P S U O N E G INDI Big cities around the world are not too different from one another. They all have malls, stores, roads, cars, tall buildings. And they also share the same problems, like air pollution, violence and traffic. But right now there are millions of people living in a very different way. Many indigenous people around the world have survived the colonization process and still live in tribes, close to nature and in harmony with the Earth’s rhythms. Today, these people might be in contact with technology and modernity, but they still preserve their origins and beliefs. Meet some fascinating tribes that are a living testimony to our history and origins!
BRAZIL Tribe: Kayapo Where? Xingu River, in the Amazon Population: 8,638 About: The Kayapo people live in villages. They practice agriculture and plant sweet potato, yam, taro and papaya. They also have a great knowledge of around 250 plants that we can eat and another 650 medicinal plants in the Amazon rainforest. Scientists are discovering many new medicines because of this traditional knowledge.

Today, many Chukchi people speak Russian.

To get married, he usually pays a number of pigs to his wife’s family.
