IT’S MINE! SAID THE BABY ANTEATER, WITH ITS POINTY SNOUT !

HERE'S A BABY READER WHO LOVES BOOKS!

This book was especially written for baby readers: those who are just now starting to grab a book with their own hands and beginning to apply the contents to their everyday lives. After all, babies as early as 3 months old start becoming more self-aware and discovering their own bodies. Encouraging the recognition of body parts with babies is part of their normal development and creates a bond of love and trust between babies and the adults around them!

NATURE INSIDE HERE'S A BABY WHO LOVES NATURE!

Learning about the animals of the Brazilian wildlife and recognizing them as living beings is part of the environmental education of babies. This book was written to promote the love and care for nature during this special reading moment, when adults and babies share experiences and affection. With a realistic undertone, the illustrations depict newborn animals from our wildlife and allow the babies to learn how they look and appreciate their natural characteristics.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

My name is Aloma. I’m a mother, pedagogue, writer and editor. Some of my happiest memories of my children’s early childhood are the moments in which we read together. I used to read to them every night before bed, in quiet afternoons and on rainy weekends, and whenever they’d come asking me to read them a book. Or reread it... I believe reading is part of a healthy childhood, and books use words and images to fuel the thoughts and emotions of children. I also believe books can teach us to learn how to love and appreciate nature, which is why I wrote this one, which has amazing and almost realistic images of our wildlife. Images that inspire tenderness and spark the curiosity of babies and toddlers.

TIPS TO FORM CHILDREN READERS!

1. Read everyday, preferably always at the same time of day. This way, they’ll start to realize that the book is an important object of their daily routine.

2. Comment on the book you’ve just read, sharing your interpretation of the text and the illustrations. This will teach them that reading is about interpreting different meanings of your own.

3. Apply what you’ve learned from books in other moments throughout the day. This will teach them to associate reading to their own experiences.
