‘8 by Yoox’: è questo il nome della prima linea di abbigliamento e accessori creata dal gigante online di vendite di moda nato nel 1999 e guidato da Federico Marchetti, CEO di Yoox Net-A-Porter (YNAP). Il nome gioca con la vicinanza visiva tra il numero otto e il simbolo dell’infinito, mentre le lettere ‘x’ e ‘y’ di Yoox rimandano al codice binario dei cromosomi maschili e femminili. A caratterizzare 8 by Yoox è una serie di capi essenziali e funzionali, ideati dall’interazione tra creatività umana e intelligenza artificiale, per dar vita al guardaroba ideale. I dati raccolti da un software di ultima tecnologia elaborato in esclusiva dallo stesso portale sono, infatti, incrociati con gli indicatori dei trend di acquisto futuri e con i feedback ricevuti dalla clientela, e poi rielaborati da un team creativo interno. Il risultato sono una serie di capi dalla vestibilità morbida e adatta ad ogni fisicità, realizzati con materiali morbidi e confortevoli e in una palette cromatica neutra, illuminata da incursioni di colore legate alla stagionalità.

Il tutto a prezzi assolutamente accessibili al grande pubblico (si parla di circa 79 euro per un paio di scarpe). Il lancio della prima collezione del nuovo brand è avvenuto lo scorso 6 novembre con l’A/I 2018-19, forte anche dei risultati raggiunti dagli altri due label del gruppo YNAP (MR. P disponibile sul portale MR. Porter e Iris & Ink disponibile su The Outnet).

Il brand creato da Salar Bicheranloo e Francesca Monaco nel 2010, e conosciuto per le sue borse di design realizzate con materiali e processi produttivi atipici per la pelletteria, ha deciso di ampliare la propria offerta includendo anche le calzature. La prima collezione di calzature Salar Milano, completamente Made in Italy e realizzate nelle Marche, si compone di tre modelli in diverse varianti: con il tacco che riprende l’iconica borchia Salar, con la forma studiata per adattarsi alla conformazione morfologica del piede e un modello con tacco a D e catene. La preview è stata lanciata lo scorso dicembre nel nuovissimo monomarca di Shanghai, oltre che in Rinascente Duomo e da Bloomingdale’s a Los Angeles, cui è poi seguita la distribuzione nei 130 negozi multimarca nel mondo in cui il brand è presente. Si tratta di un primo passo di un importante programma di sviluppo, che punta oltre che sull’ampliamento dell’offerta merceologica, anche su una maggiore presenza distributiva. Al primo monomarca aperto a Shanghai lo scorso dicembre, seguiranno infatti entro il primo semestre 2019 altri 3 punti vendita nel paese, che affiancheranno la presenza del brand su alcune delle principali piattaforme di vendita online cinesi come Tmall. La Cina rappresenta, infatti, il mercato di riferimento per il brand (40%), seguito da Italia, Inghilterra, Usa e sempre di più Emirati Arabi. Nel 2017, Salar Milano ha registrato un fatturato di 2 milioni di euro, in crescita del 15% nel 2018, con una presenza in 20 Paesi nel mondo.

salar Milano: noT only bags, buT now also shoes The brand created by Salar Bicheranloo and Francesca Monaco in 2010, which is known for its designer bags created using atypical materials and productive processes for leather goods, has decided to extend its offering to include also footwear. The first collection of Salar Milano footwear, which is completely Made in Italy and produced in the Marches region, is made up by three models in different versions: with a heel that highlights the iconic Salar stud, with the shape designed to adapt itself to the morphologic conformation of the foot, and a model with a D-shaped heel and chains. The preview was launched last December in the brand new flagship store of Shanghai, as well as at the Rinascente Duomo and Bloomingdale’s in Los Angeles. It was then distributed to the 130 international multibrand stores, where the brand can be found. It’s a first step forward in an important program of development, which is focused on not only offering a greater number of products, but also increasing the brand’s presence in distribution. The first flagship store opened in Shanghai this past December will be joined by three other stores to be opened in China within the first six months of 2019, alongside a presence on some of the main chinese online sales platforms like Tmall. China, in fact, represents a market of reference for the brand (40%), followed by Italy, England, the USA, and increasingly the United Arab Emirates. In 2017, Salar Milano registered a sales revenue of over 2 million euros, up 15% in 2018, with its products present in 20 countries worldwide.

‘8 by Yoox’: this is the name of the first line of apparel and accessories created by the online fashion giant founded in 1999 and headed by Federico Marchetti, CEO of Yoox Net-A-Porter (YNAP). The name plays around with the visual similarity between the number eight and the symbol for infinity, while the letters ‘x’ and ‘y’ in Yoox refer to the binary coding of the male and female chromosomes. 8 by Yook features a series of basic and functional garments, designed from the interaction between human creativity and artificial intelligence, in order to give life to the ideal wardrobe. The data collected using state-of-the-art technology and exclusively elaborated by the same portal is in fact cross referenced with future purchasing trend indicators and with feedback received from clientele, and then re-elaborated by an in-house creative team.

The result is a series of softly cut garments suited to all body types and made using soft and comfortable materials in a neutral chromatic palette, which is lit up by forays into seasonal colours. All this is then proposed at a competitive price to the brand’s public (around 79 euros per pair of shoes). The launching of the first collection of the new brand occurred this past 6 November for the F/W 2018-19 season and was also made possible thanks to the positive results achieved by the other two labels of the YNAP group (MR. P available on the MR. Porter portal and Iris & Ink available on The Outnet).

Lo storico brand fiorentino di calzature presenta la giovane linea Stretch Your Life PE 2019, New Age. Ironica e divertente, 100% Made in Italy, la nuova linea riprende il motto del brand ‘Modelli facili da indossare e perfetti per i look di tutti i giorni’ e lo declina in stili che puntano su leggerezza e colore. In particolare si distingue il nuovo modello Jane, il texano ultra light e colorato, e gli svariati esempi di sandali flat o con fondo in gomma dai ricchi dettagli come grossi fiocchi, intrecci che sembrano abbracci e fantasiose tomaie realizzate con elastici bicolori sovrapposti o arricchite da applicazioni floreali. Stretch Your Life impiega inoltre materie prime innovative di origine vegetale, per un approccio rispettoso dei diritti degli animali e dell’ambiente. Dalla stagione estiva 2016, l’azienda ha aderito al progetto Animal Free Fashion di LAV per una moda responsabile e sostenibile, senza utilizzo di materiali di origine animale.

Il noto brand spagnolo fondato nel 2006 dalle due sorelle María e Uxía Domíngueze continua la sua crescita sul mercato italiano, inaugurando dopo la boutique monomarca a Roma, un Pop-Up Store nella città di Bologna. Il negozio ha aperto in Piazza Maggiore, una delle piazze più suggestive del cuore della città, incorniciato dagli splendidi palazzi storici e artistici, e resterà aperto fino alla fine di gennaio 2019, offrendo una linea completa di abbigliamento, borse, accessori e scarpe donna.

Nei piani di espansione del marchio, che attualmente conta un totale di 264 punti vendita (167 in Spagna e 97 nel resto del mondo), sono previste altre nuove aperture su tutto il territorio italiano.

biMba y lola conTinues To grow in The iTalian MarkeT The well-known Spanish brand founded in 2006 by the two sisters María and Uxía Domíngueze continues to experience growth in the Italian market, and after its flagship store in Rome, it now inaugurates a PopUp Store in Bologna. The store opened up in Piazza Maggiore, one of the most striking squares in the heart of the city, which is surrounded by splendid historical and artistic buildings, and it will remain open until the end of January 2019, offering a complete line of apparel, bags, accessories, and women’s shoes. The brand’s plans for expansion, which currently includes a total of 264 stores (167 in Spain and 97 in the rest of the world), will see other new openings occur throughout the Italian territory.

In particular, the new Jane model stands out, an ultralight colourful Texan boot, alongside various examples of flat sandals or shoes with rubber soles featuring rich details like big bows, combinations that seem to embrace one another, and fantastical uppers made using two-tone layered elastics or that are enriched by floral appliqués. Stretch Your Life also uses innovative raw materials of vegetable origins, for an approach that is respectful of animal rights and the environment. Il brand canadese di piumini e parka di alta gamma ha annunciato il lancio di una proposta total look che includerà anche le calzature, grazie all’acquisizione del produttore canadese Baffin, specializzato in scarpe outdoor e industriali per condizioni climatiche estreme. La nuova linea di calzature Canada Goose si caratterizzerà in particolare per modelli studiati per resistere al freddo intenso e alle condizioni meteorologiche avverse, grazie alla competenza maturata da Baffin fin dal 1979 in questo segmento. “Questo investimento strategico a lungo termine è un primo, importante step del viaggio di Canada Goose nel mondo delle calzature” ha commentato in merito Dani Reiss, Presidente e Ceo di Canada Goose.

Fondata nel 1957 e quotata in Borsa dal 2017, Canada Goose è in fase di espansione grazie all’avvio di una diversificazione dei prodotti e ad un importante progetto retail, che già comprende punti vendita monomarca a Toronto, New York, Boston, Chicago, Calgary, Londra e Tokyo, con l’obiettivo di arrivare a una ventina di boutique nel mondo entro il prossimo anno.

L’azienda calzaturiera veronese, tornata a Micam lo scorso settembre, ha avviato un progetto di shop-in-shop volto a rafforzare la sua presenza in città strategiche italiane. canada goose enTers The world of fooTwear The Canadian brand of high-end down jackets and parkas announced the launching of a total look proposal that will also include footwear, thanks to its acquisition by the Canadian producer Baffin, which is specialised in outdoor and industrial shoes for extreme weather conditions. Thus, the new line of Canada Goose footwear will be characterised in particular by models designed to resist the intense cold and the harshest weather conditions, thanks to the long-time expertise matured by Baffin in this segment that dates back to 1979. “This strategic long-term investment is the first important step in Canada Goose’s journey into the world of footwear”, commented Dani Reiss, President and CEO of Canada Goose.

Founded in 1957 and quoted on the stock market since 2017, Canada Goose is currently going through a phase of expansion, thanks to the diversification of its products and an important retail project, which already includes flagship stores in Toronto, New York, Boston, Chicago, Calgary, London and Tokyo, with the aim of arriving at around twenty boutiques worldwide by the end of next year.

Grande attenzione è infine riservata al comfort, grazie alla costruzione Strobel (sottopiede in feltro) che dona leggerezza, flessibilità e traspirazione, e ai sottopiedi estraibili in lattice con membrana ai carboni attivi e antibatterica. Sul fronte delle novità, il brand propone invece la “Sneaker 8 tessuti” che, in omaggio all’inconica “camicia 8 tessuti” utilizza un mix di 8 tessuti differenti in gradazione di colore sul blu/azzurro che conferiscono un effetto tridimensionale alla calzatura, esaltandone la particolarità. High performance, unique materials, and comfort are among the distinct traits of the men’s footwear collection presented at the last edition of Micam. The high performance of the brand’s products is in fact made possible by the use of natural, technical and innovative materials, and thanks to the adoption of high qualitative standards and EVA (Ethylene - Vinyl Acetate) outsoles. The uniqueness of the collection can instead be found in the high-end stylistic research that is completely in sync with the brand’s apparel in a wide variety of printed materials and colours. Finally, much attention is paid to the aspect of comfort, which is made possible by the lightweight, flexible, and breathable Strobel (felt insole) construction, and the removable latex insoles with active carbon and antibacterial membranes. As far as new products are concerned, the brand instead proposes the “8-Fabric Sneaker”, which in homage to the iconic “8-Fabric Shirt” features a mix of 8 different fabrics in a range of blue/sky blue shades that convey a three-dimensional effect to the footwear, while highlighting its special features. Completing the model is a boxed ultralight EVA sole sewn together with the personalised upper. This footwear represents the most important and significant continuation of the Harmont & Blaine brand created by the Marches company, Giano, which has been the licensee of the brand since 2018.

La risposta è nella storia raccontata da Kinky Boots, il pluripremiato musical di Broadway che ha fatto il suo debutto in Italia, al Teatro Nuovo di Milano, lo scorso novembre. At the 95th edition of the Florentine trade show, the brand coming from the AEFFE group presented the Hiking Sneaker, a new sneaker with a versatile and sophisticated design, symbolizing the ideal equilibrium between urban elegance and a casual attitude. Strictly Made in Italy, it stands out for its unique technical construction and is fitted with a special sole designed in collaboration with Vibram®, worldwide leader in the development and production of high performance rubber soles.

The sneaker comes available in a lace-up version with riveted grommets and in a version with leather fastening, buckle, and metallic eyelets.

Combinations of different materials, plain and drummed calfskin, and crust and buffalo, are highlighted by a chromatic palette that opens up to tones in blue, white, black, brown, and military green. How to transform a failure into a success? Thanks to this collection, Charlie is able to realise his dream of making his debut in Milan at the fair dedicated to footwear. The desire for redemption, the courage to be daring, friendship, and openness to that which is different are just some of the themes that this light-hearted musical and winner of six Tony Awards presents to its viewers.

Dopo l’onore del mantello conferito dalla confraternita dei Santi Crispino e Crispiniano alla Festa del Lavoro dello scorso ottobre, è seguita la nomina a presidente della AEFI- Associazione Esposizioni e Fiere Italiane.

“Sono molto soddisfatto per questa nomina che arriva a coronamento di un lungo percorso all’interno dell’associazione. – dichiara Laezza – Sono stato per 12 anni vice presidente dell’associazione con importanti deleghe, in particolare alla formazione, e sono stato anche responsabile della Commissione Piccole Fiere. Ci ho creduto fino dall’inizio e ho dato tutto il mio impegno”.

Quali saranno i punti sui quali si concentrerà l’attività del neoeletto presidente? “Sicuramente di sedere al tavolo CFI - Comitato Fiere Industria e puntare alla fusione tra le due società – risponde – per creare un unico intelocutore per il settore fieristico italiano. Un obiettivo per il quale ho iniziato a lavorare già da vice presidente e che spero di concludere al più presto”.

Contestualmente alla nomina presidente Laezza, l’Assemblea AEFI ha nominato anche i vicepresidenti: Antonio Bruzzone (direttore generale BolognaFiere); Lorenzo Cagnoni (presidente IEG), Fabrizio Curci (amministratore delegato Fiera Milano); Maurizio Danese (presidente Veronafiere).

AEFI rappresenta 35 quartieri fieristici e 1000 manifestazioni che contribuiscono ad un flusso di milioni di operatori e 200mila imprese da tutto il mondo.

After having been granted the white mantle from the Saints Crispin and Crispinian fellowship at the Devotion to Work Award this past October, he was then nominated as President of AEFI- the Italian Exhibition and Trade Fair Association.

“I am very satisfied with this nomination that arrives at the end of a long and successful pathway in the Association. – declares Laezza – I was Vice President of the Association for 12 years with important responsibilities, including in particular professional training, and I was also head of the Commission of Small Trade Fairs. I’ve believed in the Association since the very beginning and have always been fully committed”.

What will be the issues on which the activities of the newly elected President will focus? “Without a doubt, I will sit down with CFI – the Fair Industry Committee and do my best to cement a merger between the two companies – he replies – so that a sole representative is created for the Italian trade fair industry. I had already started working towards this goal as Vice President and I soon hope it will be finalized”.

At the same time Laezza was nominated as President, the AEFI Assembly also nominated the Vice Presidents: Antonio Bruzzone (Executive Director of BolognaFiere); Lorenzo Cagnoni (President of IEG), Fabrizio Curci (CEO of Fiera Milano); and Maurizio Danese (President of Veronafiere).

AEFI represents 35 trade fair districts and 1000 events that contribute to attracting millions of operators and 200 thousand businesses from around the world.

The traditional awards ceremony for the footwear industry’s Devotion to Work Awards was held in Vigevano by the national SS Crispin and Crispinian Consortium.

Il 27 e 28 ottobre scorso si è rinnovato il sentito appuntamento con la “Festa del Lavoro – Festa dell’uomo” di Vigevano, che costituisce anche l’annuale festa dei protettori del Consorzio dei Santi Crispino e Crispiniano, i Santi calzolai che subirono il martirio durante l’impero di Massimiano. L’evento è tradizionalmente anche l’occasione per la consegna del prestigioso Premio ‘Fedeltà al lavoro’, giunto ormai alla sua 38.ma edizione e ancora una volta patrocinato da Assocalzaturifici, assegnato agli imprenditori, ai manager e ai lavoratori che si sono distinti nel settore calzaturiero o nella carriera lavorativa o nella società.

Come da tradizione, la prima parte della Festa del Lavoro ha avuto luogo il sabato sera al Teatro Cagnoni della cittadina pavese, con la proclamazione dei nuovi premiati e la consegna a ciascuno di loro del distintivo e della pergamena, avvenuti alla presenza di Sua Eminenza il Cardinale Edoardo Menichelli, arcivescovo emerito di Ancona – Osimo.

La serata è poi proseguita con lo spettacolo musicale The fool on the hill - Il cappellaio matto e i Beatles, con la voce di Daniele Soriani ad interpretare le canzoni del mitico gruppo di Liverpool.

La manifestazione è quindi giunta al suo culmine la domenica con la processione con le reliquie dei Santi Protettori e la partecipazione dei premiati e dei figuranti del Palio della Contrada dei Santi Crispino e

On 27 and 28 October, the new edition of the “Devotion to Work Award – Celebrating Mankind” was once again held in Vigevano, in a joint celebration that also honours the city’s protectors, Saints Crispin and Crispinian, the patron saints of cobblers, who were martyred under the reign of emperor Maximian. The event also traditionally sees the granting of the prestigious Devotion to Work Award, now its 38 edition and once again sponsored by Assocalzaturifici, which is awarded to entrepreneurs, managers, and workers who have stood out among others in the footwear industry, in their careers, and in society.

In keeping with tradition, the first part of the Devotion to Work celebrations was held Saturday night at the Vigevano Cagnoni Theatre, with the naming of the new winners who all received a certificate of merit and medal of honour in the presence of his Eminence the Cardinal Edoardo Menichelli, Archbishop Emeritus of Ancona – Osimo.

The evening then continued with the musical performance of the “The fool on the hill” and the Beatles, with the voice of Daniele Soriani interpreting the songs of this legendary group from Liverpool.

The event then reached its high point on Sunday, with a procession through Vigevano’s streets that included the relics of the Patron Saints,

and the participation of the award’s winners and important historical figures from the Palio della Contrada of Crispin and Crispinian.

This was followed by High Mass that was celebrated as usual by Cardinal Menichelli and the Bishop of Vigevano Maurizio Gervasoni, with the swearing in of the award’s 15 winners. There was then the traditional donning of the white mantles, as a symbol of job dedication, with the red collar paying tribute to sacrifices made on the job.

The celebrations ended with a social luncheon held in the striking location of the Seconda Scuderia in Vigevano’s Castle Sforzesco, allowing for moments of camaraderie and socializing among the participants. Finally, on Monday, a funeral mass was held in honour of deceased workers and members of the Consortium.

Crispiniano, che hanno attraversato le strade di Vigevano, cui è seguita la Santa messa solenne celebrata sempre dal Card. Menichelli e dal vescovo di Vigevano Maurizio Gervasoni e l’investitura dei 15 premiati.

A suggellare il riconoscimento è stato il tradizionale mantello bianco, simbolo di rettitudine sul lavoro, con il colletto rosso in memoria dei sacrifici fatti per il lavoro stesso.

Lanciata, oltre alle borse, una linea di calzature di alta qualità, fatte in Italia e dal prezzo accessibile.

Da sempre nella moda.

Prima come modella, ora come designer di accessori, sia calzature che borse, e dal 2017 come co-proprietaria e direttrice creativa del marchio Judith Leiber.

Da sei anni Dee Ocleppo, moglie del fashion guru Tommy Hilfiger, dirige il marchio che porta il suo nome, nato con collezioni di borse, a cui, da settembre 2018, si sono aggiunte le calzature.

“Mi interessava costruire una collezione Made in Italy che avesse un prezzo giusto. Per questo motivo abbiamo deciso di vendere direttamente online e spedire in tutto il mondo senza costi aggiuntivi.

Così riusciamo a far pagare 420 dollari al massimo un paio di scarpe di altissimo livello”.

Per spiegare il suo stile, ribalta una tipica affermazione anglosassone: “More is more.

Mi piace esagerare. Trovo non sia così importante la tipologia di modello che si decide di proporre (noi ne offriamo di tantissimi e diversi), quanto la qualità con cui il modello viene realizzato”.

E mentre Tommy Hilfiger, che le è sempre accanto, spiega che fra i suoi prossimi progetti vi sarà qualcosa di legato al mondo sportivo, noi chiediamo a lei come viva il confronto con una tale icona della

To explain her style, she reverses a typical Anglo-Saxon affirmation: “More is more. I like to exaggerate. I find the type of model that we decide to propose (we offer many and different) not so important as the quality with which the model is made”.

And while Tommy Hilfiger, who is always close to her, explains that among his future projects there will be something linked to the sporting world, we ask her how she lives the comparison with such a fashion icon: “I am very lucky, because I can benefit from his suggestions every day... and I do not have to pay!”. The next steps of the brand aim to build a global (online and offline) distribution, which touches its main objectives: United Arab Emirates and China.

Abbiamo chiesto alla Presidente di Assocalzaturifici, Annarita Pilotti, le sue impressioni in merito.

Il Tavolo della Moda che si è svolto lo scorso ottobre a Roma è stato contrassegnato dalla collaborazione e dalla continuità rispetto alla gestione del precedente governo. Cosa ci può dire in merito alle politiche di aiuto al comparto calzaturiero?

“Abbiamo chiesto al ministro dello Sviluppo economico la necessità di continuare a sostenere le imprese calzaturiere nella realizzazione delle collezioni, ricalcando il percorso già segnato dal precedente Governo, ma estendendo il perimetro delle spese ammissibili a tutte le fasi della preparazione, soprattutto senza i vincoli legati alla cosiddetta incrementalità, che per le piccole e medie imprese del nostro settore rappresenta un ostacolo non da poco, vista soprattutto l’incertezza sui mercati.

Poi abbiamo insistito sulla necessità di abbattere il cuneo fiscale. Il costo del lavoro nel nostro Paese è troppo alto. Per sopravvivere e continuare ad esportare le nostre eccellenze, ci servono risorse per abbattere fortemente questi costi. Altrimenti sarà davvero difficile fermare la delocalizzazione”.

Quali sono gli ultimi sviluppi rispetto ad un tema così importante e ‘caldo’ come l’obbligatorietà dell’etichettatura d’origine?

“Per quanto riguarda il ‘Made in’, deve essere una priorità per l’Italia in Europa. Da oltre dieci anni cerchiamo, senza alcun risultato, di garantire una norma di civiltà, che possa informare il consumatore finale circa la provenienza geografica del prodotto. Purtroppo finora le trattative a livello europeo hanno sempre portato ad esiti insoddisfacenti. Assocalzaturifici continuerà a battersi affinché l’UE riconosca l’importanza della nostra manifattura sana e di qualità, che venga riconosciuta e tutelata l’eccellenza della nostra produzione manifatturiera e di tutti i consumatori europei che finalmente potrebbero acquistare in maniera trasparente in Europa. La trasparenza nei confronti del consumatore è, infatti, un principio sacrosanto ed è pertanto necessario regolamentarlo, ponendo fine ad una situazione di opacità che si protrae da troppo tempo. L’applicazione di un’etichetta per rendere nota l’origine di un paio di scarpe non è un ostacolo alla libera circolazione delle merci, ma è semplicemente lo strumento più equo e veloce per coniugare le dinamiche commerciali dell’offerta al rispetto del diritto del consumatore di essere informato, diritto che peraltro è tutelato dai più evoluti e grandi mercati mondiali - Stati Uniti, Canada, Giappone, Australia e Cina - per accedere ai quali si deve indicare l’origine della propria merce”.

Lo scorso settembre la Commissione per il mercato interno e la protezione dei consumatori del Parlamento europeo non ha accolto l’emendamento proposto dall’Italia sul ‘Made in’ e l’obbligatorietà dell’etichettatura d’origine, emendamento che avrebbe avuto la sua logica collocazione all’interno del ‘Pacchetto Merci’ il cui obiettivo era proprio quello di rafforzare la sorveglianza di mercato sui prodotti. Alla notizia, il presidente della sezione calzature di Confindustria Centro Adriatico, nonché delegato di Assocalzaturifici per il ‘Made in’, Enrico Ciccola, aveva ribadito che a questo punto non restava che guardare alle elezioni europee di maggio 2019, in un clima senza dubbio più favorevole all’Italia grazie all’uscita di scena dell’Inghilterra con la Brexit, storico oppositore della coalizione dei paesi contrari all’etichettatura d’origine. È iniziata così l’azione di lobby sulle istituzioni europee ricordando che “la soglia per raggiungere la maggioranza qualificata in Consiglio si abbasserà notevolmente rendendo più semplice la possibile approvazione della norma: l’importante è essere coesi e compatti nel presentare la nostra proposta” aveva affermato Ciccola.

Un passo avanti sull’argomento e, più in generale, sugli aiuti al comparto moda da parte del Governo è stato sicuramente il Tavolo della Moda riunitosi a Roma lo scorso ottobre, il primo dell’Era M5S-Lega, avvenuto dopo mesi di silenzio duranti i quali molte erano state le lamentele da parte delle istituzioni del sistema moda.

All’appuntamento sono intervenuti i rappresentati delle associazioni confindustriali legate al settore moda e accessorio, tra cui Confindustria Moda, Assocalzaturifici, Sistema Moda Italia, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Pitti Immagine e Altaroma; da parte del Governo erano presenti il Vicepremier e ministro dello Sviluppo economico Luigi Di Maio, il sottosegretario del Mise con delega all’internazionalizzazione Michele Geraci, e il ministro dei Beni e delle attività culturali Alberto Bonisoli. Al centro dell’incontro vi sono state le politiche di sviluppo e d’investimento che il Governo ha annunciato voler proseguire a sostegno del comparto, in linea con quanto avvenuto in passato con i governi precedenti. Un comparto - quello del fashion - che come ha sottolineato il Presidente di Confindustria Moda, Claudio Marenzi, rappresenta la terza maggiore industria del Paese, con un surplus sulla bilancia commerciale di 27,7 miliardi di euro e una crescita del fatturato nel 2017 di 94,8 mld (+3,9%).

Nel frattempo il pressing su Bruxelles è proseguito anche a dicembre, con la richiesta da parte di una delegazione di Assocalzaturifici, affiancata da Confindustria Ceramica e FederlegnoArredo, dell’obbligatorietà dell’etichettatura Made In sulle merci in circolazione in Europa. “Dobbiamo fare presto – ha sottolineato ancora una volta Enrico Ciccola - se non vogliamo che chiudano non solo le aziende calzaturiere ma anche interi territori, con il conseguente disastro occupazionale e sociale che tutti possiamo immaginare. È una battaglia di civiltà sulla quale non arretriamo di un centimetro”.

The Fashion Table held last October in Rome was characterised by collaboration and continuity with what was done by the previous government. What can you tell us regarding the policies in support of the fashion industry?

“We told the Minister of Economic Development that it was necessary to continue to support footwear manufacturers in the development of their collections, asking them to recalculate the plan already set down by the previous government, while extending the limits of acceptable expenses to include all the phases of preparation, and above all without the constraints connected to so-called ‘incrementals’, which for small and medium-sized businesses in our sector represents a significant obstacle, especially in light of the uncertainty in markets.

We then insisted on the need to reduce the tax wedge. The cost of labour in our country is too high. To survive and continue to export our excellences, we require resources that will help us significantly cut back on these costs. Otherwise it will be extremely difficult to stop offshoring”.

What are the latest developments regarding the extremely ‘hot’ and important topic of mandatory country of origin labelling?

“As far as ‘Made in’ is concerned, it must be a priority for Italy in Europe. For more than ten years, without any success, we have tried to guarantee consumer rights through a regulation that informs the end customer about the geographic origins of the product.

Unfortunately, up until now, negotiations on a European level have always led to unsatisfactory results. Assocalzaturifici will continue to fight for approval until the EU recognises the importance of our safe and quality manufacturing and recognises and protects the excellence of our product. This will allow all European consumers the possibility of finally being able to purchase products in complete transparency.

Transparency towards the consumer in fact is a sacrosanct principle and therefore it is necessary to regulate it, putting an end to this situation of opacity that has gone on for too long now. The application of a label to make the origin of a pair of shoes known is not an obstacle to the free circulation of goods, but simply an instrument of greater equality and speed for combining the commercial dynamics of the offer with respect for the consumer’s rights to be informed, a right, which for that matter, is also protected by the most evolved markets worldwide – the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, and China – that can be accessed only be declaring the origin of your goods”.

With an eye to the European Parliament elections in May 2019 – the first after Brexit – and strong from the results of the Fashion Table held in Rome this past October, we take stock of the situation regarding the government’s support of the fashion industry and the protection of ‘Made in’ with the President of Assocalzaturifici, Annarita Pilotti.

This past September the European Parliament’s Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection did not pass the amendment proposed

by Italy on ‘Made in’ and the implementation of mandatory country of origin labels, an amendment that would have logically been included in the “Goods package” aimed at reinforcing market surveillance on products. Upon hearing the news, the President of the footwear section of Confindustria Centro Adriatico, as well as the Assocalzaturifici deputy for ‘Made in’, Enrico Ciccola, reiterated that the only thing left to do was to await the European Parliament elections in May 2019, where the climate would undoubtedly become more favourable for Italy, because of Brexit and the decision of the UK - which was historically opposed to the coalition of countries desiring the mandatory labelling - to leave the Union. This was the beginning of a series of lobbying activities aimed at European institutions, without forgetting that “the minimum number of votes needed to achieve a qualified majority vote in the Committee will be lowered significantly, making it easier to get the regulation passed: the important thing is to be united and determined in presenting our proposal”, confirmed Ciccola.

One step forward not only on this issue, but also in terms of state support to the fashion industry, was without doubt the Fashion Table held in Rome this past October, the first of the M5S-Lega coalition, after months of silence during which many complaints were filed by the institutions of the fashion system. Attending the meeting were representatives from the industrial confederation associations connected to the fashion and accessories industry, including Confindustria Moda, Assocalzaturifici, Sistema Moda Italia, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Pitti Immagine and Altaroma; instead the government was represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development Luigi Di Maio, the Undersecretary of MISE, Michele Geraci, with special responsibility for international trade and investment, and the Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities, Alberto Bonisoli. The heart of the meeting’s discussions revolved around policies of development and investments that the government announced it would like to make in support of the sector and in line with what was previously done by past governments.

The fashion industry, as underlined by the President of Confindustria Moda, Claudio Marenzi, represents the third biggest industry in the country, with a trade surplus of 27.7 billion euros and a sales revenue that grew in 2017 to 94.8 billion (+3.9%).

In the meantime, the Association continued to put pressure on Brussels also in December, through an Assocalzaturifici delegation accompanied by Confindustria Ceramica and FederlegnoArredo, for the implementation of the mandatory ‘Made in’ label on goods circulating in Europe. “We must proceed quickly –underlined Enrico Ciccola once again - if we don’t want to see not only footwear producers close, but also entire territories, bringing with it the unemployment and social upheaval we can all imagine. It is a battle for basic rights that we will not back down from by even one centimetre”.

Con lo scopo di comprendere meglio i propri clienti, negli anni ’90 Tesco ha introdotto per la prima volta il sistema delle carte fedeltà, uno dei momenti cruciali nella storia della vendita al dettaglio.

Oggi, le carte fedeltà non bastano più. Quasi i due terzi dei consumatori avvertono la sensazione che le aziende di cui sono clienti, non li conoscano poi così bene (64%).

Per la seconda edizione del report “Shopper-First Retailing”, Salesforce, in collaborazione con Publicis.Sapient, ha esaminato le nuove regole che guidano il settore retail, individuando 5 punti: 1. Le aziende e i siti di e-commerce (marketplace) stanno “spremendo” i retailer.

Sebbene gli acquisti al dettaglio siano preferiti per un migliore servizio clienti, gli acquisti tramite siti di e-commerce e siti delle aziende restano i favoriti dai consumatori.

I retailer devono sfruttare il punto di forza giocato dal servizio offerto modernizzando le

tecniche di vendita attraverso nuovi strumenti come le video chat o i chat bot sempre attivi.

Inoltre, dovrebbero anche mirare a migliorare la percezione dei clienti per quanto riguarda la qualità e la disponibilità dei prodotti in vendita.

2. I siti di e-commerce multimarca vincono per fidelizzazione e secondo acquisto.

Trovandosi nella situazione di dover acquistare qualcosa per la prima volta, il 50% dei consumatori dichiara di effettuare il primo acquisto in negozio, il 31% tramite siti di e-commerce multimarca e il 19% direttamente tramite il sito dell’azienda. Quando si tratta, invece, di fare acquisiti ripetuti, i siti multimarca e multi-categoria vincono sen-

za fatica e il 47% dei clienti dichiara di sceglierli come canali d’acquisto per prodotti già comprati in precedenza.

Il secondo acquisto è dunque il nuovo campo di battaglia.

Agilità, fidelizzazione e personalizzazione sono indispensabili per rivenditori e marchi per differenziare e vincere questa importante gara. Esperienze e prodotti indimenticabili non possono essere commercializzati.

3. I clienti usano il telefonino in negozio come mai prima d’ora.

Il punto vendita è tutt’altro che superato: il 46% dei clienti preferisce ancora acquistare in un negozio fisico, mentre il 35% opta per gli store online e il 18% compra da mobile.

Inoltre, il 71% dei clienti dichiara di utilizzare il proprio telefonino in negozio, rispetto al 62% del 2017. A parte alcune rare eccezioni, nei negozi mancano le call-to-action per il mobile, né sono presenti app con funzionalità omnicanale o personalizzazione per gli utenti da mobile. Chi punta tutto sull’omnicanalità dovrebbe quindi imparare a sfruttare al meglio le potenzialità offerte dall’uso degli smartphone nei negozi tramite l’uso mirato di app, geofencing, SMS e social media.

4. Sta arrivando il fast retail: i clienti preferiscono rivenditori capaci di muoversi alla loro velocità.

Il 69% dei consumatori afferma che è importante vedere nuovi prodotti ogni volta che entrano in un negozio o un sito per fare shopping. Il 75% delle chiavi di ricerca utilizzate dai consumatori nei siti sono nuove e cambiano ogni mese, a dimostrazione della rapidità con cui i clienti scoprono nuovi tipi di prodotti, marchi e servizi. Per quanto riguarda i prodotti, il 59% dei consumatori afferma di essere più incline a fare acquisti da aziende che offrono prodotti personalizzati.

La personalizzazione esclusiva deve andare ben oltre il semplice monogramma, facendo diventare il cliente stesso parte del processo creativo.

5. Le aziende vincono per valori, personalizzazione dell’offerta e servizio fornito.

I consumatori premiano chi sa guardare oltre le transazioni commerciali e gli ordini effettuati allo scopo di dare valore anche alla relazione che si va a creare con il cliente.

Qual è il segreto? La condivisione di valori, la capacità di personalizzazione e la qualità del servizio.

The American company analysed the responses of over 6,000 consumers and 1.4 billion visits to the main e-commerce portals.

In order to better understand its customers, in the 1990s Tesco introduced for the first time the loyalty card system, one of the crucial moments in the history of retail sales. Today, loyalty cards are no longer enough. Almost two-thirds of consumers have the feeling that the companies they are customers of, after all, do not know them so well (64%). Artificial intelligence and machine learning, however, have the potential to change the situation, allowing retail professionals to anticipate consumer moves to offer tailor-made experiences.

For the second edition of the “Shopper-First Retailing” report, Salesforce, in cooperation with Publicis.Sapient, examined the new rules that guide the retail sector, identifying 5 points: 1. Companies and e-commerce sites (marketplace) are “squeezing” retailers.

Although retail purchases are preferred for better customer service, purchases through e-commerce sites and corporate sites remain consumer favourites. Retailers must exploit the strength of the service offered by modernising sales techniques through new tools such as always active video chats or chat bots. In addition, they should also aim to improve customer perceptions regarding the quality and availability of sale products.

2. Multi-brand e-commerce sites win by loyality and second purchase.

Being in the situation of having to buy something for the first time, 50% of consumers said to make the first purchase at the store, 31% through multi-brand e-commerce sites and 19% directly through the company website. When it comes

to making repeat purchases, multi-brand and multi-category sites win without effort and 47% of customers declare to choose them as purchase channels for already previously bought products.

The second purchase is therefore the new battlefield. Agility, loyalty and personalisation are essential for dealers and brands to differentiate and win this important race. Experiences and unforgettable products can not be commercialised.

3. Customer use mobile phone at the store like never before.

The point of sale is far from being over: 46% of customers still prefer to buy in a physical store, while 35% opt for online stores and 18% buy from mobile. In addition, 71% of customers say they use their mobile phone at the store, compared to 62% in 2017. Apart from few rare exceptions, at the stores call-to-action for mobiles are missing, as well as apps with omnichannel functionality or personalisation for mobile users. Those who rely on omni-channeling should therefore learn how to make the most of the potential offered by the use of smartphones at the stores through the targeted use of apps, geofencing, SMS and social media.

4. Fast retailing is coming: customers prefer retailers able to move at their speed.

69% of consumers say it’s important to see new products every time they enter a store or shopping site. 75% of the search keys used by consumers on the sites are new and change every month, demonstrating the speed with which customers discover new types of products, brands and services. Regarding products, 59% of consumers say they are more inclined to make purchases from companies that offer personalised products.

Exclusive personalisation must go far beyond the simple monogram, making the customer become a part of the creative process.

5. Companies win by value, personalisation of the offer and the service provided.

Consumers reward those who are able to look beyond business transactions and orders made for the purpose of giving value also to the relationship that is created with the customer. What’s the secret? The sharing of values, the ability of personalising and service quality.

Il sito del settore fashion più potente in Italia è senza dubbio zalando.it, seguito da stileo.it e bonprix.it. Per quanto riguarda il mercato globale (dati di settembre 2018), invece, il sito più autorevole è diventato Macy’s (macys.com), dopo il quale troviamo ASOS e H&M. È curioso anche notare come cambia la vita del cliente online: ogni giorno tutto diventa più digitale e più smart, con i cellulari che rappresentano sempre di più lo strumento indispensabile per ricercare notizie e fare acquisti. Solo il 3.16% dei consumatori, infatti, visita i siti e-commerce da desktop e il 13.71% lo fa da mobile (dall’utilizzo globale dei device). L’Italia è il secondo Paese al mondo per percentuale di ricerche su mobile dopo gli Stati Uniti. Nonostante questo, siamo abituati a sentire che la maggior parte degli acquisti online anche oggi avviene da desktop e non da mobile.

Online shopping is an increasingly concrete reality also in Italy and increasingly involves fashion. SEMrush took stock of the current situation, with a special eye of regard to footwear.

It is exactly footwear, in fact, together with watches to represent the most searched online products throughout the year.

Preferably in red.

If up to only five years ago, a very small minority of Italians made online purchases, today it has become an increasingly concrete reality that regards also fashion, apparel, and accessories. The slogan ‘Buy online’ is by now everywhere and used by brands to attract consumers looking to make their purchases much easier and often more advantageous in terms of price. So, it is no surprise that online sales channels are quickly multiplying.

SEMrush, the SaaS platform for the management of online visibility, did an analysis of online fashion stores active in the Italian market, with a special side study on footwear, and the results were interesting.

The most powerful fashion industry site in Italy today is without a doubt zalando.it, followed by stileo.it and bonprix.it. As far as the global market is concerned, (according to September 2018 statistics), the most influential site has become Macy’s (macys.com), followed by ASOS and H&M. It is also interesting to note how the life of the online customer changes: every day everything becomes more digital and smarter, with cell phones increasingly representing the essential tool for reading the news and making purchases.

Only 3.16% of consumers, in fact, visit e-commerce sites from their desktop computers, while 13.71% do it from their cell phones (based on an analysis of the global use of devices). Italy is the second country worldwide to do online searches through cell phones right after the United States.

Despite this, we are used to hearing that most online purchases today occur from desktop computers and not cell phones.

With regards to online advertising, which is

without a doubt one of the most powerful tools for the promotion of a product, we see words like “new collection” and “until” used as the most popular key-words in advertising in Italy. The TOP products that brands promote through advertising are shoes, jeans, and socks.

72.15% of all website owners spend 0-5000 $ per month on advertising, 13.92% spend between 10,000-50,000$, and only 2.53% invest more than 50.000+ $ in advertisements. The most popular discount advertised during sales by different brands not only in Italy, but also in the United Kingdom, the United States, New Zealand, and Canada was 50% for all seasons.

By focusing, instead, on products, we see that watches and shoes are the most sought-out products throughout the entire year. Nevertheless, there is an especially important uptrend in the number of searches done on these kinds of products during the summertime, when other search terms, together with the above, include “belts” (49.500 searches) and “bikini“ (40,500 searches), while for the rest of the year the most popular searches are on “shirts” and “clothing”.

Over the last 12 months, the most clicked on brand in Italy was Zara.

Another interesting aspect to consider are the colours of the products that Italians search the most for on Google: “red shirt”, “red shoes”, “red dress”. The white dress is at the top of the global term search, while in the UK the most popular search is instead for the black dress. Is “red” the

Another result revealed by the study is how the most popular sites in Italy are H&M and ZARA, when considering those consumers who use the specific key-word “online” in their e-commerce and fashion brand web searches.

FOOtWEaR iS OnlinE SEMrush also conducted a separate study on online footwear, both in terms of searches and purchases. The results show that footwear brands from the sports universe or iconic luxury brands rank among the most searched for and desired brands by Italians.

If only Made in Italy luxury brands are considered, there is an especially strong performance by Gucci, even if the brand experiences great fluctuations in general and downtrends during the summer period.

Focalizzando invece l’attenzione sui prodotti, vediamo che gli orologi e le scarpe sono gli oggetti più cercati durante tutto l’anno. Una crescita particolare delle ricerche avviene tuttavia in estate, in quanto gli oggetti più cercati oltre a quelli detti sopra diventano “cinture” (49500 ricerche) e “bikini“ (40500 ricerche), mentre per tutto il resto dell’anno sono “camicie” e “vestiti”.

Durante gli ultimi 12 mesi il brand più ricercato in Italia è Zara. Un altro aspetto interessante da notare sono i colori dei prodotti che gli italiani cercano di più su Google: “maglietta rossa”, “scarpe rosse”, “vestito rosso”. L’abito bianco è al top per la ricerca globale, in UK il massimo risultato è, invece, per l’abito nero. “Rosso” è il nuovo “bianco” oppure è il colore preferito degli italiani? È curioso anche il fatto che gli australiani cerchino soprattutto scarpe color rubino e i canadesi scarpe gialle.

Per quanto riguarda i siti e-commerce e i marchi di moda più ricercati dai consumatori che utilizzano la parola-chiave specifica “online”, in Italia l’analisi ha rilevato che i siti di moda più digitati sono H&M e ZARA.

la CalZatURa E l’OnlinE SEMrush ha anche condotto un approfondimento sulle calzature on-line, sia in termini di ricerca che di acquisti. I risultati mostrano che i marchi di calzature che gli italiani cercano di più online e più desiderati in termini di acquisto sono quelli appartenenti all’universo sportivo oppure i brand iconici del lusso.

Considerando esclusivamente i marchi del lusso Made in Italy, emerge una performance particolarmente rilevante da parte di Gucci, seppure con un andamento altalenante e con una flessione nel periodo estivo.

Il traffico più alto in Italia oggi lo hanno i siti di Gucci, Armani, MaxMara, Twinset e Patrizia Pepe. Interessante notare che i siti di Dolce&Gabbana e Fendi sono più visitati da mobile rispetto a MaxMara e Twinset (leader per traffico totale).

Per quanto riguarda in particolare le calzature, i brand più ricercati su Internet sono Gucci, Valentino, Armani, Chiara Ferragni e Prada. Bianco, nero, rosa e rosso sono invece i colori più ricercati nell’ambito delle scarpe di brand di lusso.

Intervista a David Clementoni, Ceo e fondatore di Italian Artisan

ItalIan artIsan: lET’S rOck madE in iTaly “Amo definire Italian Artisan non solo una piattaforma b2b, ma un ecosistema di artigiani, una comunità che opera con l’obiettivo di portare la tradizione manifatturiera più importante al mondo - quella del Made in Italy nel futuro del commercio”.

Così David Clementoni definisce la sua ‘creatura’, una start-up promettente che sta cambiando il modo di fare business nel settore calzaturiero.

Per lui, che appartiene alla terza generazione della famiglia che ha creato il noto marchio di giocattoli intelligenti, la via più facile e breve sarebbe stata quella di proseguire nell’ambito di un percorso di crescita professionale già in parte tracciato. Ma non è stato così.

Come nasce l’idea di creare Italian Artisan?

“Dopo il soggiorno negli Stati Uniti, a New York, mi sono accorto di quanto fosse considerato importate il Made in Italy, di quale valore aggiunto avesse ancor oggi in ambito manifatturiero. Al contempo, tuttavia, ho intercettato delle grosse lacune nel rapporto tra brand, produttori artigiani italiani e lo stesso retail: da una parte, le pmi italiane avevano difficoltà ad aprirsi all’internazionalizzazione perché poco digitalizzate, dall’altra i brand internazionali e private label (anche strutturati) non avevano una conoscenza abbastanza profonda del territorio e del tessuto produttivo italiano per diversificare la loro produzione. Ho intravisto la

possibilità di colmare queste lacune di comunicazione e relazione attraverso la tecnologia. La tecnologia mi ha infatti permesso di creare un rapporto di collaborazione, fiducia e trasparenza tra le parti coinvolte. Così è nata, nel 2015, Italian Artisan”.

Di che cosa si tratta?

“Italian Artisan è una piattaforma digitale che mette in connessione da una parte brand internazionali, conosciuti o emergenti, ma anche catene di negozi che si creano il loro private label e dall’altra le piccole medie imprese artigiane italiane. La piattaforma permette ai marchi di entrare in contatto con alcuni dei migliori produttori di made italy calzaturiero, risparmiando i costi legati al processo di acquisto tradizionale come voli, hotel, fiere ecc., con il valore aggiunto di gestire ogni progetto attraverso la piattaforma, comunicando in modo facile e veloce con i produttori stessi.

Allo stesso tempo, Italian Artisan, attraverso la propria Academy, insegna agli imprenditori come essere competitivi nell’era digitale e servire al meglio il cliente, offrendo non solo un prodotto artigianale di alta qualità e ricerca, ma

anche un servizio in termini di risparmio di tempi e costi. Ad oggi sono coinvolti circa 250 aziende produttrici, oltre 1000 tra brand e retailer, per circa 3000 prodotti”.

Come è stato accolto il progetto nella fase iniziale?

“All’inizio è stata molto dura – racconta David Clementoni – c’era molta diffidenza da parte delle aziende, ma soprattutto non si percepiva il valore aggiunto offerto dalla digitalizzazione. Soprattutto da parte delle piccole imprese, ci si concentrava sul prodotto, senza comprendere che non c’era poi la possibilità di farlo conoscere a livello internazionale o che lo si poteva fare a costi accessibili” Quali requisiti devono avere le aziende coinvolte e cosa devono pagare al sito?

“Selezioniamo le aziende secondo dei nostri standard: queste devono garantire una produzione Made in Italy e di qualità. In cambio, i nostri partner pagano una fee che è comunque assolutamente accessibile, grazie al fatto che la tecnologia permette un generale abbattimento dei costi”.

Di quale nazionalità sono i brand/designer che contattano gli artigiani italiani?

“Internazionali, ma soprattutto americani”.

Cosa offre alle due parti – artigiani e brand/private label - la piattaforma Italian Artisan?

“Amo definire la piattaforma come uno strumento per dare trasparenza alla collaborazione delle due parti che non si conoscono, al fine di creare un coordinamento in termini di comunicazione e processi.

Ci tengo a sottolineare che le aziende artigiane coinvolte nel nostro progetto evolvono con il progetto stesso, grazie al fatto che la piattaforma mette loro a disposizione degli strumenti di business e di crescita che erano fino ad oggi appannaggio solo delle multinazionali. Dall’altro lato, i brand risparmiano sui costi e in termini di tempo, e hanno un supporto consulenziale da parte di una realtà, come la nostra, esperta del tessuto manifatturiero italiano”.

Possiamo dire che la vostra è una sorta di ‘distretto digitale’?

“Sì, siamo un distretto online dove la tecnologia permette di valorizzare le caratteristiche distintive del distretto stesso, in quanto rese accessibili ai brand internazionali”.

Parlate di soluzioni per produrre e crescere: vuole spiegarci meglio?

“La nostra idea è di produrre in Italia in modo semplificato: dopo l’iscrizione sul sito, avviene il caricamento della richiesta e poi il matching tra brand e produttore. Questo è tuttavia solo l’inizio, perché da qui ha inizio un percorso di crescita per entrambe le parti coinvolte, con il supporto dei nostri coach specializzati. Offriamo un servizio a 360 gradi, dal design del prodotto alla produzione fino alla logistica.

Il nostro è un servizio ‘chiavi in mano”.

Ci sono dei vantaggi anche per il retail?

“Certo: il retail può rendersi indipendente dal processo di acquisto tradizionale, tagliando la filiera e quindi i costi, così da poter offrire in negozio, ai propri clienti, un prodotto premium a prezzi accessibili. Ritengo che le nuove generazioni siano alla ricerca di un nuovo concetto di lusso che più che sul solo potere del brand, si basa sulla qualità vera, l’artigianalità, la filiera trasparente, lo storytelling e il prezzo accessibile”.

Quali sono i vostri obiettivi a medio-lungo termine?

“Vogliamo investire ancora di più sulla formazione imprenditoriale, affinché vi sia una

This is the name that David Clementoni has given his “creature”, a promising start-up that is changing the way of doing business in the footwear industry. Representing the third generation of the family renowned for its legendary brand of intelligent toys, the easiest road to go down would have been that of continuing along the professional pathway first commenced by his family’s business. What he did instead was altogether different.

How was Italian Artisan conceived?

“After a stay in the United States, in New York, I realised just how important Made in Italy was considered and the extra value it still represents today in manufacturing. At the same time, I noticed some significant gaps in the rapport between brands, Italian artisanal producers and retail itself: from one end, Italian SMEs were struggling in opening themselves up to internationalisation, because of little or no digitalisation present in their organisations. What exactly is Italian Artisan?

“Italian Artisan is a digital platform that brings international brands, both established and emerging, but also chain stores with their own private labels, into contact with small and medium-sized Italian artisanal businesses. The platform allows brands to enter into contact with some of the best Made in Italy footwear producers, so that they save on the costs associated with traditional purchasing processes such as flights, hotels, fairs, etc., with the added value of being able to manage each project through the platform, while also easily and quickly communicating with the producers themselves.

At the same time, Italian Artisan, through its own Academy, teaches entrepreneurs how to be competitive in the digital age and how to better serve customers, offering not only a high quality and sophisticated artisanal product, but also a service in terms of savings in time and money.

Today, there are around 250 artisans and over 1000 brands and retailers, for around 3000 products”.

What kind of feedback did the project receive at the beginning?

“At the beginning, it was very hard – explains David Clementoni – many companies had misgivings, and above all it was difficult for them to understand the added value offered by digitalisation. This was especially true of small companies, which were more focused on the product, without understanding that there was also the possibil-

Una curiosità: ma perché a un rampollo di una delle maggiori realtà dell’industria del giocattolo italiana viene in mente di creare una piattaforma online per il settore calzaturiero?

Da dove arriva il tuo amore per la scarpa e l’artigianalità?

“Sono nato nelle Marche, una terra dove esiste uno dei più importanti distretti calzaturieri italiani, e fin da piccolo ho avuto la passione per le scarpe. Quando conoscevo qualcuno, la prima cosa che guardavo erano le calzature che aveva ai piedi: mi raccontavano molto sulla sua personalità. Crescendo, ho imparato da mia madre ad apprezzare la qualità, il ben fatto a mano, al di là dei loghi e delle griffe. Ho imparato fin da piccolo ad apprezzare l’autenticità e a pormi sempre con umiltà e coraggio”.

I feel it’s important to underline that the artisanal businesses involved in our project evolve with the project itself, thanks to the platform that makes business tools and tools for growth available to them. We offer a 360-degree service, from the design of the product to production and logistics. Ours is a ‘turnkey’ service”.

Are there also advantages for retail?

“Of course: retail can set itself free from traditional purchasing practices, cutting out the supply chain and thereby saving money. This way it is possible to offer customers a premium product at a reasonable price in stores. I believe

that new generations are in search of a new luxury concept that is based on more than just brand power, with a focus on genuine quality, craft workmanship, a transparent supply chain, storytelling, and a competitive price”.

What are your goals in the mid to longterm?

“We would like invest even more in entrepreneurial training, so that there is an even more efficient collaboration within our community.

From young designers to established brands, we would like to help brands grow. We have put great effort into our Academy, cultivating a hotbed of young talents who are expert in products, marketing, communication, and business management. At the same time, we aim to reinforce our presence on strategic markets like the USA”.

At the last edition of Micam, you were present at the Assocalzaturifici stand: in what way do you collaborate with the association?

“We are working on some projects that I hope will soon be ready for presentation”.

Just out of curiosity, we would like to ask how a descendant of one of the leading Italian industrial toy realities ever thought of creating an online platform for the footwear industry. From where did this love for shoes and craft workmanship arrive?

“I was born in Marches, a land where one of the most important Italian footwear districts is located, and ever since I was little, I’ve always had a passion for shoes. Whenever I met someone, the first thing I would look at were the shoes on their feet: they would tell me a lot about their personalities. As I grew up, I learned from my mother how to appreciate quality and skilled handcrafting, in an understanding that goes beyond logos and designer labels. As a child, I learned to appreciate authenticity and the importance of always presenting myself with humility and courage”.

More than 415 thousand square metres of surface space are divided between an area dedicated to materials for footwear and accessories and a specialised area for the finished product, with more than 5 million products on display. Construction of the Center first began 28 years ago and was only recently finished, with a special inaugural ceremony taking place this past 1 November, with the sponsorship of the Guangzhou Footwear Association, which on the occasion was represented by General Manager Ms. Xiaomin Chen.

The Center proposes itself as a completely self-sufficient reality, representing the entire industrial chain of footwear production, alongside sales, imports, and exports. Inside there are a total of 16 Buildings, with leading realities like BuYun Shoes World, the Xin Hao Pan Shoe Material Leather & Metals Wholesale Plaza, and the Guangzhou West City Shoes Plaza standing out in particular.

Con oltre 45 anni di storia alle spalle, festeggiati lo scorso gennaio alla presenza del suo fondatore e presidente Francisco Santos, Couromoda torna dal 14 al 17 gennaio 2019 all’Expo Center Norte di San Paolo per presentare le nuove collezioni per l’inverno e gli aggiornamenti sull’estivo.

L’evento, guidato oggi da Jeferson Santos (CEO di Couromoda), si presenta più che mai vitale, in grado di offrire una panoramica completa e selezionata della produzione del paese e di attirare importanti buyer del mercato domestico e internazionale, fornendo al contempo approfondimenti e informazioni sul settore con sfilate e seminari sulle tendenze moda e il retail proposti all’interno del suo Forum. La manifestazione è particolarmente importante anche per la sua ‘onda lunga’ durante l’anno, generando circa il 35% del business dell’intero settore.

Sul fronte dei visitatori professionali, sono invece attesi oltre 42mila presenze, in linea con l’edizione del 2018, provenienti da 55 paesi nel mondo.

Risultati che sono frutto di un’azione in progress svolta dagli organizzatori lungo tutto l’arco dell’anno attraverso azioni promozionali sui diversi media, piattaforme e con la partecipazione ai più importanti appuntamenti professionali internazionali.

Ma anche espressione della capacità di Couromoda di reiventarsi nel corso del tempo, e intercettare i cambiamenti in atto nel mercato globale della calzatura. Un rinnovamento che ha riguardato anche il percorso espositivo e il layout degli stand, avviato a partire dalla scorsa edizione e mirato a rendere l’esperienza in fiera ottimale sotto tutti i punti di vista.

Ancora una volta si svolgerà in concomitanza con Couromoda il São Paulo Prêt-à-Porter – la Fiera internazionale per l’industria della moda, dell’abbigliamento e degli accessori, giunta alla sua nona edizione. Insieme, le due fiere offrono ai retailer l’opportunità di verificare le tendenze della stagione con un approccio a 360 gradi.

On show will be an estimated 2 thousand collections of footwear, leather goods, and fashion accessories, representing around 90% of all production in Brazil. In terms of professional visitors, more than 42,000 participants coming from 55 countries worldwide are expected to attend, for results that should be in line with the 2018 edition.

All this is made possible through the on-going actions undertaken by the organisers over the course of the year, with advertising in different media and on various platforms, and participation at the most important international sector events.

However, also Couromoda’s ability to reinvent itself over time and intercept on-going changes in the global footwear market play a key role. First set into motion at the last edition, the show’s renewal has seen the exhibition reorganised, with a new layout for the stands and the intent of making it the very best possible fair experience from every standpoint.

Now in its ninth edition, São Paulo Prêt-à-Porter – the international fair for the fashion, apparel, and accessories industry – will once again be held in conjunction with Couromoda. Together, the two fairs will offer retailers the opportunity to examine the season’s trends with a 360° approach.

Dopo diverse iniziative all’estero, che hanno portato le aziende italiane a contatto con i maggiori mercati della calzatura, Micam torna in Italia per un nuovo atteso appuntamento al centro fieristico di Milano Rho. Protagoniste dell’87esima edizione del Salone saranno le nuove collezioni per l’Autunno Inverno 2019-20, presentate sullo sfondo della nuova tappa della campagna di comunicazione e immagine ispirata al viaggio dantesco: dopo i peccati ambientati nelle bolge infernali e quelli espiati all’interno delle cornici del Purgatorio, è ora il momento di immergersi nella beatitudine delle sfere celesti con l’entrata in Paradiso. Arte, la creatività che caratterizzerà MICAM 87, sposta il focus dai sentimenti contrastanti e “peccaminosi” che il desiderio bramoso di possedere una calzatura di qualità porta con sé, per concentrarsi sull’oggetto stesso. Guardando invece i numeri della passata edizione, si preannuncia un nuovo appuntamento all’insegna di una vocazione sempre più internazionale. Su 45.424 visitatori totali registrati nel settembre scorso, 27.272 erano infatti esteri (+1,6%) e 18.152 gli italiani (+4,3%). In netto aumento sono risultati i visitatori asiatici, con un +68,6% dal solo aggregato Cina+Hong Kong, ma anche le presenze dal Nord America (+43,2%) e, per l’Europa, da Spagna (+9,6%), Portogallo (+4,5%) e Svizzera (+7,8%). Sono invece calati i visitatori provenienti da Francia, Germania, Russia e CSI. Al di là dei numeri, Micam ha intrapreso una riorganizzazione della selezione e l’apertura di nuovi spazi di immagine, diventati motori di aggregazione e d’ispirazione per i visitatori. Nell’area Luxury, la Fashion Square ha rinnovato il glam delle collezioni con le sfilate di moda, gli eventi e seminari sulle tendenze; la Man Square ha invitato a visitare gli stand delle firme della calzatura uomo che si affacciavano sul suo perimetro, mentre la Style Square, con il suo bar avveniristico e le performance, ha catturato l’attenzione dei visitatori del padiglione 3. Protagonists of the 87th edition of the Show will be the new collections for Fall/Winter 2019-20 presented against the backdrop of the new chapter inspiring the ad and image campaign based on Dante’s allegorical journey: after the sins set in the circles of Hell and the glimpses into Purgatory, it is now time to dive into the bliss of celestial atmospheres and enter the gates of Paradise.

Art, the creativity characterising MICAM87, moves the focus from the conflicting sentiments and “sinfulness” resulting from the burning desire to own a quality pair of shoes, to the object itself. The claim “Be inspired by Art, ye who enter” highlights the discovery of the shoe as a work of art, matrix of joy and element that offers a sense of completeness for those who know how to appreciate it, while giving life to all that surrounds it.

By taking a look at the numbers of the past edition, it’s easy to imagine how the new edition will be even more international in its vocation. Out of 45,424 visitors registered during the September edition, 27,272 were in fact foreign (+1.6%) and

In preparazione della nuova edizione di febbraio 2019, Micam ha voluto puntare oltre che sulla creatività e la qualità, anche su una profonda comprensione delle richieste del mercato. Per questo motivo, al fine di intercettare al meglio le richieste delle aziende e degli operatori professionali, ha deciso di avviare un’approfondita analisi del proprio database espositori (così come aveva già fatto per i visitatori), comparando i dati raccolti nelle ultime sei edizioni (da Febbraio 2016 a Settembre 2018).

I risultati di quest’analisi mostrano come il 37% degli espositori complessivi abbia partecipato a tutte le ultime 6 edizioni della manifestazione (43% degli italiani). Il 67% delle aziende italiane che hanno esposto all’86esima edizione di Micam costituisce il cluster dei “fedelissimi”, avendo partecipato anche a tutte le edizioni precedenti, mentre l’11% del totale vi ha partecipato per la prima volta.

Nell’ultima edizione in particolare, la provenienza degli espositori era così suddivisa: Europa 91%, Asia 4%, Sud America 4% e Nord America 1%. In Europa i primi due Paesi con maggiore partecipazione, dopo l’Italia (61%), sono risultati Spagna e Portogallo (rispettivamente 15,2% e 7,5% degli espositori europei).

Relativamente all’attività svolta, oltre il 70% degli espositori produce calzature e quasi il 10% le commercializza (distributore + commerciante).

A net increase instead characterised the number of Asian visitors, with not only the duo of China and Hong Kong growing together at a rate of +68.6%, but also an uptrend in visitor numbers from North America (+43.2%) and, for Europe, from Spain (+9.6%), Portugal (+4.5%) and Switzerland (+7.8%). Instead, buyer numbers from France and Germany and from Russia and the CIS were down.

Going beyond the numbers, Micam has undertaken a reorganization of its selection, while also opening new image areas, which have become driving forces for integration and an inspiration to visitors. In the Luxury area, the Fashion Square has renewed the glam of the collections with fashion shows, events, and trend seminars. At the same time, the Man Square has extended the invitation to visit the stands of designer men’s footwear lining its perimeter, while the Style Square, with its futuristic bar and performances, has captured the attention of visitors in Hall 3. In the Contemporary area, the Fun Square now proposes Adorn’s hairstyling and makeup stations, LED walls, and virtual reality stations, while the iKidsquare – with its colourful area inspired by the playground – has invited visitors to discover its collections dedicated to the littlest set with a smile. Moreover, the Micam Square has seen its seminars dedicated to fashion trends and retail alternated with a meeting point in the Cosmopolitan area dedicated to footwear and products for leisure time. Finally, the Active area now features sports and leisure collections.

In preparation for the new February 2019 edition, Micam has decided to focus not only on creativity and quality, but also on a greater understanding of the market’s demands. For this reason, with the aim of better intercepting the demands of businesses and professional operators, it decided to undertake an in-depth analysis of its exhibitor database (just like it did with the visitor database), confronting the data from the last six editions (from February 2016 to September 2018).

From this analysis, it has emerged that 37% of all exhibitors participated in all 6 of the last editions of the event (with 43% represented by Italians). At the same time, 67% of Italian exhibitors at the 86th edition of Micam have been classified as part of the event’s “extremely loyal” cluster, since they also participated in all of the previous editions, while 11% of the total participated for the first time.

At the last edition, in particular, the origin of exhibitors was divided up as follows: Europe 91%, Asia 4%, South America 4% and North America 1%. In Europe, the first two countries with the highest rate of participation, after Italy at 61%, were Spain and Portugal (respectively 15.2% and 7.5% of European exhibitors).

Instead, in terms of specific business activities, more than 70% of all exhibitors produce footwear and almost 10% sell footwear (distributors + retailers).

Moda Made in italy dà AppunTAmEnTO A mARzO 2019 Conclusa l’edizione dedicata alla presentazione delle collezioni estive, svoltasi a Monaco di Baviera dal 30 settembre al 2 ottobre 2018, la manifestazione promossa da Assocalzaturifici dà appuntamento agli operatori della calzatura, soprattutto tedeschi, dal 24 al 26 marzo 2019. Protagonista, ancora una volta, la scarpa italiana di qualità.

Moda Made in Italy ha concluso la sua 52esima edizione lo scorso 2 ottobre, portando in scena al MOC – Munich Order Center di Monaco di Baviera, oltre 150 marchi e le loro collezioni per la Primavera Estate 2019. L’evento, promosso da Assocalzaturifici nell’ambito delle attività d’internazionalizzazione dell’associazione, ha registrato risultati in linea con quanto ci si aspettava, superando le iniziali apprensioni legate alla concomitanza con l’Oktoberfest. “ I risultati in termini di affluenza di buyer sono stati in linea con le ultime due manifestazioni. Siamo quindi ragionevolmente soddisfatti. Le aziende hanno lavorato e abbiamo incontrato anche clienti nuovi di cui da qualche tempo non avevamo registrato ordini.

Once again, Italian quality shoes will star as the protagonists.

The 52nd edition of Moda Made in Italy ended this past 2 October, bringing to the MOC – Munich Order Center more than 150 brands and their collections for Spring-Summer 2019.

The event, promoted by Assocalzaturifici, as part of the association’s international initiatives, recorded results in line with forecasts, thus overcoming the initial misgivings concerning the event’s dates, which coincided with Oktoberfest. “The results in terms of buyer turnout were in line with the last two editions of the event. We are accordingly satisfied. Companies did business and we even met up with new customers who had not been a source of orders for some time now. Certainly tensions in the German footwear retail market persist, while

Moda Made in Italy resta quindi il Salone di riferimento in Germania e nel nord Europa per la calzatura italiana di qualità, da non mancare per mettere a punto i definitivi ordini di fine stagione, con una collocazione temporale strategica nel calendario fieristico internazionale, dopo il Micam. Proprio in quest’ottica, Assocalzaturifici ha annunciato le nuove date per il 2019, che saranno dal 24 al 26 marzo e dal 6 all’8 ottobre.

“L’edizione di Moda Made in Italy di ottobre 2019 si colloca in una posizione temporale ancora più strategica all’interno del calendario fieristico tedesco” ha sottolineato Giovanna Ceolini -. “La manifestazione chiude di fatto la stagione e ci è sembrato corretto distanziarla ulteriormente dal Micam di Milano e collocarla dopo l’Oktoberfest, evento considerato elemento di disturbo dagli addetti ai lavori”.

It is exactly with this in mind that Assocalzaturifici announced the new set of show dates for 2019, which will be from 24 to 26 March and from 6 to 8 October 2019. “The October 2019 edition of Moda Made in Italy is even more strategically positioned on the German trade fair calendar”, explains Giovanna Ceolini -. “The event effectively closes the season, and we thought it would be best to hold it farther away from Micam in Milan, after Oktoberfest, an event which is viewed as a disturbance by members of the trade”.

This accordingly prevents dangerous overlappings, repositioning the event at a more practical time in line with commitments on the trade calendar and the timing of retail business in Germany.

In 2017, around 34 million pairs of shoes were exported to Germany, worth more than one billion euros (+2.7% over 2016), at an average price of just under 30 euros a pair (up 3.5% over the previous year). Germany represents the second largest foreign market for Italian shoemakers (after France) and the third by value, after France and Switzerland. In the first quarter of 2018, flows from Italy increased 3.2% by quantity over the first quarter of 2017, with more limited dynamics which are however equally positive in terms of value (+1.6%).

Evitate quindi pericolose sovrapposizioni, la manifestazione è stata riposizionata in un periodo più in linea con gli impegni delle aziende e i tempi del retail di area tedesca.

Ricordiamo che nel 2017 sono stati esportati in Germania circa 34 milioni di paia di calzature per oltre1 miliardo di euro (+2,7% sul 2016) con un prezzo medio di poco inferiore ai 30 euro al paio (in aumento del 3,5% rispetto all’anno precedente).

La Germania rappresenta il secondo mercato estero in volume per gli operatori italiani (dietro solo alla Francia) e il terzo in valore, dopo Francia e Svizzera. Nel primo trimestre del 2018 i flussi dall’Italia hanno totalizzato incrementi del 3,2% in quantità rispetto al primo trimestre 2017, con dinamiche più contenute ma ugualmente positive (+1,6%) in valore.

Mosshoes: prOgETTi E SuccESSi Dal 10 al 13 settembre scorso, nel Centro Fieristico Internazionale “Crocus Expo” di Mosca, si è rinnovato l’appuntamento con MosShoes, l’evento più importante per l’industria della pelle e della calzature in Russia da oltre 20 anni. La prossima edizione stagionale si svolgerà dal 12 al 15 marzo 2019.

Oltre 600 espositori, provenienti da circa 30 paesi nel mondo, hanno presentato le novità di collezione di circa 1.000 marchi alla scorsa edizione di MosShoes a Mosca, l’appuntamento di riferimento per il mercato russo per i pellami e le calzature. In costante crescita risulta in particolare la presenza di marchi europei con realtà leader di mercato come Primigi e Relaxshoe dall’Italia, Pikolinos dalla Spagna, Barker dalla Gran Bretagna, Bartek dalla Polonia e Walkys dal Portogallo, ma non sono mancati anche importanti brand come Democrata dal Brasile, Ugg Australia dall’Australia, nonché Sketchers e Fila – Russia.

Per quanto riguarda i padiglioni-paese - formula che riserva alle aziende partecipanti diversi vantaggi in termini di promozione ed organizzazione - alle tradizionali presenze di Germania, India, Cina, Armenia e Uzbekistan, si sono aggiunte in questa edizione Spagna e Brasile, che hanno deciso di presentare i loro prodotti nell’ambito delle esposizioni collettive.

Sul fronte dei visitatori, invece, MosShoes ha visto la partecipazione di un totale di 12.136 operatori, +11,4% su marzo 2018. In particolare, sono cresciuti i visitatori professionali provenienti dalle varie regioni della Russia e dei paesi della CSI, che considerano particolarmente vantaggioso un appuntamento come questo che riunisce sotto lo stesso tetto e nelle stesse date tutti i segmenti dell’industria della pelle e della calzatura.

Anche questa edizione di MosShoes ha presentato un ricco pro-

gramma dedicato ai buyer, che sotto la guida degli organizzatori della manifestazione hanno potuto programmare in anticipo gli appuntamenti con le maggiori catene di negozi e ricevere i primi feedback sui loro prodotti.

L’edizione appena conclusasi ha anche mostrato un vivo interesse da parte di visitatori ed espositori per l’iniziativa “Pelle e Componenti”, una sezione della fiera - unica nel suo genere in Russia - che raggruppa insieme produttori di pellami, accessori ed componenti per la produzione di calzature e pelletteria, che ha visto la partecipazione di un’ottantina di aziende.

Anche questa volta si è svolta in concomitanza con MosShoes la fiera delle borse e degli accessori moda ‘MosPel’, con circa 120 aziende e marchi di primaria importanza (+59% su marzo 2018), fra i quali Pierre Cardin, Di Gregorio, Laura Ashley, Goroshek, Richezza, Tergan, Cangurione, Dolci Capricci e Fulton. Il numero di visitatori interessati alla pelletteria e agli accessori moda è cresciuto del 71% rispetto a marzo 2018, a conferma dell’importanza crescente di uno dei trend-chiave del retail.

MosShoes ha dedicato un’attenzione crescente anche alle calzature per bambini, con la partecipazione a MosShoes Kids di oltre 100 aziende di calzature, delle quali 28 new entry, con un incremento del 17,4% sul marzo precedente.

Tra le novità di MosShoes non possiamo non ricordare la TrendZone MS Fashion, organizzata in collaborazione con l’esperto e produttore di fashion-video Andrey Abolenkin, nell’ambito della quale sono state presentate 5 tendenze-chiave della stagione Autunno-Inverno ’19-20 con un’ambientazione creata ‘ad hoc’ attraverso elementi tattili, visivi e audio, volti ad aiutare i buyer ad orientarsi al meglio negli acquisti.

Non ultimo ricordiamo il programma di eventi dedicato al retail, sempre molto ricco, che ha trattato argomenti di particolare interesse come le attività di marketing e merchandising e la gestione del personale. Non meno interessati sono stati gli incontri dedicati alla marchiatura obbligatoria delle calzature, svoltisi nell’ambito della sessione organizzata dal Ministero dell’Industria e del Commercio e dall’Unione Calzaturiera Nazionale. Infine, non possiamo non ricordare quale evento di primaria importanza, e che conferma la dimensione internazionale della fiera, il Forum dal titolo “Creazione delle condizioni e promozione di un’ equa concorrenza”, organizzato da MosShoes in collaborazione con The Russian Union of Tanners and Shoemakers.

Il prossimo appuntamento stagionale con MosShoes è dal 12 al 15 marzo 2019 , con tante novità e una panoramica completa delle nuove tendenze del mercato.

From 10 to 13 September, in the “Crocus Expo” International Exhibition Centre in Moscow, the appointment was renewed with MosShoes, the most important event for the Russian leather and footwear industry for the last 20-plus years.

The next edition will be held from 12 to 15 March 2019.

More than 600 exhibitors coming from around 30 countries worldwide presented the new collections of around 1000 brands at the last edition of MosShoes in Moscow, the leading leather and footwear event for the Russian market. Continuing with a trend of constant growth were European brands in particular, featuring leading market names like Primigi and Relaxshoe from Italy, Pikolinos from Spain, Barker from Great Britain, Bartek from Poland, and Walkys from Portugal. At the same time, there were also important brands like Democrata from Brazil, Ugg Australia from Australia, as well as Sketchers and Fila from Russia.

Instead, the national pavilions – a formula that gives the participating companies a number of advantages in terms of promotion and organisation – featured not only the traditional presence of Germany, India, China, Armenia and Uzbekistan at this edition, but also the new additions of Spain and Brazil, which decided to present their products in the framework of collective expositions.

Compared to March 2018, visitor numbers to MosShoes increased by +11.4%, for a total of 12,136 operators.

In particular, the number of professional visitors coming from the regions of Russia and CIS countries increased, considering that the format of the event, which simultaneously presents all segments of the leather and footwear industry on the same dates, is especially advantageous for buyers.

This edition of MosShoes once again presented a rich programme dedicated to buyers, who assisted by the exhibition organisers, were able to schedule in advance the meetings with representatives of important chains and get feedback on their products.

The recently concluded edition also saw visitors and exhibitors show a strong interest in the initiative “Leather and Components”, a section of the fair – which is one-of-a-kind in Russia – that brings together manufacturers of leathers, accessories and components for footwear and leather goods production, with around 80 companies participating. Among them were leading Russian companies.

At the same time, MosPel, the exhibition of bags and fashion accessories, was once again held in conjunction with MosShoes, presenting over 120 companies and well-known brands (up +59% over March 2018), including Pierre Cardin, Di Gregorio, Laura Ashley, Goroshek, Richezza, Tergan, Cangurione, Dolci Caprici, and Fulton. The number of visitors interested in the segment of bags and accessories increased by 71% compared to March 2018, thus confirming the growing importance of a key trend in retail.

MosShoes also dedicated an increasingly strong focus to children’s footwear through MosShoes Kids, registering more than 100 footwear companies, of which 28 were new entries, for an increase of +17.4% over March 2018.

One more innovation of MosShoes was the Trend-Zone MS Fashion, organised jointly with the famous expert and fashion-video producer Andrey Abolenkin, presenting 5 key trends of the Fall/ Winter ‘19-20 season, with an ad hoc area created through tactile, visual, and audio components of the exposition, which was aimed at helping buyers better orient themselves in their purchases.

Last, but not least, there was the usual extremely rich programme of events dedicated to retail, which focused on especially relevant sector issues like marketing activities, merchandising, and human resources management. Just as important were the meetings dedicated to the mandatory labelling of shoes, discussed during the session of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the National Footwear Union. Finally, another significant event confirming the international scale of the exhibition was the Forum entitled “Creating conditions and promoting equal competition”, organised by MosShoes in collaboration with The Russian Union of Tanners and Shoemakers.

The next edition of MosShoes will be held from 12 to 15 March 2019, with a number of new proposals and a complete panorama onto the latest market trends.

L’edizione n. 88 di Pitti Bimbo si propone una volta di più come uno straordinario contenitore di idee e novità, una ‘surprise box’ da aprire di stagione in stagione, per raccontare in modo interessante e nuovo la moda e il lifestyle per bambini.

Guardando ai numeri dell’edizione alle porte, con oltre 550 collezioni, delle quali 360 provenienti dall’estero (63%), il Salone è pronto ad accogliere quasi 6.900 compratori e un totale di 10mila visitatori.

IFEMA, in collaborazione con la Federazione dell’industria spagnola della calzatura FICE, presenta un nuovo appuntamento dedicato alla calzatura ‘Made in Spain’ che farà il suo debutto dal 1 al 3 marzo, nella suggestiva cornice dal fascino post industriale de La N@ve di Madrid: parliamo di Shoesroom, Salone che - come preannuncia lo stesso nome - si propone al pubblico degli operatori con il format delle showroom. Un format che permette da un lato un investimento economico contenuto da parte delle aziende partecipanti, e dall’altro una proposta espositiva contemporanea ed omogenea, in grado di valorizzare il prodotto e l’intera collezione.

Shoesroom by Momad sarà un progetto innovativo e focalizzato su un prodotto di qualità, Made in Spain e con un’attenzione alla sostenibilità, e coinvolgerà sia marchi affermati, sia brand emergenti. L’obiettivo è di spingere l’acceleratore sui consumi interni, ma anche dare un respiro internazionale alla produzione calzaturiera spagnola, anche grazie ad azioni mirate di coinvolgimento dei buyer stranieri provenienti dai cinque continenti.

Shoesroom by Momad will be an innovative project focused on Made in Spain quality products, with an eye to sustainability, while involving both established and emerging brands.

The aim is to promote the purchase of Spanish footwear in the domestic market, while contributing to the internationalisation of Spanish footwear production, also thanks to activities aimed at involving foreign buyers coming from five continents.

FASHIOnAblE pROducTS And InnOvATIvE TEcHnOlOgIES Platform and meeting point for the leather and footwear industry in Morocco, the Morocco Leather and Shoe Fair will hold its 5th edition in Casablanca from 28 to 31 March 2019 at the OFEC. Organised by Pyramidis, the leading organiser of trade fair events in the Mediterranean Basin, from Turkey to Morocco, the event is a pure expression of the important role played by the sector of Moroccan leathers, footwear, and apparel, the products of which are destined for international markets and especially Europe.

The fair highlights thousands of innovative products: leathers and other raw materials, synthetic leathers, machinery for leather goods and footwear, and accessories and equipment, presenting them to an international public of importers and agents, distributors, department stores, owners of boutiques, and designers,

At the last edition of the Morocco Leather & Shoe Fair, which was held from 28 to 31 March 2018, 270 businesses coming from 10 different nations (with the Turkish, Chinese, Indian, Moroccan, and Czech Republic national collectives standing out in particular) inspired more than 13 thousand visitors coming from 22 different countries and especially the Mediterranean Basin, the Middle East, and Africa, but also Central Europe, the USA, and Brazil, thanks to their brand new product proposals and innovative technologies.

So, why is participation in this event so important? The organisers have no doubts: because it’s a unique occasion for companies to promote their specific abilities, meet up with commercial partners and source international brands.

Prossima edizione dal 19 al 22 marzo 2019, all’Expocentr di Mosca, con oltre 130 marchi che presenteranno le nuove collezioni invernali ai buyer dell’area russa.

La mostra, organizzata da Assocalzaturifici e da Fairsystem (società del gruppo Bolognafiere) coinvolgerà ancora una volta le sale 2,3,4,5 e 6 del padiglione 7 del quartiere Expocentr di Mosca, presentando le nuove collezioni per l’Autunno Inverno 2019/20, proposte da circa 130 marchi italiani (circa il 70% della rassegna), presenti su una superficie di 3mila metri quadrati netti espositivi. L’evento, che rappresenta la più importante rassegna dedicata alla calzatura medio-fine e fine in Russia, fondamentale per consolidare le relazioni con un mercato centrale per la calzatura italiana, attende anche a questo nuovo appuntamento oltre 8mila operatori commerciali in quattro giornate di manifestazione, in linea con l’edizione del 22 – 25 ottobre 2018. Si tratta di grossisti, agenti e distributori, catene di negozi e boutique provenienti da tutte le regioni della Federazione Russa, dalla Bielorussia, dall’Ucraina, dal Kazakistan e dall’Armenia. Anche l’edizione di marzo sarà arricchita da iniziative promozionali che Assocalzaturifici realizza in collaborazione con l’Ufficio ICE, l’Istituto del Commercio Estero di Mosca, con il coinvolgimento di delegazioni di buyer, aree lounge e ristorazione, campagne promozionali e serate di gala.

Nonostante il calo delle importazioni dall’Italia e le sanzioni che ancora penalizzano il mercato russo, questo resta centrale per la calzatura Made in Italy e la presenza del premier Giuseppe Conte alla scorsa edizione della manifestazione, ne è stata una conferma.

The show, organised by Assocalzaturifici and Fairsystem (from the Bolognafiere group) will once again fill Rooms 2,3,4,5 and 6 of Hall 7 at the Moscow Expocentre, presenting the new collections for Fall/Winter 2019-20 proposed by around 130 Italian brands (making up 70% of the event) in an exhibition area of 3 thousand net square metres. The exhibition, which represents the most important show dedicated to mid to high-end and luxury footwear in Russia and which is fundamental to cementing relations with a central market for Italian footwear, once again expects 8 thousand professional visitors to attend over the four days of the fair, for a turnout that will be in line with the last edition held from 22-25 October 2018. Wholesalers, agents and distributors, store chains and boutiques will arrive from all the regions of the Russian Federation, as well as from Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Armenia to attend.

The March edition will once again be enriched by the promotional initiatives that Assocalzaturifici realises in collaboration with the ICE Agency, the Italian Trade Promotion Agency in Moscow, with delegations of buyers, lounge and dining areas, ad campaigns, and gala evenings.

Notwithstanding the drop in Italian imports and the sanctions that continue to penalise the Russian market, this area continues to be of central importance to Made in Italy footwear and the presence of Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte at the last edition of the event is proof of this.

Italian export numbers to Russia, which were presented during the press conference organised on 23 October, confirm that in 2017, more than 6 million pairs of Italian footwear for a total value of 379 million euros were exported to Russia, while more than 161 million euros in value (for a drop of -8%), were recorded during the first six months of 2018. In the entire CIS area, Italian

Nell’intera area CSI, l’export italiano ha totalizzato un valore di 483 milioni di euro nel 2017, e ulteriori 212 milioni nel primo semestre 2018 (-5,3%).

“La Federazione Russa ha importato nei primi sette mesi calzature e pelletteria italiana per oltre 850mila euro al giorno, a ribadire una posizione che, sebbene seconda dopo il prodotto cinese, rappresenta la prima per l’alto di gamma per manifattura e qualità, con i nostri competitor distanziati di molto – ha affermato nell’occasione Pier Paolo Celeste, direttore di ICE Mosca –. Con un potere di acquisto in aumento, ci attendiamo un miglioramento ulteriore nelle vendite”.

Dopo Obuv Mir Koži di Mosca, Assocalzaturifici ha nuovamente accompagnato le aziende italiane su due dei mercati centrali del CSI, l’Ucraina e il Kazakistan, con una nuova edizione di Shoes From Italy. La prima tappa è stata al Rixos Hotel di Almaty dal 31 ottobre al 2 novembre scorso, per proseguire poi con Shoes From Italy Kiev, la settimana successiva, dal 7 all’8 novembre, all’Hyatt Regency Hotel della capitale ucraina.

After Obuv Mir Koži in Moscow, Assocalzaturifici once again accompanied Italian companies to the two central CIS markets of Ukraine and Kazakhstan, with a new edition of Shoes from Italy.

The first stopover was at the Almaty Rixos Hotel from 31 October to 2 November, followed by Shoes From Italy Kiev the week after, from 7 to 8 November, at the Ukraine capital’s Hyatt Regency Hotel.

cremento del 6,9% in valore. Nei primi sei mesi del 2018 l’export italiano calzaturiero verso il Kazakistan vale 11,4 milioni di euro pari a 192mila paia di calzature vendute.

Per quanto riguarda invece Shoes From Italy Kiev, il workshop b2b dedicato alle aziende calzaturiere e pellettiere ha svolto ancora una volta il suo ruolo di strumento principale di ingresso nel mercato ucraino per le piccole e medie imprese.

Anche qui hanno partecipato brand di riferimento del settore come Accademia, Alessandro Collection Italy, Angi & Angi, Bagatto, Camerlengo, Gianfranco Butteri, Gianni Renzi – Gianmarco Lorenzi, Giorgio Fabiani, GNV Giampiero Nicola, Kelton, Lab-Milano, Marino Fabiani, Mario Bruni, Nila & Nila, Pakerson, Repo/La Repo, Quarzovivo, Pianeta – Tine’s, Vittorio Virgili. Nel corso del workshop si è svolto inoltre un incoming di buyer che ha coinvolto una trentina di operatori provenienti dalle regioni circostanti.

Nel 2017 l’Italia ha esportato in Ucraina 652mila paia di calzature, registrando un incremento in quantità dello 0,6% rispetto al 2016. Nei primi sei mesi del 2018, l’export verso Kiev vale 22milioni di euro, pari a 338mila paia di calzature esportate.

I due eventi, ad Almaty e Kiev, si sono svolti in un momento non facile, la cui complessità è stata sottolineata da Marino Fabiani, consigliere responsabile per le attività della CSI di Assocalzaturifici: “Le tensioni valutarie hanno indebolito il potere d’acquisto dei consumatori. In Ucraina pesano le incertezze politiche prima del prossimo voto di marzo e per qualche mese non potremo aspettarci un trend particolarmente brillante negli acquisti.

In Kazakistan, la debolezza della valuta si riflette inevitabilmente in una stretta creditizia che condiziona la clientela; i dati, infatti, parlano di un leggero calo nelle esportazioni dell’1,1% in valore nei primi sei mesi del 2018. Si tratta però di due mercati estremamente importanti, rispettivamente il secondo ed il terzo per volume e valore dell’area. La nostra associazione proseguirà investendo per promuovere la calzatura made in Italy che continua a rappresentare un elemento di fortissima attrazione per i buyer del settore”.

The event has always played a very important role as a promotional hub for the entire Central Asian market, thanks to meticulous research and the selection of buyers coordinated in accordance with ICE Almaty. At this edition, 60 select buyers coming from the CIS area and all the provinces of Kazakhstan were also invited to participate.

Kazakhstan represents the area with the second highest GDP, right after Russia. In 2017, Italy exported 338 thousand pairs of shoes for a value of 24.8 million euros to this area, registering a +6.9% increase in value. During the first six months of 2018, Italian footwear exports to Kazakhstan were worth 11.4 million euros, which is the equivalent of 192 thousand pairs of shoes sold.

Instead, as far as Shoes From Italy Kiev is concerned, the B2B workshop dedicated to footwear and leather goods companies once again played its key role in acting as a main gateway onto the Ukrainian market for small and medium-sized businesses. Also here sector brands of reference participated, including Accademia, Alessandro Collection Italy, Angi & Angi, Bagatto, Camerlengo, Gianfranco Butteri, Gianni Renzi – Gianmarco Lorenzi, Giorgio Fabiani, GNV Giampiero Nicola, Kelton, Lab-Milano, Marino Fabiani, Mario Bruni, Nila & Nila, Pakerson, Repo/La Repo, Quarzovivo, Pianeta – Tine’s, and Vittorio Virgili. During the workshop, incoming services also attracted around thirty buyers from the surrounding regions, inviting them to participate.

In 2017, Italy exported 652 thousand pairs of shoes to Ukraine, recording an increase in quantity equal to +0.6% over 2016.

During the first six months of 2018, exports to Kiev were worth 22 million euros, for 338 thousand pairs of shoes exported.

The two events in Almaty and Kiev were held during what is an uneasy moment in the area, with the complexity of the situation underlined by Marino Fabiani, the councillor in charge of Assocalzaturifici’s activities in the CIS area: “Unstable currencies have weakened the purchasing power of consumers. In Ukraine, political uncertainties surrounding the upcoming elections in March have had negative repercussions, and over the next few months, we do not expect there to be particularly positive trends in purchases. In Kazakhstan, the weak exchange rate is inevitably reflected in the credit crunch conditioning clientele; statistics, in fact, show a slight drop in exports equal to -1.1% in value during the first six months of 2018. In any case, we are dealing with two extremely important markets, which are respectively the second and third most important for volume and value in the area. Our Association will continue to invest for the promotion of Made in Italy footwear, which continues to represent an extremely attractive element for sector buyers”.
