With school holidays started, many families will wonder what to do to keep their whānau busy and themselves sane.

Having a child with Down syndrome at times limits these choices, for a variety of reasons, and sometimes cost may simply be putting you off. Many regions in New Zealand however, have active policies to remove the financial hurdles for people with a disability and make their activities more accessible for those with limited financial flexibility. Online searches have revealed that the three main centres in the county offer many discounts for people with different disabilities. Other towns and cities may have their own discounts that are not on this list, so please email the NZDSA so we will start adding to the online database we are building on our website.

Here is the list of discounts for children with special needs and their carers.
