FASHION SQUARE

A spacious area in pavilion 1 where the stands of the most famous high-end brands are to be found. It is here that MICAM’s opening ceremony is held, as well as fashion shows and seminars on fashion trends, marketing and consumer behavior presented by WGSN. Its mirrored ceiling reflects the trade fair’s image campaign, making it the perfect place for visitors to enjoy a cup of coffee and take an original selfie.

FUN SQUARE

Situated in Pavilion 4, the area has LED walls and Oculus play-stations to create a fun VR environment, plus hair styling, make-up and sneaker customisation workstations.

MAN SQUARE

At the entrance to Pavilion 1, inside a huge replica of a man’s shoe, an exclusive barber shop has been set up, where men can have their hair and beards trimmed for free.

STYLE SQUARE

Situated in the centre of pavilion 3 and featuring a gigantic heel installation in the centre, this square hosts performaces by international artists.

iKIDS SQUARE An area dedicated to children’s shoes situated just inside the entrance to pavilion 4.

Talent strides ahead.

In pavilion 4, an area dedicated to emerging Italian and international designers who have distinguished themselves on the contemporary footwear scene, selected by a special panel of fashion experts.

IT’S SHOE TIME!

A virtual journey into 50 years of footwear and a step into the future To celebrate its 50th birthday, MICAM explores the essence of shoes through a digital exhibition set up in Hall 1 stand M21-29 N22-30, under the patronage of the Municipality of Milan.

All visitors to MICAM will receive a free 50th Anniversary T-shirt and, if you want, you can ask an illustrator to draw a portrait of yourself on it.

From 19 to 22 September 2019, the exhibition will be transferred to the MUDEC – Milan Cultures Museum (free entry).

a virtù sta nel mezzo. Aforisma latino che invita a cercare equilibrio, a trovare un buon bilanciamento fra estremi opposti. Un filo rosso che tesse la trama di questo numero, a partire dalle parole del futurologo Gerd Leonhard che invita le persone, e la moda in particolare, a riflettere sul giusto mix fra Tecnologia e Umanità, fra algoritmi ed emozioni.

Una lezione che il mondo della distribuzione cinese pare aver compreso appieno vista la strategia vincente di alternare spinta e-commerce con pop-up store fisici. I numeri danno ragione a un mercato verso cui bisognerà volgere lo sguardo per capire come muoversi nell’immediato futuro: il business online dei prodotti in Cina, pari a 633,9 miliardi di dollari (563 miliardi di euro), supererà i mille miliardi di dollari (974 miliardi di euro) nel 2023, con un ritmo di crescita del 11,6% annuo [dati Statista].

Giulio Finzi, senior partner Netcomm Services, spiega dove scovare l’equilibrio in questa crescita esponenziale: «L’interazione on/ offline è fondamentale, perché il consumatore pretende di vivere la stessa esperienza in tutti i canali. Tutti i punti vendita devono essere trasformarti in touch point esperienziali, con social integrati all’e-commerce».

Di equilibrio parla anche Siro Badon, neo presidente di Assocalzaturifici, che vuole un’Associazione sempre più attenta a mantenere MICAM la più importante fiera della calzatura al mondo, ma che si occupi anche di fornire servizi riguardo temi centrali come formazione e sostenibilità.

C’è poi l’equilibrio impareggiabile dei ballerini dello Spirit de Milan, una delle location iconiche dei tanti servizi moda di questo numero, in cui la donna è protagonista.

Anna Dello Russo, appassionata di yoga (in cui l’equilibrio la fa da padrona), parla del futuro delle riviste, del mondo digitale, del suo amore per i tacchi…

E chi meglio della fantastica pattinatrice Francesca Lollobrigida sa cosa significhi viaggiare in equilibrio, velocissimi, su piccole ruote in linea!?

Ma se volete sbilanciarvi un poco… divertitevi con la “dietrologia” di Giusi Ferré.

Virtue lies in the middle. A Latin aphorism that invites us to look for balance, to find a good equilibrium between opposite extremes. A common thread that weaves the weft of this issue, starting with futurologist Gerd Leonhard, who invites people, and fashion in particular, to think about the right mix between Technology and Humankind, between algorithms and emotions.

A lesson the Chinese distribution sector seems to have fully understood given its winning strategy of alternating an e-commerce drive with physical pop-up stores. Numbers confirm we will need to look to that market in order to understand how to proceed in the immediate future: the online business of Chinese products, which amounts to 633.9 billion dollars (563 billion euros), will exceed a thousand billion dollars (974 billion euros) in 2023, with an annual 11.6% growth rate [Statista data].

Siro Badon, the new president of Assocalzaturifici – who wants an Association that makes sure more and more that MICAM remains the most important footwear trade fair in the world, but also that it provides services for central themes such as training and sustainability – also talks of balance.

Then there is the incomparable balance of the dancers of Spirit de Milan, one of the iconic locations of the many fashion shoots in this issue, in which women are protagonists.

Anna Dello Russo, a yoga enthusiast (in yoga balance rules), talks of the future of magazines, of the digital world, of her love for high heels…

bbiamo incontrato il nuovo presidente di Assocalzaturifici, Siro Badon che delinea un quadro di quello che sarà il suo mandato affrontando temi come sostenibilità, formazione, internazionalizzazione, “made in” e Micam.

INTERVIEW

Dopo 35 anni la presidenza torna alla Riviera del Brenta, cosa significa per lei e per il suo distretto? “È una profonda soddisfazione e conferma Acrib una delle territoriali più rinomate del palcoscenico produttivo della calzatura italiana”.

Quali saranno le priorità sulla quali focalizzerà il suo mandato?

“Secondo me l’associazione deve essere interpretata in maniera un po’ diversa da come la si è vista fino ad ora. È ben altro che una semplice organizzatrice di fiere. Deve cominciare a parlare di ecosostenibilità. Deve cominciare a parlare di formazione, ma a livelli importanti. Deve diventare anche una struttura di servizi, perché oggi i nostri imprenditori hanno bisogno di andare nel mondo con prerogative completamente diverse. Naturalmente un grosso aiuto bisogna anche che l’imprenditore se lo dia da solo. Perché l’associazione non ha la bacchetta magica, non è onnipotente.

Quello che saremo in grado di fare è orientare, consigliare e supportare l’attività dell’imprenditore, siglando accordi e facendo azioni di lobby”.

Continuerà l’impegno con Confindustria Moda…

“Oramai siamo un anello della catena di Confindustria Moda. Lavorando assieme, ognuno prenderà vantaggio di un qualcosa che ha l’altro e viceversa”.

Come raccoglierà la questione del “made in”?

“Dobbiamo continuare nella battaglia ormai quindicennale. Il discorso del made in riguarda il riconoscimento del prodotto: sappiamo benissimo che politicamente abbiamo dei problemi. Cercheremo tuttavia di portare avanti il discorso, magari trovando un’alternativa, per una specializzazione del prodotto italiano. E proseguiremo l’attività di lobby con i vari soggetti istituzionali, nazionali ed europei”.

Il futuro del Micam? “È la più importante fiera internazionale del mondo, lo era in passato e lo sarà anche in futuro. Ci potranno essere investimenti da parte delle associazioni per abbellirla, per portarla più in alto. E di idee ne abbiamo parecchie. Prima di tutto istituiremo un Comitato Tecnico-Scientifico composto da Rappresentanti di Confindustria Moda, esperti nel mondo fashion, influencer, sociologi, analisti dei consumi di settore ed espositori, che interagisca e dialoghi con la presidenza per rendere sempre più ampia e strategica la partecipazione di aziende e buyer alla manifestazione”.

E sui mercati internazionali?

“Le politiche di internazionalizzazione verranno sostenute e potenziate, in collaborazione con Ice, attraverso missioni promozionali e commerciali, scouting sui mercati e programmi di incoming per far conoscere alla clientela internazionale gli asset del calzaturiero: storia, tradizione, saper fare, ma soprattutto saper vivere, il lifestyle italiano”.

Siro Badon: impresa e vita associativa Padovano, Siro Badon entra nel 1975 nell’azienda di famiglia, il calzaturificio De Robert di Saonara, e nel corso degli anni ricopre diversi ruoli, dalla gestione produttiva a quella amministrativa, per poi dedicarsi al commerciale e aprire importanti sbocchi sia nel Nord Europa che in Asia, attività per la quale riceve il premio “Marco Polo” da Unioncamere Veneto nel 2010. Intensa anche la vita corporativa, che l’ha visto sedere nel Consiglio Generale di Confindustria Venezia Rovigo, di NeaFidi, Confindustria Padova, Confindustraia Veneto, Politecnico Calzaturiero, e assumere la vice-presidenza di Assocalzaturifici con delega alla formazione. Da otto anni è presidente di Acrib, l’Associazione dei Calzaturieri della Riviera Brenta.

We met up with the new President of Assocalzaturifici, Siro Badon who presents an outline of his tenure and discusses themes like sustainability, training, internationalisation, ‘Made in’, and Micam.

After 35 years, the presidency returns to Riviera del Brenta with your nomination. What significance does this have for you and your district?

“It is a great satisfaction and a confirmation that ACRIB is one of the most renowned territories on the productive panorama of Italian footwear”.

What will be the priorities on which your term of office will focus?

“The Association must be seen a little differently from the way it’s been seen up until now. It is much more than a simple organiser of trade fairs. It must start speaking of eco-sustainability. It must begin to speak of training, but of a higher level. It must also become a structure of services, because today our entrepreneurs have a need to go out into the world, but with completely different prerogatives. Naturally, entrepreneurs must also give themselves a big helping hand, because the association does not have a magic wand and is not omnipotent. What we can do is orient businesses, provide advice and support the activities of entrepreneurs by signing agreements and lobbying”.

The collaboration with Confindustria Moda will of course continue…

“We are by now a ring in the chain of Confindustria Moda. Working together, each one takes advantage of what the other one has and vice versa”.

How will you handle the ‘Made in’ issue?

“We must continue to fight this battle that has now been underway for the last fifteen years. ‘Made in’ is a matter of identifying the product: we know very well that politically speaking we have problems.

Nevertheless, we will do our best to move forward with this issue, by maybe finding an alternative for the specialisation of the Italian product. And we will continue to lobby on various institutional, national and European issues”.

The future of Micam?

“It is the most important international fair worldwide, it was in the past and it will also be so in the future. There could be eventual investments by the associations aimed at improving its look and raising it up as high as possible. And we have a lot of ideas in this regard. First and foremost, we would set up a Technical-Scientific Committee made up by Representatives of Confindustria Moda, experts in the world of fashion, influencers, sociologists, analysts of consumer trends and exhibitors, which would interact and discuss with the presidency to make the participation of businesses and buyers in the event increasingly extensive and strategic”.

And on international markets?

“Policies of internationalisation will be supported and reinforced, in collaboration with ICE, through promotional and business missions, scouting on markets and targeted programs for incoming delegations to introduce the assets of our footwear manufacturers to international clientele including its history, tradition, know-how, and above all its ability to faithfully present the Italian lifestyle”.

Siro Badon: business and associative life Originally from Padua, in 1975, he became part of the Calzaturificio De Robert di Saonara shoe company owned by his family, and over the years, he has covered various roles, from production and administration management, to sales and the opening up to end markets in both Northern Europe and Asia. An activity for which he was recognized in 2010, with the granting of the “Marco Polo” award by the Unioncamere Veneto. With a corporative life just as intense as his professional one, he has sat on the Board of Directors of Confindustria Venezia Rovigo, of NeaFidi, Confindustria Padova, Confindustria Veneto, Politecnico Calzaturiero and acted as Assocalzaturifici Vice President in charge of education and professional training. For the last eight years, he also covered the role of President in ACRIB, the Association of Riviera del Brenta Footwear Manufacturers.

hissà se quando se lo lasciò sfuggire in un’intervista, da visionario che seguiva le proprie ossessioni, Tinto Brass immaginava di anticipare un’epoca più che un’estetica. “Sedere è potere” descrive qualcosa di più di un desiderio sessuale visto che per il maschio il fondoschiena è un punto di massima attrazione. Sull’anatomia aerodinamica delle natiche di fuori si fonda un concetto di bellezza invadente, vedi il caso di Diletta Leotta che Roberto D’Agostino definisce con una certa brutalità “la meglio bistecca del pianeta televisivo”, anche se non stiamo parlando di una soubrette o ballerina ma di una giornalista che in teoria dovrebbe essere in posizione frontale più che di schiena. Ma l’Italia ha le sue pioniere, come Valeria Marini che non a caso ama circolare per Roma in miniabito strizzato e leopardato, che la disegna come una seconda pelle esaltando un derrière degno di nota. Anche se è nulla al confronto di quello sfoggiato da Kim Kardashian e dalle sue emule, le due blogger Sonia e Fyza Ali, sostitute di Kim e di Kylie.

Come l’irachena Huda Kattan, che ispirandosi anche al senso degli affari delle celebri sorelle ha fondato la sua linea di cosmetici HudaBeauty. Per non parlare di quella lanciata nel giugno 2017 da Kim, KKW Beauty, a conclusione di un lungo percorso di tutorial cominciato nel 2007 con uno shooting per Vegas Magazine.

Sono 150 milioni i fedeli che su Instagram seguono ogni mutamento del viso e del corpo di questa sex bomb, diventata famosa sempre nel 2007 per il reality “Al passo con i Kardashian”. E se per realizzare un maquillage simile al suo, messo a punto da Mario Dedivanovic, il truccatore in carica di Kim, servono strumenti e prodotti per il contouring (il gioco di luci e di ombre che ridisegna il viso) per circa 2.200 euro, replicarne il sedere da Venere Callipigia è un’autentica impresa. Eppure, secondo l’Associazione Italiana di Chirurgia Estetica Plastica, la richiesta di impianti alle natiche è cresciuta del 29%, mentre negli USA, precisa l’American Society of Plastic Surgery, dal 2000 al 2018 è lievitata del 256%. Merito, se vogliamo definirlo così, di chi ha inventato il booty cult ben prima che si affermassero Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé e Kim Kardashian. Cioè la stupenda Jennifer Lopez che ancora oggi, a 50 anni, è indicata dalla rivista spagnola People tra le 25 donne più belle e potenti al mondo. A 39, previdente, aveva assicurato il suo sublime popotin per 27 milioni di dollari. E per accrescerne il valore, ha creato anche una collezione di leggins per Niyama Sol, disponibile con l’hashtag: #whentheleggingmakethebodylookgood. È una superstar imitatissima la donna che viene dal Bronx e adesso conta 89 milioni di iscritti al suo profilo Instagram. E, per inciso, è arrivata alla quarta richiesta di nozze da parte, questa volta, del giocatore di baseball Alex Rodriguez.

Poi, sul palcoscenico mondiale si è presentata Lizzo, nata Melissa Jefferson di Detroit, la neo-diva nera, scorretta e supercurvy. Nuda sulla copertina del suo ultimo album “Cuz I Love You”, ha battuto queen Beyoncé nelle vendite iTunes. Ritenuta la principale portavoce del Body Positive Movement, grazie anche alla meravigliosa disinvoltura con cui esibisce in pubblico le sue forme extralarge e gli abiti stravaganti che ama indossare. E se prima non trovava abiti adatti a lei, in un’intervista ha dichiarato che “la moda normale è come se non avesse mai abbastanza stoffa per fare i miei vestiti”, oggi è Marc Jacobs a proporle un abito intensamente rosa con mantello di piume per il suo debutto al Met Gala. Con questa esplosiva eroina, che in collant fluorescenti e paillettati si dedica al twerking con entusiasmo, ogni ipotetico confine riguardo silhouette e dimensioni appare superato. Flautista senza pari – a 12 anni prendeva lezioni di flauto traverso e a 13 già suonava “Il Carnevale di Venezia” di Giulio Briccialdi – ha addirittura inventato una nuova disciplina: il “twerk and flute”. Inimmaginabile esaltazione del sedere.

I wonder if Tinto Brass, the visionary who followed his own obsessions, knew that he was anticipating an era rather than an aesthetic when he let the words slip out in an interview. “Sedere è potere” describes something more than a sexual desire given that men consider the butt to be the most attractive part of a woman’s body.

The aerodynamic anatomy of buttocks is the basis of a concept of intrusive beauty, as in the case of Diletta Leotta, who Roberto D’Agostino brutally defined as “the best rump steak on television,” even though she is not a showgirl or dancer but a journalist who in theory should be facing forwards and not backwards.

But Italy has its pioneers, like Valeria Marini, who loves getting around Rome in a tight leopard-print minidress which sticks to her like a second skin, showing off a noteworthy derrière. Although it is nothing compared to Kim Kardashian and her emulators, the two bloggers Sonia and Fyza Ali, substitutes for Kim and Kylie.

Or the Iraqi Huda Kattan who, inspired by the business sense of the famous sisters, founded her own cosmetics line HudaBeauty.

Without forgetting the line launched in June 2017 by Kim, KKW Beauty, the culmination of a long process of tutorials that began in 2007 with a shooting for Vegas Magazine.

The woman from the Bronx is a much-imitated superstar who now has 89 million followers on Instagram. And incidentally has arrived at her fourth wedding proposal, this time from the baseball player, Alex Rodriguez.

If before she couldn’t find clothes suitable to wear and said in an interview that “it seems as if normal fashion doesn’t have enough fabric to make my clothes,” today it is Marc Jacobs who offered her a bright pink dress with feather cloak to wear at her debut at the Met Gala. With this explosive heroine, who enthusiastically twerks in fluorescent and sequin tights, every hypothetical boundary regarding silhouette and size seems to have been overcome. I

ncontro Anna Dello Russo a Massafra, in Puglia, sua terra d’origine a cui è molto legata, luogo dove trascorre tutto il suo tempo libero, dedicandosi all’amatissimo Yoga.

L’occasione è la 22a edizione del “Magna Grecia Awards”, manifestazione che quest’anno ha premiato la resilienza delle donne.

Proprio lei ha voluto dimostrare la sua vicinanza all’evento, soprattutto per l’amicizia che la lega a Fabio Salvatore, fondatore e organizzatore, premiando la giovane designer Carlotta Oddi, che con le sue collezioni di cardigan in cachemire arricchiti di richiami etnici, è riuscita a stuzzicare il desiderio femminile.

ADR, questo è l’acronimo della fashion icon, ormai famosa in tutto il mondo. Una donna estremamente decisa e consapevole, che ha capito sin da subito chi fosse e cosa volesse fare da grande, dopo essersi laureata in arte e letteratura a Bari.

Era 1986 quando si trasferì a Milano per conseguire un master in Design della moda alla Domus Academy.

Nel 1988 inizia a lavorare con Franca Sozzani, storico direttore di Vogue Italia, per ben ventotto anni fino alla sua scomparsa.

Proprio nel ruolo di stylist ebbe il suo primo ingaggio per Condé Nast, per poi evolversi in redattrice moda, arrivando alle massime vette, come quella di direttore de L’Uomo Vogue dal 2002 al 2006.

Proprio nel 2006 viene chiamata a ricoprire quello che forse rimane il suo incarico più importante, ovvero la direzione creativa di Vogue Japan, dove tutt’oggi lavora.

Mi confessa di essere una vera e propria collezionista di abiti e accessori: a Milano possiede due appartamenti, di cui uno dedicato esclusivamente al guardaroba.

La scelta dell’accessorio giusto, scarpe e borsa, è sempre il momento più delicato, in quanto sono la vera firma dell’outfit… e lei si prende sempre il suo tempo per decidere.

Nel 2012 la passione per gli accessori si è trasformata in una cap-

sule collection per H&M, presentata a Parigi al Paradis Latin, noto locale della capitale francese. Un successo di livello globale, dovuto a una moda attuale e versatile che diventa accessibile a tutti.

Scarpe, borse, occhiali e valigie… insomma tutto ciò che una donna glamour può desiderare.

Ovviamente per Anna gli accessori del desiderio sono tutti materializzabili ancor prima abbia il tempo di sognarli. Alla domanda, quale il prossimo must-have dello stile, risponde in tutta sincerità: “Il prossimo, quello che arriverà”.

Il suo lavoro è cambiato radicalmente nel tempo, infatti, dopo quasi 20 anni dietro la macchina fotografica, da più di un decennio si è spostata di fronte all’obiettivo a causa dell’avvento dei social, che ha dato visibilità a tutti gli addetti ai lavori.

E chi più di lei ha saputo sfruttare il mezzo di comunicazione? Beh, direi nessuno. Anzi, ha fatto e farà ancora scuola per molto tempo.

Non esita a dire che trae ispirazione ovunque vi sia fascino. Tante le donne che l’hanno fatta sognare. Per citarne alcune: ovviamente Franca Sozzani e Anna Piaggi.

Durante questo periodo storico di rivoluzione mediatica – sostiene - vi sarà un resetting per quanto riguarda la vita delle riviste cartacee. Saranno sempre più un tempio dell’alta qualità, sempre più di nicchia, proprio come è successo per il vinile nella musica.

Saranno prodotti ricercati, mentre il futuro sarà del digitale.

Mi parla del rinnovo continuo delle nuove generazioni di designer, e mi garantisce che c’è da stupirsi tutti i giorni. Tra tutti Virgil Abloh, ora direttore artistico di Louis Vuitton, che considera il capofila dei nuovi talenti nati sul digitale.

Ovviamente ama i tacchi più della sua vita. Però mi confessa di utilizzarli solo ed esclusivamente per gli eventi in quanto, praticando tanto yoga, è sempre scalza.

Al suo ruolo di direttore creativo ora affianca l’essere Ambassador per l’istituto di moda milanese Marangoni, una vera istituzione a livello mondiale: “È per me una grande opportunità di sperimentare nuovi linguaggi insieme agli studenti”.

ADR, this is the acronym of the fashion icon, now famous all over the world. An extremely determined and aware woman, who immediately understood who she was and what she wanted to be when she grew up, after graduating in art and literature in Bari.

It was 1986 when she moved to Milan to obtain a master’s degree

in fashion design at the Domus Academy.

In 1988 she began working with Franca Sozzani, historical director of Vogue Italia, and has been working with her for twenty-eight years until her death.

She was first hired as stylist for Condé Nast, and then evolved into a fashion editor, reaching the highest peaks, becoming the director of L’Uomo Vogue from 2002 to 2006.

In 2006, she was asked to fill what is perhaps her most important position, namely the creative direction of Vogue Japan, where she still works today.

She confessed to me that she is a true collector of clothes and accessories: in Milan she has two apartments, one of which is exclusively dedicated to her wardrobe.

Choosing the right accessory, shoes and bag, is always the most delicate moment, as they are the true signature of the outfit ... and she always takes her time to decide.

In 2012 the passion for accessories was transformed into a capsule collection for H&M, presented in Paris at the Paradis Latin, a well-known venue in the French capital. A global success, due to a current and versatile fashion that becomes accessible to everyone.

Shoes, bags, glasses and suitcases ... in short, everything a glamorous woman could want.

Obviously, all the accessories Anna wishes for are available to her, even before she dreams of them. To the question, what is the next must-have of style, she answers in all sincerity: “The next that will come”.

Her work has changed radically over time, in fact, after almost 20 years behind the camera, for more than a decade she has shifted in front of the camera due to the advent of social media, which has given visibility to all professionals.

And who more than her knew how to exploit the means of communication? Well, I’d say nobody. Indeed, she did and still will lead the way for a long time. She does not hesitate to say that she draws inspiration wherever there is charm. Many women have made her dream. To name a few: of course Franca Sozzani and Anna Piaggi.

During this historical period of media revolution - she says - there will be a resetting with regard to the life of printed magazines. They will become a temple of high quality, increasingly niche products, just like happened for vinyl in the music world. They will become sought after products, while the future will be digital.

She speaks to me of the continuous renewal of new generations of designers assuring me that there will be wonder every day. Among all Virgil Abloh, now artistic director of Louis Vuitton, whom she considers the leader of all the new talents of the digital world.

She obviously loves heels more than her life. But she confesses of wearing them exclusively during events since, practicing so much yoga, she is always barefoot.

Her role as creative director is now supported by being an Ambassador for the Milanese fashion institute Marangoni, a true global institution: “It is a great opportunity for me to experiment new languages together with the students”.

e mie due stagioni? Quella delle rotelle e quella delle lame, vissute con identica passione per la velocità, per quel senso di forza, di potenza che scorre nelle vene quando voli col vento. Lo skate mi ha regalato soddisfazioni indimenticabili, ma solo il pattinaggio su ghiaccio può soddisfare l’ambizione del podio olimpico. Così continuo ad allenarmi, con doppio sforzo rispetto alle mie colleghe, io che ho iniziato tardi questa disciplina, ma che ho già regalato all’Italia il primo podio europeo.

E allora via, sei mesi sugli schettini, e sei sul ghiaccio… in volata verso il traguardo di Pechino!

Romana, classe 1991, Francesca Lollobrigida sui pattini a rotelle ha vinto tutto quello che c’era da vincere, inanellando 14 campionati mondiali di pattinaggio in linea. Ora ha deciso di intraprendere una nuova sfida, quella del ghiaccio. E, anche se a Pyeong Chang non ce l’ha fatta, punta su Pechino ‘22 per conquistarsi il più prestigioso podio. Intanto, col bronzo nel “all round” agli europei di Collalbo, ha portato per la prima volta l’Italia sul podio.

“My two seasons? One on wheels and one on blades, lived with the same passion for speed, for that sense of strength and power that runs through your veins when you fly with the wind. Rollerskating gave me unforgettable satisfactions, but it is only ice skating that can satisfy the ambition of the Olympic podium. Hence I continue training, with double effort compared to my colleagues, I who started this discipline late, but giving Italy already the first European podium. So let’s go ahead, six months on rollerskates, and six months on the ice ... sprinting towards the finish line in Beijing!”

The great tradition in Milan

S

pirit de Milan è molto più di un locale, molto più di una sala da ballo o di un palco teatrale, più di un ristorante e di un giardino all’aperto: è un modo tutto milanese di vivere arte, musica, spettacolo e cultura. Alla base del progetto una filosofia improntata all’inclusività, guidata dalla voglia di aggregare, con eventi per la maggior parte dei casi accessibili gratuitamente, sull’esempio delle “public house” irlandesi.

Durante lo shooting in onore del festival Swing’n’Milan, che si terrà nella “Cattedrale” dello Spirit de Milan dal 10 al 13 ottobre, Luca Locatelli – il proprietario – ci ha spiegato come la necessità di trovare, in vista dell’Expo 2015, uno spazio dove ospitare progetti di convivialità a tavola, per incentivare lo stare insieme in modo nuovo scoprendo culture diverse, lo abbia condotto a concepire un locale polifunzionale, dove la milanesità fosse asse portante.

“Mi sono accorto che a Milano un po’ manca la cultura dello stare insieme, così abbiamo dato vita a un luogo che offrisse un’esperienza di condivisione concreta, in carne e ossa, ben distante da quella tecnologica dei social che falsa il rapporto tra le persone.

Un’opportunità d’aggregazione con serate di ballo, canto, cabaret e… cibo. Insomma, spingiamo la gente a uscire dalla propria quotidianità e a socializzare. L’arte costa e va sostenuta, ma soprattutto rispettata: il nostro intento è vendere birre per fare concerti, e non fare concerti per vendere birre”.

E allora da Spirit de Milan ci si imbatte nei corsi di “milanesità” per abbracciare la ricca tradizione della canzone e della poesia milanese. “Barbabietole e Spinazz” è un corso di dialetto, dove convivono il sorriso, una certa serietà, nonché la voglia di riappropriarsi della tradizione legata a nonni e genitori.

Oppure, se si capita in Via Bovisasca 57/59, nella serata del “Cabaret Bovisa” si vive, per l’appunto, l’atmosfera anti-televisiva del cabaret, che mescola risate e malinconia, nonsense e profondità.

Ah, da non dimenticare che, fra tutte queste sollecitazioni dei sensi, non manca quella del gusto. Nella trattoria dello Spirit de Milan si assaporano pietanze genuine, ben lontane dalla nuova generazione di chef stellati: “E ci sarebbero molti piatti della tradizione che ci piacerebbe riproporre, ma dobbiamo stare attenti ai gusti, decisamente cambiati!”.

Anche lo swing ha un posto d’onore allo Spirit de Milan. Ogni anno, a ottobre, viene organizzato lo Swing’n’Milan: “La passione per questo genere ha fatto sì che nel 2013 decidessimo di creare una ‘Cattedrale dello swing’ per ospitare ballerini di Lombardia e dintorni, nonché stranieri. Il progetto è stato seguito da un’artista d’eccezione, Norma Miller, che negli ultimi due anni è venuta sei volte allo Spirit de Milan e alla quale abbiamo dedicato la cattedrale in seguito alla sua scomparsa il 5 maggio scorso”. Il festival Swing’n’Milan è una immersione nello scenario degli anni ’20 e ’40.

Ballerini e aziende (si va dal mondo del whiskey al “trucco e parrucco”, dall’abbigliamento agli accessori più vari, fino ai sigari) contribuiscono a creare atmosfere vintage swing di assoluto fascino.

Spirit de Milan is much more than a place, much more than a ballroom or a theater stage, more than a restaurant and an outdoor garden: it’s a typical way in Milan of experiencing art, music, entertainment and culture. At the base of the project is a philosophy based on inclusiveness, guided by the desire to hang out together, with mostly free events, based on the example of Irish “public houses”.

During the shooting in honour of the Swing’n’Milan festival, to be held at the “Cathedral” of the Spirit de Milan from 10 to 13 October, Luca Locatelli - the owner - explained to us how, in view of Expo 2015, the need to find a space where conviviality at a table could be hosted to encourage people to stay together in a new way by discovering different cultures, has led them to conceive a multi-purpose room, where the Milan essence would constitute the cornerstone.

“I realised that in Milan the culture of staying together is lacking a little, so we have created a place that offers an experience of concrete sharing, in the flesh, far from the social media’s technological one that distorts relationships between people. An opportunity to get together with dance evenings, singing, cabaret and... food. In short, we push people to get out of their daily lives and socialise.

Art costs and must be supported, but above all respected: our intent is to sell beers to play concerts, and not to play concerts to sell beers”.

At Spirit de Milan you will, thus, come across the “Milan essence” courses to embrace Milan’s rich song and poetry tradition. “Barbabietole e Spinazz” is a dialect course, where smiles and a certain seriousness coexist, as well as the desire to regain possession of the tradition tied to grandparents and parents.

Or, if you happen to end up in Via Bovisasca 57/59, during the evening of the “Cabaret Bovisa” you live, as a matter of fact, the anti-television atmosphere of the cabaret, which mixes laughter and melancholy, nonsense and depth.

Ah, not to forget that, among all these solicitations of senses, that of taste is not missing. In the restaurant of the Spirit de Milan you can taste genuine dishes, far from the new generation of star chefs: “And there would be many traditional dishes that we would like to propose again, but we have to be careful about the definitely changed tastes!”.

Even swing has a place of honour at the Spirit de Milan. Every year, in October, the Swing’n’Milan is organised: “The passion for this genre has ensured that in 2013 we decided to create a ‘Cathedral of swing’ to host dancers from Lombardy and surroundings, as well as foreigners. The project was followed by an exceptional artist, Norma Miller, who in the last two years came to the Spirit de Milan six times and to whom we dedicated the cathedral following her death on last 5 May”. The Swing’n’Milan festival is an immersion in the scenery of the 20s and 40s. Dancers and companies (ranging from the world of whiskey to “hair and makeup”, from clothing to various accessories, to cigars) contribute to creating absolute charming vintage swing atmospheres.

Andrea Alletto “Andlù” Eyes and emotions

“

Ho la Sicilia dentro di me - la mia famiglia e il mare - e ho sempre respirato l’arte. Fin da bambino mi è sempre piaciuto disegnare. Ricordo che a scuola, durante le lezioni, ai margini dei miei quaderni di appunti disegnavo sempre. Occhi principalmente. Ho quaderni pieni di occhi. Durante le pause dalle lezioni, io disegnavo occhi e immaginavo emozioni.

Oggi come allora, i miei disegni sono estemporanei e immediati. Disegno su qualsiasi tipo di superficie, proprio per dare sfogo ad un momento preciso, ad una sensazione. Dipingo su quello che ho sottomano e tutti i volti, maschili o femminili, hanno sempre qualcosa di me: a volte una nota di malinconia o tristezza, a volte un’emozione o un sorriso, una speranza. Sono tutte emozioni che vivono dentro di me. Spesso i miei disegni sono incompleti e questo proprio perché le sensazioni che rappresento non sono durevoli e smettono di essere presenti dentro di me mentre dipingo, e il disegno si ferma.

Quando comincio, parto sempre dagli occhi, poi vado avanti, ma se gli occhi non mi convincono, il resto perde identità e non proseguo oltre. La mia arte non è molto collegata al mondo della moda, anche se tempo fa mi venne chiesto di disegnare su dei tessuti per abiti. Era un progetto interessante, potevo disegnare i miei volti e non dovevo seguire delle linee guida. Amo qualsiasi tipo di sperimentazione, mi aiuta a mettermi alla prova. Mi piace sperimentare nuovi materiali. Di recente, ad esempio, ho molto ‘giocato’ con delle padelle, oppure ho scomposto degli scatoloni di cartone per dipingervi all’interno e poi riportarli alla forma originaria, o ancora ho dipinto su carta da imballaggio. Sono sempre alla ricerca di nuove superfici…sono sempre alla ricerca di me stesso”.

“Sicily is inside and a part of me – along with my family and the seaside – I have always breathed an air of art. Ever since I was a child, I have always enjoyed drawing. I remember that at school during class, I would often sketch on the margins of my notebooks, designing mostly eyes. I have notebooks full of eyes. During my breaks, I would design eyes and imagine emotions. Now as then, my drawings are sudden and immediate. I’m willing to draw on any kind of surface so I can capture a precise moment or sensation. I paint on whatever is on hand and all the faces I create of both men and women always have a small part of me inside them: sometimes a melancholy or sad note, at other times an emotion, a smile, or even a hope. They are all emotions that live inside of me. My designs are often unfinished, and this is because the sensations they represent are sometimes fleeting and cease to exist inside of me while I’m painting, and so the work remains incomplete.

When I start creating, I always start from the eyes, and then move on from there, but if the eyes don’t convince me, the rest of the drawing loses its identity and I stop working on it. My art is not closely connected to the world of fashion, even if a while back I was asked to design on the fabrics of some garments. It was an interesting project and I was given free rein to design my faces without having to following any kind of guidelines. I love any kind of experimentation because it challenges me, and I enjoy experimenting with new materials. Recently, for example, I ‘played around’ quite a bit with pans and I disassembled some cardboard boxes so I could paint on the inside of them and then reassemble them into their original shapes. I even painted on wrapping paper. I am always in search of new surfaces… and always in search of myself”.

Andrea Alletto nasce ad Agrigento, in Sicilia, dove vive ancora tutta la sua famiglia. Si trasferisce a Milano dopo la laurea, dove ancor oggi vive e lavora come insegnante di lettere e come artista. Firma le sue opere come “Andlù”: un nome che ha una radice familiare perché così lo chiamava il nonno da piccolo.

Andrea Alletto was born in Agrigento, in Sicily, where his entire family still lives. He moved to Milan after graduating from college and he still lives and works there today as a teacher of literature and artist. He signs his works with the name “Andlù”: a nickname given to him by his grandfather when he was a little boy.

Success at the 2019 HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL FUR & FASHION FAIR

L

a fiera internazionale della moda e della pelliccia di Hong Kong si è svolta su quattro giorni con successo lo scorso febbraio. Il salone annuale ha presentato le ultime collezioni di pellicce e moda, materie prime di alta qualità, nuovi accessori e altri prodotti da oltre 180 espositori provenienti da 10 Paesi e regioni. Attirando buyer da oltre 30 Paesi, la principale fiera commerciale per i prodotti di pellicceria di qualità ha registrato quest’anno un ordine totale di oltre 80 milioni di dollari.In linea con l’evoluzione del mercato globale delle pellicce, l’edizione 2019 ha visto strategie più diversificate con l’introduzione di design vivaci, leggeri e confortevoli con silhouette più asciutte per attirare i giovani consumatori. Quest’anno anche gli espositori storici hanno deliziato gli acquirenti con offerte diversificate, presentando look freschi che hanno incorporato elementi di piumini o parka di pelliccia. Inoltre, il settore delle pellicce si tiene al passo con i cambiamenti con le innovazioni delle materie prime.

Gli ordini dalla Cina hanno registrato una crescita robusta del 97%, riflettendo l’emergere di una nuova comunità di consumatori (che comprende la classe medio-alta, la classe benestante, i consumatori di nuova generazione e gli acquirenti online) in un Paese che sperimenta un rapido sviluppo sociale ed economico.

Anche gli ordini dalla Germania e dall’Italia hanno registrato una solida crescita rispettivamente del 64% e del 65%, suggerendo che la domanda dai mercati tradizionali rimane forte. Anche gli ordini da Turchia, Spagna e Dubai sono aumentati, manifestando il riconoscimento da parte dei consumatori e degli attori internazionali degli elevati standard di Hong Kong nella produzione e lavorazione delle pellicce.

L’appuntamento è quindi alla prossima HKFF dal 25 al 28 febbraio 2020.

The four-day 2019 Hong Kong International Fur & Fashion Fair was held with success last February. This annual exhibition showcased the latest fur and fashion collections, premium raw materials, novel accessories and other products from over 180 exhibitors from 10 countries and regions. Attracting buyers from over 30 countries, the leading trade platform for premium fur products saw a total order confirmed of over US$80 million this year.

As the global fur market continues to evolve, the 2019 edition saw more diversified strategies as lively, lightweight and comfortable designs with slimmer silhouettes have been introduced to attract young consumers. Experienced exhibitors also delighted buyers with more diversified offerings this year, presenting refreshing looks incorporating elements of a down jacket or fur parkas. In addition, fur sector also keeps abreast of the changes with raw material innovations. Orders from China recorded a robust growth of 97%, reflecting the emergence of a new consumer community (comprising the upper middle class, affluent class, new generation consumers and online buyers) as the country experiences rapid social and economic development. In addition, orders from Germany and Italy also experienced solid growth of 64% and 65% respectively, suggesting that the demand from traditional markets remain strong.

Orders from countries like Turkey, Spain and Dubai also increased, manifesting consumers’ and international players’ recognition of Hong Kong’s high standards in fur production and processing.

Nel 2010 intuimmo che trovare manodopera preparata sarebbe stato sempre più difficile, così decidemmo di finanziare un corso della durata di 3 anni, che oggi diploma una quindicina di studenti ogni anno, i quali trovano subito lavoro da noi o in altri calzaturifici del distretto».

Questa attitudine a guardare avanti è rivelatrice delle virtù di un’azienda che, nata nel 1975 nei sotterranei della chiesa Collegiata di Monte San Pietrangeli, oggi fattura poco meno di 200 milioni di euro, produce 15 mila paia al giorno e dà lavoro a più di 2 mila persone (sommando i 400 dipendenti delle 3 fabbriche di proprietà a quelli dei calzaturifici partner).

La notizia da cui partire è il ritorno a MICAM del brand NeroGiardini. Quali motivi l’hanno portata a questa scelta?

«Dal 2012 abbiamo deciso di spingere l’acceleratore sull’internazionalizzazione del marchio e quindi abbiamo creato una rete distributiva in Europa, Stati Uniti e Canada. Torniamo a MICAM con l’obbiettivo di rafforzare questo progetto e attingere all’ampio bacino di buyer, provenienti da tutto il mondo, che frequentano la fiera».

Oltre a MICAM, continuerete ad accogliere i clienti a Palazzo NeroGiardini in corso Venezia a Milano?

«Senza dubbio. Se vogliamo essere al centro del business internazionale dobbiamo essere al centro di una città come Milano. Fra l’altro, a breve partiranno i lavori di ristrutturazione del palazzo, perché vogliamo riportarlo al suo stato originario, così da guadagnargli riconoscibilità e distinguere NeroGiardini all’interno del Quadrilatero della Moda».

Lei non crede nella vendita online. Come mai?

«L’online rischia di sminuire il valore di un brand che viene annegato in un mare di marchi di cui è difficile valutare il valore. Io preferisco tutelare il commerciante (che non potrà mai competere con le politiche di prezzo di Internet) poiché solo lui può spiegare perché le mie scarpe sono migliori di altre. E voglio tutelare il consumatore, che merita di essere seguito e consigliato nei suoi acquisti.

Ciò non significa non credere nell’innovazione che il digitale può dispiegare. Infatti, è quasi ultimata la costruzione del nuovo centro dedicato alla logistica (il secondo, costato oltre 10 milioni di euro) che, in ottica B2B, ci permetterà di riassortire i punti vendita ancor più rapidamente».

In cosa si distingue la nuova collezione NG da NeroGiardini? «È una collezione dedicata ai millennials. Un’indagine ci ha mostrato come il nostro brand fosse conosciuto e comprato principalmente da un pubblico adulto. Perciò abbiamo pensato di sviluppare una linea che potesse piacere anche ai giovani dai 20 ai 30 anni, agli appena diplomati o laureati che si affacciano sul mondo del lavoro.

Un pubblico non semplice, più esigente e legato alle tendenze.

Dopo molti test, la scorsa stagione abbiamo lanciato la prima collezione affidandola agli stessi stilisti che disegnano NeroGiardini. È stato un errore perché lo stile non è risultato molto differente dalla linea classica. Così quest’anno ho deciso di cambiare mano e ne è uscita una bellissima serie di modelli, molto caratterizzata e dalla forte identità. Sarà una bella sorpresa».

Bambino e pelletteria: come procedono questi settori?

«Da un anno e mezzo abbiamo riorganizzato la distribuzione della linea Bambino, creando una rete dedicata, e i risultati stanno arrivando. Il successo di questa strategia mi spinge a fare lo stesso per la Pelletteria, l’accessorio ideale per la donna, su cui punto moltissimo».

Siete fieri sostenitori del Made in Italy: come riesce NeroGiardini a mantenere l’attività artigianale/industriale in Italia?

«Il Made in Italy è il terzo marchio più riconosciuto al mondo. Quindi non è solo patriottismo, ma anche una scelta di marketing vincente. Inoltre, ho sempre voluto mantenere la produzione in Italia perché sento di doverlo a tutte le persone che mi hanno fatto crescere agli inizi.

Già 20 anni fa, quando la corsa alla delocalizzazione sembrava l’unica salvezza, discutevo con gli imprenditori che volevano lasciare il Paese perché ritenevo che impoverire l’Occidente sfruttando manodopera straniera avrebbe ridotto il potere d’acquisto dei nostri clienti. Un esiguo risparmio in fase di produzione avrebbe condotto a un ben più importante calo dei consumi. E così è stato. Anche perché ho sempre pensato che il peso del costo della manodopera si sarebbe potuto limitare creando un nuovo modello d’azienda: oggi NeroGiardini è capofila di una rete di partner in grado di fornire una risposta rapida alle esigenze del mercato».

Il segreto di questa trasformazione?

«Essere riusciti a industrializzare un’attività artigianale. Essere cresciuti in dimensione rispettando le individualità produttive. Aver introdotto la “produzione per magazzino”, abbattendo quei costi fissi

che non fanno marginare le aziende ed evitando i fermo macchina.

Per farlo abbiamo profondamente innovato la strategia aziendale assumendo 11 programmatori ed entrando in società con una software-house, il che ci consente di analizzare i dati statistici e orientare la produzione sulla scia delle vendite».

Percorso complesso…

«La difficoltà più grande è per gli informatici [ride, n.d.r.]: li costringo a sintetizzare e fornirmi tutti i dati essenziali su un foglio A4».

Quali, secondo lei, gli strumenti migliori per valorizzare il Made in Italy?

«La tracciabilità. La ritengo fondamentale perché il cliente deve sapere con esattezza cosa sta acquistando. Non è semplice dotarsi degli strumenti che consentano di ottenere una filiera tracciata, ma ci arriveremo».

Da venti anni NeroGiardini punta tantissimo sulla comunicazione, che in questi anni è cambiata radicalmente. Quale strategia adottate oggi?

«Dalla prossima stagione chiuderemo con la televisione. Continueremo con la carta stampata (ancora apprezzata dal pubblico adulto) e con la radio, che tutti ascoltiamo in auto. Svilupperemo tantissimo i social su cui investiremo parecchie risorse».

The interview is over. I greet Enrico Bracalente, owner of NeroGiardini, but he stops me: «We have not talked about the ‘footwear operator course’ that we have activated in collaboration with the Artigianelli Institute of Fermo, directed by Padre Sante. Professional training is a fundamental topic for those of us who want to continue producing in Italy. In 2010 we guessed that finding prepared labour would be increasingly difficult, so we decided to finance a 3-year course, which today graduates about fifteen students each year, who immediately find work with us or in other shoe factories in the district».

This attitude of looking ahead is revealing of a company’s virtues, which, born in 1975 in the basement of the Collegiate Church of Monte San Pietrangeli, invoices today slightly below 200 million euro, producing 15,000 pairs of shoes a day and employing over 2 thousand people (adding the 400 employees of the 3 owned factories to those of the partner shoe factories).

The news to start with is the comeback of the NeroGiardini brand to MICAM. What reasons brought you to this choice?

«We have decided to push the accelerator on the internationalisation of the brand since 2012 and have therefore created a distribution network in Europe, the United States and Canada. We come back to MICAM with the aim of reinforcing this project and drawing on the broad range of buyers from all over the world who attend the show».

Beyond MICAM, will you continue to welcome customers at Palazzo NeroGiardini in Corso Venezia in Milan?

«We will, no doubt. If we want to be at the centre of international business we must be at the centre of a city like Milan. Among other things, the renovation of the building will start shortly, because we

want to restore it to its original state, so as to gain recognition and distinguish NeroGiardini inside the Fashion Quadrilateral».

You do not believe in online sales. How come?

«Online sales risk to diminish the value of a brand, which is drowned in a sea of brands whose value is difficult to assess. I prefer to protect a retailer (who can never compete with Internet pricing policies) because he alone can explain why my shoes are better than others. And I want to protect the consumer who deserves to be followed and advised in his purchases.

This does not mean not believing in the innovation that the digital world can deploy. In fact, the construction of the new logistics centre (the second, with a cost beyond 10 million euro) is almost completed, which, from a B2B point of view, will allow us to restock the stores even more quickly».

What distinguishes the new NG collection from NeroGiardini?

«It is a collection dedicated to millennials. A survey showed us how our brand was known and bought mainly by an adult audience.

So we decided to develop a line that could also appeal to young people aged 20 to 30, to newly graduated or graduates entering the world of work. A public that is not simple, more demanding and tied to trends. After many tests, last season we launched the first collection entrusting it to the same designers who design NeroGiardini. It was a mistake because the style was not very different from the classic line. So this year I decided to change hands and a beautiful series of very distinctive models with a strong identity came out. It will be a nice surprise».

Kids and leather goods: how are these sectors progressing?

«For a year and a half we have been reorganising the distribution of the kids line, creating a dedicated network, and the results start to become apparent. The success of this strategy pushes me to do the same for leather goods, the ideal accessory for women, on which I want to focus».

You are proud promoters of Made in Italy: how does NeroGiardini manage to maintain the craft/industrial activity in Italy?

«Made in Italy is the third most recognised brand in the world. So it’s not just patriotism, but also a winning marketing choice. Furthermore, I always wanted to keep production in Italy because I feel I owe it to all the people who made me grow at the beginning.

Already 20 years ago, when the relocation race seemed the only salvation, I discussed with the entrepreneurs who wanted to leave the country because I thought that impoverishing the West by exploiting foreign labour would reduce the purchasing power of our customers. A small saving in the production phase would have led to a much more important drop in consumption. And so it was. Also because I always thought that the weight of labour costs could have been limited by creating a new business model: today NeroGiardini is the leader of a network of partners able to provide a rapid response to market needs».

What is the secret of this transformation?

«Have succeded in industrialising a craft activity. Being grown in size while respecting productive individuality. Having introduced the “production by warehouse”, reducing those fixed costs that do not

give companies profit margins and avoiding downtime. To do this we have profoundly innovated the corporate strategy by hiring 11 programmers and entering into a company with a software house, which allows us to analyse statistical data and direct production in the wake of sales».

It’s a complex path…

«The biggest difficulty is for computer scientists [he laughs, editor’s note.]: I force them to summarise and provide me with all the essential data on an A4 sheet».

What do you think are the best tools to enhance Made in Italy?

«Traceability. I consider it essential because the customer must know exactly what he is buying. It is not easy to equip oneself with the right tools to obtain a traced supply chain, but we will get there».

For twenty years NeroGiardini has been focusing a lot on communication, which in recent years has changed radically.

Which strategy do you adopt today?

«From next season we will end up with television. We will continue with the printing press (which is still appreciated by the adult audience) and with the radio, which we all listen to in the car. We will increasingly develop social media on which we will invest many resources».

Franco Gabbrielli New President of Assopellettieri

levare il posizionamento di Mipel, rafforzando le sinergie con Micam: così Franco Gabbrielli racconta i primi buoni propositi da nuovo Presidente di Assopellettieri. Raccoglie il testimone da Riccardo Braccialini, la cui presidenza è stata “di rottura, con molti cambiamenti nell’associazione ma anche nel Mipel”. Gabbrielli si propone di continuare con questo slancio e cercare di rafforzare ancora di più il salone della pelletteria anche mettendo a fuoco una selezione qualitativa sempre maggiore: migliore è il prodotto presente alla manifestazione, migliore è il risultato per tutti. “Io provengo da una storia imprenditoriale ricca di sinergie, quindi punto su quello che so per certo funzioni. Auspico quindi che sempre più aziende pellettiere si possano unire per diventare più forti, è l’unica strada”.

Gabbrielli, classe 1968, imprenditore e designer toscano, inizia la carriera nell’azienda paterna “Vittorio Gabbrielli”, nel 1990 insieme alla sorella fonda la Gabbrielli International, lanciando il brand che porta il suo cognome. Nel 2000 crea la linea di borse e accessori Gabs, di cui ad oggi, anche a seguito dell’acquisizione da parte di Campomaggi e Caterina Lucchi SpA, continua ad essere art director e designer.

Mipel 2019: qualche anticipazione? “Punteremo sempre di più sulle sinergie, con Micam in particolar modo. E’ tassativo lavorare insieme, siamo un’unica entità e dobbiamo lavorare in quest’ottica. Fare passi insieme per essere più forti”. L’evoluzione in atto dell’area Scenario è per lui un aspetto fondamentale, dando l’occasione di una vetrina a aziende emergenti e giovani designer, che possono poi a livello associativo “ricambiare” portando le idee più fresche e innovative. Negli ultimi anni, Assopellettieri si sta evolvendo rapidamente e Gabbrielli vorrebbe rinnovarne e ampliarne i servizi, così da avvicinare l’associazione alle aziende che lavorano conto terzi, i cosiddetti terzisti/façonisti, oggi più numerose di quanto non fossero ieri.

E alla nostra domanda su cosa può portare con la sua ricca esperienza di imprenditore al ruolo di Presidente, Franco Gabbrielli ci ha

risposto: “Sicuramente l’entusiasmo! Vorrei diventare ‘il direttore commerciale delle aziende associate’!” A parte gli scherzi, la presidenza è per lui un vero e proprio lavoro, intendendo impegnarsi in prima linea e battersi energicamente per promozione e la tutela del made in Italy, la lotta alla contraffazione e per fare sistema, a partire dal coinvolgimento delle grandi griffe in questi percorsi. Difatti, oltre a Riccardo Braccialini, nel ruolo di Past President, sono parte del suo Consiglio di Presidenza anche Stefania Orselli (Industrial Relations & Labour Law Director di GUCCI S.p.a.) e Andrea Calistri (titolare di Sapaf S.r.l.), entrambi nel ruolo di Vice Presidente, e Franco Baccani, noto imprenditore fiorentino, nel ruolo di membro del Consiglio Generale delegato alla formazione e alla lotta alla contraffazione.

Elevating the rank of Mipel, strengthening synergies with Micam: this is how Franco Gabbrielli talks about his first good intentions as new President of Assopellettieri. He takes over from Riccardo Braccialini, whose presidency was “corrective, with many changes in the association but also at Mipel”. Gabbrielli proposes to continue with this momentum trying to strengthen even more the leather goods fair also by focusing on an ever increasing qualitative selection: the better the product present at the event, the better the result for everyone. “I come from an entrepreneurial history full of synergies, so I focus on what I know works for sure. I therefore hope that increasingly more leather goods companies can join together to become stronger. This is the only way forward”.

Gabbrielli, born in 1968, a Tuscan entrepreneur and designer, started his career in the paternal company “Vittorio Gabbrielli”, in 1990 he founded Gabbrielli International together with his sister, launching the brand that bears his surname. In 2000 he created the line of bags and accessories Gabs, of which to date, also following the acquisition by Campomaggi and Caterina Lucchi SpA, he continues to be art director and designer.

What about Mipel - September 2019? “We will focus increasingly more on synergies, especially with Micam. It is imperative to work together, we are a single entity and we must work in this perspective.

Take steps together to be stronger”.

The ongoing evolution of the Scenario area is a fundamental aspect for him, in order to provide a showcase to emerging companies and young designers, who can “reciprocate” at an associative level by bringing the freshest and most innovative ideas. In recent years, Assopellettieri has been evolving rapidly and Gabbrielli would like to renew and expand its services, so as to bring the association closer to companies that work for third parties, the so-called contractors/ façonists, which now are more numerous compared to yesterday.

And to our question about what he can bring with his rich experience as an entrepreneur to the role of President, Franco Gabbrielli replied: “Definitely enthusiasm! I would like to become ‘the commercial director of the associated companies’!” All joking aside, the presidency is a real job for him, and he intends to engage in the front line to vigorously support the promotion and protection of Made in Italy products, fight counterfeiting and make system, starting from the involvement of the big luxury brands in these paths. In fact, in addition to Riccardo Braccialini, in the role of Past President, Stefania Orselli (Industrial Relations & Labour Law Director of GUCCI S.p.a.), Andrea Calistri (owner of Sapaf S.r.l.), both in the role of Vice President and Franco Baccani, a well-known Florentine entrepreneur, as a member of the General Council delegated to training and fighting counterfeiting, are all part of the Council Presidency.

Visitor numbers up at the 44th KASTORIA International Fur Fair

’atmosfera vivace e gli ottimi affari tra produttori e clienti ribadiscono che la KIFF è una sede fondamentale d’incontro per gli scambi commerciali, e può essere considerata a pieno titolo una tra le principali manifestazioni fieristiche a livello mondiale.

In linea con la tendenza in crescita, il numero di visitatori della Fur Fair di quest’anno è aumentato dell’11% rispetto all’anno scorso, sulla base dei dati raccolti presso il Centro Espositivo Internazionale di Kastoria, che ha aperto i battenti dal 2 al 5 maggio 2019 per accogliere 1504 visitatori provenienti da 42 Paesi. Più nel dettaglio, buyer provenivano dai seguenti Paesi: Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bielorussia, Bosnia-Erzegovina, Canada, Cina, Cipro, Repubblica Ceca, Danimarca, Estonia, Finlandia, Francia, Georgia, Germania, Grecia, Ungheria, Islanda, Italia, Kazakistan, Corea del Sud, Lettonia, Libano, Libia, Moldavia, Nepal, Olanda, Polonia, Portogallo, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovacchia, Spagna, Svezia, Svizzera, Turchia, Ucraina, Regno Unito e Stati Uniti. Gli acquirenti russi hanno registrato il maggiore incremento in percentuale, il 13,14% in più rispetto all’anno scorso, costituendo la maggior parte della clientela di quest’anno.

Si è anche registrato un incremento nel numero di fashion buyer da Ucraina, Turchia, Italia, Romania e Corea del Sud, una sicura fonte di soddisfazione per i 121 espositori/aziende di pellicceria che hanno preso parte alla 44a KIFF. In esposizione in questa edizione, cappotti e giacche in pelliccia, borse e accessori, articoli in pelle e cuoio di altissima qualità in un’ampia gamma di colori e modelli, seguendo le tendenze di moda autunno/inverno 2019/20. Il Fashion Gala Show di quest’anno è stato ancora una volta uno dei momenti culminanti. Le magnifiche realizzazioni in pelliccia di 11 tra le aziende più significative nel campo della pellicceria sono state fatte sfilare in passerella. Il Gala di quest’anno si è tenuto nel gremito stadio coperto di Kastoria, in cui è stata allestita un’ambientazione da sogno a far da sfondo ai bellissimi capi in pelliccia per uomo e donna prodotti dai pellicciai greci. Un altro evento di rilievo per il settore delle pellicce è stato il convegno organizzato nell’ambito della 44a KIFF in collaborazione con la International Fur Federation (IFF), relativo alla certificazione globale FurMark e al programma di tracciabilità per il settore delle pellicce, sempre più interessato a pratiche sostenibili. La 44a KIFF è stata organizzata dalla Kastorian Fur Association, da TIF-HELEXPO e dall’Unità Regionale della Macedonia Occidentale. Lo sponsor principale è stata la Casa d’Aste NAFA, e il Gold Sponsor la SAGA FURS. La Fiera è stata sostenuta anche dai Comuni di Kastoria e Argos Orestiko. La 45a KASTORIA International Fur Exhibition si svolgerà dal 7 al 10 maggio 2020 (giovedì-domenica) presso il Centro Espositivo Internazionale di Kastoria (IECK).

A buzzy atmosphere and great business deals between producers and clients reiterate that the KIFF is a focal meeting venue for commercial trade and is worthily among the top exhibition events worldwide.

In keeping with the upward trend, the number of visitors was up by 11% in comparison to last year at this year’s Fur Fair, based on data collected at the International Exhibition Center of Kastoria, which opened its doors from May 2nd to 5th 2019 to welcome 1.504 visitors from 42 countries. More specifically, buyers came from the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Canada, China, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Latvia, Lebanon, Libya, Moldavia, Nepal, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Rumania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Russian buyers showed the biggest jump in percentage, up 13.14% as against last year, making up the bulk of this year’s clientele. There was also an increase in the number of fashion buyers from Ukraine, Turkey, Italy, Romania and South Korea, a sure source of satisfaction for the 121 exhibitors/furriers participating in the 44th KIFF. On show at this edition, fur coats and jackets, bags and accessories, pelts and leather goods of top-notch quality in a wide range of colours and designs, following the fashion trends for A/W 2019-20. This year’s Fashion Gala Show was one of the highlights of the event yet again. The superb fur creations of 11 of the most significant fur-making businesses were presented on the catwalk. This year’s Gala was held in the jam-packed indoor Stadium in Kastoria, where a dreamy set was built as the backdrop to the beautiful men and women’s fur garments manufactured by Greece’s furriers. Another interesting event for the fur sector was the conference organized as part of the 44th KIFF in collaboration with the International Fur Federation (IFF) concerning the FurMark global certification and traceability program for the fur sector, more and more interested in sustainable practices. The 44th KIFF was organized by the Kastorian Fur Association, TIF-HELEXPO and the West Macedonia Regional Unit. The Grand Sponsor was the NAFA Auction House and the Gold Sponsor was SAGA FURS. The Fair was also backed by the municipalities of Kastoria and Argos Orestiko. Gerd Leonhard Not too much technology, only the necessary

G

erd Leonhard è un futurologo, anche se in realtà, più che predire il futuro, è un attento osservatore dei cambiamenti in atto nel presente e dei germogli che poi sbocciano negli anni a venire. Ceo di The Futures Agency, è anche autore di diversi libri, dei quali l’ultimo “Technology versus Humanity” indaga il delicato equilibrio tra l’individuo e una tecnologia sempre più presente e invadente. Di questo suo lavoro ha parlato in occasione del tradizionale appuntamento con il Luxury Summit, organizzato lo scorso giugno a Milano da 24Ore Business School/Sole 24Ore. Gerd Leonhard è partito da un assunto importante: il futuro non è più un’estensione del presente. Le cose cambiano oggi non più passo dopo passo, ma in modo improvviso ed estremamente veloce. Si sta procedendo verso una simbiosi tra uomo e macchina, e in questo processo le interfacce basate sui comandi vocali cambieranno sempre di più e in modo inevitabile le abitudini di acquisto di ogni consumatore.

La tecnologia ci conosce sempre più a fondo e interpreta e anticipa le nostre esigenze. Ma attenzione, mette in guardia lo studioso, perché le macchine si muovono per algoritmi, per logica, ma non considerano i sentimenti e le emozioni. E molto spesso le cose più belle e straordinarie hanno proprio a che fare con questo. Questa componente emozionale è presente anche nell’acquisto di moda, soprattutto di lusso. Per questo motivo il futuro del lusso passa necessariamente attraverso concetti come passione, immaginazione, persuasione e capacità di raccontare una storia. Ma c’è di più: è importante essere molto attenti a non superare una certa soglia di tecnologia. La tecnologia è fondamentale nel nostro futuro, ma solo la quantità necessaria, perché il ‘troppo stroppia’. Mantenere questo equilibrio è essenziale in un mondo dove si rischia di essere sempre connessi, e sempre spiati e analizzati. Sono sempre più di attualità temi come il tracciamento delle nostre vite digitali, la sorveglianza automatica, la perdita dell’anonimato, la sicurezza dei dati. Il caso di Facebook è esemplare. In un mondo dove i miei bisogni sono così chiari e così conosciuti da essermi anticipati e dove la tecnologia permette di conoscermi a fondo, diventa allora fondamentale considerare che l’essere umano è fatto anche e soprattutto di relazioni e sentimenti. In questo quadro il nuovo lusso diventa essere non connessi, e proteggere la propria privacy: in una parola, rimanere umani.

Il lusso è anche comprare non solo un prodotto, quanto piuttosto vivere un’esperienza: non tanto un paio di scarpe, quanto la storia dell’azienda che le ha concepite e dell’artigiano che le ha create.

CEO of The Futures Agency, he is also the author of various books, including his most recent work, “Technology versus Humanity”, which takes a look at the delicate equilibrium between the individual and the increasingly active and invasive presence of technology. He spoke of his work during the traditional appointment with the Luxury Summit, organized this past June in Milan by the 24Ore Business School/Sole 24Ore. Gerd Leonhard began his speech with one important presupposition: the future is no longer an extension of the present. Today, things no longer change step-by-step, but immediately and without warning. We are proceeding towards a synergy between man and machine, and in this process, the interfaces based on vocal commands will increasingly change once and for all the purchasing habits of every consumer. Technology has an increasingly extensive understanding of us and is ready to interpret and pre-empt our needs. However, technology should be approached with caution, because technology and machines are powered by algorithms and logic, without any consideration for feelings and emotions. And quite often the most beautiful and extraordinary things are tied into sentiments. This emotional component is also present in fashion and especially luxury fashion purchases. For this reason, the future of luxury must pass through concepts like passion, imagination, persuasion, and the ability to tell a story. That’s not all: it’s important to be very careful to not exceed a certain limit with technology. Technology is fundamental to our future, but only in the amounts strictly needed, because ‘too much of a good thing’ can in fact be overkill. Maintaining this equilibrium is essential in a world where there is the risk of always being connected, and accordingly always being spied upon and analyzed. Increasingly relevant are themes like the traceability of our digital lives, automatic surveillance, the loss of anonymity, and privacy. The case of Facebook is a perfect example. In a world where our needs are so clearly understood that they can even be predicted ahead of time and where technology allows for an in-depth study of each one of us, it becomes fundamental to consider that human beings are above all made up by relationships and emotions. In this context, new luxury becomes to be unconnected, while protecting the privacy of each one of us: in a word, it allows us to maintain our humanity. Luxury is also not only a matter of buying a product, but rather it’s an experience: it’s not just a pair of shoes, but also the history of the company that conceived them and the craftsman who created them.

il settecentesco palazzo Borromeo d’Adda, la prestigiosa location in via Manzoni 41, che ospita il nuovo mega-headquarter di Massimo Bonini. Lo spazio si spalma su un’area di 1600 metri quadrati con ambienti arricchiti da soffitti affrescati e splendidi lampadari: una sede di grande valore per gli oltre 30 marchi di prestigio, curati dalla nota azienda che oggi compie trent’anni di attività. All’interno, tutto freme di dinamismo: siamo nel pieno della stagione delle vendite. Sabrina Bonini, moglie e co-founder di Massimo Bonini ci accoglie sorridente, mostrando l’evidente soddisfazione per questa importante tappa del percorso aziendale. “Ci siamo innamorati immediatamente di questo spazio: non appena l’abbiamo visto, abbiamo capito che era la location giusta. È arrivato al momento ideale, in occasione del nostro trentesimo anniversario, quando sentivamo il desiderio di riunire in un unico luogo tutti i nostri brand, prima suddivisi nelle sedi di via Montenapoleone 2, 3 e via Ceresio 7”.

Come siete arrivati a questo punto?

“Abbiamo fondato la nostra azienda negli anni `80 con il desiderio di dedicare un intero showroom alla calzatura di lusso e da allora abbiamo sempre creduto nel potere degli accessori. Mentre la moda si internazionalizzava abbiamo iniziato a dialogare con i più qualificati clienti globali intraprendendo un percorso di crescita con i nostri brand che dura ancora oggi”.

Come lavorate con i vostri brand?

“Sviluppiamo per ogni marchio strategie e progetti ad hoc: sposiamo la diversità che riteniamo una risorsa. Supportiamo il brand nel posizionamento, nella comunicazione e operiamo come una piattaforma che mette in contatto designer, aziende e clienti. A questi ultimi offriamo il giusto balance di brand importanti e giovani designer frutto di un attento scouting”.

Qual è la vostra clientela oggi?

“Lavoriamo con tutti i player più importanti worldwide che operano in questo segmento: i grandi department stores, i concept stores, le boutique di nicchia e di ricerca di 85 paesi. La rivoluzione dell’ e-commerce sta diventando sempre più influente e molti tra i nostri clienti hanno iniziato a lavorare anche online, ottenendo un grande riscontro”.

Dove sta andando Massimo Bonini? “È arrrivato alla seconda generazione. Nostra figlia Giorgia dirige lo showrom che abbiamo aperto quattro anni fa a New York e che ci sta dando grandi soddisfazioni in un mercato particolarmente difficile, mentre nostro figlio Filippo è qui a Milano. Averli accanto ci dà una grande forza e ci sprona a fare investimenti importanti come per questa stupenda sede”.

It is the 18th century Borromeo d’Adda palace, the prestigious location in via Manzoni 41, to host the new mega-headquarters of Massimo Bonini. The space extends across an area of 1600 square metres with the setting enriched by frescoed ceilings and splendid chandeliers: an extremely valuable location for over 30 prestigious brands, curated by the famed company that celebrates thirty years of activity this year. Inside, there is a great air of excitement: the sales season is fully underway. Sabrina Bonini, wife and co-founder of Massimo Bonini, greets us with a smile, showing clear satisfaction in what is an important step in the company’s professional pathway. “We immediately fell in love with this space: as soon as we saw it, we understood that it was the right location.

It also arrived at the perfect moment, that of our thirtieth anniversary, where we felt the desire to combine in one sole location all of our brands, which were previously divided up between the locations in via Montenapoleone 2, 3 and via Ceresio 7”.

How do you work with your brands?

“We develop strategies and ad hoc projects for every brand: we combine the diversities that we consider to be a resource. We support the brands in their positioning and communications, and we act as a platform that puts them into contact with designers, businesses and customers. To the latter, we offer the right balance of important brands and young designers that are fruit of attentive scouting”.

How did you arrive at this point?

“We founded our company in the 80’s with the desire to dedicate an entire showroom to luxury footwear, and ever since then, we have always believed in the power of accessories. When fashion started becoming more international, we began to interact with the most qualified global clients undertaking a pathway of growth with our brands that continues today”.

Where is Massimo Bonini headed?

“It’s now in its second generation. Our daughter Giorgia manages the showroom we opened four years ago in New York and it is a great source of satisfaction in a market that is especially difficult, while our son Filippo is here in Milan. Having them by our side gives us great strength and encourages us to make important investments like the one we just made in this fantastic location”.

Who are your customers today?

“We work with all of the most important players worldwide doing business in this segment: leading department stores, concept stores, and niche and experimental boutiques in 85 countries worldwide. The revolution of e-commerce is becoming an increasingly important influence and many of our customers have also begun to work online, meeting up with great results”.

randi numeri per Pitti Uomo 96: la kermesse, infatti, ha ospitato 1220 marchi (tra cui 549 stranieri) tra debutti (uno per tutti, per la prima volta in fiera di A | X Armani Exchange) e graditi ritorni. Tante le novità di questa novantaseiesima edizione a partire dal tema “The Pitti Special Click” e la partnership mediatica con Instagram. In omaggio a Karl Lagerfeld, una mega installazione realizzata dall’artista contemporaneo Endless ha accompagnato le collezioni dell’eponimo marchio.

In totale superati i 30.000 visitatori e oltre 18.500 sono i buyer da 100 Paesi esteri, per un’edizione all’insegna di energia e ottimismo, in un anno non facile per il commercio internazionale. “Abbiamo registrato una grande effervescenza in Fortezza da Basso e in città – ha dichiarato Raffaello Napoleone, A.D. di Pitti Immagine – e questo è il primo evidente segnale dello spirito di un’intera industria che si rappresenta a Pitti Uomo e che crede nel futuro, muovendosi in sintonia con i grandi cambiamenti della comunicazione, del consumo e

della distribuzione, investendo in ricerca, materiali e nuove tecnologie. Alcuni importanti mercati sono aumentati, come Francia, Turchia, Hong Kong, Belgio e Russia; altri hanno perso qualche punto percentuale, come Germania, Spagna, Giappone, Stati Uniti e - purtroppo - Italia. Ma è vero anche che la distribuzione sta cambiando tanto sotto i nostri occhi: oggi un compratore di una grande piattaforma online pesa quanto decine di boutique specializzate anni fa”.

Cuore pulsante di Pitti Uomo, il Padiglione Centrale ha raccontato la netta evoluzione del menswear di impronta classica e le sue contaminazioni design e streetwear, con brand che rileggono la lezione del tailoring e interpretano il nuovo lusso del guardaroba maschile con collezioni in dialogo con gli altri mondi di Pitti Uomo. Le allacciate e mocassini si evolvono dall’aspetto più formale per incorporare suole di nuova tecnologia e linee più sfilate. Le derby in vitello, camoscio o canvas sono alleggerite da fondi in gomma extralight. Le nuove chunky sneaker si impongono con importanti suole ultraleggere, volumi asimmetrici e tomaie giocate tra vitelli spazzolati e tessuti tecnici. La presenza dei lacci trekking conferiscono uno spirito d’ispirazione outdoor. Per quanto riguarda le borse, gli zaini e le linee business & travel, i nuovi modelli tendono decisamente verso l’unisex e sono ideati per durare nel tempo, fedeli compagni di viaggio o di lavoro, utilizzano pregiati pellami uniti al canvas o al nylon e sfruttano al meglio le nuove tecnologie come la protezione anti-frode RFID, tracker antiscippo, powerbank per ricaricare i device elettronici e così via.

Huge numbers for Pitti Uomo 96: in fact, the fair hosted 1220 brands (of which 549 foreign ones) and included debuts (A | X Armani Exchange exhibit for the first time) and lots of welcomed returns. This 96th edition will have many new features such as “The Pitti Special Click” theme and the media partnership with Instagram. The contemporary artist Endless created a mega installation to honour Karl Lagerfeld, which will accompany the collections of the great designer’s brand.

In total, 30,000 visitors and over 18,500 buyers from 100 foreign countries visited the fair, with an edition of energy and optimism, in a year not easy for international trade. “We have experienced a great effervescence in the Fortezza da Basso and in the city - declared Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine - and this is the first clear sign of the spirit of an entire industry that is represented at Pitti Uomo and believes in the future, moving in harmony with the great changes in communication, consumption and distribution, investing in research, materials and new technologies. There has been a significant increase in markets like France, Turkey, Hong Kong, Belgium and Russia; others have lost a few percentage points, such as Germany, Spain, Japan, the United States and - unfortunately - Italy. But it is also true that distribution is changing a lot before our eyes: today a buyer for a large online platform counts as much as dozens of specialized boutiques years ago”.

The Central Pavilion, beating heart of Pitti Uomo, illustrated the clear evolution of classic menswear and its design and streetwear contaminations, with brands that re-read tailoring lessons and interpret the new luxury of men’s wardrobe with collections that interact with other worlds of Pitti Uomo. Lace-up shoes and moccasins evolve from a more formal aspect to incorporate new technology soles and more tapered lines.

Derby shoes in calfskin, suede or canvas are streamlined by extralight rubber bottoms. The new chunky sneakers impose themselves with important ultra-light soles, asymmetrical volumes and uppers that play between brushed calfskin and technical fabric. The presence of trekking laces lend an outdoor-inspired spirit. As for bags, backpacks and business & travel lines, the new models tend towards unisex and are designed to last, like faithful travel or work companions, fine leathers mixed with canvas or nylon are used making the most of new technologies such as RFID anti-fraud protection, anti-theft trackers, power banks to recharge electronic devices and so on.

Nice Footwear towards the future ’azienda veneta fondata nel 2014 con sede a Vicenza è licenziataria di diversi marchi tra cui Ellesse, Conte of Florence e Avirex, nonché proprietaria di Kronos, marchio footwear dedicato al mondo sportivo con focus sul running e sul calcio. Vanta inoltre collaborazioni con molti altri brand internazionali di calzature per il tempo libero. Alla guida Bruno Conterno, socio fondatore e attuale presidente di un azienda dinamica e propositiva, composta da un gruppo di professionisti provenienti da aziende storiche della calzatura leisure e sportiva a livello mondiale.

I prodotti uomo, donna e bambino sviluppati in licenza, che spaziano dalla scarpa sportiva e casual fino alle tecniche e per il tempo libero, vengono distribuiti sia sul mercato italiano che su quello estero tramite diversi canali, in particolare nei negozi sportivi specializzati e nel micro dettaglio, ma anche nei punti vendita di abbigliamento, grazie a una rete di agenti diretti di vendita o distributori.

Dal punto di vista economico, l’azienda ha chiuso il 2018 superando i 17 milioni di euro con EBITDA di oltre 1,5 mln e per il biennio 2019/2020 si prospettano budget di crescita a doppia cifra.

In questo contesto di espansione, Nice Footwear ha inaugurato lo scorso giugno un nuovo spazio espositivo nel quadrilatero della moda in Via Montenapoleone 18 a Milano. Questo elegante showroom è una sede strategica per l’azienda, con una superficie

di oltre 200 metri quadrati, e presenta un arredamento dal design moderno e accattivante che ben si inserisce nel contesto della moda milanese. Nice Footwear ha inoltre consolidato la sua forza distributiva con la recente apertura di uno showroom a Hong Kong.

Il 2019 è anche un anno dedicato alle ultime tecnologie e tecniche di design: Nice Footwear ha difatti deciso di innovare il suo processo di R&D sviluppando una tecnologia 3D ad hoc per le proprie esigenze di creatività, ottimizzando e snellendo il processo produttivo. Creata in collaborazione con uno studio italiano specializzato in realtà virtuale e aumentata, permette di progettare nuove calzature con una qualità fotorealistica. Il programma consente di dare libero sfogo al potenziale creativo dei suoi designer, entusiasti del nuovo approccio tecnologico e proiettati ogni giorno sempre di più ad essere un’azienda 4.0. Il software permette l’utilizzo di visori VR che permettono una maggiore percezione delle dimensioni e dei dettagli, visualizzando la scarpa anche in dimensioni maggiorate e quindi più facile da esaminare. Ogni articolo viene acquisito tramite la tecnica della fotogrammetria, per poi essere rimodellato in modo funzionale al software. Salvando tutti i progetti online, le sedi di Vicenza, di Hong Kong e di Milano Montenapoleone sono collegate costantemente tra loro, permettendo di lavorare contemporaneamente allo stesso progetto e creando una piattaforma unica nel suo genere che annulla le distanze del mondo reale.

The Veneto-based company founded in 2014 with headquarters in Vicenza is the licensee of several brands including Ellesse, Conte of Florence and Avirex, as well as owner of Kronos, a footwear brand dedicated to the sports world with a focus on running and soccer.

It also collaborates with many other international brands of leisure footwear. At the head of the company Bruno Conterno, founding partner and current chairman of the dynamic and proactive firm, guides a team of professionals coming from historic companies in the world of leisure and sports footwear.

The licensed products for men, women and children, ranging from sports and casual to technique and leisure shoes, are distributed both on the Italian and foreign markets through different channels, particularly in specialized sports shops and through a micro-retail strategy, but also in clothing stores, thanks to a network of direct sales agents or distributors. From an economic point of view, the company closed 2018 exceeding 17 million euro with EBITDA of over 1.5 million and there are double-digit growth budgets lying ahead for the two-year period 2019/2020.

In this expanding context, last June Nice Footwear inaugurated a new exhibition space in the fashion district of Via Montenapoleone 18 in Milan. This elegant showroom is a strategic location for the company and with an area of over 200 square metres it features a modern and attractive design that fits well in the context of

the Milanese fashion world. Nice Footwear has also consolidated its distribution strength with the recent opening of a showroom in Hong Kong.

2019 is also a year dedicated to the latest technologies and design techniques: Nice Footwear decided to innovate its R&D process by developing ad hoc 3D technology for its own creativity requirements, optimizing and streamlining the production process. Created in collaboration with an Italian studio specialized in virtual and augmented reality, it allows to design new footwear with photorealistic quality. The program allows you to give free rein to the creative potential of its designers, who are enthusiastic about the new technological approach and every day increasingly projected towards becoming a 4.0 company. The software enables the use of VR viewers allowing a greater perception of dimensions and details, displaying the shoe also in larger sizes, which are therefore easier to examine. Each item is acquired through the photogrammetry technique, to then be remodeled in a functional way suitable for the software. By saving all the projects online, the premises of Vicenza, Hong Kong and Milan Montenapoleone are constantly connected to each other, allowing to work simultaneously on the same project and creating a unique platform that removes the distances of the real world.
