NEWS RIVA DEL GARDA FIERECONGRESSI RICONFERMA ROBERTO PELLEGRINI L’assemblea dei soci di Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, nella cui compagine per la prima volta compaiono due nuovi soci dal mondo del credito, approva il bilancio d’esercizio e nomina il nuovo consiglio d’amministrazione, riconfermando Roberto Pellegrini alla presidenza.

Riva del Garda Fierecongressi chiude il 2018 con un bilancio di 14,9 milioni di euro, con un +2% rispetto all’esercizio precedente, e un risultato operativo lordo di 765mila euro, in aumento del 12%.

Un bilancio positivo, approvato all’unanimità dai soci dell’assemblea di Riva del Garda Fierecongressi che comprende: Lido di Riva del Garda Srl (33,34%), Garda Trentino Sviluppo Spa (44,78%), Garda Trentino Spa Azienda per il Turismo (4,5%), Trentino Trasporti Spa (4,89%) e i due nuovi soci Cassa Rurale Alto Garda BBC (6,25%) e Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Trento e Rovereto (6,25%), che sono entrati nella società in seguito

all’operazione di ricapitalizzazione deliberata a gennaio 2019 e motivata dall’investimento immobiliare in itinere finalizzato alla riqualificazione del quartiere fieristico di Riva del Garda.

L’Assemblea ha anche nominato il nuovo consiglio d’amministrazione che vede Roberto Pellegrini riconfermato alla presidenza e composto dai seguenti membri: Graziano Rigotti, Massimo Piffer, Enzo Bassetti, Silvia Guella, Ilaria Torboli, Carlo Gualdi. Mentre alla presidenza del collegio sindacale è stato nominato Michele Iori, e in qualità di membri effettivi Michela Zambotti e Mauro Cominotti.

NEWS SIRO BADON È IL NUOVO PRESIDENTE ASSOCALZATURIFICI

BENSIMON FIORUCCI STYLE Bensimon, l’iconica tennis francese, celebra il suo 40 anniversario e per l’occasione il designer Jonny Mole ne disegna una versione “Fiorucci style”.

Bianca, con profili rosa pesca e un patch con gli iconici angioletti di Elio Fiorucci: è l’omaggio che il designer italiano Jonny Mole fa a Fiorucci. Una scelta non casuale, visto che Serge Bensimon ha sempre ammirato e tratto ispirazione dal lavoro di Elio Fiorucci. La tennis è uno dei 40 pezzi originali della mostraanniversario “Dal Bianco al colore” in corso alla Joyce Gallery di Parigi.

Il bianco cui allude il titolo della mostra si riferisce al primo stock di scarpe acquistate dall’esercito francese e poi tinte dal giovane Serge Bensimon all’inizio della sua carriera di designer, nel 1979.

Fu così che nacque una icona dello stile che ancora oggi continua ad ispirare con il suo stile senza tempo.

Il consiglio di Assocalzaturifici riunito a Napoli in occasione del World Footwear Congress ha designato Siro Badon come nuovo presidente dell’associazione.

La nomina arrivata “a grande maggioranza” del consiglio, dovrà ora essere ratificata dall’assemblea generale di Assocalzaturifici che si terrà il prossimo 26 giugno presso la sede milanese, in occasione delle Assise Generali di Confindustria Moda.

Siro Badon succede ad Annarita Pilotti che ha scelto la cornice del congresso per fare un consuntivo dei suoi quattro anni di mandato, raccontando le sfide, i momenti difficili che l’avevano addirittura spinta a pensare di mollare, il riscatto e i successi “Alla fine sono riuscita a conquistare la fiducia di molti”.

Siro Badon dirige assieme al fratello Roberto il calzaturificio De Robert di Saonara, in quella Riviera del Brenta che è la meta dei brand di lusso di tutto il mondo. Assieme all’attività imprenditoriale ha da sempre svolto una vivace attività corporativa, presiedendo ACRIB, l’associazione dei calzaturieri della Riviera del Brenta, la Sezione Calzature di Confindustria Venezia Rovigo. È anche stato vice presidente Assocalzaturifici con delega alla formazione.

BENSIMON ‘FIORUCCI STYLE’

SIRO BADON IS THE NEW ASSOCALZATURIFICI PRESIDENT

Bensimon, the iconic French tennis shoe celebrates its 40th anniversary, and on the occasion, the designer Jonny Mole creates a “Fiorucci style” version. White, with peach pink trim and a patch with the iconic little angels of Elio Fiorucci: this is the tribute Italian designer Jonny Mole pays to Fiorucci. A choice that is anything but casual, since Serge Bensimon has always admired and considered the work of Elio Fiorucci to be a source of inspiration.

The tennis shoe is one of 40 original pieces on show at the exhibitionanniversary “From White to Colour” being held at the Joyce Gallery in Paris. The white referred to by the exhibition’s title is in reference to the first stock of shoes acquired by the French company, which were then dyed by a young Serge Bensimon at the beginning of his designer career in 1979. These are the origins of an iconic style, which to this day continues to inspire with its timeless style.

The Assocalzaturifici Council present in Naples for the World Footwear Congress nominated Siro Badon as the new President of the Association.

Nominated by the “vast majority” of the council, he will officially be inducted into office by the Assocalzaturifici General Assembly on 26 June in the association’s headquarters, during the Confindustria Moda General Conference.

Siro Badon takes over from Annarita Pilotti, who chose the Congress as the place to speak of her four years of office that were full of challenges and difficulties that almost led to her resignation, followed by her reemergence and successes. “In the end, I managed to win over the trust of many individuals”.

Together with his brother Roberto, Siro Badon heads the Calzaturificio De Robert di Saonara, in Riviera del Brenta, which is the district that attracts luxury brands from around the world. Alongside his entrepreneurial activities, he has always been an active figure in the industry, presiding over ACRIB, the association of Riviera del Brenta footwear manufacturers, and the Confindustria Venezia Rovigo Footwear Section. He was also the Assocalzaturifici Vice President in charge of education and professional training.

Prodotta all’interno della Speedfactory con la sua innovativa tecnologia, la Futurecraft Loop è la prima scarpa progettata per essere completamente riutilizzata. La sua tomaia seamless è prodotta con un filato di TPU che è fuso all’intersuola senza l’utilizzo di collanti.

Una volta che le scarpe arrivano alla fine del ciclo di vita, possono essere restituite ad Adidas dove saranno pulite, compostate e fuse per formare un nuovo paio di scarpe. Senza scarti e con perfetta economia circolare.

Futurecraft è quindi design e innovazione, ma ancora di più arte, scienza, tecnologia, umanità, ingegneria, sostenibilità.

La prima generazione di Futurecraft Loop verrà distribuita con un programma di beta globale con 200 importanti creatori dalle principali città del mondo. I dati raccolti dalla prevendita verranno utilizzati per definire una roadmap per la versione più ampia destinata alla primavera 2021.

HEITOR KLEIN, TRENT’ANNI A SERVIZIO DI ABICALÇADOS Dopo tanti anni passati a dirigere l’associazione brasiliana della calzatura, Heitor Klein passa il testimone a Haroldo Ferreira.

L’annuncio formale è avvenuto in occasione del Premio Direçoes lo scorso 25 aprile, ma l’avvicendamento tra i due manager avverrà solo al completamento delle formalità burocratiche: fino a tale momento, Haroldo ricoprirà il ruolo di direttore esecutivo.

La famiglia di Heitor Klein e tutto lo staff di Abicalçados si sono stretti attorno a Heitor Klein per manifestare affetto e ammirazione per una carriera così lunga e costellata da tanti successi. Un video tributo ha ripercorso le tappe salienti dell’attività di Heitor Klein che non ha saputo nascondere la sua commozione: “qui accanto a me ho le persone più importanti della mia vita, la mia famiglia e il mio staff di Abicalçados”.

Lo stesso Haroldo Ferreira nel dichiarare che “Prendere in mano una organizzazione nata 35 anni fa, rispettata da tutti gli enti della società brasiliana, che rappresenta un importante settore dell’economia del Brasile, comporta un grande orgoglio ma anche una grande responsabilità” ha espresso gratitudine nei confronti del suo predecessore: “Il lascito di Heitor Klein è di aver organizzato Abicalçados con un team multidisciplinare in totale armonia e forte, validi elementi che dimostrano di fatto che l’unità è la forza”.

by Haroldo Ferreira. The formal announcement was made during Premio Direçoes this past 25 April, but the succession between the two managers will occur only once bureaucratic formalities have been finalised: until that moment, Haroldo will cover the role of executive director. The family of Heitor Klein and the entire Abicalçados staff came together to celebrate Mr. Klein and express their affection and admiration for such a lengthy and successful career full of many achievements. A video in tribute to him looked back on some of the most important moments in his career, and Heitor Klein, who was visibly moved, declared: “Here, next to me, are the most important people in my life, my family, and Abicalçados’s staff”.

Haroldo Ferreira himself declared that “Taking over an organisation that was founded 35 years ago, an organisation respected by all agents of Brazilian society, while representing an important sector for the Brazilian economy, is not only a source of great pride, but also entails great responsibility”. He also expressed his gratitude to his predecessor: “Heitor Klein’s legacy is that of having left behind an organised Abicalçados, with a multidisciplinary team that is strong and in total harmony, valid elements that demonstrate that, in practice, unity is strength”

ADIDAS, THE CIRCULAR SHOE With the occasion of Earth Day on 22 April, Adidas presented the Futurcraft Loop running sneaker made from 100% recyclable TPU. Produced in the company’s Speedfactory with its innovative technology, Futurecraft Loop is the first shoe designed to be completely recyclable.

Its seamless upper is made from TPU yarn that is fused to a midsole without the need for glue. Once the shoes arrive at the end of their lifecycle, they can be returned to Adidas where they will be washed, ground down to pellets and melted for a new pair of shoes — with zero waste and a perfect circular economy.

Futurecraft is accordingly design and innovation, but even more it’s art, science, technology, humanity, engineering, and sustainability.

The first generation of the Futurecraft Loop will be distributed as part of a global beta program with 200 leading creators from across the world’s major cities. The data collected from the pre-release will be used as a roadmap for a wider release currently targeted for spring 2021.

The launching of the capsule collection is accompanied by images from the film “Soft Shoe Schuffle” by Samuel Taylor with contemporary dance as the protagonist: three flats on the notes of a drum roll, suggest with their steps the fun, entertaining, and comfy side of the Universal Works x Birkenstock models. The unusual capsule collection reedits the classic Boston and Zurich models in suede leather with colour combos like taupe and sand, and navy and slate grey (available only in the Zurich model), featuring the classic black Birkenstock buckle, with a shock-absorbent insole, and white trim on the sole that runs into the sole’s sand-coloured grooves.

Il nuovo store sfrutta la superficie espositiva per esaltare al meglio tutte le collezioni del brand, grazie ad un concept lineare e un’illuminazione studiata per mettere in evidenza tutte le sfumature delle proposte da donna, uomo e junior.

FLY FLOT OTTIMI RISULTATI DALLE FIERE Azienda leader nella calzatura confort, Fly Flot è stata premiata dalle vetrine fieristiche dove ha registrato ordini in crescita double digit: Germania +12%, Francia +15%, Gran Bretagna +10% e Belgio +20%.

Merito dell’eccezionale performance, la strategia di affiancare prodotti tradizionali a quelli più innovativi e di allargare l’offerta ai diversi target d’età che ha portato l’azienda al traguardo del milione di paia vendute per l’AI. “I prodotti che hanno maggiormente incrementato le vendite sono le nuove linee Fly Boot e Coccola, che si rivolgono ad un pubblico più giovane rispetto al nostro solito target – dichiara Alice Migliorati, amministratrice elegata dell’azienda – Per questi nuovi modelli, rigorsamente made in Italy, come il resto del campionario invernale, il successo è stato trasversale”.

Fly Boot sono degli stivaletti casual outdoor con suole morbide e sottopiede memory antishock, alcuni dei modelli sono rivestiti in pelliccia di microfibra. Coccola è invece una rivoluzionaria pantofola con tomaia in pelliccia di microfibra e colori vivaci, adatta ad un pubblico giovane.

Fly flot ha chiuso il 2018 con un fatturato di 18 milioni di euro e, alla luce dell’attuale andamento, prevede di chiudere il 2019 in forte crescita.

Thanks to an exceptional performance and a strategy that flanks traditional products with the most innovative ones, while also extending the offering to include a more extensive age range, Fly Flot arrived at a new milestone of one million pairs sold for the FW season.

“The products that increased our sales figures the most were the new Fly Boot and Coccola lines, which are aimed at a public that is younger than our usual target – declares Alice Migliorati, CEO of the company – For these new models, which are strictly Made in Italy, like the rest of the winter proposals, the success was across-the-board”.

Fly Boot features a line of casual outdoor ankle boots with soft soles and memory anti-shock insoles, with some of the models even lined in microfiber fur. Coccola is instead a revolutionary slipper with microfiber fur upper and bright colours, suited to a younger public.

Fly Flot ended 2018 with a turnover of 18 million euros and, in light of its current sales, it expects to end 2019 with a strong uptrend.

CLARKS, ANOTHER OPENING IN ITALY After the opening in Genoa, in April, Clarks opened a new store in Turin, in via Roma 11.

The retail strategy of the brand aimed at opening up new flagship stores in the main cities of the Italian peninsula continues, thus signalling the primary focus of the brand on the national market. A gift to the brand’s Italian clientele that is increasingly appreciative of the timeless Clarks model, while reconfirming its loyalty to it season after season.

The new store takes advantage of the exhibition space to highlight in the best way possible all the collections of the brand, thanks to a linear concept and lighting that has been specifically studied to highlight the wide variety of women’s, men’s and junior proposals.

NEWS LUIS ONOFRE È IL NUOVO PRESIDENTE CEC

PONY: PARTE DA BRERA ALL’EUROPA La conquista dell’Europa parte da Milano per Pony, brand della calzatura ginnica a stelle e strisce acronimo di Product of New York, con l’apertura di un punto vendita nello storico quartiere di Brera, in via Ponte Vetero 15.

Nate nel 1972, le calzature Pony hanno accompagnato i grandi campioni dello sport nel conseguimento dei loro primati: Pelè quando ha segnato il suo gol nr. 3.000, Paolo Rossi stella del Mundial 1982, il campione dei pesi massimi Mohamed Alì... Nello store milanese si troveranno i modelli storici del brand, come le top star e le basket City Wings, insieme ai modelli innovativi di retro running ed il mondo femminile.

Distribuito da Baco Distribution in Italia e Benelux, Pony ha registrato ricavi per 1,5 milioni di euro nel 2018 e punta a raggiungere quota 2 milioni nel 2019.

Si è insediato a marzo a capo della CEC-Confederazione Europea della Calzatura, Luis Onofre. Già presidente di APPICAPS (l’associazione portoghese dei produttori di calzature), succede all’italiano Cleto Sagripanti.

PONY: FROM BRERA TO EUROPE Conquering Europe from Milan, the brand of stars and stripes gym shoes, Pony, which is an acronym for Product of New York, opens a store in the historic Brera neighbourhood in via Ponte Vetero 15.

LUIS ONOFRE IS THE NEW CEC PRESIDENT In March, Luis Onofre took office as the new President of the CECEuropean Confederation of the Footwear Industry.

Already the President of APPICAPS (the Portuguese Footwear, Components, and Leather Goods Manufacturers’ Association), he succeedes the Italian Cleto Sagripanti in the role as new President.

Forty-seven years old, representing the third generation of a family working in the footwear industry, Luis Onofre produces elegant women’s shoes with his eponymous brand that destines 97% of its production for exports. His shoes can be found on the feet of famous international celebrities and stars, such as Penelope Cruz, Naomi Watts, and Michelle Obama.

After getting his degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Porto, Luis Onofre continued with his studies, graduating also from the Design and Footwear Academy. In 2014, the President of Portugal, Aníbal Cavaco Silva, distinguished him with the Order of Entrepreneurial Merit.

CEC represents an industrial sector with around 21 thousand companies in Europe employing 278 thousand individuals.

MASSIMO BONINI, NEW HEADQUARTERS The Massimo Bonini showroom of shoes and accessories leaves its location in via Montenapeleone 2 and 3 and via Ceresio 7 to transfer to its new mega headquarters and sole location in via Manzoni 41.

It will be the historic 17th century palace of Borroni d’Adda to host the new headquarters of Massimo Bonini. An extremely prestigious location that extends across 1600 square meters, featuring frescoed rooms and antique chandeliers. This striking setting will highlight the value of the collections presented by more than 30 brands, including names of the calibre of Alexander Vauhtier, Amina Muaddi, Delpozo, Fausto Puglisi, Marco de Vincenzo, Msgm, N° 21 and Sportmax.

Currently under restoration, the space will be ready in June, just in time for the purchasing campaign, with the officially inauguration not scheduled however until September.

AD ECCO IL DANISH DESIGN AWARD Adottare una produzione circolare e allo stesso tempo realizzare un prodotto eccellente dal punto di vista del design. È quello che ha fatto la danese Ecco assieme alla Design School Kolding con la creazione della collezione Ecco Sealo realizzata al 100% con scarti di pelle, piante marine ed alghe. Il progetto è stato premiato con Il Danish Design Award nella categoria Visionary Concept 2018 e rappresenta un esempio virtuoso della circolarità, una risposta alternativa allo smaltimento, che ogni anno comporta l’invio al macero di 300 milioni di scarpe. “La cooperazione tra Ecco e la scuola Kolding – recita la motivazione della Giuria - mira in particolare alla risoluzione del problema della circolarità dal punto di vista del design e del commercio ed è un fattore importante nello sviluppo di soluzioni a lungo termine”.

La collezione Sealo si compone di tre modelli realizzati col recupero di alghe e residui di piante marine, e dagli scarti della pelle provenienti da precedenti lavorazioni eseguite presso la conceria di proprietà della Ecco. Lavorati assieme e trasformati in un materiale granuloso che, processato, ha preso la forma di in un materiale resistente e adatto alla lavorazione di scarpe.

ECCO RECEIVES THE DANISH DESIGN AWARD

The Brazilian brand of deluxe rubber footwear signs a new prestigious agreement with the Fila brand and presents its new capsule collection in Milan at the WOK store. Melissa’s surprising mix of design, fashion, and art meets up with the tradition of the historic Italian brand of FILA dating back to 1911. Thus, the Brazilian brand’s portfolio of prestigious collaborations is enriched by a new exclusive partnership that chooses Milan, the city of fashion, for its presentation.

The capsule collection conceived by Melissa in collaboration with Fila is in fact the protagonist of an extremely stylish launching, with an exclusive event to be held at Federica Zambon’s WOK Store. During its debut party, fans of the two brands gave the chance to see the capsule collection made up by three shoe styles and one accessory: the Melissa Sneaker +FILA in two different versions that feature the Italian brand’s historic colours of white, red, and blue. There is then the Melissa Slide +FILA, which reedits one of the most popular models of the Brazilian brand with the logos of the co-branding on the top side of the shoe. The Danish company Ecco together with the Design School Kolding created the Ecco Sealo collection made from 100% leather discards, marine plant life and seaweed. The project was nominated in the 2018 Visionary Concept category and granted the Danish Design Award, thanks to its virtuous example of circular sustainability and its alternative solution to waste disposal, which every year sees 300 million pairs of shoes thrown away. “The cooperation between ECCO and Design School Kolding – said the jury about the project – aims in particular to address the circularity problem seen from a design and trade point of view and is an important factor in the development of long-term solutions.” The Sealo collection features three models made from harvested seaweed and marine plant life residuals, along with leftover leather scraps coming from the tannery owned by Ecco. Worked together, they are transformed into a granular material, which, once processed, assumes the shape and characteristics of a resistant material suited to shoe production.

UNA GRANDE ARENA PER IL CONFRONTO INTERNAZIONALE Per la prima volta in Italia il Congresso Mondiale della Calzatura promosso da CECConfederazione Europea della Calzatura ha scelto Napoli ed il suo ricco distretto calzaturiero come location per la sua sesta edizione.

Di respiro internazionale, l’evento ha ospitato otto tavole rotonde con 35 relatori provenienti da ogni parte del mondo, e ha registrato la presenza del Ministro dei Beni Culturali Alberto Bonisoli, il Presiden-

globali di intraprendere la via della sostenibilità e della digitalizzazione. Non come oneri, bensì come risorse per la competitività e la generazione di reddito.

Ricco anche il programma che ha accompagnato i lavori congressuali: mercoledì 3 aprile le visite alla Stazione Sperimentale per la Pelle, alla sede di Kiton e allo showroom di Mario Valentino, da molti anni eccellenza della calzatura napoletana nel mondo.

Ci sono poi state le occasioni conviviali del cocktail di benvenuto presso il Circolo nautico Rari Nantes accompagnato dalle musiche della canzone napoletana, e la cena di gala presso la suggestiva location del Museo Ferroviario Nazio-

The public instead was made up by over three hundred participants coming from 15 different countries not only in Europe, but also from China, South Korea, South America, Canada, the USA and Russia.

The three macro-themes of this edition - the connected and sophisticated global consumer, manufacturing towards a circular economy, and the next generation of merchants/ retailers – allowed for a beneficial exchange of ideas and insight, while pointing towards the pathway of sustainability and digitalisation as the only option for those businesses interested in working with success in the present-day global scenario. A pathway that is not so much a sacrifice, but rather a tool to be used in gaining a competitive edge and generating revenue. The programme both preceding and following the talks was also rich in content: Wednesday 3 April included visits to the Experimental Station Skins Industry, the Kiton Factory, and the Mario Valentino Showroom, which for many years has represented the excellence of Neapolitan footwear worldwide. There were then opportunities for socialisation represented by the inaugural cocktail with typical Neapolitan music held at the Circolo Nautico Rari Nantes, while the Gala Dinner, held in the striking location of the Railway National Museum of Pietrarsa, featured classic Neapolitan cuisine as its protagonist.

One of the top European speakers for change, the future, disruptive strategies, digital transformation, innovative business models, and sales, marketing and customer-oriented success, Dietmar Dahmen, was charged with the task of warming the public up at the beginning of the Congress and giving the final speech at the end.

The contemporary consumer and digitalisation seen not as an option, but rather a necessity, were the themes of his speeches.

If global business is like a fight in the boxing ring, then Dahmer urges businesses to be proactive, more than disruptive.

The key words for conquering the modern consumer are easy, fast, connected, and fun.

Or rather: everything that makes the lives of consumers easier, while allowing them to make a minimum amount of effort, is destined to be a success.

This is also true when speaking of the ability to rapidly satisfy consumer needs, or even stay one step ahead of them. Connection is a key factor that should constantly be put into

use to keep the dialogue between business/ brand and consumer open. It is also important to offer experiences that make the time of purchasing fun. “Let’s not forget that in 2025, 94% of all purchases will be done by machine! – he declared – The digital age puts an end to ‘business as usual’, and kicks off ‘personal business’, with individual sales and proposals. What’s the best way to deal with all this? By studying data”. “Today – he adds – platforms already drive 78% of all purchases, offering 89% of customers an experience that 86% of them are willing to pay extra for”. There is an extensive amount of available technology and knowing how to manage it is essential: AI, 3D robots, XR mixed reality, blockchain… each one of these tools allows a brand to create its very own story that subsequently becomes a resource in generating profit.

As far as digitalisation is concerned, Dahmer’s recommendation is to no longer believe in the tale of the winning horse: “In the digital world those who are unwilling to change are destined to succumb”. The bet is to aim high, while not settling for a simple +2%, but rather aspiring to achieve +3400%!

Il Ministro dei Beni Culturali Alberto Bonisoli, ha indicato nella digitalizzazione e sostenibilità due temi non scontati: “pensiamo che siano i due fattori più importanti del mercato oggi, soprattutto per il nostro paese che deve avere delle ambizioni all’altezza del nostro sistema manifatturiero”. In occasione del congresso lancia anche un’iniziativa che è vicina anche al settore calzaturiero: “Per la prima volta Moda e Design entrano nella struttura organizzativa del MiBac: la nuova Direzione svilupperà politiche a supporto dei due settori, li valorizzerà con la creazione di una giornata internazionale del Design, proteggendo il patrimonio di competenze del mondo industriale”.

GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS AT THE CONGRESS Underlining the importance of the Congress were the representatives of governmental institutions present on the stage of the Teatrino di Corte, who welcomed the Congress’s public, while also confirming their full support of policies in favour of this manufacturing sector that has contributed to the growth of the national economy. The Italian Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities, Alberto Bonisoli, spoke of how digitalisation and sustainability are two themes that should not be underestimated: “We believe that they are the two most important factors at play in today’s market, above all in our country that must have its ambitions aligned with the high quality of our manufacturing system”. On the occasion of the Congress, he launched an initiative that could also have positive repercussions for the footwear industry: “For the first time, Fashion and Design become part of the MiBac organisational structure: the new Management team will develop policies that support these two sectors, while promoting them with the creation of an International Design Day, which

The Mayor of Naples, Luigi de Magistris, welcomed the public with great pride: “We are very happy above all because Naples was chosen for such a high-level international initiative, and also because our territory of Naples and Campania represents a rich heritage in these arts, trades, footwear, and in general, the entire manufacturing industry.

It is a territory full of wonderful traditions that is capable of innovating and opening itself up to social contaminations”.

They need only overcome the specifics, while learning how to better communicate their own values. Two cutting-edge case histories in terms of sustainability are those of the footwear manufacturer El Naturalista (Spain) and leather goods company Belcinto (Portugal): they embraced this philosophy when it was not yet even in vogue, encouraging others to go down this road, while avoiding practices of “greenwashing”, which can create a boomerang effect. Le seconda giornata di discussione si focalizza sul tema della prossima generazione di commercianti/ retailer con le case history di Fratelli Rossetti, Del Pozo (Spagna) e Cariuma (Brasile) che ribadiscono: “Il mondo digitale non è solo la vendita on line, ma tenere costantemente aperta la connessione con il cliente – spiega Diego Rossetti, direttore generale di Fratelli Rossetti – questo senza perdere l’identità del marchio. Nella nostra azienda stiamo arrivando alla fase tre, con l’implementazione della CRM, customer relationship

management, per effettuare azioni di marketing targettizzate e di clienteling sempre più evolute”.

Chiudono la giornata gli interventi di Tommaso Cancellara, direttore di Assocalzaturifici, sul ruolo dei marketplace virtuali e fisici, Antonio Paone, direttore della napoletana Kiton che presenta la grande tradizione sartoriale dell’azienda, e di Nuccio Diliberti che ricorda come spesso, il veicolo digitale, come una semplice foto su Instagram, possa trasformarsi in una visita nello store fisico.

The last panel discussion of the day ended with the case histories of Vibram, Gemi and Glent Shoes, which demonstrate how customisation and rapid delivery will be the trends of the fashion industry’s future, supported by new digital technologies that allow the individual needs of every consumer to be met: “Customisation is the next revolution in luxury – concludes Carlos Baranda from Glent Shoes (Spain) – It is what we offer our customers. Thanks to devices developed with the Inescop research centre, we allow our customers to measure their feet, create the shape, develop a personalised design, and then have their shoes produced by hand and delivered in a very short amount of time”.

The second day of talks focused on the theme of the next generation of merchants/retailers with the case histories of Fratelli Rossetti, Del Pozo (Spain) and Cariuma (Brazil) which reaffirmed: “The digital world is not only about online sales, but also about constantly keeping the connection with the customer open – explained Diego Rossetti, general director of Fratelli Rossetti –without however losing the identity of the brand. In our company we are now about to enter phase three, with the implementation of CRM, customer relationship management, which will allow us to undertake targeted marketing actions and increasingly evolved clienteling”.

Ending the day of talks was Tommaso Cancellara, Director of Assocalzaturifici, who spoke on the role of the virtual and physical marketplace, Antonio Paone, manager of the Neapolitan company Kiton, who presented the great sartorial tradition of the company, and Nuccio Diliberti, who recalled how often digital vehicles, like a simple photo on Instagram, can result in a visit to the physical store.

CLETO SAGRIPANTI Quale importanza riveste organizzare il congresso mondiale della calzatura, qui a Napoli?

“L’organizzazione del WFC in Italia è importante perché attraverso la valorizzazione di un distretto che ha dato tanto all’associazione italiana, attraverso Napoli, facciamo conoscere il resto d’Italia. Anche perché Napoli è un posto che ti resta nel cuore: magari quando arrivi vedi le sue contraddizioni, quando parti ti ricordi solo le cose belle della città: l’arte, la cultura, le tradizioni manufatturiere…”.

Questo congresso rappresenta anche l’ultimo atto della sua presidenza…

“Il mio percorso associativo non poteva concludersi nel migliore dei modi: prima di tutto con un bellissimo evento, di contenuti, e in amicizia, perché in questi anni di confronti, anche accesi, con le persone, sono scaturite le più importanti amicizie”.

A cosa si dedicherà in futuro?

“Dal punto di vista associativo mi metto a disposizione, con un ruolo di consulente”.

They are none other than Cleto Sagripanti, President of CEC and member of the Congress’s Organising Committee; Luis Onofre, the newly appointed CEC President who will take over in June as well as the President of APICCAPS; and Thomas G. Just how important is the organisation of the World Footwear Congress here in Naples?

“The organisation of the WFC in Italy is important, because by promoting a district that has given so much to the Italian association; we are able to introduce the rest of Italy through Naples. Also because Naples is a place that stays close to your heart: maybe when you first arrive you see its contradictions, but when you leave you remember only the best of the city: its art, culture, manufacturing tradition…”

This Congress also represents the final act in your role as President…

“My pathway in the association could not have ended on a better note: there was a wonderful event, with great contents, and I was among friends, because the often intense discussions I’ve had with people over the years have resulted in a number of important friendships”.

What will you dedicate yourself to in the future?

“In terms of the Association, I’ve already made myself available in the role of consultant”.

Quale direzione imprimerà al suo mandato in seno alla CEC? “Porterò avanti con coerenza gli stessi dossier aperti dal mio predecessore Sagripanti, e in particolare difenderò al massimo l’industria europea della calzatura anche riguardo la questione del “made in”. Un altro punto sul quale porrò attenzione è il ricambio generazionale, con una proposta importante per il futuro. Dobbiamo lavorare per garantire il futuro della nostra industria”.

Bata come affronta il tema della sostenibilità?

“Abbiamo sempre ritenuto la sostenibilità un tema importante. Sostenibilità significa anche nessun scarto di materiale, ottimizzazione delle risorse, aspetti che poi impattano anche sul prezzo. Facendo un buon lavoro su questo punto, siamo in grado di proporre un prodotto che è più competitivo. E quindi si tratta di un aspetto estremamente sensibile, che abbiamo introdotto molto tempo fa, occupandoci tra i primi di questioni che vanno dall’utilizzo corretto dell’acqua fino ad arrivare al materiale delle suole”.

Per quanto invece riguarda la digitalizzazione, come vi ponete?

“Io credo che il grande business di oggi sia la digitalizzazione degli store. Con la digitalizzazione si ha una straordinaria possibilità di offrire una maggiore selezione, informazioni di ogni genere… non si tratta di un’espediente per vendere sul media digitale, bensì di informare i clienti e offrire un nuovo approccio al punto vendita. E se i clienti sono felici, ritornano in negozio”.

What direction will your appointment as the new CEC President take?

“I will continue to make great efforts to move forward with the same dossier started by my predecessor Sagripanti, and in particular, I will do my best to defend the European footwear industry also with regards to the ‘Made in’ question.

Another issue I will focus on is the generational changeover, with an important proposal for the future. We must work to guarantee a future for our industry”.

How does Bata approach the theme of sustainability?

“We have always considered sustainability to be a theme of importance. Sustainability also means no material discards and an optimisation of resources, and this impacts the final price. If we do a good job in this regard, we are able to propose a more competitive product. We are dealing with what is an extremely sensitive aspect, which we introduced a while back, taking particular care with issues ranging from the correct use of water all the way up to the material of the soles”.

What is your take on digitalisation?

“I believe that big business today lies in the digitalisation of stores. With digitalisation, there is the extraordinary possibility of offering a greater selection and all kinds of information… it’s not just a gimmick to sell better through digital media, but rather a way of keeping customers informed, while offering a new approach for stores. And if customers are happy, they will return to the store”.

I SAPORI DI NAPOLI È il Museo Ferroviario Nazionale di Pietrarsa la suggestiva cornice della cena di gala del Congresso Mondiale della calzatura. La prelibata cultura enogastronomica partenopea è stata la vera protagonista della serata: al cocktail di benvenuto gli ospiti hanno potuto gustare specialità come la celeberrima mozzarella, il fritto di paranza e la pizza, icona della cucina napoletana, offerte in fastosi banchetti allestiti davanti ai vecchi locomotori dell’esposizione.

La cena ha rinnovato i gusti e sapori della gastronomia locale offrendo ai 300 ospiti intervenuti una occasione conviviale indimenticabile, che si è conclusa con babà e sfogliatelle, accompagnate dall’immancabile rito napoletano del caffè.

THE FLAVOURS OF NAPLES The Pietrarsa Railway National Museum was the striking setting that hosted the World Footwear Congress gala dinner. The delicious Neapolitan proposal of local food and wine was the true protagonist of the evening: at the inaugural cocktail, guests were given the chance to taste specialities like the renowned mozzarella, paranza [small fried fish] and pizza, the icon of Neapolitan cuisine, presented on sumptuous banquet tables set up in front of the old locomotives on display.

The dinner renewed the tastes and flavours of local cuisine, offering 300 guests an unforgettable evening, which ended with babà sweets and puff pastries, accompanied by the ever-present Neapolitan tradition of coffee.

Sul fronte dei visitatori, la scorsa edizione attestati a circa 13mila unità, si attendono buyer, catene di negozi, grandi distributori, ma anche catene fast fashion, private label ed e-commerce. Abbastanza per dare vita, come ogni edizione, ad una stagione delle vendite vivace e business oriented.

Un momento importante di confronto e di analisi dei trend in atto sui mercati globali sarà invece offerto dall’opening talk inaugurale, intitolato “La sostenibilità di filiera del sistema moda” al quale prenderanno parte istituzioni, membri delle associazioni, imprenditori e stampa internazionale.

SHOES AND BAGS BECOME ALLIES AT RIVA DEL GARDA Now in its 92nd edition, Expo Riva Schuh will be held from 15 to 18 June, offering a merchandise selection in line with the needs of global markets and renewed exhibition spaces.

Expo Riva Schuh and Gardabags join forces and present themselves at the June edition in the single location of the Palafiere in via Baltera at Riva del Garda. Thus, together, they give life to the biggest international business hub with an integrated offering of footwear and accessories for the volume segment. While the selection dedicated to footwear returns to enliven the exhibition in Pavilions A-B-C, extending across an area of 34,500 sqm, Gardabags bags instead debuts in a space of 4,000 net sqm in the new Hangar D. “We are pursuing a strategy that is in line with our mission: to offer an increasingly accurate selection of the merchandise proposal coupled with innovative services and the renewal of the exhibition spaces – says Giovanni Laezza, General Manager of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi – The single location hosting the two events offers buyers and professionals a unique and comprehensive experience. Altogether, Expo Riva Schuh+Gardabags will present an offering of over 1500 exhibitors coming from the world’s most

important production districts, while also presenting the special pavilions of the Top China Fashion and India Halls, along with the collective presence of exhibitors from countries like Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Hong Kong, and Tunisia... As far as visitors are concerned, 13 thousand were registered at the last edition, and this edition will include the participation of buyers, large distribution chains, but also fast fashion chains, private labels, and e-commerce channels. Enough to kick off, as with each new edition, a dynamic and business-oriented sales season. An important moment for interaction and on-going trend analyses on global markets will instead be offered by the opening inaugural talk, entitled “Sustainability of the supply chain in the fashion system” which will see the participation of institutions, association members, entrepreneurs and the international press.

Since Expo Riva Schuh is also known for being a widespread exhibition, select brands will accordingly display their collections at the hotels of Riva del Garda, while merging with the rest of the exhibition itinerary, thanks to convenient shuttle connections between the two.

MICAM ENTRA IN PARADISO E PROFILA I SUOI VISITATORI Soprattutto europei, dettaglianti e decision maker: è la fotografia dei visitatori di MICAM presentata in occasione del lancio della campagna di immagine “dantesca”.

La sesta ed ultima tappa della campagna d’immagine di MICAM conclude il viaggio dantesco nelle sfere celesti del paradiso, là dove regna la Bellezza. Un quadro leggiadro, in toni pastelli, che incornicia due giovani ragazze ed un bambino che si scambiano mele dorate, e ci conduce verso il prossimo appuntamento di MICAM dal 15 al 18 settembre, a Fiera Milano.

In occasione della sua presentazione, gli organizzatori hanno reso noti i dati di profilazione dei visitatori della 87.ma edizione che confermano ancora una volta il primato degli Europei, con l’85,2% delle presenze. Seguono l’Asia

(9,8%), il Nord America (1,9%, in crescita dello 0,2% rispetto alla precedente edizione) e il Nord Africa (1,6%,, +0,3% rispetto all’edizione precedente), il Sud America si attesta all’1% (+0,5% rispetto all’edi-

zione precedente) e l’Australia allo 0,5%.

Capolista dell’Europa è l’Italia con il 56% delle presenze, seguono Spagna (5,5%), Francia (4,3%) e Germania (4%). Per l’Asia, invece, è il Giappone il

Tra i visitatori gli uomini costituiscono la maggioranza in Italia, mentre le donne pre-

valgono per l’estero. L’età è compresa tra i 40-60 e il 71% dei visitatori esteri ed il 63% di quelli stranieri proviene da una PMI. In particolare, i dettaglianti sono la categoria più rappresentata, in Italia il 26% di questi è arrivato dalla Lombardia, il 10% dal Piemonte e a seguire da Emilia Romagna, Veneto e Campania.

Importanti due ultimi dati: il 64% dei visitatori ha un ruolo

decisionale sulle scelte d’acquisto, e quindi rappresenta una concreta opportunità di business per le imprese in fiera. Infine, themicam.com, sito della manifestazione revisionato e ottimizzato per una più facile fruizione, viene ad oggi utilizzato dall’82% dei visitatori. All’ultima edizione d MICAM, il 96% dei visitatori si è registrato.

MICAM GOES TO PARADISE AND PROFILES ITS VISITORS Europeans, retailers, and decision makers represent the majority of visitors: a snapshot of MICAM’s visitors presented on the occasion of the launching of the Dante-inspired ad campaign.

The sixth and last stopover in the MICAM ad campaign leads to the celestial gates of Paradise where Beauty reigns supreme. With an elegant image, in which a background of pastel colours frames two young girls and a boy exchanging golden apples, the next appointment is from 15 to 18 September at Fiera Milano.

On the occasion of the presentation, the organisers announced the data concerning visitor profiling from the 87th edition, with Europe once again confirmed in the lead and accounting for 85.2% of the participants. This was followed by Asia (9.8%), North America (1.9%, up +0.2% compared to the previous edition) and North Africa (1.6%, up +0.3% compared to the previous edition), while South America came in at 1% (+0.5% over the last edition) and Australia at 0.5%.

Head of the classification in Europe was Italy, which accounted for 56% of visitors, followed by Spain (5.5%), France (4.3%) and Germany (4%). For Asia, instead, the first country in the classification was Japan, accounting for 19% of Asian visitors, followed

by Turkey (18.3%) and China (15.8%).

PITTI BIMBO LANCIA “THE KID’S LAB” Nonostante la congiuntura non proprio favorevole per la moda bambino, Pitti Bimbo si presenta all’appuntamento con la 89.ma edizione con tanti nuovi nomi, tra cui quello di Emporio Armani, progetti mirati ad esaltare il lifestyle del bambino e la componente di ricerca.

Grande novità dell’edizione che si terrà a Firenze, presso la Fortezza da Basso, dal 20 al 22 giugno è il lancio di The Kid’s Lab, un progetto che occuperà interamente lo spazio del Top Floor del padiglione Centrale riunendo tutte le anime della ricerca di Pitti Bimbo: la sperimentazione di KidzFIZZ, la dimensione atletico-metropolitana di #Activelab, l’incubatore di marchi in erba di the Nest, la sostenibilità di EcoEthic e le capsule Mini Me di Kid’s Evolution. Un grande pianeta della ricerca dove ogni sezione potrà esprimere la propria precisa identità, e dove ci saranno una serie di spazi dedicati a mostre, eventi che coinvolgeranno i buyer, la stampa e gli influencer.

PITTI BIMBO LAUNCHES “THE KID’S LAB” Despite a scenario that is not exactly favourable for kidswear, Pitti Bimbo gets ready for its 89th edition with a wide array of new names, including Emporio Armani, along with projects aimed at exalting children’s lifestyle and research.

Brand new to the next edition of Pitti Bimbo to be held in Florence at the Fortezza da Basso from 20 to 22 June is the launching of The Kid’s Lab, a project that will take over the entire Top Floor of the Main Pavilion, while bringing together the different souls of kidswear research: the experimentation of KidzFIZZ, the athletic-metropolitan mood of #Activelab, the Nest’s incubator of aspiring brands, the eco-sustainability of EcoEthic and the Mini Me capsule collections of Kid’s Evolution. A great planet of research where every section will be given the chance to express its very own identity, and where a series of common areas will be dedicated to exhibitions and events, which will involve buyers, the press, and influencers.

GALLERY SHOES: UN APPUNTAMENTO ORMAI CONSOLIDATO E IRRINUNCIABILE Si è conclusa il 12 marzo scorso con la partecipazione di oltre 9.800 visitatori professionali e 550 marchi in mostra, la quarta edizione della manifestazione dedicata alla calzatura organizzata da Igedo Company a Dusseldorf. Prossima edizione dal 1 al 3 settembre 2019, per scoprire le collezioni estive 2020.

Oltre 9.800 visitatori hanno vivacizzato gli spazi dell’ex fabbrica dell’Areal Böhler per il quarto appuntamento con Gallery Shoes e con le collezioni di calzature per l’Inverno 2019/20. La manifestazione appare ormai un momento d’incontro irrinunciabile per gli operatori di area tedesca, che qui trovano un’organizzazione professionale ed efficiente, e una selezione attenta di marchi (circa 550, il 65% dei quali internazionali), suddivisi in modo chiaro e razionale nelle aree Premium, Contemporary, Comfort, Urban e Kids.

Purtroppo a penalizzare in parte la manifestazione è stata la situazione meteo, con una tempesta che si è abbattuta sulla regione del nord del Reno-Westfalia e in gran parte della Germania il pomeriggio del primo giorno e che ha creato serie difficoltà per gli spostamenti e la necessità di mettere in atto misure di sicurezza in fiera. Tuttavia, già la domenica mattina l’affluenza nei padiglioni era buona e il trend positivo è proseguito soprattutto nella giornata di lunedì.

Ulrike Kähler, Managing Director di Igedo Company e Project Director di Gallery Shoes, ha parlato di risultati ‘sani e incoraggianti’, mentre Brigitte Wischnewski, presidente dell’Associazione federale dei rivenditori di calzature tedesche, ha sottolineato come il Salone sia ormai diventato un appuntamento irrinunciabile per gli operatori del settore per raccogliere informazioni sulle nuove tendenze e gli andamenti del mercato, fare ordini e rinfreschi, nonché mantenere vivi i contatti e fare pubbliche relazioni. Proprio l’inquadramento delle proposte in mostra in una cornice più ampia di moda e ultime tendenze è l’aspetto che ha sottolineato Carl-August Seibel, presidente dell’Associazione tedesca dell’industria calzaturiera e della pelletteria, un valore aggiunto sempre più importante.

Per il prossimo futuro, guardando in primis all’edizione del 1 settembre 2019, l’obiettivo è un maggior coinvolgimento dei buyer internazionali che si vuole attuare anche attraverso strategie di marketing sempre più mirate in vari paesi europei, anche in collaborazione con importanti espositori. GALLERY SHOES: AN ESTABLISHED AND FUNDAMENTAL RENDEZVOUS This past 12 March, Gallery Shoes ended with the participation of 9,800 professional visitors and 550 brands on show, for the fourth edition of the event dedicated to footwear, which is organised by the Igedo Company in Dusseldorf.

The next edition will be held from 1 to 3 September 2019, with the unveiling of the summer 2020 collections.

sociation of German Shoe Retailers, underlined how the Exhibition has by now become an obligatory event for shoe retailers in gathering information on new trends and market trends, placing orders, and booking re-orders, while also maintaining their networks and public relations. All the big and important German and Northern European buyers were present at the fair, just like the exhibitors were represented by leading brands of footwear next to experimental and emerging designers. By now, it is clear that the event has brought a breath of fresh air to the international trade fair panorama, thanks to its striking and modern location, open-space stands, the expansion of the Premium zone and the Fashion Lifestyle Corner, with the Marc Cain brand as its protagonist. There were also the Trend Zones, featuring a recap of the season’s trends, and the fashion talks.

It was precisely the layout of the proposals on show in a more extensive fashion setting, along with the latest fashion trends, that have led Carl-August Seibel, President of the German Association of the Footwear and Leather Goods Industry, to believe that this will be the key to providing the show with greater added value.

In the future, and starting from the next edition on 1 September 2018, the aim will be that of involving a greater number of international buyers through marketing strategies increasingly aimed at various European countries, and also in collaboration with important exhibitors.

At the same time, Gallery Shoes is extending its very own portfolio in a dynamic way, looking above all to premium brands, which are increasingly scouted in collaboration with its sister-fair Gallery, to the extent that the number of footwear brands and distribution agencies specialized in accessories and participating in this latter event are on the rise.

More than 9,800 visitors enlivened the spaces of the former factory in the Areal Böhler, for the fourth edition of Gallery Shoes, which featured the collections of footwear for Winter 2019/20. The event is by now an essential meeting place for operators in the German area, who here are able to find a professional and efficient organization and an attentive selection of brands (around 550, of which 65% are international), divided in a clear and rational way between the Premium, Contemporary, Comfort, Urban and Kids areas.

Unfortunately stormy weather conditions affecting the northern region of Reno-Westfalia and most of Germany the afternoon of the first day of the event created a series of difficulties concerning transportation to the fair, with the need to adapt security measures at the fair. Nevertheless, already on Sunday morning, there was a good turnout in the pavilions and the positive trend continued above all throughout the day of Monday.

Un ottimo punto di partenza, con buone prospettive di crescita e di sviluppo: queste, in sintesi, le impressioni sul debutto di ShoesRoom by Momad, la manifestazione dedicata al settore calzaturiero, che si è svolta dal 1 al 3 marzo scorso presso La Nave di Madrid, ex fabbrica di ascensori riconvertita in suggestiva location fieristica, a sud-ovest della città, nel quartiere Villaverde, in una zona facilmente raggiungibile anche con la nuova linea del metro 3.

Per questa prima edizione si sono dati appuntamento 85 marchi di qualità, che hanno presentato al pubblico professionale le novità per l’Autunno Inverno 2019/20 e i rinfreschi di stagione, espressione del meglio della calzatura ‘Made in Spain’. Tra questi ricordiamo nomi del calibro di Callaghan, Pons Quintana, Pertini, Exe, Chie Mihara, Meraviglie, Mustang, Unisa, Gioseppo, Jaime Mascaro, Luis Onofre, Sison, Hollies, Igor, Alma Candela, Gaimo, Kelme, Victoria, Vidorreta, United Nude, Pepe Milano, Arche, Aerobica, Nerogiardini e molti altri.

The new event organised by IFEMA in collaboration with FICE this past 1 to 3 March, attracted more than 2,700 industry professionals, who were given the opportunity to learn more about Spanish and international quality footwear in the striking ex-industrial complex of La Nave in Madrid.

An excellent start, with good opportunities for growth and development: this, in brief, is the impression of the debut of ShoesRoom by Momad, the event dedicated to the footwear industry, which was held this past 1 to 3 March at Madrid’s La Nave. This former factory of elevators was in fact reconverted into a striking trade fair complex, located just to the south-west of the city in the Villaverde neighbourhood, a well-connected area that is also easy to reach by the new Metro Line 3.

For this first edition, 85 quality brands presented their latest Autumn-Winter 2019/20 proposals and Spring-Summer 2019 re-stockings to a professional public, as the best expression of ‘Made in Spain’ footwear. Among them were brands of the calibre

of Callaghan, Pons Quintana, Pertini, Exe, Chie Mihara, Meraviglie, Mustang, Unisa, Gioseppo, Jaime Mascaro, Luis Onofre, Sison, Hollies, Igor, Alma Candela, Gaimo, Kelme, Victoria, Vidorreta, United Nude, Pepe Milano, Arche, Aerobica, Nerogiardini and many others.

The decision made by the organisers – IFEMA in collaboration with FICE and ICEX for the invitations extended to foreign buyers – was to completely revolutionise the concept of the former Parque Ferial, proposing La Nave as the more intimate and trendy venue, capable of cancelling out the dispersive and anonymous feeling of the fair’s previous venue. The proposal of just one pavilion and of the homogeneous and modular stands with only 3 available sizes, gave visitors the possibility to see the essentials of the autumn-winter collections in just a short amount of time and in a practical and pleasurable way.

“We managed to convince the sector to support this new event, by involving not only the companies that participated, but also the visitors and those who have already confirmed their intentions to take part in the next edition. – declared with satisfaction Charo Izquierdo, director of ShoesRoom by Momad - This however is just the start. – she continued – I believe that this fair model has all the potential for growth and development in the near future, but to achieve this we must continue to work for its promotion, so that it becomes the most important footwear event in Spain”.

As far as the programme of international buyers is concerned, it involved 49 representatives of large distribution chains and wholesalers coming from Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Peru, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, South Korea, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait and Lebanon.

Among the side events can underline the Innovation Awards, which saw Mikonos of Logroño win in the ‘Retail’ Category; Excelsus as the winner in the ‘Fashion’ Category; Gioseppo taking the prize in ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’; while the award for ‘Innovation in Technology’ was granted to Callaghan and the ‘Career’ award went to Unisa.

Now, all that’s left to do is to get ready for the next edition to be held from 20 to 22 September 2019, when the event will be fully operational, with the presentation of the previews for Summer 2020.

Tra gli eventi collaterali da segnalare ricordiamo il Premio per l’Innovazione, che ha visto protagonisti per la categoria ‘Retail’ l’azienda Mikonos di Logroño; per la Moda, Excelsus, per la ‘Responsabilità Sociale’ Gioseppo, mentre il premio per l’ ‘Innovazione nella Tecnologia’ è stato assegnato a Callaghan e quello alla ‘Carriera’ a Unisa.

Ora non resta che guardare alla prossima edizione, in calendario dal 20 al 22 settembre 2019, quando la manifestazione entrerà a pieno regime e saranno presentate le anteprime per l’Estate 2020.

A Mosca, dal 19 al 22 marzo

OBUV COL FRENO TIRATO Obuv chiude una stagione ancora non esaltante per il made in Italy calzaturiero in Russia, confermando le basse attese della vigilia.

Non ci si aspettavano grossi risultati da Obuv e così è stato: la fiera moscovita della calzatura chiude con un consuntivo in tenuta nei numeri, ma con il freno tirato dal punto di vista commerciale. “Obuv non ci ha riservato sorprese – commenta Arturo Venanzi, consigliere Assocalzaturifici con delega area Russia – non ci aspettavamo una fiera più di tanto dinamica e così è stata. Si tratta comunque di un importante presidio del mercato russo, quello che chiude ufficialmente una stagione di vendite che inizia a Micam, per alcuni addirittura ad Expo Riva Schuh. L’afflusso di buyer si è attestato sugli stessi numeri delle scorse stagioni e quanto agli ordinativi si sono visti volumi d’acquisto minori”.

Ma quali sono le ragioni che ancora frenano i commercianti?

“La lista è lunga – prosegue Arturo Venanzi - dalla dogana alla psicosi per l’etichettatura obbligatoria che dovrebbe entrare in fase di prova da luglio e in vigore a febbraio. Poi non ha aiutato neppure l’inverno che non è stato particolarmente freddo, se non nella stagione dei saldi. C’è poi la crescita degli e-commerce che sta portando via molte vendite ai commercianti. E il “fenomeno sneaker” che da occidente ha dilagato ad oriente, non aiutando il prodotto made in Italy”.

Anche se quello russo è un mercato in crisi, resta pur sempre la sesta destinazione del made in Italy - nei primi undici mesi del 2018, l’export italiano in Russia è arrivato a 5,2 milioni di paia, per un valore di 316 milioni di euro, -11,5% rispetto allo stesso periodo del 2017 - e quindi una piazza sulla quale le imprese italiane continuano ad investire. Obuv per loro è un momento imprescindibile di incontro coi partner di ogni regione della Russia e dei paesi della CIS: 130 aziende italiane su un totale di

200 aziende provenienti da 13 diverse nazionalità hanno preso parte all’evento incontrando circa 12mila visitatori, numeri sullo stesso livello rispetto alle precedenti edizioni.

Ad affiancare l’attività delle aziende italiane, l’azione di ICE Agenzia che ha predisposto incoming di buyer dalle diverse regioni russe e ha proseguito la mappatura del retail delle 12 principali città del paese. Una occasione importante di networking in fiera è stata anche l’organizzazione di un light lunch, un momento di aggregazione tra aziende e buyer russi.

In Moscow, from 19 to 22 March

OBUV AT A STANDSTILL The latest edition of Obuv comes to an end with unexciting results for Made in Italy footwear in the Russian markets, thus reconfirming the negative forecasts made on the eve of the event.

Expectations for Obuv were not high and this was reflected in the results of the latest edition: the Moscow exhibition of shoes ended with a turnout that held steady in numbers, but which was at a complete standstill in terms of business. “Obuv held no surprises for us – commented Arturo Venanzi, Assocalzaturifici councillor in charge of the Russian area – We were not expecting a dynamic edition of the event and this is exactly what was confirmed. In any case, it’s an important tool for presiding over the Russian market, while officially ending the season for business that first began in Micam, and for some even at Expo Riva Schuh. Buyer numbers more or less coincided with the turnout of the last few seasons, while the number of orders booked was inferior”.

What are the reasons behind this standstill in business? “The list is long – continues Arturo Venanzi – from customs to the uncertainty surrounding obligatory country of origin labels that should go through a trial period in July to then become effective in February. The particularly mild winter season was not exactly helpful either, except during the period of sales. There was then the rise in e-commerce that is stealing a lot of business away from retailers. And the ‘sneaker phenomenon’ that has taken over from west to east, to the detriment of the Made in Italy product”.

Even if Russia is a market in crisis, it is always the sixth destination for Made in Italy - during the first eleven months of 2018, Italian exports to Russia arrived at 5.2 million pairs, for a value

of 316 million euros, down -11.5% compared to the same period in 2017. Thus, it remains a market in which Italian companies continue to invest. For them, Obuv is an essential rendezvous for meeting up with partners from every region of Russia and the neighbouring CSI area: 130 Italian businesses out of a total of 200 exhibitors coming from 13 different nations took part in the event, meeting up with around 12 thousand visitors, with numbers more or less on the same level as the last few editions.

Providing support to the Italian businesses was the ICE Agency, which organised a series of incoming services to attract buyers from the different regions in Russia, followed by a retail mapping of the area’s 12 biggest cities. Another important opportunity for networking at the fair was represented by the organisation of a light lunch, which allowed for moments of socialisation between businesses and Russian buyers.

We met up with some historic Obuv exhibitors to ask them what they thought of the results of this past edition. Here is what they told us…

“Abbiamo registrato un leggero calo rispetto alle scorse edizioni – commenta Giovanni Fabiani, titolare dell’omonimo brand – a pesare sull’andamento è la situazione di mercato, che oggi è saturo, ma anche il clima di incertezza conseguente la prossima introduzione delle nuove normative doganali. Il risultato è stato un certo attendismo da parte dei clienti russi.

Differente, invece, la situazione con i mercati confinanti con la Russia, che invece si sono dimostrati più performanti: il Kazakistan e soprattutto l’Ucraina, che sta uscendo dalla crisi ed è decisamente in aumento”.

“We recorded a slight drop compared to previous editions – commented Giovanni Fabiani, owner of the self-named brand – Affecting the outcome was the current situation in the market, which today is overflowing with products, but also the climate of uncertainty surrounding the soon to be introduced new customs regulations. The result was a kind of waiting game played by Russian customers. Instead, the situation with Russia’s neighbouring countries was different and characterised by a better performance: this was true of Kazakhstan and especially Ukraine, which is on the road to recovery with a clear upward trend”.

“In vent’anni di Obuv ne abbiamo viste e sentite di tutte... – commenta Loredano Corvaro, responsabile commerciale estero di Vittorio Virgili - Ci siamo preparati all’ultima edizione senza grandi aspettative: sapevamo che non sarebbe stata un’edizione risolutiva, visto l’andamento di Micam. E infatti c’è stata una minore affluenza e abbiamo incontrato pochi clienti, tutti con i soliti problemi… d’altronde il sell out è in calo ovunque e in Russia non fa differenza. L’Obuv delle ultime stagioni è una tipologia di fiera dove si lavora sui clienti già acquisiti, non si fanno nuovi contatti. Essendo una fiera di fine stagione, restano solo i clienti minori”.

“After twenty years of participation in Obuv, we have seen it and heard it all… – commented Loredano Corvaro, head of foreign sales for Vittorio Virgili – Our expectations in preparing for the last edition were not so high: we knew that it was not going to be the most productive edition, also in light of the results of Micam. In fact, there was a drop in turnout and we met up with only a few customers, who all had the usual problems… from the other end, sales trends are down everywhere and in Russia it makes no difference. Over the last few seasons, Obuv has become the kind of fair where business is done with already existing customers and new contacts are not made. Since it is a fair that wraps up the season, only smaller-scale customers participate”.

“L’ultima edizione di Obuv è stata strana – dichiara Roberta Menatta, responsabile per il mercato russo di Fabi – prima della partenza non ci aspettavamo un grande risultato, ma alla fine siamo riusciti a chiudere al di sopra delle aspettative. I nostri clienti tradizionali hanno piazzato i loro ordini ma con quantitativi minori rispetto al passato, però abbiamo compensato con il rientro di vecchi clienti che non vedevamo da qualche stagione. Quindi, tirate le somme, siamo soddisfatti di quello che abbiamo portato a casa. Certo siamo lontanissimi dai risultati delle stagioni pre-crisi, ma per quello che è il mercato oggi, è andata bene”.

“The last edition of Obuv was strange – declared Roberta Menatta, head of the Russian market for Fabi – before it started, we were not expecting great results, but in the end, we managed to end the fair with results that went beyond our expectations. Our traditional customers placed their orders, even if they were for smaller quantities than in the past.

This, however, was compensated for by the re-entry of old customers, who we had not seen for the last few seasons. So, altogether, we are satisfied with the business done. Certainly, we are still quite far from the results we used to achieve prior to the crisis, but considering how the market is today, things went quite well”.

IL TOTAL LOOK MADE IN ITALY NELL’AREA RUSSA Il made in Italy ad Almaty incontra più difficoltà che a Kiev, piazza in trend di ripresa.

Ecco come sono andati gli eventi di La Moda Italiana@Almaty e La Moda Italiana@Kiev.

Due mercati differenti, uno ancora in crisi, l’altro in fase di ripresa, hanno segnato in modo diverso l’andamento dei due appuntamenti chiave per la calzatura in Kazakistan e Ucraina: La moda Italiana@Almaty (5-7 marzo) e La Moda Italiana@Kiev (11 e 12 marzo). “Il mercato ucraino ha mostrato una buona risposta all’offerta italiana e in particolare all’alto di gamma.– dichiara Arturo Venanzi, consigliere Assocalzaturifici per l’area Russa – In generale ha riflesso il clima di ripresa economica dell’Ucraina, mentre in Kazakistan abbiamo registrato ancora una certa sofferenza. Permangono problemi dovuti all’incertezza politico-economica, alla svalutazione monetaria e la maggiore difficoltà di accesso al credito. Tuttavia, a controbilanciare questo trend, c’è stata una vivace partecipazione dalle nazioni centro-asiatiche confinanti e in particolare dall’Uzbekistan”.

Più anticipati rispetto al passato sul calendario fieristico russo, per andare incontro alle esigenze del comparto moda-abbigliamento, i due eventi hanno per la prima volta messo in campo una offerta total look grazie alla collaborazione messa in campo tra Assocalzaturifici e EMI-Ente Moda Italia.

Una sinergia quella tra calzature, pelletteria e abbigliamento che, alla sua prima prova, sembra essere stata apprezzata: “sia ad Almaty che Kiev c’è stato interesse per l’offerta congiunta di calzature e abbigliamento. – commenta Arturo Venanzi, - quanto a sta-

bilire come questa sinergia si sia riflessa nella campagna vendite è ancora presto per dirlo. Diciamo che, come prima volta, siamo soddisfatti”.

Ad Almaty 25 aziende calzaturiere e pellettiere sono state affiancate da due di abbigliamento, e hanno incontrato oltre 200 buyer provenienti dal Kazakistan, Uzbekistan, Tagikistan, Kirghisistan… presso la sede del Dom Priemov della capitale economica kazaka.

La location di Kiev, invece, è stata l’Hotel Hyatt Regency dove una quarantina di aziende calzaturiere e pellettiere, assieme ad una mezza dozzina di abbigliamento, si sono confrontate con i buyer locali, circa 150 operatori.

Importante come sempre la collaborazione di ICE Agenzia agli eventi, che ha sostenuto l’attività delle aziende italiane con la predisposizione di incoming di buyer e mailing diretti.

THE MADE IN ITALY TOTAL LOOK ARRIVES IN RUSSIA AND ITS SURROUNDING TERRITORY Made in Italy met up with greater difficulty at Almaty than in Kiev, which is currently on the road to recovery. This is how the La Moda Italiana@Almaty and La Moda Italiana@Kiev fairs did in these two markets.

Two different markets, one that is still in the midst of an economic crisis, and the other on the road to recovery, resulted in two very different outcomes for the two key events dedicated to footwear in Kazakhstan and Ukraine: La Moda Italiana@Almaty (5-7 March) and La Moda Italiana@Kiev (11 and 12 March).

“The Ukrainian market’s reaction to the Italian offering and especially the high-end range was positive. – declared Arturo Venanzi, Assocalzaturifici councillor for the Russian area – Generally speaking, it reflected the climate of economic recovery in Ukraine, while in Kazakhstan, we once again recorded a certain amount of difficulty. There is a continuation of the problems resulting from the political-economic uncertainty, the devaluation of the currency, and the greater difficulty in gaining access to credit.

Nevertheless, balancing out this trend was dynamic participation from the neighbouring Central Asian nations and especially from Uzbekistan”.

Scheduled earlier on the Russian trade fair calendar than in the past, in order to meet the needs of the fashion-clothing segment, for the first time, the two events offered a total look proposal also thanks to the collaboration cemented between Assocalzaturifici and EMI-Ente Moda Italia. A synergy between footwear, leather goods, and apparel, which, in its first trial run, seems to have been appreciated: “Both in Almaty and at Kiev there was interest expressed in the joint offering of footwear and clothing. - commented Arturo Venanzi, - It’s too soon to say just how much of this synergy can be attributed to the sales campaign. You could say that as a first attempt we are satisfied”.

At Almaty, 25 footwear and leather goods businesses were joined by two apparel companies, which met up with over 200 buyers coming from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kirghizstan… at the Dom Priemov conference centre in the Kazakh capital.

The Hotel Hyatt Regency in Kiev was instead the venue where around forty footwear and leather goods companies, together with half a dozen manufacturers of apparel, met up with local buyers, for a total of 150 operators.

Important as ever was the collaboration with the ICE Agency at the events, which supported the activities of Italian businesses by organising incoming delegations of buyers and direct mailings.

MOSSHOES FORMULA DI SUCCESSO La fiera moscovita chiude con il +3,75% di visitatori provenienti da ogni regione della Russia e paesi della CIS, che hanno promosso la selezione di circa 700 marchi.

In un mercato ancora segnato dalla crisi valutaria e dagli effetti delle sanzioni occidentali, Mosshoes è riuscita a garantire, grazie alla sua originale formula, una edizione tutto sommato vivace. Lo show si è svolto dall’12 al 15 marzo a Mosca, presso i padiglioni 17 e 18 del Crocus Expo, e ha presentato a buyer, retailer, grossisti e distributori provenienti da Russia e paesi gravitanti attorno ad essa, una selezione completa di prodotti che va dalla scarpa uomo-donna e bambino, alla borsa, dalla pelle, ai componenti e accessori, e alla tecnologia.

Un’originale piattaforma B2B dove capita che le 400 aziende in fiera facciano affari con i visitatori, ma anche tra di loro.

Mosshoes ha messo in campo anche una serie di servizi per il settore, dalle aree di tendenza dedicate alla moda scarpa e accessori, a quella per la borsa nell’area di Mospel, e una conference hall per seminari su temi caldi del settore che è diventata una vera e propria piattaforma per creare sinergie e fare networking.

Quali siano stati i trend in atto nel mercato durante la manifestazione, lo svelano alcuni degli espositori da noi intervistati in fiera. Presente da oltre una quindicina d’anni a Mosshoes, Imac dichiara di avere “un ottimo riscontro alle nostre proposte, sia da parte della clientela russa che degli altri paesi della CIS, e in quanto ai canali, c’è molta attenzione da parte dell’e-commerce.

– commenta la rappresentante dell’azienda - L’unica difficoltà riguarda il prezzo che, comparativamente con il prodotto cinese, è troppo altro. Ma i nostri clienti sono contenti di pagare un

po’ di più per la qualità e il confort del Made in Italy”. Per Marco Tozzi, marchio della nutrita collettiva tedesca, “il mercato russo è molto importante: - dichiara Eldar Schaffner, sales manager per l’Europa dell’Est dell’azienda - da dieci anni siamo presenti in fiera, ma oggi è più difficile lavorare rispetto al passato per il segmento medio di prezzo. Ci affidiamo ai nostri clienti storici e ad una nuova campagna di immagine che presentiamo in fiera e ha come testimonial Ksenya Borodina, conduttrice di un famoso show televisivo russo”. Di fascia di prezzo ancora più alta è il prodotto dell’inglese Barker: “Siamo presenti sul mercato russo con 6 punti vendita tra diretti e in franchising. I nostri clienti sono l’élite russa, attori, politici, dirigenti… - afferma Rai Vinay, chief rapresentative dell’azienda - Partecipiamo a Mosshoes da almeno 20 anni e lo riteniamo un ottimo canale per incontrare tutta l’Europa dell’Est”. Sportmaster è il distributore russo di brand come Skechers, Fila, Cat, anche lui lamenta che “stiamo assistendo ad una vera dicotomia del mercato, tra ricerca di prezzo e lusso. Il nostro prezzo però risulta interessante per i retailer che frequentano la fiera”. Produttore di calzature da bambino russo, Shagovita a Mosshoes veicola il 40% del suo giro d’affari: “qui abbiamo l’occasione di incontrare i buyer, distributori, grossi ed e-tailer del mercato russofono – afferma Maria Socoliuk - ma quel che è più importante è che a Mosshoes possiamo osservare le tendenze in atto sul mercato e quindi adeguare la nostra strategia commerciale”.

La prossima edizione di Mosshoes si terrà dal 10 al 13 settembre.

MOSSHOES, A FORMULA FOR SUCCESS The Moscow fair ends with a +3.75% rise in visitors coming from every part of Russia and the neighbouring CSI region, who came to browse the selection of around 700 brands.

In a market still penalised by a persisting financial crisis and by the effects of Western sanctions, Mosshoes managed to guarantee, thanks to its original formula, an all-in-all dynamic edition. The show was held from 12 to 15 March in Moscow, in Halls 17 and 18 of the Crocus Expo, presenting buyers, retailers, wholesalers, and distributors coming from Russia and its surrounding countries, with a complete selection of products that ranged from men’s, women’s, and children’s shoes, to bags, leathers, components, accessories, and technology. An original B2B platform, where the 400 exhibiting companies at the fair were able to do business not only with visitors, but also with each other.

Mosshoes also made a series of sector services available, from the trend areas dedicated to fashion shoes and accessories, to the Mospel area dedicated to bags, along with a conference hall for holding seminars on the most relevant sector issues, representing a bona fide platform for interaction and networking.

During the fair, we asked some of the exhibitors to describe the most important on-going trends in the market and they answered us as follows. Present for more than 15 years at Mosshoes, at the fair Imac met up with “extremely positive feedback to our proposals, from both Russian clientele and other CSI countries, and as far as sales channels are concerned, there was a strong orientation towards e-commerce. – commented the representative of the company – The only difficulty regards pricing, which, when compared with the Chinese product, is too high. However, our custom-

ers are happy to spend a little more for the quality and comfort of Made in Italy”. For Marco Tozzi, the brand belonging to the large German collective of Wortmann, “The Russian market is very important. - declares Eldar Schaffner, Eastern European sales manager – We have been present at the fair for ten years, but today it is more difficult to work in the mid-range segment of prices than it was in the past. We rely on our historic customers and are counting on the new image campaign we presented at the fair, with Ksenya Borodina, the hostess of a famous TV show in Russia, as our new celebrity endorser”. Representing an even higher pricing segment is the English brand Barker: “We are present on the Russian market with 6 stores that are divided up between directly owned and franchises. Our customers are the Russian elite, actors, politicians, managers… - confirms Rai Vinay, chief representative of the company - We have been participating in Mosshoes for almost 20 years now, and we believe it is an excellent channel for meeting up with all of Eastern Europe”. The representative of Sportmaster, the Russian distributor of brands like Skechers, Fila, and Cat, instead complains of how “we are witnessing a genuine division of the market between those searching for a low price and those searching for luxury products. Our price, however, is in any case of interest to retailers attending the fair”. At Mosshoes, the Russian producer of children’s footwear, Shagovita, generates 40% of its sales revenue: “Here, we have the opportunity to meet up with buyers, distributers, wholesalers, and e-tailers from the Russian-speaking market – comments Maria Socoliuk – but what is most important is that at Mosshoes, we can observe on-going trends in the market and accordingly adjust our sales strategy”.

The next edition of Mosshoes will take place from 10 to 13 September.

Abbiamo intervistato in fiera Vladimir Krupochkin, development director di Mosshoes, che ci ha spiegato gli asset che rendono la manifestazione un evento di successo anche nelle turbolente acque del mercato russo.

Qual è il tratto distintivo di Mosshoes?

“Riunire in una unica location il mondo della produzione e quello dei loro clienti: spesso mi ritrovo a consigliare ai nostri espositori di venire in fiera non solo con il direttore alle vendite, ma anche con quello degli acquisti”.

La sinergia tra i diversi settori paga?

“Sicuramente. A Mosshoes convivono l’esposizione di calzature, quella dedicata alla calzatura bambino, che è la più grande in Russa. Ma anche la pelle ed i componenti e la borsa con la pelletteria, l’area di Mospel che è entrata nella selezione della mostra solo quattro anni fa e che alla prossima edizione, grazie ad una intesa siglata con l’associazione cinese CCCLA, porterà in fiera una collettiva di aziende cinesi. E’ questa strategia di puntare su una selezione completa, sulla qualità dell’offerta più che sulla quantità, che si è rivelata premiante e ha fatto lievitare visitatori ed espositori della manifestazione”.

Insomma non state fermi davanti alla crisi…

“Infatti, preferiamo reagire e affidarci ad un atteggiamento propositivo. E lo si può vedere girando per la fiera: abbiamo allestito un’area trend dove si possono ammirare le tendenze moda-calzatura e accessori per la prossima stagione. C’è poi l’area trend dedicata alla borsa, abbiamo anche una selezione di aziende di logistica che espongono… Abbiamo una conference hall dove gli stakeholder del settore possono confrontarsi e attuare sinergie... Puntiamo ad offrire delle novità: più che sui numeri, guardiamo alla qualità della proposta”. È’ questo che vi differenzia dalle altre manifestazioni…

“Non vogliamo fare come le altre fiere che puntano solo sulla crescita degli espositori e poi finiscono per disperdere le opportunità. Noi vogliamo creare un marketplace a misura delle nostre aziende e non il contrario”.

At the fair, we interviewed Vladimir Krupochkin, Development Director of Mosshoes, who explained how the exhibition’s assets make the event a success even in the uncertain waters of the Russian market.

What is the defining trait of Mosshoes?

“Bringing together, in just one location, the world of production and that of customers: I often find myself advising our exhibitors to come to the fair not only with their sales directors, but also with their head purchasers”.

Is the synergy between the different sectors worthwhile?

“Most definitely. At Mosshoes, alongside the general exposition of footwear is also the footwear segment dedicated to children, representing the largest selection in all of Russia. At the same time, there is the offering of leathers and components, and bags as well as leather goods in the Mospel area that just joined the fair’s selection four years ago, and which will bring a collective of Chinese business to the fair at the next edition, thanks to an agreement signed with the Association CCCLA. This strategy of offering a complete selection, with a focus on quality over quantity, has proven itself to be a winning choice, leading to a rise in visitor and exhibitor numbers at the fair”.

The fair shows no signs of slowing down, even when faced with the current financial crisis…

“In fact, we prefer to react and be proactive in our approach. It is possible to see this by walking around the fair: we have set up a trend area where it is possible to admire the fashion-footwear and accessory trends for the next season. There is then the trend area dedicated to bags and we also have a selection of logistics companies exhibiting… We have a conference hall, where all the sector’s stakeholders can interact with one another and network…

Our focus is on offering the latest innovations: more than numbers, we believe in a quality proposal”.

And this is what makes you stand out from other events….

“We do not want to be like other fairs that focus only on increasing their exhibitor numbers and then end up losing out on opportunities. We are interested in creating a made-to-measure marketplace for our companies and not the opposite”.

FASHION ACCESS “FEEL GREEN” In concomitanza con APLF, fiera per l’industria della pelle e moda, dal 13 al 15 marzo Fashion Access è tornata protagonista con la sua selezione di accessori moda e lifestyle sempre più “green” rivolta ai dettaglianti e ai brand in cerca di partner produttivi e per il design.

Sempre più calzatura ma anche borse, piccola pelletteria, valigeria e articoli da viaggio, abbigliamento in pelle… e l’offerta concomitante di Cashmere World che completa la selezione di prodotti moda Fashion Access ha messo a confronto al first floor dell’Hong Kong Exhibition Center la selezione di 230 aziende provenienti da 17 pa-

esi, con oltre 8.000 visitatori di 77 diverse nazionalità. Un pubblico composto da agenti, uffici acquisto, department store, distributori, importatori, private labels, rappresentanti di fashion brand, retailer e boutique, grossisti.

A segnare questa edizione, è stato il generale innalzamento qualitativo dell’offerta con una presenza di brand di

media-alta gamma e designer brands che hanno esposto nella sezione Brand Avenue and

Design Street. L’altro grande tema del salone è stato quello della sostenibilità: trasversale agli show di APLF e dibattuto in diversi seminari, si è tradotto in Fashion Access nell’incoraggiamento “Feel Green”, label sotto il quale hanno trovato spazio prodotti e progetti più consapevoli nei confronti dell’ambiente.

La prossima edizione di Fashion Access tornerà dal 31 marzo al 2 aprile 2020 per una edizione in cui si approfondirà il tema della sostenibilità.

FASHION ACCESS “FEEL GREEN” In conjunction with APLF, the fair for the leather and fashion industry, from 13 to 15 March, Fashion Access returned as the protagonist with an increasingly “green” selection of fashion accessories and lifestyle products aimed at retailers and brands in search of productive and design partners Not only an increasing number of shoes, but also bags, small leather goods, luggage, travel items, and leather garments… along with the proposals of the concomitant Cashmere World completing the selection of fashion products. On the first floor of the Hong Kong Exhibition Center, Fashion Access brought the selection of 230 exhibitors coming from 17 countries together with 8000 visitors coming from 77 different countries.

A public made up by agents, purchasing offices, department stores, distributors, importers, private labels, fashion brand representatives, retailers, boutiques, and wholesalers.

Characterising this edition

was a general uptrend in the quality of the offering with the participation of mid to highend brands and designer labels exhibiting in the Brand Avenue and Design Street section.

The other leading theme of the fair was that of sustainabili-

ty: an across-the-board theme at the shows of APLF that was debated at several seminars.

Fashion Access in fact encouraged its exhibitors to think and “Feel Green”, with the label identifying the most aware products and projects dedicat-

ed to protecting the environment.

The next edition of Fashion Access will return from 31 March to 2 April 2020 for an edition that will provide even more insight into the theme of sustainability.

WHITE MILANO CHIUDE CON +4,8% DI VISITATORI Sostenibilità, nuove aree e un brand mix attento portano ad un consuntivo di 25.256 visitatori, con buyer esteri in crescita del 6,8% e italiani a +1,4% rispetto all’edizione di febbraio 2018.

Una edizione innovativa e dinamica, premiata dai numeri dei visitatori, tra cui si annoverano top buyer esteri del calibro di Printemps e Spree dalla Francia, H.Lorenzo, Elisa B e The Voyager dagli Usa, The Outnet.com e Studio 120 dall’Uk, Andrews dal Canada, Doshaburi dalla Spagna, Tsum dalla Russia e Onward dal Giappone…. e dalla stampa internazionale che ormai ha raggiunto le 1.200 unità.

“La vivacità dimostrata da questo salone è risultato di uno scouting attento di marchi, di nuovi hub espositivi e anche un progetto dall’alto profilo culturale come GIVE A FOK-us – ha dichiarato Massimiliano Bizzi, fondatore di White Milano – Questo lavoro si è visto e si è apprezzato e i feedback dei buyer sono stati molto positivi, tanto da averlo definito come un trade show concreto e che si interpreta bene. Anche il riscontro ottenuto dagli esponenti della politica, intervenuti all’inaugurazione, testimonia il ruolo di White come piattaforma ormai fondamentale della fashion week milanese.

A ogni edizione, rappresentiamo circa 550 aziende che credono nella validità dei nostri progetti”.

In totale 514 brand di cui 172 internazionali hanno presentato le loro collezioni AI201920 di abbigliamento ed accessori, con la scarpa a coprire ormai il 10% dell’offerta, suddivisi nelle quattro aree della mostra: Tortona 27 Superstudio Più, Tortona 31 Opificio, Tortona 35 Hotel Nhow e Tortona 54 ex Ansaldo BASE. C’è stato il debutto di due nuove aree: Knit Lab dedicato alla maglieria d’avanguardia, e Lounge Sphere all’homewear, inteso come espressione di

Loungewear e Lingerie, unita ad una proposta Beauty. È raddoppiato poi il progetto di Showroom Connection nato per collegare le aziende presenti alla manifestazione con le rispettive showroom che, dopo il lancio della scorsa edizione, porta a 10 i suoi partecipanti.

La sostenibilità è invece stata il focus del progetto GIVE A FOK-us, che ha esplorato il rapporto tra moda, natura e società, mettendo in risalto

WHITE MILANO ENDS WITH A +4.8% RISE IN VISITOR NUMBERS Sustainability, new areas, and an attentive brand mix resulted in a turnout of 25,256 visitors, with foreign buyers on the rise by +6.8% and Italians up +1.4% over the February 2018 edition.

An innovative and dynamic edition, rewarded by numerous visitors, including top foreign buyers of the calibre of Printemps and Spree from France, H.Lorenzo, Elisa B and The Voyager from the USA, The Outnet.com and Studio 120 from the UK, Andrews from Canada, Doshaburi from Spain, Tsum from Russia and Onward from Japan…. At the same time, the international press was also numerous with its turnout of 1,200 participants. “The dynamism of this show is the result of an attentive scouting activity, new exhibiting hubs and a project marked by a highly cultural profile, such as GIVE A FOK-us - declared Massimiliano Bizzi, founder of White Milano – This effort has been noticed and valued, with very positive feedback by buyers, who have defined it as a well-targeted tradeshow, which can easily be interpreted. Moreover, the presence of political leaders at the inauguration confirms White’s role as a strategic platform during Milan’s fashion week. With each new edition, we represent approximately 550 businesses, which believe in the power of our projects”.

Accordingly, a total of 514 brands, including 172 international ones, presented their FW 2019-20 collections of clothing and accessories, with shoes by now accounting for 10% of the offering, which is divided up between the four areas of the show: Tortona 27 Superstudio Più, Tortona 31 Opificio, Tortona 35 Hotel Nhow and Tortona 54 ex Ansaldo BASE. Next, was the doubling in size of the Showroom Connection project that was conceived to connect and promote the businesses present at the show with their respective showrooms, which after its debut at the last edition, sees a total of 10 brands involved in the initiative.

Sustainability was instead the focus of the GIVE A FOK-us project, which explored the relationship between fashion, nature, and society, with an emphasis on eco-sustainability, traceability, and a circular economy, thanks to the contribution of artists and innovative projects promoted by Italian textile mills. Among the most innovative assets of White, GIVE A FOK-us was developed in partnership with Confartigianato Imprese and supported by MISE and the ICE Agency, as well as by the Italian Chamber of Fashion Buyers - The Best Shops, and the artistic direction of Matteo Ward.

ASPETTANDO UNA NUOVA SUPER EDIZIONE In calendario con nuove date anticipate, dal 19 al 22 settembre 2019 al Padiglione Visconti di via Tortona a Milano, il Salone di Pitti Immagine dedicato al prêt-à-porter e agli accessori donna di qualità e ricerca ha chiuso l’edizione del febbraio scorso con 5.700 visitatori professionali.

Il progetto di Pitti Immagine dedicato agli accessori e all’abbigliamento donna contemporary si prepara ad una nuova edizione lavorando sulla cultura innovativa di prodotto e combinando in modo calibrato le aziende consolidate con i brand emergenti, i giovani fashion designer italiani con i talenti esteri.

In mostra saranno le nuove collezioni per la Primavera Estate 2020 presentate da oltre un centinaio di marchi, il 40 per cento dei quali stranieri.

La ‘fashion experience’, tornata di recente in via Tortona dove si svolge in concomitanza anche il Salone ‘White’, ha registrato alla scorsa edizione conclusasi il 25 febbraio un’atmosfera molto vivace e positiva, con una crescita nel numero dei compratori del 21% rispetto all’anno precedente. Nel complesso

sono stati 5.700 i visitatori professionali intervenuti all’evento, con una crescita sia sul mercato estero, sia su quello italiano.

I buyer stranieri hanno rappresentato circa il 20% del totale, superando le 1.100 presenze, con un’affluenza particolarmente rilevante da Giappone, Stati Uniti, Cina e, dall’Europa, da Spagna, Francia, Germania e Svizzera.

“Super conferma le sue caratteristiche vincenti – è stato il commento in chiusura di manifestazione di Agostino Poletto, Direttore Generale di Pitti Immagine - e raccoglie gli apprezzamenti dei buyer arrivati a Milano e delle aziende partecipanti. Last edition this past february was attended by more than 5,700 professional visitors.

The project of Pitti Immagine dedicated to women’s contemporary apparel gets ready to launch a new edition by focusing on innovative product culture and proposing a well-balanced mix of established firms and emerging brands, together with young Italian fashion designers and international creative talents. On show, will be the collections for Spring Summer 2020 presented by more than one hundred brands, of which 40 percent will be foreign.

At the last edition, just wrapped up this past 25 February, the ‘fashion experience’, which recently returned in via Tortona where it is held in conjunction with the ‘White’ exhibition, recorded an extremely dynamic and positive atmosphere, with buyers numbers up by 21% over the previous year. Overall, 5,700 professional visitors attended the event, with a rise in both foreign and Italian numbers. Foreign buyers represented around 20% of the total, exceeding the 1100 mark, with especially strong performances by buyers from Japan, the United States, and China; and from Europe, Spain, France, Germany, and Switzerland.

“Super confirmed its winning characteristics – was the comment of Agostino Poletto, General Manager of Pitti Immagine, at the end of the event - and received great appreciation from the buyers who came to Milan and the participating companies. nia, and the special participation of Stand, among the most acclaimed emerging brands in Scandinavian fashion. Questo conferma come la manifestazione rivana

giochi un ruolo fondamentale nella strategia di vendita delle aziende calzaturiere spagnole orientate all’export, in quanto primo momento d’incontro di respiro internazionale con gli attori del settore, fondamentale per presentare le nuove collezioni primavera-estate 2020 e i rinfreschi invernali, ricevere i primi feed-back dai compratori per mettere a punto le collezioni definitive e raccogliere e pianificare gli ordini.

L’altra novità è Agavina, un tessuto non tessuto ricavato dalle fibre organiche

dell’agave, pianta officinale utilizzata anche per la preparazione della tequila. Per la sua produzione si utilizzano gli scarti della pianta: il riutilizzo e la reimmissione nel ciclo produttivo sancisce l’impegno per la sostenibilità e l’economia circolare del Gruppo Serafini, con l’obiettivo di sostituire l’intera produzione di fibre in poliestere con fibre ottenute da scarti organici.

For its production, plant residuals are used: the reuse and re-introduction in the productive cycle allows the Serafini Group to reconfirm its commitment to sustainability and a circular economy.

The brand’s mission is to eventually substitute all of its polyester fibre production with fibre obtained from organic waste.
