Pin High As many of us realize, our paths in life occasionally take us on a way that leaves us with dog poop on the soles of our shoes. In the words of Robert Frost, “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.”

We have a goal, and sometimes the way is scattered with obstacles; we still need to maintain focus. Pin High achieves this. Knowing that you are aligned with your goal, you can adjust your steps to realize success.

Pin High may be negatively viewed as a consolation prize, in reality, it is an organic process (as is stepping in shit). The anxieties of life cannot be avoided with a pin sheet (if so, our children would be issued one at birth!). We need to continuously be aware of where we are placed concerning the pin; consistently, we will gain turf.

Recognize that golf is one of the few instances in life when falling into a hole is a positive thing! Depth perception in humans occurs in the 5th month of infancy; yet older infants do not fear falling “they seem to be enthralled by the drop-off, not fearful of it…[they] come to rely more on visual information about how their movement is controlled relative to the environment.” As golfers, we recognize that the game is actually, one person and one focus all to reach a point in the distance. It is how we respond to the factors in our environment that determines our level of success.

In essence, Pin High is to be celebrated as a triumph; the goal is still within our sights and we are heading in the right direction (sure beats getting lost!).

from the late summer into the fall, golfers should seize the opportunity to play in the mountains of north Georgia. And, go play before Old Man Winter arrives. To give you an idea of the exciting holes and courses that await your arrival, here’s a list of nine of the best golf holes from six of the northern-most courses along the Georgia Golf Trail.

“Mountain golf in Georgia in the fall is spectacular,” said Doug Hollandsworth, Founder, Georgia Golf Trail. “The temperature is ideal and the views of the trees with their cornucopia of colors is refreshing.”

After reading this story, don’t be surprised if you unable to resist the temptation of packing an overnight bag, grabbing your clubs,

sort and Golf Club (98 Schwarzwald Strasse, Helen, Georgia; 706-8782100), your most memorable tee shot will be on the downhill par-three 15th hole. The descent from tee to green is massive – at least 150 feet.

You won’t need nearly as much club as the yardage would normally indicate. A well-struck shot will seemingly hang and drift forever.

The Sky Valley Country Club (568 Sky Valley Way, Sky Valley, Georgia; 706-746-5302) has a thrilling downhill, par-3 experience. It’s the 15th, which is Sky Valley’s signature hole. Here, there’s a 60-foot elevation drop from tee to green. Pick the right club and commit to a solid swing. Don’t just hit and hope!

At Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa (6321 Highway 76, Young Harris, Geor-

gia; 706-379-4613), the 1st hole is an attention-getter and demands maximum concentration. The tee shot at the first is struck from a raised tee to a fairway which sits well below the tee box. It’s a tee shot which you will want to hit well since the hang time will be significant. Tee it high and let it fly!

Brasstown Valley’s 8th hole is a left-to-right short par four where a small lake borders the right side of the hole from tee to green. A fairway bunker and a greenside bunker must be avoided on your tee shot and your approach to the green.

The signature hole at Highland Walk (1415 Bryant Park Road, Royston, Georgia; 706-245-6770) is the 17th, which is special, scenic, and a selfie ‘hot spot.’ The tee boxes at the 17th are raised and terraced. Your tee shot is struck over a ravine to a narrow fairway. Once you find your tee shot, go pin-seeking to a flag perched on a

raised, sloping green. At the 17th, pars are precious and birdies are celebrated.

At Highland Walk, the view of the 7th green from the tee is fascinating.

The tee shot is one of the most exciting tee shots in Georgia. Because of a massive drop in elevation from the tee to the fairway, the hole is not as long as it appears on the card. That downhill tee shot is followed by an uphill approach to the green.

Two of the best holes at the Chestatee Golf Club (777 Dogwood Way, Dawsonville, Georgia; 706-216-7386) are the 1st and 17th. The tee shot on the 1st – a left-to-right dogleg par five -- is struck from an elevated tee to a spacious landing area. A solid drive will give strong players a chance to reach the green in two, which brings eagle into the equation. Chestatee’s signature hole is the par-three 17th. It’s a sightseeing spectacle. From the tee, the 17th provides golfers with a spectacular view of the Chestatee River.

At Old Toccoa Farm (596 Curtis Switch Road, Mineral Bluff, Georgia; 706-946-GOLF), be prepared to snap

a few pictures when you play the 8th. While standing on the tee of this par four, you’ll see the Toccoa River and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance, just beyond the green. This view causes you to stop, pause and admire. It’s a great golf hole, too!

Golf Offers Networking Lesson for Immersion Interns Veterans United Home Loans, the country’s largest VA home lender is in its second class of Immersion Interns. One of the program’s activities was a golf tournament to teach the interns the game of golf as a networking tool to use as they progress in their careers. Each intern was paired with an experienced golfer from Veterans United who could teach them proper technique, course etiquette along with the rules. The event was incredibly successful as several of the interns expressed an interest in continuing to learn more about the sport. It will definitely remain part of the Immersion program’s curriculum for future classes.

The Immersion Internship Program was launched in May 2018 with 12 interns coming to Columbia, Missouri.

The intent of this nationally sourced diversity internship is to immerse students of color in the mortgage industry, the Columbia, Missouri community, and the company culture.

Fun, Relaxing, Enjoyable Mountain Golf In 1938, chemist James Cummings sold his successful pharmaceutical companies in Buffalo and Toronto and began his search for the ideal, temperate climate where he could escape the extreme Buffalo winters. His search lead him to Hendersonville, NC, where he spent part of each year raising cattle on his farm, overlooking the French Broad river. For the rest of his life, he made it a priority to give back to his three favorite cities – Buffalo, Toronto and Hendersonville - funding hospital and church projects.

Cummings Cove is located on the gentle slopes where James Cummings’ cattle once grazed, in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.

It’s a mountain community and the Cummings Cove Country Club serves as its centerpiece. Whether you’re on the golf course, in the clubhouse at the restaurant or in the pro shop, you’ll enjoy the same mountain views that James Cummings saw when he decided to make this area his new home.

The golf course at Cummings Cove offers golfers 5 sets of tees. From the back tees, Cummings Cove plays 6,415 yards. This may not seem like a lot, but remember, we’re talking mountain golf.

The Bermuda fairways lead to Bentgrass greens. There’s a lot of elevation change yet very few extreme uphill shots. From the Gold tees, the course 28

has a rating of 72.4 and a whopping slope of 134. Seniors typically play from the appropriately named Silver tees (5,133/69.5/127), while ladies will move up to 4,821 (65.4/113). No matter your skill level, you’ll find a set of tees to match your abilities.

He told me that there were big changes in the layout of the course. For example Number 10 went from being a par 4, that required a tee shot over water to a small landing area, followed by an approach shot over water to the green.

Ron Clark from First Tee Mountain Golf said that when you played the hole in the early spring, you could go for the green off the tee by skipping the ball across the ice on the pond. Wemple also mentioned that many of the changes have made the course a lot easier to maintain.

Cummings Cove is full of memorable holes but what I will remember most is the stretch from 12 – 15. Each hole is unique and distinct in its own right.

Twelve is a short dogleg right par 4 with a blind tee shot. Play out to the left of the tee; if you try to fade it around the corner, don’t go too far right or you’ll never see that ball again. Keep it in the fairway and you’ll have a short iron or wedge in. Number 13 is a long par 3 that plays slightly uphill. The green is

wider than deep and well protected by sand. Par is a good score here. Fourteen is a long par 5 that doglegs slightly left and features water all down the left side. Play your drive and layup shots down the right side but beware of the fairway bunker about 80 yards out from the green. The water sneaks back into play just left of the green. Number 15 is one of the best risk/reward opportunities on the course. It’s a dogleg left par 4; the only thing you can see is a bunker about 225 yards straight out.

Play your tee shot left of the bunker and you’ll have an upward approach shot of around 135 – 155 yards, Cut the corner off the tee, carry the rough and you can get it down to under 100 yards.

It’s your choice. Cummings Cove ends with back-to-back par 5s and gives you a chance to get a couple of lost strokes back.

All in all, the golf course is in fantastic condition and is a lot of fun to play.

The staff is as friendly and as outgoing as the members; it’s obvious they love what they’re doing and have fun doing it. The views are incredible; stand on the 16th green and look out over 50 miles of mountain vistas. In the springtime you’ll see more shades of green than a leprechaun with a hangover!

sunsets. It sits on a high knoll overlooking the golf course and lake with the mountains in the distance serving as the back drop. The views don’t let up when you enter the dining room as walls of glass wrap around the room and you can see the everchanging panorama. The clubhouse is reminiscent of a mountain lodge, with massive wood beams and a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace; it’s a great place to host a special event.

Recently, the clubhouse went through a massive renovation. The old pro shop has been taken over by a multipurpose/ card room. The pro shop is now an 1,100 ft. standalone building. Inside the golf pro shop, you’ll find premium golf club rentals as well as quality clothing from manufacturers such as Antigua, and golf balls and accessories from companies like Callaway, Titleist, and Bridgestone.

The golf course at Cummings Cove is open for anyone to play; you don’t need to be a member, however memberships are available. In fact, the only way to become a member of Cummings Cove is to be a resident of the community; that way you can experience all that Cummings Cove has to offer on a regular basis. All residents are required to have at least a Social Membership.

Cummings Cove has been named “One of America’s Best 100 Best MasterPlanned Communities” and offers three levels of membership: The Golf Membership gives members full use of all Cummings Cove facilities. A Sports Membership includes some golf and full use of all other facilities. As a Social Club Member, you have complete use of the clubhouse, tennis facilities and pool. Dan Pendola, PGA – Head Golf Professional “My favorite hole at Boca Grove Golf & Tennis Club is hole #11. It is a great looking, 403-yard dog leg left. The tee shot plays slightly uphill and the approach slightly downhill. It demands a long tee shot up the right side to avoid the bunkering up the left side of the fairway. But be careful, if you go too far up the right side there is a slope from the edge of the fairway down to a row of hedges. Your tee shot must be precise because the entire hole is flanked by out of bounds stakes.

After a great drive in the fairway and preferably on top of the slight uphill climb to the peak of the fairway, you should have about 150 yards left to a green that is well framed by large palms and live oak trees. It really is a great look when you are trying to attack the pin from this slightly elevated vantage point.

The green is well guarded by bunkering on the left side and a drop off to a grass bunker on the right. You might try to bail out to the right side of the green to avoid the bunkering on the left, but an up and down from the right is no bargain. The green is gently sloped from

There are a set of deep bunkers, strategically placed in the landing zone off the tee. These bunkers lend the appearance of a slight double dogleg, however in play, it is more of an illusion than reality.

The second shot is over a low-lying pond which is flanked by two optically pleasing bunkers.

back to front, so keeping your approach to the pin under the hole is crucial if you want to avoid a fast putt down the slope.

Overall, the 11th hole can play as a beast into the wind but down wind, you will see it more as a beauty. Not only for the beautiful framing of the green, but for the shorter club you could have into the difficult approach to the green.”

Philip Gabes – First Golf Professional “My favorite hole without question is the Par 4 18th hole. Although it is not a long hole, playing at 360 yards from the Tour tees, it requires two strategically placed shots to give yourself a chance at

a birdie.

You have a few options off the tee, you could lay back and give yourself a longer approach shot in. This may be smart to avoid the looming water running along the right side of the hole. However, if you choose to be aggressive you can give yourself a short iron into this two-tiered green.

With an approach shot over water, there is no good place to miss this green as there is a bunker along the right side of the green and grass swells to the left.

It’s important to put yourself on the same level of the green as the flag, otherwise a three putt may be in your future.

Luckily, regardless of your score you

have a view of the clubhouse on this scenic finishing hole.”

A Hidden Treasure is Now Found Nestled among the gentle rolling hills of the Hoosier National Forest is French Lick Resort. Within the resort is the magnificent “West Baden Springs Hotel.” A very opulent 243 guest room and suites hotel.

But, for me the West Baden has a secret… a secret for golfers… that when you visit, causes you to conger up all kinds of golf memories from the past.

And for those young people visiting, it will ensure that the history of golf is well taken care of and a true learning experience.

In a quiet set of rooms on the first floor – in plane view I might add – is the “Legends Hall of Fame.” I can truly admit that I missed this gem the last time I visited French Lick, but never-again.

French Lick Resort has been invit-

ing ladies to play Professional Golf at French Lick since the early 1950’s. The golf staff, headed by Director of Golf, Dave Harner, has assured that the Legends Hall of Fame is well documented in a way that you will enjoy the rich memories.

Taking in all the history items… I stumbled across a cover of “Golf World” magazine dated August 1st, 1958 and displayed was coverage of the French Lick Open. Headline read “Five-Putt Loses…” Louise Suggs, aided by Mrs. Marlene Hagge’s five-putt 71st green, came from behind to win July 27th with a 72-hole total of 300 over the French Lick Sheraton Course in Indiana.

FIVE-PUTT… Okay… at that point I wasn’t feeling so bad after playing the 102-year-old, Donald Ross course the

day before.

Just a stroll through what I call “Memory Lane” is well worth your time.

Look the sun is up just so long to play golf during the day and you must go adventuring out.

French Lick is a town of rich history outside the Resort.

I ventured into the French Lick Museum and boy was I shocked. Now, I knew growing up in Northern Indiana that NBA Hall of Fame Member Larry Bird was from French Lick, but what I didn’t know was what Paul Harvey would say… “The Rest of the Story.”

Amazed at all the pieces of history that have been preserved in one location, including how French Lick got its name. I believe that the most amazing thing I have seen in a long time, was an exhibit of the “Hagenbeck and Wallace Circus.” A complete diorama display of the working circus traveling by the rail system out of the French Lick area. Talk about the “kid in a candy store” feeling.

These exhibits were outstanding. Worth your time, during your visit to French Lick Resort.

So, what do you call an event that starts out with over 3,200 participant… played over 34 different locations and then after 4 days of play… on the fifth day… it plays down to 1 winner?

The 36th Annual Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship in the Golf Capital of the World, in Myrtle Beach South Carolina.

Dave Dell Wins SFPGA Senior Professional Championship Presented by Cadillac Few in the field knew Dave Dell’s name, but they now know he has game.

Dell, who moved this year from Massachusetts to Naples, introduced himself to the South Florida PGA Section Wednesday by winning the SFPGA Senior PGA Professional Championship Presented

by Cadillac at Turtle Creek Club.

Dell shot a 4-under 68 to finish at 9-under 135 and win by two shots over Mike Gray of Indian Creek.

Dell made just one bogey while missing one green in 36 holes.

“I know there are a lot of great players in the section and I wanted to see if I could hang with them,” said Dell, who was the PGA Head Professional at Springfield Country Club.

“I thought if I played my best, I might be able to scrape a top-10 finish. I didn’t expect to win.”

Dell started the final round with a two-shot lead, but Gray shot a

4-under 32 on the front nine to catch him. Dell regained the lead with birdies at the 13thand 15th holes.

“I tried not to think about it, but I knew my lead was gone,” Dell said. “I was able to make a couple of putts.”

Gray matched Dell’s 68 to finish at 7-under, a shot ahead of three-time champion Mike San Filippo. Gray made 10 birdies in the two rounds.

I finally made some putts,” Gray said. “I only missed one green if you don’t count the collar.

“I never met Dave until this week. He was steady, kept it in play and rolled his ball really well.”

The top eight finishers, as well as champion Dell, earned spots in the Senior PGA Professional Championship Presented by Cadillac on Oct. 3-6 in Austin, Texas. Also qualifying by finishing tied for fourth were John Lee (67-139) of Imperial Golf Club, Alan Morin (68-139) of The

Falls Club of the Palm Beaches.

John Nieporte (70-141) of Trump International and Mark Mielke (68-141) of High Ridge were sixth.

The final four spots were decided in a five-man playoff at 1-over 145.

Advancing were Roger Kennedy Jr. (68) of The Country Club at Mirasol, Joe Kern (73) of Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club, J.C. Anderson (74) of The Club at The Strand and Craig Watson (71) of First Tee of the Palm Beaches. First alternate is Joe DeMino (72) of Gleneagles Country Club.

Matt Borchert Repeats as NFPGA PGA Professional Champion

Summer continues to heat up on the NFPGA Tournament front. Matt Borchert, Isleworth defends his PGA Professional Championship title on the spectacular Black Diamond Ranch Quarry course with a 3-shot victory over Greg Koch, Ritz Carlton Orlando.

Matt finished at 10 under par buoyed by his first round 66 to set the tone.

Southwest Chapter Champion Christian Bartolacci, finished solo third.

The Quarry Course provided a great challenge supported by their great service and attention to detail. It was a special couple of days for the players.

The National Car Rental Assistants Championship was hosted by Reunion Resort on the Watson Course. Colin Van Es, David Leadbetter Academy defeated Feilding Brewbaker, Pasadena Yacht & CC in a sudden-death playoff to take the title. Both players shot a pair of 68’s both days thus leading to the playoff. Reunion Resort is the homesite of the NFPGA and we appreciate their support and the privilege. The future looks bright for these young assistants and associates as they have proven they have game. Our Associates and Assistants are the future of our competitions and it’s humbling to see them come out with strong performances in their major championship.

Our third Major of 2019 is the TeeSnap Match Play Championship. It’s no secret that Rod Perry, Crane Lakes Golf & CC is the man to beat and up and comer Baxter Reeves, Oceanside CC did just that! It took 20 holes to do it and Baxter came out on top this time. The Match Play title is probably 50

the toughest one to win as you must overcome 36 holes a day in the August heat to keep moving through the brackets. Baxter also claimed our Stableford Championship this season as well. A special thank you to our homesite Reunion Resort for giving us the Nicklaus Course to contest this major. Thank you to our title sponsor TeeSnap for stepping up to provide our players with such a great venue and championship.

As stated, we are in the heat of our tournament season. The West Central Chapter finally determined their Chapter Champion and Women’s Champion.

This time the weather cooperated.

Gary Koch, NBC Golf took a break from his busy schedule and won the title at the classic Belleair CC. Gary finished at 4 under to hold off Zack Verveacke, Green Golf Partners who finished at 3 under. This week Gary proved he was “better than most” within the Chapter. Jessica Negron, St. Pete Golf & CC dominated the WCC Women’s Championship with an impressive total of 7 under par at Belleair CC. Thank you to the members and staff at Belleair CC for the privilege of playing such historic venue. Mother Nature was kind this time and it was a special couple days of competition and fun.

• It didn’t take the #MeToo movement to get rid of “Ladies” on scorecards. You rarely see that today as the men who can put their egos aside can move way forward to have a good time. The other side of it isn’t good: too many low-handicap ladies play forward, instead of going back a tee box or two.

• People who might be seen but we wish weren’t heard: Gary McCord.

• Not many courses are visible from interstate highways but many of you have seen Baymeadows, just south of Jacksonville off I-95. It was a Desmond Muirhead-Gene Sarazen gem that opened in the 1960s and lasted until around 2000, when the area grew and the land was worth more for homesites. A big builder got hold of it but the residents sued, pointing out that their homes were purchased with the legal understanding that the course would remain a course. There have been years of back-and-forth and the builders now have prevailed, so the bones of the course are now being bulldozed.

Most of us don’t have one holein-one in a year, much less two in a year, and we can only hope for two in one tournament. Meet Kevin Slayden of Jacksonville (center), who made two aces in the Jacksonville Amateur last month, one in the first round and the other in the third. It’s bad enough that golf courses are closing, but to lose one

to tennis? The Wimbledon Club, which has the big tournament each summer, needs more space and is buying the adjacent Wimbledon Park Golf Course for almost $80 million. Can’t really blame the golf club’s members, though, as there are only 750 of them and that’s a nice check (or, as they say, cheque.) Still, it’s an incursion of another dying game into our beloved sport. This brings to mind the favorite joke of former LPGA Commissioner Charles Meacham: A man come home Sunday evening and his wife is crying. She says, “You played 36 holes on Saturday and 36 holes, today. You love golf more than me.” The guy thinks a minute, and says, “Well, I love you more than tennis.”

• People who should be admired: Those who figured out how to put a 52-week PGA Tour schedule into 40 weeks.

• Florida football coach Dan Mullen finally made a holein-one and he managed to have two days of glory before Florida’s most famous coach, Steve Spurrier, out-staged him.

Mullen is an occasional player but has the strength to hit a 7-iron into a hole that’s 173 yards away, as he did earlier this Jacksonville course owner Billy Maxwell celebrated his 90th birthday with a party at the TPC Stadium course. A former U.S. Amateur champ, PGA Tour winner and Ryder Cup player,Maxwell owns the Hyde Park public course. Among those helping celebrate was another U.S. Amateur winner (background,) Bob Dickson.

• People whose 15 minutes of golf fame have run out: Charles Barkley.

• With courses closing, it’s nice to have one that is opening.

But, alas, your chances of playing it might be slight. It’s a Pete Dye creation at White Oak Plantation, a 7,400-acre wildlife preserve north of Jacksonville that was put together 30 or so years ago by the late Gilman Paper CEO Howard Gilman and sold in 2013 to Mark Walter, the CEO of Guggenheim Capital and the majority owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Gilman’s interests included golf (he also built Osprey Cove just across the Georgia state line) and he had a course which started as six holes and later was redesigned and expanded to nine

by Steve Melnyk. There is public access to the Plantation’s extensive business campus and a zoo with exotic animals, but we hear the new golf course will be reserved for Walter and his high-finance and show biz pals.

• People whose act has gotten old, as have they: Bill Murray.

• One very good thing about the majors being pulled closer to together is that we don’t have an extended period of what my friend calls “summer camp” sports. You can watch just so much tennis, soccer and other TV filler.

• People who need to take a long look in the mirror: David Duval.

Renovations at Reunion

Reunion® Resort & Golf Club is in the midst of an extensive renovation project to all three of their signature courses. This $800,000 renovation includes installing new drainage lines and bunker liner for the greenside bunkers. “We are looking to continuously improve the golfer experience” says Kevin Baker, General Manager. “Our

courses have not seen this scale of renovation since the early days of the resort,” Baker continues. “The response from our members and guests has been overwhelmingly positive, they notice the improvement to the look and play of the courses.”

This soil is a clay and sand mixture that creates challenges to keep the bunkers from becoming contaminated.

The bunker liner will create a barrier between the soil and bunker sand to help prevent future contamination. In addition to the bunker renovations, the Reunion team has been working with the Nicklaus design team to reduce the size of the bunkers to improve playability and allow for more efficient maintence.

Reunion has seen immediate results from the improvements to the drainage lines. As other courses shift to cart path only during Florida’s rainy season, Reunion® has not needed to inforce this restriction during play.

ONEGOLF, Inc, based in Ocala, Florida was awarded the contract for this project. With over 19 years of local and international experience in golf construction, ONEGOLF, was the perfect partner to support Reunion® Resort in making the course improvements.

The project has been completed on the Arnold Palmer Course, is near completion on the Jack Nicklaus Course and the targeted completion for the Tom Watson Course is in October. All three courses have remained open during all phases of the renovations.

I have been in the golf course maintenance business since I was thirteen years old. I worked summers and weekends through high school, college, and graduate school at Rolling Green Golf Club outside Philadelphia, PA. In 1995 I went full time as a laborer at Bardmoor/Bayou Club in Largo, Fl for a whopping $7.50 an hour to make sure I was committed to turf as a career. The next year I was an assistant supe with a management company outside DC. I went to turf school ‘98/’99 at Rutgers. I interned at Olde Florida in Naples for Darren Davis, current past president of the GCSAA. My first supe job was Copperhead at Innisbrook that following year. I was part of a renovation at that tour course with architect Larry Packard and director of golf Jay Overton.

I instantly got the bug and spent the next ten years in “grow-ins” in central Florida. In September 2009 I came to the Resort at Longboat Key Club as the director of agronomy under plans for a 45-hole renovation.

Longboat Key is a beautiful barrier island nestled in a salty environment mere yards from the Gulf of Mexico.

Currently it has the 187 acres of PlatinumTE Paspalum in golf; it has proven to be the perfect grass for the perfect piece of paradise in our great state.

During this year’s event, nearly 1,000 volunteers visited golf courses worldwide to participate in Audubon International’s 5th annual BioBlitz. This event, sponsored by the United States Golf Association (USGA), provides a unique opportunity for golf courses to engage people of all ages and from all walks of life in showcasing and recording the abundance of wildlife found on their local golf course landscapes.

Deborah Repasz, BioBlitz volunteer coordinator from Bay Oaks states, “We could not have had this number without the help of my fellow Galveston Bay Area Texas Master Naturalists. They diligently worked to find and identify as many species as possible using iNaturalist on their phones as well as field guides. We participate in BioBlitz to track the increase and decrease of species in the area while also hosting a fun event. Some were surprised to
