Piano Sonata (2019)
Dur. 40′
NOTE
The pedal is only indicated when I have a special request, otherwise the pedal should underline harmony and character.
The pianist must wear (preferably wireless) microphones in order to speak and hum. Appropriate amplification and speakers are needed. Furthermore, specially manufactured boards and swivel casters are available as hire material.
The sonata is dedicated to my daughter Rahel.

The canon should be emphasized! It is written, using a large notehead font. Everything else slightly softer.

Stand up and grab both single wheeled swivel casters (one for each hand)
Black Keys: White Keys:
*Use the swivel casters to make the glissandi. One s.c. in the right hand for the black keys and the other in the left hand for the white keys. Play standing. The s.c.s are passing eachother on the keyboard during playing.
Put the swivel casters away, hands in lap, helplessly – inaction for 7''-8'' I am not used to writing illustrative music senza misura

No break to next bar! Grab the 2 wheeled swivel caster with the left hand and the cluster-board with the right hand, vigorously. Stand up!
Put the board and caster on the piano, take a seat, hands in lap, staring hopelessly
I don't know if the pianist would like to comment?

When humans join harmony, it is felt by the angels as well
The fermatas must have different durations between 4 and 12 seconds. Every chord should have its own inner story.

Well I didn't!...
Humming (give the way you hum some thought. Joyfull would be my approach, in spite of the solemnity of the canon. Or it could be "Glenn Gould- style". I would also suggest to use various sounds, a piacere – sometimes "mmm", sometimes "deedeedee", sometimes "aaaa" etc.)
