Today the french brand offers a new version of its signature bag, “numéro un”, adopting for the first time a small format: the closure becomes metallic with a brushed gold finish, while the strap is transformed into a brass chain. Just like jewellery pieces, the bag is enriched by high-end elements which are assembled by hand by skilled craftsmen. The collection is enriched by a new range of pastel colours, which joins the timeless black and burgundy. minimalist and refined, the new “numéro six” mini-bag instead plays with the precision of its curves and the sophistication of metal. Delvaux opens in Milan Delvaux apre a Milano After the opening of A second boutique in London, the MAison deLvAux continues to spreAd its “beLgitude” Across europe with the opening of its first boutique in the heArt of MiLAn

the oldest leather goods house in the world has chosen the fashion capital for its first italian opening, with a precious boutique located in via bagutta 12, in the heart of the famous quadrilatero district inside the recently restored palazzo reina. the concept is characterised by an unusual mingling between details and elements of 20th century Milanese design and references to belgium creativity. the boutique covers 200 square meters and is divided into a series of rooms of different sizes and aesthetic atmospheres: large spaces alternate with more intimate ones, where noble materials and neutral colours recall the delicate luxury and refinement of the delvaux creations. the result is a distinctive place, created at the same time as a celebration of delvaux, of “belgitudine” and of the city of Milan. the project was designed by the Milanese firm, vudafieri-saverino partners, which has been responsible for the design of all the delvaux boutiques in the world since 2012 (more than 40, including the last two in London and hong Kong). A concept that uses the language of interior décor to tell the story of the brand using a narrative ability that interprets the context, characteristics and culture of each city. each address corresponds to a unique boutique, in which the delvaux universe gives life to an intimate, personal dialogue between the Maison’s creations and beautiful works of decorative art.

La più antica Maison di pelletteria al mondo ha scelto la Capitale della Moda per la sua prima apertura italiana, con una boutique gioiello, collocata in via Bagutta 12, nel cuore del Quadrilatero, all’interno dello storico Palazzo Reina, recentemente restaurato. Il concept si caratterizza per una inedita commistione tra citazioni ed elementi del design milanese del XX secolo e riferimenti alla creatività belga.

La boutique si sviluppa su 200 metri quadrati ed è articolata in una serie di sale di differenti ampiezze e atmosfere estetiche: ambienti ampi si alternano ad altri più raccolti, dove materiali nobili e colori neutri richiamano il lusso delicato e la raffinatezza delle creazioni Delvaux.

Il risultato è un luogo distintivo, pensato allo stesso tempo come una celebrazione di Delvaux, della “belgitudine” e della città di Milano.

Il progetto è firmato dallo studio milanese Vudafieri-Saverino Partners, che dal 2012 cura la progettazione delle boutique Delvaux nel mondo (oltre 40, tra cui le ultime due a Londra e Hong Kong).

Un concept che utilizza il linguaggio dell’interior decor per raccontare il brand con una capacità narrativa che interpreta il contesto, le caratteristiche e la cultura di ciascuna città. Ad ogni indirizzo corrisponde una boutique unica, in cui l’universo Delvaux dà vita ad un dialogo personale e intimo tra le creazioni della Maison e stupende opere d’arte decorativa.

when one says “summarized in a word”: the name of the brand is a musical term that means “slow dance”, and never a name was so fitting, as if to underline the movements of women who carry their creations on the arm. the brand of high-end accessories, right now on everyone’s lips, was founded two years ago by the genius of youngwon Kim and has conquered the major european squares in a short span of time, thus obtaining a very important international showcase for the growth of the label. the south Korean youngwon Kim studied (and still lives) in london at the college of Fashion, university of the arts london, graduating in 2010 and specializing in 2013, year in which she successfully participates in the international talent support in trieste. the desire to be autonomous in both style and production decisions, pushes her to create her own label. the approach to the world of bags has been cautious having being formed in the world of footwear, whose processing techniques she however succeeded in transferring those into the accessory. each piece is unique, designed with clear precision and made with fine leather. in particular, the designer takes inspiration from contemporary architecture and modern art, from paintings by picasso and the radical and dadaist thinking of Marcel duchamp. london aroused the strings of her creativity, the culturally rich city, loaded in traditions, has been particularly generous with her. elegant, essential and modern, with a touch of originality, colour is a prominent element in all youngown Kim’s creations. the colour block of the leather summarizes the synthetic and geometric shapes of the brand, thus defining an almost genderless, experimental image. neither too small nor too large, bags are suitable for everyday use giving a touch of style thanks to sophisticated geometric shapes and non-trivial, structured and specular volumes, perfect to make the accessory versatile in every occasion, from day to evening.

quando si dice “riassunto in una parola”: il nome del brand è un termine musicale che significa “danza lenta”, e mai nomea è stata così calzante, quasi a voler sottolineare le movenze delle donne che portano al braccio le loro creazioni. il brand di accessori di altissima qualità ormai sulla bocca di tutti è stato fondato dal genio di youngwon Kim due anni fa e in un arco di tempo breve ha conquistato le maggiori piazze europee, ottenendo, così, una vetrina internazionale importantissima per la crescita del suo marchio.

La sudcoreana youngwon Kim ha studiato (e tutt’ora vive) a Londra presso il Fashion, university of arts London, diplomandosi nel 2010 e specializzandosi nel 2013, anno in cui partecipa con successo agli international talent support di trieste. il desiderio di essere autonoma nelle decisioni sia di tipo stilistico sia produttivo, la spinge a creare una propria label.

L’approccio con il mondo delle borse è stato cauto essendosi formata nel mondo del footwear, le cui tecniche di lavorazione è comunque riuscita a traslare nell’accessorio. ogni pezzo è unico, disegnato con nitida precisione e realizzato con pellame pregiato. La designer si ispira all’architettura contemporanea e all’arte moderna, in particolar modo ai quadri di picasso e al pensiero radicale e dadaista di marcel Duchamp. a stuzzicare le corde della sua creatività c’è anche Londra, città culturalmente ricca di tradizioni, che con lei è stata particolarmente generosa. elegantissime, essenziali e moderne, con un tocco di originalità, il colore è elemento in primo piano in tutte le creazioni di youngown Kim. il color block del pellame sintetizza maggiormente le forme sintetiche e geometriche del brand definendo, così, un’immagine sperimentale, quasi genderless. né troppo piccole né troppo grandi, le borse sono adatte per tutti i giorni regalando un tocco in più di stile grazie a forme geometriche sofisticate e non banali, volume strutturati e speculari, perfetti per rendere l’accessorio versatile in ogni occasione, dal giorno alla sera.

“Living Coral” is the colour that Pantone has chosen for 2019 and that will influence fashion, art and design: get ready to see it everywhere on Instagram and in shop windows.

It is number 16-1546, to be precise, a vibrant and enveloping nuance, “sociable and lively, able to encourage carefree activities,” explains Pantone itself. “Living Coral” wants to be a sort of ‘hymn to joy’, able to update every kind of look and give it a touch of dynamism.

It is a gradation with its own character but, at the same time, also extremely versatile, almost neutral. It creates a harmonious dialogue with the whole outfit: designers, in fact, play with combinations with other colors or make it the protagonist of the details, declining it in different shades. The overall effect is a cheerful kaleidoscope, which is a prelude to the warm season and will accompany it with vivacity and vitality.

The international event dedicated to body ornaments now in its sixth edition, will be held for the first time at Palazzo Bovara in Corso di Porta Venezia in Milan, from February 19th to 24th 2019. A not-to-be-missed opportunity to admire the beauty of contemporary jewellery declined in 500 sculptural ornaments, ironic, sometimes on the verge of wearability, inserted in an experiential path divided into themes: avant-garde, innovation, precious and recycling.

The creations on show are of the highest artistic and technical level, most of which created for the project and never exhibited before. Several are the techniques used - from lost wax, laser cutting, filigree, hand finishing, through 3D printing. Gold, silver, titanium, leather, fabric, polymers, diamonds, quartzes, even meteorites, lichens and nanosital are among the materials chosen for bold, original and refined combinations.

L’evento internazionale dedicato ai body ornament, giunto alla sua sesta edizione, per la prima volta si terrà a Palazzo Bovara in Corso di Porta Venezia a Milano dal 19 al 24 febbraio 2019. Un’occasione da non perdere per ammirare la bellezza del gioiello contemporaneo declinata in 500 ornamenti scultorei, ironici, talvolta al limite dell’indossabilità, inseriti in un percorso esperienziale diviso in tematiche: avanguardia, innovazione, prezioso e riciclo. Le creazioni in mostra sono tutte di altissimo livello artistico e tecnico, la maggior parte delle quali create per l’occasione e mai esposte prima al pubblico. Le tecniche impiegate sono le più diverse - dalla cera persa, al taglio laser, dalla filigrana, alle rifiniture a mano, passando per la stampa 3D. Oro, argento, titanio, pelle, tessuto, polimeri, diamanti, quarzi, persino meteorite, licheni e nanosital sono tra i materiali scelti con accostamenti forti, inediti e raffinati.

Première Classe: accessories on the rise Première Classe: accessori in ripresa Held on 18-21 January 2019 at tHe Parc des exPositions at tHe Porte de Versailles in Paris, tHe new edition of wHo’s next/Première classe brougHt togetHer all tHe exHibitors under one banner: clotHing, footwear, leatHer goods, Jewellery and fasHion accessories the exhibiting area consisted of three halls, with france, italy, spain and germany having the highest number of exhibitors. in all, there were about 1,500 brands, with a good presence of accessories, especially footwear and leather goods, which occupied most of hall 3 and some of hall 4. the feeling was that there were more accessories than september 2018. as for the most interesting footwear, certainly the booths of liu.Jo, manas, caprice, tamaris, chie mihara, cafénoir, colmar, m.moustache, meduse, base london, saucony represented the best for men, women and children. italy’s presence was mostly felt in leather goods with brands such as alchimia, anita bilardi, borbonese, ripani, roberta gandolfi, sg83. there was a good international turnout, with visitors coming from all over the world to see the proposals for the autumn-winter 2019-2020. the next who’s next is scheduled for 6-9 september 2019 at Porte de Versailles, while the spring edition of Première classe will be held on 1 – 4 march 2019 at the Jardin des tuileries.

Tre i padiglioni, con Francia, Italia, Spagna e Germania i Paesi con il maggior numero di espositori. In tutto circa 1.500 marchi, che hanno visto una buona presenza degli accessori, soprattutto quella di calzature e pelletteria che occupavano gran parte del padiglione 3, anche se non mancavano alcune presenze anche nel padiglione 4.

La sensazione è che proprio gli accessori fossero in aumento rispetto a settembre 2018. Per la calzatura di rilievo, sicuramente, gli stand di Liu.Jo, Manas, Caprice, Tamaris, Chie Mihara, CaféNoir, Colmar, M.Moustache, Meduse, Base London, Saucony in rappresentanza delle linee per uomo, donna, bambino. Per la pelletteria non possiamo non citare la presenza italiana, con Alchimia, Anita Bilardi, Borbonese, Ripani, Roberta Gandolfi, SG83 in evidenza. Buona l’affluenza, con visitatori provenienti - come sempre - da tutto il mondo per visionare le proposte per l’autunno-inverno 2019-2020.

La prossima edizione di Who’s Next si svolgerà dal 6 al 9 settembre sempre a Porte de Versailles, mentre dal 1 al 4 marzo si svolgerà l’edizione primaverile di Première Classe al Jardin des Tuileries.

This year BAUHAUS is celebrating its 100th birthday. The pioneering school of modernism that turned architecture and design upside down is a never ending source of inspiration for Philippe Bree in the use of colours, geometrical forms and functionality.

As an homage to the anniversary, the Belgian brand along with designer and artist Ayzit Bostan created a capsule collection sporting a visual language of small organic shapes which are placed randomly on different bag styles, made of vegetable tanned leather as it is in the brand’s tradition.

Quest’anno BAUHAUS festeggia il suo centesimo compleanno. La scuola pionieristica del modernismo ha sconvolto l’architettura e il design è una fonte inesauribile di ispirazione per Philippe Bree nell’uso di colori, forme geometriche e funzionalità.

Beyond Animalier In a suggestIve overvIew of almost one hundred pIeces IncludIng dresses, bags, shoes, jewelry and accessorIes, wIth the exhIbItIon “anImalIa fashIon” hIgh fashIon Interprets a fabulous unIverse, where mannequIns become creatures of a modern and poetIc bestIary last january was inaugurated a “zoological tour” (that can be visited until may 2019) in the rooms of the museum of fashion and costume at pitti palace in florence, among the creations of contemporary designers that evoke the most unexpected animal world.there are 18 rooms that host this path of evocative installations inviting you to reflect on the wonders of the universe. the first section is dedicated to arachnids, followed by swans, shells, hedgehogs, fishes, corals, parrots, lobsters, babirusas, porcupine fishes, reptiles, beetles, flies, bees, crocodiles, and ends with butterflies. from france to china, from russia to Italy, apparel, bags, shoes, jewelry and accessories of the haute couture collections from 2000 to 2018 propose an amazing catalogue combined with real

stuffed animals, reptiles and arachnids, but also with antique paintings and objects from the museum of anthropology and ethnography of florence, as well as containing reproductions of drawings taken from ancient bestiaries and pages from medieval tacuina sanitatis. curator patricia lurati interpreted the exhibition as the scenography of an imaginary museum, “in an exciting dialogue with this zoo of fabrics, feathers, leathers, the visitor is involved in the discovery of the wonders of the animal world, which creates unexpected combinations in the imagination of who looks at it and which has been a great source of inspiration for designers”. a fantastic universe, in which fashion, art and nature relate simultaneously in a humourous and poetic way.

Oltre l’animalier In una suggestIva carrellata dI quasI un centInaIo dI pezzI tra abItI, borse, scarpe, gIoIellI e accessorI, l’alta moda Interpreta con la mostra “anImalIa FashIon” un unIverso Favoloso, dove I manIchInI dIventano creature dI un bestIarIo moderno e poetIco Inaugurata a gennaio (e visitabile fino a maggio 2019) nelle sale del museo della moda e del costume di palazzo pitti a Firenze, una “passeggiata zoologica” tra le creazioni di stilisti contemporanei che evocano il mondo animale più inaspettato. sono 18 le sale che ospitano questo percorso di suggestive installazioni che invitano a riflettere sulle meraviglie dell’universo. la prima sezione è dedicata agli aracnidi, si prosegue con i cigni, le conchiglie, i porcospini, i pesci, i coralli, i pappagalli, le aragoste, la babirussa, il pesce istrice, i rettili, gli scarabei, le mosche, le api, i coccodrilli e per concludersi con le farfalle. dalla Francia alla cina, dalla russia all’Italia, gli abiti, borse, scarpe, gioielli e accessori delle collezioni alta moda dal 2000 al 2018 propongono un catalogo sorprendente accostati a veri animali impagliati, rettili e

aracnidi, ma anche a dipinti antichi e oggetti dal museo di antropologia e etnografia di Firenze, nonchè riproduzioni di disegni tratti da antichi bestiari e pagine da tacuina sanitatis medievali. la curatrice patricia lurati ha interpretato la mostra come la scenografia di un museo immaginario, “in un dialogo emozionante con questo zoo di stoffe, piume, pellami, il visitatore viene coinvolto nella scoperta delle meraviglie del mondo animale, che creano accostamenti inaspettati nell’immaginazione di chi guarda e che per gli stilisti è stato grande fonte di ispirazione”. un universo fantastico, in cui moda, arte e natura si rapportano in modo divertente e poetico allo stesso tempo.

Carla Gozzi è stata anche protagonista dell’evento “Share your bag”, che ha portato Gardabags ad aprirsi eccezionalmente al pubblico dei non addetti ai lavori, coinvolgendo circa duecento appassionate di moda che, ispirate dai consigli della fashion coach, hanno scelto nelle collezioni presenti in fiera, e poi postato su Instagram, la borsa ideale per il loro look. Carla Gozzi ha infine scelto tra i selfie postati quello che a suo parere rappresentava il match ideale tra outfit e accessori, decretando la ‘Ambasciatrice di stile’ di Gardabags.

“La borsa è l’oggetto del desiderio di ogni donna, ma anche quello che contiene l’intero suo mondo – afferma Carla Gozzi -. va scelta prima di tutto in base all’occasione: per il giorno, deve essere capiente, con una base rigida per permettere di ritrovare facilmente ogni cosa e con numerosi scomparti e pratiche zip. “the ‘perfect bag’ is for me the one that best represents my lifestyle,” says carla, “therefore it must be practical, functional and designed for movement. i travel a lot for work and pleasure, so my ideal bag must have a slightly rigid bottom and a rational organization of spaces with zippers and compartments that allow me to find what i am looking for easily and quickly. it must also be quite large and capacious to contain my whole world.” carla says that there are also objects that she is particularly fond of and that she moves from one bag to another. “i am very religious and when i change bag i never forget to carry with me some sacred items that are particularly dear to me. over the years, moreover, i have become increasingly aware of the fact that our daily choices, even in terms of clothing, affect the future of humanity. for this reason, i prefer to choose fashion and accessories made by ethical companies that have a certified supply chain. i also love vintage: for its intrinsic value of authenticity and craftsmanship, as well as the experience it brings with it. every object of the past – whether it’s a shoe or a bag – has a unique story to tell.”

carla also tells us about an interesting theory linked to unconscious desires and needs, which are instinctively reflected in our fashion choices. “at least once in her life, a woman has purchased a bag with great enthusiasm and conviction and then, once home, stored it in a closet without ever using it. these purchases are clues for the future: if, for example, you buy a bucket bag, it means that in that moment of life you have a strong need for freedom, just like the colour blue is connected to the sky and higher aspirations than those of your everyday life.”

Being a very precise and rational person (her zodiac sign is libra), carla is often the protagonist of serial purchases. “when i find a model that is particularly practical and functional to my everyday life, which i can wear in a variety of different situations, i have no qualms about buying the same model in different colours!”

But a bag is also purchased on the wave of emotion and often represents a fetish-object from which one separates with displeasure and which goes beyond the fleeting fashion trends. “i believe that shoes are closely linked to the look and are highly influenced by changes in taste. the bag, on the other hand, is a choice connected to a woman’s personality and is often

an element that breaks with the rest of the wardrobe. for this reason, the life of a bag can also be very long and go well beyond the trends of the moment. i often gave away bags without any regrets because they no longer represented me: they were the result of choices made in the past and that in the course of my life i no longer shared. i am thinking in particular of my awareness for the importance of purchasing products that respect human labour and the health of man and the environment. as consumers we have, in fact, a great responsibility and a power that we are not often aware of: each of us can choose what to buy, and therefore we can affect the future of humanity and the world.” last but not least, we ask carla what she thinks of the prevailing trend that sees sneakers and backpacks worn just about anywhere and not just for recreational or sporting activities. “i personally don’t like this sporty look in every situation, also because grace and femininity are often sacrificed: in fact, we must be aware that the clothes and accessories that we wear also affect the way we move and walk. when a woman can feel comfortable and at ease while keeping her femininity intact, then she will finally have found the perfect balance.”

Madrina dell’edizione di gennaio 2019 della fiera gardabags, ci ha raccontato la ‘sua’ borsa ideale e, attraverso di essa, qualcosa in più sulla sua visione della vita in generale “la ‘borsa perfetta’ è per me quella che meglio rappresenta il mio stile di vita racconta carla -: quindi pratica, funzionale, pensata per il movimento”. “viaggio molto per lavoro e per piacere, per cui la mia borsa ideale deve avere un fondo leggermente rigido e un’organizzazione razionale degli spazi con zip e scomparti, che mi permetta di trovare ciò che cerco facilmente e in breve tempo. deve però anche essere piuttosto grande e capiente, per contenere tutto il mio mondo”. carla racconta che ci sono poi degli oggetti cui è particolarmente affezionata, che sposta di volta in volta da una borsa all’altra: “sono molto credente e quando cambio borsa non dimentico mai di portare con me alcuni oggetti sacri cui sono particolarmente legata. nel corso degli anni, inoltre, ho preso sempre più coscienza del fatto che le nostre scelte quotidiane, anche in fatto di abbigliamento, condizionano il futuro dell’umanità. per questo motivo preferisco scegliere capi di moda e accessori di aziende etiche che hanno una filiera certificata. inoltre, adoro il vintage: per il suo intrinseco valore di autenticità e artigianalità, oltre che per il vissuto che porta con sé. ogni oggetto del passato - che sia una calzatura o una borsa ha una storia unica da raccontare”. carla ci parla anche di un’interessante teoria legata ai desideri e ai bisogni inconsci, che si riflettono in modo

inconsapevole anche sulle scelte di moda: “ad ogni donna è capitato almeno una volta nella vita di acquistare una borsa con grande entusiasmo e convinzione e poi, una volta arrivata a casa, di riporla in un armadio senza mai averla indossata. questi acquisti sono indizi per il futuro: se, ad esempio, si acquista una borsa a secchiello, significa che in quel momento della vita è particolarmente forte il bisogno di libertà, così come il blu è un colore legato al cielo e ad aspirazioni più alte di quelle della quotidianità che si sta vivendo ”. essendo una persona molto precisa e razionale (non a caso è del segno zodiacale della bilancia), carla è spesso protagonista di acquisti seriali: “quando trovo un modello particolarmente pratico e funzionale alla vita di tutti i giorni, che posso portare in una molteplicità di situazioni diverse, non mi faccio scrupoli a comprarlo identico in colorazioni diverse!”.

Ma la borsa si acquista anche sull’onda delle emozioni e spesso rappresenta un oggetto-feticcio dal quale ci si separa con dispiacere e che travalica le fugaci tendenze della moda. “ritengo che la calzatura sia strettamente legata al look e che risenta in modo decisivo dei cambiamenti del gusto. la borsa, invece, rappresenta piuttosto una scelta connessa alla personalità di una donna ed è spesso un elemento di rottura con il resto dell’abbigliamento. per questo
