interesting event”. And if for Kevin Patera (Ilina Group – USA), the fair is synonymous with an

excellent quality/price ratio in women’s footwear with extremely competitive delivery times, for Daniel del Barco (distributor with 2 stores also located in Costa Rica), Francal is an important opportunity for discovering an excellent quality offering matched with an extremely attractive price. Dilip Anil Gosalia (Sora Corporation – India) instead declares: “We already buy in Brazil, above all comfort footwear for men and women that we distribute to 140 cities in India. With regards to the event’s presence abroad, we briefly spoke about it with Alice Rodrigues (Image Promotion Unit) and Cristian Schlindwein (Project Manager): “After the finalisation of the agreement with Apex for the next 2 years, our first action was to confirm our presence at fairs like Expo Riva Schuh, Micam, and Platform”, confirms Schlindwein, and Alice Rodrigues continues: “Our main focus is on South American markets like Peru and Columbia, without forgetting the importance of the USA, China, England, and France”.

“Among our most important projects”, conclude Schlindwein and Rodrigues “is the one aimed at bringing buyers to Brazil not only during the fairs and the opening of temporary showrooms in different countries”.

LE NUOVE SFIDE DEL LUSSO (E NON SOLO) Al Luxury Summit organizzato da 24Ore Business School a Milano lo scorso giugno si è parlato dell’impatto dello sviluppo tecnologico sui comportamenti d’acquisto e delle nuove strategie dei marchi, ma ampio spazio è stato anche dedicato al tema della sostenibilità, che va sempre più intesa come un concetto che riguarda l’intera filiera, e non tanto la singola azienda. Una sostenibilità a 360 gradi, che vede l’inclusività (e in particolare la disabilità) anche come un’opportunità per crescere in termini di consensi e ritorno economico.

Si è rinnovato anche quest’anno l’appuntamento con il Luxury Summit per fare il punto sulle nuove sfide-chiave per il mercato della moda più esigente e complesso, quello del lusso. Molti gli interventi di grande interesse che hanno caratterizzato l’evento, a cominciare dall’apertura del futurologo Gerd Leonhard, autore di diversi libri tra cui l’ultimo, “Technology versus Humanity”, indaga il delicato equilibrio tra l’individuo e una tecnologia sempre più presente e invadente. In un contesto che vede aumentare la simbiosi tra uomo e macchina, le interfacce basate sui comandi vocali cambieranno sempre di più e in modo inevitabile le abitudini di acquisto di ogni consumatore.

La tecnologia ci conosce sempre più a fondo e interpreta e anticipa le nostre esigenze. Ma le macchine - avverte lo studioso - non hanno un’anima e gli essere umani sono fatti anche di emozioni; questa componente emozionale è presente anche nell’acquisto di moda, soprattutto di moda di lusso.

Per questo motivo il futuro del lusso passa necessariamente attraverso concetti come passione, immaginazione, persuasione e capacità di raccontare una storia. Ma c’è di più: la tecnologia è fondamentale nel nostro futuro, ma solo la quantità di tecnologia necessaria.

In un mondo dove i miei bisogni sono così chiari e così conosciuti da essermi anticipati, e dove la tecnologia permette di conoscermi a fondo, diventa allora fondamentale considerare che l’essere umano è fatto anche e soprattutto di relazioni e di sentimenti.

Il lusso è comprare non solo un prodotto, ma piuttosto vivere un’esperienza. Proprio l’idea di unicità e di conoscenza diretta del marchio e del suo saper fare sono alla base dell’apertura del Golden Goose Lab a Milano, raccontata dal CEO del brand Silvio Campara: in essa il cliente è chiamato a vivere un’esperienza ‘a porte chiuse’ all’interno del laboratorio dove ha la possibilità di intervenire, con l’aiuto dell’artigiano, direttamente sulla scarpa e dar vita ad una sneaker che è più che

personalizzata, è il frutto di un esperienza vissuta.

Uno dei temi centrali dell’incontro milanese sul lusso è stato poi la sostenibilità, intesa a 360 gradi e nelle sue molteplici sfaccettature. Di sostenibilità hanno parlato tra gli altri Carlo Capasa, Presidente CNMI, e Marino Vago, Presidente SMI, evidenziando l’importanza di estendere la sostenibilità all’intera filiera per essere credibile, e non alla singola azienda.

atlete paraolimpiche Veronica Yoko Plebani e Bebe Vio. Ma la bellezza ‘non standardizzata’ e soprattutto i ‘diversamente abili’ sono anche un target estremamente importante e fino ad oggi assolutamente trascurato dal mercato, cui invece si dovrebbe cominciare a guardare con attenzione.

Il caso degli occhiali è emblematico: nati come protesi per una forma di disabilità – il difetto visivo - , gli occhiali sono diventati nel corso degli anni un oggetto fashion di cui la moda e i marchi del lusso hanno saputo approfittare per crescere e affermarsi sul mercato.

Lo stesso non è, tuttavia, avvenuto per altre forme di disabilità. Intercettare questo cambiamento è quindi fondamentale, anche perché la tecnologia che rende possibile sanare questo ‘gap’ tra abilità e disabilità esiste già, basta sfruttarla.

Senza considerare che la vita media dell’individuo si sta allungando e con essa le diverse ‘disabilità’ legate all’avanzare dell’età, con un pubblico di ‘portatori di handicap’ che diventa sempre più vasto…

NEW CHALLENGES IN LUXURY (AND MORE) At the Luxury Summit organised by 24Ore Business School in Milan this past June, the speeches revolved around the impact of technological development on purchasing behaviour and new brand strategies, with a place of importance also reserved for the theme of sustainability, which is increasingly understood as a concept that regards the entire supply chain, and not just the company itself. 360° sustainability, which sees inclusivity (and especially disability) as an opportunity for growth in terms of public approval and economic return.

This year the appointment with the Luxury Summit was renewed to take stock of the new key-challenges in what is the most demanding and complex fashion market, that of luxury. Many interesting and extremely relevant speeches were given, starting with the opening speech of futurist Gerd Leonhard, author of various books, including his most recent work, “Technology versus Humanity”, which takes a look at the delicate equilibrium between the individual and the increasingly active and invasive presence of technology.

In a context where there is an increasingly strong synergy between man and machine, the interfaces based on vocal commands will increasingly change once and for all the purchasing habits of every consumer. Technology has an increasingly extensive understanding of us and is ready to interpret and pre-empt our needs. But machines – he warns – do not have a soul and human beings are filled with emotions. This emotional component is present also in our fashion purchases, including above all luxury fashion purchases. For this reason, the future of luxury must pass through concepts like passion, imagination, persuasion, and the ability to tell a story. That’s not all: technology is fundamental to our future, but only in the

amounts strictly needed. In a world where our needs are so clearly understood that they can even be predicted ahead of time and where technology allows for an in-depth study of each one of us, it becomes fundamental to consider human beings as individuals who are made up above all by relationships and feelings.

Luxury is not only a matter of buying a product, but rather is an experience unto itself.

It is exactly the idea of expressing the unique identifying quality of a brand and directly introducing it and the know-how behind it that are at the heart of the opening of Golden Goose Lab in Milan, as explained by the brand’s CEO, Silvio Campara: here, customers are invited to participate in a ‘closed door’ experience, where inside the laboratory they are given the possibility to make their own individual changes to the shoe, with the help of an artisan, thus creating a sneaker that is much more than personalised and the result of a direct experience.

One of the central themes of the Milan conference on luxury was that of sustainability, with a 360° look at it in all of its many facets. Speaking of sustainability were among the others Carlo Capasa, President of CNMI, and Marino Vago, President of SMI, who highlighted the importance of extending sustainability

to include the entire supply chain and not only the company itself for establishing the brand’s credibility. Among the different speeches of great impact was also that of Manfredi Ricca, Chief Strategy Officer of Interbrand, who spoke of an extremely relevant and mostly unexplored aspect of sustainability: INCLUSIVITY, understood above all as an acceptance of DISABILITY. It must be said that fashion is slowly starting to understand how diversity can also be synonymous with beauty – for example, by presenting oversize models on the runway, or by immortalizing faces with Vitiligo skin condition, like that of Eva Khyne Sam, or by reserving a special place of honour for Paralympic athletes, like Veronica Yoko Plebani and Bebe Vio. However, ‘non-standardized’ beauty and above all ‘differently-abled’ also represents an extremely important target, which up until now has been almost completely ignored by the market that should instead start looking to it with more interest. Eyewear is a perfect example of this: initially conceived for those with a disability – defective eyesight -, over the years, eyeglasses have become a fashion item used by fashion and luxury brands to their full advantage so they can grow and establish themselves on the market. Intercepting this change is accordingly fundamental, also because the technology needed to bridge the gap between ability and disability already exists, and is just waiting to be used. All this is without considering that the average lifespan is becoming longer and with it the number of ‘differently-abled’ are also increasing, with a ‘handicapped’ public that is increasingly extensive…

GLOBO: beLEAF AND OTHER NEW PROPOSALS AT EXPO RIVA SCHUH At Riva del Garda, the Dutch company presented its new Savelli line of women’s sneakers and the innovative beLEAF technology, which conveys the same properties of leathers to leaves.

As a protagonist of Expo Riva Schuh for over 30 years, Globo proposed its new summer 2020 collection at the last edition of the event characterised by first-rate leathers and an attention to comfort that does not sacrifice style. At the same time, it presented its first women’s collection under the brand Savelli, which will flank the classic and sporty men’s line.

That’s not all: the company with Dutch origins also presented the innovative beLEAF tm technology for the first time, which is the fruit of

BeLEAF can be applied to any kind of leaf, even if Alocasia Macrorrhiza, the so-called ‘elephant ear’ leaf that spontaneously grows all over Brazil, was chosen for its launching. The process is entirely organic, allowing footwear and bags to be made from a new, eco-friendly material of rare beauty, a leaf that has the same elastic and tactile properties of skin.

Perdura infatti il trend negativo delle vendite.

Non è un segreto: veniamo da diverse stagioni in cui l’export italiano di calzature nell’area russa è in calo, anche in apertura del 2019 ha registrato -14% in volume e in valore, con la Russia che ha segnato -21,3% in quantità, l’Ucraina -4,1% e il Kazakistan addiritura -30%.

Mentre l’instabilità economica gioca un fattore non secondario in Kazakistan e Ucraina, in Russia responsabile di questo trend è soprattutto la polarizzazione del mercato, con la conseguente riduzione della quota della gamma media che è poi dove si posiziona il

made in Italy. “I mercati della Russia, Ucraina e Kazakistan presentano ancora delle criticità, – conferma Giampietro Melchiorri, vice presidente Assocalzaturifici con delega ai mercati della Russia e ex CSI – ma è ancora un po’ presto per stabilire se perdurerà il trend o se ci sarà una inversione di rotta. In ogni caso, le aziende continuano a confermare le adesioni agli eventi organizzati da Assocalzaturifici perché li ritengono i migliori strumenti per presidiare questi mercati”.

Ad aprire le danze saranno gli appuntamenti di La moda ita-

liana ad Almaty, in Kazakistan, presso il Dom Priemov dal 2 al 4 ottobre, e La moda italiana a Kiev in Ucraina, in corso presso l’Hotel Intercontinental il 7-8 ottobre. Organizzati da Assocalzaturifici in collaborazione con EMI Ente Moda Italia hanno adottato da qualche stagione la formula del total look presentando una selezione di calzature, pelletteria e abbigliamento. Nella tornata di marzo, hanno attirato oltre un centinaio di operatori nella capitale economica del Kazakistan, e oltre 200 a Kiev.

A chiudere la stagione delle vendite sarà invece Obuv’ Mir Kozhi, evento che si terrà presso l’Expocenter di Mosca

dal 21 al 24 ottobre. Organizzato da Bologna Fiere in collaborazione con Assocalzaturifici vedrà la partecipazione di circa 130 aziende italiane che incontreranno, stando alle attese degli organizatori, un pubblico di 12mila operatori, tra responsabili di catene retail, grossisti e proprietari di boutique provenienti da tutte le regioni della Russia e 25 paesi limitrofi.

Un sostegno importante all’attività delle aziende verrà offerto da Ice Agenzia che, in partnership con Assocalzaturifici, organizza in ognuna delle diverse aree incoming di buyer e azioni a supporto dell’azione commerciale.

MADE IN ITALY MEETS UP WITH RUSSIA AND THE CIS AREA It is with a feeling of great expectation that Italian footwear manufacturers look to the up-and-coming trade fairs in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Russia, with La moda italiana in Almaty, La moda italiana in Kiev and Obuv’ Mir Kozhi in Moscow, all areas that continue to be characterised by negative sales trends.

It’s no secret: for a number of seasons now, Italian footwear exports towards Russia and its surrounding territory have been characterised by a downtrend, and this has been reconfirmed also at the beginning of 2019, recording a -14% drop in volume and value, with Russia decreasing by -21.3% in quantity, Ukraine at -4.1%, and Kazakhstan even down by -30%. While economic instability plays a role that is not secondary in Kazakhstan and Ukraine, in Russia this trend is due above all to the polarization of the market, with a subsequent fall in the mid-range segment, which is where Made in Italy positions itself. “The markets of Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan are still characterised by some difficulties, – confirms Giampietro Melchiorri, Vice President of Assocalzaturifici responsible for the Russian and CIS markets – However it’s still too early to tell if the trend will persist or if there will be a reversal.

In any case, businesses are continuing to confirm their partici-

pation in the events organised by Assocalzaturifici because they consider them to be the best tools for presiding over these markets”.

Kicking off the series of fairs in this region will be La moda italiana in Almaty, in Kazakhstan, at the Dom Priemov from 2 to 4 October, followed by La moda italiana in Kiev, in Ukraine, to be held at the Hotel Intercontinental from 7-8 October. Organised by Assocalzaturifici in collaboration with EMI Ente Moda Italia, for the last few seasons the formula of the fairs has been dedicated to the total look, presenting a selection of footwear, leather goods, and apparel. During the March editions, these fairs attracted more than one hundred operators to the economic capital of Kazakhstan and more than 200 to Kiev.

Ending the sales season will instead be Obuv’ Mir Kozhi, the event that will be held at Moscow’s Expocenter from 21 to 24 October.

Organised by Bologna Fiere in collaboration with Assocalzaturifici, it will see the participation of around 130 Italian companies, which according to the predictions made by the organisers, will meet up with a public of 12 thousand operators including retails chains, wholesalers, and owners of boutiques coming from all of Russia’s regions and 25 neighbouring countries.

Important support will be provided to the exhibitors by the ICE Agency which, in partnership with Assocalzaturifici, will organise different incoming services at each event meant to attract foreign buyers, while also undertaking actions aimed at supporting business.

COUROMODA, PRONTA A SOSTENERE L’ACCORDO MERCOSUR-UE Una fiera ottimizzata sulla lunghezza di tre giorni e lo slancio per intercettare le opportunità aperte dalla sigla dell’accordo tra Mercosur e UE: con questi contenuti Couromoda dà appuntamento dal 13 al 15 gennaio a San Paolo del Brasile.

L’accordo Ue Mercosur apre una gigantesca frontiera per le calzature brasiliane. A causa della sua storia, del profilo e posizionamento, la fiera di Couromoda è la piattaforma naturale per potenziare gli affari del settore tra i due blocchi economici. La calzatura brasiliana trova in Francia e Regno Unito rispettivamente la terza e decima destinazione del suo export, per un valore totale di 40 milioni di dollari: una cifra significativa, ma piccola se paragonata al potenziale esitente in Europa.

Un potenziale che potrà dischiudersi al massimo grazie all’accordo.

Couromoda ha sempre seguito con interesse i negoziati avviati 20 anni fa “Siamo stati sempre presenti e abbiamo lavorato per l’inserimento dei marchi brasiliani in Euro-

COUROMODA, READY TO SUPPORT THE MERCOSUR-EU FREE TRADE AGREEMENT A fair enhanced and extended to a total of three days with the intent of intercepting the new opportunities made possible by the signing of the Mercosur-EU free trade agreement: with these contents, Couromoda gets ready for its next edition from 13 to 15 January 2020 in São Paulo, Brazil.

The Mercosur-EU free trade agreement opens up a huge frontier for Brazilian footwear. Thanks to its history, profile, and position, the Couromoda fair is the natural platform for reinforcing sector business between the two economic regions. Brazilian footwear respectively finds in France and the United Kingdom the third and tenth leading destinations for its exports, for a total value of 40 million dollars: an important number, which however is small when compared to the potential business in Europe. A potential that will be given free reign thanks to the agreement.

Couromoda has always followed the negotiations first set into motion 20 years ago with great interest: “We were always present and we worked to see Brazilian brands inserted onto the European market, while maintaining close ties with its main players – declared Francisco Santos, President of Couromoda – This agreement will encourage business and Couromoda is ready to be the tool and meeting point between the industry and retail sales in both continents”.

The agreement represents a big step forward and an excellent opportunity for Brazilian footwear, which will now be more competitive for European buyers. “The promotion of Couromoda will follow two directions, - adds Francisco Santos – from one end, there is the ad campaign targeted at attracting leading purchasers and department stores from the old continent through initiatives and events in Europe. From the other end, there is the organisation of a program for researching and scouting the main European brands – from Italy, Portugal, France, and Spain – so that they can come to Couromoda 2020: the first step for the future participation of European exhibitors at the 2021 show. They are producers in the mid to high-end range, which can provide a complementary proposal to Brazilian retailers and international buyers”.

While feverish preparations are underway, Couromoda also announces that the next edition will be held for a total of three days, on the 13, 14, and 15 January 2020, as a strategic choice in optimising the sales season. The day before the show, on 12 January, there will be the conference of the Couromoda Forum and a pre-opening for select customers, along with an inaugural cocktail on the eve of the event.

São Paulo Pret-à-porter will be held in conjunction with Couromoda, while the calendar of both events will be enriched by the presentation of trends and retail seminars that will provide inspiration to the purchasing campaigns of visitors.

GALLERY SHOES: UNA VENTATA DI FRESCHEZZA Dal 1 al 3 settembre, la fiera di Dusseldorf ha presentato negli spazi dell’Areal Bohler le preview moda per la PE 2020 di circa 600 marchi, inaugurando nuove entrate e spazi di incontro e ristorazione, ma anche un nuovo concept più orientato ai diversi segmenti e al lifestyle, e così confermandosi un appuntamento importante per il business e l’informazione.L’edizione si è chiusa sostanzialmente in linea con il passato, con visitatori provenienti soprattutto da Germania, Austria e Svizzera.

Ulrike Kähler, Managing Director di IGEDO Company e Project Director di Gallery Shoes, ha definito questa edizione della fiera una ‘boccata di aria fresca’ e si è detta molto orgogliosa e soddisfatta della fiducia che gli operatori del settore hanno ormai riposto in questo appuntamento.

Una fiera che si è presentata, infatti, con diverse novità importanti, studiate per rispondere ancor meglio alle esigenze dei compratori di mettere a punto la collezione giusta, massimizzando il tempo a loro disposizione. Entrando più nel dettaglio, la calzatura Contemporary si è sviluppata su quattro diversi padiglioni tra i quali la Edelstahlhalle e l’area precedentemente occupata dalle aziende del Kids. Tra i marchi di rilevo che hanno proposto qui le loro nuove collezioni ricordiamo le new entry Stefano Gamba e Hey Dude dall’Italia, Tamaris Bags dalla Germania e Irregular Choice dal Regno Unito. Alcuni brand come Cinq hanno proposto le loro suggestioni lifestyle partecipando anche al “Fashion Lifestyle-Show”, mentre brand come Clarks Shoes, Dutch, Frankie4 e Bruno Premi hanno invece preso parte al nuovo ‘Gallery SHOES Selected-Show’.

L’area dedicata alla calzatura comfort ha accolto i visitatori attraverso un nuovo ingresso separato, completato da una propria zona di ristorazione.

Tra i nuovi marchi votati al benessere che hanno preso parte per la prima volta alla manifestazione ricordiamo Leguano dalla Germania, Magical Shoes dalla Polonia e Sota dal Portogallo.

Grande attenzione è stata dedicata alla calzatura da bambino, che è stata raccolta in un unico spazio ‘dedicato’ posto in una posizione centrale e che ha visto protagonisti nomi del calibro di Naturino e Primigi, ma anche Melania, Momino e Ocra dall’Italia; Bisgaard dal Portogallo e Kavat dalla Svezia. Tra le new entry erano presenti Acebos dalla Spagna, Apepazza dall’Italia e il marchio americano Blauer.

A partire da questa edizione l’’area Urban ha occupato la metà del padiglione Alte Schmiedehallen e ha visto protagonisti brand come lo spagnolo Jonny’s Vegan, con la sua collezione ecologica realizzata con bottiglie di PET riciclate, Apple of Eden dal Portogallo (la cui nuova collezione ha fatto parte anche della “Gallery SHOES Selected-Show” così come quella di Superga

E ancora, hanno qui presentato le loro novità di collezione: Castaner e Pons Quintana dalla Spagna, Fiamme Antwerp dal Belgio, Pollini e Silvano Sassetti dall’Italia.

Tra i marchi che hanno preso parte anche agli eventi ‘live’ ricordiamo Sheme Shoes nel “Fashion Lifestyle-Show”, ma anche Fred de la Bretoniere dai Paesi Bassi e Aigner dalla Germania, protagonisti in passerella durante la “Gallery SHOES Selected-Show”.

GALLERY SHOES: A BREATH OF FRESH AIR From 1 to 3 September, the fair in the Areal Böhler in Düsseldorf presented the fashion previews for SS 2020 of around 600 brands, inaugurating new entrances with meeting points and catering areas, but also a new concept increasingly oriented towards the different segments and lifestyle, thus confirming it to be an important event for business and information. The edition concluded with a substantial stable performance compared to the past, with professional visitors coming mainly from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Ulrike Kähler, Managing Director of IGEDO Company and Project Director of Gallery Shoes, defined this edition of the fair as ‘a breath of fresh air’ and declared his great pride and satisfaction in the trust sector operators continue to place in this event. A fair that in fact presented itself with a number of new proposals created to better reply to the needs of buyers in finalizing their very best collections, while helping them make the most of their available time. Starting with the entry into the halls, with new entrances, meeting points and catering areas, but also a new concept increasingly oriented towards the fashion lifestyle thanks to ‘Gallery SHOES Selected’ and ‘Fashion-Lifestyle’, to then end with the areas dedicated to Contemporary and Kids shoes.

Going more into detail, the Contemporary footwear zone was divided into four different halls including the Edelstahlhalle and the area previously used for the Kids’ exhibitors. Among the brands of significance that proposed their new collections here were the new entries Stefano Gamba and Hey Dude from Italy, Tamaris Bags from Germany, and Irregular Choice from the UK. Some of the brands like Cinque proposed their lifestyle proposals by also participating in the “Fashion Lifestyle-Show”, while brands like Clarks Shoes, Dutch, Frankie4 and Bruno Premi instead participated in the new ‘Gallery SHOES Selected-Show’.

The area dedicated to comfort footwear welcomed visitors through a new separate entrance, completed by its own catering zone.

A special focus was given over to kids’ footwear, which was hosted in its very own ‘exclusive’ area with central positioning, featuring protagonists of the calibre of Naturino and Primigi, but also

PITTI UOMO 96: CROCEVIA GLOBALE DELLE TENDENZE Grandi numeri per Pitti Uomo 96: la kermesse, infatti, ha ospitato 1220 marchi (tra cui 549 stranieri) tra debutti (uno per tutti, per la prima volta in fiera di A | X Armani Exchange) e graditi ritorni.

Tante le novità di questa novantaseiesima edizione a partire dal tema “The Pitti Special Click” e la partnership mediatica con Instagram. In omaggio a Karl Lagerfeld, una mega installazione realizzata dall’artista contemporaneo Endless ha accompagnato le collezioni dell’eponimo marchio.

In totale superati i 30.000 visitatori e oltre 18.500 sono i buyer da 100 Paesi esteri, per un’edizione all’insegna di energia e ottimismo, in un anno non facile per il commercio internazionale. “Abbiamo registrato una grande effervescenza in Fortezza da Basso e in città – ha dichiarato Raffaello Napoleone, A.D. di Pitti Immagine – e questo è il primo

PITTI UOMO 96: GLOBAL TRENDS CROSSROAD Huge numbers for Pitti Uomo 96: in fact, the fair hosted 1220 brands (of which 549 foreign ones) and included debuts (A | X Armani Exchange exhibit for the first time) and lots of welcomed returns.

This 96th edition will have many new features such as “The Pitti Special Click” theme and the media partnership with Instagram.

The contemporary artist Endless created a mega installation to honour Karl Lagerfeld, which will accompany the collections of the great designer’s brand.

In total, 30,000 visitors and over 18,500 buyers from 100 foreign countries visited the fair, with an edition of energy and optimism, in a year not easy for international trade. “We have experienced a great effervescence in the Fortezza da Basso and in the city - declared Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine - and this is the first clear sign of the spirit of an entire industry that is represented at Pitti Uomo and believes in the future, moving in harmony with the great changes in communication, consumption and distribution, investing in research, materials and new technologies. There has been a significant increase in markets like France, Turkey, Hong Kong, Belgium and Russia; others

have lost a few percentage points, such as Germany, Spain, Japan, the United States and - unfortunately - Italy. But it is also true that distribution is changing a lot before our eyes: today a buyer for a large online platform counts as much as dozens of specialized boutiques years ago”.

The Central Pavilion, beating heart of Pitti Uomo, illustrated the clear evolution of classic menswear and its design and streetwear contaminations, with brands that re-read tailoring lessons and interpret the new luxury of men’s wardrobe with collections that interact with other worlds of Pitti Uomo. Lace-up shoes and moccasins evolve from a more formal aspect to incorporate new technology soles and more tapered lines. Derby shoes in calfskin, suede or canvas are streamlined by extralight rubber bottoms. The new chunky sneakers impose themselves with important ultra-light soles, asymmetrical volumes and uppers that play between brushed calfskin and technical fabric.

The presence of trekking laces lend an outdoor-inspired spirit. As for bags, backpacks and business & travel lines, the new models tend towards unisex and are designed to last, like faithful travel or work companions, fine leathers mixed with canvas or nylon are used making the most of new technologies such as RFID anti-fraud protection, anti-theft trackers, power banks to recharge electronic devices and so on.

I marchi di Pitti Bimbo hanno risposto alla difficile fase congiunturale investendo in ricerca, creatività e innovazione, presentando 603 collezioni, di cui 399 estere, che non hanno mancato di ispirare i buyer in fiera. In testa ai mercati presenti nel salone si è riconfermata la Spagna, seguita da Russia, Regno Unito, Germania, Turchia, Belgio, Francia, Cina, Olanda, Grecia, Stati Uniti, Corea del Sud, Ucraina, Portogallo e Kuwait.

Mentre l’Italia fa segnare una flessione del 5-6%, i mercati esteri sono in tenuta, con una lieve flessione di un paio di punti percentuali: “Ma come sempre i dati da soli non parlano, o per lo meno non dicono tutto. – dichiara Agostino Poletto, direttore generale di Pitti Immagine – Per esempio non dicono che sono in

aumento mercati decisivi per l’abbigliamento bambino come Regno Unito, Stati Uniti e Spagna, dai quali sono arrivati i più importanti top buyer, come Barney NY, Bergdorf;Goodman, Childrensalon, Childsplay, Fenwick, Galerie Lafayette, Harrods, Kurt Geiger, Le Bon Marché, Neiman Marcus, Printemps, Selfridges e Smallable. O che sono arrivati dal Kuwait e Qatar i compratori dei grandi mall, veri e propri hub commerciali per il Medio Oriente e per l’Asia Occidentale, o che i migliori compratori italiani ed europei sono comunque presenti”. Tra i mercati meno performanti spiccano invece la Germania e la Russia, pur restando alti nella classifica delle presenze.

Come sempre colorato e dinamico, il salone ha ospitato

tantissimi progetti speciali, a cominciare dal debutto di The Kids Lab che ha riunito le anime della ricerca al top floor del padiglione centrale, con KidzFIZZ, #Activelab, The Nest, EcoEthic e Kid’s Evolution. Ci sono state poi le sfilate di Apartment, Children’s Fashion From Spain, Manila Grace, kids.Modaportugal in Fortezza e il fashion show Fairy Tale di Monnalisa al Giardino Torrigiani L’edizione è stata segnata

anche da importanti debutti, come quello di Emporio Armani, Araia Kids, G-Star Raw, Jacon Cohen, Lotto, Pinko, Rifle Kids e Tia Cibani Kids e dai rientri di Manila Grace, North Sails e Sundek… che confermano il ruolo di Pitti Bimbo come palcoscenico privilegiato per il lancio delle nuove collezioni.

Un ruolo non secondario alla manifestazione è stato svolto dalle collezioni di calzature – ormai il 30% della selezione.

PITTI BIMBO, FEWER ITALIANS, FOREIGN VISITOR IN HOLD The preliminary results of the Florentine trade fair for children’s fashion point toward an estimated 10 thousand visitors: 5,100 buyers of which 2,400 were international and coming from 80 foreign countries, with decisive markets for kidswear like the United Kingdom, the United States and France all on the rise.

The brands of Pitti Bimbo replied to the difficult economic phase by investing in research, creativity and innovation, with the presentation of 603 collections, of which 399 were from abroad, providing inspiration to buyers at the fair.

Leading the ranks of the top markets presents at the show was Spain, followed by Russia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Turkey, Belgium, France, China, Holland, Greece, the United States, South Korea, Ukraine, Portugal and Kuwait. While the attendance of Italian visitors fell by 5-6%, foreign markets held steady, with a slight drop by a couple of percentage points: “But, as always, numbers on their own do not talk, or at least they don’t tell the whole story – states Agostino Poletto, Pitti Immagine General Manager – For example they do not tell us that there was growth for the markets which are decisive for children’s clothing like United Kingdom, United States and Spain, whose most important top buyers came along, such as Barneys NY, Bergdorf & Goodman, Childrensalon, Childsplay, Fenwick, Galeries Lafayette, Harrods, Kurt Geiger, Le Bon Marché, Neiman Marcus, Printemps, Selfridges and Smallable. Or that the buyers for the big malls arrived from Kuwait and Qatar, regular trading hubs for the Middle East and for western Asia. Or that the best Italian and European buyers were all present”. Among the markets experiencing a slowdown were Germany and Russia, while always remaining in the classification of presences.

Ever-colourful and dynamic, the show hosted many special projects, starting from the debut of The Kids Lab, which brought together the spirits of research on the top floor of the Main Pavilion, with KidzFIZZ, #Activelab, The Nest, EcoEthic and Kid’s Evolution. There were then the fashion shows of Apartment, Children’s Fashion From Spain, Manila Grace, and kids.Modaportugal at the Fortezza and the Fairy Tale fashion show of Monnalisa at the Torrigiani Garden.

Moreover, the edition was characterised by important debuts, like those of Emporio Armani, Araia Kids, G-Star Raw, Jacon Cohen, Lotto, Pinko, Rifle Kids and Tia Cibani Kids and by the re-entry of Manila Grace, North Sails and Sundek… thus confirming the role of Pitti Bimbo as a privileged stage for launching new collections.Last, but not least, an important role was played by the footwear collections at the event, which by now represent 30% of the selection.

PREVIEW MICAM La grande vetrina milanese, in calendario dal 15 al 18 settembre 2019, porta in primo piano il meglio della calzatura italiana e internazionale con le anticipazioni moda per la Primavera Estate 2020. Eccone un assaggio.

The leading Milan showcase turns the spotlight on the very best in Italian and international footwear from 15 to 18 September 2019, with fashion previews for the Spring-Summer 2020. Here’s a small selection of what’s on offer.

CULT: L’ESTATE 2020 È YOUNG La nuova collezione SS 2020 di Cult in mostra a Micam conferma lo stile ribelle del brand con dettagli di borchie dal design essenziale, ma anche reti preziose, fiocchi brillanti, piume e applicazioni metalliche tono su tono che vanno ad arricchire scarpe, sneakers e sandali.

Per la prima volta CULT strizza l’occhio al mondo Active, con strutture innovative, per Lui e Lei, che sono il connubio perfetto tra tecnologia e futurismo, caratterizzate da trasparenze, plastiche lucide, colori accesi e inserti iridescenti.

Young è la struttura sportiva per eccellenza, con un restyling del modello con suola trasparente o laminata. A questa si aggiungono due nuovi modelli: un sandalo con borchie ed applicazioni, disponibile nelle varianti bianco, nero e argento, e un modello iconico e identificativo rinnovato per la stagione estiva da reti e trasparenze, con le immancabili ghette rimovibili.

CULT: SUMMER 2020 IS YOUNG The new SS 2020 collection of Cult on show at Micam confirms the rebel style of the brand with stud details characterised by an essential design, but also exquisite mesh, bright bows, feathers, and tone-ontone metallic appliqués that enrich shoes, sneakers and sandals.

For the first time, CULT looks to the Active world, with innovative structures for Him and for Her, which are the perfect blending of technology and futurism, characterised by transparencies, glossy plastics, bright colours, and iridescent inserts. Young is the sporty structure par excellence with a restyling of the model through a transparent or laminated sole. There are then two new models: a sandal with studs and appliqués, available in white, black, and silver, and an iconic and bestselling model renewed for the summer season by mesh and transparencies, with the must-have removable gaiters.

DOCKSTEPS PRESENTA CHUNKY E VIRGINIA

OXS: ISPIRAZIONE 90 E MOUNTAIN

Per la prossima estate il marchio propone per la donna Chunky, una sneaker ispirata ai modelli da running degli anni ’90, rinnovata da colori vivaci e con una silhouette oversize. La tomaia in nubuk e mesh si abbina ad un’intersuola alta in Eva, che assicura estremo comfort alla calzata. La fodera è in mesh traspirante, mentre i lacci sono tecnici e si ispirano alle cime delle barche a vela, come da dna del brand. Per l’uomo, invece, tra i modelli di punta in collezione troviamo Virginia, una sneaker formale in nubuk forato e pelle sfoderata, abbinati ad una suola a cassetta in Eva bicolore che conferisce un tocco più sportivo.

Per la prossima estate il brand presenta a Micam una sneaker dal look vintage rinnovata nei colori e nei materiali e con chiare ispirazioni al free climbing, tema dell’estate 2020.

Il modello è la rivisitazione in chiave moderna di una sneaker anni Novanta riletta e attualizzata grazie all’uso di tonalità fluo e all’utilizzo di materiali tecnici come tessuti gommati e catarifrangenti. Particolari anche le chiusure, con lacci che ricordano le corde da arrampicata nel modello mid, e velcri incrociati ispirati alle imbragature degli scalatori nel modello in knit. Il tutto impreziosito da un processo finale di invecchiamento stone washed e sporcatura manuale della suola, che conferiscono al prodotto un aspetto unico e molto personale.

OXS: 90’S AND MOUNTAIN INSPIRATION For the coming summer, at Micam, the brand presents a vintage-styled sneaker renewed in its colours and materials, with clear inspirations coming from free climbing, as the theme of summer 2020.

The Nineties sneaker model is revamped in a modern key, reread, and brought up to date, thanks to the use of neon colours and technical materials like rubber and iridescent fabrics. Even the fastenings are special, with laces that recall climbing ropes in the mid model, while crisscross Velcro is inspired by the climbing harnesses of professional climbers in the knit model. All of which is embellished by a final process of stonewashed ageing and manual dirtying of the sole, which conveys a unique and extremely personal look to the product.

DOCKSTEPS PRESENTS CHUNKY AND VIRGINIA For the coming summer, the brand proposes a sneaker for women inspired by the running models of the 90’s, renewed by lively colours and an oversize silhouette. The nubuck and mesh upper is matched with a high EVA midsole, which ensures extreme comfort when wearing. The lining is in transparent mesh, while the laces are technical and inspired by the tops of sailing boats, which are part of the brand’s DNA. For men, instead, among the leading models of the collection, we find Virginia, a formal sneaker made from pierced nubuck and unlined leather, matched with a boxed two-tone EVA sole that conveys a sportier touch.

NEWS WHAT FOR: TRA FASHION E STREET In sintonia con la nuova immagine di What For, il design della nuova collezione SS2020 che sarà protagonista a MICAM si gioca tra due estremi: uno stile fashion oriented e un’attitudine street legata al mondo dello sport.

Modello iconico della collezione è la mule in pvc trasparente con borchie applicate, tacco metallizzato e pelle specchiata: uno dallo stile futuristico che si presta per un utilizzo day by day.

Il resto della collezione è caratterizzato dalla parola chiave “square”: ricorrono infatti le forme squadrate, sia nei tacchi che nelle suole.

I materiali sono tecnici, mescolati con stampe animalier.

La palette dei colori è esaltata dall’arancio e dal verde.

Dedicata ad una donna spensierata, energica e dal mood urban confort, la collezione What For ha uno stile che non si dimentica.

WHAT FOR: BETWEEN FASHION AND STREET In accordance with the new What For image, the design of the new SS2020 collection plays upon two extremes: a fashion-oriented style and a street attitude connected to the sports world.

Iconic model of the collection is the mule in transparent PVC with applied studs, metalized heel, and mirrored leather: a model with a futuristic style that is suited for day-by-day use.

The rest of the collection is characterised by the key word “square”: there is in fact a use of squared shapes, both in the heels and soles.

The materials are technical and mixed with animalier prints.

The colour palette is exalted by orange and green.

Dedicated to a carefree, energetic woman with an urban mood characterised by comfort, the What For collection has a style it’s impossible to forget.
