OPFØRELSESNOTER Den dybe, runde og mørke basklarinet danner sammen med et tyst slagtøj, centreret omkring vibrafon, bækkener, gong’er og træblokke, en lydverden af sin helt egen art. Derfor lå det, længe før musikken blev komponeret, klart, at dette værk måtte hedde “skyggernes land”. Der fandtes ingen andre muligheder. Og man skal heller ikke lede efter subtile litterære referencer. “Skyggernes land” er sig selv og har sin helt egen verden. Og det lå ligeledes klart, at værket måtte have en tvilling: et lyst og forrevet højtklingende stykke. Titlen er “Lys”. Et værk for en helt anden type instrumenter. Men det er en helt anden historie.
