DIGITAL SKILLS AS DRIVING FORCE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE LEATHER SUPPLY CHAIN The “Made in Italy” technologies and solutions currently available to the Fashion industry and specifically to the Leather supply chain, have reached today levels of technological innovation that were unthinkable only a decade ago.

The evolution of the sector was defined in 2013, at European level, in the now well-known Industry 4.0 manufacturing paradigm (of German conception) which laid the foundation of what we call the “fourth industrial revolution”.

The great merit of the “National Industry Plan - later Enterprise 4.0”, promoted since 2017, was to bring back to Italy a national industrial plan that was absent for a long time.

And Plan I4.0 has undoubtedly contributed to supporting the investment component of the national manufacturing economy, in light of the situation of the World and European Economy.

However, we have not seen the desired “industrial renaissance” resulting from the ongoing industrial revolution. Why? “Revolution is made with people!”: Awareness and knowledge of 4.0 technologies are now widespread in most of the production realities of the supply chain, but to achieve effective integration between mechanical and electronic/IT parts of machinery and products and the consequent creation of intelligent factories integrated along the entire supply chain and in all value creation processes, we need an organisational model capable of involving workers to improve and enhance their digital skills.

A closer collaboration in the supply chain can contribute

to better seize opportunities related to enabling technologies: between manufacturers and users, up to the final “transformer”, the optimisation of the machines connected to each other in the production process (Industrial Internet of Things), data collection (via Cloud), the use and related data analysis (“big” data analytics) to under-

stand correlations and patterns that cannot be perceived by humans, can improve the performance of the finished product, of the process and of the workers’ safety (Artificial intelligence). All this is partially already a reality in the tech-driven fashion supply chain.

The change of organsiational and traditional business mod-

els should make you leave basically individualistic competitive positions for a more integrated, more open and more sustainable supply chain that is aware of its role in international value supply chains.

As an industry, we risk losing the global challenge we are playing for the technology leadership of the near future.

LE COMPETENZE DIGITALI COME VOLANO PER LO SVILUPPO DELLA FILIERA PELLE Le tecnologie e le soluzioni “made in Italy” attualmente a disposizione dell’industria della Moda e specificatamente per la filiera Pelle, hanno raggiunto oggi livelli di innovazione tecnologica impensabili solamente un decennio fa.

L’evoluzione del comparto è stata definita nel 2013, a livello Europeo, nell’ormai noto paradigma manifatturiero Industry 4.0 (di concezione tedesca) che ha sancito le basi per quella che definiamo la “quarta rivoluzione industriale”.

Il grande merito del “Piano Nazionale Industria – poi Impresa – 4.0”, promosso dal 2017, è stato quello di riportare in Italia un piano industriale nazionale assente da lungo tempo.

E il Piano I4.0 ha indubbiamente contribuito a sostenere la componente di investimenti dell’economia manifatturiera nazionale, alla luce della situazione dell’Economia Mondiale ed Europea.

Non abbiamo però assistito al “rinascimento industriale” auspicato, derivante dalla rivoluzione industriale in atto.

Perché?

“La rivoluzione si fa con le Persone!”: la consapevolezza e la conoscenza delle tecnologie 4.0 sono ormai diffuse in gran parte delle realtà produttive della filiera, ma per arrivare ad una effettiva integrazione tra le parti meccaniche ed elettroniche/informatiche dei macchinari e dei prodotti e la conseguente realizzazione di fabbriche intelligenti integrate lungo tutta la catena della fornitura e in tutti

i processi di creazione del valore, occorre un modello organizzativo capace di coinvolgere i lavoratori per migliorarne e potenziarne le competenze digitali.

Una maggiore collaborazione di filiera può contribuire nel cogliere meglio le opportunità legate alle tecnologie abilitanti: tra costruttori e utilizzatori, fino al “trasformatore” finale, l’ottimizzazione delle macchine connesse tra loro nel processo produttivo (Industrial Internet of Things), la raccolta ( tramite Cloud) e l’utilizzo e la relativa analisi dei dati (“big” data analytics) per capire le correlazioni e pattern, non percepibili dall’uomo, possono migliorare le performance del prodotto finito, del processo e della sicurezza dei lavoratori stessi (Intelligenza Artificiale). Tutto questo è già in parte realtà nella filiera tecnologica della Moda.

Il cambiamento organizzativo e dei modelli di business tradizionali deve portare a lasciare posizioni competitivi sostanzialmente individualiste a favore di una filiera più integrata, più aperta e più sostenibile e consapevole del proprio ruolo nelle filiere internazionali del valore.

Come filiera, si rischia di perdere la sfida globale che si sta giocando per la leadership tecnologica del prossimo futuro.

ICOL Group, high-tech solutions for the footwear sector THE DIGITAL ROBOTIC TECHNOLOGY FOR FOOTWEAR PRODUCTION PRESENTED AT SIMAC TANNING TECH 2020 IN MILAN OFFERS INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR INCREASINGLY PERFORMING PRODUCTION LINES CONSISTENT WITH INDUSTRY 4.0.

During the Simac Tanning Tech of February 2020, ICOL Group, European group with headquarters in Barcelona, presented the first completely robotised technological solution in the world for most of the footwear production operations, from the scanning of hides and fully automatic defect detection, to the preparation for the cutting, roughing, priming, pasting of glue, drying and much more.

During the trade fair event, ICOL Group provided the market with the first public demonstration of its new product line for Industry 4.0. A series of innovative high-tech solutions for the footwear and leather goods sectors.

Three are, in particular, the novelties that emerged: ICOL.FACTORY: an offer of integrated and fully automated robotisation solutions for the production of footwear and leather goods and logistics processes in factories.

ICOL.DIGITAL: a B2B platform for the management of the fashion supply chain. It brings together all the participants in the sector in a digital environment, from designers, manufacturers to resellers and suppliers, to help them in their daily research, in planning and organisation buying, production and distribution channels.

ICOL Italia: ICOL’s newborn company which aims to develop various projects, as for example in the production quality control area through artificial intelligence and digital twins, as well as providing important commercial support for the European area.

THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ICOL Before delving into some issues, however, let’s take a step back, to better understand how ICOL Group was created, whose founder and CEO, Dmitry Gontsov, boasts over 20 years of managerial experience in cutting-edge industries, mainly in the footwear sector. After starting his entrepreneurial career in the 90s, working on personal projects for the footwear, production and retail

industry, in 2008 Gontsov joined Belwest, the largest company in the sector on the CIS territory, as general manager. His innovative approach led him to introduce new high tech into the company: automation and robotics, artificial vision and artificial intelligence (AI), digital twin, industrial IoT. In 2017 he decided to start new projects, founding the LACIT - Digital Technology Lab in Belarus for the creation and implementation of B2B solutions for the fashion industry in the field of automation and robotics, including the production of footwear. At the same time he started a trading company, Bereg SL, in Barcelona (Spain). In 2019, Gontsov gathers its companies together with other realities, managing them under a single brand name: ICOL Group, based in Barcelona.

COMPANY PHILOSOPHY The philosophy behind the company’s work is inspired by the needs of a market that increasingly demands flexible, customizable and manufactured production according to the principles of Industry 4.0. A need that will push towards a total transformation of the companies that will have to manage huge quantities of information in short time, produce just as fast, containing costs (therefore eliminating human labour from routine operations) and, above all, providing the customer with a competitive product in terms of performance, quality and price.

This reduces the import of labour and the most prepared young people remain here.

AN ALREADY OPERATING INNOVATION A wide range of innovations, therefore, which is not a pure utopia for ICOL Group. The next-generation digital factory of the Belwest company (Belarus) hosts, in fact, the pilot project of an ICOL.FACTORY 4.0, which has already been used for several months now to extensively test these technologies.

“At the moment, the shoe production process worldwide is semi-automated. Of course, most of the operations have been transformed by the use of machines, but this happens with a still active, and sometimes important, involvement of the operator. There is still no integrated and fully automated solution on the market. ICOL Group offers exactly this, an integrated solution for a unique and fully robotic leather cutting line, in which artificial intelligence and robots perform sev-

eral operations simultaneously: from defect identification and digital mark-up on leathers, to the cutting of pieces and other necessary manipulations and preparations”, emphasizes Dimitry Gontsov.

Automated hide scanning and the use of digital twins and virtual cutting simulations, allow a company to create an archive of materials ready to be used, optimizing maximum quality and resources. A system which, according to preliminary estimates, is 3 to 5 times more effective compared to traditional solutions on the market.

DEVELOPMENT CONTINUES The development of this technologically advanced vision continues also thanks to the establishment of ICOL Italia, a partnership between ICOL Group and ELSE Corp, strategic technological partner for ICOL Group in Italy, thanks to its innovative products and services such as 3D Virtual Sampling, now ICOL’s basis of the project “PDM & Digital Twins”.

What are the next steps? “We have found the right partner to develop our projects based on artificial intelligence for design and production, areas on which our research and development team has been working for the last 3 years, in order to pave the way for further important projects in the next months”, declared Andrey Golub, co-founder of ELSE Corp and also General Manager of ICOL Italia now.

“Al momento, la produzione di scarpe in tutto il mondo è semi-automatizzata. Certamente, la maggior parte delle operazioni è stata trasformata dall’uso delle macchine, ma ciò accade con un coinvolgimento ancora attivo, e a volte importante, dell'operatore. Non esiste ancora una soluzione integrata e completamente automatizzata sul mercato. Il Gruppo ICOL offre esattamente questo, una soluzione integrata per una li-

nea di taglio di pelli unica e completamente robotizzata, in cui intelligenza artificiale e robot eseguono simultaneamente diverse operazioni: dall'identificazione dei difetti e il markup digitale delle pelli, al taglio dei pezzi e altre manipolazioni e preparazioni necessarie”, sottolinea Dimitry Gontsov.

La scansione automatizzata delle pelli e l’utilizzo di digital twins e simulazioni di taglio virtuale, permettono a un’azienda di crearsi un archivio di materiali pronto per essere utilizzato ottimizzando al massimo qualità e risorse. Un sistema che, secondo stime preliminari, risulta dalle 3 alle 5 volte più efficace delle soluzioni tradizionali presenti sul mercato.

Galli S.p.a. specialises in the production and design of work centres and lines for leather goods: machinery for punching, embossing, stapling, coupling, strip-cutting, trimming, milling machines, lapping, brushing, colouring, glazing, as well as furnaces, loading and unloading robots, these are just some examples of the wide range of products manufactured by the company.

We met Carlo Galli at the last Simac fair in Milano and he told us about the various and very interesting new developments for 2020. First of all, new graphics for the machines and restyling for the presentation at the fair under the “umbrella” name of Galli (combining Galli and Overmec into a single name, much easier also for customers). Of the eight new machines presented at the fair, the focus was definitely on those featuring robotics that automatically colour the pieces, especially regarding leather belts and straps. This cutting-edge technology based on automated robots can produce, for example, more than 1000 labels per day. The highlights are the precision features and advanced software, all produced in-house.

The latest developments include the upgrading of some of the company’s most successful machines, with particular attention to the transparency of their walls in order to make work environments brighter and more pleasant, to maintain perfect

Come ci ha spiegato Carlo Galli, incontrato all'ultimo Simac, le novità 2020 per l'azienda sono numerose e molto interessanti. Innanzitutto nuova veste grafica delle macchine e restyling per la presentazione in fiera sotto il nome "ombrello" Galli (fusione di Galli e Overmec in un unico nome, molto più semplice anche per i clienti).

Delle otto nuove macchine presentate in fiera, il focus è sicuramente su quelle che puntano sulla robotica in grado di colorare in automatico i pezzi, specie per quanto riguarda cinture e strisce di pelle. Questa tecnologia all'avanguardia su base automatica può realizzare, ad esempio, più di 1000 etichette al giorno.

Spiccano le caratteristiche di precisione e il software avanzato, tutto prodotto internamente all'azienda. Tra le novità anche svariate revisioni di macchinari, già di grande successo tra la clientela, con particolare attenzione alla trasparenza delle pareti, al fine di rendere più luminosi e piacevoli gli ambienti di lavoro, mantenere un controllo perfetto sulla lavorazione e ottimizzare la dispersione del calore. È evidente come, per Galli, ricerca e innovazione rappresentino sempre un punto di forza e una leva competitiva. Industrie Chimiche Forestali is sustainable even in packaging Industrie Chimiche Forestali è sostenibile anche negli imballi THE NEW TYPE OF PACKAGING FOR WATER-BASED ADHESIVES ALLOWS PURCHASING AND MANAGING PRODUCTS MORE EFFICIENTLY FROM AN ECONOMIC, LOGISTICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL POINT OF VIEW “For several years we have been active in the research and promotion of water-based emulsions and dispersions as an alternative to solvent-based solutions for our adhesives used in the footwear, leather goods, automotive and flexible packaging sectors,” says Guido Cami, President of ICF - Industrie Chimiche Forestali, during the presentation of the new packaging system held at February’s Lineapelle. Continues Cami: “Once the water-based products were made available in the catalogue, we also asked ourselves how we could distribute them”.

This virtuous path taken by ICF to find a distribution solution as sustainable as the products offered, has led the company based in Marcallo con Casone to take a further step forward: the development of a brand-new patented system, still in the phase of industrialization.

A revolutionary type of packaging for water-based adhesives that allows packaging products in the new ‘ContaineRevolution’ of 100 or 50 kg. A container made up of a very sturdy outer shell in PVC, closed by 2 very resistant half-shells that encase a special four-layer removable wrapping that keeps the product stable throughout its life.

Furthermore, the special construction of

ContaineRevolution allows it to be connected directly to the air and to the spraying machines without additional decanting (it can carry a medium viscosity adhesive with a pressure of 0.4 bar, up to a height of 3 meters, with a flow of 8 kg per minute, with up to two guns connected simultaneously, allowing maximum flexibility inside any production site).

Attention was also placed on the end of the product life. In fact, once the adhesive is finished, the ContaineRevolution can be compressed (occupying much less space) and is ready to be returned and refilled. This procedure can be repeated for at least 30 cycles, according to initial estimates calculated by ICF. In order to provide a complete system that meets all customer needs, the ICF is also preparing and manufacturing the accessory equipment capable of optimizing the functionality of the container, such as a transport trolley and a supporting structure that allows the products to be positioned directly on board the machine.

And the costs? “They will not increase, they will remain in line with the prices applied to other packaging systems. We believe that this innovation should not be used to earn more money, but to provide a better service to customers and the environment.”

The advantages of this innovative system are manifold: - No waste: its construction is patented and allows dispensing 100% of the content.

- Reduces the number of packaging waste to be disposed of - Optimizes production times: no repeated changes in the ‘bag in box’ system or filling of tanks.

- Excellent storage: thanks to the good insulation provided by the container, the adhesive is protected from temperature changes during transport and to the fact that it never comes into contact with air which allows it to preserve its performance over time.

- Positive impact on logistics: once the adhesive is finished, the container can be compressed to occupy a third of the space of a full container, thus improving the environmental impact during transport.

LA NUOVA TIPOLOGIA DI IMBALLO PER ADESIVI BASE ACQUA PERMETTE DI RENDERE L’ACQUISTO E LA GESTIONE DEI PRODOTTI MAGGIORMENTE EFFICIENTE IN TERMINI ECONOMICI, LOGISTICI E DI GESTIONE AMBIENTALE «Da diversi anni siamo attivi nella ricerca e promozione di emulsioni e dispersioni acquose in alternativa alle soluzioni a base solvente per i nostri adesivi utilizzati nei settori calzatura, pelletteria, automotive e flexible packaging», racconta Guido Cami, Presidente di ICF - Industrie Chimiche Forestali, durante la presentazione del nuovo sistema di imballaggio tenutasi durante l’edizione di febbraio 2020 di Lineapelle. Continua Cami: «Una volta resi disponibili a catalogo i prodotti a base acqua ci siamo anche chiesti come avremmo potuto distribuirli».

Questo percorso virtuoso di ICF per trovare una soluzione di distribuzione sostenibile quanto i prodotti proposti, ha condotto l’azienda di Marcallo con Casone a un ulteriore passo avanti: allo sviluppo di un nuovissimo sistema brevettato, in fase di industrializzazione.

Una rivoluzionaria tipologia di imballi per gli adesivi base acqua che permette di confezionare i prodotti nel nuovo “ContaineRevolution” da 100 o 50 kg. Un procedimento che può essere ripetuto per almeno 30 cicli, secondo le stime iniziali. Software improvements for F.lli Alberti’s skiving machine Miglioramenti software per la scarnitrice di F.lli Alberti THE MOST IMPORTANT NOVELTY INTRODUCED IN 2020 IS A SERIES OF IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE AV2 TEV ELECTRONIC MACHINE. “Programmable skiving”, this is the motto that has accompanied the presentation of the Fratelli Alberti’s AV2 TEV leather skiving machine until today, whose technical features have not changed: automatic knife sharpening, automatic knife feed control, the possibility to have a working cycle of the grinding stone that allows you to optimise the consumption of knife and grinding stone. Moreover, for every single workpiece, you can programme 5 different types of skives for each type of presserfoot in 50 different sequences.

There are instead three big innovations introduced in the 2020 models that improve the machine’s automatisms and its ability to be increasingly in line with the needs of Industry 4.0.

The first concerns the possibility of automatically adjusting the tool axis according to the thickness of the material to be cut: knowing the desired width and final thickness of the skiving, it is possible to automatically calculate the positioning of the presserfoot and let

the machine independently set correct parameters to obtain the desired skive width, simply by measuring the thickness of the leather to be processed using the appropriate tool positioned on the machine.

The second innovation involves the use of bar-codes that allow you to feed the desired skiving data into the machine, as well as the search for work programmes.

A very useful upgrade to improve and optimise communication between the design office and production department.

As for management control, the AV2 TEV is now equipped with a better connection to the corporate network that allows it to transmit data much easier such as, for example: import and export of programme files or production data files in formats readable from any database.

And, again, compiling an electronic notebook that allows you to write down and keep track of the quantity of processed materials, start and end times of processes, the number of skives carried out.

La prima riguarda la possibilità di regolare in automatico gli assi dell'utensile in funzione dello spessore del materiale: conoscendo la larghezza e lo spessore finale della scarnitura desiderati, è possibile calcolare automaticamente il posizionamento del piedino e lasciare che la macchina imposti in autonomia i parametri

corretti per ottenere la scarnitura desiderata, semplicemente misurando lo spessore della pelle da lavorare attraverso l’apposito strumento posizionato a bordo macchina.

La seconda innovazione coinvolge l’utilizzo dei bar-code che consentono di inserire nella macchina i dati relativi alla scarnitura desiderata, così come la ricerca dei programmi di lavoro. Un upgrade molto utile per migliorare e ottimizzare la comunicazione fra l’ufficio progettazione e la produzione.

Per quanto riguarda il controllo di gestione, la AV2 TEV è ora dotata di un miglior collegamento alla rete aziendale che le consente una trasmissione dati molto più agevole come, per esempio: importare ed esportare i file dei programmi oppure i file relativi ai dati di produzione in formati leggibili da qualsiasi database. E, ancora, la compilazione di un taccuino elettronico che permette di annotare e tenere traccia della quantità di pelli lavorate, l'ora di inizio e di fine delle lavorazioni, il numero di scassi effettuati.

It starts with DP 1300 CN, a UV Digital Printing Plotter dedicated to the decoration on leather or flexible materials. Compared to previous models, the improvement of ink-jet printing is the secret of the excellent quality of the products now obtainable. Also the performance of the entire machine, maintaining an Epson print head, has been implemented and optimised and some precious technologies have been added to it such as the positioning system and the dedicated software. In this way, Sagitta can now offer its customers a machine for direct printing on materials designed from start to finish for the fashion sector: «It completes our range of proposals concerning the world of decoration, which represents our mission: helping all those who want to customise fashion products», says the company.

Thanks to BLUE LASER, which has a

semiconductor source with a wavelength of 450 nm., about 20 times smaller than the wavelength of the traditional CO2 laser, the short wavelength makes the photons more energetic so they are more effective on materials.

The Marking on metal is impossible with traditional CO2 lasers. This small, compact and much less expensive galvanometric system compared to others, allows you to easily customise products.

Si parte con la Stampante Digitale UV a plotter, modello DP 1300 CN, dedicata alla decorazione su pelle o materiali flessibili. Rispetto ai modelli precedenti è il perfezionamento degli inchiostri il segreto dell'ottima qualità dei prodotti ora ottenibili. Perfezionate e ottimizzate anche le performance dell’intera macchina che mantiene una testa di stampa Epson a cui sono state aggiunte alcune preziose tecnologie come il sistema di piazzamento e il software dedicato.

Così Sagitta può ora offrire ai propri clienti una macchina per la stampa diretta su materiali pensata dall’inizio alla fine per il settore moda: «Completa la nostra gamma di proposte riguardo il mondo della decorazione, che rappresenta la nostra missione: aiutare tutti coloro che

Nella medesima direzione si spinge lo sviluppo di alcune tecnologie laser che possono lavorare in combinazione con altre macchine o facilitare la personalizzazione di alcuni dettagli.

Per esempio, l’utilizzo di un BLUE LASER, sistema di marcatura laser 10W MKR, a bordo delle affidabili macchine per l’applicazione di borchie, occhielli e rivetti, che consente un ulteriore livello di decorazione, con un unico piazzamento.

Grazie al BLUE LASER, che ha una sorgente a semiconduttore con lunghezza d'onda a 450 nm., circa 20 volte più piccola della lunghezza d'onda del laser tradizionale CO2, si può sfruttare una lunghezza d'onda più corta in cui i fotoni sono più energetici e perciò più efficaci sui materiali. Blue laser significa, quindi, compattezza, basso consumo e costi contenuti.

Il LASER IR 1064nm, sistema di marcatu-

ra laser a infrarossi Q-Switched 2W MKR per borchie, occhielli, rivetti, fibbie, parti metalliche e plastiche, è invece una testa galvanometrica montata su un supporto regolabile in altezza per un facile posizionamento e messa a fuoco che consente di personalizzare con scritte, loghi, marchi, codici, disegni le parti metalliche o in plastica di scarpe, borse e cinture.

Marcatura su metallo che sarebbe impossibile con i tradizionali laser CO2.

Questo sistema galvanometrico piccolo, compatto e molto meno costoso di altri, consente in modo agile la personalizzazione dei prodotti.Con l’aggiunta di un sistema di piazzamento automatico e un caricatore potrebbe gestire anche grandi lotti di produzione.

Migliorata anche la MR15 CN B 3H Bridge Vision, la macchina automatica a controllo numerico per l’applicazione di borchie a griffa con Sistema di Visione "GUIDA MACCHINA". Se il modello presentato lo scorso anno era in grado di

associare le figure presenti sul materiale a un modello pre-impostato e applicare le relative decorazioni in maniera ultra precisa, oggi la macchina è in grado di ottenere la medesima precisione nell'applicazione delle decorazioni anche solo indicando, lato software, i punti di riferimento e di interesse (come l'incrocio di una cucitura): la borchia verrà applicata in quel particolare punto riconosciuto automaticamente dal sistema di visione.

A post-bed sewing machine that comes available in both a mechanical and electronic version, it allows numerous configurations to be set up (with 1 needle, 2 needles, stitching in/trimming linings, or small-enlarged bobbin) for every working need, making it the ideal machine for sewing work and for the shoes and leather goods industries. Among its advantages, is improved stability while sewing, the new automatic thread trimmer which is easy to adjust with a short thread cutting system, and the continuous work of synchronized feed dog and presser foot feeding that greatly facilitates the guide of the material making the work more efficient and qualitatively better.

Camarb N31-ALL-INONE also stands out for its intuitive software that allows programming and automation of numerous functions and processes by offering seams qualitatively homogeneous. Moreover, the ergonomic design has been specifically studied to make more spaces X-DRAW available for the operator.

Next to the brand new Camarb N31ALL-IN-ONE, Bramac continues to also focus on an X-Draw printing modular system used to plot guidelines on leathers and other fabrics, composed of 2 main stations for model acquisition and plotting the markings. In the first station, the software acquires the model from which the system extracts the different type of marks that must be replicated on the raw piece. In the second station, the system activates the plotting station: the advantage this system offers is that of detecting the pieces to be marked, centring the relative coordinates of the marks to be replicated, even if placed randomly on the conveyor belt.

CO.ME.TA has been producing sewing machines for the footwear, leather goods and packaging industries for almost 40 years, continuously looking for innovative solutions able to meet the increasingly sophisticated needs of an ever-evolving market.

And this was also verified at SIMAC 2020, where the Montegranaro-based company presented the prototype of an innovative sewing machine with rotating arm and interchangeable arm models, for an evident savings in price and space and for maximum optimisation of working times.

The prototype shown at the fair, moreover, will evolve into a version that adopts electronics developed entirely by Co.me.ta. and that allows, for example, the machine to automatically set the appropriate sewing program at each rotation of the arm, memorising the options activated previously, so as to make the operator’s job much easier.

For the stitching department of uppers, leather goods and small leather accessories, Anzani has enhanced the CYCLOMOVE chain conveyors, which distribute boxes containing semi-finished products, by adding a tablet for each workstation.

This allows the operator to receive most of the information needed to finalise the work such as the processing time required for each operation, to access videos and explanatory data sheets for each operation, to report a downtime so that the system can record the duration, or to call and ask for the intervention of the line manager.

LOGIMODULE is a tool particularly suitable for small products requiring different types of processing, for

Moreover, if used to manage the production of samples, the software is very useful for creating standard times, which will subsequently be used in the production phase.

GLFormax, a company from Scandicci specialised in the production of cutting dies, designs and produces machinery to support specific steps in the artisanal production process, with the desire to create innovative products of the highest quality and reliability. An example of this was given at the last edition of Simac with the presentation of two new vacuum systems, the Stopper 5035 and St-Multi series, for the assembly of bags and wallets.

A single-suction system for the first, while the latter features a triple-suction system with PLC on board (programmable logic controller). Stopper vacuum systems allow for optimisation of production times, while carrying out with greater accuracy some of the main production processes in leather goods, like the assembly of bags, the folding and mounting of wallets, the mounting of zips…

St-Multi allows bags to be mounted on a mould that replicates their inside volumes,

Elitron is a leader in the production and marketing of cutting systems, automation and software for footwear and leather goods, technical materials, digital printing, paper converting, furniture and automotive. The company has brought some innovative solutions to Simac for the placement and cutting of materials.

The new Visio acquisition table comes with the latest digital technology from Elitron: the Elitron Digital Infrared or EDI. This infrared pen allows the operator to identify holes and defects, without having to physically mark the leather. Furthermore, there is no need to continuously check the screen, since the digital marks are clearly projected and visible and colour coded directly on the leather. Not only does this save time, but also makes it more ergonomic and practical for the operator.

This innovation is accompanied by the optimised nesting software that allows the placement of the digital dies for maximum yield of the material and minimal waste.

The Plaza TH cutting system has also been upgraded for even greater flexibility and productivity. The 2 beams and 2 cutting heads can now work in 4 different configurations:

• use of the entire work area to cut using 2 x 5 tools; • use of alternating working mode, between cutting, placing of the hides and collecting the cut / scrap pieces; • division of the work area for the “Custom Cutting” setting which transforms one cutting system into two separate systems; • use of the entire work area, which allows cutting with 10 tools, using one main cutting head and the other for specific extra tools.

material and prints the design/texture only within the material; or it recognises the material and places the shapes within the perimeter, ready to be printed; third possibility: it recognises the perimeter of the materials or objects placed on the printing bed and identifies the shapes to be printed.

No more need to print over the entire print area, which speeds up the printing process, reduces ink wastage and keeps the printing bed cleaner.

Elitron, protagonista nella produzione e commercializzazione di sistemi per il taglio, automazioni e software per calzatura e pelletteria, materiali tecnici, stampa digitale, cartotecnica, arredamento e automotive, ha portato a Simac alcune innovative soluzioni per il piazzamento e il taglio dei materiali.

Il nuovo tavolo di acquisizione Visio viene presentato con la più recente tecnologia digitale, l’Elitron Digital Infrared o EDI. Una penna a infrarossi che consente all’operatore di identificare buchi e difetti, senza dover segnare fisicamente la pelle. Tra le novità non va dimenticato Klick, l’innovativo software sviluppato per automatizzare il processo di prestampa, che incrementa la produttività e

riduce i costi. Il software, che può essere interfacciato con tutte le stampanti, riconosce il perimetro del materiale, e stampa il disegno/texture solo all’interno del materiale; oppure riconosce il materiale e piazza le sagome all’interno del perimetro, pronte per essere stampante; terza possibilità: riconosce il perimetro dei materiali od oggetti posizionati sul piano e identifica le sagome da stampare.

Senza più dover stampare sull’intera area di lavoro si riducono i tempi di stampa, il consumo di inchiostro e si lascia pulito il piano di lavoro.

WHY ARSUTORIA We strongly believe that a career in the field of bags must be funded on a deep knowledge of the product: materials and components, technical constructions, manufacturing and engineering techniques.

ARSUTORIA is the only school based in a fashion capital with an internal sample room where students of the 10-week pattern making and prototyping course can manufacture their prototypes.
