Tenerife is known to have some of the best golf courses in all the Canary Islands, nine of them servicing players all year-round. The official WCGC World Final competition will be held at Golf Costa Adeje and the Sports Legends Cup will be played at Abama Golf, two superb courses that illustrate the excellent quality of golf in Tenerife and will undoubtedly contribute to the success of the event.

As implied by the name, this golf club is situated in Adeje, a wonderful city with some excellent dining options. The very first 18 holes, now referred to as The Old Course, were first opened for play in 1998. Since then, an additional 9 holes have been added known as Los Lagos. Both courses feature generous fairways, but the focus is largely on precise approach play and the short game. The courses are in excellent shape for the majority of the year, which makes putting enjoyable. The difficulty is largely provided by elevation changes and sweeping undulations, as well as a few gorges and lakes. Only on this course will you be accompanied by banana plantations overlooking the beautiful sea views and La Gomera Island in the distance. The Costa Adeje course has excellent conditions, and the greens are challenging. Remember that the island is frequently windy, so you may want to bring 1-2 extra clubs or fewer, depending on the wind’s direction. One of the best courses to have been created in Europe and is regarded by many as the best in the Canary Islands. It offers vistas over the island of La Gomera and out into the immense blue of the Atlantic Ocean. Golfers of all skill levels will enjoy the challenge provided by the course’s 25,000 palm trees, no less than 22 lakes, dramatic elevation changes, and strategically placed bunkers that protect expansive putting areas. Following your round, treat yourself to a meal prepared by a Michelin-starred chef at the clubhouse while taking in the sunset. Number of holes: 18

One of Tenerife’s most gorgeous golf courses, with holes built on cliff tops with views of the Atlantic Ocean and the majestic Teno mountain range. It is located in the northwestern region of the island. The total difficulty is increased by the

spacious fairways, stunning scenery, and numerous holes that tilt close to the cliff’s edge. Compared to other courses on the island, Buenavista may be a little off the usual route, but the trip to the north-west is tremendously enjoyable and well worth the effort. Number of holes: 18

Tenerife’s golf industry has progressively increased in status and repute.
