Sonoyo: free and rebellious AN ODE TO FREEDOM AND TO FINDING A WAY OF FIRMLY ASSERTING YOUR VERY OWN IDENTITY, WHILE REVAMPING THE ATMOSPHERES OF THE SEVENTIES: THIS IS THE PROPOSAL OF THE NEW SONOYO BAGS COLLECTION FOR SPRING-SUMMER 2022 In the new SS22 collection by Sonoyo, the ambience is that of the Seventies, with its spirit of freedom and a certain rebellious attitude that characterised those years of change, high-tech explosion, and the very first videogames. From this arrives a proposal that pays tribute to the individual freedom of each one of us, to the desire to show each one of us how we really are, with an identifying concept that is not immune to a certain amount of irreverence.

The bags of the new collection, strictly Made in Italy, blend iridescent, metalized, and rubbery materials with plays of full and empty volumes. Transparencies along with iconic graphic textures typical of the Seventies are matched with shocking colours like violet and orange, yellow, and fuchsia, which are combined in an unconventional way, giving life to three-tone bags with a strong visual impact conveyed by the contrasting ribs. Rubber and metalized suede are also enriched by frontal fringes, while the sponge returns in vogue, and heart-shaped textures decorate the by now iconic models: Era, the mini bag with dual handle and crossbody strap, and Stella, which is more spacious for those who love having everything they might need on hand. Playing around with the various apps, they offer an interchangeability idea that is quite striking: heart coin purses with zip and tags with messages and initials designed by graphic designer David Scarpantonio make the look of each person unique.

Ne deriva una proposta che inneggia alla libertà di ognuno, alla sua voglia di mostrarsi così come si è, con un concetto identitario non scevro da una certa irriverenza.

Le bags che esprime la nuova collezione, rigorosamente made in Italy, mixano materiali iridescenti, metallizzati e gommosi, con giochi di volumi pieni e vuoti. Trasparenze abbinate a texture grafiche iconiche dei Seventies che si abbinano a colori shock come il viola e l’arancione, il giallo, il fucsia, accostati in maniera non convenzionale, che danno vita anche a borse tricolore dal forte impatto visivo con coste a contrasto. Gomma e camoscio metallizzato si arricchiscono anche di frange frontali, la spugna torna ad essere un materiale di moda, e texture di cuori ornano i modelli ormai iconici: Era, la minibag con doppio manico a tracolla, e Stella, dalla capienza più grande per chi ama avere tutto con sé. Giocando con le molteplici apps, l’idea di intercambiabilità è più accattivante: cuori porta monete con zip, tag con messaggi e iniziali disegnate dal graphic designer David Scarpantonio, rendono identificativo il look della persona che lo indossa.

Art and fashion according to Louis Vuitton THE THIRD EDITION OF THE ARTYCAPUCINES COLLECTION CREATED BY THE MAISON IN COLLABORATION WITH SIX INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS HAS BEEN UNVEILED

The iconic bag of the maison (the name derives from Rue Neuve-des-Capucines, address of the first Parisian store opened in 1854) has been transformed again into a blank canvas, on which the artists have represented their own vision. Gregor Hildebrandt imagined his Capucines Bag in a black and white version, in printed and screen-printed leather using magnetic powder obtained from recording tapes and with the LV logo carved from vinyl records. Huang Yuxing proposes a lively imaginary landscape inspired by his painting "The Colossus Hidden in the Hills" and sports an unprecedented contrasting pink profile. The work for Louis Vuitton of the Italian artist Paola Pivi instead kicks off from her 2007 performance at the Kunsthalle in Basel and gives life to a bold bag, with an embroidered and overprinted leopard, while cups and saucers are hand inlaid with a precious gold leaf decoration. Donna Huanca was inspired by two of her paintings, "Cara de Fuego" and "Muyal Jol", for a moody bag in shades of blue with 3D printed images on white leather and hand embroidery. The model designed by Vik Muniz is a very colorful and over-decorated with 154 small parts in relief or inlaid, with delightful themes that recall holidays and travels. Zeng Fanzhi instead left everyone breathless, with the 700,000 embroidery stitches reproducing a reinterpretation of Van Gogh's iconic self-portrait which required the meticulous work of three highly skilled craftsmen and ten days to complete.

The models from the third Artycapucines collection are available in a limited edition of 200 pieces in Louis Vuitton stores around the world.

La borsa icona della maison (il nome deriva da Rue Neuve-des-Capucines, indirizzo del primo negozio parigino aperto nel 1854) si è trasformata di nuovo in tela bianca, su cui gli artisti hanno rappresentato la propria visione. Gregor Hildebrandt ha immaginato la sua Capucines Bag in versione bianco e nero, in pelle stampata e serigrafata con la polvere magnetica ricavata dai nastri di registrazione e il logo LV ritagliato da dischi di vinile. Huang Yuxing propone invece un paesaggio immaginario vivace ispirato al suo dipinto "The Colossus Hidden in the Hills" e vanta un inedito profilo rosa a contrasto. Zeng Fanzhi invece ha lasciato tutti senza fiato, con i 700.000 punti di ricamo che riproducono una rivisitazione dell’iconico autoritratto di Van Gogh che ha richiesto il lavoro meticoloso di tre artigiani altamente qualificati e dieci giorni per il suo completamento.

Pop irreverence with the Pasta bag NIKOLAS BENTEL TRANSFORMS A PACKAGE OF BARILLA PASTA INTO AN EXCITING AND IRREVERENT BAG, REACTING WITH HUMOUR TO THE RESTRICTIONS PUT IN PLACE BY THE PANDEMIC, WHILE REFLECTING ON HOW IT IS POSSIBLE TO INTERPRET THE ORDINARY WITH CREATIVITY In ‘62, Andy Warhol brazenly used the legendary Campbell Soup Can for his most famous serial work.

Today, the protagonists of the pop operation are Nikolas Bentel and Barilla pasta, which has been transformed into a fashion item. A package of penne by the well-known brand of Italian pasta is accordingly transformed into the Pasta Bag, a fashion accessory from which an exciting and bold energy irrupts. The designer, known for his often-humorous projects, came up with the idea while he was in lockdown, bored, and staring at the 100th package of penne he had cooked. Looking at it he literally said to himself, “fuck it, it’s a bag now!”. Said and done, the Barilla penne package became an exciting pop accessory, capable of electrifying the post-pandemic world. And the profanity has become his own personal slogan for launching it on his website nikolasbentelstudio.com.

Constructed from leather which has been printed on its surface using UV printing technology, the Pasta Bag was released in a limited edition of only 100 pieces, and it literally sold out like hotcakes. Not only was its humoristic content, typical of many of the projects of Nikolas Bentel (this is the third narrative project released) well liked, but above all it was appreciated for the amusing thought on how it is possible to create something exciting from the ordinary.

Una confezione di penne del noto marchio di pasta italiano si trasforma così nella Pasta Bag, un accessorio di moda da cui irrompe una carica eccitante e irriverente. L’idea è nata dalla noia del designer diventato celebre per le sue opere umoristiche che, chiuso in casa durante i giorni di pandemia, si è trovato a fissare la centesima delle confezioni di penne cucinate nella solitudine della sua cucina. Guardandola si è detto – letteralmente - “Fanculo, è una borsa!”. Detto, fatto: la confezione di penne Barilla è diventata così un accessorio eccitante e pop, capace di elettrizzare il mondo post pandemia. E l’esclamazione colorita è diventata il suo slogan di lancio sul sito nikolasbentelstudio.com.

Realizzata in pelle stampata mediante una stampa UV tecnologica, la Pasta Bag è stata rilasciata in limited edition di soli 100 pezzi ed è andata letteralmente a ruba. A piacere non è stato solo il suo contenuto umoristico, caratteristico di molti dei progetti di Nikolas Bentel (questo è il terzo dei suoi progetti narrativi), ma soprattutto una riflessione divertita sulla capacità di creare qualcosa di eccitante dalla quotidianità.

Created in 2020 by the Paris-based Spanish designer Bea Recoder, Studio Reco was founded with the goal of exploring a different path to making creative products, especially by using all the surplus materials and deadstocking and by researching alternative practices and improving craft techniques. With a special attention to colour nuances and textures, Reco uses patchwork-inspired techniques to assemble together bands of quality leather. Every limited edition bag is the result of a process that explores different possibilities to create the most organic shape with the available material. The result is an ode to the softness, the curves and the beauty of every woman’s body.

"Tutti frutti" is their new ss22 capsule collection introducing the new Mini Didi bag in four fresh and lively summer colours.

Creato nel 2020 a Parigi dalla designer spagnola Bea Recoder, Studio Reco è stato fondato con l'obiettivo di esplorare percorsi differenti nel realizzare prodotti moda, in particolare utilizzando i materiali in eccesso e le scorte di magazzino, ricercando pratiche alternative e migliorando le tecniche artigianali. Con un'attenzione speciale alle sfumature di colore e alle textures, Reco utilizza tecniche ispirate al patchwork al fine di assemblare insieme fasce di pelle di qualità. Ogni borsa in edizione limitata è il risultato di un processo che esplora diverse possibilità per creare la forma più organica con il materiale disponibile. Il risultato è un inno alla rotondità, alle curve e alla bellezza del corpo di ogni donna.

Zanellato celebrates ten years of Postina The iconic bag of reference for Italian luxury sartorial leather goods celebrates its tenth anniversary with a series of initiatives that would like to represent this timeless accessory for wearing, desiring, and above all treasuring. The first and most important is Woman Voices where ten women, who are all icons of our time, in video interviews speak about their roles in different fields of creativity, art and research, communication and fashion, with Postina, their faithful and silent companion always by their side when travelling. Acetate Renew™ is a type of acetate made from a blend of biobased plastic, obtained from wood pulp from sustainable sources and recycled materials recovered from industrial processes. The BioRay shaded lenses are instead made from biobased plastic derived from castor oil. The external case is likewise sustainable and made from a blend of biodegradable linen and cotton.

By taking a look at the extremely personal viewpoints of four global legends, the “Never Still” campaign of RIMOWA, which is proposed in a short film format, gives life to a new era of travel. Rimowa urges us to travel with a new spirit and new awareness alongside four exceptional brand ambassadors: the musical superstar Rihanna, the female icon of rock Patti Smith, pro basketball player LeBron James, and top tennis player Roger Federer. In the campaign conceived in collaboration with the creative agency Anomaly Berlin, each one of these stars offers a new perspective onto travel, which allows us to expand our horizons and once again finally return to the experience of travelling.

So, we have Rihanna who, directed by video maker Gary Sorrenti, goes into the desert in her Airstream camper in search of creativity. The journey of Patti Smith is instead an ode to movement as a search for “new pages for our story”. LeBron James instead accompanies us through a medley of snapshots of his shifting mindset towards a way of traveling internationally accompanied by the right kind of companions.

Federer, who was forced to cease his relentless pace during the pandemic, rediscovers slow traveling....

The faithful travel companions of the four protagonists are the luxury bags and suitcases of Rimowa: base models, which include the iconic ridged suitcase with aluminium details and leather handles, which is joined by essential items for urban mobility like backpacks, totes, suitcases, and messenger bags. Models not strictly connected to travel per se, but which nevertheless can kick off a new era for travel, while redefining the concept.

Taking its name from the crasis of "elle aime" ("she loves" in French), the brand was founded in 2015 in the heart of the Marais by Jingjing Fan, a degree in Finance and Strategy and a great passion for fashion. MIPEL121 is already in preparation mode SYNERGIES AND INNOVATION FOR THE REBIRTH OF MADE IN ITALY Assopellettieri confirms the positive signals from the market and renews its commitment to the sector by investing in wide-ranging partnerships, new tools and digital technologies.

Leather goods have been able to get back into the game and are now more ready than ever to definitely resume their place as a reference for Made in Italy excellence. A real rebirth after the crisis, which will also be celebrated at the 121st edition of MIPEL to be held from February 20 th to 22 nd 2022 at the Milano-Rho Exhibition center.

Three intense days focused on the new autumn-winter 2022-2023 collections, which will feature all the main brands and buyers in the sector, as well as a unique opportunity to create business opportunities and discuss the issues and problems of the sector and the entire fashion system.

With MIPEL121, Assopellettieri is aiming to replicate the great success of the 120 th edition held last September, which marked the resumption of the

physical show with a return of international buyers, also from Russia and the United States. It sanctioned the creation of important synergies with the other main fashion fairs, according to the #RestartTogether motto and the launch of innovative projects that the association now intends to consolidate and strengthen. A winning strategy that has led Assopellettieri and Assocalzaturifici to choose to make MIPEL and MICAM a joint exhibition also in 2022. The excellent results of the September edition (in three days of opening, a total of 22,274 operators met the offer of the 735 companies present at the fairs) and the good prospects for the future allow Assopellettieri to expand the space dedicated to the event, which will no longer occupy only the upper part of Hall 1 but also Hall 3. The official presentation of the trends for SS22 was also very well received, a strategic service made available to its members by Assopellettieri and organised by Fabio

Benassi, President of MIPEL Fashion Committee and Elisabetta Armellin, another member of the Fashion Committee. Strongly backed by Assopellettieri President Franco Gabbrielli, this committee is dedicated to supporting the association in special projects and partner companies in the creation of new collections. The trends developed for the coming season focus, now more than ever, on the unique values of Italian style. Colours and materials draw inspiration from the places and crafts that are at the origin of Italian history and know-how.

Also confirmed for next year is the second edition of MIPEL Lab, a project with two souls, conceived by Assopellettieri together with important partners: an online B2B platform dedicated to sourcing Italian leather goods and an innovative trade fair.

The B2B matchmaking platform, in collaboration with EY and with the support of the DS GROUP software house, was set up to bring together the best Italian leather goods producers and national and international luxury brands. It has already attracted the attention of important brands and manufacturers and is about to be officially launched next month. The new exhibition format dedicated to the

sourcing of leather goods was created in collaboration with and within Lineapelle and conceived to bring brands from all over the world in contact with leading Italian manufacturers. It was showcased in September and was met with great enthusiasm by both visitors and exhibitors and will therefore be repeated not only during the next Milan edition of Lineapelle on 22-24 February 2022, but also during its international events in New York, London and Shanghai.

“Mipel was a success and has confirmed itself as the ‘place to be’ for leather goods: international buyers returned to the stands and started buying again, further fuelling the feeling of confidence in the full recovery among professionals – commented Franco Gabbrielli, president of Assopellettieri – Now we need to show that we have learnt some important lessons from the crisis period. This means working as a system, both within the leather goods supply chain and with other fashion operators. This is why the synergies established with MICAM and Lineapelle will be strategic for the sector and we are sure that they will contribute to bringing our Made in Italy back to the levels that it deserves on an international level.”

Il nuovo format fieristico dedicato al sourcing pellettiero, realizzato in collaborazione e all'interno di Lineapelle e ideato per far incontrare i brand di tutto il mondo con il top dei produttori manifatturieri italiani, è stato accolto a settembre con estremo entusiasmo

sia dai visitatori che dagli espositori e sarà replicato, quindi, non solo durante la prossima edizione milanese di Lineapelle del 22-24 febbraio 2022, ma anche durante le sue tappe internazionali a New York, Londra e Shanghai.

The restart edition of ILM L'edizione della ripartenza di ILM DALLA FIERA, CHE SI È SVOLTA DAL 4 AL 6 SETTEMBRE DURING THE EXHIBITION, WHICH TOOK PLACE FROM 4TH TO 6TH SEPTEMBER IN OFFENBACH, AN EXCELLENT ATMOSPHERE A OFFENBACH, SEGNALANO UN'OTTIMA ATMOSFERA E BUONE OCCASIONI DI BUSINESS AND GOOD BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES WERE REPORTED

After 18 months of compulsory hiatus, the international leather goods fair "worked brilliantly in its restart", says Arnd Hinrich Kappe, managing director of Messe Offenbach, satisfied with the good attendance during the days of the fair. A total of 207 exhibitors welcomed visitors from 27 countries: the international percentage, despite travel restrictions linked to Covid, was almost 20%. Numerous buyers from England, France, Switzerland, Benelux, Spain and Italy, who used the fair to place orders for summer 2022. Dopo 18 mesi di pausa obbligata, la fiera internazionale della pelletteria "ha funzionato brillantemente nella sua ripartenza", afferma Arnd Hinrich Kappe, amministratore delegato di Messe Offenbach, felice della buona frequenza durante i giorni del salone. Un totale di 207 espositori hanno accolto visitatori provenienti da 27 Paesi: la percentuale internazionale, nonostante le restrizioni di viaggio legate al Covid, è stata quasi del 20%. Numerosi i buyer provenienti da Inghilterra, Francia, Svizzera, Benelux, Spagna e Italia, che hanno utilizzato la fiera per effettuare gli ordini per l'estate 2022. Oltre all'importante mercato europeo, erano presenti anche alcuni visitatori dalla Russia e dall'Asia. Oltre alle borse moda e alla piccola pelletteria, si sta riprendendo il segmento business e travel. Inoltre, il tema della sostenibilità è stato il focus di molti produttori, che si concentrano sempre più su tematiche green, del riciclo e dell'upcycling, rispettosi dell'ambiente e delle persone sia nel prodotto che nella filosofia aziendale.

Anche questa volta l'ILM ha offerto un ampio programma di supporto: le suggestive sfilate e un gran numero di talk interessanti hanno fornito agli operatori

del settore uno slancio per il business di domani. E durante l'Industry Talk di Offenbach, i partecipanti del commercio e dell'industria hanno discusso in diretta con la giornalista Gudrun Allstädt di temi attuali del settore come la crescente importanza della digitalizzazione. I visitatori hanno potuto sperimentare dal vivo la combinazione di mondo analogico e digitale al piano terra della fiera, dove presentazioni di prodotti o conferenze sono state mostrate su un'enorme parete a LED nel moderno studio OFF XR. Espositori e visitatori dell'ILM hanno anche sfruttato l'opportunità di scambiare idee anche nella nuova zona food truck nel cortile interno e nel moderno spazio di co-working nel padiglione B2. Inoltre, è stata presentata la prima edizione degli "XTRA Order Days" a Offenbach, che si svolgerà parallelamente alla Fashion Week dal 19 al 21 gennaio 2022. The first edition of Roma Jewelry Week is a success Un successo la prima edizione di Roma Jewelry Week A WELL-APPOINTED PROGRAMME OF EVENTS ENRICHED THE EVENT THAT SAW JEWELRY DESIGNERS COME FACE-TO-FACE WITH THEIR PUBLIC, WITH 130 CREATIONS ON DISPLAY IN NUMEROUS ATELIERS, CULTURAL SITES, AND GALLERIES IN THE AREA, WITH LIVE DEMONSTRATIONS AND WORKSHOPS The first event dedicated to jewelry, RJW, directed, curated, and conceived by Monica Cecchini, created and promoted by the Incinque Open Art Monti Gallery, with the co-curatorship of the master goldsmith Emanuele Leonardi and the jewelry historian Bianca Cappello, attracted to Rome a public of experts in the sector and enthusiasts who were able to enjoy the activities of the rich schedule and appreciate over 130 creations on show.

Among the initiatives, was an entire day of study organised by Dr. Lucia Ajello at the Central Institute of Intangible Heritage inside the National Museum of Arts and Popular accessible online and offline - promoted by OADI Osservatorio delle Arti Decorative in Italia, under the patronage of the Municipality of Rome, the New York Italian-American Chamber of Commerce, and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, which involved as speakers the most important university professors at the international level and experts of Roman goldsmithing. Ma soprattutto l’evento di punta della RJW: il Premio Incinque Jewels che ha valorizzato il gioiello d’autore internazionale incentrato sul tema “Gioia e ritorno alla convivialità” le cui opere vincitrici sono state esposte presso l’Auditorium Mecenate, sito storico del 30 aC gestito dalla Soprintendenza Capitolina. “Siamo molto felici dei risultati ottenuti, - ha dichiarato Monica Cecchini - la Roma Jewelry Week è un nuovo prestigioso appuntamento in presenza nel palinsesto delle attività culturali della Capitale. Thanks to all the companies for accepting the challenge A few months have passed since the end of “Simac Tanning Tech 2021”. And I can say that I am moderately satisfied with how the Fair took place, despite the general health conditions: my first thoughts go to the Italian and international companies that had “the courage to accept the challenge to restart from the event” together with us, Organisers of Simac Tanning Tech.

My greatest thanks go to them for showing their belief in the Organising Body, Assomac Servizi s.r.l., and in the value that Simac Tanning Tech represents for the worldwide manufacturing sectors of the Footwear, Leather Goods and Tannery industry, and related sectors.

I am thinking of the effort made for the digital evolution of the Fair: these are all seeds that we plant today, to see them flourish in the coming years. We did not make progress in the digital world for a “metoo” logic: we believe in the power of these innovations, as a support for the physical fair, in order to bring exhibitors together and not to lose them, but above all international buyers who, for reasons related to the pandemic were unable to come to Italy. If the world speaks this language, we must stay on the wave of innovation, to ensure a fair experience that is in step with the times and captivating for the younger generations, future workers and “makers” of these sectors.

I am thinking of the November Assembly held by the members of the ASSOMAC Association, of which I am president: we gathered all the representatives of the fashion industry around a round table to discuss the Digital and Green transition in production processes.

In this moment where we are considering a restart, at European and world level, even in the real difficulties that still persist, I believe that Simac Tanning Tech has important growth and improvement prospects ahead of it. Let’s broaden the horizons of possibilities and aim high!

Simac Tanning Tech must maintain and improve its position as a “reference point” for innovation, technology and “on-the market” solutions: we are working to expand the global network, welcoming all the “players” of the Innovation.

Companies first and foremost, by improving exposure and communication opportunities to attract more visitors; the world of Research and International Technology Centres because this sector is alive and an international level platform is needed, where full “technology transfer” can be implemented.

Networking that lasts all year round, collaborating with other trade fair bodies and events of international importance, so that the information flow does not stop and that the Fair can increasingly assume the role of catalyst and showcase of primary importance.

We expect a profitable 2022, a long race to get to the next “Simac Tanning Tech 2022” which we confirm for the month of September, consolidating our position at Fiera Milano.

Grazie a tutte le aziende per aver accettato la sfida Sono trascorsi alcuni mesi dalla conclusione di “Simac Tanning Tech 2021”. E posso dirmi moderatamente soddisfatta di come la Fiera si è svolta, nonostante le condizioni sanitarie generali: il mio primo pensiero va alle imprese italiane ed internazionali che hanno avuto “il coraggio di accettare la sfida di ripartire dalla manifestazione” insieme a noi, Organizzatori di Simac Tanning Tech. A loro va il mio più grande ringraziamento per aver dimostrato di credere nell’Ente Organizzatore, Assomac Servizi s.r.l., e nel valore che Simac Tanning Tech rappresenta per i comparti produttivi mondiali della Calzatura, della Pelletteria e della Conceria, nonché dei settori affini. Penso allo sforzo profuso per l’evoluzione digitale della Fiera: sono tutti semi che piantiamo oggi, per vederli fiorire nei prossimi anni. Non abbiamo fatto passi avanti nel mondo digitale per una logica “me-too”: crediamo nel potere che tali innovazioni possono avere, quale supporto alla fiera fisica, per avvicinare e non perdere espositori, ma soprattutto i buyer internazionali che, per i motivi legati alla Pandemia, non sono potuti venire in Italia. Se il mondo parla questa lingua, dobbiamo rimanere sull’onda dell’innovazione, per garantire un’esperienza di fiera al passo coi tempi e che sia accattivante per le giovani generazioni, futuri lavoratori e “maker” di questi comparti. Penso all’Assemblea di novembre dei Soci dell’Associazione ASSOMAC, di cui sono Presidente: abbiamo raccolto intorno ad una tavola rotonda tutti gli esponenti dell’industria della Moda per discutere della transizione Digitale e Green nei processi produttivi. In questo momento che consideriamo di ripartenza, a livello Europeo e mondiale, pure nelle difficoltà effettive che ancora permangono, sono convinta che Simac Tanning Tech abbia davanti a sé prospettive di crescita e miglioramento importanti. Allarghiamo gli orizzonti delle possibilità e puntiamo in alto!

Simac Tanning Tech deve mantenere e migliorare la propria posizione di “punto di riferimento” per l’innovazione, la tecnologia e le soluzioni “on-the market”: stiamo lavorando per allargare il network globale, accogliendo in Fiera tutti gli “attori” dell’Innovazione. Le imprese in primis, migliorando le possibilità di esposizione e la comunicazione per attrarre più visitatori; il mondo della Ricerca e i Centri tecnologici internazionali perché questo comparto è vivo ed è necessaria una piattaforma di livello internazionale, dove si possa attuare un pieno “trasferimento tecnologico”. Un networking che duri tutto l’anno, collaborando con altri enti fieristici ed eventi di rilievo internazionale, in modo tale che il flusso informativo non si fermi e che la Fiera possa assumere sempre più il ruolo di catalizzatore e vetrina di primaria importanza.

Ci aspetta un 2022 proficuo, una lunga corsa per arrivare alla prossima “Simac Tanning Tech 2022” che confermiamo per il mese di settembre, consolidando la nostra posizione in Fiera Milano.

"Last September’s Simac Tanning Tech (STT) marked the beginning of a new era,” says Roberto Vago, director of Assomac, the Association of Italian Manufacturers of Footwear, Leather Goods and Tanning Technologies, which organised the event. The Director continues, “it was a courageous edition, the first to be held with the physical presence of the entire supply chain - Micam, Mipel, Lineapelle – and that sent out a strong signal regarding the desire of the entire industry to restart and, ROBERTO VAGO, DIRECTOR OF ASSOMAC for Italy, to continue to want to be an international leader.” If in the past these events were moments of meeting, today, in the case of STT, they are also important moments of information regarding the different technological evolutions, both in terms of the product and process. “This is a crucial issue that both politics and companies must consider. Today, it is no longer enough to offer the market reliable, high-quality individual technologies, we need certified systems that, thanks to digital innovation, are increasingly capable of ensuring the measurability and traceability of production processes. The issue of the future, which we must start preparing ourselves for, will involve being able to define with certainty, certification and security where and how a product is born, what its life cycle is, and what its sustainability prospects will be at the end of its life.”

Sustainability is increasingly the key issue: what implications does this have for the industry?

“It is predicted that 9.5 billion people will inhabit the Earth by 2050. Obviously, the number of shoes and fashion accessories will grow accordingly and will grow regardless of whether we make them beautiful or ugly.

Consumption will rise, particularly in the fashion and food industries. The key is to optimise production complexes and, therefore, obtain quality products with lower waste, reduced energy consumption and above all, with a limited use of resource.

From the point of view of our companies, however, I would say that the fair marked the evident presence of a selected number of customers looking for technical solutions (and not only) for all-round sustainability.

Furthermore, it should be noted that leather is no longer the only vital element in the industry’s production cycle, but one of the many materials used in the supply chain. For a variety of reasons, including the price, which has almost doubled in the last six months compared to the period at the beginning of the pandemic, when it had fallen to an all-time low. It will be important for us to keep the focus on this material, but also to open ourselves to alternatives.”

Continua il direttore: “È stata un'edizione coraggiosa, la prima svoltasi in presenza insieme a tutta la filiera – Micam, Mipel, Lineapelle – e che ha lanciato un forte segnale riguardo la voglia dell’intero comparto di ripartire e, per l'Italia, di continuare a voler giocare un ruolo di riferimento internazionale”. Se in passato questi eventi erano momenti di incontro, oggi, nel caso di STT, sono anche importanti momenti di informazione riguardo le differenti evoluzioni tecnologiche, sia di prodotto che di processo. “Un tema cruciale che sia la politica sia le imprese devono tenere al centro delle loro riflessioni.

Oggi non basta più proporre al mercato singole tecnologie affidabili e di qualità, ma servono sistemi certificati che, grazie all’innovazione digitale, siano sempre più in grado di assicurare misurabilità e tracciabilità dei processi produttivi. Il tema del futuro, a cui prepararsi fin da ora, riguarderà il poter definire in modo certo, certificato e sicuro dove e come nasce un prodotto, qual è il suo ciclo di vita, e quali saranno le sue prospettive di sostenibilità a fine vita”.

La sostenibilità è sempre più il tema chiave: quali conseguenze comporta per il settore?

“Nel 2050 è previsto che 9,5 miliardi di persone abiteranno la Terra. Ovviamente il numero delle calzature e degli accessori moda crescerà di conseguenza e crescerà indipendentemente dal fatto che noi le si faccia belle o brutte. I consumi lieviteranno, in particolare nel settore moda e in quello alimentare. Ottimizzare i complessi produttivi e, quindi, ottenere prodotti di qualità con scarti più bassi, consumi energetici contenuti, e soprattutto con un limitato utilizzo delle risorse, credo sia una delle scommesse più importanti.

Dal punto di vista delle nostre imprese, invece, direi che la fiera ha segnato l'evidente presenza di un numero selezionato di clienti alla ricerca di soluzioni tecniche (e non solo) per la sostenibilità a 360°. Inoltre, va segnalato come la pelle non sia più l'unico elemento vitale all'interno del ciclo produttivo del settore, bensì uno dei tanti materiali utilizzati dalla filiera. Per tutta una serie di ragioni, fra cui il prezzo che negli ultimi sei mesi è quasi raddoppiato rispetto al periodo di inizio pandemia, quando era sceso ai minimi storici. Per noi sarà importante mantenere alta l’attenzione su questo materiale, ma anche aprirci ad alternative”.

Come deve cambiare il modello produttivo per adattarsi al mutato scenario?

“La Cina, che siamo stati abituati a chiamare ‘la fabbrica del mondo’, oggi si propone come costruttrice di soluzioni. Ha deciso di creare dei propri standard qualitativi interni ed esportare questi suoi modelli nel mondo. Ciò comporta delle conseguenze sia sul mercato interno cinese, sia sui Paesi che la Cina è in grado di influenzare – penso all'Africa, per esempio. Se, fino a oggi, la normazione in materia è stato uno dei temi che ci ha visti primeggiare a livello internazionale, e ci ha visti protagonisti nel definire sia gli standard di sicurezza, sia gli standard di qua-

How should the production model change in order to adapt to the changed scenario?

“China, which we have been accustomed to calling ‘the factory of the world,’ is now proposing itself as a builder of solutions. It has decided to create its own internal quality standards and export these models to the world. This has consequences both on the Chinese domestic market and on the countries that China is able to influence – such as Africa for example. If, until now, standardisation in this field has been one of the issues that has seen us excel at an international level, and has seen us as protagonists in defining both safety and quality standards, the new Chinese course could undermine our leadership and, by exploiting regulatory dumping, raise new barriers not only against Italy, but also against the whole of Europe. The Chinese have announced that the new ‘Made in China’ will become operational in 2025. Practically tomorrow morning. This is much shorter than the 12 years it took us to metabolise the REACH regulations. When that happens, Italian-made products risk being put in considerable difficulty.

I cinesi hanno annunciato che il nuovo made in China diverrà operativo nel 2025. Praticamente domani mattina. Tempi ben più stretti rispetto ai 12 anni che noi abbiamo impiegato per metabolizzare i regolamenti Reach. Quando accadrà, il made in Italy rischia di essere messo notevolmente in difficoltà.

Ecco perché ASSOMAC ha ripensato il messaggio che vuole trasmettere al mercato. Non più solo made in Italy, ma un più completo “made with Italian technology”. È il mantra che abbiamo inserito nel nuovo sito associativo, spostando il focus dal prodotto al processo.

Per rispondere alla domanda iniziale: dobbiamo trasformarci da produttori di macchine a produttori di sistemi. Sistemi integrati in grado di fornire un servizio unico, innovativo e completo a chi li adotta. Rendere più articolata, complessa e completa l’offerta tecnologica italiana, coinvolgendo la filiera a monte e a valle, è l’unico modo per non soccombere. Rimanere semplici costruttori di macchine ci espone troppo al rischio di venire schiacciati dalla concorrenza asiatica”.

To answer the initial question: we must transform ourselves from machine manufacturers to system manufacturers. Integrated systems capable of providing a unique, innovative and complete service to their users. The only way to avoid losing out is to make the Italian technological offer more articulated, complex and complete, involving the upstream and downstream supply chain. Remaining mere machine manufacturers exposes us too much to the risk of being crushed by Asian competition.”

How will STT transform itself to meet the changing market?

“I believe and hope it can be a meeting point not only for traditional technology. I hope it will become an inclusive trade fair, capable of broadening its horizons to include neighbouring themes and industries that help our industry to grow and develop. We will be focusing on the ‘phygital’ model, given that more and more operators will only move in response to specific needs: a digital and physical mix that will have to be reinvented, as there is no predefined model. Using new tools, after all, is the only way to continue to play a leading role in the markets. It is no longer enough to just pick up your briefcase and go, we must equip ourselves with new solutions that can serve our interlocutors in the best possible way.”

What aspects must Italian companies take into account in order to remain market leaders?

“There are essentially two. The first is the age aspect. Today, those who guide, manage and develop new production systems and models have an average age of less than thirty, especially in Asian countries. People with digital skills that are completely different from those who dealt with the same issues in Europe even just a few years ago. Taking this into account should make Italian companies reflect on the human resources to be involved in their companies.

The second aspect is not to take our leadership in the industry for granted. We are good at creating technological solutions, but we must, day after day, again and again, continue to maintain this leadership by focusing on digital technology and sustainability, the two themes at the heart of the new evolution and transformation of production systems of any kind.”

Not having the size of Chinese companies, our companies will have to learn to collaborate: do you think that Italy is ready to overcome the usual individualism?

“I believe it’s a one-way street: either we get together – and the formulas can be varied – or no one is saved. There is a word, which has been abused lately that puzzles me: ‘resilience.’ According to my technical training, the word ‘resilience’ is used to determine the physical characteristic of a product: its ability to adapt to the conditions in which it finds itself. In shape-memory materials, adaptation then implies a return to its original shape or condition. In my opinion, this is the negative part of the term that it would not be fair to apply to our industry. If, on the one hand, our companies have proved to be very resilient, because they have adapted to the environmental conditions of the pandemic, on the other hand, I would urge them not to believe that they have to go back to how and where they were before Covid. I’m afraid that would be a very big mistake. It’s a one-way street that we have taken: we have gone down it for a thousand reasons – and we could argue for hours about who is to blame rather than who is responsible – the fact is that we can no longer afford to go down this path backwards, we just have to move forward and take advantage of the opportunities for evolution that are offered to us.”

Come si trasformerà STT per andare incontro alla trasformazione del mercato?

“Credo e mi auguro possa essere un punto d'incontro non solo per la tecnologia tradizionale. Spero diventerà una fiera inclusiva, capace di allargare i propri orizzonti anche a tematiche e settori limitrofi che aiutino la crescita e lo sviluppo del nostro comparto. Il modello su cui punteremo è quello phygital, visto che sempre di più gli operatori si muoveranno solo a fronte di specifiche necessità: un mix digitale e fisico che andrà reinventato, non esistendo un modello pregresso già definito. Avvalersi di nuovi strumenti, del resto, è l’unico modo per continuare a presidiare ed essere protagonisti sui mercati. Non basta più prendere la propria valigetta e partire, bisogna dotarsi di nuove soluzioni capaci di servire al meglio i nostri interlocutori”.

Di quali aspetti devono tenere conto le imprese italiane per restare protagoniste del mercato?

“Essenzialmente due. Il primo è l’aspetto anagrafico. Oggi chi dirige, gestisce e sviluppa nuovi sistemi e modelli produttivi ha un'età media, soprattutto nei paesi del Far East, inferiore ai trent'anni. Persone dalle capacità digitali completamente diverse da chi si occupavo delle medesime questioni in Europa anche solo qualche anno fa. Tenerne conto dovrebbe far riflettere le aziende italiane sulle risorse umane da coinvolgere nelle proprie imprese.

Il secondo aspetto è non dare per scontata la nostra primazia nel settore.

Siamo bravi a realizzare soluzioni tecnologiche, ma dobbiamo, giorno per giorno, ancora e di nuovo conquistarci il primato che ci compete, puntando su digitale e sostenibilità, i due temi al centro della nuova evoluzione e trasformazione dei sistemi produttivi di qualsiasi tipo”.

Non avendo le dimensioni delle aziende cinesi, le nostre imprese dovranno imparare a collaborare: pensa che in Italia si sia pronti a superare il consueto individualismo?

“Io credo sia una strada a senso unico: o ci si mette insieme - e le formule possono essere varie - o nessuno si salva da solo. C’è una parola, di cui si è abusato ultimamente, che mi lascia perplesso: ‘resilienza’.

Secondo la mia formazione tecnica, la parola resilienza viene utilizzata per determinare la caratteristica fisica di un prodotto: la sua capacità di adattarsi alle condizioni in cui si trova. Nei materiali a memoria di forma, l’adattamento implica poi un ritorno alle sue condizioni di partenza.

Questa, secondo me, è la parte negativa del termine che non sarebbe giusto applicare al nostro settore. Se dal punto di vista della reattività le nostre imprese si sono dimostrate molto resilienti, perché si sono adattate alle condizioni ambientali della pandemia, d’altro canto le invito a non credere di dover tornare a come e dove erano prima del Covid. Temo sarebbe un gravissimo errore. È una strada a senso unico quella che abbiamo imboccato: vi ci siamo inoltrati per mille ragioni - e potremmo discutere per ore di chi siano le colpe piuttosto che le responsabilità - il dato di fatto è che non possiamo più permetterci di ripercorrere questo sentiero a ritroso, dobbiamo solo andare avanti e cogliere le possibilità evolutive che ci vengono offerte”.

In 2020, apart from the pandemic period, the Italian industry of tannery, footwear and leather goods machinery maintained a production TAIWAN of € 440 million, with an export value equal to approximately 70% of 96.604 production and a trade balance of € 284.2 million.

A decline 38.749 that reflects the international difficulties, given that the consideration given for the entire world market saw a decrease from 1,035,287 million to 791,621 million euro.

SIMAC TANNING TECH 2021 exceeded expectations THANKS TO THE PRESENCE OF WORLD PRODUCERS OF THE BEST TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE MANUFACTURING, AUTOMOTIVE AND FASHION SECTORS, THE INTERNATIONAL EVENT INTENDED TO BE A DRIVING FORCE FOR THE RECOVERY OF THE ENTIRE SECTOR. THE NEXT DATES OF SEPTEMBER 2022 HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED The SIMAC TANNING TECH edition was correctly defined as a ‘proud’ edition, which ended on 24 September at Fiera Milano Rho. Proud to have marked the restart of the manufacturing sector of manufacturers and suppliers of technologies for the fashion - footwear, leather goods and tanning industry.

Exhibitors and visitors confirmed that the 2021 edition was “above expectations”. Thanks to the digital support system for the Fair, created through the dedicated APP, the number of accreditations was shortly below 5,000 users between physically attending and online buyers, of which 1/3 foreigners, from 50 countries.

The importance of the event was highlighted by the support of the Italian institutions, well aware of the central importance of restarting the driving force of the economy in such a complex historical moment. In fact, during the inauguration of the event, in addition to Maria Vittoria Brustia, president of the event and Assomac (the National Association of Manufacturers of Footwear, Leather goods and Tannery Technologies), also Manlio Di Stefano, Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Guido Guidesi, Councilor for Economic Development of the Lombardy Region, and Carlo Maria Ferro, president of the ICE Agenzia took the floor.

The average of the participants’ opinions revealed how important it was to be present during the three days of the event and not to miss the SIMAC TANNING TECH appointment. The physically present visitors were all concretely interested in learning about the innovative solutions proposed and ask for more technical information about the latest technologies related to automation and digitisation, safety and environmental performance improvement. Maybe simple curious visitors were less than usual, but there were many more real opportunities to conclude business: “Given the difficult time, those who moved and travelled to come to the fair did so because they were really interested in concluding important deals to innovate the structure and processes of their own company, in view of the restart”, this is one of the most common comments among the stands.

The 2021 edition of SIMAC TANNING TECH also benefitted from the results of the important investments made, in favour of both visitors and exhibitors, to develop the “Simac Tanning Tech 2021” APP. A tool, which is still active and usable today, aimed at facilitating business interactions between the players in the sector. The numbers recorded are good: more than 33,000 messages exchanged for information requests and contacts between buyers and exhibitors; a total of 28,000 pages viewed on the APP itself; 351 companies added in the ‘Favorites’ section; 11,800 searches by company name or keywords.

The uncertainties and restrictions due to the health emergency have limited the usual presence of buyers from some countries (especially SouthEast Asia), but the event has not denied its international relevance, also thanks to the remote participation of Technology and Research Centres

that took part in the Assomac TALKS. The leading exponents of ten international technology centers and innovation poles took part in three “Digital Round Tables”, bringing their contribution and demonstrating the need for a reference and sharing platform for the latest technological innovations, such as Simac Tanning. Tech.

ASSOMAC has also continued its commitment towards sustainability, increasing its “ASSOMAC Forest”: a project born in the 2020 edition of the event and which currently has 700 plants in a forest in Madagascar, through the project developed with Treedom.

The plants were donated to the partners of Assomac, an action to compensate for CO2 emissions in favour of the sector’s sustainability in which ASSOMAC operates.

The next international exhibitions of machinery and technologies for the footwear, leather goods and tanning industries are confirmed and will be held from 21 to 23 September 2022, again at Fiera Milano Rho.

SIMAC TANNING TECH 2021 ha superato le aspettative LA MANIFESTAZIONE INTERNAZIONALE, GRAZIE ALLA PRESENZA DEI PRODUTTORI MONDIALI DELLE MIGLIORI TECNOLOGIE PER IL SETTORE MANIFATTURIERO, AUTOMOTIVE E MODA, HA INTESO PUNTARE A ESSERE UN VOLANO PER LA RIPRESA DELL’INTERO COMPARTO. CONFERMATE LE PROSSIME DATE DI SETTEMBRE 2022 È stata definita, a ragione, un’edizione ‘orgogliosa’ quella di SIMAC TANNING TECH che si è chiusa lo scorso 24 settembre, a Fiera Milano Rho. Orgogliosa di aver segnato la ripartenza del comparto manifatturiero dei costruttori e fornitori di tecnologie per l’industria della Moda - calzaturiera, pellettiera e conciaria.

Espositori e visitatori hanno confermato che l’edizione 2021 è stata “al di sopra delle aspettative”. Grazie al sistema di supporto digitale alla Fiera, realizzato tramite la APP dedicata, i numeri degli accrediti sono stati di poco inferiore ai 5.000 utenti tra visitatori e buyer in presenza e on-line, di cui 1/3 stranieri, provenienti da 50 Paesi.

L’importanza della manifestazione è stata sottolineata dal sostegno delle istituzioni italiane ben consapevoli della centrale importanza di far ripartire il volano dell’economia in un momento storico così complesso. Infatti, durante l’inaugurazione dell’evento, hanno preso la parola, oltre alla Presidente della manifestazione e di Assomac (l’Associazione Nazionale costruttori tecnologie per calzature, pelletteria e conceria) Maria Vittoria Brustia, anche il Sottosegretario di Stato al Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale Manlio Di Stefano, l’Assessore allo Sviluppo Economico della Regione Lombardia, Guido Guidesi, e il Presidente dell’Agenzia ICE, Carlo Maria Ferro.

La media dei giudizi dei partecipanti ha rilevato come sia stato importante essere presenti durante i tre giorni di manifestazione e non mancare all’appuntamento di SIMAC TANNING TECH. I visitatori intervenuti si sono rivelati tutti concretamente interessanti a conoscere le soluzioni innovative proposte e chiedere maggiori informazioni tecniche in merito alle ultime tecnologie legate all’automazione e alla digitalizzazione, alla sicurezza e al miglioramento delle performance ambientali. Forse qualche semplice curioso in meno, ma molte più opportunità reali di concludere affari: “Visto il momento difficile, chi si è spostato e ha viaggiato per venire in fiera lo ha fatto perché veramente interessato a concludere affari importanti per innovare struttura e processi della propria azienda, in vista della ripartenza”, questo uno dei commenti più comuni fra gli stand.

L’edizione 2021 di SIMAC TANNING TECH si è giovata anche dei risultati degli importanti investimenti effettuati, a beneficio sia dei visitatori che degli espositori, per sviluppare l’APP “Simac Tanning Tech 2021”. Uno strumento, ancora oggi attivo e fruibile, teso ad agevolare le interazioni di business fra gli attori del settore. Buoni i numeri registrati: più di 33.000 messaggi scambiati per richieste di informazioni e di contatti tra buyer ed espositori; un totale di 28.000 pagine visualizzate sull’APP stessa; 351 le aziende aggiunte nella sezione ‘Preferiti’; ben 11.800 le ricerche per nome azienda o parole chiave.

Le incertezze e le restrizioni dovute all’emergenza sanitaria hanno limitato la consueta presenza di buyer provenienti da alcuni Paesi (soprattutto il Sud-Est Asiatico), ma la manifestazione non ha smentito la sua rilevanza internazionale, grazie anche alla partecipazione da remoto dei Centri Tecnologici e di Ricerca che hanno preso parte agli Assomac TALKS. Gli esponenti di spicco di dieci centri tecnologici e Poli di Innovazione internazionali hanno infatti partecipato a tre “Tavole Rotonde Digitali”, portando il loro contributo e dimostrando la necessità di una piattaforma di riferimento e di condivisione delle ultime innovazioni tecnologiche, quale può essere Simac Tanning Tech.

ASSOMAC ha inoltre continuato il suo impegno per la sostenibilità, incrementando la propria “Foresta ASSOMAC”: un progetto nato nell’edizione 2020 della manifestazione e che ad oggi conta 700 piante in una foresta in Madagascar, tramite il progetto sviluppato con Treedom.

Le piante sono state donate ai partner di Assomac, un’azione di compensazione delle emissioni di CO 2 a favore della Sostenibilità del comparto in cui ASSOMAC opera.

I prossimi Saloni internazionali delle macchine e delle tecnologie per le industrie calzaturiera, pellettiera e conciaria sono confermati e si terranno dal 21 al 23 settembre 2022, sempre a Fiera Milano Rho.

È fondamentale che il settore della moda faccia squadra per valorizzare il Made in Italy e la nostra filiera, puntando su innovazione e sostenibilità, e difendendola dalle aggressioni dei grandi gruppi stranieri. È quello che sto cercando di fare anche tramite il mio ruolo di delegato di Confindustria: promuovere la bellezza e l’eccellenza italiana. Sono convinto che con tutto ciò che abbiamo a disposizione potremo essere uno dei Paesi più importanti per il mondo del futuro”.

Di pari passo, dovremo attuare il Piano nazionale di ripresa e resilienza nei tempi stabiliti, per cogliere al meglio un’imperdibile occasione di sviluppo, anche grazie a riforme non più rinviabili e che il nostro Paese aspetta da ormai troppo tempo.

Dalla Tavola Rotonda - che ha visto dialogare Carlo Alberto Carnevale Maffè (professore SDA Bocconi), Ercole Botto Poala (Vicepresidente di Confindustria Moda), Elenia Duce (Head of Innovation, Sustainability & Innovation di RINA), Stefano Gelsomini (COO di Conceria Pasubio), Cristian Locatelli (Vicepresidente di ACIMIT) e Gianmarco Senna, Presidente Commissione Attività Produttive di Regione Lombardia - cogliamo giusto un paio di spunti.

“La sfida green e digitale non è urgente perché lo dice Greta – dichiara Carlo Alberto Carnevale Maffè – ma perché è il mercato a pretendere ormai una svolta sostenibile. Una svolta che si deve perseguire implementando gli strumenti digitali nella filiera produttiva così da poter tracciare fin dall’inizio la vita di un prodotto e poter poi fissare gli standard di ciò che è definibile come prodotto sostenibile. Essere in grado di definire gli standard, senza lasciare che lo faccia la Cina, per esempio, e poter dimostrare di rispettarli, è l’unica via per governare il mercato”.

Sul tema si pronuncia anche Ercole Botto Poala: “Il problema attuale è che la partita della sostenibilità si sta giocando senza arbitro, senza che alcuno sappia esattamente cosa significhi e comporti l’essere sostenibili. Oggi potrei prendere centinaia di certificazioni senza avere la certezza di percorrere la strada giusta”.

Tanti i temi e le riflessioni poste sul tavolo dell’Assemblea Assomac 2021, sfide a cui risponde bene l’incitamento della Presidente Brustia: “Durante questo difficile periodo non ci siamo fermati e abbiamo continuato a reinventarci. The new Assomac logo, the renewed web portal and the EU Collective Mark A new communication and style approach for the association representing the Italian manufacturers of footwear, leather goods and tannery technologies, to be open to changes in the international supply chains of the fashion industry. The aim is to promote a new positioning, to strengthen Assomac’s role as a sector reference at international level in manufacturing technologies for the fashion, automotive and furniture sectors. Assomac is also transformed from an Associative Trademark to a European Collective Mark, an important recognition that will be a distinctive element of the products and services of the Association and its members.

The renewal process has also led to the creation of a new “communication platform”, with more content accessible to users and a system that aims to facilitate the meeting between associated companies and customers. Inside there is also space for sector news from the world, economic and statistical information from the Assomac Study Centre, and a large space reserved for Members to tell their stories.

Il fine è quello di promuovere un nuovo posizionamento, per rafforzare il ruolo di Assomac quale riferimento di settore a livello internazionale nelle tecnologie per il manifatturiero per i settori moda, automotive ed arredamento. Assomac si trasforma inoltre da Marchio Associativo a Marchio Collettivo Europeo, un importante riconoscimento che sarà elemento distintivo dei prodotti e dei servizi dell’Associazione e dei propri associati. Il percorso di rinnovamento ha portato anche alla realizzazione di una nuova “piattaforma di comunicazione”, con più contenuti fruibili agli utenti e un sistema che punta a favorire l’incontro tra le imprese associate e i clienti. Genuine leather products will age beautifully with time. They can change colour and get a character of their own during normal use, but if you take care of your Leather product, it will last a lifetime. For example, a well-crafted handbag will look better over time and last beyond the expected lifetime it is normally designed for.

Creating leather products is as relevant today as it was 1000 years ago. Leather is one of man’s earliest and most useful discoveries. Our ancestors used leather to protect themselves from the elements. Primitive man hunted wild animals for food, then made clothing, footwear and crude tents from the hides.

Like then, most hides used are a by-product of the meat industry.

Animals are commercially farmed for the meat and dairy; offer ing by-products like hides/skins, wool and feathers. It is amazing that you can take what used to be a waste product and make it a useful and beautiful material which morphed into a fashionable, sought-after essential. In the leather industry, the financial value of hides and skins is not big enough for someone to keep animals for the leather only. The hides and skins are not the determining product. Manufacturing a high-quality and sustainable product from them is in fact a service to society.

We need to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and all things plastic made from them. Renewable raw materials that come from natural origins like leather are vital. Products must be made with aftercare, repair and refurbishment in mind as long product life is one of the biggest savings of virgin material and emissions.

Ostrich farmers associated with Cape Karoo must comply with 5 basic animalcare freedoms: 1. Freedom from hunger or thirst - All animals must have easy access to clean drinking water and should be provided with a balanced, appropriate diet to suit their needs.

2. Freedom from discomfort - An appropriate environment must be created that includes ample space, shelter and a comfortable resting area where needed.

3. Freedom from pain, injury or disease - The health of the birds must be monitored continuously so that prevention, rapid diagnosis and treatment can be provided.

4. Freedom to express normal behaviour - An atmosphere must be created that mimics the birds’ natural habitat as closely as possible, which includes enough space and company of the animal’s own kind.

5. Freedom from fear and distress - Provision of an environment conducive to behaviour which does not lead to conditions of fear and distress.

Knowing how to treat, enhance and make the most of a material is the basis for creating beautiful, functional and prestigious products. Cape Karoo International knows this well and therefore is proud to continue the important work done by the SAOBC with ARSUTORIA school for the past 10 years in promoting the qualities and characteristics of ostrich leather at the famous Milanese school of young fashion accessories designers and model makers.

For students, it is an excellent training opportunity to have at their disposal valuable ostrich skins from CKI to study and learn about with a view to developing a small collection of shoes and bags. Infact, in the factory inside the school, they were able to learn how to treat ostrich leathers from CKI, to discover their main features, as well as learning how to use them.

Infatti, nella fabbrica interna alla scuola, hanno potuto imparare a trattare la pelle di struzzo di CKI, a scoprirne le caratteristiche principali e a usarle correttamente per realizzare un prototipo o per qualsiasi altra produzione industriale.

Creativity & innovation made in LABAM Creatività & innovazione made in LABAM THE COMPANY BASED IN MONTECHIARUGOLO (PARMA), INITIALLY A BUTTON FACTORY FOUNDED IN 1949, HAS GRADUALLY EXPANDED ITS PRODUCTION OF EXCELLENCE TO COVER THE ENTIRE SECTOR OF FASHION ACCESSORIES Currently, LABAM’s production includes components for bags such as shoulder straps, fasteners, buckles, chains, hooks, links, buttons and accessories for clothing, components and small parts for costume jewellery and embroidery, as well as footwear accessories such as clamps, plates, decorations. The originality of the products combined with careful research into new trends and colours and the high quality production have enabled the company to work for some of the most important griffes in the Italian and international fashion industry.

We had the opportunity to chat with the owner Matteo Cavalca, who told us how the company has experienced and is still navigating this extremely challenging historical period.

How have you worked over the past year and a half and how have you organised your company?

This crisis caused by the pandemic has certainly destabilised the world market, and our sector has been one of the hardest hit. In those first months of uncertainty, during which we prioritised the health of all our employees, customers and suppliers, we never lost sight of our projects, deciding to develop new attractive designs for our accessories, which we will present as soon as the industry returns to its pre-Covid vigour. We took advantage of the quieter months by going against the trend: taking advantage of the “forced slowdown” to invest in the factory for example by renovating two of our warehouses.

What are the most important challenges you are facing?

The restart has had and is still having its ups and downs (however, we continue to work with our regular customers, and also with new one, meeting their difficulties in suddenly having to close their stores or limit their opening hours all over the world).

We believe that we still have to wait a few more months before the general situation finally starts to get better. We are developing many new projects which are already giving us a lot of satisfaction.

How important is technological innovation and research in your work?

Traditionally innovators, for more than 70 years our goal has been the future and looking forward with lots of ideas. Research is fundamental for us, it has always been our strength and we have never stopped. We have several professionals on our staff dedicated to R&D and we periodically get together to brainstorm so that we can develop new concepts that allow us to increase our range of products and keep it up to date.

How do you deal with sustainability?

This topic, which is very hot at the moment, is something we have been working on for decades. We have always been environmentally aware, and at the end of the 70s we took the opportunity of moving to our current headquarters in Basilicagoiano to make the company more environmentally friendly, creating large green spaces, a lake and an area dedicated to the cultivation of fruit trees, all available to the entire staff. In order to improve its environmental impact, LABAM intervenes on the entire production cycle of its articles by minimising emissions, reducing waste production, optimising the processes and available resources. Moreover, we mainly use polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), the king of plastics known under the commercial name of plexiglass, which is almost 100% recycled.

The materials produced and used are also made from certified raw materials and comply with all current standards.

L’originalità della produzione combinata all’attenta ricerca sulle nuove tendenze e i colori e l’elevato standard qualitativo della produzione hanno consentito loro di annoverare tra la clientela alcune tra le più prestigiose firme dello scenario moda nazionale e internazionale.

Abbiamo avuto occasione di fare due chiacchiere con il titolare Matteo Cavalca, che ci ha raccontato come l'azienda ha vissuto e sta navigando tutt’ora questo periodo storico complesso.

Come avete lavorato in questo ultimo anno e mezzo e come vi siete organizzati a livello aziendale?

Questa crisi dovuta alla pandemia ha sicuramente destabilizzato il mercato mondiale, e il nostro settore è stato appunto tra i più colpiti. In quei primi mesi di incertezza, nei quali abbiamo messo in primo piano la salute di tutti i nostri dipendenti, clienti e fornitori, non abbiamo mai perso di vista i nostri progetti, decidendo di implementare la progettazione di tanti accessori con nuovi design accattivanti, che presenteremo non appena il settore tornerà vigoroso come nel periodo pre-Covid. Abbiamo sfruttato i mesi più calmi andando controtendenza: approfittando del momento di “rallentamento forzato”, abbiamo investito sullo stabilimento per esempio effettuando opere di ristrutturazione su due dei nostri capannoni.

Quali sono le sfide più importanti che state affrontando?

La ripartenza ha avuto e sta avendo tutt’oggi alti e bassi. Continuiamo comunque a lavorare sempre con i nostri clienti abituali ma anche con i nuovi, venendo incontro alle loro difficoltà nel trovarsi improvvisamente

Crediamo che si sia da attendere ancora qualche mese prima di avere uno sblocco definitivo della situazione generale. Quanto conta l’innovazione tecnologica e la ricerca nel vostro lavoro?

Tradizionalmente innovatori, da oltre 70 anni il nostro obiettivo è il futuro e guardare avanti con tante idee. La ricerca per noi è fondamentale, è sempre stato un nostro punto di forza e non ci siamo mai fermati.

Abbiamo svariati professionisti del nostro staff dedicati allo sviluppo e periodicamente ci riuniamo per fare brainstorming in modo da poter poi sviluppare nuovi concetti che ci permettono di mantenere sempre vasto e aggiornato il nostro campionario.

Come affrontate il tema sostenibilità?

L'argomento, molto caldo in questo periodo, è in realtà per noi sistematico da decenni. Da sempre attenti all'ambiente, alla fine degli anni '70 abbiamo colto l’occasione del trasferimento nell’attuale sede di Basilicagoiano per immergere l’azienda in un’ottica green, realizzando intorno ad essa grandi spazi verdi, un lago e una zona dedicata alla coltura di alberi da frutto, il tutto a disposizione dell’intero staff. Per migliorare il proprio impatto ambientale, LABAM interviene sull’intero ciclo di produzione dei propri articoli minimizzando le emissioni, riducendo la produzione di rifiuti, ottimizzando le lavorazioni e le risorse disponibili.

Inoltre, il materiale che utilizziamo maggiormente è il polimetilmetacrilato (PMMA), il re delle materie plastiche conosciuto sotto il nome commerciale di plexiglass, che viene riciclato in una percentuale vicina al 100%. I materiali prodotti ed utilizzati vengono inoltre realizzati con materie prime certificate e conformi a tutti i regolamenti vigenti.

Valeria Zingaretti wins DAB 2021 for her “Rainbow Bag” Valeria Zingaretti vince il DAB 2021 per la “Borsa Arcobaleno” THE DESIGNER IS GRANTED “THE OVERALL WINNER” AWARD, WINNING ALSO A LEATHER GOODS GRADUATE COURSE AT THE ARSUTORIA SCHOOL IN MILAN. The 32-year-old designer from Jesi, Valeria Zingaretti, won “The Overall Winner” award with her Rainbow Bag, which was recognised as the best bag for the 2021 edition of the DAB (Design-a-Bag Competition) International Design Contest, announced at the All China Leather Exhibition, the Hong Kong event dedicated to leathers, materials, and technology for the sector of footwear and leather goods, which was held from 31 August to 2 September in Shanghai. With its new and harmonious shape, a rainbow of colours – inspired by the multi-coloured flags and banners hung on the balconies of Italians during the pandemic – and thanks to the use of sustainable materials, the Rainbow Bag won over the judging panel of experts made up

by Italian and international designers, architects, and designers in the sectors of fashion and design. The bag is in fact completely made by hand using Italian leathers – a material that is at the centre of all the projects of the designer -, obtained from discards coming from previous productions. Highly appreciated was the ability of the designer to artistically transform the concept of “Andrà tut-

Having studied product design at the ISIA in Florence, Valeria Zingaretti has an impressive record of achievements in leather goods design to her name: in 2014, her Una bag, made using recovered leathers, participated in the contest held by the Stylist Union of the Marches, and she was rewarded also for her projects of the Ladybag backpack and the Litterae bag inspired by the Divine Comedy.

La designer 32enne jesina Valeria Zingaretti ha vinto il Primo Premio Assoluto “The Overall Winner” con la sua Borsa Arcobaleno, giudicata la migliore borsa per l’edizione 2021 al Concorso Internazionale di Design DAB (Design-a-Bag Competition), indetto da All China Leather Exhibition, la manifestazione di Hong Kong dedicata a pellami, materiali e tecnologia per il settore della calzatura e pelletteria, che si è svolta dal 31 agosto al 2 settembre a Shanghai. Con la sua forma nuova e armonica, l’arcobaleno di colori - ispirato alle variopinte bandiere e striscioni appesi ai balconi dagli italiani durante la pandemia - e grazie all’impiego di materiali sostenibili, la Borsa Arcobaleno ha conquistato la giuria di esperti composta da progettisti italiani ed internazionali, architetti e designer del settore moda e design. La borsa è, infatti, stata realizzata completamente a mano impiegando pellami italiani - materiale che è al centro di tutti i progetti della designer -, ottenuti dagli scarti provenienti dai suoi precedenti lavori. Formatasi all'Isia di Firenze, dove ha studiato product design, Valeria Zingaretti ha un palmares di tutto rispetto nel design di pelletteria: nel 2014 la sua borsa Una, realizzata con pellami di recupero, ha visto il concorso indetto dall'Unione Stilisti delle Marche, ed è stata premiata anche per i progetti dello zaino Ladybag e la borsa Litterae, ispirata alla Divina Commedia.

PL Project has developed a simple, compact and precise modular painting system: PL1000 IT IS A PATENTED EDGE DYEING SYSTEM THAT SAVES TIME FEATURING EXTREME PRECISION, EASE OF USE AND MAINTENANCE

PL Project has many years of experience during which the company has registered a number of patents for its innovative machines and aggregates.

PL project is the creation of 55 years old factory for the production of bags – Prolet Ltd with more than 300 employees.

Because of this, PL Project gives the possibility for all machines produced can be tested in real production before being put on sale.

The tests are carried out in the production premises of Prolet Ltd. and any deficiencies and further suggestions are reflected in the next version of the machine before it is put into regular production. In this way, the machines produced

by PL Project are not only innovative as technology but are also maximally “user friendly” and reliable.

Its latest innovations include PL1000, a compact, modular machine with reduced dimensions, studied in every detail for an accurate and precise but at the same time optimised edge dyeing.

Wasting time whenever the colour of the deying needs to be changed is a typical problem related to this type of machine.

Disassembling and washing the head takes about 20 minutes which, multiplied by all the times in which a colour change has to be made, causes an unacceptable downtime. To overcome this problem, many entrepreneurs are forced to buy more machines of the same type.

on the market require the piece to be passed between 3 and 4 times to obtain the correct coverage. With further waste of time.

without the need for special tools and simply washed with some detergent. An operation that altogether takes only 5 minutes.

With PL1000 these problems are overcome. The ingenious modular and induction system does not require the heads to be mechanically or electrically connected to the base of the machine, thus allowing the colour change operation to be carried out without waiting.

Heads that also ensure the application of the fixer and/or colour with a single passage, without sacrificing the perfect coverage and convexity of the edge.

The 8 degrees of adjustment available on each head increase the dye layer released on the edge of the leather by exactly 70 microns. This extremely precise release allows perfect repeatability of the application on different machines, even if they are located in different production sites.

Also the ergonomic aspect is taken care of. As a matter of fact, the machine allows you to adjust electronically the height the dyeing arm, as well as being able to be combined with a work table which is also adjustable and adaptable to the needs of the operator.

A modularity, therefore, that optimises space and speed up times, giving flexibility without sacrificing precision.

The modularity of the system allows you to have 3 machines in one, if desired.

The heads can in fact be positioned both vertically and horizontally, and the washing machine module can also be added to the basic machine, which allows you to immediately clean and remove any colour fringing. A performing module, which is also very easy to maintain, made of a sturdy material that does not retain paints. A low maintenance module just like the entire machine: at the end of the day only 8 pieces need to be cleaned. Parts can be removed

And that allows the entrepreneur to purchase only the modules he is interested in, reserving the right to expand the functionality of the PL1000 also at a later time.

A machine, among other things, that never stops evolving. In fact, PL Project is already studying the possibility of developing a module capable of recovering the water used for washing the pieces, so as to reuse them for about 3 weeks. There is also an ongoing study of a robotic arm that can carry out the dyeing operations autonomously.

PL Project ha alle spalle molti anni di esperienza nel settore durante i quali l’azienda ha registrato una serie di brevetti per le sue macchine e sistemi innovativi.

PL Project è l’emanazione di una azienda pellettiera di 55 anni, la Prolet Ltd, che conta più di 300 dipendenti. Proprio per questo, PL Project ha la possibilità di testare tutte le macchine che realizza in un reale ammbiente di produzione prima di immetterle sul mercato.

I test, eseguiti sulle linee di produzione di Prolet Ltd., mettono in luce eventuali carenze delle varie tecnologie e suggeriscono ulteriori migliorie che vengono apportate alla successiva generazione di macchine, prima che venga messa in produzione e in vendita. In questo modo, le macchine prodotte da PL Project non risultano solo innovative a livello tecnologico, ma anche incredibilmente facili da utilizzare e affidabili.

Tra le ultime innovazioni la PL1000 una macchina compatta, modulare, dalle dimensioni ridotte, studiata in ogni dettaglio per una tintura dei bordi accurata e precisa, ma al tempo stesso ottimizzata.

Il problema tipico legato a questo tipo di macchine è quello del tempo che viene perso ogni volta che si si è costretti a cambiare colore di tintura. Smontare e lavare la testa richiede all’incirca 20 minuti che, moltiplicati per tutte le volte in cui si deve operare un cambio colore, significano un tempo inaccettabile di fermo macchina. Per ovviare al problema,

molti imprenditori sono costretti ad acquistare più macchine dello stesso tipo.

Inoltre, le tingibordo fino a oggi presenti sul mercato richiedono che il pezzo venga passato tra le 3 e le 4 volte per ottenere la corretta copertura. Con ulteriore spreco di tempo.

Un modulo a bassa manutenzione, così come a bassa manutenzione è l’intera macchina: a fine giornata solo 8 pezzi necessitano di essere puliti.

Pezzi smontabili senza bisogno di attrezzi speciali e lavabili semplicemente con un po’ di detersivo. Un’operazione che, in tutto, richiede solo 5 minuti.

Con la PL1000 questi problemi sono superati. L’ingegnoso sistema modulare e a induzione non richiede alle teste di essere collegate meccanicamente o elettricamente alla base della macchina, consentendo così di effettuare l’operazione di cambio colore senza alcun tipo di attesa.

Teste che, inoltre, assicurano l’applicazione del fissante e/o della tinta con una sola passata, senza rinunciare alla perfetta copertura e bombatura del bordo. Gli 8 gradi di regolazione di cui dispone ogni testa, aumentano di esattamente 70 micron lo strato di tinta rilasciato sul bordo della pelle. Un rilascio estremamente preciso che consente di ottenere una perfetta replicabilità dell’applicazione pur su macchine diverse, anche dovessero trovarsi in siti produttivi differenti.

Curato anche l’aspetto ergonomico.

La macchina, infatti, consente di regolare in altezza ed elettronicamente il braccio di tintura, oltre a poter essere abbinata a un tavolo di lavoro anch’esso regolabile e adattabile alle esigenze dell’operatore.

Una modularità, quindi, che ottimizza gli spazi, velocizza i tempi, rende molto flessibili, senza rinunciare alla precisione. E che permette all’imprenditore di acquistare solo i moduli a cui è interessato, riservandosi di ampliare le funzionalità della PL1000 anche in un secondo momento.

La modularità del sistema permette di disporre di 3 macchine in una, se lo si desidera. Le teste, infatti, sono posizionabili sia in verticale che in orizzontale, e alla macchina base può anche essere aggiunto il modulo Lavatrice che permette di pulire e rimuovere immediatamente eventuali sbavature. Un modulo performante, ma anche molto facile da manutenre, realizzato in un materiale robusto che non trattiene le vernici.

Una macchina, fra l’altro, che non smette di evolversi. Infatti, PL Project sta già studiando la possibilità di sviluppare un modulo in grado di recuperare le acque utilizzate per il lavaggio dei pezzi, così da reimpiegarle per circa 3 settimane. Allo studio anche un braccio robotico che possa compiere in autonomia le operazioni di tintura.

The machine was created to facilitate the creation of a particular bag model: the tubular one. In particular, those tubular constructions in which the two sides of the bag are not sewn on the head, but on the side. Since after applying the first side, the bag would be closed, applying the other side with a traditional machine is not feasible. This is where the VBO 360° EVO DELTA comes into play, which manages to follow the stitching all-around without ever interrupting it. A great advantage especially when dealing with models made with more rigid materials or reinforcements, which do not allow any handling, otherwise the piece would be ruined and creased.

At the moment the machine supports models that can be inserted in the 300 mm field, but a future development is already being studied which could also cover other types, up to 500 mm.

Poiché, una volta applicato il primo fianco, la borsa risulterebbe chiusa, non sarebbe possibile applicare l’altro fianco con una macchina tradizionale. È qui che entra in gioco la VBO 360° EVO DELTA, che riesce a seguire la cucitura a 360° senza mai interromperla. Un grande vantaggio soprattutto quando si ha a che fare con modelli realizzati con materiali o rinforzi più rigidi, che non consentono alcuna maneggevolezza, pena il rovinare e sgualcire il pezzo.

Al momento la macchina supporta modelli che possano essere inseriti nei 300 mm di campo, ma è già allo studio un futuro sviluppo che potrà arrivare a coprire anche altre tipologie, fino ai 500 mm.

HAPTEX: why it’s a revolution BASF PRESENTS HAPTEX, AN INNOVATIVE POLYURETHANE (PU) SOLUTION FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SYNTHETIC LEATHER. Haptex was discovered as an innovative PU solution for the production of synthetic leather after discovering an unique method of elimination of the wet line in the production of synthetic leather – something that conventional manufacturing systems cannot do without.

Why Haptex is different from any other synthetics Haptex produces 52% less carbon emissions that conventional synthetic leather, with more than 20% reduction in energy consumption when using 1KG of chemicals for synthetic leather production. This is predominantly due to the elimination of the wet line from production processes which reduces 30% of water usage compared to usual solvent-based PU production methods. Haptex in addition does not use any organo tin catalysts or plasticizer. These results are highlighted in a recent LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) study commissioned by BASF. Main features Enhanced with a higher peel strength, anti-yellowing, and high abrasion performance properties, Haptex enables great performance. CZ PLUS Versatile, flexible, with advanced technology, its sturdy construction allows for never-before-seen cutting speeds, while guaranteeing maximum performance.

CZ PLUS, designed to improve the production process in the footwear, leather goods, automotive, apparel and furnishing industries, is set up to work with synthetics/fabrics (cutting single or multiple layers from rolls with multiple roll holders) and leathers, even of large dimensions. One of the innovations that can be implemented by the series is FFD – Foldable Feeding Device (Patent Pending) which from one end, makes it easier for a single operator to load the materials, while from the other end, increases productivity, thanks to the possibility of loading new material while the machine is still cutting. A couple of grippers help to align and hold the materials steady, adding precision to the cutting process. The FFD is completed by a tray with multiple roll supports, making it easier to pass from multiple layer feeding to multiple rolls. The tray and the FFD can be easily withdrawn to switch to the leather cutting mode, both with manual and automatic nesting (online/offline).

Other innovative elements are the front screen or FAS - Front Active Screen (Patent Pending) which presses and holds the material to be cut in position, especially suitable for cutting synthetic materials, as well as adding excellent soundproofing of the cutting area, and the rear screen or RAS - Rear Active

CJ CJ, a suspension bridge technology with single cutting head allows for the placement of the material – fabrics, leathers, or other non-rigid materials – on the work area, while also allowing it to hang freely from the sides. It makes safety its main strength with the adoption of a triple-protection system that includes two pairs of safety light curtains, a sliding cover and two pivotal protections.

Comelz Vision Both CZ PLUS and CJ can implement the Comelz Vision system, a technology that allows for the cutting of materials that require automatic centering like fabrics with patterns or logos, engineering mesh, and the re-cutting of pre-assembled pieces.

Aurelia The other novelty presented at Simac is Aurelia, a software/suite cloud to check the statistics of a network of machines and much more. Aurelia allows complete integration of management systems and handles the entire product life cycle as follows: importing data from the Caligola CAD software, running the automatic optimisation of nesting parameters through the use of artificial intelligence algorithms, applying simulation and cost control with the automatic updating of new projects, managing orders and generating detailed statistics and insights.

CZ PLUS Versatile, flessibile, con una tecnologia avanzata e una robusta costruzione che permette di raggiungere velocità di taglio prima impensabili spingendo al massimo le prestazioni, CZ PLUS migliora il processo di produzione dei settori calzatura, pelletteria, automotive e arredamento permettendo di lavorare con sintetici/tessuti (a singolo e multistrato o multi-rotolo), e pelle, anche di grandi dimensioni. Una delle innovazioni della serie è il FFD – Foldable Feeding Device (Patent Pending) dispositivo ad alimentazione pieghevole che facilita il caricamento dei materiali da parte di un singolo operatore e al tempo stesso ne aumenta la produttività grazie alla possibilità di caricare nuovo materiale mentre la macchina sta ancora tagliando. Tra le sue caratteristiche principali, il fatto di essere dotata di dispositivi di sicurezza senza eguali grazie ad un triplo sistema di protezione dagli organi di taglio (due coppie di barriere foto-elettriche di sicurezza, una copertura scorrevole, e due protezioni pivotanti).

Galli - Overmec evolve il suo sistema di visione per incollaggio automatico

Starting from the end of 2020, Overmec®, a company specialised in the production of gluing machines, becomes an official brand and an integral part of Galli S.p.a.®.

This acquisition not only completes the product portfolio offered, but also further enhances the technological expertise, allowing new hi-tech solutions to be developed. The latest evolution is the Vision XL, a vision system for automatic gluing.

Derived from a technological precedent already on the market, this model has been improved with the addition of many expedient measures, first and foremost, the increased working area (1000x800 mm).

A machine with optical vision that automatically detects the shape of the pieces, traces the gluing path with a CAD system, then acquires the piece and draws the gluing path, either automatically or manually. Once the machine has been prepared, all that remains is to start it up and allow it to work autonomously, even on different shapes positioned on the worktable at the same time. The machine recognises them and applies the perfect glue for each piece.

The Vision XL’s filtration system has also been improved thanks to the introduction of cartridge filters, with a much larger suction surface, and brushless motors that increase the volume of air handled by the machine, while ensuring reduced noise levels compared to standard suction systems.

Another fundamental feature capable of transforming the performance of the machine is the introduction of some optional extras, such as electronic scales to monitor the amount of glue inside the tanks (the operator is facilitated in controlling the machine and is warned in time when it is time to replace the glue). Or the flow sensors that monitor the amount of glue dispensed onto the workpiece. An increasingly critical need that allows a high standard of precision in the production of high-end products and the ability to measure with certainty the amount of glue used.

The machine is also equipped with a double gun to allow both precision gluing of perimeters as well as small full gluing, and with an automatic nozzle cleaning system. This feature makes it very versatile and flexible with respect to the various job changes that more and more productions have to manage.

Finally, Galli Overmec focuses strongly on technologies linked to Industry 4.0, so much so that it has developed proprietary software that will act as a hub for all the various machines, to control them remotely and provide assistance, including predictive assistance.

Grazie a tale acquisizione, oltre a completare il portafoglio prodotti offerto, viene ulteriormente accresciuto il know-how tecnologico, permettendo lo sviluppo di nuove soluzioni hi-tech.

L’ultima evoluzione, la Vision XL, riguarda il suo sistema di visione per incollaggio automatico Un modello derivato da un precedente tecnologico già sul mercato, e migliorato grazie a moltissimi accorgimenti, prima fra tutti l’area di lavoro maggiorata (1000x800 mm).

Una macchina con visione ottica che permette di rilevare in automatico la sagoma dei pezzi, di andare a tracciare con un sistema Cad il percorso di incollaggio, quindi acquisire il pezzo e disegnare il percorso di incollaggio, in automatico o in modalità manuale. Preparata la macchina non resta che avviarla e permetterle di lavorare in autonomia, anche su sagome fra loro diverse e posizionate sul tavolo di lavoro allo stesso tempo. La macchina le riconosce e applica per ciascun pezzo il perfetto incollaggio corrispondente.

Della Vision XL è stato migliorato anche il sistema di filtrazione grazie all’introduzione di filtri a cartuccia, dalla superficie aspirante molto maggiorata, e motori brushless che incrementano il volume di aria gestito dalla macchina, pur assicurando una rumorosità ridotta e contenuta rispetto agli aspiratori standard.

Altra caratteristica fondamentale capace di trasformare le prestazioni della macchina è l’introduzione di alcuni optional, come le pese elettroniche per monitorare il quantitativo di colla all’interno dei serbatoi (l’operatore è facilitato nel controllo della macchina e viene avvertito per tempo quando si avvicina il momento della sostituzione). O come i sensori di flusso che monitorano la quantità di colla erogata sul pezzo. Una necessità sempre più pressante che consente uno standard di precisione elevato nella produzione dei manufatti di alto livello e la possibilità di misurare con certezza i quantitativi di colla utilizzati.

La macchina è anche dotata di doppia pistola per permettere sia incollaggi perimetrali di precisione, come anche piccoli incollaggi in pieno e di un sistema di pulizia ugelli automatico. Una caratteristica che la rende molto versatile e flessibile rispetto ai vari cambi di lavoro che sempre più le produzioni debbono gestire.

Infine, Galli Overmec punta con decisione sulle tecnologie legate a Industria 4.0, tanto da sviluppare un software proprietario che permetterà di fungere da hub per tutti i vari macchinari, per comandarli a distanza e fornire assistenza, anche predittiva.

Like the M.E.P.P. series machines, which wrap materials, even with different thicknesses, through a sort of air-bag and then make them adhesive.

The pressure is not given by rigid plans, unable to ensure uniformity, but by a cautciou membrane, that swells by the compressed air, ensuring an absolute uniform pressure in every square centrimetre of the working plane, also when you are using materials with different thickness in the same working cicle. This system, called “lung”, compared to rigid platens, allows to obtain a five times powerful pressure.

A machine, therefore, of extreme versatility and which allows excellent quality productions. A leather shop, for example, can process 3 different models of bags in the same work round.

Other features: adjustable temperature, pressure and working time. High thermal and mechanical resistance upholstery and padding. Two work surfaces to operate alternately and avoid dead times.

Equally interesting are the continuous rotary machines, equipped with an alternating drawer and working on a revolving Teflon belt, useful for coupling the leather of uppers and bags with the relative reinforcement. Machines which, combined with optional automatic stackers, can reach a productivity 3 times higher than traditional fusing systems.

We are talking about the X 600-1000-1400-1600-1800 K-EL-OT series, with upper and lower heating system with 2 independent electronic temperature controllers. Heating plates with 9 resistive elements that allow the use of lower temperatures or a shorter processing time.

Adesivatrici per pelletteria e calzatura: le soluzioni di Martin Group MACCHINE STUDIATE PER IL SETTORE DELLA CONFEZIONE CHE POSSONO MIGLIORARE LA PRODUTTIVITÀ ANCHE DEI SETTORI CALZATURA E PELLETTERIA Da diversi anni Martin Group non prendeva parte all’appuntamento di SIMAC. Eppure, le soluzioni proposte dall’azienda toscana, benché non appena rilasciate, hanno suscitato l’interesse del pubblico attratto dalle potenzialità espresse da tecnologie studiate da oltre 50 anni per i comparti della confezione. Ottime anche per migliorare la produttività dei settori calzatura e pelletteria.

Come la linea di macchine brevettate M.E.P.P. che, attraverso una sorta di air-bag, vanno ad avvolgere i materiali, anche di spessori diversi, per poi adesivizzarli.

La pressione non viene fornita da piani rigidi, incapaci di assicurare uniformità, ma si effettua grazie a una lastra di puro caucciù che, con l'ingresso dell'aria compressa nel circuito, si gonfia assicurando una pressione assolutamente uniforme in ogni cm 2 del piano di lavoro, anche quando dovessero essere presenti, nello stesso momento, pezzi o parti di spessori fra loro differenti. Questo sistema, chiamato "polmone", rispetto ai piani rigidi, consente di ottenere una potenza di pressatura cinque volte superiore.

Una macchina, quindi, di estrema versatilità e che consente produzioni di ottima qualità. Una pelletteria, per esempio, può andare a processare 3 diversi modelli di borsa nel medesimo giro di lavoro.

Altre caratteristiche: temperatura, pressione e tempo di lavoro regolabili. Rivestimenti e imbottiture ad alta resistenza termica e meccanica. Due piani di lavoro per operare in modo alternato ed evitare tempi morti.

Molto interessanti anche le macchine rotative in continuo, dotate di un cassetto alternato e che lavorano su un nastro in teflon girevole, utile per accoppiare la pelle di tomaie e borse con il relaztivo rinforzo. Macchine che, associate a impilatori automatici opzionali, possono raggiungere una produttività 3 volte superiore ai trazdiionali sistemi a cassetti.

Si parla della serie X 600-1000-1400-1600-1800 K-EL-OT, con sistema di riscaldamento superiore e inferiore con 2 termoregolatori elettronici indipendenti. Piani di riscaldamento con 9 elementi resistivi che consentono un utilizzo di temperature più basse o di un tempo di lavorazione inferiore.

Automation, dyeing, glueing and efficiency: keywords for Omac THE CORPORATE REBRANDING DENOTES OMAC’S ATTENTION TO DETAIL WHICH IMPROVES ITS MACHINES WITH INCREASINGLY CUTTING-EDGE FEATURES The Padua-based company, which manufactures entirely in Italy its over 150 models of automatic and semi-automatic machinery and production lines, is present throughout the national territory as well as in every European and international nation through a network of 280 qualified assistance and specialised dealers. Each year it sells more than 2500 machines, exporting 70% of them to more than 70 countries.

Anyone who went to the Omac stand during the 2021 edition of Simac Tanning Tech certainly realised the profound changes that have involved the corporate image. Now a new look, a new brand and a new taste characterise Omac’s trade fair setting, as well as its website and promotional tools. Modern and very elegant, the rebranding is not just an exercise in communication, but it also implies the company’s future intention to serve its customers, also of the high-end segment, with care and an innovative spirit.

For over 60 years, Omac has in fact been alongside manufacturing and textile companies, from small craft shops to large fashion, furniture and automotive companies.

A collaboration within which Omac has always brought its innovative spirit, that once again emerged from the innovations and improvements made on its machines presented during the fair.

Dyeing machine CM1 Like the automatic two-station edge dyeing system for leather pieces of different shapes and sizes (i.e. logos, inserts, etc.), it is equipped with an innovative spray deying and automatic drying system.

The CM1 allows you to colour extremely quickly the corners of leather elements of any thickness, with dimensions up to 140 mm in diameter; the components are loaded onto the machine by placing them side by side in “packets” that can reach a maximum axial size of 140 mm (this allows for the processing of dozens of pieces at the same time.

Edge dyeing machine 998 Mod. 998, instead, is a machine that can be used to dye the corners of handbags and wallets, and it can be positioned on the counter, given its small size. The operator can easily and accurately apply the colour by adjusting both the rotation speed of the roller and the amount of colour. The inclined system with upper scraper allows you to see the freshly dyed edge for the entire duration of the dyeing procedure. The 998 machine is equipped with a simple and fast mechanism to detach the dye block and wash it.

Based on an optical vision system that detects the shape and position of the pieces to be machined, the LT600 OPTIC allows all

types of perimeter glueing/ colouring, and/or any point of a flat element. The software is easy and intuitive to use, allowing, for example, the operator to freely position the pieces to be processed on the work surface. Or to edit the paths with the mouse, and to save the work recipes.

Automatic spray glueing machines LT80 - LT150 - LT180 Also the automatic glueing machine is suitable for glueing. It is equipped with a conveyor belt for the discharge of the processed material. It is perfect to glue full leather and/or fabric items.

The powerful vacuum cleaner ensures that the parts being processed, even if lightweight, remain correctly positioned during the glueing phase. The width of the glueing area is 700 mm for LT 80 and 1800 mm for LT 180.

The coordinated movement of the belt and the gun allow the glue to be evenly distributed on all the parts being processed.

LIFT 140 The Lift 140 system dedicated to improving the speed and precision of the production process can not be overlooked. It is an automated system for loading material, belts and/or shoulder straps, onto the work surface of Omac LT 150/180 automatic glueing machines, minimising the use of human resources in this process. The material is stored in two motorised stackers that bring the strips always to the same level, where two arms equipped with suction cups pick them up and deposit them on the glueing surface.

But the care that Omac is dedicating to its machines can be seen in many details: “We are upgrading all the numerically controlled machines with cameras and multi-axis movements; and with sensors that allow an increasingly accurate and precise remote assistance”, highlights Cristiano Paccagnella, general manager of Omac. “We have also simplified the use of some machines, especially as when it comes to set-up times. Because customers need to work on small batches and frequently change the models to be processed, due to the ever shorter time to market period”.

Other details take care of workers’ health or facilitate their efficiency. Like the new smart glueing machines filters that directly communicate to the operator when the filtering power decreases, so as to preserve health and safety. Or the sensors that check the level of the glue in the tanks, so that it can be replaced at the right time and with more promptness.

Or, again, the increasingly accurate recognition of the pieces that allows not to waste glue, both on machines equipped with a vision system, as well as on those without. Finally, we should mention the ceramic infrared lamps capable of speeding up the drying times of the glue.

Coloratrice CM1 Come la coloritrice automatica a due postazioni per bordi di componenti in pelle di varie forme e dimensioni (es. loghi, inserti, ecc.), dotata di un innovativo sistema di coloritura a spruzzo e asciugatura automatico.

La CM1 consente di colorare in modo estremamente rapido il bordo di elementi in pelle di qualsiasi spessore, con ingombri di diametro fino a 140 mm; i componenti vengono caricati sulla macchina affiancandoli in “pacchetti” che possono arrivare a un massimo ingombro assiale di 140 mm (ciò permette di poter lavorare contemporaneamente decine di pezzi).

Tingibordi 998 La 998, invece, è una macchina utilizzabile per tingere i bordi di borse e portafogli, e può essere posizionata sul banco, viste le dimensioni ridotte. L’operatore può tingere facilmente e con precisione regolando sia la velocità di rotazione del rullo che la quantità di colore. Il sistema inclinato con raschiatore superiore permette di vedere per tutta la durata della coloratura, il bordo appena tinto. La 998 è dotata di un meccanismo semplice e rapido per staccare il blocco colorante ed effettuarne il lavaggio.

Basata su un sistema di visione ottica che rileva la forma e la posizione dei pezzi da lavorare, la LT600 OPTIC permette tutti i tipi di incollaggio/coloratura perimetrali, e/o di qualsiasi punto di un elemento piano. Il software eÌ di facile ed intuitivo utilizzo permettendo, per esempio, all’operatore di posizionare liberamente i pezzi da lavorare sul piano di lavoro. O di editare i percorsi tramite mouse, e il salvataggio delle ricette di lavoro.

Incollatrice Automatica LT80 - LT150 - LT180 Si occupa di incollaggio anche la stazione di incollaggio automatizzata dotata di nastro trasportatore per lo scarico del materiale lavorato. Perfetta per l’incollaggio in pieno di elementi in pelle e/o tessuto.

Il potente aspiratore assicura che i particolari in lavorazione, anche se leggeri, restino posizionati correttamente durante la fase di incollaggio.

La larghezza del campo di lavoro eÌ 700 mm per LT 80 e mm 1800 per LT 180.

Il movimento coordinato del nastro e della pistola permettono di distribuire uniformemente il collante su tutti i particolari in lavorazione.

LIFT 140 Da non trascurare il sistema Lift 140 dedicato a migliorare velocità e precisione del processo produttivo. È un sistema automatizzato per il carico del materiale, cinture e/o tracolle, sul piano di lavoro di incollatrici automatiche Omac LT 150/180, riducendo al minimo l’utilizzo di risorse umane in questo processo. Il materiale viene stoccato in due impilatori motorizzati che portano le strisce sempre allo stesso livello, dove due bracci dotati di ventose le prelevano e le depositano sul piano di incollaggio.

Ma la cura che Omac sta dedicando alle proprie macchine si nota da molti dettagli: “Stiamo potenziando tutte le macchine a controllo numerico con telecamere e movimentazioni a più assi; e con sensori che consentano una teleassistenza sempre più accurata e precisa”, sottolinea Cristiano Paccagnella, general manager Omac. “Abbiamo anche semplificato l'utilizzo di alcune macchine, soprattutto per quanto concerne i tempi di settaggio. Perché il cliente ha necessità di lavorare su piccoli lotti e cambiare di frequente i modelli da mettere in lavorazione, a causa del sempre più ridotto time to market”.

Altri dettagli si prendono cura della salute dei lavoratori o ne agevolano l’efficienza.

Come i nuovi filtri intelligenti delle macchine di incollaggio che comunicano direttamente all'operatore quando la potenza di filtraggio decresce, così da preservarne salute e sicurezza. O i sensori che controllano il livello di colla nei serbatoi, così da poterla sostituire al momento giusto e con maggiore prontezza. Oppure, ancora, il riconoscimento dei pezzi sempre più accurato che permette di non sprecare colla, sia su macchine dotate di sistema di visione, come anche su quelle che ne sono sprovviste. Da citare, infine, le lampade a infrarossi in ceramica in grado di velocizzare i tempi di asciugatura della colla.
